Something that always stuck out to me about Crosshair killing Tawni Ames is when he decided to pull the trigger. Crosshair could’ve killed Ames immediately after the imperial governor told them to or when Cody maintained that he wanted to discuss peace. Crosshair had a few opportunities within that short scene to kill Governor Ames, but he didn’t. He didn’t shoot her until Grotton began to threaten Cody and his job.
Cody was the last person that Crosshair knew and also the last person that didn’t look down on him.
>Side note: I like the obvious contrast of Cody actively looking for Crosshair while the other regs would move to avoid eating lunch with him.
Another thing I think about a lot is when Cody asked the age old question “do you know what makes us different from droids?” Crosshair knew he wasn’t going to see Cody again. He knows what that question means. And when he asks Rampart why he wouldn’t accompany Cody, he wasn’t surprised that Cody went AWOL. His face showed more irritation than shock.

We’re soldiers. We do what needs to be done.
[image description: a digital drawing of Crosshair from The Bad Batch, visible from the waist up with his back facing the viewer. He stares over his shoulder with an expression of twisted horror and anger. A red crosshair mark illuminates the fake background. The words “GOOD SOLDIERS FOLLOW ORDERS” repeat in the background, lowering in opacity as they reach the bottom of the piece. End ID.]

New Bad Batch Merch Available!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I just found a new series of Bad Batch blind bag clip figures available at my local BoxLunch! Nowhere else so far, but wouldn’t hurt to check online.
The figures are lovely - everyone’s in their Season 2 getup, and they made Echo’s scomp more stable so it won’t easily tear away like the Series 1 version. Rex is rocking his civilian getup from his Coruscant adventures, and we got a Gungi!
Exclusive A for this series appears to be Omega in her helmet with her Nightsister bow, but I can’t tell who Exclusive B is. My first hope was Phee, but the head’s all wrong. It’s definitely not Mayday because the legs aren’t defined like the others. Nor is it helmetless Crosshair, Emerie, or Hemlock, because there are no ears like on the new Rex figure. Also not Cid because the head is too smooth. Best guess at this point is AZ because of the tiny legs, but the head still doesn’t look right. Any thoughts?

Tumblr media
Nobody asked and nobody needed, but there you go.
DOWNLOAD Crosshair's "dad" cap from S03E04. Base game compatible.
Crosshair sim (with slight modifications) comes from ArthurKirky.
Hated this ridiculous outfit but might actually model it later.
For now Hunter S1 armor's in progress - helmet's already been handpainted:

bro… cody’s blaster fire was blue while crosshairs was red. there is no canon reason this should have happened, the empire would have probably already switched to one supplier of blaster material and therefore have one specific color. so… foreshadowing MUCH?! this show will be my undoing
Tumblr media
so we know now that stylistically blue blaster fire could mean defection. you can bet i’ll be watching crosshair’s firepuncher like a hawk from now on. debate me with your thoughts on this

Some thoughts about The Bad Batch S2 Ep3 - The solitary Clone
About Crosshair (spoilers below)
Ugh, this episode has been hard to see!
First, Crosshair. Hell, this man makes me feel the love/hate meme everytime! He is so alone (for me it differs from the term “solitary” in this one) and, internally, he's still looking for the company, a group to belong to, with which to fulfill missions. He seems genuinely happy to see Cody again and do that mission with him. I feel he's much more talkative and then even ask for him again. But in the end, he’s still alone, and more and more with each clone that “disappears” (fuck Rampart, that hurts).
Tumblr media
I fear for him and I can’t belive that I’m feeling this way becasuse he has done so many bad things... I want he redeem himself and go back to his brothers after this episode!
It will be interesting how they’ll manage his character in the future episodes.
Also, what about Cody??? Is he dead? Imprisoned? Or really flew free from the Empire? I hope we will see him in other episode :(
PD: The scene with Crosshair alone in his room it reminded me the scene with Kallus in Star Wars Rebels after his episode with Garazeb. Coincidence? I think not!

Lost Brother By HaltandCrowley13
Summary:
They say everyone who looks into their family history will find a secret sooner or later. Omega Se - now Fett - didn't believe that. But there was no harm in looking, she decided, though her family was very complicated, as she only really cared about her three directly related brothers Hunter, Tech and Wrecker and her half-brother Echo, also a Fett, who she lived with.

Hello fellas! Today im here to do some conspiracy around what could have possibly happened to Cody and what will possibly be crosshair's fate.
So after watching tbb s2 ep3 we got to know that Cody suddendly "disappeared" and rampart is now suspicious of crosshair.
So let me present you my theory.
I believe that cody didn't die. I think the empire realized that cody was almost turning against them, but somehow cody acknowledged that and managed to escape. I think cody might be hiding somewhere, while at the same time he is regretting the choices he couldn't avoid because of the chip.
My thoughts are that the empire is secretly hunting for cody while at the same time Rampart is trying to frame crosshair. Why do i say that? Well rampart now knows that CF99 is alive and since he ain't dumb he might know as well that crosshair worked with them on kamino to stay alive.
I believe that Rampart was expecting crosshair to turn them in or kill em, since he didn't do any of that, Rampart figured out that sooner or later crosshair would turn against the empire as well and so now he is trying to get him framed.
I dont know if we will see crosshair dying but i think so, and in a very tragic and sad way.
I think that rampart will capture crosshair and try to contact CF99 to bait them in to saving crosshair, after all they are still brothers. As soon as they get face to face rampart will shoot crosshair straight in the face.
Thats my theory. To believe it or not is your choice. Let me know what you think about it as well.
Cya fellas!

Headcanon/theory time:
What if Ninety-Nine was meant to be a member of Clone Force 99??
The Kaminoans definitely played around with the accelerated aging rate of the clones, seeing as Omega was created before the Bad Batch, likely just after or around the time generation 1 and Boba were created for her to be old enough to remember the Bad Batch’s creation. This would also mean that the Bad Batch were likely created along with generation 2 for them to be mature enough for combat. Additionally, if Emerie is a Jango clone and Omega’s sister, the Kaminoans clearly gave her a dose of whatever accelerated her aging.
We know from TCW episode 03:01 “Clone Cadets” that training squads consisted of five troopers, but the Bad Batch only originally had four. There’s no real reason the Kaminoans would have deviated from Clone Force 99 having five members… unless something went wrong.
The Bad Batch still would have been functional as a squad of four if their training had been adapted to that of the commandos. I’m hesitant to say they were originally intended to train and operate as commandos, because their designations are CT-9901, 9902, 9903, and 9904 respectively, not CCs.
So, if there were supposed to be five Bad Batchers, who would CT-9905 have been?
My theory is that Ninety-Nine was originally created as part of the Bad Batch and was designated 9905, but something went wrong with the “desirable” mutation in his DNA that caused him to age far too rapidly. Upon seeing this, the Kaminoans removed him from the Bad Batch, but kept him around to see the results of their twisted experimentation. That means the rest of Clone Force 99 could still have been aware he existed, and maybe Ninety-Nine even looked out for them as he continued to rapidly age. It would also add to his desire to be a soldier like the rest of his brothers, and his strong sense of camaraderie. That would account for the Bad Batch knowing of his sacrifice when the droids attacked Kamino, and likely formulating Plan 99 in his honor.
Finally, it would make the situation even more poetic that Echo, who knew and befriended Ninety-Nine, would come to be the fifth member of the Bad Batch.

Hello and welcome to tragic theory Tuesday. Here goes nothing.
So I've been thinking lately, and rewatching TCW with my roommate (we finished the Siege of Mandalore Arc last night).
And it seems like the standard batch/squad contains five clones.
That's the amount that we see with all the squads during the Domino Squad episodes that take place on Kamino, and in fanon, most people choose one more commander to get added on to Cody's fanon batch, alongside Fox, Wolffe, and Bly (usually Ponds but he actually has a CT designation and not a CC designation so personally I think Gree is more likely--- but I digress).
But there is one very well known batch that does not fit that pattern.
To be fair, if anyone was going to have a non-standard batch size, it would be them, so I'm not trying to say that canon implies or implicitly supports the theory I'm about to put forward, but it does allow for it, and I think it's an interesting angle to explore nonetheless.
I think the Bad Batch might be missing a batchmate.
I also have a theory as to who it is. You might already be thinking it, too. Here's my reasoning.
When Omega tries to fix Gonky, she's told that she can't because he's "defective," like them. Now, I don't know about you, but I don't think that there's much to suggest that the Batch was considered defective. We have some pretty strong evidence that defective clones are placed on sanitation duty as a default, and pretty much no evidence that this was something the Batch ever did. In fact, they seem highly trained. Even if Cody did have to fight for them to actually be deployed, it seems like the Kaminoans were very deliberate in their genetic alterations and fully planned on them being useful in the field. And when they end up in that food fight in the cafeteria on Kamino, no one says anything like "go back to cleaning" which seems like an insult that would have gotten thrown around if available. But there's still something that associates them with the idea of being "defective"--- like a batchmate with a genuinely disadvantageous mutation.
The only canonical CT number we have for a Batcher is Crosshair's: CT-9904. I suppose there's not technically anything in canon to suggest that the Batchers all have CT numbers beginning with CT-99, but it seems likely that the others would have the numbers CT-9901, CT-9902, and CT-9903, just from the designation "Clone Force 99" (which does not seem to be something they chose themselves, considering that Cody notes that "They call themselves the Bad Batch"). If they had a missing batchmate, their CT number would likely be either CT-9900 or CT-9905.
We know of one other defective clone. We also have one prominent example of a clone who chose his name from his CT number, so I don't think another would be improbable, and there is another clone with a number name.
In short, I think 99's CT number is not CT-99. I think it's CT-9900. And I think he was intended to be part of the Bad Batch, but a mutation in his rapid aging left him planet-bound on Kamino and separated from the rest of the Batch while they aged normally (for clones, anyway).
Like I said, a lot of this is based on conjecture and a couple of minor details interpreted in a very specific way. This is just my theory/obligatory angst post for the week. Don't take it too seriously, pls.
