Hi Bonny! I adore your writing so much! 🫶🏻 I wonder how ILY Jungkook got into buying toys for YN for sexy time. Was there a discussion prior? Can you write something on it especially how he used the remote control vibrator with her? Were they at home or outside? Or just chilling? Thank you! 🙈
A/N: My all-time favorite horny-couple, thanks for requesting something for them haha
Tumblr media
Jungkook is like a Pokémon. He's evolving with every day, gaining experience and leveling up with every single hour he's alive- becoming more and more powerful, while staying oddly cute at the same time. If you had to compare him to one, you'd probably choose something like Dragonite, with his big round eyes and powerful body.
Maybe he'd even be the shiny version. Rare and special.
But right now, he's just so- uniquely Jungkook again, as he unboxes the white box with the distinctive writing on the front, fingers trying to find the tape holding everything shut, a pout on his lips. His glasses are sliding down a bit, hair pulled back with one of your hairties, and he's just.. almost innocent looking, sitting there at the kitchen table.
Innocent- if he wasn't unboxing a fucking sex-toy he'd bought for you online.
"Ah, there." He finally finds the tape, ripping it off before he opens the box, the toy safely tucked away in a velvet little bag he unties, to take out the hot pink object for him to inspect. "Oh, that feels nice.." He hums, fingers feeling the smooth surface while you're completely in awe, watching him just.. act as if this is the most normal thing in the world. "You mentioned it, I think, and it was on discount online-" He explains, taking out the instructions before he unlocks his phone to install the app connected to the toy.
That's the thing with Jungkook you still have to learn. Once you mention something to him- something you'd like to do, or something you want, he will almost always try to either buy that thing, do what you'd mentioned with him, or find something close to it instead, if what you wish for isn't in reach for him.
"Jungkook- those are expensive-" You say, sitting down on the kitchen table close to him, while he sets up the device, getting a bit startled when it buzzes to life for a second.
"Oh, it needs to charge first." He says, taking out the charger, that distinctive pout present yet again as he tries to understand the magnetic charging port. "We can try it out some other time when you like. The reviews were good and it wasn't as expensive as they usually are either-" He hums, as you move to sit on his lap, his arms almost instinctively wrapping around you to keep you in place.
"You always listen to me so well, Jungkookie.." You hum into his chest, leaning your head on his shoulder. "You don't have to do stuff like this to make me happy- you know that right?" You ask, and he nods, a hand on your back while the other makes sure to properly connect the charger, red LED glowing to indicate it's status.
"I know." He shrugs. "Take this as.. something for us both." He jokes, before you adjust your legs a little, accidentally sitting right on his crotch in a way that's clearly not comfortable. "Aw fuck!" He laughs, and you can't help but laugh as well.
"God Jungkook, your dick always get's in between our fluffy moments!" You complain, and he rolls his eyes, hands under your thighs adjusting you once more so you don't hurt him. "How did touching a toy make you half-hard again?" You argue, and he instantly gets defensive, scoffing at you.
"I'm not even remotely hard, what are you talking about!" He denies, and you squint your eyes at him suspiciously. "Honestly!" He says, and you lean back at that, arms crossed, shamelessly looking between his legs. You tend to forget that he's pretty.. impressive, even when he isn't hard at all. He's not just a grower, after all.
"Why not?" You suddenly say, and he's taken aback by it for a second. "After all, your princess-perfect-hot-as-fuck-girlfriend is literally on your lap right now." You accuse him, used to playing around like this-
but instead of being shy, your Pokémon-boyfriend must've evolved yet again when you weren't looking. Because he instead helps you sit on the table right in front of him, his hands tugging down your shorts and underwear, not even bothering to tug them off your ankles as he leans forwards, tongue wetting his lips.
"Well right now, she's sitting on the table." He corrects you, and you're still too stunned to speak as he spreads your legs, before he tucks your shirt underneath your bra to keep it out of the way. "Looking like a full-course meal.." he hums, before he pushes his chair back a bit to have better leverage, slowly leaning forwards, after he puts his glasses down next to you on the kitchen table.
"..and I'm feeling really hungry right now."

Surprise, Surprise, I’m Here to Watch = Requested
[Hazbin Hotel x 3 Powers Granted!Reader]
Tumblr media
Did you think it was possible? No way. Did you embrace it? Oh yes baby
That random lamp you ordered off the internet to fill your cart to get some discount was not garbage. 3 wishes. Anything. Oh, you didn’t want immortality, no, living is a pain. Wealth, you’re not putting a target on your back. Perfect health, that’s like immortality, so no. More wishes, come on, don’t think you can lie your way with this. Don’t be greedy
“First one. Power to travel between universe, and I mean that as in non-fiction and fictional worlds. Second one. Shapeshifting powers, like I don’t want the pain that comes along as well if you can. Third one. Uhhh. Perfect stealth? Like no one will be able to know I’m here until I let them.”
“Are you sure you want to use all your wishes in one-go? I’ll be gone once it’s granted.” The genie blinked at the swiftness. Usually people would think forever or save them up for extreme cases
“Yeah, yeah, hurry up and grant me my wishes. I don’t imagine you like to entertain me for long anyways.” You waved the genie off and in a poof and a snap (should have been “A wap! Bam! Boom! Alakazam!”) you were granted those exact powers
Now being a hardcore shut-in addicted to all things fiction, you tested out your powers first to see if you were dreaming. Then you trained yourself a bit with them and tested their limits. In the meantime, you debated on which universe to go to officially. “Has to be Hazbin Hotel.”
You were obsessed, like majorly obsessed with the show. The moment news came about season 1, you prepared yourself and watched them first thing! You watched more than once, having to remember the lines and songs by heart. Nothing beats watching it unfold in real life or fiction life
Maybe it was because you were kind to the genie (being quick about your wishes) that when you traveled to other universes, time in the real world, your world stops until you’re back. You thanked the genie mentally and honest feel a bit guilty that you shooed them off so quickly. But you’ll make it up with fully using your powers
You figured out everything, a demon and angel form (check the ask) and when to go. You did like Lucifer’s entrance to the show. So why not episode 5? You snapped your fingers, opening a portal before you. You closed your eyes to imagine your demon form, a ring appeared over the top of your head and travelled down, shifting your form to what you pleased. Then you got your bag with your phone and charger and you were ready!
You activated your stealth before entering. Like some fanfiction written about the environment, it was that horrid. If you were in human form, you think you’d die like not even pass out but straight up die from inhaling whatever was in the air. You don’t think any human can survive a second here
Like when traveling to other universes, you weren’t where you wanted and have to travel around. You went straight for the Happy (Hazbin) Hotel, noting the various shops and demons around you, taking out your phone, you recorded your way to mark down locations since this was no longer a fictional place the moment you entered
While you shapeshifted into a demon, you can die. Your body acted on the laws of your world no matter where you went. Your powers of shapeshifting gave you the physiology of a demon and maybe some common powers that other demons have. That was if you traveled to this world first, during your testing period, you went to other worlds and ended up with other powers, though they can’t compare to the ones the genie granted you, it was still power. You can confidentially say you weren’t human anymore
Humming with interest, you climbed into the hotel lobby through an open window so as not to alert the demons inside. Well, you didn’t even need to when you saw everyone preparing for Lucifer’s arrival. You looked up to see Alastor’s annoyed look as he observed the situation in silence. Everything was on track
Delightfully, you recorded everything on your phone, keeping quiet as best you could. Even more excited when you found out that Alastor could be captured on your phone. You followed the plotlines as it was intended, but you have to say witnessing Alastor threaten Husk into silence was more terrifying than you thought. You almost dropped your phone from your shaking hands
You were tempted to help Husk, but you decided against it and went to where Charlie, Vaggie, and Lucifer would be. You watched everything for there onwards. Since that balcony would be the perfect place to record Alastor’s Radio Demon show. But you made it down in time to see Lucifer agreeing to get that meeting with Heaven
Before you followed the couple to Heaven, since there was time, you lazed around town without your stealth active. You had the pleasure of testing your demonic powers and appearance. Sinners and demons alike were hooked, you happily showed them not to mess with you. Soon rumours came about saying a mysterious demon was cruelly killing any that dares to address you. Perhaps you should have kept things on the down low
That little hiccup didn’t stop you from following Charlie and Vaggie to Heaven, you went as far as to appear angelic with another form to travel around without your stealth. It was safer in Heaven after all. You having more wings allowed you easy access to the courthouse as well, you seated gracefully among the other angels and watched the scene untold like the script
You noticed the angelic beings near you start to eye you questionably as you recorded the scene below you without a care, even giggling and chuckling at some moment like you were watching a show. Thing is, it was a show, they all were characters of another’s creation and they didn’t even know it! Your odd actions were nothing compared to the drama happening
Proved that you were only noticed officially when the song came to its end and your giggles were heard out and clear. Your wings fluttered as you stood in front of Charlie and Vaggie, the two smaller wings by the side of your head covering your face
You elegantlly mocked aloud, targeting at Adam and Lute. “I always wondered why angels were given a free pass to everything, including the use of unholy words like a demon and committing action like a demon. Perhaps,” Your smaller wings parted for your golden eyes to stare and glare at Adam, “You are the one that belonged in Hell instead of that poor soul.”
Enraged, Adam sent you three back to Hell with the threat that he’d attack the hotel first. Your wings hid your face again the moment you three were back in the hotel lobby. As Charlie remember you being sent to Hell with them, she turned to you to apologize, only to find you in demon form. Her eyes confused as you turned to look at her. “No harm done, princess. I was never a soul in that place anyways. I had to say something to that piece of work known as the first man.”
Using their shocked and confused moment, you actived your stealth before they could question you anything else. You was fun to watch them fret over your disappearance like you were a child and they a parent, you stuck around since the battle was drawing closer. You’d follow the plotline to go into Charlie’s room, but she needed her privacy and you only went when Vaggie did
Later on, you went with Charlie to Cannibal Town. You wanted to see Rosie! The lovely demon that only officially made her debut much later. You had to record the song as well, though you missed Camilla’s sadly. You also took note of the VoxTech drone that watched the scene, you couldn’t help but shot it out of the sky with a rock
When the battle happened, you were away from Alastor in the beginning and helped out behind the scenes, shooting down exterminators that breached the ‘front line’ or threatened to harm/kill Rosie’s people. You (for the first time) didn’t record a moment since it was intense and you didn’t want to accidentally die or get hurt
You nudged Niffty in Adam’s direction when it was sprouting nonsense that you want jump out your skin for. Then you recorded the stab moment. A scene that many loved after the episode was aired. There was another that you watched, Lucifer’s comment before his and Adam’s ‘fight’ began. You honestly couldn’t hold yourself and laughed like you did when you rewatched the episode so many times
Then you were moving in the speed of light to record their final song. Even going to Alastor’s destroyed tower to get his part. And you rushed back to to hotel later to get the rest of it. You had one hell of a leg work and accidentially dropped your stealth due to tiredness
“You’re that demon that was angel but not!” You heard Angel’s voice shouted and saw his four arms pointed at you.
“Yeah, I have a name, so…” You trailed off, wanting to not be in the spotlight, you’re honestly scared to be involve because the later seasons were not released and you didn’t want anything to be affected. “Bye?”
“No way! We’re celebrating with us!” Charlie quickly wrapped her arm to hook one of yours, Vaggie followed and stood on your other side as her girlfriend continued, “Don’t think I didn’t notice some exterminators falling and dying for no reason!”
Yeah, people saying Charlie was more powerful than she led on was right on the money, even in that chaotic scene she noticed your involvement
You sighed and gave in, no turning back now, “Fine. Fine. I guess I deserve some celebration too.”

Note: I’ll be completely honest, this one, I had no idea how to write. Plus it was different from what I usually write. This is more like a Reader Insert than anything. Hope you enjoyed it though!

Genius
Summary:
After Lily breaks her iPhone, she finds herself at the Genius Bar on Valentines Day, and an old flame is there to help her in all things technology and romance.
read on A03
Marlene McKitten: babes you're missing out on blackberry margs!!
Lily Evans: I’m sorry! It was the only time I could schedule a time for my phone to get fixed!
Marlene McKitten: you just hate me, its okay, you can say it
Lily Evans: you’re a drama queen, Marlene McKinnon
Marlene McKitten: you love me anyways…find me a hot date at the apple store so I can get discounts!!
Lily Evans: if I find a hot guy he’s mine for the night
Marlene McKitten: further proof that you hate me
Lily Evans: I’m here. … Pray this doesn’t take five hours and I can come meet you for drinks.
Marlene McKitten: how hard will it be to replace a screen? … I bet I could do it myself with youtube and a little superglue
Lily did not reply back to her friend, she didn’t have the heart to tell Marlene that superglue and youtube weren’t the answer for everything. Even if superglue had proven effective at keeping Lily’s favorite mug together after it broke in the dishwasher.
Lily just couldn’t believe she was spending her free time at the Apple Store because she'd somehow cracked her phone screen. In all her years of owning a phone, of course it would be the most expensive phone she’d ever had that broke. Even her flimsy flip phone had been more sturdy than her iphone.
“Hi, are you here for an appointment?” A scrawny kid about her age asked, holding the iPad too close to his face as he approached her near the front doors.
Lily nodded quickly. “Yeah, Lily Evans, for a screen repair.”
“Gotcha.” The kid's nametag read ‘Peter,’ and he barely looked up at her as he typed away on his screen. “I checked you in; just go wait at the Genius Bar.”
“Thanks.”
Lily maneuvered around the cramped store, sighing all the while as she made her way to the Genius Bar. It was rather depressing to be alone on Valentine's Day, but it was almost extra disappointing that she’d had to skip lunch with her girlfriends to come here. Lily couldn’t believe she was missing out on the tacos at Casa Grande, a tradition that went all the way back to Uni. She nervously picked at the crack on her screen, most annoyed that she’d somehow forgotten to add the screen protector when she got her new case two months ago. Another sigh escaped her lips before she finally took a look at her surroundings.
There were three boys at the counter, each of them so different from the other. The first, on Lily’s left, was a bloke with a leather jacket, emitting a touch of emo metal head from his persona. The one on the right definitely looked like he belonged at the Genius Bar in the Apple Store, thanks to his perfectly pressed sweater vest and nicely combed hair. The man leaning against the table opposite Lily, typing into his iPad, was a sporty-looking bloke wearing slacks with a rumpled button-down shirt.
She thought to herself, Actually, no, that sporty bloke looks really familiar… Oh.
It hit her like a freight train.
She couldn’t remember his name for the life of her, but he’d somehow gotten hotter in the year since they graduated from college. It’d been almost that much time since they’d danced at a party, stumbled up the stairs to his bedroom, and he’d fucked her on his bed. Not even a quick go. No, she had woken up in his bed to find his arms around her, her clothes all over the room, and her phone dead from going all night without a charger.
He’d been such a gentleman when he woke up. He had practically stumbled over his words when he realized she was there, in his bed, naked with him. They had both been drunk, so even he admitted it had probably been a bad idea. They’d parted ways an hour later, Lily promising that she’d be okay to walk back to her dorm, and he had let her go so she assumed he really hadn’t wanted anything more than a once go in the sheets.
More than once, she'd thought about this bloke, wondering what happened to him.
His black hair was in a mess of waves around his head, and he didn't look up from his iPad as she stared in shock. She didn’t know what she’d say to him if they did make eye contact. The last thing she’d said to him was ‘thanks for the sex’ which somehow grew more and more embarrassing the longer she sat here and recalled it. She kept picturing his naked body in that bed in the morning. What would she say if he looked up right now and she was there remembering the contours of his body?
Hi, I almost didn’t recognize you with your clothes on.
She’d save that gem for later.
Probably never.
Lily felt disappointed as he walked away without looking up, disappearing through a door that likely led to the back. Her heart slowed in her chest, just slightly, but she felt like her throat was drier than the desert. She cleared it twice, earning a look from the guy in the sweater-vest, but he just went back to his task at hand.
Since the other two men at the Genius Bar were preoccupied, she took that to mean she was going to have to wait for help. She checked her Tumblr, finding nothing of consequence, just some idiots in her ask box telling her to eat dirt and choke on it. A usual occurrence on her blog thanks to internet trolls with nothing better to do than hate strong women like Taylor Swift and Captain Marvel. Lily was fully convinced people just liked to find something to complain about. She tried really hard not to complain or take anything a bunch of internet ghosts said to heart. She scrolled through her favorite Taylor Swift blog and saw there had been a new song mashup released. She wished she had brought her headphones so she could at least listen to the music while she waited.
London Boy crossed with This Is Why We Can’t Have Nice Things would be absolutely disastrous and she was here for it. She reblogged it for later, then exited out of the app, settling for people watching instead.
Around her, couples were looking over new computers, AirPods, and various other electronics. All the girls wore really pretty dresses, and all the partners kept one firm arm around each other's waists. Lily’s dress was pretty too, and she played with the edges of the corset cut as she stared at the door through which the fit bloke had disappeared.
Had he spotted her and run? Did he remember her? Did he forget her? She wasn’t sure what would hurt her more, if he walked away because he saw her and remembered her, or if he walked away because he forgot about her.
Lily wasn’t a bragger, but she knew for a fact he had fun with her a year ago. She remembered enough of that night to know that he’d been really, really enjoying it. Not many men would get between her legs for her, and very few actually made her scream. No, he’d been one of two, and he’d been the best of all.
Lily crossed her legs, trying to ignore the heat gathering on her face (and in other places) as she recounted that night. Sadly, her body wasn’t listening to her imploring thoughts. She felt like a damn animal in heat, the way her entire body was strung up, waiting for his reappearance.
Beside her, the emo guy helping the old Lady change her voicemail sent her a sidelong glance randomly, and Lily felt a blush raise on her cheeks when his eyes grazed up and down her body as if he were checking her out. She didn’t drop his gaze, and instead offered him a smile. His gray eyes snapped back to the old lady and spoke to her in a smooth tone that didn’t seem the least bit flustered.
She looked down at her candy-colored nails, the pink already chipping from scrubbing her hands too much at work. The phone on the table in front of her buzzed with a text from her girls' chat. Marlene sent a photo of a plate of tacos in the shape of a heart. Lily smiled and opened her phone, hearting the photo. As she did so, the grandmother finished her session and walked away, leaving the emo kid free. Lily looked up from her phone quickly, expecting him to turn to her, but instead, he had his back turned to her as he talked into his headset.
“No, I won’t stall for you—Prongs! Don’t argue with me.” He sounded stressed, as if whoever was on the other end was ruining his life. “Then get out here, you idiot.”
Whoever was on the other end was clearly addressing the whole store through that headset, as Lily witnessed the sweater vest-wearing, scrawny boy, and the long-haired brunette nearby all turning to send looks in Emo’s direction with raised brows. Lily couldn’t help but feel as if they were all looking at her too, despite her not being privy to the conversation happening.
“Hi,” someone touched Lily’s shoulder from behind, making her turn in surprise.
A baby-faced woman with bubblegum-pink hair smiled kindly. “Have you been checked in?”
“Oh,” Lily blinked owlishly, feeling stupid for thinking everyone was looking at her. “Uhm, yes, Lily Evans? Screen repair?”
“Our screen repair guy is stuck on the phone with a customer in the back,” she said cheerily, “but he should be out soon.”
“Oh, there’s a guy?” Lily said in surprise. “I thought screen replacements were kinda a universal genius bar thing.”
“Oh, we can all do it,” The girl’s name tag told Lily her name was Tonks, “but someone called dibs already.”
“Dibs?” Lily didn’t miss that Emo kid was cackling as he typed something into his iPad.
“Did I say dibs?” Tonks put a finger on her lips. “I meant he was assigned to you by the boss.”
“Who’s the boss?”
“He is.”
Suddenly, the door behind them slammed open, and a body stumbled out quite dramatically. Lily perked up at the sight of the familiar form. Sporty boy was back! His black hair was even more wild around his head, as if he’d been running his fingers through it non-stop since he’d disappeared. His glasses were skewed too, but it only made him so much more attractive, to see how flustered he was.
Tonks peered around Lily’s shoulder, her pink hair falling into her eyes. “Smooth entrance, Potter.”
“Thanks for holding down the fort, Nymphadora,” Potter said. “I can take her from here.”
Lily’s eyes traced his tall form, realizing it had been a long time since she’d been able to admire it. When her gaze returned to his face, her eyes met brown orbs that looked delighted to know she’d been openly checking him out. Lily’s mouth opened, but no sound came out. She brushed nervously at her red curls, biting her lip as James waltzed over to her at the bar, leaning against it so he was only a foot or so away from her.
“Hi,” his voice was smooth, like an ASMR streamer. “I’m James Potter.”
“Hi,” she almost choked on her own spit. “Hi.”
James’ fingers trailed along the edge of the bar, casual yet deliberate, as he said, “I heard you rang for a genius?”
Lily’s mouth quivered when she heard Tonks sigh loudly. The emo guy slammed his palm against his head, as if James had embarrassed them all. Sweater vest physically gagged. James just kept smiling at her though, as if he could tell she was attracted to him regardless of his cheesy pickup lines. And it was true, she was.
“I heard you are the only one in this store who can help me,” Lily flirted, watching his eyes light up at the challenge. “I had no idea you were so important.”
“Me either, to be honest.” He placed his chin on his hand, supported by his elbow against the bar. “What was your name again?”
Lily tucked her hair behind her ear. “Lily Evans? We met about a year ago at a party.”
His eyes seemed to sparkle as he replied smoothly, “Oh, I remember how we met, it was just your name that escaped me last year.”
The blush was uncontrollable now as she reached out a hand for him to shake. “It’s nice to see you again.”
“You have no idea how nice it is to see you again.” James’ grin grew wider. “And on Valentine's Day, no less.”
"I know how to make an entrance." She managed weakly.
James' eyes were molten gold mixed with green flecks, "you sure do, especially in that dress."
“Get a room,” the guy in the sweater vest muttered.
“How about yours, Remus?” James shot back, a bite in his tone.
Remus pretended to be interested in his customer's macbook in response. When Lily looked back at James, she felt a punch to the gut as she saw nothing but pure lust in his eyes. She could practically pinpoint where his mind had dropped, thanks to his eyes staring at her breasts, which were practically popping out of the corset cut top of her dress.
“Like what you see?” She asked boldly.
"Yes." He cleared his throat, and her eyes dropped to his mouth when he licked his lip and then curled the edges up to smile confidently.
Hazel eyes.
His eyes were hazel, and she’d forgotten that, so now all her memories were being replayed with coy hazel eyes that undressed her without even trying. He wasn't even trying to hide it, especially not right now.
“Well, what can I help you with today?” James asked, breaking her concentration on his eyes.
Dinner. She thought desperately. A quick go in the back of the storage room. Instead she offered, “I think I cracked my phone screen.”
James looked down at the phone in question. Lily picked it up, popping off the blue protective case in one fluid motion, before handing it to him. She fiddled with the case as he turned the phone over in his hands once.
“And you’re sure it’s not just the screen protector?”
Lily shook her head no, “I tried to pull it off, twice, but couldn't get it, so I’m pretty sure I forgot to put the protection screen thing on when I got my new case.”
“Oh Lily,” James clucked his tongue, “always use protection.”
Oh, that was the wrong thing to say.
Her brain immediately fluttered into the pit of her stomach with ideas of all the things they could do with protection. God, she hadn’t been so turned on since the last time he’d gotten her into bed with him…only this time it was daylight and she hadn’t had a single thing to drink.
Pure thoughts, Lily Evans. She thought. He’s just a guy. A hot, cool, incredibly charming guy. Fuck it, I’m screwed.
James casually picked at her phone screen, seemingly ignoring the desire flickering in her eyes as he remarked, “The glass shouldn’t stick up like that; I think it’s just a screen protector.”
“I really don’t think–”
Watching in mortification, Lily winced as he used his thumbnail to pry at the glass. Suddenly, a sound of unsticking reached her ears as he removed a screen case from her phone's actual glass. Redness flooded her face for an entirely different reason. She’d been a total, utter, helpless idiot for bringing her phone here.
It hadn’t been broken at all.
“Oh my god,” she whispered, “Oh, no, no, no, no!! I am such an idiot.”
“No!” He quickly reassured her, “You’re not an idiot!”
Lily felt herself spiraling with embarrassment, realizing she just hadn’t pulled hard enough to separate the sticky tape from the glass. “I swear—I tried so hard—I thought it was the screen.”
His thumb brushed the side of her wrist in comfort, but instead of soothing her, it sent a wave of shame coursing through her stomach. “It’s an honest mistake; it was securely fastened.”
“Yeah,” she squeaked, noticing he had leaned closer over the counter, now mere inches from her face.
“Seriously,” he seemed so amused, and that only humiliated her further, “it’s fine, I won't even charge you.”
She didn’t know if she’d ever felt more stupid, and in front of the hottest guy she knew, too. “I’m really sorry for wasting your time.” He searched her face as if seeking something within it. Lily withdrew her hand from his shyly and then grabbed her phone. “I’ll just go, thank you, um, bye.”
Trying to escape the awkward situation, she hurried out, acutely aware of the stares from those around them who had witnessed the embarrassing exchange. She slipped her unprotected phone under the strap of her dress and brushed her hair behind her ears as she rushed to her car in the parking lot.
“Dumb, stupid, idiot.” she muttered over and over to herself, repeating the whole scene in her head. “How did you graduate college with a science degree, but you can’t even pull a fucking phone condom off.”
She reached her car in record time, the lingering sense of humiliation mingling with a cocktail of other emotions churning in her gut. Her plan now was simple: she would rendezvous with her friends at the taco place and immerse herself in a flight of margaritas. Maybe if she got intoxicated enough, she could erase this entire fiasco from her memory. As she finished flinging her bag onto the console of the passenger seat, she heard footsteps approaching from behind.
Turning abruptly, she was startled to find James from the Genius Bar standing there, a friendly smile gracing his features. “Hey, Lily.”
“Hi,” she managed, her voice high-pitched from her embarrassment.
HIs eyes dropped to the phone, precariously held between her pale skin and tiny spaghetti thick dress strap. “Why do girls stuff everything right there?”
Lily looked down at her phone and then back up to him, feigning tucking her hands into the folds of her dress skirt, “most girls clothes don’t have pockets–so we improvise.”
“Interesting.” He then asked promptly, “Did you know that I worked here?”
“No,” she swore, as the wind made her skirts gather around her legs, “I swear, I had no idea.”
A light flickered in his eyes, “that’s a shame.”
“Why a shame?”
“I was hoping you made up that entire thing about the glass cracking just to talk to me.” He grinned. “But you genuinely thought it was broken, didn’t you?”
“You were hoping I was lying?” Lily blinked owlishly at him, “really?”
He lifted a lunchbox in his hand, smiling awkwardly. “I only have an hour for lunch; why don’t we catch up, and we can talk about what I was hoping for.”
“What?” Lily asked, not comprehending anything because her hormones were cheering excitedly.
“Sorry,” he tucked the lunchbox behind his back again, “did you not want to eat with me? I think I may have gotten mixed signals from you back in the store…”
“Eat with you?” she repeated. “ With you?”
“I know it’s been a while,” he was rambling, “I know we aren’t even like–friends–but you showed up and I–I nearly had a heart attack seeing you again. A heart attack in the good way–not a bad way. You are definitely good. All good. So good.”
Lily still had one hand on her car door, her chest rising and falling as she struggled to find the words. “I–I’m an idiot who can’t tell the difference between a screen cover and a phone screen…and you want to have lunch with me?”
James shrugged, “despite working at the genius bar–” Lily offered him a snort of amusement, “--I prefer idiots, don’t you?”
“You're not an idiot,” Lily said, motioning to all of him, “you’re–you’re that .”
“Eloquent,” his smile was so wide, his eyes crinkled at the edges. “But I’m 100% just as much an idiot as you.”
“How so?”
“I was an idiot for ever letting you go without a number to text you at.”
She felt her stomach erupt with pleasant butterflies. “What?”
James looked down at her body, then back up at her eyes with a coy wink. “Truthfully, I've been wondering where you disappeared to for a year now and would really like to catch up. I’d also really love your number, for your working phone, just in case you ever need a genius to fix it again. Is that okay?”
Lily felt like she might be dreaming. She pinched her arm. It hurt. Thank god. “This isn’t a joke, right?”
“No,” James walked forward, almost flush with her person now. “I do love a good joke, though.”
“Really?” He was so close, she could count the tiny freckles dotting his tan nose.
James' hand brushed her arm, sending shivers racing up it. “What’s the best book to read while eating breakfast?”
Lily felt a smile replacing her confused expression as she leaned up on her tiptoes, allowing his free hand to cup her chin. “What book?”
“Much Ado About Muffin.”
"You're right, you are an idiot." She rolled her eyes, but her tone was flirtatious, "a really, really cute idiot."
"They'll hire just about anyone to work the Genius Bar these days."
Lily didn’t wait anymore; she grabbed a fistful of his shirt and pulled him down, letting her lips muffle his laughter.
She could still feel his smile through the kiss though, even when he opened his mouth to taste her with an eager fever she had forgotten about. She kissed him back harder, especially when she heard his lunch bag fall to the ground near their feet, and both his hands grabbed hold of her long hair to keep her firmly attached. He tasted like mint gum, like he'd just been chewing it before coming to find her. Like he'd planned for this exact scenario to happen.
She almost swooned at the thought.
Finally, what felt like only a second later, he broke off the kiss. When her eyes opened, she saw nothing but him, and that only made her smile grow wider. His hands remained in her hair, but he tugged them forward to cup her cheeks, bringing the red strands with him.
“So,” he said somewhat breathlessly, “lunch date?”
"What'd you have in mind?"
"Calling out of work, taking you home, and ordering pizza for a long movie we won't watch."
Lily stepped forward, about to kiss him again for suggesting it, but then she felt her chunky heel step on something, and a resounding crack filled the air. Lily thought it might be the lunch bag he’d dropped, and for just a second she hoped, but whatever was under her foot was smaller. She looked down, face white, and all she saw were broken bits of glass under her heel. Her heart plummeted from its high as she stared down at her broken phone.
“I broke my phone,” she realized, lifting her foot to show a screen in tiny bits and pieces. “Oh my god, I really broke it this time.”
James untangled himself from her and leaned down, picking it up carefully, and they watched as it disintegrated into multiple pieces in his hand. His eyes lifted from the phone to her. She stared back at him. Lily fell against her car, pressing her hands into her hair as she processed her disbelief. James' mouth was partially open, like she'd just stunned him to silence.
“I can’t believe this!” she half laugh, half cried, while wiping her eyes. "I can't fucking believe this!"
Then, James doubled over with laughter, weeping from the irony of it all. Lily crossed one leg over the other as she laughed too, her head rolling back against her car. Passerby in the parking lot shared attempts like they were lunatics for laughing so hard. It only made them laugh harder.
"What am I going to do?" Lily cried, her side in stitches. "Oh god, I haven't even paid that phone off yet!"
"I can't believe you broke it!" James wiped the tears from his eyes, "oh my god, your luck!"
"Oh fuck," Lily pressed a hand to her forehead, "I don't know why I'm laughing, this is actually so bad, I need my phone for work."
James walked forward to plant a firm kiss on her mouth before reminding her, “Don’t worry, you know a genius who can fix it.”

You quietly excuse yourself from the table, leaving Seungmin alone while you quickly walk to the library bathroom. You and Seungmin had gone to the movies earlier in the day to take advantage of the discounted prices before you went to study for midterms. Having gone from the movies to the library, you didn't bother turning your ringer on. It was only by chance that you went into your bag to get your laptop charger that you saw your sister was calling you.
"Sorry, my ringer was--"
"Y/n," You're cut off by Iseul's voice. It's low and shaky, causing you to panic immediately.
"What's wrong? What happened?" You nervously play with the hem of your shirt as you wait for your sister to talk.
"It's dad, he had another heart attack." She whispers into the phone. Or maybe she said it at a normal volume. You're not entirely sure, your heart is pounding so loudly, that you can't hear anything.
"Where are you?"
"The hospital. The same one he was in last time. But Y/n, I think it's worse this time."
"H-how bad?" You bite your lip to keep from completely falling apart in the bathroom.
"I don't know. The doctors are saying a lot of things that mom and I don't understand but...Y/n, Changbin needs to be here too. I don't want to ask you to have to get him but when I called it went straight to voicemail."
"Yeah, he shuts his phone off when he's tattooing someone. I'll go get him and meet you at the hospital. Just--fuck, just--" Tears start welling up in your eyes.
"I know, I know. I love you, see you soon."
"Love you too."
You hang up the phone and lean your back against the bathroom wall, just trying to catch your breath. Your father has had a handful of heart attacks before, but that never stops you from worrying. And if you have to tell Changbin this time, it must be really bad. Like, on his deathbed bad. Your father had forbade you, your mother, and your sister from telling Changbin about his heart attacks. He would always go on about how if Changbin really cared about him or the family then he wouldn't have "disgraced" the Seo name the way he did. None of you argued back out of fear of giving him another attack.
You take a deep, shaky breath before leaving the bathroom and heading back to the table where Seungmin is typing away on his laptop. His attention is pulled away from his work as you scramble to put your stuff in your bag.
"What's wrong?" Seungmin quietly closes his laptop and it in his bag.
"No, stay and study. I have to go." You keep your head down so Seungmin can't see your glossy eyes.
"What happened?" His hand reaches out and lands on yours.
"My dad--" You let out a sigh, "my dad is in the hospital. I need to go."
"Okay, let's go." He picks up the pace gathering his things.
"Minnie, it's fine, really." You zip up your bag and sling it across your shoulder.
"You're not fine. You're trying not to cry right now, I can tell. Plus, Minho hyung let me borrow the car for today, it'll be faster." You finally look up at Seungmin, a cool tear falling down your face. Seungmin reaches over the table and wipes the tear with the pad of his thumb.
"Thank you," You whisper, giving him a small smile.
***
The first time your father had a heart attack is forever engrained in your memory. It's the one memory you wish you could forget. You were 16 and home alone with your father. Iseul was on campus almost an hour away and your mother was out having dinner with some friends. You were still hungry even after dinner at the after-school academy you attended. Your father, who was home earlier than usual, sat with you while you had your second dinner. It was actually a nice moment. It was the first time you had seen your father smile in weeks and the two of you bonded. It was a picture-perfect moment until his breathing shortened and he grabbed his arm in pain. You watch in horror as his eyes rolled to the back of his head and he collapsed to the ground. You can still remember the feeling of having to perform CPR as you waited for the ambulance.
You can't help but feel like you're 16 again, sitting in the same waiting room for one of the doctors to talk to you. The only difference, you're not alone. Your head is resting on Seungmin's chest as he gently strokes your back. Iseul is consoling your mom, trying not to cry herself and Changbin is sitting beside you, abnormally quiet. He hasn't spoken a word since you told him that your father was in the hospital. You're not entirely sure what's going on in his head. His expression is stoic and unreadable. He didn't even react when you took his hand with your free and to give him some comfort.
"The Seo family?" A tall doctor with platinum-dyed hair calls into the waiting room. Seungmin takes his arm off of you so you can get up.
You and your family gather in front of the doctor, Changbin gripping your hand. You're not sure if he's doing it to comfort you or because he needs the comfort himself. Either way, you squeeze his hand back.
"How's my husband?" Your mother asks, her voice dry from all the crying she did earlier.
"Your husband is fine, Mrs. Seo. We ran extensive tests and determined that he suffered from a myocardial infarction. Luckily, we were able to stabilize him for now. But, because of his history of heart attack, we feel it would best if we went ahead with a coronary artery bypass as soon as possible." The doctor explains. Changbin's hand goes limp in yours.
"A coronary artery bypass? That sounds dangerous. Is it dangerous?" Iseul asks, looking more at you than the doctor.
"It's a major invasive surgery. It's risky, but I'm guessing if they're suggesting a CABG, a stent or an angioplasty aren't viable options." You turn your attention to the doctor, who looks like a medical student herself, to get confirmation of your suspicions.
"Uh--yes, that's correct. Are you a medical student?" She asks, taken aback by you.
"Not exactly. How soon would you be performing the surgery?" You ask.
"We do want to work as soon as possible but we also don't want to cause more damage in its already vulnerable state. So we're going to monitor him for the next couple of days to give him a better chance of survival." She explains. Your mother turns to you and you quietly nod.
"Okay, we'll do that if that's the best course of action. Can we go see him?" Your mother asks.
"He's resting right now in the ICU and we're only letting one person at a time." The doctor explains.
"Go, mom, you should go sit with him first." Iseul gently pushes your mother in the direction of the doctor and the two of them disappear into the hallway.
You turn to rejoin Seungmin on the couch and explain everything to him and your siblings again when you're jerked back. Changbin's grip on you tightens again.
"Explain," His voice cracks.
"A myocardial infarction is--"
"No, not that. The doctor said 'history of heart attacks.' What was she talking about?" Isuel turns around and joins the two of you back in the middle of the waiting room.
"Changbin--"
"Dad told us not to tell you." Iseul cuts you off. She give you a look. She knew you were going to try to calm him down and avoid this conversation altogether.
"So he's had a heart attack before?" He lets go of your hand.
"A few times, but they were all minor. With the right diet and exercise--" You explain.
"A few times?"
"Four," You clarify.
"Four!" He shouts, causing a few people to look
"Changbin, please lower your voice," Iseul warns.
"Our father had four fucking heart attacks and neither of you told me?" He spits. His lips pulled back to expose clenched teeth and eyes gazing intently at you and Iseul.
"I wanted to tell you. I tried to tell you the first time it happened. I was alone and scared and I just wanted my big brother there but you were being a stubborn asshole dodging my calls.”
“You still had all this time to tell me.” He crosses his arm.
“Really? How? ‘Changbinnie oppa, can you pass me the potatoes? Oh, dad almost keeled over and died several times, each time more terrifying than the last by the way, while you live your best life in Seoul.’ You do remember that when you actually did start talking to me again you would immediately shut down any time I mentioned dad. Even if I was allowed to tell you, you wouldn’t have even given me the chance to do so.” Remembering where you are, you hold back screams of frustration and ignore the heat rising to your head.
“You’re smart, you should have found a way to make me listen."
"I was 16, Changbin. What did you want me to do? Take a bus to the city, track you down, and drag you back here myself?" Your fists ball in anger, nails digging into the palm of your hands.
"You could--"
"Okay, enough. We are in a hospital and the two of you are acting like children. Y/n, go sit with Seungmin and calm down. Changbin, outside," Iseul says, physically getting in between the two of you.
You roll your eyes off at your brother and stomp off towards Seungmin, who quietly envelops you in a hug. You watch as Iseul drags Changbin outside of the waiting room.
***
"Y/n, I don't think this is such a good idea," Seungmin whispers.
You've been in the hospital for a few hours. The hospital raised the one-person-in-the-room rule to two people because your father is doing slightly better. That and Changbin didn't want to go in alone and nearly threw a fit. Seungmin only came with you for comfort, not feeling entirely comfortable himself.
"I'm just checking something, relax." You brush off Seungmin as you grab your father's chart, flipping through it.
"You're not even a doctor, those charts are going to tell you much." He says, checking the door of the room.
"You and I both know that I'm just as smart, maybe even smarter, than some of the doctors here. And the charts will tell me enough. They might try to push to do the surgery tomorrow and my mom and Iseul are going to look to me for advice and I don't want to fuck up." You flip to the last page, finding the most recent results. You've been in the hospital for the last 8 hours and they've been taking tests every hour.
"I think you're just looking for a distraction so you don't lose your mind." Seungmin comes and takes the clipboard away from you and puts it back in its place.
"Maybe I am, but I can be productive while I distract myself."
"Yeah, but not this way. You're just going to stress yourself out more. C'mon, let's go back to the waiting room and get you a snack. Pretty sure your mom wanted to come back in here anyway." Seungmin squishes your cheeks and gives you a quick peck on the lips.
"What..the hell is going on here?" A small voice croaks.
You quickly turn around to find your father slowly trying to sit up. You run over to him to try to get him to lie back down. He should be asleep right now, the hospital gave him something to make him sleep. Sleep heals the body and they wanted his heart to be as strong as possible before the surgery.
"Dad, lay back down. You had a major heart attack, you should be resting." You say trying to settle him.
"Whose that?" He asks, gesturing to Seungmin.
"Oh, uh... I'm Kim Seungmin, sir. Third-year pre-law student at JYP University. I wish we met under better circumstances." Seungmin bows in respect while still hiding off in the corner.
"What is in your nose?" He asks, disregarding Seungmin. You completely forgot to flip your septum ring inside your nose. You were out with Seungmin earlier and with everything going on, it was the last thing you thought of.
"Dad, why don't we take a deep breath--"
"Is this what's going on at that school? You're getting D's in your courses because you're traipsing around with boys and putting holes in your face?" He says, his voice raising an octave.
"Seungmin, can you please give us some privacy?" You ask quietly. Seungmin freezes for a second before leaving the room.
"What has gotten into you?" Your father asks, trying to sit back up again. You press your lips as your eyes flash to the heart monitor, his heart rate slowly increasing.
"Dad, let's talk about this later. You shouldn't be getting upset right now." You gently push him back down again.
"I'm fine. You, on the other hand, are going around doing god knows what with god knows who in the city. I knew I shouldn't have let you live with your brother."
"Changbin has nothing to do with this."
"There you go again, dropping honorifics. You even did that with that, that boy who was just in here who I have no doubt is older than you."
"Dad, please calm down. This conversation can wait, really."
"You are supposed to be the smart one. The one who makes good decisions. And now you're no better than your brother. You always followed him around everywhere but I never thought you'd turn out like him. I should have sent you to live with Iseul. At least she would been a better influence."
"Dad, your heart--"
"You're worried about my heart? You are causing my heart stress by being a disappointment. Go home if you're so worried. Give me and my heart a break."
You swallow the lump in your throat and leave, not wanting to make your father upset your father further. A nurse rushes into the room just as you leave. You wipe the tears with the back of your hand as you walk back to the part of the waiting room where your family is waiting. Your mother and Changbin are nowhere to be seen. You wordlessly grab your backpack and your jacket and throw them on.
"Seungmin, can you take me home?" You whisper. He nods silently as he gathers his things.
"What's going on?" Iseul asks, watching in confusion as both you and Seungmin gather your things.
"Dad's awake," You mumble to your sister, rubbing your face in exhaustion.
"Min told me, but why are you leaving?" She looks up at you, even more confused.
"I'm just respecting his wishes and leaving." You say flatly, leaving your sister in a confused stupor.
***
Thump
You wake up at the sound of a random noise in your apartment. You feel Seungmin's grip around your waist tighten at the noise. You look at the clock in the corner of your room.
5:32 am
You groan and turn around to face Seungmin. Chan must have dropped something on his way back in from work. Or maybe Jisung tripped on his way back to his room.
It was pretty late when you got home from the hospital. Exhausted by the day's events, you took a hot shower and immediately went to bed. Seungmin didn't like the idea of leaving you alone and was determined to spend the night just in case you needed him. A small gesture you were grateful for because you did need him. Your father's words replayed in your head as you made your way home. Sure, he's been mad at you before, but he's never called you a disappointment. You've spent years busting your ass trying to please him and all it took was one bad grade, a boyfriend, and some jewelry for him to shit on all your hard work.
Squeak
Your ears perk up at the sound of your bedroom door being opened. You meant to do something about the squeaky door months ago, but it was almost like a bell for sneak attacks from your roommates.
"Agi oli? Are you awake?" You head Changbin whisper. His voice close.
You turn back around, causing Seungmin to groan in his sleep. Your constant moving waking him up.
"I am now," You mumble. You two were on speaking terms, he bought you a canned coffee while you were at the hospital to silently apologize.
You sit up, reaching to turn on the light. Changbin's hand reaches out to stop you.
"Don't turn on the light," He whispers.
"Why are you home? Why aren't you back at the hospital?" You whisper, rubbing your eyes.
"He's gone," He chokes out.
Everything in the room stills. You feel Seungmin sit up from beside you, hand on your shoulder as you lay there for a second. Maybe you're still dreaming. Maybe you're having a nightmare. Your heart pounds in your chest and your blood turns cold as neither Seungmin nor Changbin says anything.
"W-what?" You sputter out.
"Y/n, dad's gone," Changbin says a little louder. You quickly sit up and turn the light on despite Changbin's protest.
The light flips on and you're face to face with Changbin. His eyes are bloodshot, large, and brimmed with tears. His face is red and puffy, the corner of his lips pulled down, shaking as he tried to stop the overwhelming emotion.
You get up from the bed, no real purpose to your actions. You walk around, fiddling with random things on your desk, not even fully present in your own mind. This can't be happening.
"Y/n--" Seungmin starts, getting off the bed to comfort you. Changbin, who is kneeling by your bed, drops his head in his hands.
"No, don't!" You yell quietly, taking a step back.
"Y/n, it's okay. I'm here," Seungmin approaches you slowly, arms stretched out.
Your chest feels hollow and tight all at the same time. It feels like a fist is slowly closing over your heart, nausea churning your stomach.
"He woke up, he was going to be fine." Your voice trembles. Seungmin quickly wraps his arms around you as your knees collapse under you. Both of you fall to the floor, Seungmin holding you tighter as a choked sob escapes your throat. You gasped between cries, barely able to catch the breath needed for the next as Seungmin rubs soothing circles in your back.
You don't hear the door open as Chan, who had just come home, poked his head into your room to hear what the commotion was. He quickly takes in the scene and goes to comfort Changbin, understanding what happened. A few minutes later, Felix and Jisung make their way into your room. Your crying concerned Jisung, who woke up Felix and convinced him to go with him to check it out. Not entirely sure what is going on, not being fully awake themselves, both of them spring into action trying to help Seungmin and Chan console you and Changbin.

Not me idly wondering what are the jaegers made of, checking out the wiki and once again going mad with crumbs:
a) I reject Mark 1s being made out of iron bc that's just. Not a thing. This sentiment started the mess below.
b) Gottlieb's dad started The Jaeger Program! Tony Stark had a dad! It's all according to plan.
c) The PR lore is insane and I love it.
"I reject that thesis and raise you this," Stark spins his chair around to point his pen at Amadeus's face. "My suits are just that good."
Amadeus raises an eyebrow. "All the seals melted," he says. "We had to cut Robbie out of it. He should've cooked, even if the flame retardant held up. You know there's more to it, and if you backed me up--"
"Oh, there sure is more to it. More body horror I want nowhere near my lab." Stark shudders. "Let's just be glad he made it and leave it at that, huh?"
It takes every ounce of Amadeus's professionalism not to say 'nuh-huh'. He's already laid out his theory. As tempting as it is to go around in circles until he wears Stark down, they have other work to do. It's just--it's so bloody frustrating! He joined the jaeger program specifically to study demon biology and its influence to exposed humans, and he's been stuck mid-maxing the rangers' reaction times like some run of the mill engineer.
He's seen what happens to people who trade in demon remains without protective equipment. The initial increase in strength and agility gives way to organ failure as soon as the corruption reaches the bloodstream. The longest documented survival rate was less than seventy-two hours from exposure and judging by the case footage still replaying occasionally in Amadeus's nightmares, the poor woman wasn't holding scholarly conversations in the last twenty-four.
Now, the exposure must be physical - drifting with the lesser categories haven't shown to cause the same rapid tissue degradation. The beastie riders down in the Bone Slums reported occasional headaches and weird dreams, but it's impossible to verify without independent study, and, well. Then there's Robbie.
Robbie has never drifted, period, before the accident with The Charger. His sudden physical improvements could be easily explained away by access to regular meals and a brutal training regime, and he passed medical before even approaching a jaeger. There is nothing about him - nothing that Amadeus has found so far, at least - that differs from any of the other rangers, other than, oh, being able to drift solo with the most haunted piece of technology ever allowed into military use. And now, apparently, withstanding an over twelve hundred degrees Celcius firestorm.
The media nicknamed the demon Inferno - there wasn't time for anything more creative. The whole Cam Ranh Bay turned to glass, eleven thousand dead, two whole jaegers reduced to slag. The only reason there is any Vietnam left to mourn the losses is still cooling in the sea outside the Shatterdome. The Charger isn't made of anything special, it's the same steel alloys as all the other Mark-2s. When Inferno threw up it's fiery guts all over it, Amadeus started mentally composing a way to break the news to Gabe - like hell he was going to let Ivanov field that one - and he's still not entirely convinced he hasn't hit his head and imagined the way the black jaeger's chains flew out of the fire to wrap around the demon's neck.
It's still black, although no longer from paint. The techs are already busy scrubbing it down and replacing the fried electronics, because at least something got damaged to prove Robbie didn't just teleport his mech in and out of the battle. At this point, there is no discounting any possible scenario. Maybe if he ran a Pons simulation with the Icebox protocol...
Stark sighs. "Kid, let me give you some sage advice," he says. His tone is suddenly very serious - enough to get Amadeus's attention. "Do you know what the military does with weird shit they can't explain?"
"What are you--?"
"One of two things," Stark slaps a finger to his open palm. "Either they pretend everything is hunky-dory as long as the weird shit does what they want, or," he adds a second finger, "someone complains about the weird shit enough that they lock it up, out of sight. So they can speed-run their tests. Are you picking up? What I'm putting down, here?"
Amadeus swallows past the lump in his throat. "You own the Jaeger Program."
Stark rolls his eyes. "You're confusing me with my father again. Keep up." His expression softens somewhat. "Look, I don't like it either."
"Save it," Amadeus pulls on his coat. "I'm going out."
"Cho, don't be--"
"See you at the debrief."

Does electrokinesis mean shadow never needs a phone charger?
Yes, though it's part of the reason his phone is a DIY nightmare wrapped in duct tape because he had to replace the battery the first time he accidentally blew it up.
Shadow's electrokinesis outputs discharges based on his emotional state. This can be anything from tiny ball lightning motes to an actual jumping spark. He has enough control to not injure other people around him, so if you're on friendly terms you can safely use him as a personal hedgehog-shaped plasma ball.
The most it disrupts his life is that he's accidentally acquired a reputation his house is haunted since at any given time he's eyeballs deep in both work-and-pleasure-related projects which are not confined to his tiny garage workshop, and stray discharges tend to unpredictably power up the machinery around him causing a lot of erratic behavior with no particular source, producing unusual lights and sounds as a result.
His eclectic collection of weapons and jury-rigged alarm/detection systems don't help him seem particularly approachable, either, but he's not intentionally scaring away his neighbors. He actually first met Cream when a couple of other kids dared her to go knock on the door of the supposed 'murder house'.
She suspected his reputation was unsubstantiated because he was wearing chao slippers at the time. (they were in the bargain bin at Discount Ring)
