Look everybody, it's my feral fic that once again completely got out of hand
Uprooted
Ty is a newly transferred LT to the Coruscant Guard. Lilo is a medic. Both have loved and both have lost. Both need someone in their lives to keep them upright in a war that takes and never gives.
OR its a friends to lovers, bc i am a sappy idiot
(it comes with music recs :) )
Featuring the amazing OC's of @imrowanartist, @anstarwar and @itsstrangelypermanent
Snippet:
“So what’s your name?” they asked instead as they shone a light in his eyes.
“It’s Ty,” Ty said and obediently sat still for Lilo to do their job.
“Know anyone here already?” Lilo asked. It was an innocent enough question. Most batches had close ties with other batches and all those troopers were deployed in such as wide range that there was always the chance that he already had a batchmate or friend here.
“Nah,” Ty said though, “don’t know anybody here. Lots of new introductions.” And there was that grin again. It looked practiced.
“Well, here’s another new introduction,” Lilo said, clicked out the little light and stretched out their hand, “I’m Lilo, it’s they/them for me, and you definitely have a concussion.”
“Nice to meet you, Lilo,” Ty said as he shook their hand, “sorry about the concussion.”
Lilo lifts an eyebrow, “Why are you apologizing? Can you tell me what happened? Frankly, I am surprised you are even coherent right now.”
“Poke gave me a stim,” Ty said as he scratched the back of his neck, “and— there was a riot. On one of the levels. As I said, someone banged me on the head. But there were civilian casualties as well. Poke’s help was more needed elsewhere, so— they send me here.”

Anomaly
For the @911angstinautumn fic fest!
Evan "Buck" Buckley/Eddie Diaz | 23.4k words | M | 2/2 Chapters
Summary: Buck almost felt like he should be grateful.
He wasn’t the first person for it to happen to. And a lot of the stories he had heard about those first people were far worse.
Horror stories had plagued the news of people blacking out and waking up on a cold metal table. They were poked and prodded and cut into. The pain, they said, was unimaginable.
Then, they would wake up in their beds. Traumatized.
And pregnant with their own clone.
OR: Aliens abduct and impregnate Buck, and his family helps him through it—Eddie most of all.

Do you want another Jangosoka concept?
Concept is that Boba finds a… something on Tatooine that looks like Weird Force Shit. He does not know any Jedi or Sith, personally, but he knows three people who do have connections to Jedi:
Han Solo, whom he has on speed dial despite hating each other, and losing most of his contacts with his comm when the Sarlacc ate him
Din Djarin, whose kid goes to school Somewhere With Jedi? Maybe? he's not entirely clear on how much contact Djarin has with Skywalker these days
Bo-Katan Kryze, who has Ahsoka Tano on speed dial
Obviously, he goes through Bo-Katan first, because Ahsoka Tano knows more about general Force things than the latest Skywalker, and has less of a Direct Grudge against Boba himself.
So he makes a call and tries to ignore the Weird Force Thing that he just poked. He waits a few days.
Ahsoka shows up. She holds the thing. It is confusing.
They have a stupid argument built on Uncomfortable History at some point, and Boba being a grump, and he snatches it from her, managing to slice his finger on one of the edges.
A few drops of blood get on the weird force thing, and there is a flash of light, and suddenly there's a half-dead Jango Fett in the room.
Like "He has visible burns on his neck from Mace's lightsaber, but still has his head, as if he was pulled through time from the very moment before of his death."
Which Big Oops
Boba is panicking. Ahsoka is trying not to admit she's freaked out. Jango is. clawing as his throat dude stop that.
Ahsoka's the one that had enough brains to call for a medic and keeps sitting at his side to keep a Very Judgemental Eye on him, but she's. You know. Jedi. So Jango is constantly suspicious of her.
(He thinks Boba is a faulty fast-aging clone, like 99, because that's the only thing that makes sense.) (Also he doesn't acknowledge Ahsoka's "I'm not a Jedi" thing.)
Ahsoka's had thirty years to come to terms with the death of her people but she's also, for obvious reasons, still judgmental as fuck and has a lot of questions.
But also this was necromancy, which is Sith Or Nightsister Bullshit, and she needs to make sure he's not about to get possessed and go hunting for Force Sensitive babies or something insane like that.
(The reason the object drew Jango is because of the totally coincidental identical DNA. Turns out the object is intended to bring back the dead using a body sample of the corpse, but identical blood will do if there's a dead person with the same.)
IDK where exactly it goes from here but it's 44yo Jango, 45yo Boba, and 49 Ahsoka Plus Fennec, who's just hanging around
They need to bring around someone Jango actually knows and will trust, because obviously Boba is a fake and Ahsoka's a liar and this is all some weird Jedi trick.
Options are Maz Kanata (who's definitely old enough to remember him), or Bo-Katan herself, except they try Bo since she's closer and it turns out she was still a toddler when Jango went missing so that's not going to help at all.
Mij or one of the other Cuy'val Dar could theoretically still be alive, and Sabine has parents that might have known him before they joined up with Pre.
Fennec knowing him would be a BIT too easy.
I'm imagining that the call goes as Boba explaining that, well, there's this one guy that he knows, that his dad was close with, but the Sarlacc kind of ate his comm unit and he hasn't had the time or resources to hunt down all his contact numbers and whatnot yet, so he's not sure how to go about actually calling the guy, and so they have to politely ask Bo-Katan if she, as Mand'alor, can find the contact information for one Mij Gilamar. Boba's pretty sure he's still running a clinic on Insert Planet Here, so it shouldn't be too hard to get, it's just kind of impossible from Tatooine.

I am begging for more explanation about the Rex-gets-his-balls-cut-off AU
oh MAN its a few years old and very heavy themes but the summary of that part is that in this au post 66 Rex fallen way off da wagon and goes from shitty job to shittier job until he's getting traded around doing slave labor and one of the slavers he ends up with castrates their workers and then he got p feeble and weaker until he was basically a rat in a box and- oh yeah this is an au where Fives doesn't DIE because we all have one of those, so instead of being shot Fives is instead chased off world by some Corrie guards and his ship is shot down on a very remote planet/the reports labeled him then as deceased and Rex took that shit at face value (stupid) but it leaves a Fives stranded at the end of the war with that crucial information for the Republic that by the time he gets off world unfortunately is too late, we fast forward several years into Empire era where this AU begins, where Fives has made a (crappy) living off of bounty hunting and has a small task to put some feral critter out of it's misery and that feces covered mal fed creacher is REX and Fives actually hates him a lot at this point because he'd been mentally imagining Rex all these years as the visual epicenter of his blame for why all this Empire shit happened since he feels like he never listened to him back on Coruscant years ago. (he looked like this wet sock at about this point):
Tumblr media
but u know now that he has the easiest opportunity to kill him it's literally so fucking pathetic looking that he can't so he like takes Rex on his ship to start fixing him up and taking care of him but it's more like when ur neighbor forces some old dying sick dog on u and u don't even like dogs but u had no choice so u just glare at the thing every day as it lays in ur house pooping on ur carpet and throwing up it's dinner every night. I only ever got crappy little doodles made of some sequences it's just a fun AU to poke around in but here's some when he initially brought Rex onboard and bro was just head to toe caked in dirt and scabs
Tumblr media
ITS A REALLY metaphorical punching bag diary page like AU but it slowly deals with two WAY mentally fucked up people, who are approaching their issues at opposite ends of the stick, where Fives feels like he's been cheated out of a revenge kill, and Rex feels so pathetic and indebted to Fives that he's asking to be killed by Fives about every 35 minutes on his ship.
Tumblr media
so yea doodles like these were made when he was like half a year into recovery, trying to gain some weight back, medically taking hormones to make up for his MISSING BALLS and just regrow some hairs, attempted recovery to atrophied muscles, and other bummer things like keeping radios on all the time so he can hear and keep track of surviving clones in the Empire for no significant advantage other then to know which ones are still alive and junk. IT DOES GET BETTER they do work to become close again but not without a lot of bumpy roads cause neither of them are healthy

Hi! So I’ve been reading your stuff for a while now. If you have time & are willing would you think about writing up a reader x Neyo piece with the reader walking eggshells around him because she’s always feeling intimidated by him and he wants to change that? Thank you!
What A Change
Summary: You're a member of Doctors Without Borders, brought into the war at the request of the Jedi Order. And you've been assigned to the 91st for months now. And you're starting to realize that there are undercurrents to your placement on the ship that you never noticed before.
Pairing: Pre Commander Neyo x Reader
Word Count: 1557
Warnings: Mentions of stalking, though the reader's largely unaware of it until the end
Tagging: @trixie2023 @n0vqni
A/N: So I'm not sure I hit the vibe for the story, but it didn't feel right for the reader to be so nervous around Neyo and then to jump into a relationship. So this one might have a sequel.
Tumblr media
“It’s…um…required, Commander.” You say quietly as you nervously fumble with your datapad, “Republic policy is very clear as to the requirements for any person or group of persons who wish to land on this specific planet.”
Commander Neyo is glaring at you. You know it without looking at him. You can feel the way his glare is burning into your skin.
“And how long will it take to vaccinate the entire battalion?” He asks, his voice rough.
You flinch at his words, “Um…a couple of hours, maybe?”
Nayo exhales sharply and your grip tightens around your datapad, “Fine. I’ll let the men know. Is there anything else?”
You hesitate, “Um…just that…even after everyone is vaccinated, it’ll take two days before you’ll be allow to land-”
“And why wasn’t this known beforehand?” Neyo snaps at you, and you flinch back, and he exhales slowly, “We’ve known that we were coming here for days, why am I only just hearing about these requirements?”
“I…I told the Admiral-” You trail off.
“Fine.” He pauses, “I’m not going to hit you Doc, you don’t have to flinch whenever I enter the room.”
“I…sorry-” You mumble, and then you hear the sound of him leaving and you slump against your table with a sigh.
Several months ago, when the war started, the Jedi Order reached out to Doctors Without Borders to get doctors who would be willing to work on warships and with the clone Medics.
You are one such Doctor. After days of background checks, as well as tests to ensure that you’re actually able to work with the clones, you found yourself attached to the 91st.
At first you were pleased.
Being attached to a Recon Battalion meant that you would have plenty of time to look into the increased aging of the clones while ensuring the health and wellbeing of the men and women on the ship as well.
And then you met Commander Neyo.
Cold, distant, and grumpy Commander Neyo. Who seemed offended at your very presence. You walked on eggshells around him, and even then you never seem to do anything right in his eyes.
He’s always picking and poking and prodding until you make a mistake. And then he gives that heavy sigh, like you’re nothing more than a burden on him and his brothers, and then asks you how you intend to fix the problem.
You always can. None of the mistakes that he’s caught, or the ones that you’ve admitted to, have caused harm to anyone on the ship. But he acts like it’s the end of the world.
You thought you were doing the right thing, informing the Admiral about the vaccine requirements for the planet. It’s not your fault that the Admiral ignored your information until you were already in orbit. Right?
Several hours later, you're called into a meeting with General Gallia, Commander Neyo, and the Admiral.
The Admiral, a petty, small minded man with more ego than actual sense, glares at you, and you shift uncomfortably. “Doctor, you should have warned us about the vaccine mandates of this planet.”
You feel a prickle of annoyance, and you quietly attach your datapad to the holo, and bring up the email, detailing that very fact, that you sent him several weeks earlier, “I think you’ll find that I did.”
The Admiral flushes an ugly shade of red, and you have a feeling that if General Gallia and Commander Neyo weren’t there, then he would physically try to hurt you.
Commander Neyo shifts, and you glance up at him as his arm brushes yours, “In any event, we can’t land for another two days, so what’s the play, General?”
Your gaze flickers around the room, from the Commander, who’s standing much closer to you than he normally would, to General Gallia, who has a stern look on her young face, and who is also standing slightly closer to you than normal, and then over to the Admiral, who has gone an unhealthy shade of gray.
And you realize that you must be missing something.
“There’s nothing we can do,” General Gallia says lightly, “Aside from waiting for the time to run out. Has the vaccinations started?”
“Yes ma’am,” You reply, “Everyone will be vaccinated by the end of the day.”
“Splendid.”
“Wait a minute,” The Admiral frowns at you, “How did you learn about the vaccination mandate?”
“Doctors Without Borders created the vaccine to begin with, when the plague first started.” You reply, “We were all vaccinated, just in case it spread to other planets.”
The Admiral’s eyes light up, “So you can go to the planet.”
You pause, and both the Commander and the General tense.
“I…suppose I could.” You say slowly.
“Wonderful, then you can go down first-”
“Absolutely not!”
“She’s a civilian!”
Commander Neyo and General Gallia speak in unison, but the Admiral raises a hand to silence them, “I’m hardly asking her to fight a battle. I’m asking her to go before us and report on the state of the planet.”
You shift uncomfortably, and you start in surprise when a strong hand lands on your shoulder and you’re jerked back behind Commander Neyo, he looks angrier than you’ve ever seen before in your life, and you’re glad that he’s not looking at you like that.
General Gallia looks thunderous, but when she speaks her voice is very calm, “Commander, will you please take the good Doctor and ensure she has what she needs for a trip to the planet?”
“Yes ma’am,” He guides you out of the room, and as soon as the door slides shut, you’re pretty sure you can hear raised voices on the other side of the door.
“Um…”
“We need to get you armor. It’ll have your organization's symbol on it, don’t worry.” His dark eyes scan you, “Do you know how to use a blaster?”
“What? No! Of course not! I mean, I know the theory? I just point and click, right?”
“That’s…not it at all, no.” Neyo replies, he lightly spins you and directs you towards the opposite side of the ship from your lab.
“I’m a doctor. Before all else, do not harm. I don’t need to know how to shoot. Even planets not connected to the Republic don’t fire on Doctors from Doctors without Borders.” You say, “Besides, this planet is peaceful.”
“They were peaceful. They’re not so much anymore.” Neyo takes you down to the armory, and starts looking for armor that might fit you.
You shift, uncomfortable, but somehow not intimidated by his silence, “Commander, what’s going on? It seemed like there was more going on in that room than I was privy to.”
He pauses, “Right. So, long story short, you were assigned to this Battalion at the Admiral’s request. General Gallia did some digging and he’s been a bit…obsessed with you since the start of your career.” He looks at a chest piece he’s holding and then eyes you, before he curses and tosses it to the side, “Apparently the real you isn’t anything like the you he created in his mind, and the General is concerned he might try and harm you.”
“What?” You squeak.
“The General asked me to stick close to you whenever the Admiral is around. He’s afraid of me.” Neyo pauses, and something wry crosses his face, “Of course, you’re also afraid of me.”
“I’m not afraid.” You defend yourself immediately, “You just…intimidate me.”
“Same difference.” He digs around for a moment longer, and something sour crosses his face, “We don’t have anything that will fit you.”
You shift slightly, “I…have armor.” You admit.
“You…what?”
“It’s in my foot locker. We regularly get sent out to war zones, so-” You shrug, “I still don’t know how to shoot a gun, it was never something I needed to know.”
He exhales sharply through his teeth, “I can’t teach you how to shoot a gun well in the time we have. So here are my orders for you.”
“I’m listening.”
“Find someplace safe. A clinic or something. And in two days, I will come and find you.” Neyo says to you.
And the way he says it, you can’t help but to believe him.
“...I thought you hated me.” You admit quietly, “You were always there and always picking and prodding-”
“Whatever feelings I have regarding you, it’s not hate.” His lips curl up into a small smile, “I’m actually impressed by you. I know you’ve been looking into the aging issue whenever you can-”
“It’s why the Jedi called us. Because we care. People don’t join Doctors Without Borders unless they care a whole awful lot about everyone.” You explain with a shrug.
He nods slowly, “I’m beginning to realize that.” Neyo says nothing for a moment, and then he walks over to you and places his hand on your head, “I will come for you. In two days, as soon as I’m able to land on the planet.”
“Okay.”
His hand slides from the top of your head to the back of your neck, “And when we’re back on the ship, we can talk about feelings and shit.” He says with a disgusted scrunch of his nose, “But more importantly than all of that, I don’t want you to be afraid of me anymore.”
“I can try.”
“That’s all I ask.”

*pokes your arm* pssssst heyyyy can we have some dae-hyun nsfw headcanons pretty please??
( MDNI, No Age in Bio DNI )
Here’s a few of Dae-hyun’s kinks~
Oral fixation— needs his mouth on you or yours on him so badly
Many different kinds of roleplay
Knife play, blood play, medical/surgical play
Aphrodisiacs, sex pollen, A/B/O, etc
Tentacle monsters, eggpreg
Breeding and pregnancy
Group sex/orgies, but only with Darling and his own clones. He can’t even share you with Da-hyun (a non-clone version of himself).
Orgasm control (overstimulation, denial, chastity, free use, controlling vibrators in public/vice versa)
And an extra note here, that Dae-hyun is interested in hypnosis kink play, but lacks the patience to perform most induction techniques and tragically he is not very susceptible to trance himself.

Kix x GN!Jedi!Reader Word Count: 3k Content Warnings: PG-13 battle stuff, medical treatment, and kissin. Dividers courtesy of @djarrex
GORGEOUS KIX FACE by @rosemarynightmares-art (though this story takes place when he still had his short buzz cut, I had to share it cause his eyes and lips are just... *MWAH*)
Tumblr media
Your lightsaber was a blur in front of you, deflecting blaster bolts and sending them flying back toward the rows of droids. The sound was deafening, lights flashing everywhere, shuddering blasts rocking the ground, but you were honed into the Force, silencing all but your own path through it all. The Separatists were retreating, scattering and falling back to the canyon beyond, and you and the 501st were pressing forward.
A pained yell to your left caught your attention, as you heard and felt the trooper get shot in the thigh. He collapsed, still trying to level his DC-17 at the droids ahead, and you leapt in front of him, providing cover as the rest of the squad continued to force the retreat. As the air slowly cleared, the battle dying down for the time being, you turned to place your hand on the fallen trooper, heart aching at the pain you felt radiating from him. You channeled all the energy you could into a peaceful, soothing presence that you directed toward him, feeling his breathing slow just a little bit. It wasn’t much, but it was all you could do.
You saw Clone Medic Kix running from body to body, working at the speed of light. You marveled at his nimble fingers and singular focus, triaging the injured clones, treating some on the spot, and organizing the transports back to a medical bay. You heard Captain Rex giving orders for the squad to reorganize and report to the staging area, and you gingerly lifted the injured trooper to your shoulder, draping his arm across to support his one-legged hobble back toward safety.
You’d been with the 501st for a number of months; shifting needs of the war had stolen you from your previous post. But you’d been grateful for the camaraderie and truly unique brotherhood that existed within the boys in blue. You’d grown incredibly fond of them, feeling each one’s unique presence in the Force and enjoying the way they all meshed together while being so incredibly different individually. One in particular was nestled close to your heart…
Lowering the injured trooper onto a gurney, you met Kix’s eyes as he arrived to scan the clone, making notes on his datapad and instructing the transport.
“Thanks for your help,” he said, too focused to smile but emanating gratitude and affection nonetheless. You could feel his spirit -- kind and fearless, determined and intentional -- and your heart fluttered, sending some alarm bells ringing through your head.
“No problem,” you answered, jerking your eyes away at the sensations that his soulful gaze was causing within you. You gave him a formal nod, then left to attend to your own matters.
Tumblr media
“Come on,” Jesse poked, both literally and figuratively as he jabbed his elbow into your side. “We hardly ever get to come to Alderaan’s surface. It’s not only fun, but easy on the eyes too, and you’re way too uptight.”
“I appreciate the beauty, but the Quint sector isn’t really my scene, Jesse,” you deflected, feeling Kix’s eyes on you from across the transport, along with a prickling sense of anticipation from him. You were all strapped in, shooting toward the planet’s surface as you watched the star cruiser fade into the distance behind you. There had been a special exception made (most likely due to the Organas' extreme kindness and generosity) for the clone squads to enjoy a couple days of rest and relaxation while their cruiser picked up some supplies and waited for the next destination. The gently curving buildings flying past the window were clean and light, sparkling in the sun, and it felt as though the war didn’t even exist here.
“Have you ever been?” Jesse prodded, leaning forward with a knowingly arched eyebrow. You knew he had you there, and pressed your lips together firmly, sending him a look. “Ha! I knew it. Well, it’s just irresponsible to not explore a new place. Maybe it’s extra strong in the Force or something. It’ll make your magic even more powerful. Or supercharge your lightsaber…”
A wave of mirth rippled throughout the troopers in their seats, and you grinned, unable to be mad at Jesse’s indomitable spirit. You were warmed to the core at the energy among the 501st -- they had accepted you easily upon your arrival, they trusted you fully, and they had warmly welcomed you into not only their battles but their free time. You’d learned some details about heavy artillery from Hardcase, enjoyed a lecture about the discrepancies between certain manuals from Echo, and had even been taught by Fives how to never leave the bar alone at night. Not that you’d asked for any of these, but you couldn’t resist the earnest delight of each clone as they shared their various interests and insights.
You’d worked alongside Kix only briefly, feeling deeply unsettled by the inexplicably different vibe you got from being in the same room as him. He’d started off with a few cheesy pick-up lines, which immediately fell flat, and then stuck to strictly business. There was something about his soul that called out to you, though, and you tried to walk the thin line between enjoying his company, working shoulder to shoulder, and keeping things professional. You were grateful he wasn’t Force-sensitive, able to pick up on your feelings and thoughts, and were constantly torn between removing yourself from his presence altogether or refusing to miss out on an opportunity for connection.
You shook your head, bringing yourself back to the present, where the clones had moved on to other topics of conversation. Apparently, it was decided that you’d be joining them to the Quint district on Alderaan, which was nothing like 79s but was as close as you could get in this sector.
Hours later, after some time to clean up, you met the clones at the address they’d sent you, surprised to see them in their civvies. You couldn’t help but rake your eyes over Kix, who was engrossed in conversation with Echo and looked more diminutive without his armor, more inviting somehow. You pushed the thought from your mind, waving to the group and taking a seat next to Dogma, who sat silently at the end of a large table.
“Ha! I knew the Jedi would come!” Jesse announced triumphantly, smacking Fives on the chest. “You owe me!”
“Well you basically bullied your way into that one,” Fives grumbled, elbowing Jesse right back. “You clean up nice,” he commented, giving you his infamous eyebrow waggle, which broke a bit of the tension you were feeling at not knowing quite what to do with yourself. You grinned, giving a playful shrug, and allowed yourself to soak up a bit of the joviality of the room. It was so different from 79s, even though the general purpose was the same, but it was absolutely beautiful. All of the furniture and walls were gently curved and boasted cool, tranquil colors of white, gray, blue, and green. The volume wasn’t too loud, but the place was filled with comfortable tables and chairs at different levels, each organized into little conversation areas that were cozy and welcoming.
“I’m going to grab a snack. Anyone want anything?” you offered, met with a cacophony of eager responses. You made your way to the counter to place an order, barely opening the menu before feeling a warmth beside you.
“Figured you’d need a hand carrying it all back,” Kix explained, a small smile curving his sharp features. You felt a rush in your chest, smiling and nodding in return. The feelings were growing, and you’d managed to keep them strictly under wraps, but every interaction with him was fanning the flame. It felt precarious… and enticing. You made a mental note to spend more time in meditation, to release any attachments and stay true to your singular commitment to the Jedi code.
Once the order was placed, there was nothing to do but wait, and you found yourself lost in conversation with Kix within minutes. You had an unquenchable thirst for knowledge, and he was more than happy to share some of the most baffling, unique, and tragically disgusting cases he’d come across in his medical career so far. You laughed and questioned, fascinated by his adventures so far, and found yourself thoroughly elated as he finished a story that you were fairly certain was heavily embellished.
The discussion took a turn after a little while, moving to more serious and heavy things. How he managed to keep cynicism and disillusionment at bay, you didn’t know, as he recounted brother after brother who had been lost in the war efforts. Your heart ached for him, feeling the complex emotions washing over him in wave after wave. He fell silent for a moment, running a hand over his intricately shaved and tattooed head, and you found yourself wanting to do the same. Tenderly, intimately…
A sharp inhale brought you back to your senses, and you turned promptly to return to the table, “Just come get me when the food is ready?” you called over your shoulder, desperately needing to flee his presence. You plopped into your seat next to Dogma, who cast an inquisitive glance your way.
“Empty-handed?” he asked, expression softening the intimidatingly sharp tattoo across his face.
“Kix is waiting for the food,” you explained dismissively. “So… I have yet to hear your tattoo story…” Anything to take your mind off of the slightly confused medic, still standing by the counter, watching you with a furrowed brow.
Tumblr media
This battle was not going well. Plasma cannons echoed all around as blast after blast rained down where you and the 501st were hunkered in some of the flimsiest cover you’d ever seen. Rex and Jesse were quickly discussing an alternate plan, as shot after shot whistled through the trees around you. You made a few suggestions, revised the final strategy, then Rex announced it to the squad. On his signal, you charged in two groups, left and right, sprinting for the identified landmarks that might allow you to curb the frontal assault that was far more than intelligence had suggested it would be.
Suddenly, a huge cannon explosion landed nearby, causing one of the massive trees to crackle and waver. You looked up in horror as it teetered, roots ripping up from the earth, and began to crash through the forest canopy above as it fell… right toward a group of clones who were running toward their designated target. They were almost clear of its path… but one fell, shot in the stomach, and Kix was right beside him in an instant, scrambling to drag him clear. Horror clenched your chest, and without thinking, you ran toward them, using every tattered bit of energy you had to Force-throw them out of the way. As they landed on a nearby bush, the injured clone yelling in pain, you leapt over the tree as it smashed onto the ground where they had just been.
As you jumped down, focused entirely on the clones below, you missed the sizzling blaster bolt that was headed straight for you, tearing through your upper arm. A yelp escaped your lips as you landed, grimacing at both the searing pain and your own lack of awareness that could have prevented it.

The steady beeps of the equipment in the room were soothing as you dozed, comfortably bandaged and bacta-d up. You’d made it through the rest of the battle, reaching the drop zone and being lifted back to the ship with the squad. Fortunately, you’d been shot on an external limb, so the outlook wasn’t so dire as it would be from a direct torso hit. As you slowly woke up, feeling rummy and warm, you suddenly became aware of a presence beside you.
Kix was laying out a few items on a tray, not even looking at what he was doing in favor of watching you regain consciousness. His amber eyes were deep with concern and care, and you were flushed with sheepishness all of a sudden. Why did it have to be him…
“Sorry to wake you,” he said softly, his smooth voice a caress to your ears. “It’s time to change the bandage and place another injection before the last one wears off.” He was strictly business, but you could feel the internal conflict within him, realizing how much it matched your own. None of it was allowed. It couldn’t end well. There was no possibility…
“It’s ok,” you answered, trying to sit up as best you could with only one arm. He was beside you quickly, lifting you up, and the faint whiff of his unique scent reached your nose. Sterile, musky, clean, and… manly. You were quickly spiraling down a path that you knew was not a wise one. “I’m just going to… uh… meditate… while you do that…” you muttered, needing an escape from his intoxicating closeness. He smirked, nodding without a word, and slowly began to unwrap the gauze around your bicep. You closed your eyes, reaching for that place within, trying to sink deeply into it and release all the thoughts and feelings that were buzzing around your head. But you couldn’t. No matter how hard you tried, your senses were holding you firmly to the present. Kix’s gentle hands. The quiet sound of his breathing. The smell of him as he leaned over to unwrap the last bit.
You suddenly felt a weight on the side of the bed, next to your legs, and opened your eyes in surprise to see that he had taken a seat next to you. So incredibly close. And was leaning forward with a furrowed brow and intense squint as he examined the wound. Your heart flipped in your chest. This wasn’t supposed to happen. It all felt so intimate, even without any overt affection…
“I’d warn you that this will hurt, but I know you’re a tough one,” he said playfully as he readied the bacta injection to ensure there was no long-term bone, muscle, or ligament damage. You flinched as he placed it, but he was right -- you’d been through much worse. And the internal torment was completely distracting. As he moved to apply a light layer of gel across the stitched-up shot, he leaned closer and spoke quietly, feather-light fingers tracing over the gnarled flesh. “Tough… and kind… and brave… and intriguing… and beautiful…” he murmured, keeping his eyes fixed on your arm as though he’d explode if he looked anywhere else.
“Kix,” you breathed, studying his intensely focused face, “What are you doing?” His words reverberated within your very soul, shocking you with their unveiled honesty and affection. He fell silent for a moment, placing a patch over the wound and smoothing the adhesive around its edges, then finally lifted his eyes to yours. It sent a jolt of electricity through your body that continued to be amplified as he scooted slightly closer, picking up your hand in both of his.
“I've seen the way you look at me, when you think I'm not looking. You don't think I've noticed…" he said, voice barely above a whisper. Your mouth fell open slightly, completely stunned. You’d thought you’d kept it under wraps, keeping everything on a formal, friendly, professional level, and had also assumed that you were the only one privy to the thoughts and feelings of others. Clearly you hadn’t been as subtle as you thought. You searched for words but had none, eyes darting back and forth between his, tingles radiating up the arm from the hand he was gently holding.
“I can’t… I don’t…” you began, and he smiled faintly, looking down at your hand, nodding silently to himself.
“I know,” he whispered, taking a deep inhale before lifting his head to yours again. “But…” his voice grew stronger as his eyes took on a roguish gleam, “We may all be dead tomorrow, so…”
His sudden levity burst through the tension, and you surrendered to the ecstatic flurry within as he leaned in, careful to avoid your injured arm, reaching one hand up to gently cup the side of your face. He drew closer, confident yet unsure, eyes intently searching yours for a response. He leaned his forehead against yours for a moment, and your ragged breathing seemed disproportionately loud. You could feel yourself opening up to him in a way, releasing the strict control of mind over body, leaning into the warmth and connection that was radiating between the two of you. Your eyes fluttered shut, lips parting slightly, and you tipped your chin upward to bring your lips together.
A sharp inhale through his nose signaled his surprise, but within a split second, he was melting into your kiss, hand roving down your neck to cup the back of your head. Your good hand pressed into his back, tilting your head to bury yourself as deeply in his face as you could. He pulled away, keeping his eyes closed for an extra second, smiling serenely, before meeting your gaze again. You lifted your good hand to his face, brushing the backs of your fingers along his pronounced cheekbone before tracing careful fingers along the side of his head. He basked in your touch, eyebrows arching up in the center, simultaneously blissful and pained at the reality of the situation, but that could be dealt with later.
“I’ve wanted to do that for a long time,” you whispered, gently raking your fingernails down the back of his neck, earning a shudder from him that made your heart sing.
“I know,” he answered, with a smug grin in your direction. “You don’t need the Force when you’re that obvious.”
“I thought I was being subtle,” you laughed, drowning in bliss as he leaned in again.
“You thought wrong,” he murmured against your lips, and you lost yourselves in each other once again.

2 Sick Commander Edition 1
Tumblr media
This idea came to me while I was feeling unwell myself. Short drabbles of when the Reader AND the Clone are both down with a cold/flu. This will be ongoing multipart.
Tumblr media
Captain “Stubborn” Rex
You stumble out of bed to the ‘fresher, looking for Rex. Both of you had been coughing all night and if he felt anything like you did there was no way he should report today.  You find him leaning half asleep against the wall in the shower.
“You aren’t actually planning on going today are you?” You manage to say just loud enough to be heard over the water.   He turned the water off, he had to be heard.
“Have to,” he says, voice barely a whisper.  “Who’s going to take care of things?”
“As obnoxious as they are, your boys can take care of everything for a couple of days,” you answer. He shakes his head. “Not arguing with you,” you say, heading back to the bedroom.
“Can’t call Cody, he’s not even on planet,” Rex says, as if it settles things. “Who are you calling?” He asks as you retrieve your com device.
“Someone who outranks you,” you answer.
“You’re going to call Fox?” He asks.  You shake your head as you select the com frequency.
“You wouldn’t bother the General about this,” he starts.
“I don’t have to,” you answer him just before you answer the voice on the other end of the com. “Glad it’s you, Kix.”
“You sound awful, how are you feeling?”
“About like I sound, but your dear captain sounds worse,”
“I do not!” Rex’s voice barely a breath at this point. He was giving you a baffled look though.
“Ah, so you need a Saleucami maneuver?”
“Please?”
“I’ll let everyone know, can you let Rex know? If he gives you a hard time, give me a call.  I’ll send one of the guys by later with some meds to put in your delivery box.  Get some rest,” he disconnects the call.
You look over to Rex. “Bed, now.”
You think he tells you “I’m HIS superior officer,” but his voice is completely gone.
“Your brothers are really good at telling stories, particularly ones where you are as hard headed as the one that told me this one,” you poke the scar on his chest.
“Kriff, Saleucami,” he breathes,
“You didn’t tell me the whole story,” you shrug, “but I got some useful information out of it. Kix says bed, now,”
Looking petulant he crawls into the bed and curls around you before simply passing out asleep again with you not far behind.
Tumblr media
Marshal Commander “I will run myself into the ground” Fox
Mando’a translation Utreekov- Fool, Idiot (Lit Emptyhead) -the usual version didn't seem to fit.
You are awoken from a fitful fevered sleep by your com, and realize immediately that the equally sick Fox is gone from the bed.
“Yes?” you answer.
“Ma’am?” The voice on the other end says somewhat hesitantly. “This is Patch,”
“I told you ma’am isn’t necessary,” you sigh. “What’s wrong?”
“Well we found Commander Fox passed out on his desk,” Patch says, “But don’t worry, it seems to just be a cold virus. He does have a fever though,”
“Yeah, I have it too.  He said he wasn’t going in,” you answer, honestly too groggy to be upset.
“We’re bringing him back to you, that is unless you prefer us to take him to med bay,” Patch offered.
“No, bring him here,” You answer, grabbing your robe.
“On our way, Ma’am,” he responded.
Fifteen minutes the door to the apartment opens, and Fox is brought in being held up by Patch and Sharp.  Thorn strides in behind them, all three of the other troopers were wearing an extra medical grade filter attached to their helmets.
“Vod!” Thorn exclaims, “Why are you up? Patch said we’d bring him in,” He quickly scoops you up and follows the other three back to the bedroom.  He sets you on the bed and starts taking Fox’s armor and stacking it as the other two remove it.
“I can do it, I’m fine,” Fox rasps once his helmet is off.  You suspect that his voice just hadn’t been strong enough for his protests to make it through the vocorder.  “I was just resting a minute,”
“Sir, you were out for over an hour,”Sharp corrected with a glance towards you.
Fox just groaned in answer, his head falling back on the pillow. Once he was laying down in just his blacks, Patch turns to you. “Meds for both of you on your bedside table, once every four hours.  He just had his.  Hydrate, a medic will be by to check on both of you tonight,”
“More to make sure this utreekov is still in bed,” Thorn pokes his brother in the side. Fox vaguely slaps in his direction. “The guard outside the offices and other buildings know to call to have him returned to you until he is cleared by a medic. Provisions will be delivered later,”
“That necessary?” you ask.
Thorn tilts his head to the side. “To make sure my vod doesn’t try to kill himself working, and to make sure his riddur is well taken care of, absolutely.  Also, it will annoy the hell out of him when he is well,”  You can feel the grin he is giving you.
All three salute and file out of the room and the apartment. Leaving you to curl up next to Fox.
“I’m not doing that bad,” he tells you.
“Sure you’re not, handsome,” you pat his chest, “get some rest anyways,”

Chapter 3 is now go :)
Lilo sat down at an empty table, Poke across them. Lilo sighed and buried their head in their hands, trying to think of how to start.
Poke nudged their arm when they didn’t start talking, “Lilo--”
“I think I like Ty,” Lilo said, the words tumbling out of their mouth. They did not have to explain to Poke that they meant like like, not just like.
Poke’s eyes lit up. “Hey, that’s grea--,” then they saw Lilo’s face, “that’s not great?”

Fives Lives: Bad Batch Pilot Episode AU
Dividers by: @ saradika @ freesia-writes / @ lornaka
Note: So it got kinda long...
~~⚄~~⚄~~⚄~~⚄~~⚄~~ ~~⚄~~⚄~~⚄~~⚄~~⚄~~
Content Warnings: death mention, mention of medical procedures/experiments, loss, imprisonment, lack of sleep/exhaustion, mention or reprogramming aka messing with mind. (I think that's all of them)
~~⚄~~⚄~~⚄~~⚄~~⚄~~ ~~⚄~~⚄~~⚄~~⚄~~⚄~~
The sound of the blaster went off.
He felt the searing pain of being shot as he looked at the hole in his chestplate
Falling to the ground...
Getting shot.
Dying.
That was the easy part. Why was that the easy part?
Maybe because everything after that made it harder..
He at least thought he had. If what he had felt wasn't dying.. He wasn't sure what was.
"Call for help! We need a medic!"
He remembered what, at the time he was certain was death as he grew weaker and weaker as his ori'vod help him in his arms.
"Stay with me Fives. Fives!"
He heard Rex beg for his life as he was fighting the urge to pass out. He remembered as Rex clung to his body.
He looked into the face of Commander Fox. "Don't do it trooper! Don't do it!"
He panicked. He couldn't let Palatine kill him before the truth got out.
His Vod shot him down. Quickly.
Now.. He had the feeling that Fox was under orders. The chip.
She drugged him. He wouldn't have ever done that if she hadn't drugged him. To this moment he was filled with regrets.
He woke up. The recent events, fresh on his mind.
Wait... How long had it been?
Wearing the blacks. His wound healed almost..
A brief sense of security until his mind came into focus. He lay on a medical table.
Kamino.
Ever since he woke up... It was constant experiments, it felt like... Done by Nala Se, mainly. Or spending the day in a cell.
He enjoyed the cell more.
How long had he been here? Every day was the same. It was moments like these he had to wonder if being killed on Umbara would've been better. At least then, it was because he did his duty.
The nightmares started.
Not too long after the first day he remembered. The experiments. The poking and prodding.. It now just freaked him out.
There was no comfort in any of this.
He was the last of his batch, surely they expected better of him.
He had been. He did the right thing. But now.. All he was seen as was the clone that went rogue then insane and tried to murder their political leader... Despite what the truth really was.
He had suspicions Nala Se enjoyed the suffering this caused him. Her anger and disdain as he tried to uncover the truth before his 'death' the drugging.. He almost undermined her. And the Kaminoans, they wouldn't like that much. Was this his payback?
The nightmares still went strong. Constantly reliving the death of Echo, his twin... The massacre on Umbara.. How he had been hunted down like a terrorist. And how no one believed a word he said.
He had a break once. It lasted for a little while... Until Nala Se found out about it. It was a research assistant to her. A sister. Omega.
She would come in often. And they just talked about anything. He'd tell her about the war if she asked. She'd tell him about her day.
But eventually he was moved somewhere else in the cloning facility. And then the visits stopped.
Tumblr media
He knew when the war ended. And it was more than just the feeling he got
He noticed the shock troopers passing through. And then he noticed clones occasionally moving past his cell, now Shock troopers on duty.
He knew.
He had been right about the fears plaguing his mind. Now that he wasn't completely kept from everything and everyone.. He assumed this meant the worst.
They didn't consider what he knew a threat anymore. He had lost.
He noticed the difference in the troopers around him. They were all under control of those chips and there was nothing he could do to save them...
They weren't completely robotic it seemed. As they had things to say about him. The shock troopers knew who he was. Some of them might've been in the group that was sent to kill or arrest him. There was no real way of telling.
For Rex.. He hoped he had either been able to stop what was happening, get out of that situation... Or have died before his free will was taken like everyone else.
The clones around him made their opinions known. The words hurting more than before.
"Defect."
"Bad Batcher."
Back in his domino days. They had also called him and his batchmates bad batchers at times.
But this was different. Maybe because the implications were steeper now. Now he was looked at as a traitor instead of the soldier he once was. Every day he spent fighting for the republic... Washed away just like that. Forgotten.
The troopers guarding his cell were talking some shit. Not like the rogue clone was ever gonna escape, right?
Or maybe they just didn't care he was right there, thinking even less of him.
"I heard they're gonna be messing in his head to try and fix the crazy."
"They'll ship him out to some top secret research facility."
"If it works they'll put him back on the line of duty."
"If not Tarkin'll order him decommissioned or killed, I bet."
"If he wants to live he'd better shape up-"
Suddenly their comms beeped.
"Clone force 99 has escaped, we're supposed to meet up with CT-9904 to cut off their escape!"
They grabbed their weapons before running out of the room.
He had to wonder about this Clone Force 99. If they were going after them.. Maybe they had went against the Chancellor too.
If this was the case he hoped they actually escaped instead of being stuck in a situation much like his own.
On a side upfront.. He looked ahead at his ARC gear. It had been saved. Before he didn't understand why.. But now he had.
It usually served as a little... Miniscule sort of comfort. It was his past and the only thing he had ever truly owned. It was the armor he painted alongside his twin.
A reminder of how he made it to ARC Trooper. The dream they all shared, butost hadn't gotten to see... So he promised himself he'd live it for them. He had to get out of here one day...
When they tried to move him, he was gonna fight like haran. For his squad.. And for all of his brothers.
He had tried to escape, fight his way out many times. The cell fought him back, making him weaker than when he first attempted it.
He was leaning against the bottom wall of his cell. His head was tilted back, he was trying to rest some from all of the exhaustion. His knees against his chest, and his arms crossed around them.
Tumblr media
Suddenly he heard voices near the door of the room. The Shock troopers had forgotten to shut it.
"Normally we wouldn't even consider sticking our neck out for a reg like this... But I hear he's a special case."
"They also said he went against order 66, but that seems unlikely because according to records.. he's been here a while."
"I heard shock troopers talking about reprogramming him. When we were in the cell."
"If we don't get him out..."
"We'd better hurry if we're gonna get him out and back to the ship before the shocks find us."
They walked in. He could tell they were clones, but they definitely didn't look like any he knew.
One had goggles and the other was even more different. His arm was a scomp link and he had ports in his head along with a pale ish skin tone.
He took notice of them. They weren't wearing their armor, but instead they were in their blacks.
These must've been the escaped clones the shock troopers were talking about.. He had also been in his, that was standard as a Kaminoan Prisoner.
He took notice as the pale one walked in slowly, to a stop.. his eyes were fixated on something. Fives turned his head, and noticed him looking at his armor intently.
The one in googles was looking at something on a datapad. Then suddenly he looked between the other one and himself, a look of realization..? was crossing his face.
Was the pale one.. from the 501st? Did he recognize him? He seemed in disbelief upon looking at his armor. Stopping in his tracks.
The clone wearing goggles noticed the distraction and tapped the pale one on the shoulder.
"I understand this might be a complicated situation for you. But you must remain focused if all of us are to leave alive."
"I.. Yeah I got it. Just this belonged to... Nevermind. We better hurry."
"You'll have to scomp in. Once we break him out, they'll know if we don't divert their attention. He appears to be on high priority."
They rushed to a terminal, center room.
One typed away ferviously as the one beside him, plugged in and twisted against the gears with the scomp in his arm.
"Got it Tech."
Tech pressed a button.
"We don't have a lot of time. If you want to get out without your brain being reconstructed, you'll need to grab your things and push on."
Fives hopped to his feet, though the exhaustion all over his body was still evident. He moved over to his old gear.
"Hey, uh thanks for saving me. Haven't been out for a while." He was placing the armor plates over his blacks.
"It's what we do.. And really no one deserves to be stuck like that." The pale one said before turning around.
He was in shock, staggering backwards despite his mechanical limbs.
Fives sent a glance upwards after securing his kama.
He looked at the trooper ahead of him. Something felt familiar... Then he looked at his eyes.
He held his breath..
He didn't move, looking ahead.
Echo
He didn't blink, scared he was hallucinating it all.
Scared he would just disappear...
Tech noticed the silence, he knew why. He could understand it from a psychological standpoint.. But they had more pressing concerns.
"We are running out of time. Hunter can't wait on us forever when everyone on Kamino will be looking for us."
Fives shook his head, to snap out of it. It took Echo a little longer to regain focus at first, but he did. They were soldiers.. It's what was required of them.
"Right." Fives finished securing his armor and placed his helmet on his head.
He never thought he'd wear it again. He never thought he'd see Echo again either... The day was full of surprises. Despite the overall horrible... This was good. Though he did feel guilty for thinking it.
"Got a blaster Echo?"
"Back with our gear in the hangar bay."
Fives tossed one of his DC-17s to his vod'ika. Echo caught it.
Tech pressed a button on the datapad.
"Now we move. The cell's alarm is triggered."
They rushed out, hoping to make it back before Crosshair realized they were missing.
Tumblr media
Upon reaching the hangar, Echo handed Fives back his blaster before moving to the trunks of gear to find his own.
"Fives?" Omega said surprised as she saw him. She hasn't seen him in months. She wasn't even sure he was still here.
"Yeah kid, it's me. It's good to see you."
She hugged him from the side as batch 99 started and finished grabbing their gear. He returned the hug briefly. Echo and Hunter looked over at them curiously.
"Haven't seen Crosshair over here yet." Hunter finished gearing up.
"Omega, keep with Echo and The Reg..."
Fives moved next to Echo and the crate he had just finished grabbing from.
"Tech, get the ship fired up, we might need a quick escape."
Tech nodded and moved for the ship, readying it.
"And Wrecker, with me. We're finding Crosshair."
"You've got it Sarge."
Omega picked up Wrecker's Lula. As she stood on her feet, she noticed the bay doors.
"I think he had the same idea." Omega said pointing to the bay doors, as they slowly opened.
Fives set his blasters to stun as he ducked behind the crate with Echo. The others also ducked.
A squad of shock troopers came rushing in, their carbines were pointed in their direction.
Crosshair carried a sniper rifle as he walked in.
Hunter stood up, walking to the center as he looked at Crosshair.
Wrecker, Echo and Fives peered over their crates.
"Is that...Crosshair?"
Crosshair stared ahead at Fives, but quickly returned his attention to Hunter.
"Best surrender. Sargeant."
"Turn in the reg. Make it...easy on yourself."
"Are you out of your mind?!" Hunter exclaimed
"We should've killed that Jedi. You disobeyed orders."
"I did what I thought was right!" He defended
"How's that working out for you? Now you're throwing in with a reg, a traitorous one at that and... A kid?"
"Now Surrender."
Hunter looked back at the men. Wrecker put his helmet on his head and readied his weapon. Echo was aiming, and the ARC Trooper nodded his head as he took aim.
He returned his look to Crosshair. "Is that an order?"
Crosshair smirked. "Heh. I guess it is."
"Well.. I guess I'm disobeying that one too."
The tension was high as soldiers stared upon each other, daring the other to make the first move.
The silence. Loud.
Crosshair's expression narrowed, his finger inched closely on the trigger of his hand held pistol and sniper rifle.
Then he fired a shot.
Hunter ducked in time and it had hit the side of the ship.
It was quick to become a firefight.
Tumblr media
In the end, the batch escaped mainly unscathed, except for Wrecker who had been shot by Crosshair.
Echo was currently tending to him. And this was giving Fives the entire world time to think.
But thinking.. Was all he had since he was in that cell. He was tired of thinking.
Omega had shot the blasters out of Crosshair's hands. It was a very impressive feat for an untrained clone.
Hunter walked over to Fives. Even Tech would easily read that which appeared all over his face.
"Uh thanks... For covering us back there." He started an awkward conversation.
"It's what we do.." He said a hazy focus.
"What's on your mind uh...-"
"Fives."
Hunter chuckled briefly.
"What is it?"
"ARC-5555?" He looked up at his 5 tattoo after he spoke.
"Uh yeah?"
"That's a little on the nose, isn't it?"
"Says the guy who has batchmates named Tech, Crosshair and Wrecker." Fives
Okay, he had him there.
"So... Uh.. Heard you tried to kill the Chancellor.."
"That's just the version clones were told about me. Because the truth... Would've stopped this from ever happening."
Fives held his palm against the side wall as he sighed.
"You mean order 66?"
"It was much worse... But that was a big part of it."
He looked back at Echo, fending off Wrecker who complained about the medical attention.
"It's why they pushed the crazy clone narrative so hard. Because if I appeared insane... No one would believe me."
"And it worked."
"They expect all of us to be unthinking droids... To follow every order without a single question? But.. That's not who I am. They weren't expecting it, I suppose."
"They weren't prepared for me to investigate when things were clearly not right... It was unsettling to them. They had to take the nuclear option to protect the skeletons in their closets."
"You defied their 'programming?' too?" Hunter asked
"Good soldiers follow orders.. But the best ones know when not to." Fives said
"That type of thinking usually gets you labelled as a defect."
"Eh, I'm used to it. My squad and I, we've been hearing that one since were cadets." Fives said
"Maybe they were right. But I figure the way things are going, that's how you know you're in the right."
"Conforming to the standards of the rest.. They are basically unthinking droids. I wouldn't want that either."
"You know you might be stuck with us for a while, considering the move we just made." Hunter said
"You're all brothers. It's more than I had back when I was imprisoned on Kamino."
"And you don't care that we're not.. Well, regs?" Hunter asked
"Why should I care about that?"
"Don't examine me! I'm not a computer!" They heard Wrecker yell out.
They looked over at him, diverting their attention.
"This will just take a second."
Hunter uncrossed his arms, he glanced at Fives before they began to walk over.
"Get that thing away from me!"
Echo looked past, seeing Fives again. Well... Now was as good of a time to address this as any.
Fives looked over at him. There was a sigh in relief.
Omega silently observed them. Having already known they were batch mates.
Wrecker, Tech and Hunter were busy talking about Cross hair, until they realized Echo wasn't part of the conversation. He walked over to Fives.
"Did you miss me?" Echo asked, breaking the long silence as he reached his twin's location.
Fives didn't say anything as he quickly pulled him into a tight hug.
Echo took a breath, returning the hug with his one good arm.
"It's really you... I can't believe it."
They caught the attention of the others, the only ones not appearing to be confused were Tech and Omega.
"I'm so sorry.. I never should have-"
"It's not your fault. I never blamed you." Echo said
"I left you.."
"No. You followed orders."
"Look where following orders has gotten clones." He sighed, blame on himself...
"What happened?" They asked at the same time after a silence.
They let go finally.
"Fives.. Rex told me you were killed. In fact you're listed as legally dead."
"How are you-"
"I don't know. There's.. things I just don't remember." He was honest, his mind was hazy at times
"You recognized me back on Kamino. Before anyone else ever called me Echo."
"Like I would ever not recognize you Ech'ika?"
"What.. Happened.. After.. You know." Fives said
Tumblr media
"I take it they used to know each other." Hunter said off hand
"I would certainly hope so, being batchmates and all." Tech replied as if it was the most obvious thing in the world
"What?" Hunter asked
His eyes were glued to the datapad.
"CT-27-5555 and CT-1409 were the last remaining members of Domino Squad, both making it to ARC Trooper status shortly after helping The Republic take a win during the Battle of Kamino. Report by Taun We.."
"Domino Squad consisted of members Hevy, Cutup, Droid-Bait, Echo and Fives. Three of the Five were killed on their first mission at the Rishi Moon outpost. Echo and Fives were the last remaining, and were requested for the 501st legion by Captain Rex."
"Echo was seemingly killed by an explosion at the citadel rescue, leaving Fives as the last remaining Domino before the parasite turned him crazy, resulting in his death by blaster, Commander Fox."
"I have recently been informed that Echo survived the blast, and was taken captive by the Techno Union. Later joining with Clone Force 99. Report taken by General Shaak Ti."
"So you mean they're from the same squad?" Wrecker asked
"That is what I just said."
"Can they read each other's minds?" Omega asked
"What do you mean?" Hunter asked
"They keep giving each other looks without talking and look like they're having a conversation." Omega said
"Maybe they have telepathy!" Wrecker said
"I highly doubt that as a possibility." Tech said
The Domino Twins walked over together after finishing their conversation. Echo came by to check on Wrecker. And Fives briefly spoke with Tech as Hunter spoke up to Omega.
"Impressive shot back there." Hunter looked to Omega
"Where'd you learn to do that?"
"I don't know.  I never fired a blaster before."
"I guess I just got lucky."
The attention of the others was diverted to the conversation when Echo spoke up.
"She's not the only one." He moved Wrecker up.
"I'm fine. It'll take more than a blaster shot to take me down." Wrecker said
"You were down." Echo reminds him.
"Yeah, well.. Not for long!" He laughed out loud, playfully punching Echo in the arm.
He groaned in pain shortly after.
"So uh.. Where are we gonna go now? Not exactly a lot of places for clone deserters and a clone traitor." Fives asked Hunter
"I thought we could go off on our own. Lay low."
"But with Crosshair gunning for us, I'm not so sure." Hunter was thinking
"What about your friends?  Can any of them help us?" Omega asks
"That would be a short list.." Tech said
"Well.. I can think of one. Plot a course for J-19." Hunter said
Tech nodded his head and set the Navi computer.
"J-19?" The twins spoke up at the same time.
"We know a guy."
Tumblr media
The ship was silent.
Wrecker and Omega were huddled up together, asleep.
Tech was flying the ship through hyperspace.
Fives and Echo were sitting next to one another. Fives rubbed his eyes, he still tried hiding how tired he really was.
"Fives. Get some sleep. Even those two are asleep by now." He motioned towards Omega and Wrecker.
"I'm not tired."
Echo scoffed. How dumb did this fool think he was?
"Did you by chance forget who you tried that with just now?" Echo was a little snarky
"Or did you perhaps think I somehow don't know you anymore?"
"I'm the one person who has always known you and will always know you."
Fives looked down at the floor. And Echo put his hand on his shoulder.
"Hey, what's going on?"
He didn't want to bring it up.
"I really don't want to talk about this right now."
"We haven't seen each other since the Citadel before today. And the first problem you're having.. You don't even want to talk about it?"
"I have my reasons." He responded
"They all- look.."
"You're right. We did just get each other back. And that's exactly why I don't want to ruin that with this."
"Talk to me."
It was easy to slip back into old habits with Echo around. Of course.. Things were somehow harder now than it had been.. But there were a few things in this moment that did feel the same.
"Well uh...I don't sleep...really. Not anymore."
"Things have gotten worse the longer I was there."
"I just can't take it... It's all the nightmares. They just.."
"Everytime I sleep.. I'm reliving it."
"I only sleep when I absolutely have to. Maybe 2 times a week."
"Things are different now.. They've been difficult for a while." Echo said
"We never really seem to catch a break,  do we?"
"No.. We really don't." Fives responded
"Except this time." Echo said
"After every horrible thing that's happened this last... Well since the Empire. It brought back our best way to fight through these things. Being together."
"As long as we live.. We're still batchmates. And you're still my twin. Though I might not exactly look the part anymore."
The joke resulted in a chuckle from the pair as they made eye contact.
"Try and sleep. I'll be right here the whole time." He promised.
"We're going to get through this eventually."
"You know after everything... It did nothing. The warning. No one believed me and no one was saved." Fives sighed.
"It might have."
"Do you think it's ever gonna be okay?" Fives asked
"I know.. We're clones. We were made for being soldiers.."
"But this brings back the fear.. What are they going to do to our brothers now that the war is over?"
"I don't know Ori'vod.. But we are going to save who we can."
Fives rested his head on Echo's shoulder.
"If they could see us now.. I hope they'd be proud." Echo said
"They would." Fives answered

propaganda (elevator pitches) ⬇️
Nocte (sw):
is CMO of the Coruscant Guard. fiercely loyal to the Guard. deeply wary of the senate, with very few exceptions. he's my oldest oc and probably the one y'all are most likely to have heard of. integrated into arcs with many of my friends' ocs/fics/whatnot <3 what else goes in his elevator pitch,,, known to take kids and younger clones under his wing, protective to a fault, low tolerance for nonsense. beat around the bush at your own peril. questionable bedside manner. manwhore tendencies. I love him, you love him. he's been transplanted into [checks list] cod, tlou, and bebop
Uj'alayi (sw):
is an ARC trooper, used to work with the Shadows then got brutally injured and had to transition to the CG. owes his life to Quinlan Vos and is disgruntled about it. guard dog coded. his bite is exponentially bigger than his bark. on the surface: quick to laugh, quick to joke, charismatic and personable without being overbearing. this may or may not be a mask he wears. will lay a beat down on just about anyone if they Cause Issues for Fox. in the relationship of all time with Lane Hurosa (another of my ocs)
Bones (sw):
is marshal commander of the 410th recon corps under Bastra Vargdan (another of my ocs). traits include: CQC specialist, confounded by the concept of the Force, at least partly responsible for getting a gambling ring going in the GAR (has a poke face like nobody's business). outside of working hours, he's laid back, easygoing. stark contrast between On-Duty Bones and Off-Duty Bones. encyclopedic knowledge of regs, but flexible adherence to them sometimes. big brained tactical strategist, ended up teaching Bastra a Lot about like. how to lead a corps
Bastra (sw):
my Jedi 👉👈 trained by Sifo-Dyas so dookudyas is very dad-coded to him. specialized as an Investigator, excels at undercover ops. also has quite a bit of integration into my friends' oc arcs and stuff <3 buddies with Obi-Wan, gets on pretty well with the TG and CG since he spends a chunk of his time on Coruscant. ummmm he takes a Padawan like 10ish years before the war, somewhere in that range. he's a goofy guy, real stiff and formal a lot of the time but it lets up around people he trusts. of course I know him, he's me etc etc. he's currently getting transplanted into cp2077
Lane (sw):
is a journalist on Coruscant. they spend a Lot of time in the senate district, very good at schmoozing. certified flatterer. charming, if you will. always asking one million questions that senators do Not want to answer, which results in bans from various spots around the city LOL honestly they're just neat idk what to tell you. they stay following risky leads and getting themself into binds. they're squinting very hard at the details of how the Republic acquired a clone army
Myn (sw):
is a smuggler in the early Rebellion era. also a relentless optimist, sees the very first scraps of resistance and buys in immediately. IF somehow Nocte’s alive at that point, Myn's the one who tries and probably fails to sell him on participating in the rebellion
Vio Selnes (sw):
owns and operates a 24h diner on Coruscant. this diner gets heavy business from clones leaving 79s. connections to the clones leads to scattered connections with the Jedi, leads to the restaurant being used as a rendezvous point from time to time. part of Dexter Jettster's network
Jag (mk):
is part of the Kahn Guard when Kotal's in power. he was raised by the Shaolin Monks until he bailed, moved to the States, got into all sorts of illicit activities. Kung Jin eventually moves onto his couch and joins his crew. those illicit activities land him in a stint with the Black Dragon, which is a real lesson in Kano Is A Bastard. when Erron jumps ship, Jag goes with him. he's kind of an idiot, full of trussed issues, gay as hell, will bring a knife to a gunfight or a gun to a knife fight
Rose (mk):
is part of Danver's crew from before he went BD. the brains of that whole operation. she's severely underdeveloped unfortunately but I promise she's very cool. computer nerd. minimal filter on her in the best way
Eyes (cp2077):
is a ripperdoc with more focus on ripping than doc-ing. from Pacifica, got a long time connection to Mr. Hands. wound up in Maelstrom pretty young, cut his teeth on committing atrocities and revolutionizing Maelstrom's uhhh forcible cyberware implantations and general torture methods :) was real loyal to Brick, so Royce wrecked his shit when he took over, meant to kill him but he managed to get out. winds up on Viktor Vektor's table for recovery, tries very hard to turn over a new leaf. he's a fucked up bastard of a guy I shan't lie. compels me though

@slenderboo @vivaislenska
"You know, I bet he had a poster or two."
"Eh?" Rex pauses from the root he's chopping up for dinner, glancing over at Gregor. The former commando has his feet kicked up on the cargo container that serves as a makeshift table for the rebels mess hall, twirling a knife around his hands as he watches the other.
"The new kid! He's been starin' at us, and I peg him as uh, what the natborns call it, teenager before the ol' Order? Were we teenagers, or did we skip that part?" Gregor laughed to himself, and Rex rolled his eyes as he finished the prep work and dumped his work into a simmering stew.
"Skipped it mostly." Wolffe grumbled as he entered the far side of the mess hall, carrying a few crates. "Thanks for the help Gregor."
"Welcome!" The commando laughed, watching Wolffe join Rex with something that made the other hum in delight. "Anything good?"
"Some proper meat for once." Silence descends on the hall for a few minutes, before Gregor clicks his tongue.
"Wolffe, we were talkin' about the new kid! He's a good fit for the rebels eh?" Wolffe raised an eyebrow, and Rex just rolled his eyes.
"Wouldn't call him a kid, but yea. He was watching me grab all this grub, like I was doing something interesting....why?"
"Gregor thinks he had posters, back when they did some of us early on." Rex chuckled, and Wolffe placed his hand on his chin in thought.
"Hm...does strike me as the type. He knew both our designations and names, and who knows those these days? Plus, the Y-Bombers? He knew how to fix one of the bomber release attachments, and again, who learns that these days? I'd say posters and one of those little clone trooper dolls...maybe."
"Really?" Rex glanced over as Gregor cackled. "I don't think teenagers had those things...I think." Wolffe shrugged, knowing about natborns as much as the other two did. "...I'll say the posters for sure."
"Knew you'd agree!" Gregor clapped his hands together, and finally sat upright. "So which is it kid? We on the money?"
There's a faint thud coming from behind one of the doorways, and after a moment of silence, Kallus slowly poked his head into view with a sheepish look.
"I...had posters." He speaks once he edges his way closer to the clones, eyes pointed at an interesting table. "Never did get ones for the 104th, they were hard to get ahold of."
"Aw poor Wolffe." Rex pat his friends shoulder, and the other grumbled as Gregor motioned for Kallus to join him. The former Imperial joins the trio, a faint smirk on his lips as he listens to the teasing.
"So, did you have any favorites? If so, did you meet any?"
"I..." Kallus blinked, feeling very much like he was part of one of the rumor mills he knew gathered in the mess hall at times, Empire or not. "I met Commander Ponds once, my parents brought he and his men homecooked meals as thanks for helping us against a Separatist raiding party. He'd been very kind, and I never saw him again."
"Depending when that was, probably not." Rex sighed, and Kallus can see the grief on the shoulders of each clone for just a moment.
"I am sorry..." The tale of the clones had been only one of tragedy, and Kallus hated how it had been buried to hide how truly rigged the entire Clone Wars had been from the start. "If...Some of what I know, I learned from old archives I saved, or was able to dig up over the years. Tactics, negotiations, medical expertise, I learned whatever I could because you were..."
"Sounds like someone is a nerd!" Gregor laughed, delighted at the blush that's thoroughly colored in the former Imperial's face. "I tease I tease, glad someone was interested in us ol' timers."
"If the Empire had bothered to keep any of what you all were taught, they...well..." He grimaces, and the others shrug. "Incompetent, the lot of them."
"That's the hard plastoid of it eh?" Wolffe grumbled, taking a seat beside the younger man while Rex sat across from him beside Gregor. "We have a good hour until dinner is ready, so what say you ask whatever you'd like?"
"Seriously?" Kallus blinked, and the curiosity he'd had to suppress the entire time he's served the Empire shines through as he looks over at Wolffe. "Anything?"
"Anything." He gives a short nod, and the officer looks around as if suspecting someone of watching them.
"Well..."
The three hadn't expected to almost forget they were on cooking duty due to all the questions Kallus seemed to nearly burst with, but no one had ever seen them so happy to answer. Even Wolffe is smiling at times, regaling him with a tale of a long fought battle as the mess hall slowly begins to fill. Kallus is at the edge of his seat, looking for all the world an eager student as he listens to every word, and for once isn't flinching as people file by in amusement.
It was nice to have someone be in awe again.

TBB & Fem!Reader
Chapter 2: Trouble Fitting In
Tumblr media
Summary: You're completing your final practicum on Kamino as part of the experimental non-clone Combat Medic program. After graduating top of your class, and being inducted into the prestigious 407th Medic Unit, you get assigned to Clone Force 99. Neither of you are excited to be working together and tensions run high. However, those tensions dissipate when the Bad Batch unexpectedly falls ill while on a covert mission. Running against an unknown clock, it’s up to you to figure out what’s causing the illness before it ultimately kills you all.
Pairings: TBB & Fem!Reader
Characters: Kix, Hunter, Echo, Crosshair, Wrecker, Tech, Tungst (OC), Brett (OC), Drip (OC), Gloss (OC), Rift (OC)
Tags & Warnings: platonic, BAMF fem!reader, enemies to friends, lots of sass, humor, tension, action, angst, hurt/comfort, canon typical violence, mild suggestive themes, explicit medical descriptions (ie: blood, bodily fluids, needles, procedures, etc), tbb whump (later chapters)
Word Count: 5.8k
Author's Notes: This chapter was so much fun to write! The gif will make sense after you read the chapter, but I couldn't help myself. No TBB whump yet, still working on the setup. I believe in strong setups that make the exciting part more rewarding. Let me know if you want to be added to the tag list. As always, please enjoy 💚
Chapter 1 - Chapter 2 - Chapter 3
Tumblr media
As you walk with your new squad through the halls of Kamino, you can’t help but shift your eyes to each member as they chat amongst themselves. You follow behind them, listening intently, and waiting for a moment to remind them that you’re still here, but the moment doesn’t come. The five clone brothers talk to each other as if you don’t exist, and you’re not quite sure if they are doing it on purpose or if they really are that absentminded about your presence.
You imagine this treatment is to be expected, at least a little bit. Clones are very familial and protective of each other, so attempting to fit in with an established squad is not the easiest of tasks. However, you want to show Kix that you can assimilate yourself into the most closed-off clone squadron the GAR has ever created and survive. You decide to take a less aggressive approach and see what comes of it. It isn’t the best plan, but you have to start somewhere.
When you reach their barracks, and Hunter opens the door, your nose is immediately assaulted by a pungent odor that churns your stomach. You try not to take any deep breaths as you peer into the dimly lit room. You wiggle your nose as you adjust to the smell and scan around the room. There are four bunks, each one distinguished out of the others with personal belongings and, well, junk. There’s also a hammock in the corner, and a couch across from the center table.
The group of clones walk over to their respective bunks and put their things down. You’re not sure how Wrecker sleeps in his bunk, considering the amount of garbage on it, or Tech for that matter, with all the wires and things poking out. Hunter and Crosshair’s bunks are the cleanest out the bunch, and closer to standard regulation. Which means the hammock must belong to Echo. You add notes to your squad mate's mental profiles as you continue to observe them.
However, standing alone at the entrance of their barracks and simply watching has now become very awkward for you. They all seem to have routines and you are most definitely not a part of any of them, or even have one of your own to start doing. You’re used to the barracks pods for the cadets, not a full barracks room. You wait patiently for your new commanding officer to tell you what to do or where to put your stuff, but he seems to be concerned with other things.
Unable to stand the blatant disregard of your presence any longer, you clear your throat in an attempt to gain some attention. No one seems to hear or notice you, so you try again with the same lackluster results. To these clones, ignorance must be bliss. You sigh and decide to take the direct approach as you walk over to Hunter, who is sitting on his bunk with his data-pad in hand.
“Sergeant,” you say.
“Medic,” Hunter says without looking up from what he is doing.
“Where should I put my personal belongings?” you ask.
“Wherever you want,” he answers with a dismissive wave of his fingers. He puts the data-pad down, bends over to pick up a box next to his bunk, and gets up to walk towards the table in the middle of the room.
“Understood, sir,” you say while following him to the table.
He sits down on the bench seat and places the box on the table. He pulls out his DC-17 blaster, opens the cleaning kit, and takes the contents out. “Something else?” he asks as he begins to disassemble his blaster.
You fidget with your fingers before asking the other important question. “Where is my bunk?”
Hunter puts his blaster down, turns his head to look at you, and raises an eyebrow. “Who said you were sleeping here?”
“Well, I thought–”
“You thought, now did you?” Hunter chides. “Well, think again, kid.”
“But, I’m part of the squad!” you argue. Yes, the place smells horrible, but these men are supposed to be your new family. You can’t sleep somewhere else. That doesn’t make any sense. That’s not how squad assimilation works.
“You might be part of this squad,” Hunter begins, “but that doesn’t mean I have to like you, trust you, or want you here.”
“Give her a break, Hunter,” Echo says as he walks over and sits down at the table.
Hunter rolls his eyes. “Must you always have an opinion?”
Echo rolls his eyes in return. “Must you always be so dogmatic?” Echo turns to look at you. “You can take the couch.”
“You can’t just give her the couch!” Hunter exclaims.
“Any objections?” Echo asks as he looks around the room at the three other clones.
“It will not be an issue with me,” Tech says with a shrug of his shoulders.
“As long as I get to sit on it during the day-cycle, I don’t care,” Wrecker hurls back loudly from his bunk.
“Not my problem,” Crosshair sneers as he narrows his eyes and stares into your soul.
You shiver at his cold glare, unsure of what you did to make him dislike you this much.
Echo gives Hunter an, I told you so, side eye and Hunter rolls his eyes again while crossing his arms in defeat. Echo gestures for you to make yourself comfortable on the couch, and you give him a small nod and smile as thanks. After listening to them argue over you, twice now, you’re not really sure who’s actually in charge of this squad, Hunter or Echo. However, Echo seems to be the most reasonable of the bunch and your biggest supporter, if you can even call it support.
“Get yourself settled,” Echo says. “Then we’ll hit the mess hall for some lunch.”
You do as he says and walk over to the couch. You place your duffel down next to it and sit down on one of the cushions, bouncing on it a little to feel out your new bunk. It’s a little softer than the barracks pods, which is nice, but there are no sheets, pillows, or even a blanket to be found. You look around the room to see if you can find any spares, but it’s hard to locate anything with all of the junk lying around. You surmise that you’ll have to find a pillow elsewhere.
You open your duffle and pull out a few personal items, but then quickly realize you have nowhere to put them. You look at what’s around the room and figure one of the crates can make a decent table to put your stuff on. You get up and find the closest one, pressing your full weight against it to push it over to the couch. As you begin to move the crate across the floor, you can feel their gazes shift to you. It’s like they’re waiting for you to trip or ask for help, but you don’t.
The crate proves heavier than you expect, and you wonder what is possibly inside of it. Their stares become unnerving as you push the crate into place next to the couch and you let out a small grunt with the last push. You pant softly at the exertion, but recover in a few seconds. Now that you have a place to put your things, you kneel on the ground and continue to pull your belongings out of your duffel, including a photo of you and your parents from when you were younger.
“Who’s that?” Wrecker asks as he bends over to look at the photo.
You startle at his sudden presence looming over you, but regain your composure and turn your head to look up at him. “My parents,” you say with a fond smile.
“Woah,” Wrecker says with awe. “You have parents?”
You chuckle at the innocent question. Clones are definitely fascinating people to be around. Grown in test tubes, they are motherless ten year olds stuffed into adult bodies with built-in programming to be fearless and loyal soldiers. Of course he wants to know about your parents, because he’s never had any of his own.
You sigh. “I had parents.”
“What do you mean, had?” Wrecker asks.
“They’re dead,” you say flatly while pulling more things out of your duffle.
“Oh,” Wrecker says. He straightens up and rubs the back of his neck. “I’m sorry.”
“It’s no big deal,” you reassure him. “They’ve been dead for a while now. That’s why I came all the way out here.” You trail the rest of your words into a soft whisper. “To find a new family.”
“Well, we don’t have parents either,” Wrecker says in an attempt to make you feel better. He grins. “You can be part of our family if you want.”
You half-smile at his kind words, but he seems to be the only one who shares the sentiment. The resounding silence and side glances after Wrecker’s remark tells you everything you need to know about your place in the squad. You sigh. You really did want a family, one that you could call your own, but it seems too far out of reach now. Hunter made it clear he’s going to keep you at arms length, and you understand the resistance, to a point, but their shunning still hurts.
“Thanks, Wrecker,” you say. “That’s a very nice offer.”
As Wrecker moves back towards his bunk, you finish pulling the rest of your things out of your duffle and place them all neatly on the crate. Happy with your little nook of a home, you plop yourself onto the couch, lean your head back, and take a deep breath. The smell of the barracks seems to be growing on you, albeit not by choice, but at least it doesn’t make you want to vomit anymore. You close your eyes and wonder if things will get better or worse from here on out.
After a couple hours of awkward silence in the barracks, it’s time for lunch. You trail behind your squad down the corridors and toward the mess hall in silence, again. They converse amongst themselves just like before, and never give you a moment to say anything or interject your own thoughts. They aren’t dull conversations either, so you listen with interest at their choice of words and the way they speak to each other, continuing to add to your mental profiles.
You sit down at the mess hall table with your squad and the silence is even worse. No talking, only eating. You pick at your food while remembering back to when you were a kid and ate meals with your parents at the table. The three of you always talked about how your days went and anything exciting that happened. You remember there was always laughter at the table. Laughter and love. Even the clone cadets had more conversations with you than these guys.
“Hey, Civvy!” Tungst calls as he approaches your table with his food tray.
Speaking of cadets. You groan at the sound of your awful name, but are happy to see a friendly face.
“You found out my name, huh?” you ask while twirling your fork around in boredom.
“News travels fast around here,” Tungst says as he sits down next to you, ignoring your squad mates who are also sitting at the table.
“Where’s the rest of the squad?” you ask as you peer around your shoulders.
“They’re coming,” Tungst says. He takes a bite. “They had a few things to finish up in the barracks.”
“Care to introduce the reg?” Hunter asks as he points with his utensil at the cadet who is clearly ignoring them. Tungst narrows his eyes at the sergeant and Hunter stares back, displaying equal animosity.
“Oh, yeah,” you feel embarrassed that you forgot to introduce him to your new squad. “Clone Force 99, meet Tungst and Tungst, meet Clone Force 99. He’s one of my friends from training.”
“Pleasure,” Tungst answers curtly.
“Is this the clone who’s anatomy you know so well?” Crosshair asks with a devious smirk from across the table.
“Cross,” Echo whispers in warning. “Don’t.”
You cough and almost choke on your food as your face turns red with mortification. Not this again. Why is this even a topic of discussion? You swear that Crosshair’s only goal in life is to make you uncomfortable. His words make you angry, however, you breathe and calm yourself. It’s not worth getting upset about and you figure that as long as you don’t feed into his antics, then the buck will stop there. You have to be the bigger person when it comes to Crosshair.
Tungst slams his fist on the table. “Care to explain what you mean by that?”
You flinch at the sudden loud noise. Oh no. He took the bait. You know this is not going to end well.
“Perhaps, I’m mistaken,” Crosshair mocks. “Maybe it was the commander instead. That’s how she became so popular, isn’t it?”
“I highly doubt the commander would trade preferential treatment for sexual favors,” Tech explains.
You can’t believe he said that. Why did he say it so loudly? You look around to see if anyone heard the scandalous remarks, but you don’t see anyone staring. However, you feel like everyone is now silently judging you. You place your head in your hands to hide your embarrassment, even though you have nothing to be embarrassed about. There were no 'favors' exchanged for your success. Everything you earned was won through blood, sweat, and tears.
Tungst shoots up from the bench seat in anger. “Don’t talk about her like that!”
“Tungst,” you gently tug on his arm, trying to get him to calm down before things escalate. “It’s okay, really. You don’t–”
“No, it’s not okay,” Tungst says as he looks down at your red face. “They’re making you sound like some sort of tramp.”
"If the stamp fits," Crosshair smirks.
Tungst scrunches his nose with indignation. “You son of a–”
“No one’s saying anything like that,” Hunter interjects as he takes a sip of his drink. “It’s just some friendly banter.”
“You rejects, have a funny way of being friendly,” Tungst scoffs.
“Are you picking a fight, reg?” Crosshair challenges as he flicks his toothpick away and stands up.
Wrecker pops up from his food tray. “Someone say fight?”
“Maybe, I am,” Tungst says. He leans over the table to get closer to Crosshair’s face. “If you don’t leave her alone, then maybe we should fight.”
“She belongs to us now,” Crosshair says with a cynical smile, reveling in the rise he’s getting out of the cadet. “We can do whatever we want with her.”
“That’s it!” Tungst yells, then jumps over the table to dive towards Crosshair.
The two clones tussle on the ground, trading blows at each other's faces and kicking each other’s torsos. A few seconds later, you see the other cadets from Tungst’s squad arrive and engage in fisticuffs with the other members of Clone Force 99. Echo, the last one still sitting at the table, rubs his fingers against his forehead and sighs before getting up and punching some poor cadet’s lights out. Soon, the entire mess hall of clones joins in on the violent festivities.
You wince as you watch the unruly sight before you, and you try to move out of the way of the flailing body parts. You are all for aggression when needed, but this massive brawl is just idiotic. You remember the stories you were told about Clone Force 99, and you know them all to be true now. You contemplate whether to join the fight or to stop it, but you’re torn between your cadet friends and your new squad. Whose side do you pick? Do you even need to choose a side?
Unfortunately, the decision is made for you when a softball sized fist collides with the right side of your face. You let out a loud feminine cry at the hit and the commotion comes to a dead stop. Everyone looks at you while you hold the side of your face as it contorts in pain. You don’t know who threw the punch, and you don’t care. You spit some blood onto the floor and lift your face up, staring dizzily at the clones in front of you until you find the one you’re looking for.
“Permission to leave, sir,” you stammer out before spitting more blood onto the floor.
Hunter looks at you with his first glimpse of real emotion and nods. “Permission granted.”
As you turn to exit the mess hall, Tungst runs after you. “Civvy, wait!”
You turn around and put up your hand to stop him. “Please, just leave me alone right now.”
“I’m sorry,” he says with slumped shoulders.
You take a deep breath and leave to return to the barracks to take care of your injury. You stop by one of the refreshers on the way back to check yourself in the mirror. Looking around, there doesn't seem to be anyone else in it. You push your stomach against the sink and lean towards the mirror, opening your mouth to get a better look. There’s not much you can see through all the blood, so you painfully swish some water around and spit it into the sink to try and clear it out.
“Want some help with that?” Kix asks while leaning against the side wall, medpack in hand.
You startle for a second, and whip your head around, but then relax when you realize it's just Kix.
“I heard about some friendly fire in the mess hall," Kix says apologetically. "You okay?"
You turn back towards the mirror and sigh. “Yeah.”
Your voice sounds like you have cotton balls stuffed in your cheeks and Kix chuckles at it. You lift yourself up to sit onto the edge of the sink counter to give him a good angle to examine your mouth. He places the medpack on the counter beside you, puts on a pair of sterile gloves, and pulls out a small light. You open your mouth as wide as you can and tilt your head side-to-side to give him the room he needs to look around.
“That’s a really nice laceration you’ve got on the inside of your cheek,” he notes as he inspects the inside of your mouth. “Must've bit it pretty hard.” He pokes around a little more and you wince as he touches it. “But, no broken or loose teeth, and no jaw dislocation, so that’s good.”
You let out a sigh of relief and adjust your jaw as Kix removes his hand from your mouth. While he throws his gloves away and opens the medpack to grab the bacta spray, you lean back against the mirror, close your eyes, and let a few tears escape. When he faces you again, to apply the bacta spray, the tears don’t go unnoticed. He puts the spray down and turns away to lean back against the counter, still looking at you through the mirror from across the refresher.
“Those aren’t tears of pain, are they?” he asks.
You shake your head and more tears come out as you lift your hands to cover your face in shame. You're a Combat Medic of the GAR. You’re a medic trained for combat. You’re not allowed to cry. You’re not allowed to show emotion. You’re not allowed to be fragile. But, the best day of your life is suddenly turning into the worst day of your life, and you’re struggling to process it. You want a repeat, a do-over, anything to keep from being in the present, so you cry.
“It’s okay,” Kix soothes, still facing away from you. “You can let it all out here with me.”
“Why?” you ask through muddled tears. “Why did you assign me to them? They want nothing to do with me!”
Kix sighs and turns back around to look you in the eyes. “You're my best medic, you know that right?”
You nod your head in agreement.
“And I need my best medic for my toughest cases, don’t I?” Kix continues.
You nod your head in agreement again.
“Well, Clone Force 99 is that toughest case," Kix explains. "I gave you this assignment because I know you’re the only one who can handle it. You’re the only one who can handle them. You’re tough, clone tough. You can play their game and win.”
You move your puffy eyes to look at him and mumble out a small, “Really?” You wonder if this is what Kix was trying to tell you after graduation, before Hunter interrupted your conversation.
“Yes, really,” Kix chuckles at your garbled speech. “I know it won’t be easy, but I need you to be exactly who you are, no more and no less. Let who you are change them, not the other way around.”
You sniffle one more time, wipe your tears away, and nod your head. Maybe this is what you need to hear. That this assignment isn’t an accident, a punishment, or a cruel joke. Maybe, just maybe, Kix is right and you are what Clone Force 99 needs. You’re a tough combat medic that takes no lip from anyone and will sass your way into their squad and force them to listen to you. You reinvigorate yourself with your thoughts and nod at Kix, this time with more sincerity.
“Good,” Kix says. “Now, let's get an icepack on that cheek of yours before you grow a second face.”
You giggle at the joke, but the stretching of your jaw muscles gives you the worst pain imaginable.
“Oops,” Kix says. “Sorry. Bacta spray first, then ice pack.”
After you finish up with Kix in the refresher, you continue your original journey to Clone Force 99’s barracks. You hold the ice pack to your cheek and ponder your conversation with Kix. He really is the best commander you could ask for and he always gives the best advice. You now feel a sense of pride in the fact that Kix entrusted you with his most difficult case. Going forward, you are determined not to let anything your new squad says or does deter you from your mission.
You make your way into the barracks and sit down on your couch-bunk. You pull out your data-pad with one hand, while holding the ice pack with the other. Being an official Combat Medic means you also have access to your squad's medical files. You think now, while you’re alone, is the best time to go through their files and learn about their individual medical needs. Clone Force 99 is full of enhanced experimental clones, so you need to pay extra attention.
You pull up Hunter’s file first and start reading.

“I wouldn’t exactly call those upgrades,” you sigh, then put the data-pad down and lay back on the couch.
So this is your team. A bunch of experimental clones, plus a half-cyborg, with a plethora of medical concerns that may or may not present in the field. Although, you do feel a little closer to them now that you’ve seen their medical history and a part of you feels sorry for them. They didn’t ask to be made, let alone with these enhanced mutations.
You adjust the ice pack on your face as it gets less frozen and wipe away the condensation that drips down your cheek. You look at the chronometer and realize it’s been over two hours since the incident in the mess hall. You wonder where your squad is. Did they go elsewhere and leave you behind? Probably. No matter though. You have a renewed perspective and you’ll do your job whether they like you or not. You’ll be the biggest pain in their backside if you have to.
No sooner do you finish your last thought, does the door to the barracks open. You turn your head to look and see who it is and not surprisingly it’s your squad. They each disperse to their bunks and grab their packs. Curious about their movements, you sit up on the couch and crisscross your legs, still holding the ice pack in place.
“What’s going on?” you ask. Your voice is still garbled from the swelling.
Hunter connects his pack onto his backplate and glances over his shoulder. “We’ve got a new mission and we’re heading out.”
Your heart races at the prospect of your first mission. You knew this day would come, but you didn’t think it would be this soon. You’ve barely had any time to adjust to your new squad or go through any practice simulations. They don’t know you and you don’t know them. Your anxiety increases, but quickly dissipates when your training kicks in. This is what you are trained for, and you’re going to do it. You put the ice pack down and grab your pack and helmet to join them.
As you follow them out, Hunter turns around and stops you. “Where do you think you’re going?”
“On the mission, sir,” you say. You let Kix’s words echo in your mind and refuse to back down.
“No, you’re not,” Hunter says.
“With all due respect, sir, I am,” you say.
Hunter huffs. “And why should I let you come?”
“Because, I’m the best, sir,” you say as you straighten your shoulders.
“That remains to be seen,” Hunter retorts.
“You can’t see if I’m left behind, now can you, sir?” you argue while placing your hands on your hips.
Echo tries to hide a snort. “She has you there.”
“Glad to hear you’re volunteering,” Hunter says sarcastically. “You’re in charge of the kid.”
“What?” Echo questions with disgust. “Why me? I’m not babysitting her.”
“I’ve told you before,” you huff. “I can take care of myself!”
“Shut it, shiny,” Hunter exclaims.
You cross your arms and scrunch your nose.
“I’ve got my own weight to pull!” Echo continues to argue.
Hunter pats Echo’s shoulder and smiles smugly. “And now you can pull hers, too,” he says while pointing at you. “Since you obviously have enough time to make jokes.”
“But–"
“Just make sure she doesn’t die,” Hunter says with a wave of his hand as he starts walking away.
Echo looks at you and sighs. “Come on.”
You quickly follow Echo, your new chaperone, and head off with the rest of the group towards the landing platform. The walk is once again, silent. Maybe the third time's the charm and after this mission they’ll start including you in their conversations. However, you don’t hold your breath that it will be the case. You’ll be lucky to get any action worth talking about, considering that Clone Force 99 has never had a downed man on the field in their tenure as a squad.
On your way to the platform, you are intercepted by Tungst and his squad mates. You brace for the worst and hope for the best, since you’re not sure what the outcome of the mess hall fight was. You’re still a little mad at him for causing such a big scene, but you don’t blame him for your injury. You may never find out who threw the punch, but it doesn’t matter. You’re just happy the five of them are still alive after the altercation with one of the deadliest forces in the GAR.
“I heard you were shipping out on your first mission,” Tungst says as he approaches, his words sounding a little awkward.
It makes sense. The last time you both spoke was after the punch, so you haven’t had a moment to debrief. You stop to speak with them and the rest of your squad surprisingly stops with you.
“Yeah,” you answer with a small smile. “I guess I am.”
“We’re gonna to miss you,” Brett says while patting your shoulder.
Hunter rolls his eyes.
You chuckle. “I’m going to miss you too.”
“You’re going to do great out there,” Gloss smiles.
Drip grabs your shoulders and pulls your face really close to his and speaks with a straight face. “Don’t die.”
You start laughing and push him backwards. “I won’t.”
“You better not,” Rift jests as he points towards Clone Force 99. “Or we’ll have to beat up your squad again.”
Wrecker laughs. “You lost the first time!”
Tungst clears his throat to change the subject. “We just wanted to see you off and remind you that we’ll always be here for you if you need us.”
You smile at the sweet gesture and wrap your arms around Tungst to wish him goodbye. “Thank you for everything.”
Crosshair leans towards Echo and whispers. “You can’t tell me they haven't kriffed yet.”
Echo groans and whispers back. “Please keep your comments to yourself.”
“Can we go now?” Hunter asks impatiently.
Realizing that you are holding up the rest of your squad, you let go of Tungst and follow after them. You turn around and wave goodbye to your cadet friends one last time and they wave back. You are going to miss them. They are the closest thing you have to a family and you’re leaving them. It feels bittersweet, since they may not be there when you come back. They will eventually graduate from cadet training, get their own assignments, and leave you behind.
You let the intrusive thoughts dissipate from your mind and refocus on your current mission. You smile as you walk aboard the Marauder. The only ship you’ve ever been on was the transport that brought you to Kamino one cycle ago. So, this is the first time being on an Omnicron-class attack shuttle. You read up on it during your training, but to see it in real life is amazing. You swivel your head as you look around the ship and take in all the different elements.
“Strap in for take-off,” Tech says as he sits in the pilot seat and gets the ship ready.
Echo sits in the co-pilot chair and also works to get you off the ground. Hunter sits in one of the open swivel chairs and Crosshair grabs the other. Wrecker sets himself up by the gunner’s nest and gives you a reassuring smile. Looking around for a place to sit, you take your go-pack off and strap yourself into one of the jump seats across from the bunk rack. You’re a little nervous, but feel more excited to be out on your first mission.
You feel the rumble of the engines and slight lift as the ship takes off from the platform. This is it. You’re finally going on a mission. You’re finally going to save lives, just like you posthumously promised your parents. You lean your head back against the cold wall of the ship and take a deep breath. You’re ready. You’re ready for anything your squad or the battlefield can throw at you. You’re going to show them that you are the best and you’re going to make Kix proud.
