I want to make some stuff for a cosplay, but I’ve never done any crafting stuff before, so I’m hoping someone here has some tips. I want to do a spiderwoman cosplay and add in the underarm web wing/gliders that spiderpeople sometimes have. I’m just looking to build the web gliders as I bought the spider suit. How would I go about it, what materials would be best?

So I now have most of my costume put together & my solo song picked for cosplay bellydance debut as Doctor Strange.

I decided you guys are gonna get special little sneak peeks as I create the choreography, work on trying to build the Tao Mandala shield props, all the weird little extra things i couldn't help but buy to use at the cons (Eye of Agamotto sipper bottle - needed it!), and other behind stuff like me dying my hair to look like Strange.

Frankly, most people in my daily life are unaware of my Doctor Strange obsession, lol, so I thought you guys would appreciate all the little nuances.

If you happen to be in FL, here is the event info for the con & our show. Love to have some familiar faces (kinda sorta?) there! Other dancers will be portraying Hela, Scarlet Witch, and Loki. Sadly our Mighty Thor won't be at that show, but I love her so much.

2 months overdue, but I finally finished my Clawdeen cosplay project!

Every year since about 2018, I go to Spirit Halloween and try to find something that I can use to test my costuming/makeup skills and create a stage/contest worthy costume or makeup

Last year, I wanted to fix up their new Monster High costumes and chose Clawdeen as she was the most derivative of the box art. I got most of the alterations done in August, but then got extremely busy with school which took up a lot of time and mental energy.

I also just recently picked up shoemaking, and spent a LONG time making and remaking patterns as I DESPISED that they made Clawdeen’s boots legs warmers instead of shoe covers (and I figured a shoe without a toe puff or heel counter would be a good place to start)

Anyway, despite these hang ups, I decided not to give up on this and knew I could knock it out during winter break, and she’s finally here! 💜

My old hometown held its first ever anime/cosplay convention, a perfect opportunity to improve my Percival King cosplay!

And this time I actually have proper picks to show off it all!!

Things I added/remade:

-All the decorative bands are made by tablet weaving, a traditional nordic weaving technique

-I made new gloves! I bought the last ones but these are self made

-I lost the old paper tie so I knitted a new one (it's sewn to a fabric thingy so it stays in shape)

-Shoes!

I even entered my first ever cosplay contest with this. I didn't win, but I did get an honorable mention prize for entering, and compliments about my crafting techniques

Finland has a way bigger con-scene than I imagined! And a lot of them are pretty small and chill too which is nice
