Hey friends! I am doing a super special cover reveal and I could use your help!

I’m sending out a bunch of letters from my main character of my novel With Love, Juniper and I would love if the reading and writing community could help me share it with the world!

With Love, Juniper is a book about a young witch trying to navigate complicated social anxiety issues, learning to live and accept herself the way her loved ones do.

Im sending out handwritten letters, a print of the cover, an additional art print and some stickers all for FREE. All you have to do is fill out this form and I will tend it to you when it’s ready to go!

he's a ww2 medic and uhhh has some issues <3 but let's be real, which of my ocs doesn't? i'm sure i'll talk more about teddy at some point, considering i've got a wip in the works centered around him, but for now get this: very cold, distant medic who gets transferred companies after the death of his best friend. shit goes down from there. (by shit i mean healing. HEALING)

WIP Questions game

My questions were:

1. What was the first part of your wip that you created?

Danika, my protagonist.

2. If your story was a TV show, what would the theme song/intro be?

Duvet by Boa an Alt-Rock band from the mid-to-late 90s. I recommend everyone check them out. Her vocals are so ethereal toward the end.

3. Who are your favourite characters you've made? Why?

If you just mean this WIP, it will be both Danika and her bff Alice. Danika because I find it hard to distinguish her from having bipolar disorder, or is this stuff actually happening to her, ya know? As a sufferer of BPD I've always wanted to write a character with it. While Alice? Heh, Alice in Cyberland.

4. What other pieces of media do you think would share a fan base for your story?

Well, a very obscure anime called Serial Experiments Lain highly influenced this story. But, I'm not entirely sure. I don't think about it a lot. To be honest, I always just tell myself that no one will like what I do, and history kinda shows this. So I write for myself. No idea what fan base I'll have.

5. What has been your biggest struggle with your wip?

I don't really struggle with it too much.

6. Are there any animals in your story?

Not really. It takes place in Seattle 2049 where it has become the biggest city on the continent. Not many animals here.

7. How do your characters get around?

Danika takes the relatively new subway system. Alice drives herself, mostly.

8. What part of your wip are you working on rn?

Chapter two! Where it starts to really unfold.

9. What aspects (tropes, maybe?) of your wip do you think will draw people in?

As I mentioned before, I don't expect many people to want to read my stories. I mean, I think the most views I have on substack is 25? Which is awesome and I love every single one who reads my stories. Yet, compared to those who regularly have hundreds of views on their stories? Yeah, so I dunno.

10. What are your hopes for your wip?

What is every writer's hopes? That someone will read it and enjoy it.

Update on Projects; Sort of Poll I Guess?

So I've been chipping away at this story about a sickly girl being courted by the god of death. It's very much like a lush, velvety romance with some spooky, uncanny elements. It's based in a victorian setting, sort of leaning into the trope of the consumptive beauty.

You get what I'm getting at, yeah?

So here is the sort of struggle I've been having lately: The story has an antagonist, but he feels contrived and a little bit forced on the narrative.

I'm about to start what will be my second friggen rewrite of this and I'm wondering your opinion on this. What if the conflict was the main character stuck between the choice of joining her suitor by ahem...leaving the physical plane and living her life in order not to break her widower father's heart again by taking his daughter away?

Do you think that's an intriguing enough plot line? If the story focused on experiences she has with her father who she adores set opposite the romantic courtship between her and the Bone King? Would her internal struggle about that be interesting enough for you to read?

thanks for another tag from @stanzasbysloan!! very much appreciate it and i've now added quadrophenia to my watchlist ... sounds interesting.

anyway, on to the questions!

favorite color: blue!!! blue blue blue, i love it. probably any pastel color, as well

currently watching: i haven't been watching too much recently, but i've at least started the first season of true detective! which is pretty good so far. i will be delving back into my lost rewatch soon lol. i'll rewatch an ep of the x-files every now and again for pure comfort <3

spicy/savory/sweet: sweet! i love sweet food and esp sweet, fruity drinks. strawberry daiquiris? i cannot get enough of those. i'm not big on spice

relationship status: very much single

current obsession: my latest (re)hyperfixation was an amazon show called sneaky pete. now i'm kind of in that weird spot where i'm between hyperfixations ... i need a cure asap

“So stupid! I focused on the N’Diki arcane pool this whole fucking time—I could’ve just turned right from that blasted city Unity and been done with it! The answer isn’t in the swamps, it’s in the desert! Cellumcibum fucking mors, of all the cheap shit…. Gods damn it!”

“But, all inventions have trial periods. Even godhood. My first attempt was a bit messier than most. I’m sure you’ve seen the community response.”

“At least that cheap bitch didn’t mess with my seals.”

“Because you aren’t an ancient being of unfathomable cunning. You’re a soldier I took down in a battle that lasted no longer than a minute. I don’t care about your machinations, because whatever they are—and I really doubt they’re much—they’re never going to threaten me.”

“Yes, thank you for clarifying my very obvious implication."

“That’s some impressive drive you have. Keep it up. Having a goal is good for your cognitive functions, after all.”

“No, I’d never kill you. Losing your skill would make the world a shallower place. On the contrary, I’m going to make you immortal.”

“What kind of activity. Be specific."

“Alright, where the hell are you people? You should be at the lab by now, I’ll have you know. You’re putting me behind schedule. Let me check the visu— Oh, you backwater bitch!”

"Take comfort in that, Archduke—Salis is about to become a very important place.”

Kyu’s hand closed around the woman’s arm on a missed punch, caused a sharp intake of breath. A triumphant smirk spread across Kyu’s face as she recalled her rigorous training. Swiftly, she expertly used her opponent’s own force against her, sent the smaller woman crashing down onto her back with a resounding thud. The impact reverberated through the air, kicked up pollen from the bed of flowers. With a swift motion, Kyu removed the mask, exposed the woman’s identity. “Ayako-san,” Kyu said, her voice filled with a mix of admiration and satisfaction, “you are improving.” With a bit of a huff, Ayako declined Kyu’s offered hand. “Whatever, Kyu-san. Master Hiroshi sent me to find your ox of a brother, and I cannot.”
