Something about Ambrosius’s reaction to cutting off Ballister’s arm

He drops his sword and looks like his mind went off line before doing a hard reboot. He acted on his lifelong training before he could process that the weapon he was “disarming” was attached to the man he loves. He looks dumbfounded and horrified, and sure some of that is probably “oh shit the queen is dead” and “did my boyfriend just murder someone?”

How many backup plans do the Bats come up with that never need executing that they just quietly sweep under the rug.

In Red Robin there's a part where Tim and Cass use a plan that required a) Tim to have a pack of his own blood attached to his back harness b) a collapsible katana blade coming out of the front of his chest, and c) Cass also owning a collapsible katana. All to fake Tim being impaled. This plan had a 4.67% chance of being required, and "even less of a chance of working".

The bag Tim was carrying around contained a pint of blood, mixed with glycerin water. Just strapped to his back. How long did he intend to carry it around for? Was this bag of blood rotting a concern? Did he do anything to treat the blood so it wouldn't rot? How long did it take to modify his Red Robin suit to include a collapsible katana blade in the front?

I repeat, this plan had a 4.67% percent of needing to be executed.

For every plan they go through with there's got to be at least like 5-10 that never need to be used. How much random stuff do they just have on hand or one phone call or button press away.

Tim has to empty his belts for some reason one day and there's a pack of fireworks and matches for an escape plan that has a 2.09% of being needed, a clown wig and makeup because he might need to impersonate a clown later that week, a vacuum sealed hamburger whose purpose he refuses to disclose, and other odds and ends.

I would make a joke about being able to pick up a Bat, shake them upside-down by the ankles and have a comical, seemingly random assortment of objects rain down, but they've probably already prepared for that scenario too.

Stupid Little Details I Forgot I Loved About Wreck-it Ralph

Ralph’s teal undershirt. I don’t know who came up with it, or if it was meant to just symbolize his similarities to Vanellope (outcast, looking for some appreciation, in desperate need of hugs & a decent bed) and Felix (good guy, really sweet when you give him a chance, more of a lover than a fighter) or just to give his design a little something to make it all pop, but by God it was the perfect decision!

Felix is a video game character who absolutely hates conflict. He’ll do anything to avoid direct confrontation, and even his gameplay is about mitigating the damage Ralph causes. Which makes his interactions with Calhoun & his outburst in the Fungeon all the more satisfying, as he stands up for himself & refuses to dance around the issues at hand.

The subtle nods to Ralph & Felix’s canon & meta origins as knockoffs of Donkey Kong & Mario respectively. Ralph went through a LOT of changes in early development, but you can see hints of his relation to Donkey Kong in his expressions as he smashes the jawbreaker & when he pounds his chest with excitement as Vanellope taps into her racing skills for the first time.

Calhoun’s hair serving as a metaphor for her emotional state. There were early plans to give her camouflage powers and have her disappear into the background when she got more distressed, but the crew thought it would be a bit too distracting & decided to use her bangs to represent her emotions instead. A wise decision, especially when her hair subtly comes over her eyes during the wedding flashback as she guns down the Cy Bug that ate (and started transforming into) her husband.

Did you know that TFWiki constantly goes out of its way to mock people that bash GoBots?

yes, and it’s very based of them. i know the wiki’s humor, a mixture of meta and sarcasm, isn’t for everybody—and there are legitimately times where i think it’s up it’s own ass—but i’m glad they defend gobots by pointing out these franchises are just as unique as the other.

can you imagine if instead of cy-kill’s page on there being informative, it was just a constant comparison of him and megatron? wouldn’t it suck if people in the fandom had weird fantasies of these little gobot guys being killed by the transformers? would that suck or what?

Thinking about the “New Era” poster — why are all these knight-line kids grouped together with Ballister, instead of just Ballister alone? Why is Ambrosius of all people included?

Do you see it? None of these specific kids are white. And the fact that they’re included on an Actually This Controversial Thing Is Good poster tells us so much about the knights’ line

I saw a few POC in Gloreth’s village, but it’s likely that whoever chose the original knights (whether it was Gloreth herself or someone picking on her behalf since she was like seven) went with a largely white selection. Shoot, I wouldn’t be surprised if those knights were largely encouraged to marry among each other, given the obsession on bloodline. These kids might’ve been the results of controversial interclass(/interracial) relationships, having at least one commoner(/non-white) parent/grandparent

Ballister was tokenized, othered, rejected growing up, and he is scapegoated repeatedly for a crime he did not commit. Ambrosius’s VA specifically references the Model Minority myth when discussing his character. The entire movie is about how dangerous/deadly prejudice is. This poster alone confirms that the fact that Ballister being a man of color is just as relevant to the movie’s themes as him being queer

Warframe Asks

I saw this ask game from derelicthorror earlier this morning and wanted to run through it. I don't know that I have any Warframe players that follow me, but I thought this would be a fun thing to answer anyway. I am not actively playing right now, but I've been around for about 9 years now.

There are a lot of questions, so they're under the cut.

1. Which primary weapon is your favorite? Secondary? Melee weapon?

Tenet Arca Plasmor has been a recent favourite for me. As far as being fun to use, I used to main with a Kohm, lol. I have not found a Kuva Kohm yet, unfortunately.  I am still a big fan of the Synoid Gammacor, despite being nerfed many years ago. I also like the chain secondaries - kuva nukor and tenet cycron. My old main used to also be the rakta ballistica! I do not have a ballistica prime, sadly :(  Melee weapon has always been the tonbo <3 I love it so so much and was lucky enough to get a riven from my friend.  I tend to skew towards weapons that are fun to use, rather than being meta. Sometimes there is overlap, but not always.

2. Do you prefer long-range combat or are you a frontliner?

Oh baby, I still spin-to-win even if it’s not the meta anymore. I prefer melee combat by far. 

3. If you could naturally inflict any kind of damage, what kind would it be (i.e. heat, radiation, cold, magnetic)?

Radiation is just fun, but that might be the Mesa Main speaking. I do enjoy murdering my friends with friendly fire. 

4. Who was your starter frame?

5. Favorite NPC?

6. Least favorite NPC?

7. Which faction has your favorite aesthetic/architectural design?

I am a Corpus hoe, though obviously orokin stuff looks cool as hell with the gold. 

8. What’s your favorite piece of Warframe lore?

I don't really know that I have one. I feel like the lore is a bit confusing most of the time. Things get retconned, etc. I play the game with blinders on when it comes to the lore and always have.

9. What’s your favorite Operator accessory?

I love the umbra scarf when it’s open. I still use my operator because of the accessories tbh

10. Favorite ephemera?

Gloriana or Peach Blossom

11. Least favorite ephemera?

Out of the ones I own, either the Nyctalus or Eros Wings. Just too big. And the disappearing thing never works as well as I'd like, so I just avoid them.

12. Who is your favorite Cephalon?

Cy

13. What volume do you have Ordis set to?

Zero. I have personally not ever loved Ordis. After 8 years, I just cannot anymore. It did make doing New War a little funny though because his volume slider, of course, works for quests too. I think I did temporarily turn up his volume for the quest. 

14. Which quest is your favorite?

The Second Dream will always hold a special place in my heart. 

15. Which syndicate(s) are you allied with?

PERRIN SEQUENCE BABY Also Red Veil and New Loka

16. What is your Railjack named?

SSV Normandy, of course :) 

17. Kubrow or kavat?

MOAs, even if they’re just a pale imitation of true MOAs.  But to answer the actual question, Kavats if the DNA wasn’t a pain in the ass to get. I used to heavily breed kubrows so I’m burnt out on them. 

18. What’s your favorite track in the OST?

March of the MOA of course. I was super stuck on For Narmer after New War, though. 

19. Who comes to mind first at the phrase “Space Dad”?

Teshin, because apparently that’s what people call him? He can’t be my dad, though, I wanna do him nasty. 

20. Which faction do you hate fighting the most?

Orokin, because you get the worst of all the factions. Ancients, bombards, nullifiers, etc. 

21. What was your first Prime build?

Jeez, it’s been too long. I’m almost sure my first prime was Mag though. 

22. Do your operator and Warframe wear matching colors?

It depends! Mostly, yes. All of my frames and my operator have a pink/white/black/gold default. I have a few other “default” palettes I use for some frames, like neon pink/green/blue and black. When I use the alternates, I don’t change my operator. 

23. Which Warframe would you take grocery shopping?

Mag because I love her. 

24. Are you Sun, Moon, or neutrally aligned?

I think I’m Moon? I don’t even remember what this shit does. Have they fully explained it? All I know is that you can’t change it. I logged in earlier to look at my crew members but forgot to look at this.

25. Which planet is your favorite to run missions on?

Anything but Europa lol

26. Cetus, Fortuna, or the Necralisk?

Fortuna, hands down. I don’t like the melt though :( give me back the snow

27. What are your Railjack crewmembers’ names?

Xapp Fahkk (my first Lich, who I accidentally converted), Aeloeth, and Orukk Jiss lol I also have some cool friends like Naz Ner, Spelm, and Probate Akitiorikaidoj.  I actually logged in just to see what their names were, and while I was already online, figured I’d go see what Ticker had today. Which means I adopted Brian for the low low price of a million credits (worth it).

28. Which Warframe is the most attractive?

I have always been hot for Mag. And Mesa Prime, of course. 

29. What’s a Warframe headcanon you have?

I'm not sure I have anything super thrilling, I've been out too long. I do remember that my clanmates and I used to make jokes about us all living in our dojo with our pet MOAs. Which was before pet MOAs were actually a thing and before operator reveals.

30. Do you play public or solo?

SOLO. I hate pubs. 

31. Which color palette is your favorite?

Metisse, of course. 

32. What’s your favorite floof?

The ostia vasca kavat floofs and their little red eyes. Adorable!

None, tbh, but I can deal with Biz most.

在词汇教学中，知识、技能与智力三者之间的关系其实如我们学开车一样，第一步是学习交通法规，即学习词汇、句型、语法等基础知识；

第三步是能应对各种天气、路况、车型，最终实现驾驶自如，即有了灵活运用英语知识和技能的智力，从而达到熟练输出语言的目的。具体如下图所示：
