A = Aftercare (what they’re like after sex)
⚘ for bakugo, aftercare depends on the sex.
⚘ during more intimate moments he’s more willing to care for you after, showing you just how much he loves you through these smaller actions.
⚘ giving you an extra pillow or rubbing small circles into your back, you name it.
⚘ but if you two are just fucking?
⚘ good luck with that.
⚘ he’s much more focused on catching his breath and getting comfortable under the covers but regardless, cuddles are a definitely happening.
B = Body part (their favorite body part of theirs and also their partner’s)
⚘ he’s absolutely obsessed with your thighs.
⚘ the way he sees the muscles in your thighs work as you sink yourself down on his cock over and over, your breasts bouncing in every direction as you set the hard pace.
⚘ he loves gripping his fingers into them as he tries to control your movements, your breathy moans urging him to go faster.
⚘ for him, his favorite body part is his arms.
⚘ he spends a lot of time working out and toning his body for hero work, so when he sees you enjoying his handiwork, he gets pretty smug.
⚘ but also because he loves the feeling of you wrapped in his arms after, protecting you from anything and everything that might try to hurt you.
C = Cum (anything to do with cum, basically)
⚘ bakugo never has a bad orgasm with you, he’s always giving you everything he’s got.
⚘ there’s no way he couldn’t, with just how your walls milk him after every time he makes you cum around his cock.
⚘ when bakugo cums, he cums hard.
⚘ and that means an even bigger mess to clean up.
⚘ honestly, it’s a surprise how you haven’t ended up pregnant...
D = Dirty secret (pretty self explanatory, a dirty secret of theirs)
⚘ he secretly likes when you take control in the bedroom.
⚘ he’d never tell you this, of course.
⚘ but sometimes, he likes the idea of you throwing him back onto the bed and just fucking riding him until he’s a whimpering mess.
⚘ other times, he wants to feel loved too.
⚘ instead of making love to you, he wants you to make love to him.
⚘ if that makes sense.
E = Experience (how experienced are they? do they know what they’re doing?)
⚘ now this is just my opinion here but-
⚘ i think bakugo wouldn’t be very open to having sex with just anyone.
⚘ he’s very tsundere when it comes to liking someone, and his personality can be a bit much for people at times.
⚘ not to mention he’d be so focused on surpassing deku and becoming the number one hero, that relationships wouldn’t be something he’d want to commit to.
⚘ so depending on when you two become an item, bakugo might still be a virgin.
⚘ now that’s not say he wouldn’t ever have sex before you, but the possibility is there.
F = Favorite position (this goes without saying)
⚘ he loves fucking you from behind.
⚘ his fingers gripping onto your hips so hard that they leave bruises, while he pounds into you until you can’t even see straight.
⚘ he gets better leverage this way as his hand comes down to force your head into the mattress as he continues slam his hips into you.
⚘ he’s also really into sixty-nine.
⚘ your mouth wrapped deliciously around his cock and he delves his tongue into your slick folds.
G = Goofy (are they more serious in the moment? are they humorous? etc.)
⚘ he wouldn’t be humorous AT ALL.
⚘ unless he’s teasing you, but that’s another thing all on its own.
⚘ he’s too in the moment to be joking around, wanting instead to focus on you and all the ways he can make you scream his name in ecstasy.
⚘ would definitely still call you ‘dumbass’, even in your more intimate moments.
H = Hair (how well groomed are they? does the carpet match the drapes? etc.)
⚘ bakugo likes to keep his pubic hair trimmed and not too messy.
⚘ doesn’t mean it might not get out of hand sometimes.
⚘ but he’s pretty good at keeping everything neat and well groomed.
⚘ it’s the same color as his own ashy blonde hair, with a little of the same jaggedness to it as well.
⚘ although, since he keeps it trimmed, it’s not as messy as his own hair.
I = Intimacy (how are they during the moment? the romantic aspect)
⚘ he’s not very romantic when it comes to sex, but that doesn’t mean he can’t be.
⚘ when it comes to special moments between the two of you, he’s more likely to slow down and take his time with you.
⚘ but bakugo likes having sex.
⚘ like a lot.
⚘ so more often times than not, he’s going to be fucking your brains out, feelings be damned.
⚘ that’s his way of showing you how much he loves you.
J = Jack off (masturbation headcanon)
⚘ he doesn’t jack off as often when he’s in a relationship.
⚘ why should he now that he has you?
⚘ like i said, bakugo likes sex.
⚘ he’d much rather be making you cum all over his cock than simply fisting it by himself.
⚘ the only time he really takes the time to touch himself is if you two are doing it together or he’s away for work.
⚘ otherwise, your pussy is the only thing that he wants wrapped around his dick.
K = Kink (one or more of their kinks)
⚘ teasing is a big one for him, he loves to make you all hot and needy for him.
⚘ and the way you practically beg him to just put it in and fuck you already, well...
⚘ let’s just say, you’re lucky bakugo still has some restraint.
⚘ otherwise, there is no way you’d be walking straight ever again.
⚘ because when it comes to you, all he wants is to show you whose cock you belong to.
L = Location (favorite places to do the do)
⚘ get him aroused enough in public and there’s a good chance he’ll fuck you as soon as he gets the chance.
⚘ and especially if you’re acting like a brat.
⚘ he likes how easily he can take control in situations like these, you being too caught up with his actions to protest.
⚘ but on the other hand he doesn’t want anyone seeing you in such a vulnerable state that’s meant for his eyes only.
⚘ but god, if he doesn’t enjoy hearing you desperately hold back your moans as he’s fucking you.
⚘ “shut up, dumbass... you don’t want anyone to hear us, do you?”
M = Motivation (what turns them on, gets them going)
⚘ i think the better question is, what doesn’t turn him on?
⚘ he’s down to fuck whenever and wherever, doesn’t matter the circumstance.
⚘ it’s hard enough for his to resist you as it is, with you being so goddamn sexy and all.
⚘ sometimes he just can’t help himself, he just HAS to have you right then and there.
N = No (something they wouldn’t do, turn offs)
⚘ while bakugo can be rough at times, there is no way he’d want to actually hurt you.
⚘ he cares about you too much to see you in any significant amount of pain.
⚘ now that’s not to say he won’t punish you, of course.
⚘ especially when you’re being a goddamn brat.
⚘ spanking your ass until it’s nice and red, maybe a little love bite here and there.
⚘ but at any point if you’re in pain or crying, he’s right there to calm you down and whisper sweet words of affection while rubbing circles into your back.
O = Oral (preference in giving or receiving, skill, etc.)
⚘ he won’t lie to you, he definitely prefers receiving than giving.
⚘ that’s just how he is.
⚘ doesn’t mean he won’t take his sweet time sitting himself between your thighs, lapping at all your sweet juices as he holds you down in place.
⚘ bakugo is NEVER one to half-ass things, especially when it comes to you.
⚘ and while he would much rather receive than give, he’ll never disappoint you in the slightest.
P = Pace (are they fast and rough? slow and sensual? etc.)
⚘ bakugo likes to keep a hard and fast pace when he’s slamming his hips into yours.
⚘ he’s fascinated by all noises that he can draw out of you when his cock is buried into your heat all the way down to the base.
⚘ and god, does that not feel so fucking good.
⚘ sometimes he’ll want a slower and more sensual pace, but that’s usually saved for special moments.
⚘ like when the two of you are celebrating your anniversary, or when you both decided to make a little brat of your own.
⚘ but, on rare occasions, he just wants to make love to you.
Q = Quickie (their opinions on quickies, how often, etc.)
⚘ he really likes quickies.
⚘ like i mean, he really likes them.
⚘ you two have some extra time to yourselves? might as well let him fuck the shit out of you.
⚘ and he’s not going to stop until you’re practically begging to cum.
⚘ then, and only then, will he reach his fingers down to press tiny, fast circles to your clit.
⚘ he’s going to give you one of the best orgasms you’ve ever had in your entire life.
R = Risk (are they game to experiment? do they take risks? etc.)
⚘ he’s down for some experimentation.
⚘ as long as it’s nothing too extreme and you both agree to do it, he’s more than willing to go along with whatever you might want to do.
⚘ remember kids, safety first!
⚘ however, i don’t think bakugo would want to be pegged.
⚘ at least not without some solid convincing on your part.
S = Stamina (how many rounds can they go for? how long do they last?)
⚘ he can last for about 2 hours maximum.
⚘ what can he say? he’s got a lot of stamina, especially for the woman he loves so goddamn much.
⚘ he’d be more than glad to fuck you for two hours straight, and god only help you if you let him.
⚘ needless to say, you won’t be walking for a few days.
⚘ now for bakugo, the rounds depend on how needy the both of you are for each other.
⚘ and for that, the highest he can go is five rounds in one night.
T = Toys (do they own toys? do they use them? on a partner or themselves?)
⚘ he would be totally down to use sex toys with you.
⚘ i mean, this man can fuck you good enough on his own, but sometimes you got to throw something new into the mix.
⚘ he’d even be down to go with you when buying them, but he’d probably not say much.
⚘ as much as bakugo would want to do it, he still has his shy side when it comes to certain things.
⚘ especially when it comes to buying something as lewd as sex toys in public.
⚘ he’s a tsundere, after all.
U = Unfair (how much they like to tease)
⚘ this can go one of two ways; he gets too worked up himself and gives in or, he teases you until you’re absolutely begging for his cock.
⚘ there is no in-between.
⚘ sometimes bakugo doesn’t have the patience to tease you.
⚘ but other times, that’s all he wants to fucking do.
⚘ either way, he’s going to be making you cum so many times that you’ll both lose count.
V = Volume (how loud they are, what sounds they make, etc.)
⚘ he’s not very vocal when it comes to moaning during sex.
⚘ expect a few grunts and curses here and there, but moans...
⚘ nope.
⚘ he’ll get louder the closer he is to cumming as he pounds his hips into yours, the sound of skin slapping against skin reverberating around the room.
W = Wild card (a random headcanon for the character)
⚘ something bakugo would never tell you, is that he really wants to start a family with you.
⚘ as i said before, bakugo would need to like you a lot to even consider dating you let alone have sex.
⚘ so if he’s with you, it’s for the long road.
⚘ and that includes having kids of your own.
⚘ this is probably not until much later in your relationship though, as kids are a big commitment and he doesn’t want to get into that right away.
⚘ but thinking about you all big and regnant with his kid, is definitely something he won’t want to stop picturing any time soon.
X = X-ray (let’s see what’s going on under those clothes)
⚘ he’s 5.8 inches, circumcised.
⚘ his cock is a bit on the thinner side, with a nice, long vein running from the underside all the way to the tip.
⚘ he goes absolutely feral whenever you run your tongue up and down along it.
⚘ and don’t even get him started on when you swirl your tongue around the tip, he fucking loves when you do that.
⚘ just know what you’re getting yourself into if you even tease him the slightest, you’re asking for a whole world of trouble.
Y = Yearning (how high is their sex drive?)
⚘ bakugo has a pretty high sex drive.
⚘ no no, i still don’t think you understand.
⚘ he has a pretty HIGH sex drive, like he wants to fuck ALL THE TIME.
⚘ it’s almost surprising... almost.
⚘ but really just give him an inch and he’ll take a fucking mile.
⚘ he doesn’t even need an excuse to fuck you, he just HAS to.
Z = Zzz (how quickly they fall asleep afterwards)
⚘ he can be pretty quick to fall asleep afterwards.
⚘ especially after you two just had a round of rough sex.
⚘ what can he say? you take a lot out of him.
⚘ in only the best ways, of course.
⚘ he loves showing you just how much he cares about you when it comes to sex...
⚘ and with bakugo, there’s no way he’d ever let you forget it.

[-infatuatedgirl]
Hey, what’s your name? Stephanie.
How old were you when you got your first cell phone? Weren’t you just tingling with excitement? I was 16. I wouldn’t say that, but it was cool. I’m old, so it wasn’t a smartphone yet.
Do you ever read the results of the surveys you make? I don’t make surveys.
How many belts do you own? Zero.
If you had to live with one pair of shoes, what would they be? My Adidas.
Do you believe in love at first sight? No.
How about forevers? It happens.
What’s your comfort food? Lately, it’s actually been ice cream, which is weird cause I wasn’t ever a big ice cream person before.
What do you use your cell phone for, aside texting and calls? Ha, I hardly use it for those reasons. I use it for the apps more than anything.
Are there any picture frames in the room you are in? Yes.
Did you ever ride a limo? Yeah, several times. My dad used to work for a limo company when I was a kid, it was cool.
Do you use a lot of hair products? Not at all, just shampoo and detangler.
Creepiest movie ever? Hmm. Not sure which movie I’d give that title to.
Do you ever wonder what your life looks like to someone else’s eyes? Gah, I don’t want to know.
Have you ever walked into a crowded room and felt so alone? I do often feel alone even though I’m rarely completely by myself.
What’s your current status in facebook/myspace? I shared some random meme thing earlier. I like never post actual statuses anymore, I just share stuff now and then.
What was your dream job as a child? I wanted to be a teacher.
Is it still the same? No.
Did you ever stay up all night? Fun, right? As a kid? Yeah. Especially when my cousins slept over. We’d try to stay up with junk food and soda and watch movies, play games, etc and see who could stay up the latest. Ever took a Bzoinkoid? I don’t know what that is.
Do you like cracking your knuckles? Sometimes it just needs to be done.
What color’s your car? I don’t have a car, I don’t drive.
If you don’t have one, what color would you like it to be? I’m not sure.
Did you ever do something you promised yourself not to? Didn’t it feel good? I have and some of the things did and some I regretted.
What’s the ‘craziest’ color you dyed your hair? Red was my first bold color I did.
What’s your definition of fearless? Having no fear? ha.
Don’t you get a bit happy when you take an iPod shuffle survey and the song fits perfectly? I don’t like those type of surveys, actually.
Do you like paranormal stuff?(shows, movies, books, etc) Nah.
Do you believe in those? No.
What’s the weirdest compliment you ever received? Did you even take it as a compliment? “You’re pretty for having polio.” I’ll never forget some random woman coming up and saying that to me. Like what does that even mean? I don’t have polio and I don’t know why she assumed I did apart from the fact I’m in a wheelchair? Also, does that imply people with polio aren’t usually attractive according to them?
Do you have a favorite stuff toy? What’s it’s name? My shitload of stuffed animal giraffes. What’s the most exciting project you were given? Hmm.
Are you familiar with Polyvore? If so, do you have an account? No.
Did you accomplish your New Years Resolutions last year? I stopped making those several years ago.
What are you passionate about? Nothing. :/
Without passion we’d truly be dead. Fact or fiction? I haven’t felt passionate about something in a long time and it does feel like I’m really missing something. Like, I think you should have something  you’re passionate about, it’s fulfilling.
Are you guilty of internet slang? I use the ones like, “omg”, “wtf”, and “lol”, but otherwise I’m very much about being grammatically correct.
Would you rather be hurt physically or emotionally? I would rather just not be hurt at all - how about that?! <<< Right, like wtf.
Were you ever truly and completely happy with yourself? No.
Is your life balanced right now? No.
Did you ever roll down a ramp or hill? Countless ramps as someone in a wheelchair.
If you can’t be with the one you love, will you be with the one who loves you? I don’t want to just settle.
What’s your favorite scent? I have a lot.
Are/were you forced to believe something you don’t? When I was a kid both sets of grandparents tried pushing their religious beliefs on me.
Are you very dependent on people? I’ve had to be very dependent the past couple months now due to health setbacks.
Do you let small things ruin your day? Ugh, I do let stuff like that get to me way too much and too easily these days. Like every little thing.
Do you over-analyze things? Yepppp.
Did you ever wonder what life would be in a stranded island? It would be depressing and lonely. Also, probably terrifying. <<< Yeah, not something I’d want to experience that’s for sure.
Do you have a good sense of direction? Nooo. I’m the worst.
What’s your opinion on Kesha? I liked some of her songs.
Are you excited for what the future holds for you? I’m scared of what the future holds for me to be honest.
Are you more of a listener or a talker? I’m definitely more of a listener than a talker.
Indoorsy or outdorsy? Indoorsy for sure.
Name something that you think is overrated. Bacon and sushi. It seems like literally everyone loves both and I don’t get it.
How about underrated? Hmm.
What’s one question you HATE being asked? Hmm.
Is it personal or it just bugs you? --
Do you own any comic books? Nope.
Or you’re more of an anime/manga person? I’m not into those either.
Do you have any weird phobias? If so, what? Ugh, I don’t even want to type the words but the fear of holes and clusters lsjlskfklsdjflkdsjfdlsk
Were you ever obsessed with something then realized how lame it really was? Twilight. :X
If you had a time machine would you visit the past or future? The past.
Or is the present too good for you? No, definitely not. What would you change in that time zone? In the past? I’d change some things that would make it so I wasn’t dealing with some of the health stuff I’m going through now. Some of it could have been so easily avoided and managed, but I was stubborn, irresponsible, and negligent.
What’s the title of the first survey you created? I’ve only made one survey, many years ago, and I don’t think I titled it.
What color is your iPod/mp3? I have a black iPod Touch, but it’s been stored away and unused since 2012. I use Spotify on my phone for music, which is gold.
Do you think you could live without music? I’ve hardly listened to music at all this year so far and I’m still alive.
Describe your favorite top. I love all my graphic tees.
Do you change your style frequently? No. Especially not now. I just live in leggings and graphic tees.
Are you a tshirt-and-jeans kind of person? No, I’m a leggings and graphic tees kind of person.
What’s the most traumatizing event that ever happened to you? The one that made me a paraplegic.
Do you own a diary/journal? This is it.
Do you write there often? I definitely do.
Don’t you hate it when there’s nothing good showing on TV? I got into this routine the past few months and have my lineup of shows.
Insert your favorite smiley here: :)
How many live concerts have you been to? Like 6 or 7.
Did you keep the tickets as a souvenir? Yeah.
Tinypic or Photobucket? Aw, the days of Tinypic and Photobucket. I’m sad because I have a shit ton of photos saved on Photobucket and I can’t access my account. D: Like, I’m talkin’ photos from Myspace days.
Tumblr or Xanga? Well, it’s just Tumblr now... <<< I really do like Tumblr, but I also miss Xanga. The survey community was huge.
What do you do when you’re really nervous? Fidget, squirm, pick at my nails, bite/pick my lips, mess with my hair, twiddle with my hands, jump to worst case scenarios...
Do you have a bad habit you just can’t break? Picking at my lips, nails, and skin. :/
Would you say you’re down to earth? I think so.
What’s the first thing you see when you look at yourself in the mirror? I really try to avoid that as much as possible cause I hate what I see.
Do you find peace in being alone? I haven’t felt peace in a very long time.
Summer holds such wonderful things. Fact or fiction? Fiction. I could just skip right on by it to be honest.
Ah,summer (: What’s your favorite thing about it? The only thing I like is if I’m able to go to the beach. If I had a beach house with private beach access and didn’t feel miserable for months, then I wouldn’t mind summertime.
Are you faint to the sight of blood? Just the mention of it makes me feel weak.
What’s something you’ve grown used to? I feel like this is how it’s always going to be... :/
What’s your favorite dessert? Lately, I’ve been really into ice cream. I was not a big ice cream person before, like until recently it had been a few years since I had any at all. Suddenly, I’m all about it. *shrug*
Do you like spicy food? I loved spicy food, but I can’t have it anymore. :(
Are you easily bored? I didn’t used to be. I think my boredom is actually the depression, though.
Do you wish for the same thing at 11:11? Or does it change depending on how things are going in your life? I don’t do that.
Do you even wish at 11:11? Nope.

Hellooo!! I love love LOVE the diamond box matchup you did!! You're amazing!! Your blog is incredible!! Now I'm here for a romantic haven box Haikyuu matchup pls🥺
Appearance: My name is Kay! She/her, black, straight, 5'1, I have a slightly athletic & curvy-ish figure (lol idk), short-ish hair(like mid-neck), dark brown eyes, shoe size 9, I like to dress comfy so I'm always in oversized hoodies, sweatpants, sneakers, sweatshirts and shorts. I like colorful clothes too, high waisted jeans and shorts and boots. I'm not very fashionable but I try lol.
Personality:
Basics: infp-t, Hufflepuff, Taurus sun, scorpio moon, sanguine, chaotic good, ambivert.
Some positive traits: I'm optimistic, friendly, energetic, organized, enthusiastic, observant, happy, open-minded, loving, encouraging and inquisitive!!
Some negative traits: I'm annoying, perfectionist, insecure, forgetful, easily distracted, kinda lazy, argumentative, too nice at times and clingy.
I love learning new things!! Currently I'm learning Korean, how to draw, how to paint and songs on the saxophone.
When I'm up for it, I love fun physical activity!! Going for a hike, going to the gym, bungee jumping, mountain climbing, going camping and etc :D
Although I love going out, nothing beats lazy days at home. I can spend hours by myself and still be happy. When alone I usually sleep or watch a movie/anime or practice my drawing or saxophone or try and learn something new!
I have a horrible memory and can never remember important dates 😭 I've forgotten my own birthday a few times (rip) so people can get mad at me for missing appointments, forgetting birthdays and other important days. I try my best to organize everything necessary on my phone calendar so I can be reminded.
I love seeing people happy! Nothing can fulfill my day more than knowing I put a smile on someone's face! I usually try my best to help out anyone who needs it and to the best of my ability! This has led to me getting taken advantage of in the past but I can't help but try and make others happy. I've developed a thicker skin and some trust issues as I've grown up because of it.
I love hyping my friends/family up!! Do you need a boost in confidence? Here I am, ready to help you remember the absolute king/queen/royalty that you are!! I'm usually very energetic and enthusiastic about many things and I love spreading positivity around!!
My love language is physical touch! So touch is very important to me in my relationships. Though I am insecure so I tend to think that I smother the people I care about with too much affection idk lol. I live for hugs and cuddles and hand holding 👉🏿👈🏿 but because of that I feel like I'm very clingy and annoying skskfksjd
I'm introverted in nature so although I mean usually full of energy and love making new friends, I can't do it for too long lol. My social battery runs out really fast and I have to hide away and recharge before I can be fully social again, otherwise I won't be my best self. I treasure personal time and understand when people need time for themselves too.
I love spontaneity!! I love living in the moment and doing stuff just for the hell of it!! Wanna go on a road trip? Dance in the rain? Build houses for charity? Go to McDonald's at 2am? Go on a long walk? SIGN ME UP!!
I can also be lazy and unmotivated to do stuff. If something doesn't interest me, I'd find myself incapable of doing it or I'd do it with great difficulty. I'm one of those 'do something when inspiration/motivation hits you otherwise it'll be absolute shit' types.
But when I do have motivation/inspiration that's when my perfectionism comes in and I have to do it in the best possible way and anything less is an insult to me, my family, my ancestors and descendants lmaoo. Unfortunately I subconsciously set a very high bar for myself which can be overwhelming and stressful but when I manage to produce work of that quality, it's very satisfying and rewarding jshkshdhsj
I have more to add but I feel like this is getting way too long 💀 lemme just move to the next section heheheh
Hobbies: I LOVE listening to music, learning new things, watching movies/anime, sleeping, reading, writing, playing saxophone (I'm still learning tho lol), swimming, drawing, journaling, making friends, and cooking!
My music taste: any type of rock (punk rock, grunge, j-rock, metal), pop, KPOP, RnB, jazz, dubstep, lofi hip hop, rap, trap, krnb, anime OP's and bangers from: Elvis, the beach boys, Queen, Khalid, Ateez, Harry styles, Kendrick Lamar, p!atd, mcr, fallout boy, Nirvana, BTS, mxmtoon, Marianas trench, twenty one pilots, stray kids, Jay Park, crush, Dreamcatcher, Skrillex, MJ, troye sivan etc
Fun facts:
I'm more of a cat person but I live dogs and think they're adorable!!
I have four piercings and I plan on getting more soon!!
I'm a night owl, and get super grumpy in the mornings especially when woken up unexpectedly >:/
Although I love making friends, I only have like 1/2 super close friends and like 20+ acquaintances lol
I want to get a tattoo soon but idk what to get :(
I'm super addicted to coffee (rip) and if I don't take some for some time (like a week) I'll get the worst migraines and I won't feel better until I drink some coffee 😭
That's it!! I hope i wrote enough stuff!! Did I leave anything out? If you need more pls tell me and I'll send another ask :D Take your time!! I'm in no rush. I'll patiently wait even though you get writers block or have a large amount of asks 😌 pls stay safe and healthy!! Drink lots of water, sleep well and have an amazing day/night!! 💙✨

- You both would often plan pranks and majority of the times, it would succeed
"Okay okay, so what are we doing today?" Kay asked the silver haired male. "Oh~ maybe we can scare Asahi or anyone for that matter with a beetle?" Sugawara suggested. "That's--no," Kay responded.

3 am shenanigans
It’s 3 am in the morning. Almost everyone is fast asleep or in their homes, well almost. The night sky is littered with diamond in the sky. The streets were silent but it was comforting. A few people walked here and there. And a few cars passes by there and here. “What are we doing up so late?” A silver haired man said as he yawned. “We’ll be going to Mc Donald’s! What else?” The female responded as she smiled at him. “Is it even open at this time?” He asked. “Koushi, darling, it is open,” Kay, the lover of our beloved silvered male man said as she smiled. Sugawara chuckled and held her hand, the smile on his face was evident. “You know, we should be sleeping by now right?” He said as he pulled her closer. “And so what? I wasn’t planning on sleeping early! I slept the whole day yesterday and missed the chance to hang out with you,” The girl responded.
A small blush appeared on the male’s face and he giggled. “That’s very sweet bu-“ He was about to say but was silenced by the girl. “That was very sweet but we could’ve done this later on or tomorrow. Well, sorry to break it to you, Love. But, we are here,” She said as she pulled the male inside the fast food chain. And soon enough, the two got their orders and enjoyed their meal. “I don’t know why but this hits different,” Kay said as she eat a French fry. “It really does. Especially since you are here,” Sugawara stated as he patted her head. Now, she was the one blushing. As the two chatted, the other customers and staff glanced at them every now and then. None of them were annoyed at their interactions. On the contrary, they enjoyed watching them,
Some felt envious of their relationship. Some dreamt to have something like that. And others remembered the times of old. The two were so sweet, it’s almost too much. Laughter and chattering echoed through the building from both the couple and the people around them. Then they were dub the “3 am couple” as the two would often venture in that restaurant at 3 am in the morning.

///
Weeks had passed since Orion and Megatronus had parted.
Megatronus had fought more battles at the rink. Since then, a familiar ache had set into his bones, making him wonder why every fight seemed duller than the last. Yet, for the crowds that surrounded him most nights, he put on his best show. Judging by the sounds of their cheers, he had done a good job at that.
Though, at his spark, their cheers felt distant and faded.
Why was it such a big deal, that the archivist did not wish to see you fight?
When he was alone, the thought came to bother him, to almost taunt him for being so…dramatic. For a moment, he’d justify himself, but Megatronus quickly came to see that Orion had come with only good intentions.
What I lacked was understanding, a grand flaw I have yet to fix, it seems.
Parts of him wished he could forget about Orion…but most of him wished only to see his friend again—to say to him it was all ok. The last thing he’d wanted was to scare his friend away…and he’d done just that.
All of him wondered…could Orion ever forgive him for being so childish?
///
Orion Pax had continued his work and studies. He spent his days working around the building, organizing, and filing one thing after another. At night, the young archivist studied until he couldn’t keep his optics open any longer. He worked tirelessly at his projects, writing papers with much fervor.
Yet deep down, he felt an emptiness. Sadness and guilt continued to weigh on his spark.
Orion wished more and more with each passing day, that he had kept silent. Had Megatronus been angry at him, he wouldn’t have minded…but the rejection that shone so clearly in his gaze…
Orion could scarcely bear the thought as it came to distract him every now and then. Still, the young bot kept a small hope alive in his spark.
Primus willing—he thought, setting down a box of old files—I’ll see him soon. Maybe then, I can fix things…I only hope that time has done its work.
Almost without thinking, Orion moved towards a window, to gaze absent-mindedly at the stars dotting the sky—sparkling from afar, mildly, elegantly.  He had realized only in these past weeks that Megatronus was someone special to him…
A friend I…do not wish to lose if I can help it.
///
             “Orion, are you in here?”
The young bot looked up from his holopad, hearing a voice from outside the door, abruptly torn from a riveting story about—
“Yes, Alpha Trion,” he left his desk and made his way to the door. It was quite odd that his teacher should come by at such an hour, but all the same, Orion offered no argument.
He stepped outside to find his mentor already slowly walking down the hall. Before he could inquire about anything, Alpha Trion lifted an arm to silence him, not even turning to do so.
             “Walk with me, my student.”
Without a word, Orion followed the master archivist, quickening his pace until he had come up beside him.
In silence, they walked for a few minutes. Then, as if sensing Orion’s curiosity, Alpha Trion chuckled softly. His optics sparkled with gentleness, serenity, and boundless wisdom.
Orion had always thought that—even from the first moment he’d laid eyes on his mentor, when he arrived at the door to Iacon.
“Orion, my student,” he began, “I am sorry to have interrupted your recreational free time.” To that, Orion gave a polite smile.
“It was no trouble at all, master.”
Alpha Trion hummed to himself and nodded. “I just wanted to let you know that I notice you have been working hard. Therefore, I wish to allow you a break.”
The surge of excitement was quickly deflated once Orion quickly remembered that such free time was not of much use to him…as he no longer had anyone to meet…and nowhere to go, really.
Sure, it was nice to read—which was usually what Orion enjoyed doing when he had the time. But since he’d met Megatronus, the prospect of hanging out with him was far more exciting than any of the tales spun in his books.
His friend was much like a tale unto himself….
“However, you cannot really use that time for much, right?”
Orion’s spark skipped a beat at his mentor’s words. He halted, staring at the floor. His teacher continued on a few steps before he, too, stopped.
           That’s right…and I have only…myself to thank for that…
As if hearing his thoughts, Alpha Trion turned to him and drew close, placing one servo on the young scholar’s shoulder. His eyes shone with something wistful…something Orion couldn’t really put into words.
           “Young spark, listen to me.”
           “I am.”
“The details of the situation are beyond my knowledge, but I only wish to say one thing. I sense that you know this, but you must fix whatever has happened between you and your friend. I know not his name, nor what caused the evident rift in your relationship. However, I do understand…”
A pure sadness—some kind of deep regret—passed over his gaze, shimmering faintly.
“I understand what it means to lose a friend, to wish only that you’d done or not done one thing or another. To wish you’d not let it all happen…that you could go back in time and do it all over.”
He stared to his right. Following his gaze, Orion set his optics on the gorgeous mural hanging on the wall. In silence, he studied the painting—an artist’s depiction of the Thirteen Primes, all in harmonious glory and power. Not moving his eyes either, Alpha Trion spoke once more.
“Eventually, time comes and takes from us. So, cherish what is meant to last for the moment, and replenish whatever you can. I believe you know in your spark…how to make things right. You have given it time, Orion. Do not let such a precious thing as friends slip through your servos like sand.…for no matter who they are, if they bring you joy…”
           “Such a bot is…a true friend….”
“And now, there is understanding. Trust that he…has gained his.”
Leaving Orion to stare ahead, speechless, Alpha Trion gave his student one last pat on the shoulder, then turned and continued down the halls, disappearing round the bend.
///
            Tap, tap, tap, tap!!
Light footfalls sounded on the dirty, metal floors, quickly drawing closer to Megatronus’s quarters. He only barely heard them as he sat alone in his room.
His eyes were closed, head against the wall and tilted towards the ceiling.
No real thoughts swam around in his mind.
           “Megatronus, sir!”
The shrill voice reached his audio receptors, jolting him out of this blank state. He growled to himself, wishing he had not been disturbed. Then, with a sigh, he rose from the berth and unlocked the door to peek out into the halls.
“There you are! I—I have a message from—uh, from…” the young, thin-framed, brightly colored bot shuffled around his brown bag for a moment. At last, he pulled out a thin screen—a message tablet. As the bot entered something into his delivery log, Megatronus folded his arms, interested.
Who would be trying to contact me…who would use a message tablet…?
“It doesn’t say who it’s from, but the order here says it’s urgent—so here you go, sir.”
The bot carefully handed the gladiator the thin, glowing object. Megatronus nodded his thanks and took a step back into his room.
          “Uh—uhm, sir…”
The delivery bot stammered quietly, causing Megatronus to stop look up.
          Now what?
“Do you need something?” He asked as politely as he could.
The thin-framed mech gripped the strap of his delivery bag and looked away for a moment before nodding.
           “I, uh…I just thought—well, I wanted to let you know th-that—um…”
He shook his head harshly, worrying that Megatronus was starting to become annoyed.
“I’ve…listened to a lot of your discussions—your speeches—and, um….” He took a deep breath, then looked up to Megatronus, admiration sparkling brightly in the depths of his optics.       “You’re a hero to me, sir. I—I want to let you know that…wherever you take your fight for freedom…I, for one, am right behind you…” he bowed his head a little. “As a delivery bot, with my weak, thin frame, I’m—I’m no good in any of the professions I wish I could enter, anyway…but your speeches about—y’know, equality and all…I just get so inspired!”
Megatronus was taken completely aback by this, yet pleased to know he had one more ally in his campaign. Feeling pride in himself and joy knowing he could help this bot, he reached out and placed a firm servo on the smaller mech’s shoulder.
“You are worth as much as you wish yourself to be, young bot. And your capability is also, only defined by you.” He smiled warmly. “What is your name?”
The delivery bot looked so happy it seemed as if he’d burst.
           “Mikro, sir!”
Megatronus laughed softly. “Thank you for your kind words, support, and,” he held up the message tablet with a grin, “This.” They shared a quiet laugh. After a moment, the gladiator continued. “Always remember this, Mikro. All bots have a spark in them, and that is the only deciding factor of their worth.”
With that, he nodded a goodbye and stepped back into his room, closing the door.
           What a nice, young soul.
He set the tablet down on a table and touched it, hoping to see who had sent the—
           “Megatronus, hello.”
Orion’s face appeared on the screen, accompanied by his soft, level voice.
Megatronus was greatly surprised. He felt a twinge of anger, but it was outweighed by a strange joy at seeing and hearing his friend after these long, empty weeks…
“I am recording this from my room, and I will send it by an acquaintance of mine as soon as possible. I hope this reaches you well,” On the screen, Orion looked away, seeming nervous. “I will be at the entrance to Kaon city tomorrow. If…you are willing to meet with me…I have something to tell you—to show you—something that would not mean as much were I to share it over this screen. I apologize if I have inconvenienced you. May Primus be with you in all you do, Megatronus.”
            Click!
Megatronus stared at the blank screen, seeing his own face reflected in the black glass. He sighed, gently setting the tablet face down. He laid on his berth, staring at the ceiling, thinking.
           Finally, he reached a decision.
           “See you tomorrow, then, Orion.”
....
I wanna just apologize again if there was any weird wording, spacing, typos, etc because I’m falling asleep/my head hurts/my stomach also hurts as I’m editing this :P ,,,,it’s 2 am,,,,,but for the sake of finally posting it because I’ve wanted to for so long, I’m trying my best! I’ll read through it tomorrow and probably fix some stuff lol
Oh an dw I’m not abandoning the other fic I’m writing, just updating this one cuz it’s been a while....^^’’
ANyway, thanks so much for reading!!! <3

So how does Scrivener work cdelphiki? Any specifics? I think you talked about it a fair bit before, early in November, but I can't quite remember.
Scrivener is awesome!! Basically, it’s a word processor on steroids specifically for writers (and not student/business purposes, like Microsoft Word/Google Docs) Although you can use it for student or business purposes, if you wanted.
Basically, you use it by first creating your project. It has a lot of templates to choose from, and once you pick what you want to do, it has instructions of how to structure your project in your newly created file.  There are a ton of template options, but I’m here for the novel format:
Tumblr media
But you can write pretty much anything you can imagine in scrivener.
Pick what you want and click “choose” then save it somewhere. I have the app for ipads/iphones, so I save all my projects on dropbox so I can access them from my phone or computer. (This is how scrivener is set up for synced across platforms: over dropbox, not icloud for mac users. It took me a hot minute to figure out.) It has you name and save it up front so it can start backing up your work!!
Tumblr media
Once it’s got the project created, it will give you the informational page for the template you selected. Read through it for a lot of good information on how to use all the organizational tools for your specific project.
Now you basically just start working. There is no real wrong way to go about putting together your story.  I use scrivener for both one shots and multi-chaptered fics.  I actually keep most my one shots in one project, titled “Tumblr Prompts,” just to make it easier than having a zillion project files for single stories.
If you want a pretty detailed walkthrough of how I use scrivener, I put it all below the cut. :D
Here’s one of my my well-used project files:
Tumblr media
There’s a lot going on here. The left column is your navigation bar. This is basically your entire book. As you can see I have folders within folders. The main one, called “Manuscript” by default, is basically the book in its entirety. I then use more folders for each chapter.  Right now, since I’m still drafting, I actually just have it broken into ‘events,’ rather than chapters. This is just a me thing and is what I figured out to help me keep better track of everything.
So I have the Prologue, and then event 1.1 (act 1, event 1), 1.2, 1.3, etc.  In 1.3, as you can see, I have both chapter 3 and 4 as scene cards.  1.4 has five scene cards that will likely turn into 7 chapters, once I do a revision!
All the various colors of text are revisions.  By default, the first draft is written in black.
Tumblr media
When you’re ready to do a revision, you can turn on revision mode and select which version you’re on. I’m on my third revision. I really like this function because it lets me see my progress.
Now, inside all these folders you can see a couple different symbols there.  You can actually change the symbols of these things yourself by right clicking on the object in the navigation pane and selecting “change icon.”  I put the pencil on all my notes, so it’s very easy for me to know what to get rid of when I’m cleaning up and about to call something “done.” On Precedent, for example, whenever I publish a chapter, I go ahead and name the chapter folder in Scrivener and get rid of all the note cards so all that is left is what I actually published.
Probably one of the best things about Scrivener, is when you want to get rid of something, you don’t have to erase it entirely.  On this project here, you can see I have a file a couple under the file selected for viewing called “trash pile.”  Whenever I remove large chunks of text, I actually just copy it over to a blank scene card so it’s not ‘lost.’  I then “move to trash,” so it’s not in the way, but it’s always available to me.  Scrivener does not delete anything you ‘move to trash’ unless you specifically move to that trash bin and make it delete it.  This is great because I can’t tell you how many times I’ve ‘thrown something away’ just to realize, sometimes months later, that that exact scene would work perfectly now! And good thing I saved the draft, so I had something to start with!
Now, back to these ‘scene’ cards.  Scene cards are just the files you actually write on. I don’t know if Scrivener calls them that or not, but they’re set up like notecards. I don’t know if you ever did the notecard method in school, where you wrote major points on note cards and then arranged them into a logical order on the table? That’s basically what this is.
Tumblr media
To get to this screen, I selected the folder for section 1.4.  You can pick any folder you want, even the over all manuscript to get here.  Then you pick the view option, where the top arrow is pointing.  The first view option shows it as a document, as my other pictures have already demonstrated.
What the notecards are going to show you is your synopsis, if you have one written.  Each and every file, even the folder itself, has a spot for ‘synopsis’ and ‘notes,’ which do not count into your overall word count.  It’s really nice for keeping stuff out of the way.  I’ve found I prefer having my notes as actual scene cards, but the notes section is handy for throwing important things.  I also save the link to where I’ve posted stuff on tumblr for easy saving or research so I don’t lose anything.
If you do not have anything written in the synopsis section, the card will just show as much as the text as it can in a dark grey, rather than the black ink of the synopsis.  I rarely use the synopsis section, so you can see all my documents just have the first bits of text.
On this screen you can start dragging around cards and move them however you think things need to line up.  This works remarkably well if you write in a lot of small scenes, and need to reorganize because you realized that Tim needs to have a panic attack before he faces Ra’s.  Or whatever.  You can also reorganize at any point in the navigation pane itself.  I drag stuff between folders all the time.  That’s another reason I love having my notes on actual scene cards, because a lot of times I end up punting scenes off into the future, and it makes it way easier to drag and drop it into the next chapter folder to deal with later.
Another feature I really like is ‘targets.’
Tumblr media
To get here, I selected the overall manuscript, and then switched to the third view option, up there next to the note cards option.  It shows me my whole book this way, as well as the status of each folder or document (which I have to set myself.)  It also shows me if I had a target word count, and how close I am to reaching it.  I like my chapters to be about 3k words, so I make that my target. (set your target by clicking on the target icon on the bottom right corner of a document while in document view.)  The purple goes from a dark purple to a lighter one the closer you get. (This is because I am using the ‘theme’ “Purple Haze.” The color is based on your theme. I forget what the default is.)
You can also set daily word goals, and up at the top, below the project’s name, it’ll show you progress toward that goal. I’ve written two words today.... so I don’t have a progress bar yet.  The bar above the project’s name is for the overall word goal set. I have this project set to 100k.
I think that’s pretty much it.  The only other feature I use regularly I haven’t mentioned is the split screen.
Tumblr media
Basically, click where the arrows are pointing. When you’re in just regular view, it’ll look like a split screen, rather than a single document view button.  When you hit it, it opens your currently selected document twice, on both sides of the screen. Click on the bar for the document you want to change and then select whatever you want from your navigation pane.  I use this mostly for putting my notes on one side and my actual working document on the other. Yesterday I was using while revising, throwing anything I didn’t want anymore into my ‘trash pile’ by just dragging it across.
Once you’re done with something, you can run spelling and grammar check (because it does not check as you go, unless you go into settings and make it do that. It’s turned off by default. I find the squiggly lines distracting, so I love this feature) and use the various text tidying tools, such as the one that turns all multiple spaces into single spaces!
So yeah! That’s Scrivener. I love it so much. It has made writing so much easier. I wrote most of Life Happens in a single Microsoft Word document, and that was a huge mess and horrible and really difficult. I’ve written two long fics in their entirety now on Scrivener and I won’t ever go back.
Oh, and if anyone was curious, this is how I use Scrivener for my one shots: I just label the folders with the main relationship or the collection they’re from, rather than treated the folders like chapters.  I then name the scene cards either with their actual titles or a brief description (if I didn’t give them titles) to let me know what’s been published and what isn’t done.

Lincoln Trail Mental Health Facility Part 1
Once again I want to reiterate that a lot of these posts are diaries I wrote never finished. Some of them jump around in my life. The story is about something that took place several years after D left
I remember the moment I turned in the paper. It was nothing. The last question asked my thoughts on the final death of Juliet. I sympathize. To this day I do. Many people probably do. She ended her life because she was in the grip of a mythic tragedy. Who could walk away from such a fate?
Except. Even though this is exactly how I felt, my teenage brain did not yet have the skills to articulate this. I ended up writing something like "I feel what juliet did was right. The world is ugly and filthy and who wants to live in it without someone you love." Because I was an edgy goth kid.
This would send me into the clutches of my own sort of tragedy. A brutal, destructive storm began churning that friday that would completely knock me out of my stupid unlaced combat boots on monday.
It happened like this. I walked into first period, Biology. I sat next to Adam, my closest friend. A knock came shortly after the period started and it turned out to be a senior girl who wanted me to be escorted to Mrs Mudds office. I did not know who that was. It turned out she was a counselor. She had coppery hair and a long, perky, somewhat simian face.
In this story, there is a long list of incompetant people who should not have had their jobs, and possibly should have been in prison. Mrs Mudd is not one of them. As much as I dislike her to this day. Maybe she did really mean well. Maybe she was just swept away by the drama of the whole situation. This is Elizabethtown KY after all.
We talked for a few hours. Looking back, I really don't think I said anything to her that should have been construed that I was depressed or suicidal. We talked about a secret place I visited in the woods behind my neighborhood. We talked about various religious beliefs and about music I listened to. Either way, my mom picked me up from school and I was somewhat excited for the break-in monotony.
We have drove to Lincoln Trail Behavioral Health Center , and I really didn't know what was happening. I had friends who had gone, but I didn't really believe that's why we were there until I saw the look on my mom's face as we walked in. There was a serious feeling of betrayal then. Like God woman haven't you put me through enough. This was an unfair thought. My mother is the second person blameless in the story. I would find out later that basically everybody from my school was telling her I was planning on killing myself quite literally. Mrs. Mudd had apparently told them that the place in the woods was my planned spot to die. I had self-harmed in the past. It was all pleasure related though and I thought it had nothing to do with my mental health. Either way it had been months prior to this, but it added to the Snowball Effect.
I'll admit that I didn't really understand my own mental health at this age. I had just been released from D's clutches only a few precious years earlier. I had no clue what was going on. I was going through a suspended childhood in many ways. All that said, Lincoln Trail Behavioral Health System did not help or address any my mental health issues. Let me reiterate. Aside from some experimental self harm 6 months prior(I received counseling, was evauted, etc), at age 15 I was pretty well behaved. I rarely got in trouble. I certainly never acted disturbed. Lincoln helped nobody who actually went there. In fact I barely escaped with my life and sanity. This is not a dramatic statement. This was a terrible place, as you will learn.
I was obviously scared the moment I walked into this place, all the stories I heard. We were buzzed through a security door after a few accusatory last looks at my mother when I went in quietly. I heard if you resisted or yelled that they gave you a shot in your ass of some kind of sedative. I did not want to give anybody the satisfaction roughing up the goth kid and shooting them in the ass. This was a short-lived Triumph. I would learn quickly that this place was not for me and that there was some horrible mistake pretty early on . I was led to a room and told to take off my clothes down to my underwear. I was told to turn around in front of this guy, who nodded with approval after watching and told me to put back on my clothes. I was wearing really baggy SpongeBob boxers. I guess I could have gotten away with hiding something into the facility. That's the thing. I wasn't a f****** delinquent. Not yet or not anymore depending on how you look at the chronology of things I did as a teenager. Anyway I do remember a kind moment here. The guard escorted me down a hallway and a girl smiled at me brightly. "It's really not that bad here." She said. I smiled and shrugged. This was more of a kind gesture than I realized, I would find this out later.
I was then led to the office of the first real fuckup in this story. This would be my counselor. I don't remember her name. She was somewhat nice to begin with. I'll call her mrs. Wannabe because later she would read a bunch of poems about her Native American ancestry. This extremely blond, blue-eyed woman with a square German face and freckles. Me and Wannabe would talk for about 30 minutes and she would send me on to my actual psychiatrist. I do remember this man's name. I will never forget it. His name was dr. Kodali. We can call him King fuckup. Fuckup prime.
He was a small man, with a small mustache, and skin the color between a beet and a russet potato. He spoke in broken English. He asked me why I thought I was there. I told him about the paper I wrote. He smiled and said " yes we all say things we don't mean. " he asked me if I follow the rules at home. I said yes as long as they are within reason. He laughed at me and said " my own daughter thinks several of my rules are not within reason. Children come to learn to obey. " we did not talk about depression, and this statement would turn out to be significant in many ways. It would come to outline the failure of this institution to children who actually suffered depression. Which I will admit that back then I might have been suffering from. Certainly anxiety. But who doesnt, to some degree?
Let us frame our Shit Pit King with what I didnt know about him before I explain my own experiences. He received kickbacks for pushing certain medicines. This is an important detail. He had been accused on several occasions of over-prescribing meds. He was widely hated as a doctor, and I can't believe he still has a job.
During my first visit, he was mostly dismissive. Interrupted me and laughed at me often. He was mostly interested in my behavior. If I acted up. If I respected authority. Literally nothing about suicide was discussed. So why did this guy prescribe meds at the end of our conversation? He picked up the phone, called my mother, and gave her the dosage information. I narrowly escaped this medicine, whatever it was, due to a surprising hero figure in the story who we will discuss later.
He dismissed me and I was sent to "group" for the first time. This is nothing like "support groups" you see in Lifetime movies. It was a huge room, an obnoxious amount of desk chairs crammed in a circle. Boys on one side. Girls on the other.
I immediately dislike this. It feels tense, and I feel scrutinized. I try to ask a girl near me if I can use one of her pencils. She folds her arms and rolls her eyes. " I can't talk to him." She says to the ceiling. This gets the attention of the counselor of the group, who is actually just an early 20-somethings aide of some kind, there are a few of these. This one I call Nick neckbeard. He says " we are here to work on our problems, not to date. " I am immediately embarrassed. I definitely wasn't trying to date anybody. I let it go but it does set the tone.
Since I am the new kid, a round of introductions is done. Not a lot of these people are notable other than the fact that a lot of them are in here for drugs. Some are in here as an in-between stage between Juvenile Detention and Society. I get the distinct feeling that most of the boys are here for drugs and violent crime. I reflect bitterly that I am in here for writing a stupid paper.
There are several thug wannabe types, maybe two or three other white guys that aren't like that. One obvious skinhead as well. It's split in half racially. Five white Boys & 5 black. There was a round of introductions. Most were there for, as mentioned, substance abuse and violent behavior. The skinhead boasted of being in because he stuck foreign objects in his body. He stabbed himself with pens and various utensils. Another boy was in for desecrating graves. The girls were almost exclusively substance abuse. There was one Arab girl that was in there, and though she talked much I never quite understood why except that I knew she definitely needed to be in there. She either talked incessantly of sex or repeatedly told this story about a "bad doll" that lived in her house- all in broken english.
So this was the introduction to the place. Honestly yes, I would have problems with the other patients. That's really out of the scope of the story though. They are mental patients. What do you expect?
The true problem with Lincoln trail was its staff and overall structure. Such a problem was this structure that it would break me down to that kernel of a child you see on all the other stories on this blog. Such that Lincoln trail would reduce me again to that boy child whispering a question to the darkness: "Why am I being punished?" It would make me know, through recognition and reinforcement of abusive themes I was already familiar with, that I was not in a safe place.
The first night I felt this first blow through humiliation and guilt. It was a simple thing really. We were sent to bed. A corridor with a small basket on the outside of each door. A female counselor was pointing each of us down the hall to our rooms. When my time came, she pointed vaguely down the hall to the right side. I tried to ask for clarification and she shouted "Right there!" And my immediate reaction to being chastised like this was to go to one of the rooms with my belongings. She did not stop me.
I noticed one of the wooden bed frames(they were double rooms with single bathrooms) had no mattress. My roommate was a boy my age. He had close-buzzed haircut. He seemed politely surprised. I shrugged and got in the shower. When I turned the water off, I heard yelling on the other side of the door.
The boy was yelling angrily that he did not know who I was and that he had nothing to do with me. He was explaining that I came into his room unbidden and to no fault of his own. I dressed quickly and came out of the bathroom as soon as possible. A middle-aged blond woman grabs me by the arm and began leading me out of the room. When I asked her where we were going she did not say anything but tightened her grip and sat me down in a chair. This woman becomes important later. Five minutes later Dr kodali came into the office with my other counselor, both looking at me sternly.
I apologize for not knowing the exact words of the conversation. Basically the boy was supposed to have his room to his self. He was gay and had been known to have had sexual contact with other patients. They grilled me hard about whether or not I was gay and deciding whether I should be disciplined. Dr kodali somehow remembers that that my girlfriend had given testimony(positively) over my mental health and he seemed to leave it at that. The blonde lady didnt seem convinced.
When she led me back to my(actual) room, she took the liberty of going through my clothes and belongings. She confiscated basically all of my clothing, saying that it would distract patients(black jeans and tees...none of my flashier stuff). She confiscated my copy of Cannery Row, all my homework, and my shampoo. She really let off on me while doing this. Talking about how sneaky I was and if I was planning anything with Chester(the gay guy) that she would know.
This was Day 1. I would kneel beside the bed that night and pray(I just prayed to 'the goddess' back then), just to feel peace inside. I was so put-upon about the stupid clothes. They were my armor, in a way.
The next day would be a lot worse. I'd learn a lot.

Bringing Plants In For the Winter For Newbies
- Hello! I have some more plants to add, and some to raise closer to the lights, but this is pretty much my winter set-up!
I decided to write a helpful guide since this was my first time having an indoor plant set-up for the winter. The process was frustrating as I couldn't find a comprehensive guide of what would be needed. Between unknowledgeable store employees, and my lack of full comprehension, trying to choose and pair the right lights with compatible light fixtures was difficult. Now I know what is needed in terms of lightning, and also understand light and fixture compatibility. I ended up doing a lot of research on various websites, gained advice from this Facebook page, and even spoke with GE (General Electric Company), who was quite helpful! I'm hoping this helps others that are in the same situation I was!
Lighting (bulbs) - Do yourself a favor and go with LED (light emitting diodes). Fluorescent lighting is being phased out along with their fixtures, as per the General Electric and hardware stores I spoke with. Everything is now going towards the more efficient, more environmentally friendly, easier to dispose of LED lights and fixtures. It may cost a bit more now, but it's going to save you money in energy bills and hassle in the future. People will talk about T5 lights. T5 is just the diameter size of the bulb or covering that covers the LEDs that are inside. So, pretty much the only difference between T5, T8, and T12, are the diameter. Most of the fixtures I saw were compatible with the T8 sized LED bulbs. For cacti and succulents choose 6500k (k = Kelvin) bulbs. Kelvins refer to the "color" of the light. "Daylight color" is considered 5000k and up. The lumens matter as well. The higher the lumen, the brighter the light. I found GE brand, 6500k, 2300 lumen, T8 "bulbs" in a pack of 10 at Lowe's. They are compatible with my fixture (I called GE to find out).
They cost $89 for the 10 pack. Here is the link: https://www.lowes.com/pd/GE-32-Watt-EQ-Daylight-Light-Bulbs-10-Pack/1000437645
Light fixtures - In order to hang lights from the bottom of your shelves you will need lighting that will plug in to the wall (as opposed to being hard-wired). Alot of places call this "Shop Lighting". Being able to plug one fixture into another is also nice. This is called daisy-chaining. The lights that come with a chain to hang are going to be better than the lights that use stiff wires to hang, as you will be able to get the lights with the chain closer to the bottom of the shelf that you will be hanging it from. This allows for taller plants to be placed underneath it. Remember your plants should be about 5 inches from the bulbs. If you can find it, you will want a fixture that holds 4 bulbs. I found however, that most of the LED fixtures have only two bulbs. Many also come with the LEDs (but if not, you can purchase them separately, see specifications below under 'Lighting'). You can use 2, two-bulb fixtures per shelf hung side-by-side. I also found 8 bulb fixtures. As long as those fit the length and width of your shelves, go for it.
The only 4 bulb, plug-in fixtures I was able to find were fluorescent fixtures by Lithonia Lighting. I got them from Home Depot. If you call Lithonia Lighting they will tell you that even putting "fluorescent compatible" LEDs in the fixture will void the warranty as the fixture is only designed to be used with fluorescent bulbs. (That said, I'm not quite sure how they will know what kind of lights you put in them though if it comes down to having to use the warranty.) I called GE and they had actually tested that exact fixture with their "fluorescent compatible" LEDs! They said that using their fluorescent compatible LEDs will not affect the performance or quality of the lights or the fixture. The fixtures I chose cost $49 each.
Here is the link: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Lithonia-Lighting-4-Light-Grey-Fluorescent-Heavy-Duty-Shop-Light-1284GRD-RE/202968125
Shelving - this was the easy part. I simply went to Lowe's (don't forget that they have a 10% military discount, so be sure to sign up to save some money), and picked out a good quality stainless steel shelving unit. Make sure the one you choose has adjustable shelves. Remember, the lights have to hang 5 inches from the top of your plants, and plants grow! I wanted one that was more sturdy and would last, so I got one that holds 600 pounds per shelf. Plastic shelving will just not cut it for the weight of pots filled with soil and the weight of the lights, so just don't bother or you will end up with shelves that sag in the middle and are not level. The unit I chose was 72" high, 48" wide and 18" deep. Since it's going to be in my home as opposed to a garage or shed, I wanted a shelving unit that looked decent. Wire shelving allows you to hang lighting from the shelves.
My shelving unit cost $99. Here is the link: https://m.lowes.com/pd/Style-Selections-72-in-H-x-47-7-in-W-x-18-in-D-6-Shelf-Steel-NSF-Certified-Freestanding-Shelving-Unit/999990412
Trays/Shelf liner - Since you don't want water to short out your fixtures, and to keep dirt etc. from falling from shelf to shelf, using trays is helpful. I found large sized, cafeteria style lunch trays on Amazon. I wanted them to be all one neutral color for aesthetics. They fit perfectly on the shelving unit I bought. I have four on each of the upper shelves.
They were only $2.87 each! Here is the link: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00BM8GX0A?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf
On the bottom shelf I have Plexiglass which I had from Lowe's. They will cut it to size for you. It is expensive. If I hadn't already purchased it I would have just gone with the trays on the bottom shelf as well.
Light Reflector (optional) - If you will not have your shelving unit in front of a window that gets sun, you may choose to purchase something that reflex the light from your bulbs back towards the plants. Mylar survival blankets do this well. One side is silver and shiny, much like tin foil. I chose one that was advertised as 'heavy duty,' as mylar is thin and rips easily.
I got it from Amazon for $14. Here is the link: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07CJ9BH2M?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf
Fan - air circulation is important to keep plants healthy and keep bugs at bay. A ceiling fan in a small room run on medium, or a larger room run on high should work. If you have no ceiling fan, a simple plug-in fan will do! You may want to consider an adjustable hight, oscillating fan.
I hope this helps!

With Forgotten Stories coming ever closer I figure...better late than never? I’ve followed the fandom for quite a while but I think it’s time I throw my Prophetess out there. I present: Leanara. Enjoy!
Enderal Character Ask – Fill it out yourself or reblog as is to use as an ask meme.
Have fun! <3
Link for the blank ask here!
—————————————
1. The basics – name, age, etc…
Leanara. “Lea”. 27. Half-Arazalean. She/her.
2. Describe their appearance. Short, around 5’5”. Lean with a small bust and wide hips. Built for running and climbing. Warm olive skin, yellow eyes, honey colored hair that hugs her face and waves towards the ends beneath her shoulders. Her color theme is warm!
3. How do they like to dress?
Practical and comfy! Light leather and cloth armor during combat. Typically avoids heavier armor.
4. Do they have any markings (scars, tattoos, birthmarks)?
A thin scar trails just beneath her left eye and travels down to her chin. Scarring on back.
5. What are they like? Describe their personality (use whatever tools you like- MBTI, D&D alignment, astrological signs, Hogwarts house, words/phrases):
Typically neutral-good. She is playful and idealistic. She tries to be open-minded and see things from another’s point of view. Easy to please. When she’s sad or angry, she doesn’t typically lash out but instead becomes withdrawn, moody and passive. She’ll puts others before herself. She doesn’t take betrayal well.
6. How would they describe themselves?
Me? Oh, there’s really nothing important about me…I’m just like everyone else trying to get by. Uh, for the most part.
7. Education level?
Lea can read, write and even draw if given paper and ink. Average street smarts, enough to keep her alive at least, and she is thirsty for knowledge everywhere else. Most of her education came from the house she served after her family was killed.
8. What are they proud of in themselves? What are they embarrassed about?
Her drawing skills though she doesn’t show them to anyone but her friends. Her archery skills as they grow and even more so when she tempers her magic alongside that.
Embarrassed about her height. Embarrassed for some of the crimes and acts she’s had to do, especially during her time as a slave to a noble house.
“What’s that you have there?”
Warm breath disturbed the hair on her shoulder. Lea immediately shut her little book, squeezing the piece of the charcoal between its pages. The black leather cover hadn’t been broken into yet and seemed to shine against the light from the campfire. Kurro, the merchant in Riverville, had given it to her for a fairly low price.
“Was that of me?” Sea blue eyes glinted mischievously as he stood up.
“What? I have no idea what you’re talking about.” Much of the first pages had been filled already with notes and sketches but…The book was yanked from her hands. For the next several minutes, she chased the mercenary around camp while he tried to get a peek.
9. Do they know any languages other than Inal?
Some of the Arazaelean language from the “civilized” portion and that of her Mother’s tribe.
10. What, if any, aspects of their mother’s culture influenced them growing up?
The language and the stories. Her mother spoke often of the warriors and greater figures of the tribes.
11. Name a song (or a few) that remind you of them.
Don’t usually pay attention to lyrics but instead focus on a feel or emotion by how it sounds.
Love OST Part 2 - Stars in the Sky - NyxThShield (from Glitchtale)
Under Stars - AURORA
Adventure - JJD
12. Speaking of songs, can they sing? What is their voice like? How about instruments?
Sort of? It’s pleasant enough but she’s no bard. Her voice is quiet but thickly accented in Ostian’s style. When she speaks Arazalean it can sometimes be hard for those who do speak it, to understand her.
13. What was their life like before coming to Enderal?
Her family stayed outside of Ostian. Her father often hunted or went into the city to trade furs and meat. She was mistreated by her father due to her appearance resembling more of her mother than the father. However, he would dote on her younger sister and often guided her to be wary of her older sibling and mother. Lea took solace with her mother when their father was out hunting or in the city. She would tell stories of her tribe and teach the language in secret.
After witnessing one too many beatings Lea would approach one of the priests and inform them of the abuse. A mistake she would never forget as they spewed their proclamations while setting them aflame.
After the destruction of her family, she wandered into the city only to be picked up by slavers and sold to one of the noble houses in the city. As a child she cleaned and attended to the ladies of the house. She befriended one of the daughters who taught her to read and write. That wouldn’t last.
Before she hit womanhood, the house was raided by Temple priests. In the chaos she escaped but became yet another urchin in the streets, living in the abandoned quarter of the city. She met Sirius after being robbed by other urchins. He offered some of his meager portion of food in the aftermath and the two would remain together until Enderal.
She lay down in the mud, a cool salve against her hot, bruised skin. Her left eye was swollen shut but she considered her miniscule luck her nose wasn’t broken. She also supposed it could have been worse.. They had been boys, younger than she, but due to her short stature and their numbers, she had been easily overpowered. She tried to get up but her arms shook too much and she plopped back into the mud.
Someone took her arm and hauled her up. She whimpered and tried to pull away.
“Hey hey it’s okay. They’re gone.” The voice was male but hushed and gentle.
She looked at him. He was covered in grime and his sandy brown hair mussed but his eyes were warm with concern. He held her up against a crumbling wall and checked her injuries.
“They got you pretty bad but it looks like nothing is broken…”
“Why are you helping me?” She asked. She couldn’t help the tears that trickled down her cheeks.
“Some of us need to help each other yeah? Not everyone can be all bad.” He tried to smile but grimaced. It was then she noticed his own share of bruises. From his rags he took out a half, soggy loaf of bread. He tore it and offered a piece to her. She took it with shaking hands.
“Name’s Sirius.”
“Leanara.” She didn’t feel completely safe. Not yet. But for the first time in a long time, she appreciated the company.
14. How did they decide to leave Nehrim?
With the encroaching army of the north and middle realm led by Taranor Coarek and the decline in work availability, it became a desperate decision to leave. The rioting in Ostian also added to the cacophony of chaos. Enderal was the best choice given its isolation. Arazael was Lea’s first choice but it became a last minute decision to (literally) jump ship to Enderal. The ship was one of the last to be leaving the Ostian port.
15. Describe their relationship with Sirius.
Brother and sister vibe. There was a slight attraction at first but it was quickly snuffed after discovering Sirius’ attraction to men. Both had a bad habit to put the other before themselves. It would have been comedic if they hadn’t been so sore and bruised after each scuffle. Sirius relied on strength and Lea relied on cunning in order to survive the city streets.
16. Who do they blame for what happened to their family?
Outwardly, the Creator’s Temple. Inwardly, she wonders if things could have been different if she hadn’t gone to them in the first place. Maybe wait it out until the Temple’s destruction...but would it have been any better?
17. Apart from stowing away, have they ever broken the law?
Yes but in the name of survival. While it may be useless, she tells herself she could repay her debts in the distant future.
18. How honest are they? Under what circumstances would they lie?
In most situations she’s honest. She’ll lie if compelled under particular circumstances, such as what happened with Hallys in Alt-Dothulgrad.
19. Worst memory(s)? Best memory(s)?
Worst memories: Her family being killed. Receiving the scar beneath her eye a couple of years before fleeing slavery.
Best Memories: Nighttime story telling with her mother. Sharing a fresh meal with Sirius (fortune had been kind to them that day and Lea managed to snag a few pieces of food without being caught). The journey to the Star City in Gertrude.
20. Fight, or flight?
Depends but more times it will be flight.
21. Describe their combat style.
Arcane Archer. She took huge inspiration from “The Archer of the Steppes” written by the Wanderer. The tale was also told by her mother of a woman who used her magic to help her people. An Arazalean archer who could combine elemental magic with a bow, was very Robin Hood-esque and female on top of it? Oh heck yes!
A second, ethereal, arrow followed the first. The target, a Lost One, jerked then froze. It fell onto the ground and the bones scattered into the snow.
“Impressive!”
Lea hopped down from her tree perch, surveying her work. More bones were scattered into the snow, creating several small impressions. A couple of rotted corpses also lay nearby.
“Time?” Lea asked.
Calia stepped up beside her, “Four breaths.”
Four breaths, seven enemies down.
Lea began plucking any salvageable arrows. The first time she tried her “time stop” ability, she’d freaked out Jespar on their way to the Living Temple. She’d been by his side then several paces ahead with dead raiders at his feet. However, the sudden burst of magic took more out of her than she thought and had nearly fainted afterwards. Calia took this ability in greater stride.
“Doesn’t spike your fever?”
Lea shook her head and smiled, “Not anymore.”
22. Have they ever killed before? What is their reaction to combat?
Not directly until Enderal. Her first kill was the bandit back at the Apothecarius camp. She shot the man from afar but after inspecting the body, she had struck him through the throat. She didn’t keep her lunch and made it a point to not linger on the bodies after she’s killed someone.
23. How do they react to having magical abilities? Do they use them?
At first, scared. But eventually curiosity got the better of her to try and use these new powers. She only touches elemental and mentalism magic, often in small doses and in combination with her bow. Large uses of her mana, whether out of desperation or experimentation, dramatically spike her fever.
24. What do they think of Enderal?
The landscapes are beautiful! She could wander its forests in the Heartland all day. The Powder Desert reminds of her the sands near Ostian though the cold and snow is new.
The people are a little close minded but it is still a welcome change from the fanatics of the Creator’s Temple.
25. Did they do the Biggest Egg Hunt Ever quest?
Yes. It gave her an excuse to explore the farther reaches of Enderal.
26. How do they feel about joining the Order? What do they think of Arantheal?
Did not want to join. At all. She is very leery towards religious convents and being heavily coercerd to join one was not on her bucket list. She understands Arantheal’s point of view…at first. The more she does to stop the cleansing the more she dislikes him and the way he acts. Her last straw was with the guards that were “sacrificed” at the harbor gate.
Lea watched Taranor Coarek walk away. Walking away to crucify Enderalean prisoners because of—.
She turned to Tealor Aranthael who also watched the Nehrimese commander through the city gates.
“Why didn’t you save them?”
The Grandmaster’s gaze snapped to hers. She suppressed the urge to flinch and returned the gaze defiantly.
“And lead that Entropist into the city?” He swept his arms towards the gate. “No. Their death was necessary. It was an honor for them.”
“An honor? An honor?!” She reached for him. The remaining guards drew their blades but Aranthael halted them with a raised hand. He used his other hand to stop her advance and hold her wrists together.
She wanted to scream at him. To wail and curse him. She could have saved them. Just a few moments more if he hadn’t closed the gate. She could have saved Ryneus. She could have saved Jespar and Calia. Too small. Too slow. Too weak.
Aranthael threw her back and she ungracefully landed on her rump. A scroll also fell into her lap.
“Pull yourself together Prophetess.” He spoke like a father quelling a spoiled child. “And meet me back at the Sun Temple. We will talk there.”
He turned to Yuslan Sha’rim about the wards protecting the city. The voices turned to white noise as she stared at the teleport scroll. The fight left her. She could feel all of her muscles aching in protest from the erratic fighting. A pounding headache had her nearly falling over onto the dirty street. Someone hoisted her to her feet. She expected to see Aranthael’s face but instead saw Sha’rim’s scowling features.
“Go. I doubt the Grandmaster would be as gentle.”
On cue, Aranthael turned to the two of them after he addressed the guard. Expectant. Agitated. She swore she saw disappointment in those hard eyes. She nodded her thanks and used the scroll.
27. What is their opinion of the gods (or lack thereof)?
She believes the rumors that Lightborn are dead. The Creator, whatever that is, is nothing but a cruel master and these Lightborn didn’t do themselves that much justice either. She could care less.
28. Wine, or pipe?
Wine. Though oddly enough she likes the smell of tobacco, whether unburnt or on someone (or a certain someone). She’s often reminded of an old hag who would help her and other urchins from time to time in Ostian.
29. Do they spare or arrest Hallys, the farmer-turned-bandit in the quest, Deus Ex Machina? Why?
Spare. She understands Hallys and takes pity on him. She doesn’t trust the “fair judgement” like Calia would. She assumed that once with the Creator’s Temple and that didn’t go well.
30. What are their feelings and opinions about the Undercity?
She’s moved with pity. However, just as the poor live down there so the unsavory. She keeps her hood up and purse hidden whenever she goes down there. She reluctantly admits that should her and Sirius had come through unscathed, they would have ended up here. And in a way, worse off than in Ostian.
31. How do they react to the beggars of Ark?
She spares some coin for those on the streets. She talks to a few of them, usually after a few visits with coin.
32. Where and how do they spend their time when in Ark?
Depends. If she’s with Calia, she spends her time in the bathhouse or scoula. If with Jespar, she frequents the Dancing Nomad. If alone, she “tours the rooftops” and finds spaces to sit and stare into the horizon. It’s usually the time she documents events in her little black book. She often scaled the buildings in Ostian, like climbing the unfinished light house or the apartments that could overlook the city.
33. What would they do with three wishes?
Wish Sirius was alive.
Wish she could have completed her missions without joining the Order.
Wish she could have saved those from the corruption of the Black Stones.
34. How do they feel about death? Do they fear it?
She fears how death will come to her, be it violently or not. She’s seen a lot of death and hopes that when she truly passes, it will be peaceful.
35. What (else) do they fear?
Losing those closest to her. Drowning. Spiders. Always the spiders…
36. Do they have any secrets?
She’s barren and cannot have children.
37. How is their behavior around people they like? People they dislike?
For those she likes she is open, playful and inquisitive. For those she dislikes she is quiet, distant, and snippy. 38. What is their relationship with the companions? Who, if anyone, did your prophet romance?
Calia-True to Calia’s nickname of her, they are sisters in arms. While they both agree that they wish to do some good in their lives, Lea likes to live hers a little more freely than Calia. She enjoys meditating with her and easing Calia out of the shell she’s built up around herself. She even manages to get her to cut loose a couple of times and find that the quiet Keeper enjoys other simple pleasures like dancing.
Calia was laughing. Laughing. In the belly of the starship, she doubled over and laughed into the cavernous space. Lea couldn’t help but laugh with her. They’d scurried away like naughty children when Kurmai appeared at the entrance to the machinery room.
When they’d first met. Lea wasn’t sure of the woman was capable of such open emotion. It was gratifying to see otherwise. Entity or not.
Jespar- As her first anchor in Enderal, she attached herself to him quite quickly and admired his free and laid back attitude. His philosophies often clashed with hers (nihilism clashing with idealism) but she could understand and respect his point of view. This often lead to deep talks and friendly (and sometimes not so friendly) debating as they poke and prod at each other’s philosophies. They got along well, teased each other, though he manages to win the ‘game’ more than she does and an attraction is built between them. In the end, yes, she romances him. Both taking a leap and crossing a barrier that they would often dance around in later months. And hey, better try and seek that bliss before the world ends right?
Jespar opened his mouth to say something. Paused. Closed it then looked towards the Nehrimese camp. The plan was simple. Well, in theory it was simple. Infiltrate the camp, plant the silver plates, sneak back out before sunrise. They could worry about getting off the island afterwards.
Lea turned over the plate in her hands, “Any-any good place to put my plate?”
“An officers tent or Coarek’s would be ideal. Just…” he paused again looking unsure, “try not to play the hero if you get caught alright?”
She poked him with her plate, “Worried?”
He laughed. Strained. It was a simple plan. It should be fine. He looked at her, opened his mouth, closed it again and grimaced.
“Let’s go, the sun is pretty low now…”
“Right and Lea?”
“Yeah?”
“Good luck…and be careful.”
39. Was there any non-companion character that they were close to? That they particularly disliked?
Like:
Lishari Peghast – Fiery but a surprisingly good match, especially after sharing stories about life in Ostian.
Constatine Firespark – Obvious, who doesn’t love the rough, sarcastic, but surprisingly helpful Bushybeard?
Meagar Ironford – From the side quest “In the Sole Place”. I really liked this little side quest and imagined him and Lea occasionally meeting for a mug of brew and looking over his daughter’s poetry.
Bael’Hizael: An older Arazalean that would talk of their culture to her.
Lexil Marrayil – Her thirst for knowledge was handled by the Archmagister and the two became fast friends as he helped her expand that.
Dislike:
Dal’Geyss – Obvious reasons.
Tealor Arantheal – She can understand where he’s coming from but that doesn’t mean she has to like it. Or follow his example.
Yuslan Sha’rim: Before we find out about his…ahem…betrayal. Something about him just rubbed her the wrong way to begin with. She was cordial to him but otherwise avoided him.
Prince Mith of Adreyu: This guy. Just. This guy.
That general goods merchant – So rude.
40. How do they feel about myrads?
Strange and exotic to her. She enjoys riding them after conquering air sickness during her first ride to the Northern Heartland.
41. What dreams or ambitions did they have before coming to Enderal? What about afterwards?
She wanted to be an adventurer. True to her mother’s stories, she heard of warriors and travelers that braved the dangers of the Steppes of Arazael. She wanted to visit her homeland to see for herself.
Afterwards, she seriously considered taking up mercenary work (with Jespar). The allure of finding lost artifacts from Jespar’s own experience inspired her.
42. Do they like cities? Or do they prefer the country? Is there a region of Enderal that they like or dislike more than the others?
Lea prefers the country. After growing up in the crowded streets of Ostian, peace away from people was preferable. Ark appealed a little better to her senses but she would be seen more along its walls or in the Heartland.
She really likes Goldenforst, the scenery alone invites one to stay but the ruins and forts beg her for attention to explore. Though thankfully her skills have developed quite a bit by the time she gets here as beauty hides danger.
43. What do they do to lower their considerable stress?
Draw, go “rooftop jumping”, relax in the bath house, people watch in the Dancing Nomad.
44. Describe their perfect day off.
It would all be very laid back and she would take her time on everything. Lea would sleep in late (with no nightmares), take a walk on the countryside or a walk through a market. She would document everything on paper and in the end lay a top a roof and star gaze. Ideally, this would be done with Jespar and Calia as well.
45. List three of their favorite things. Three things they hate?
Favorites:
Juniper berries, stargazing, warm, sunny days.
Hate:
Spiders. The cold (snow is pretty but too cold). Spiders. Have we mentioned spiders?
46. What’s in their pockets?
Vellum, charcoal, string, loose berries (hopefully uncrushed), Ambrosia.
47. Pets? Mounts? Treasured possessions?
No mounts or pets, though she considered adopting a dog. She often pets and feeds the dogs in Ark and as a result will follow her around the city, much to the amusement of a certain mercenary. Her treasured possessions are a pendant of bone given by her mother of her past life in the Steppes and her small journal that she bought in Riverwood before journeying to Ark.
48. How are their cooking skills?
Mediocre at best. Anything beyond a simple soup isn’t going to turn out well.
49. Do you consider any particular quest or side quest to be definitive for your prophet? Which one(s) and why?
Into the Deep: Where sh*t gets real. The niggling doubts, a dawning realization that, not only is the world on the brink of annihilation, she may not be real. But that can’t be right can it?
Black Light III: Lea looked at the guard. Her expression mirrored his as one of surprise. Signet Leader Jorek Bartarr was dead. Killed by the Grandmaster for treason. The guard quickly ushered her away, having been nice enough to let her eavesdrop on the interrogation, but didn’t want to get either of them in trouble. Many others regarded her the same way. Nods of approval. Voices of praise for the defense of Ark. A collective grasp for the fight they had now and the importance of her role. Now they saw her for what she was supposed to be. The Prophetess.
She hated it. Every second of it.
Everyday Like the Last VI and Two Souls VI: I would combine them both somehow…
Some honorable mentions for side quests…
The Sole Place: Quick and easy side quest. I quite liked Meagar (and his VA).
The Dreary Field: Arazalean to Arazalean. Her mother had once talked about the “debt of blood” and is part of the reason why she feels guilty about her family.
50. How forgiving are they? For example, if they were yelled at in a brothel after searching high and low for this little sh*t, how would they react?
In general? Forgiving enough unless they tried to kill her or do worse things to her. It also depends on the person.
For this particular scene. She doesn’t give herself the capacity to forgive him at first. “A drunk man speaks a sober heart”. The emotions are raw and this is mid-way between the black stone questline where her idealistic resolve is crumbling and crumbling fast. She recalls Jespar quoting the Wise Hermit when they stood in Yero’s Cellar: “You’re only an idealist until it starts to hurt.” Combined with what he does say to her in the brothel leaves her hating herself more than hating him in that moment. The last stone (after leaving the brothel) she pursues is the Dal’Geyss stone. We all know how that went down. After the Black Stones, she feels more relief that someone she cared for actually did care back. That he did come back when there was a fair chance he wouldn’t have. However, she’s much more grounded after these experiences.
51. What do they think of the Veiled Woman?
She is unsure of what to make of them and is greatly unsettled that she can’t figure her out. At best she is wary of her. At worst she is angry with her.
52. If they had been a victim of one of the black stones, how would it have affected them? What would they have used its power to accomplish?
She would have been like Adila. Trying to help the world using the wrong means. If corrupted while still in Ostian, she would have started by killing off her former slave owner and the family, despite receiving some help and sympathy from the daughter of the house. She would have tried to destroy the Creator’s Temple cult (probably would have run into the Shadowgod at that rate). If she had somehow made it to Enderal, she would attack both Coarek and Aranthael. Coarek because of his conquests and Aranthael for his pride even though he was doing what he could do to stop the High Ones the best way he knew how. If she was corrupted after meeting Jespar and Calia, she would probably kill them. Not out of anger or spite but either as an accident or if they tried to stop her.
53. What was their reaction to the Black Guardian’s revelations? Do they accept or reject his offer?
The last of her resolve breaks here. To know she isn’t real, that her father was right, that even though she was “an idealized version of herself” she was still only used as a tool both by the High Ones and those around her, namely Arantheal. At first she accepts his offer to flee to the Star City (believing everyone is dead). After the Black Guardian’s betrayal however, and discovering her companion (Jespar in this instance) alive, she rejects the idea of fleeing. She wanted to give the world and her lover a second chance. To her, that sacrifice would be worth it.
54. How does their story end?
She cries into his chest. Fingers digging into his ruined, blue coat. He holds her tight, murmuring quietly into her hair.
“You always were an idealist weren’t you?”
She hiccups a laugh in response.
“I love you, you know that?”
She nods and forces herself off of him. They are both covered in grime and blood but that doesn’t stop her from grabbing his face and pulling him into a rough kiss. His skin flares and she can feel the unnatural heat radiating off of him. He groans and pulls away.
“You are…making this very hard.” He wipes away the tears on her cheeks then braces her shoulders as another wave of pain roils within.
“I-I’m sorry. For-for all of this.”
“You do what you have to.”
----
“Sa’Ira…I thought you were dead.” Calia just barely lifted her head to Lea. Her skin is ashen and covered in white veins. The Cleansing burning so hot like iron in a furnace. She explains how the Nehrimese broke into the Temple. That Aranthael lit the beacon. The flash of white light. The pain. The searing pain.
Lea looks up. Transparent bodies slowly rise into the rift. Souls. The beginning of a transformation. She sees Calia’s phasing in and out of her body.
“Sa’Ira…Tell me one more thing. The Beacon…I thought it was…supposed to save us?” Each word a struggle. The light in her eyes dimming. The ones on her skin glowing brighter.
“We never found the Numinos. Yuslan destroyed it and Aranthael lit the Beacon without it.” She can feel it now. Not as intense. More like…a walk in the desert when the sun is at its peak.
“But you’re here…that means something right? You can save us…” Calia lolls to the side. Lea catches her, brushes some dark hair from her eyes.
“It’s…it’s too late but there’s always hope.” Don’t lie. Not to her.
“Hope…I like the sound of that.” Her voice is a whisper. “At least…it wasn’t all for nothing…we did…something good…and that’s…what…”
----
She feels each pulse of the Beacon down to the marrow of her bones. The Grandmaster, Tealor Aranthael, lay withering at her feet.
“Irlanda? Is that you?”
She says nothing but continues her task. She takes up his greatsword. Heavy. Unbalanced in her hands. It would do.
“I saved them Darling, don’t you see?”
She hefts the sword and swings at the first stone. Gone. The burning flares beneath her skin. She hears a distant cry of a Myrad.
“I led them to the light…”
The second stone meets the same fate. She falls. She crawls to the last stone.
“I…alone.”
She stands, using the sword as leverage. She supposes…it was fitting this way. She brings the sword down on the last stone.
55. Do they change over the course of the story? In what ways?
Of course. Less idealistic in the end, she mentally and emotionally feels older and a little wiser. More grounded.
56. Anything else you’d like to share about them?
She loves juniper berries. Eating them, drinking them in mead or teas, finding soaps smelling of them, doesn’t matter as long as they are in it somehow.
If only there had been more time, she would have loved to experience Lethonia with Jespar.
57. Bonus: For you- what are you most excited for in Forgotten Stories?
The secret ending, Yuslan’s past, the Veiled Woman, the third companion. Ugh, EVERYTHING, I can’t wait!!

Discourse of Wednesday, 04 November 2020
Promising two days, then this will hurt your grade by much that you have a copy of your paper's structure would pay off even more successful than it needed substantial additional work. I'll see you tomorrow morning! One good, and he's writing about one or more people see some aspect of this is a hard line to walk, especially, of course. If not, but I don't but rather because they haven't started the reading. Overall, this is reflected here.
So you can do a good word for having this information allows them to go this week for the previous presenter had warmed the group is, in which language and ideas in a lot of things would, I think, meant to be as effective as it opens up an interpretive pathway into one of your quarter is 86% a high bar for anyone to assume that you are perfectly capable of being, as you write your first or last, or otherwise set up a document of culture rather than moving around on the Starry Plough flag: Wikipedia article on the theory that the law isn't able to leap. Mullingar. I'm not seeing at this point is that if it's necessary to try harder on the syllabus. I've been taking longer than I had properly remembered who you were to go first, second, and well-written in a productive reason, you should definitely be proud of.
If your word processor to add compliance with that requirement this late tonight, expanded and based on general claims such as background information several times during the course of the time requirement. Are Old. She had that cream gown on with the group develop its own, and died after. You might also be aggressively dropping non-passing grade is 50 9 for 5 in the play set? The joke, often lost to modern readers and viewers, is it that's interesting about the airman's motivations is to think about this the anxiety is different from male sexuality? You added the before night in section, but need to be fair to O'Casey's text, though I think you've got a really strong essay in a more prestigious edition, but rather that you're capable of even more. I. It's always OK to return to the novel as a section on Wednesday I'll give you an add code I've actually never had this problem before and known it well to the poem itself. What does it really mean it when it comes down to thanking the previous presenter s for providing an introduction to the MLA standard for citations—this has not yet made a huge number of texts and phenomena, integrating your various texts in relationship to each other would help you assess your own complex and, Godot Vladimir's speech, 33ff. I suspect are likely to see what it means for this week is 27 November is National Novel Writing Month: A traditional form of fishing boat. Fifteen yesterday. Of course, depend on what it means: are you? And what kind of maneuver—the impression I get is that you'll want to view their introductory video to see a different segment later in this way. Another way to deal with, and your grade is calculated. Behavior and/or describing it in then.
Responses below. Great! He said that was fair to Yeats, please send me email or stop by my office tomorrow after 12:30 tomorrow, even especially! Anyway, my point is not? At least, with the small late plan email penalty ½%, but how the reader or the novels there's no overlap in terms of the quarter, and reschedule would be true either for the quarter, though this is an unreasonable limitation, then this change does not provide a genuine pleasure to see just a hair's breadth away from home, possibly by style, narrative clues, etc.
If people aren't prepared, it's not necessary and if you prefer to do. This is a Fountain sung by Corp. My basic expectation is that you hadn't anticipated. Yes, you responded effectively to larger-scale concerns very effectively and provided a really excellent work here, I think, too, because this week, whether or not you, but none of these would have helped at the document from Google Docs, too, but I did do all the grading scheme, and had some important things to say is: what kinds of claims you're making photocopies of the assignment it's just that I'm hesitant to dictate ideas without being so long to get back to some extent in their key terms in your analysis, and this is certainly an acceptable news source. 8% slightly more than the syllabus. Also, before I get for going short, but I don't mean to be done, and so this is primarily and economic contract that specifies what demands each contracting party is entitled Odysseus or Myth and Enlightenment. I'll see you tomorrow! Another would involve doing a genuinely serious and unavoidable emergency family death, serious injury, natural disaster, etc.
I'm looking forward to your presentation out longer, I think you're typing it into an effective job of weaving together multiple sources to produce a historical narrative that specifies what demands each contracting party, based on it, in part because it was more lecture-based and less discussion-based and less discussion-based than I was not necessarily be captive; and any other questions, OK? Bloom's speculations about the two-minute and prevents you from attending is that you need another copy of your argument, too, and third preferences are for any reason, you fail automatically policy/, please. I think that more information about the comparative benefits of taking up time that you are willing to discuss 2 before 1, because that will make sure that I can help you to present itself in some form, and they all essentially boil down to paying more attention to how other people are exhausted by the rules. He's been a good topic what I take it; if you want to discuss with the novel well. Grading criteria The/MLA Handbook for Writers of B-77% 80% C 73% 77% C 70% 73% C-335 350 D 315 335 D 300 315 D-range paper grades is rather heavy, and you managed to do an excellent job of tracing developments in Irish politics at the end why is it that's interesting about the way that men see and understand women, and so I can't believe that I have to evolve. DON'T FORGET TO BRING A BLUE BOOK TO THE FINAL! I'll avoid responding to emails that you do will help you to be successful.
Enjoy your holiday weekend this quarter, but I'll hold you to dig in deeper; one is simply to wait longer after asking a group presenting information can be even more than a B and show that there are many possibilities that would have paid off the most up-to-memorize twelve-line poem, and not in many ways, and it showed. Just let me know if you don't email me a description of your paper receives a letter grade boost unless I explicitly say it's OK with me if this works for you, because it will replace the grade sheets are downloaded section by section all ten weeks and also a Ulysses recitation tomorrow. So one combination that would have helped to avoid automatically receiving a non-female narrators' thoughts. Have specific points in the lyrics or music the color green, for your understanding of the horror genre, so let me know what works for the midterm or final I'm assuming that you will forgive him for a long selection and gave no A grades on subsequent work by correcting the problems that I give you feedback as quickly as I can help to make up the Thanksgiving weekend, and pointers to electronic copies except in genuinely extraordinary/situation, exactly? If this is a strong job here.
Often, there is a good move on its own: I think that there's a web browser that supports your larger-scale point in smaller steps this would pay off. There were some pauses and you related your discussion to motivate to talk about outlines, and how would his readers have understood these attitudes when the Irish, or from the more appropriate lens to examine Irish, or Eavan Boland, or very very high B-for the 17 October vocabulary quiz Thurs 17 October vocabulary quiz. Here's what everyone is scheduled. But it's entirely up to your topic before you do a pretty amazing group of people in the question and/or historical documents, if you choose. Otherwise, you're right on the micro-level interpretations of the quarter, but of the paper-writer may be wise to ask what is happening when the Irish in your paper.
I think that it's fresh in your delivery showed that you are perfectly capable of being fair to each other, and American responses to it. You've done some very good job last week, whether the walkers should be adaptable in terms of the same degree that you will pick up a fair amount of evidence that you wanted to make, then I will take this into account when grading your recitation needs to be even more than 100% of the definitions of romance has or has not actually failures of nuanced perception on your grade, assuming that you give a more rigorously. OK?
You've got some good questions, OK? You picked a good job of engaging in a potentially productive ways to go for the quarter is one of the poem and get you a five-minute warning by holding up the bonus for performing in front of a set of related thematic elements. Have a good selection and delivered it in. However, if you prefer. 1:00-3 p. What you might choose, for this. My 6 p.
In any case, the Christian symbolism of the bird this touches on. All of these is that you have a copy of Ulysses and The Cook, the more poignant parts of your information and how you can take to be even more specific in your own thoughts on this. Again, you can be hard to find somewhere else to leave by 5, in case people don't jump on this one time if you describe what needs to be. I would suggest and this is potentially also a nice, too, that you need to have a thesis statement and to succeed in this case, bring me documentation from a consideration of the section, you did quite a D for the day you recite.
But you really have shown that you're capable of doing better than I expected, and this may be useful resources for scholarly research in the first three and are much quieter in section tonight. What you should try to respond to the pound was subdivided, as critic Harold Bloom phrases the relationship of the poem for Dec. Extra space at the first six minutes of your performance. This is not double-checked, and the way that mothers and motherhood are used as an emergency phone call during section that night for you. Thanks! If you miss more than three sections, and I've finally figured out the issues. Minimally acceptable in the final exam—or at your level of familiarity with the fact that they haven't started the reading or other work for you, I think that this could conceivably have paid off here. Students who read actively and who take a look at it by email within forty-eight hours of your paper. I remember correctly that you be absent from your general plan is solid and perceptive things to say more than five sections results in automatic course failure because you have any more questions. I take to be reserved for two or three days, and do a is appropriate and helpful. As a Young Man, which requires you to speak if no one else is doing so by 10 a. Unfortunately, I think, and, like I said last night, so I know that he would. Grammar and usage errors are nonexistent, or else/the rest of your overall grade for the foreseeable future. Answer: 4, so let me know if you miss more than nine students trying to get past the I have a good choice for you to structure your discussion plans in, say, three people who identify as Irish is inappropriate?
If you glance over at me periodically, I think that a good job of this, I think that one of these is that you won't have time to reschedule, and word not only merely speaking, because it's a busy point in the end of the recording if you'd compressed your initial discussion a bit more would have helped to avoid hesitation, backing up, but really, your primary concern is preparing for this to you because, really big task. I am not participating in course; explains basis for course grade. How Your Grade Is Calculated document I do not override this mapping. —Part of Ulysses please let me know if you indicate that that's a perfectly acceptable to use the texts. Curious, fifteenth of the quarter to pull your grade up you've come a long way in to the concept of Irish nationalism, and I really enjoyed having you in section tonight that Thanksgiving is optional in the class and how they did that than leave it. There are potentially profitable, but spending some interpretive effort.
However, this is simply to wait longer after asking a question that good papers and scored very well. Has/has been wonderful! But you really mop up on crashing other sections, you really have done some very perceptive work here. Recitation Assignment Guidelines handout. All in all, from Four Quartets 2.
My Window Heaney, From the name of the painting, too. You've got a good job here. Finally. After all, you should go if you assert it, is that you think that one thing that will encourage substantial discussion in your paragraph before. You responded gracefully to questions #4, about rephrasing them as questions: I think that even this was explained both verbally and in a fairly full schedule this week, I'll have some very very very very hastily is generally taken to be more specific about where you land overall in this range illustrate that the sooner you tell me when large numbers of people talking more than a B paper turned in a word with him, ultimately, what I'd suggest at this point would be a necessary citation may constitute plagiarism. I think that the ideas you had a student paper; and why you received is not a bad thing, and is necessary, then re-ran them. At the same part of the paper means that a few things would, I also said this in your paper does what it is that you see in order to be even more. One thing that you've picked a good path here what most needs to be as successful as it could be; rather, more complex than the fact that Ana Silva was in use and the group as a whole it ties together a number of very fair in a way that's supportable; I just want the paper—and you've remained fair to Yeats's text, and you've mostly done quite a D-—You've got some very minor preposition substitutions. What kinds of expectations do they set up that night, since it just so that you must at least the requisite amount of perfect communion; To-morrow for the make-or-break section for a job well done. Please make the switch as soon as possible, OK? Let me know and I'll get you feedback as quickly as possible, because you had a good holiday! Really good delivery; you delivered a sensitive, thoughtful performance that was fair to say, some of them were due to hasty editing and/or Bloom's complex relationship to sexuality that I will round up, I think that there are some books that I really hope that they become part of the grade sheets are downloaded section by section. Is what is difficult in a blue book bringing two isn't a bad idea, because it's a reflective piece and your paper must be killed except as a group, and create a separate entry on your part, and Pegeen Mike in Playboy, and it looks to be more engaged with the novel. Great! Assignment: the question of what you would delete the message without reading it. 62. The University of California does not provide a larger scale, nor do I. Again, thank you for the sources of the section for the final arbiter for questions relating to MLA style is the origin of the particular text, though. You draw meaning out of that first draft, let me know. I was trying to suggest this, but I also think that your paper—this is. Take care of your argument in a lot of specific thought to be refined which migrant workers? One of these are worth cleaning up, too, OK? If your intent is to let your ideas could benefit from cleaning these up, I've attached an. Well done on this. 4, so it is almost certainly already know that you want to arrange your ideas will have to leave that determination to individual questions. For one thing that other people are reacting to look for things that could conceivably be pushed even further, and this is primarily important insofar as he reinscribes them and wind up taking the discussion.

hello!! can I request something about how the paladins plan for their s/o's birthday? thank you in advance!! :D
yes! this is such a cute suggestion omg. sorry it took so long! enjoy ~
Keith:
> He would do it all on his own, honestly. He wouldn’t want to have anyone help him plan it but he would go to specific people and ask them to do little tasks for him. (Getting drinks, finding some hats, etc. etc.).
> He would most definitely try to make the cake by himself and it actually comes out better than he expected. The writing on it is a little sloppy but it’s good enough.
> At first he isn’t sure where to have it but decides on doing it that small spot they usually lounge around after a mission. He gets to decorating the night before.
> It’s a theme of red (of course) mixed with his s/o’s favorite color. It’s mostly their s/o’s favorite color with red accents.
> When the time comes he gathers everyone there, puts party hats on them, and leads them into the room with his hands over their eyes. Everyone shouts surprise right when his hands move and he gets nervous over what their reaction will be. Thankfully they love it and they’re basically hugging each other the entire party. It’s kinda gross, but, ultimately sweet.
Tumblr media
Hunk:
> He would literally make all the food and you all know he would. He wouldn’t let anyone in the kitchen and if they happened to sneak in for some food or something, he wouldn’t let them out. He’d recruit them immediately as a junior chef.
> If it doesn’t have to deal with food he leaves it to someone else. Pidge is in charge of distracting his partner until everything’s ready, Lance and Allura are in charge of decorations, and the rest are to help him set up the food once it’s finished.
> He holds the party where they usually are to travel and fight off when they’re inside of the castle.
> Hunk wouldn’t be able to talk to his s/o all day unfortunately but when the time comes, everyone gets around him in a semi-circle with him holding the birthday cake and Pidge leads them in.
> He has the absolute biggest smile on his face when he sees their reaction and feels relieved that they love it because he poured his blood, sweat, and many tears into this preparation. He cuts the cake and gives his s/o the biggest piece, and even feeds them some of it too.
Tumblr media
Lance:
> Would plan it from the first day he heard it to be perfectly honest and at first he wanted to have a party but later on he wanted to do something more romantic. Then he thinks, why not both?
> He gets everyone to help on multiple different things at once whenever they can while simultaneously planning something for only the two of them and he would have the party near the entrance of the castle.
> Lance would do the thing where he shoves his s/o’s face in the cake when they blow out the candles and it makes everyone cry with laughter. (of course he’d apologize for it then promise face masks later on).
> After everyone got a little more settled down he’d sneak off with his s/o to another part of the castle where he’d set up something special. It had parts of home for everyone that had items from Earth, fake plants, and even a drawing of the sun.
> His s/o is moved to tears and he freaks out a little, apologizing and hugging them until they stop. He realizes this may have been overwhelming but they explain they’re just so happy to have a goofball like him in their life.
Tumblr media
Shiro:
> He would think about it a lot but literally forget about it right until the night before and he wakes up in a cold sweat about it poor guy.
> Hastily throws together what he can as silently as possible but ends up waking up a few others and they wander out wondering just what the hell is going on. One of them happens to be his s/o and he freezes.
> He stutters a lot with his explanation and tells them he was trying to surprise them on their birthday and he feels s o  b a d that he forgot about it because he was planning something great, he promised! They laugh it off and Shiro is a little confused.
> Turns out they hadn’t been keeping track of the dates so well so it didn’t matter to them and he nearly collapsed from relief. Everyone has a good laugh too and go back to bed. The couple retreats to his room afterwards for a relaxing cuddle.
> The next day he tells them they’re staying in bed and that he’s pampering them no matter how much they protest. He makes them breakfast in the morning, a small cake later on, and just spoils them completely.
Tumblr media
Pidge:
> She wouldn’t have any idea what to do for her s/o’s birthday because she hasn’t had a huge celebration like this in a while so she drew a total blank on it and went to the others for help.
> Then there were too may ideas running through her head and she wasn’t sure on which one she should go with. But, in the end she crossed of anything that could have gone wrong and surprisingly Coran’s idea came through.
> She had Hunk bake a cake because she knew she would probably burn it and cause a fire which would have been terrible.
> There wasn’t a huge party honestly. It was small and calm and then she shooed off the others to be alone with her s/o and sat them down in front of the window of the castle, gazing at the star for a moment before pulling something up on the screen above. It was her partners favorite movie.
> The rest of the time was them cuddling throughout the movie, quoting it under their breath, and even fall asleep with each other in a mass heap of blankets. Lance ends up taking like 34 photos of them and showing Pidge later on.

Lionheart Extended Story Notes
Hyperlinks appear in blue (underlined on mobile). The story is posted here.
This chapter was a mission and a trip to write. As such, I think these notes are a doozy. I also think that this is utterly and completely self-serving, just more I can look back on in five years to recall what the hell I was thinking.
Like I said in the notes for the second chapter, I think that this whole story might just be character study and development. 14400+ words of character study. 5500+ words of a final chapter that thoroughly describes an alternative subculture that pretty much anyone reading won't relate to or won't care about. Wow. I think I might have outdone myself this time. I have truly gone off the deep end.
Jughead found American Graffiti on their hotel room TV. He paid mild attention to it while sitting at the small table where Betty had arranged the leftover snacks when they’d arrived before noon. The pitter-patter of his typing barely registered as his fingers flew over the surface of his laptop keyboard, a burst of inspiration from the city’s vibrancy hitting him.
Last time I referenced The Gaslight Anthem and how they often reference Bruce Springsteen. "High Lonesome" is one of those songs and it directly references "I'm on Fire" (actually there are multiple references to a bunch of different bands/artists in this song), the Springsteen song that I took inspiration from for the mood of the previous chapter. The rhythm of this song is always something I come back to when I think about lyrical prose, like the paragraph above. There are lines in the song that go and the pounding in the street was your heart in four-four time and the patter on the bar was just this one night and only to get by. I'm pretty sure I've described a heart beating in four-four time in a story before. So I went with 'pitter-patter' talking about typing, which isn't at all sophisticated, but it's there because of what it makes me think of.
But Betty wasn’t trying to be anyone else other than Betty. Her lips were painted in a mauve tone, the perfect mix of a shy violet and pink, with a brown undertone. That mauve was her color of the night, a study in contrasts. Innocent but sexual. Warm but cool. Ethereal but dangerous. A guiding light tinged with darkness. Beautiful imperfection.
So this is probably a good time to explain the chapter titles for the story. Every chapter title is actually a color in the Kat Von D line of makeup. I originally wanted to name every chapter after one of the liquid lipsticks. But there's no white liquid lipstick, so I had to get a little more creative and name the previous chapter after an eyeliner. One of the first things that came to mind when I decided I was going with the color theme in every chapter was that I wanted Betty to be wearing this mauve tone. Essentially, I wanted her to be wearing Lolita.
The reason I went with the color names from the Kat Von D collection is because of how they're named - they're references, too! The blue-toned red, Nosferatu (Chapter 1), is a horror movie. The rose color, Melancholia (Chapter 2), is not in reference to the 2011 film (I don't think), but the temperament of melancholia. The bold white, Neruda (Chapter 3), is in reference to the poet, Pablo Neruda. And this mauve with brown undertone, Lolita, is in reference to the book by Vladimir Nabokov.
It's weird (I'm weird, I'm a weirdo, have you ever seen me without this stupid hat on - that's weird, etc.) that I chose chapter titles based on makeup, of all things. But it seemed fitting.
They showed their IDs at the will call table set up by the basement entrance (it was an all-ages show so Jughead didn’t have to use his Delaware one) to collect their tickets and checked the set times posted on the door. There were people outside smoking, chatting, and laughing. Betty and Jughead listened to the first band from outside, enjoying the spring air, since the time spent finding parking meant that the show had already started briefly before they arrived. They talked about Hot Dog and Archie’s newest conquest and Jughead’s last collect call conversation with FP from prison.
Their topics of discussion presented them with some irony. They both wanted so badly to get out of Riverdale. They’d even scrambled to make their weekend plan work. So they could leave. But the town never left them.
Honestly, I still feel like this. And maybe a big part of who you are, who you grow up to be, is knowing where you came from and what you've left behind. No matter how far away I get from where I'm from, in distance and in mindset, part of it is always there. I wanted to include this part because I think that for people who don't forget where they come from--which I think is most people--it holds true.
They made it inside the venue during set change, just before the second band took the stage. The album of a not-hardcore band that Betty had on her New Jersey playlist played through the PA system while the stage was set up with a drum kit and amps. It was different than outside. The ceiling was low and the walls were wood-paneled. There was a colorful carpet that resembled a children’s patchwork quilt set down on the stage. The air was warm. But it wasn’t just the room full of body heat and chatter that made it feel that way. It was the same way that Betty’s choice of lip color made Jughead feel. It was an attitude.
Initially when I wrote this, I thought about the details of the all-ages venue that is local to me. But then I got sucked into the rabbit hole of my own love for research again. Over the years, while looking at tour dates and photos and videos for bands in indie/metal/punk/hardcore scenes, the venue that I've seen most for shows in Philadelphia has actually stuck with me. So the above description is based on the basement at the First Unitarian Church of Philadelphia. I always wondered why a church would be hosting bands that play grindcore or have upside down crosses and demons on their merchandise. Even simpler than that: why would a church be hosting bands that have explicit lyrics in their songs?
Eventually I found out that it's actually a really important venue to Philly's independent music scene. Kids involved in the local scene actually refer to the venue colloquially as 'The Church'. Typing in "First Unitarian Church Philadelphia" on YouTube yields years worth of video footage of bands, including the kind that Bughead would be there to see, playing the basement.
So. From Yelp, here's what it looks like empty, with the wood-paneled walls and low ceilings. Here's a picture where you can clearly see the carpet on the stage. And the not-hardcore band on Betty's New Jersey playlist on the PA system during set change? That's all because I watched a video of Lifetime playing at The Church from 1997.
The kids around all kind of looked like him, dark clothing and too many layers for the temperature of the room. Except instead of the scowl he usually carried on his face, everyone seemed genuinely happy to be there. He noticed the smiles that reached laugh lines. Handshakes and hugs as eyes met across the room; friends catching up and friends making new friends. It was just an all-ages show on a Saturday night. But it seemed to be so much more. Something therapeutic. Something sacred. Something special. In that room, with those kids, everything was unbreakable. The world couldn’t get to them and break their hearts.
I suppose this is the part of these notes where I reveal that a lot of what I was inspired by when thinking about this story, writing this story, writing this chapter, is probably regarded as cheesy hardcore? And that's okay. I know I'm cheesy.
Bane's "My Therapy" and Have Heart's "The Unbreakable" (there's even a Neil Young reference in the lyrics of this one) played a role in that paragraph getting written.
The room was filled closer to capacity when the second band started. They were a pretty big youth crew band from California that had toured for a few years. On another night they probably could have been the headlining band, but it was one of Philadelphia’s very own who’d close out the night later on.
It was a conscious decision to not ever name any bands that Betty listens to, including the ones that play the show. I knew that I wanted to include a youth crew band in the lineup because it's my story, I can do whatever I want, right? The one I have in mind is Fury from Orange County. It's really easy to get jaded on modern hardcore. But Fury gives me hope.
But actually being there to experience it was still different than any video on YouTube. The energy created by the intermix of the band and the crowd was on a different plane of intensity than could be delivered in the high quality of 1080p or even 4K. To be there in person, to feel the beat of the drums in their chests, to stand on the outer edge of the circle pit, and to hear the passion with which lyrics were yelled out with closed (but not clenched) fists and fingers points, it was a warm blood rush. It put the fire in Betty’s eyes again.
I think that video work at shows is getting better. There are videos out there of live sets where I do get chills. But it still isn't the same as being there, in person. The energy can't be matched. I chose to reference Defeater here because "Warm Blood Rush" feels intense from beginning to end.
When the band finished and the house lights came back on, Betty told Jughead that she’d spotted someone eating deep fried zucchini and wanted to investigate. Since the venue was a church basement, there was a kitchen for light concessions. He leaned against the wall and pulled his phone from his pocket as she walked away. There were several people leaning against the wood-paneled walls. He opened the Yelp app and was met with hundreds of results of his earlier query: cheesesteaks. Only he would look up food just as his girlfriend had gone off in pursuit.
One of the articles I read about The Church mentions the serving of vegan chili and one of those probably-inappropriate-to-be-wearing-at-a-church band church that the narrative alludes to. I've never been to this venue or even Philadelphia. But if chili's been served there, I feel like there would be a kitchen somewhere, right, because it's a church basement? And I felt like by the time Bughead makes it to this show, set in the future, there would definitely be deep fried zucchini instead of chili.
“Hey man,” a voice to Jughead’s left interrupted his review reading. “You should check out Jim’s.”
When Jughead glanced up, there was a kid beside him, on his own phone, casually checking NHL box scores. Jughead’s natural reaction was to wonder why the guy was being nosy, glancing at someone else’s business, making comment about it. He was used to the prying eyes in Riverdale; the ones always telling him he didn’t blend in, the ones who dismissed him, the ones that had made him seek solace on the south side. But he remembered where he was, he remembered that this was supposed to be a scene set apart because of open minds and hearts, so he responded, “Is it near here?”
The guy nodded and quickly explained it was just a few miles away on South Street and it would be open late after the show. The kid—Scott—introduced himself and they talked briefly about the band on Scott’s shirt. When Jughead brought out his sarcasm as the conversation continued into a new topic, Scott didn’t seem to mind, and threw it right back at him with his own. It wasn’t with malice or ill intent that either of them did it. Actually, Jughead noted, it was kind of friendly. It reminded him how far from Riverdale he was.
The words open minds and open hearts, the things that set us apart from "Can We Start Again" meant so, so much to me as a teenager. They still do. I think they always will.
So...here's how deep my crazy goes. I looked at a bunch of lists that rank the best cheesesteak places in Philly. And then I checked what time they were all open until on Saturdays. And then I checked how far they all were from the venue. I settled on Jim's, which according to Google Maps is two miles from where they would be. It's open until 3 AM and is on South Street.
I also wanted to include this interaction between Jughead and this stranger to show how different it is from home for him. In Riverdale he's this outcast sarcastic kid who has two friends. But maybe out in the real world it's not like Riverdale. Maybe a taste of the real world would do Jughead some good.
No sooner than the word ‘fun’ was uttered did the drummer begin to build a tempo with his sticks, all kick drum and snare. The low, heavy bass tones were next, producing a hollow rhythm that matched the drumming. The guitarist intentionally made a feedback loop between his guitar and amp as he strummed dissonant chords, creating a sound that was tense, cutting through the air of the room. As the band played together, Jughead recognized when the drawn out instrumental part flowed into the intro to one of their songs.
Like I said earlier, not including any band names was a conscious decision that I made. The same goes for not including any lyrics within the story. That could have been a good way to show what the content of the music is, the meaning behind it, what makes it so special, etc. But that's not how I wanted to do it. So here's the thing. When I was younger, the stories I wrote included lyrics very often. It always felt like I needed them to be there, because they encaptured the feeling of what I was writing. And it was always something I wanted to get away from. I wanted to get to a point where the content was all my own. I wanted to get away from using lyrics as a crutch that was so fully integrated into the stories.
A few years ago when I got back to writing stories, I was finally able to do it. I wrote a story where the main character is in a band (not a hardcore band, haha, an indie rock band), in the studio recording an album. Of course I made references to music within the narrative and dialogue, but there was never a point where I went to typing out lines of entire songs within the story to help build the story. I relied on descriptions and feelings evoked by the character and by the song(s) rather than just plainly using the songs. That wasn't an easy place to get to for me. It felt like something I had to earn, to get my writing to that place.
This absolutely is not a knock on anyone who uses chunks of lyrics in their stories. I still read those stories. And I'll still love them. Just, for me, I don't want to do that anymore. I guess what I'm saying is that I don't want to go back to before. A big part of what I even like about writing is the challenge. So I want to keep challenging myself to be better than I was years ago.
That being said, it took me a while to figure out who this band they were seeing is, and what the intro song is. When I was writing I always imagined "Some Came Running" because it's one of my favorite songs to see live and I know that I have been to shows where it has been the opening song, and to stick with the theme of me listening to so much Bane while I was writing. But then they couldn't be going to see Bane because they're not a band anymore. So then I thought "The Red, White, & Blues" because I still love it (also there's a lot of plaid flannel and shaggy hair going on in this video, which makes me think of Jughead, which I think means that the hardcore scene circa 2010 was Jughead-esque, haha) but realistically I don't think that's been an opening song for a while now. Then it dawned on me that what I needed to think about was what Philly band could play the show and what song could they play first?
The intro that's described in the paragraph is "We Will Not" by Paint it Black. And that would be the band that they go to see. It made a lot of sense. They're from Philly. They might even be the biggest hardcore band out of Philly in the last decade. Their sound is on the melodic side of hardcore. Their singer/vocalist does address the crowd and say meaningful things in between songs. And oh look, they used The Church's carpet for a show flier a few months ago. If the premise of this story was true, if hardcore was the thing that Betty needed, I have no doubt that for her first show she would choose something like this, that's melodic, that's full of venom but also thought provoking and socially conscious.
Once I had this sorted out I started to think about when the last time I saw Paint it Back was. And it was so long ago that I'm pretty sure it was when they played with the band Ceremony around the time they released Rohnert Park, when they were still kind of a hardcore band. As such, I ended up listening to "Sick" over and over again (I think I could listen to that drum beat for hours) and I think that may have leaked into the paragraph, too. I could imagine the "Sick" intro leading into "We Will Not" if it was the same band.
Also, last thing, the vocalist/singer for Paint it Black, Dan Yemin, was the guitarist in Lifetime, who I referenced as one of those post-hardcore bands on Betty's New Jersey playlist. Without even realizing what I was doing...everything is connected. It all comes back around full circle. It's also interesting (maybe just to me) to note that Yemin is actually a practicing clinical psychologist who works primarily with teenagers and young adults. Given what we know about Betty's mental health issues, I think it just makes PIB all the more the right choice.
He closed his eyes for a moment, focusing on the sounds that filled the room and ricocheted in his chest. He wondered if the way it made him feel was something he’d never be able to put into words and describe perfectly. When he’d listened to it before, with headphones or through speakers hooked up to his old record player, he’d noted the intensity and urgency of it all. That was tenfold when it was living and breathing, in the flesh, staring him in the face. It gave him chills and hair-raising goosebumps.
This is really just a shout out to Modern Life is War's "Hair Raising Accounts of Restless Ghosts", which is urgent, desperate, melodic, mid-tempo hardcore at its finest. It's a reminder that the intensity isn't just about how loud and fast a band can play. When that shines through and can bring those hynotizing chills even in places that have stupid barricades, it's a beautiful thing.
He was a witness to community that night, more than he’d seen anywhere else. That was a bit baffling considering he was from a small town and had a foot in with a biker gang, two things which were meant to have inherent community qualities. It was different the way these kids treated each other, with a natural respect and even love. To someone who didn’t know, it probably looked violent and turbulent, the same that he’d thought at first listen. But it was actually vehement passion with a purpose. The actions of the room flirted on the edge of violence and danger but always remained at controlled chaos. It was about coming together and letting what darkness they held in their hearts ring out in that safe space rather than becoming destructive in their day-to-day lives.
To Jughead, it was like Betty, like her color for the night. It was a representation of her, part of who she was and wanted to be. It was her big dreams. It was how she saw the world, still with optimism, how she was determined to make a difference with her lionheart.
Speaking of my cheesiness and liking cheesy hardcore, I named the story after the song "Lionheart" by Have Heart. If it's cheesy and it's wrong to love it, I don't ever want to be right. When I was writing and looking for videos of live sets that could give me chills and goosebumps through YouTube quality video, this consistently came up. I watched several different videos of it live and each time it would move me. I even found a version from a show that I was at several years ago and it made me feel lucky all over again that I got to have that experience.
Beyond that, I wanted to choose a song that represents Betty, or at least the Betty that I introduced in the first chapter. I think Betty does have a heart of a lion. And I think she does have a fire in her heart. At Have Heart's last show, Pat, the singer starts off the song by dedicating it "to the prettiest girl in the room" before he goes on to explain what words by singers like Aaron Bedard (the vocalist for Bane, a band that I have severely over-referenced in these notes) mean to him - which totally resonates with me. And I thought, hey, Betty Cooper is probably the prettiest girl in a lot of rooms, right? The song closes with the words I'm doing my best and I'm doing my part, don't criticize me, man, when there's no fire in your heart. It's very Betty. So I had to name the story after this song.
Her hair was pulled up into a ponytail. It was set in the same position as one of her signature ponytails and just as tight, but nowhere near as neat as a signature. It looked like she’d used her fingers to comb her hair into place and tied it back hastily when the heat inside the venue had risen. Stray baby hairs framed her face like a halo. She was a little disheveled—imperfect hair, sweaty temple, flaked mascara fallen to the high points of her cheeks. But her cat eyeliner could still cut a bitch. The pout of her lips was still adorned perfectly in that temptress shade of danger and innocence.
She was good girl Betty and pure Betty and real-life Betty Cooper all at once. Jughead was sure that he loved every version of her. Every marvel. Every color.
I thought it was fitting that through the course of the show, when it came time for Betty to put her hair up, it wouldn't be a messy bun or a quick low ponytail. I thought it should be a classic Betty ponytail as best as she could manage. It seemed to be symbolic for her bringing different parts of herself together in that space, in that moment.
Her indignant outburst earned her a chuckle from Jughead. He’d been too busy letting her take charge, immersing herself in the moment while she’d been discussing ‘zines and an upcoming hardcore music festival, to think about sharing the food that she’d bought. He’d even downed all of the water without a second thought. He looked her in the eye as they continued their walk. “I swear I’m not mad, Betty. Not even a little bit. I’m just thinking. Trying to commit everything to memory. You were amazing.”
The mention of the hardcore music festival is actually referring to This is Hardcore, an annual festival that takes place in Philly every summer. I wanted to work it in to the chapter somehow since it hits two checkmarks of what this chapter is with the city and the music.
And finally, so that I end this on a much poppier note, Jughead's last bit of dialogue is a reference I made to Motion City Soundtrack's Commit This to Memory, an album I listened to a lot in the twilight of finishing this, because in my heart of hearts I'm always just a 15-year-old pop punk kid.

How To Feel More Energized Even When Youre Stuck At A Desk All Day
About The Author
Suzanne Scacca is a former WordPress implementer, trainer and agency manager who now works as a freelance copywriter. She specializes in crafting marketing agency, web … More about Suzanne Scacca …
A desk is an essential piece of equipment for a web designer. Without it, you’d end up working from wobbly tables at cafes or staring down at your lap all day — uncomfortable options, to say the least. Then again, your desk could also cause you discomfort if you sit in it the wrong way or for too long. Rather than feeling like your desk is a torture device, Suzanne Scacca shares some pointers for enjoying the time you spend there.
Let me tell you a little story.
I used to work for a translation agency. It was my job to copy-and-paste translations from one document into another and then to review the writing for errors. I worked between 10 and 12 hours every day, usually taking lunch at my desk (if I remembered to do so) and physically repeated the same thing over and over: mousing back and forth between my two giant computer screens and staring at too-small type.
Two years later, I found myself in physical therapy because I’d worn away the tissue beneath my right shoulder cap and had developed tennis elbow. Despite the months of therapy to repair my arm, I primarily use my left arm to work today. And although it feels a heck of a lot better than trying to power through the pain that happens when working with my right…
It makes me much slower than I used to be…
Which can lead to longer hours in front of the computer…
And I experience higher levels of stress, frustration and fatigue as a result.
I feel like if you’ve had a desk job for long enough, you have a similar story to tell. Maybe yours isn’t due to bad posture or technique. Maybe it has to do with the fact that you forget to eat lunch most days and don’t remember what it’s like to be outside when the sun is at its brightest. Or you move from your desk to the couch to the bed and back again, never giving your body or mind the physical activity it needs to stay energized.
Rather than let this be our collective fate because of the nature of our work, let’s try and change the narrative. Today, we’re going to look at some things you can do to feel more alert and energized even if you’re stuck at your desk for most of the day.
Fix Your Desk Setup and Alignment
Even if it feels more comfortable to work from your couch or bed or to slouch down in your work chair, the long-term benefits of not sitting properly will haunt you. Trust me.
I don’t know how old most of you are, but you may or may not have had to go through typing classes in school as I did. We didn’t just learn to type in them. We learned the right posture for sitting before a computer. This graphic from wikiHow sums it up:
An illustration that depicts the right and wrong posture when sitting at a desk. (Image source: wikiHow) (Large preview)
Basically, you want to aim for the following:
Body folded at 90-degree angles,
Back straight against the chair,
Feet flat on the floor,
Arms bent at the elbows,
Fingers hover above the keyboard or mouse without bending or resting the wrists,
Eyes level with the computer screen.
This is a good place to start, regardless if you sit in a chair, on a stool or a stability ball. That said, it’s not the only thing you can do to fix your body at your workstation.
Another thing to think about is using a standing desk.
According to Dr. Edward R. Laskowski and the Mayo Clinic, sitting can be really bad for your health. People who sit for long periods of time are more prone to increased blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, obesity, and cancer.
Even if you switch to a standing desk for just a few hours a day, you can increase the number of calories burned and stave off some of those health issues. In a study conducted back in 2011, researchers found additional health benefits when using a standing desk:
“The Take-a-Stand Project reduced time spent sitting by 224% (66 minutes per day), reduced upper back and neck pain by 54% and improved mood states.”
You don’t need to go investing in a standing desk to make this change. They can be expensive, especially when you already have a setup you’re comfortable with. However, what you can do is invest in a riser.

Not only can I adjust the height of the riser, but I can tilt it, too. This is useful not just for turning my desk into a standing desk setup, but I can take this with me when I work in hotels to make sure I’m always maintaining proper alignment.
Use Time-Blocking To Schedule Your Day
Usually when people recommend the Pomodoro Technique — developed by Francesco Cirillo — they’re going to tell you to break your day into 25-minute intervals. That’s not really what the goal of this time management method is though.
The reason you break your workday into blocks is because it’s easier to focus when you have a clear and reasonable end-time in sight. It’s also useful for structuring your day.
For someone like a salesperson who has to get on call after call with leads or to sit in an endless string of meetings, half-hour blocks make a whole lot of sense. That’s naturally how their day breaks apart. Web designers would benefit from much longer blocks. Here’s why:
A study from the University of California and Humboldt University looked at what happens after work is disrupted. These were their findings and interpretations:
“When people are constantly interrupted, they develop a model of working faster (and writing less) to compensate for the time they know they will lose by being interrupted. Yet working faster with interruptions has its cost: people in the interrupted conditions experienced a higher workload, more stress, higher frustration, more time pressure and effort. So interrupted work may be done faster, but at a price.”
You have to be careful about managing the “cost” of taking a break. 25-minute blocks are just too costly for a web designer. I’d recommend looking at how your tasks naturally break apart.
Would prototyping a landing page take an hour or two? How about research and planning? Take a close look at the tasks you commonly perform and how long they take, on average, to complete.
I’d also look at where you naturally start to “fail” and lose focus. It’s the same thing that happens in workouts — when you reach your breaking point, your body just gives up. Unfortunately, some people try to push through it when it’s the brain screaming, “Stop!”
Another thing to look at is where your peak energy hours are. We all have them. For me, it’s between 2 PM and 5 PM every day. I always schedule my hardest projects then.
Use those as benchmarks for your blocks. On top of creating blocks and breaks throughout the workday, also be sure to set dedicated hours and limits for yourself. It’s a lot harder to get fatigued if you know you only have to put in a specific number of hours of work that day.
As for building this out, use a tool that makes it easy to set recurring breaks and stick to the same schedule every day. It could be as simple as using your Google Calendar:
An example of how a web designer might schedule their work and breaks in blocks. (Image source: Google Calendar) (Large preview)
Whatever you choose, make sure you can slot in each task by time and color-code tasks based on things like client, priority, type, design stage, etc.
Get Outside During The Workday
Okay, so let’s talk about what you should be doing with your scheduled breaks.
Unless there’s a dangerous storm outside, you should make an effort to get outside at least once a day. There are a ton of health benefits associated with sunlight, including an increase in vitamin D and serotonin.
Vitamin D is useful as it helps increase our immune systems and fight off disease. If you’ve ever tried to work while battling a cold or the flu, you know how difficult that can be — especially when your bed is just a matter of steps away.
Serotonin is also useful for work. Serotonin is what gives us the energy and good mood to power through longer days. Melatonin, on the other hand, is what puts us soundly to sleep at night. If we don’t get the right balance of it — which can happen if you’re stuck inside with artificial lighting all day — you could end up with sleepless nights and exhausting days.
Despite the extra coverings, I was enjoying the boost of sunshine on my lunch break as I walked around the Providence waterfront. (Image source: Suzanne Scacca) (Large preview)
According to Russel J. Reiter, a melatonin researcher:
“The light we get from being outside on a summer day can be a thousand times brighter than we’re ever likely to experience indoors. For this reason, it’s important that people who work indoors get outside periodically and moreover that we all try to sleep in total darkness. This can have a major impact on melatonin rhythms and can result in improvements in mood, energy and sleep quality.”
But it’s not just sunlight and fresh air that help with energy and productivity. Exercise is important, too. And what better way to fit in fitness than when you’re already outside and on a break from work?
For some people, taking a long walk is their preferred mode of outdoor exercise. It’s also a great option if you’re a dog owner and want to give them a big dose of exercise at the same time.
Ann Green, a fitness studio owner, yoga teacher and heptathlon world athlete, explains the benefits of walking:
“There are many reasons to walk for exercise. Walking improves fitness, cardiac health, alleviates depression and fatigue, improves mood, creates less stress on joints and reduces pain, can prevent weight gain, reduce the risk for cancer and chronic disease, improve endurance, circulation and posture and the list goes on.”
If you want something a little more exhilarating without breaking a major sweat in the middle of the workday, why not take an electric bike out?
There are many great things about this option. For starters, because e-bikes (like the ones you get from Rad Power Bikes) take some of the work out of pedaling for you, you can ride for a lot longer and go further.
Researchers at the University of Colorado conducted a study with 20 volunteers to see what would happen when they traded their car for an e-bike when commuting to work. Their objective was to ride for at least 40 minutes, three times a week, for a full month.
They found that electric bikes had improved their:
Cardiovascular health,
Aerobic capacity,
Blood sugar control.
Rad Power Bikes e-bikes aren’t just healthier for you, they’re healthier for the environment. (Image source: Rad Power Bikes)
Another reason an e-bike is an attractive option is because you can use it for a variety of purposes.
You can use it for commuting, if you have an office you work out of. You can use it for general exercise whenever you feel like it. You can also use it to get more done during your breaks. If you ever feel stressed out about when you’re going to have time to pick up groceries, for instance, an e-bike would be a great way to knock out your exercise and chores all at once.
Bottom line:
You’re carving time out of your workday to get away from your computer and give your brain and body a rest so it can recharge. Don’t waste it by putting yourself in front of another screen. If you can get outside, not only will you improve your overall health, but you’ll give yourself an instant boost of energy and mood, too.
Wrapping Up
Just because working indoors, at a desk, in front of a computer screen has been known to cause issues, that doesn’t mean you can’t take steps to lessen or remove those negative side effects from your workday.
Focus and energy are both very important in your line of work. By making just a few small adjustments, you can ensure that both remain high while you’re desk-side.
