So based on what I've read so far for primers on chaos magic, I recommend starting with Condensed Chaos: An Introduction To Chaos Magic by Phil Hine, THEN getting the updated and revised and expanded editions of Liber Null and Psychonaut and also Liber Kaos by Peter J Carroll.
Caveats for Condensed Chaos:
misuse of "shaman" and similar terms (none of what is brought up relates to Tungusic peoples)
written by a neurotypical white English bisexual cisgender man, and boy howdy is the neurotypical part obvious in several areas
inconsistent capitalization for concepts, and also inconsistent comma usage
definitely a product of its time and not decolonized, which is a larger problem in chaos magic as a whole
Recommended Audience for Condensed Chaos:
pop culture mages/pagans
those interested in servitors, sigils, or chaos magic more broadly
technology mages
those who want to explore Jungian psychology in magic
As for Peter J Carroll's works... Basically the same as the above, yet also way more difficult to read if you're not used to old grimoire-esque language and writing styles.
I'd still genuinely recommend all three of these, just with the reminder to raise an eyebrow at some of the claims made.
The books I still have to read on chaos magic that I currently own are Hands-On Chaos Magic: Reality Manipulation Through The Ovayki Current by Andrieh Vitimus; Creating Magickal Entities: A Complete Guide to Entity Creation by David Michael Cunningham, Taylor Ellwood, and T Amanda R Wagener; and Magickal Servitors: Create Your Own Spirits To Attract Pleasure, Power and Prosperity by Damon Brand.
Plenty of reading left for me to do on this subject.

hi, i was wondering if servitors can like affect other people or can they only act as guardians for their creator/only do work on their creator?
by affecting other people i mean like. can they attack other people for you? ik that's a strong example but that's what i sorta mean
...I mean, yeah. Servitors can do whatever you program them to do, within the limits of what skills you give them to achieve those ends. Sure, it's also limited by how physically possible certain things are, but...yeah.
If you're interested in thoughtforms and servitors on the whole, please check this section of @jasper-grimoire. I also recommend reading Condensed Chaos: An Introduction to Chaos Magic by Phil Hine (which will give you an insight into chaos magic and has a section dedicated to the subject of servitors) (my review here) and Magickal Servitors: Create Your Own Spirits to Attract Pleasure, Power and Prosperity by Damon Brand (which is outside of the realm of chaos magic, but has some neat tips and tricks) (my review here).
Those resources will be able to help you with learning more about servitors!

Lethal Weapon (1987)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Plot: Aging detective Roger Murtagh (Danny Glover) is partnered with the suicidal Martin Riggs (Mel Gibson) on a murder investigation. The victim is the daughter of an old friend, who soon asks for help; but how deeply is he involved, and what kind of people are they up against?
Tumblr media
Review: Written by Shane Black, Lethal Weapon is an Oscar-nominated action film which spawned three sequels, numerous cliches, and countless parodies and piss-takes - a sign it did something right.
It isn’t too hard to pinpoint what either; the partnership between Riggs and Murtagh makes the most of the two actors, as the dynamic between the two is built perfectly. The former is a broken man, contemplating suicide and constantly putting himself in harms way, while the latter is a family man, closing in on retirement, but who doesn’t appreciate a partner. Together the two break down each other while they try to break the case, providing emotional weight to the violence and skulduggery that is going on around them.
A lot has been written about Mel Gibson, and he’s deservedly taken a lot of abuse, so it’s easy to forget that before that he was a very good actor. It would be easy to play Riggs as a stereotypical lunatic, but Gibson seems to understand that he doesn’t really have a deep-lying condition, but has been broken by events instead. Meanwhile Glover is having the time of his life as the tough man with a heart of gold, a family man who will not suffer fools gladly. The pair work so well that by the time it comes to the inevitable gunfight finale, you really care about them; it’s not just about them surviving, but seeing them bond and become better people for it.
Lethal Weapon features a lot of typical Shane Black touches, even when passed through Director Richard Donner, from the Christmas setting to some of the language used. It works here, and it spawned something people have been trying to rip-off ever since.

As for Magickal Servitors: Create Your Own Spirits to Attract Pleasure, Power and Prosperity by Damon Brand, I found it to be far more effective, straight to the point, and actionable.
An important thing to note is that the author talks mad shit about chaos magic and the usage of iconography from pop culture and has strong opinions about the "best forms" for a servitor to take on, but you can easily roll your eyes and ignore these sections. Or talk mad shit in the margins yourself, which is what I did.
I also deducted a point for spelling magic with a K and the lack of Oxford commas, which leaves us at 8 out of 10 - firmly in my bracket of "good with caveats".
Overall, I would say it's a good guide to the actionable process of creating a servitor, but I would still recommend reading Condensed Chaos by Phil Hine in full first, so you get a well-rounded bit of background information around the creation of servitors.

As a country music legend and a member of the Songwriters Hall of Fame, Dolly Parton knows how to put together a tune. Dolly also knows that, sometimes, you need to make sure you get the respect you deserve — just like how Taylor Swift went after Damon Albarn when he said “she doesn’t write” her own songs. “I don’t care what other people say about my songs,” Dolly tells HollywoodLife EXCLUSIVELY while discussing the new Dolly Parton Baking Collection with Duncan Hines. “But with Taylor, she’s a great writer — with or without anybody.
Dolly also waved off Damon’s claims that “co-writing doesn’t count” in songcraft. “It’s not true,” she insisted. “When you co-write a song, you work just as hard. Sometimes you work harder with a co-writer because you want to be sure to do your part.” Though Dolly says she doesn’t write a lot with other people because her writing is deeply personal to her — “Rather than thinking about what I’m going to put on a record, I just write whatever is coming out right now” — she respects those who do create with others. “There’s a lot to be said about co-writing,” says Dolly.
“I really get rubbed wrong sometimes when people mistreat the artist. I don’t like that,” says Dolly. When Taylor’s fearlessness in calling out her haters is brought up, Dolly says she “completely gets that, and she’s magnificent.”
“I think she’s done great,” Dolly says of Taylor. “And that’s one of the things I admire about her because she’s never sold herself. She’s never felt like she’s had to sell her body. She’s always had good taste in how she’s presented herself and with her songs. And she’s very creative and very, very, very smart in the marketing of her life. She knows who she is and what she wants. And I’m the same way. I’m going to fight if it goes against what I feel is not right for me.”
