Gale Reviews: Miraculous World Paris: Tales of Shadybug and Claw Noir

Spoilers below

-Oh wow, Gabriel that is good is actually a better mentor then su han. (a low bar but still)

-Reminder that Plagg can be that insightful and also just as omnipotent as Tikki

-The diary is cheesy for exposition, BUT shadybug's reaction to it is actually sweet. Marinette in any universe wants friends and to care for others. (my headcanon is that this is shadybug summarizing what her alternate self is thinking/writing)

-SHE FOUND OUT ABOUT THE WISH POWERS! OF S***

-shadybug going to double cross her Claw noir

-SHADYBUG GOT HIM!

-and she found out he's adrien.

-Emo!Adrien lol

-PLAGG IS GAGGED! The supreme is really evil

-Welp this is probably the best writing I have seen from ML in a while. I legit buy this saddness.

I stand by what I said, this is the best Miraculous world special done.

Honestly If I included it in my episode rankings this is easily a top 5 contender.

I now want a sequel in which Shadybug and Claw noir fight the supreme, because the Supreme sounds f***ing epic and evil.

Maybe season 6 plays into it. (That would be one hell of a season)

10/10 in terms of ML specials and episodes

I finished the pretty gorls ON TIME!

I'm gonna ramble under the cut about the designs n stuff but you can scroll past that to get to the timelapse if u want.

@jotg-miraculousrewriteau is where you'll see any updates about this story/au/rewrite I have going on if you get interested. It'll take some time before I get around to writing it but I'll be trying to draw more. I'll list some reasons for why I haven't gotten much out recently under the cut. Not abandoning the au tho!

This one was a STRUGGLE and part of it was because I still liked last year's and because my interest in ml has taken a back burner with other interests BARGING IN this year.

Not to say that I don't want to work on my rewrite anymore, but I'm probably gonna do some more rewatching so I can get fully back into it again. I can't really plop down what I've come up with for the rewrite and be satisfied anyway, so I'm stuck until I get the thing written and drawn.

THAT ASIDE, I changed up their posing again and included updates to the character design. I don't know if what I've drawn Marinette in here will stick for her redesign as far as outfits are concerned, but I don't really like the previous outfit I gave her anymore so I needed to work with something new.

Overall I like how this turned out, even if I'm a bit unsure abt other areas.

Specifics: Once again, I liked coloring and drawing Marinette more which shouldn't be a surprise since I have more to work with in her design. I made the foolish mistake of not including her freckles in the past, so now I'm amending for that. She's sort of matching her bf now.

I included some lore bits abt Tikki and Marinette's complicated relationship here that I haven't talked abt before. Marinette is not doing anything to Tikki intentionally, but I have a plot line in the story I have planned that involves how the kwamis went from deities to kwamis. Got caged in the miraculous. And the consequences that follow.

INcluding Marinette and Tikki gaining a strained relationship for the majority of the story.

But that's all I'll say on that for now.

You might notice Marinette's skintone has changed a bit from other redesigns. What happened was, when I was first coming up with ideas for the rewrite, I was going off of critisysms I saw a lot and noting them down. One, was that Mari didn't look like she was biracial and her skin tone should reflect that. Now. I was young and figured "Oh okay! So. Lets look up what average chinese skintones are!" ...I found the racist color swatches that got pretty close to yellow and I ignorantly changed her skin tone to that.

So! Now her skin tone is closer to canon's and I've decided anything about her heritage isn't something I'll tackle in my rewrite/au since I'm not qualified. I still have some things I've changed so she looks similar to both parents, but no more of that skin tone.

Lol I didn't get the timelapse started until the basic sketches were completed

Okay. Okay. Hear me out. Because I'm Greek mythology trash.

An Odyssey AU for Miraculous Ladybug. Think about it. Adrien is the most Odysseus character I've ever seen. Fake piano playing? Hiding in a fountain? I mean, it practically writes itself. And Marinette as Penelope is equally as perfect - she creates, but she's smart enough to pull it all apart at the end of the day.

Now here is where things get a little strange: Telemachus. Being an avid MLB fanfiction reader (and ignoring all of seasons 4 and 5), I'm very well aware that Adrienette's kids are supposedly going to be Louis, Hugo, and Emma. Now tell me, what could Emma be short for? That's right, Telemachus. So hear me out - Adrien was drafted into the war *Before* Emma was born, so he never knew he had a daughter and his last request for his child was to name them Telemachus. But when she was born a girl, she was nicknamed Emma. Hugo and Louis don't exist in this version, obviously.

So we have our main family, what about everyone else? Well, we have Adrian's two crewmates, Polites and Eurilochus. Or in this case, Nino and Felix. Nino is his friend who fought at his side and is tragically killed along the ride back, causing Adrian to go into a spiral of grief, whereas Felix is his somewhat suspicious and angry second in command who can't understand why Adrien is being so reckless with his own life and that of the crew to get back to his wife and child. So eventually he starts straight up sabotaging the trip to try and get through to Adrien, which doesn't ever work because when Adrien is in love, he doesn't notice other people.

As for the people they meet on their travels:

Circe is Lila - this one feels pretty self explanatory, except for the fact that Lila would never care that much about the nymphs around her, so I'm thinking she lives alone on the island and basically functions as a non-water siren - she draws men in with comfort and beauty and then turns them into pigs.

The wind god Aeolus is just Trixx - they're weird and whimsical and would absolutely give someone a bag of wind with the word "gold" written on it.

Calypso is Chloe, left there alone on this island for "protection" from her overbearing father, a minor deity. Again, this just kind of makes sense in my brain. And she gets a little bit of a redemption when she finally willingly lets Adrien go home.

When the crew of the ship go down into the underworld, they meet "Tyresius", who in this case is Master Fu. Weird cryptic old wise guy who's maybe dead? Yeah. That fits.

And finally we have the deities themselves. Like I said, Trixx is already accounted for, so we have three main ones - Posideon, Athena, and Hermes.

Posideon is most definitely ShadowMoth - not really any meaning behind this, we're just making him mysterious and powerful and angry at Adrien for seemingly no reason. But he's doing his best to keep this man from reaching home, possibly because early in the journey, Adrien was instrumental in killing a sentimonster, which canonically is kind of a piece of the creator.

Athena and Hermes are two of a pair - Tikki and Plagg, obviously. Wisdom and trickery, sounds just about right to me.

House of Anubis x Miraculous Ladybug AU

Okay hear me out because I’ve thought about this for a long time. It’s not a crossover fic so much as it’s what HOA would have been like if it were set in a Miraculous-like universe.

Quick overview for those who don’t know the mechanics of Miraculous Ladybug:

There are items of jewelry called Miraculouses, that grant whoever holds them powers to become heroes and/or villains. These powers come from the kwamis attached to the miraculouses.

Kwamis are like tiny, super-powerful immortal deities that take after animals in the world and who represent different abstract ideas about the universe (ie. creation, destruction, illusion, subjugation, etc.)

The Ladybug (creation) and Black Cat (destruction) miraculouses are the most powerful, and when combined together, grant the holder a wish. However, this wish comes with a disastrous consequence to keep the balance. So basically, only someone lacking a lot of empathy would ever want to commit such a selfish act.

The Butterfly Miraculous (transmission) is able to grant regular people powers to create temporary superheroes/supervillains through an “akumatized” object. However, in Miraculous Ladybug, this miraculous has been stolen and used for evil, preying on the negative emotions of the people of Paris to create destructive villains. Hawkmoth/Shadowmoth, the holder fo the butterfly, is using the miraculous to lure out the holders of the ladybug and black cat miraculouses so he can make the wish.

However, only the ladybug miraculous can purify an akuma and restore the damage caused by it.

Okay so now that we have the basics down, let’s get into the AU:

Nina Martin arrives at school to a pretty normal existence. Joy hasn’t disappeared, everyone’s either friendly or largely indifferent to her presence, but overall it’s pretty chill.

That is, until Nina runs into Sarah, who is spouting nonsense about a man who is about to attack the school and town at large to get the miraculouses. She rambles in about how the man with the butterflies mustn’t find her miraculous, and passes off the earrings of the ladybug to Nina.

Thinking she’s crazy, Nina accepts the earrings hesitantly and helps Sarah back to the nursing home. When she gets home, however, and actually looks at the earrings, a tiny kwami flies out and introduces herself as Tikki, the ladybug kwami. Once she calms Nina down, Nina accepts the miraculous and becomes a superhero. However, she must keep her identity a secret from everyone in the house.

Soon after this, a supervillain by the name of Metamorphosis akumatizes Mick Campbell into a villain after he gets angry with Alfie for making moves on his girlfriend.

Tikki explains her powers and also that she’s meant to have a partner in the black cat miraculous, but she senses it’s not active at the time. She assures Nina it’s okay though because the ladybug miraculous can cure any damage caused by the akumas.

So Nina transforms into the hero Ladybug and goes out to fight her akumatized housemate.

Understandably, everyone is freaking out because what the fuck is happening, why did Mick suddenly turn into a giant monster? However, Nina as Ladybug manages to defeat him and purify his akuma, restoring the damage done to the surrounding area and saving Mick.

Everyone is super in awe of Ladybug and she becomes a bit of a celebrity, but no one knows it’s secretly Nina.

Metamorphosis continues to terrorize the school and surrounding town, always sending his akumatized villains after the ladybug miraculous. He’s desperate to get his hands on the black cat too, but that miraculous remains at large.

A year passes, and Nina is growing closer with Fabian, and the two clearly like each other, but Nina can’t fully commit because she’s keeping such a massive secret.

Mara, Joy, and Patricia all run the school website that has become pretty much the Ladyblog, and it’s pretty well known around the world as the best source about Ladybug and the akumas, a site dedicated to theories, recaps, etc.

Up until now, we have no idea who Metamorphosis is, but Nina has a suspicion about Victor.

Eddie joins the school about a year after everything started going down, and is shocked when Victor calls him into his office and reluctantly hands him a box. Inside, is the black cat miraculous.

Victor explains that he knows Metamorphosis’ identity as Rufus Zeno, the former holder of the black cat miraculous. He confides that because the black cat and ladybug are two halves of the same whole, they’re meant to fight side by side.

When Eddie asks why him, Victor reveals that Rufus had once been the black cat, and Victor himself had been the holder of the butterfly and turtle miraculous. In Sarah-as-Ladybug’s final battle, Rufus turned on her and she was forced to defeat him in combat with Victor’s help. In the battle, Rufus managed to take Victor’s miraculous, but not before Sarah managed to take his. He escaped, though, and the black cat was given to Victor to take care of. For a while, Eric Sweet kept it safe, but eventually gave it back to Victor when he felt he wasn’t worthy.

Victor continues to use the Turtle miraculous which is why he hasn’t aged.

Now it falls to him, as he has all the makings of a true black cat. He explains he can’t tell anyone his identity, and he readily agrees.

“Who is Ladybug then? Do you know?”

“No. Sarah was forced to hide after her adopted brother turned on her. I have not spoken with her in many years. But she must have picked a worthy successor.”

Cue insane identity shenanigans bc Nina and Eddie are living under the same roof, are barely friends irl, trying to navigate their own relationships, while also having to avoid being sussed out by their housemates who run a blog dedicated to everything about their alter-ego, and also any time anyone in the area gets upset ever, there is a monster to fight.

There’s def more I could do with this AU, but here’s the barebones. Do with this what you will 🐞🐈‍⬛

A Link Too Young AU

Help. I keep thinking up AUs I got a ton of stuff not even finished. So here's another one cause I might as well. This revolves around Legend of Zelda, Hyrule Warriors concept and Linked Universe AU by Jojo.

Basically it revolves around an iteration of Link getting dragged into the insanity but there's one problem. Said chosen is a 6 year old who doesn't want anything to do with this. Too bad Hylia says desperate times call for super desperate measures.

Thankfully this young Link has a protector(s) that can do all the fighting instead while the boy gets some semblance of a childhood during this war. Now the protector can be canon or OC characters from different series.

Reason being this is an AU idea that everyone can try their hand at than just me. Cause let's face it, we all like messing with any iteration of this hero especially when it comes to fluff, angst or trauma. Also the whole big brother dynamic with the other Links.

I already got a bunch of ideas for this involving at least four OCs and two different canon characters. Starting with the OCs...

Tikki Cho

A Glitch Type Rabbit Yaoguai and owner of the Sweet Healing Bakery. The Link she raises is actually her biological son so he's also a rabbit who inherited her Mimic traits as well. He was born from a magical mishap so he doesn't have a biological father. His nickname is 'Sweet' since the kid is just that, a sweet young man.

Tikki and Sweet get dragged in by Dark Link into Wild's Hyrule. Said mother rabbit practically throttling every monster that got too close to her bunny before the group comes across the two. Might have a possible pairing with Fierce Deity (who I'll call Valion) or least likely Time. Sweet will definitely call either one dad so 💁.

Jodoc (Old Picture)

An amnesiac Joestar and Stand User of Three Days Grace. Jodoc is his Link's older foster brother/current guardian. This strange man teaches his little brother how to use Spin and Hamon but works as a part time musician. Link's nickname is 'Sunshine' since whenever the kid uses Hamon, his brown hair turns sun blonde. (Kid in the pic isn't Link.)

Jodoc and Sunshine get involved when a group of Bokoblins kidnaps the latter with the Joestar in pursuit. They end up in Warrior's Hyrule where Time manages to save Sunshine before his kidnappers got far. Sunshine awakens a Stand during this situation which ends up freeing the Fierce Deity from his mask prison. Found Family dynamic so no pairings.

Fizzy Pop

Owner of the Sugarpop Bakery, twin sister of Lola Pop and ARMS fighter. Fizzy is a widow and Link's biological mother so he inherited his blue hair but also ARMS' gene from her. His ARMs basis being that of a lock and chains which gave him the nickname 'Spiral'.

Fizzy and Spiral get involved with the group by being unceremoniously dropped into Termina's Clock Town. Wind finds Spiral playing with the Bomber Kids which leads the group to run across his mother selling pastries. Fizzy and Valion pairing since the Fighter sees the Links as sons.

Chimeris

Songstress of Wonderworld Theatre and Neutral Type Maestro. Chimeris adopted her Link when he was just a baby. This Link wants to be a musician for the theatre when he grows up which earns him the nickname 'Tempo'.

Chimeris and Tempo get involved when Dark Link breaks into the theatre. The two are dragged into Ancient Cistern and thankfully Sky spots them being attacked by the shadow from his Loftwing with the rest of the group arriving just in time to help. Possible pairing with Valion as Chimeris ends up being the mom figure for the group.

For canon characters at the moment...

Sun Wukong (Adventures From China)

One iteration of the legendary Victorious Fighting Buddha and Great Sage Equal To Heaven, Sun Wukong. The group already has one (trapped) god on their team alongside an experience with monkeys at some point. Why not drop a two in one deal.

Debating whether Link will be a human or an monkey yaoguai, he's definitely getting immortality though while he's cared for by the Monkey King. His nickname in the group is 'MP', short Monkey Prince. The group encounter the duo upon landing on Mount Huagao which is Sun Wukong's domain. No pairings just a lot of found family and monkey shenanigans.

Lunagaron (Frostfang)

Moonlight Nocture and one of the Three Lords, Lunagaron. This particular Fang Wyvern known as Frostfang to the locals is mildly docile around humans. She won't attack unless provoked. Link is a feral child who she raised as if he was one of her cubs. Unlike any normal human, this iteration of the hero was born with transformation magic similar to Twilight's wolf form but more akin to his Lunagaron mother in appearance. This Link's nickname is 'Snow' due to his white hair.

Frostfang and Snow get involved when Dark Link kidnaps the feral boy, a chase that leads to Kakariko Village in Time's era. Wild was able to save Snow while Twilight calmed down the berserk Lunagaron mother before she could cause any damage. Full on found family with mother wolf and Fierce Dadity. Oh alongside a shit ton of language barriers cause Snow can barely understand any non-monster speech.

Sweet and Spiral

Miraculous Ladybug AU: HorrorMagic

The AU whereas there’s two different types of magic: Miraculous Magic and Supernatural Magic.

Miraculous Magic typically involved with Kwamis aka Deities of Concepts, Superheroes gigs and miraculous stuffs.

Supernatural Magic, however, involved with things that’s related to supernatural things.

Supernatural Magic is divided into three categories.

Classic Supernatural, Paranormal, and Preternatural.

Classic supernatural is your traditional/typical classic creatures, such as vampires, werewolves, witches, etc.

Paranormal is a whole category for ghosts, demonology and spiritual-related things. For example, White Ladies, Demons, Malevolent Spirits, etc.

Preternatural is a different category. They are for creatures that have horrific form that not even humans can comprehend or horrific creatures. A prefect example for preternatural is Eldritch Abominations(I prefer to call them Eldritch Horror). Lovecraftian creatures also falls into this category as well.

(More below the readmore because it gets really long)

Classic Supernatural(I would refer as C.Supernatural) and Preternatural are known for their lifetime rivalry.

Miraculous Magic and Supernatural Magic are usually don’t get along well during to their different perceptions of the moral codes. However, they can coexist together.

So, it might be unusually for someone from supernatural categories to wields a miraculous but it’s not a big deal for both sides.

Marinette Dupain-Cheng is a healing witch that occasionally dabbled with black magic. She got to wield Ladybug miraculous. Tikki don’t know how to feel about the fact that Marinette is C.Supernatural but she doesn’t pay too much attention to it.

At least until, Tikki discovered that Marinette meet up with someone that was completely unexpected.

Enter, Rose Lavillent whom seems like a normal human at first but she is actually a preternatural creature. She have two different forms that she can transform into; Human form and Eldritch form.

She have another title for her Eldritch form; The Smiling Centipede.

Rose have a huge knowledge of different types of magics under C.Supernatural category(Where did she learns about these types of magic from? No one knows but Rose.) so she ended up tutoring Marinette.

On the other hand, Adrien is the completely normal human that was a wielder of Black Cat miraculous have discovered the Couffaine family’s secret; they’re all Vampires.

Adrien is willingly to keep their secret as long as they explain Supernatural Magic to him. (Plagg is might or might not miffed by that fact.)

Miss Bustier’s Class(aka Akuma Class or Miraculous Class) is mixed with humans and supernatural creatures. (I would make a list soon.)

Unknowingly for everyone in the class, there are two new villains that isn’t Hawkmoth or Lila among the shadows.

Submitted prompt: Not so fast, "destiny"

One thing that I realized when I watched this show is how it isn't trying to justify the fact that children are practically sent to fight a freaking magical terrorist and it's portrayed as "awesome", at least until the writers want to torment Marinette. (sory for any typos or errors, english is not my first, hope this prompt is good and doesn't break the rules)

So, AU in which it's not Marinette who gets the Ladybug earrings, but another teenager who saved Fu before she does, and while they do end up dealing with Stoneheart, it's not just because of selfishness, but also from how fast their entire life is crashing down on them.

In a single day, they saw a boy turn into an akuma, found out that magic is real, and that there are deities that give power to people via a magical jewelry, and finally they are apparently "chosen" to save the world from a f*cking magical terrorist with no training or preparation whatsoever.

Does this sound like something a normal person can easily accept right away? Especially if there's nothing for them to earn as compensation for going out of their way to do something that wass practically forced on them?

So after they finish the fight and the teen get enough time to process even the slightest thing, they talk to Tikki to fully understand what the hell they are forced to do, and the answers... are not comforting in the least.

"So to sum this whole situation, I was 'chosen' to be a superhero whose job is dealing with the minions of a butterfly-themed villain who has the power to possess and mind-control people when they have negative emotions and turns them into supervillains, and I need to purify the akumas and fix the damage dealt, right?"

Tikki just nods while smiling.

"Ok, so what's in it for me?"

The question causes Tikki to blink and she asks "What?"

"I said, what's in it for me? What do I get from dealing with the supervillain? Can I use your power to help my daily life, and such?"

Tikki's eyes widen at the question and what the teen is hinting at.

"But... It's a selfless work! The miraculouses shouldn't be used for selfish reasons!"

The teen just glares at her.

"Fine, let me explain things better to you. What do I -a kid who was not training, who is living a normal life, and whose biggest challenges before you came is to deal with school- get from practically sacrificing my own life, both socially, academically, and literally for the sake of fighting a supervillain? What kind of compensation do I get for this? And no, regardless of how 'selfish' you think it is, it's not selfish of me to want nothing with this whole fighting against a terrorist situation."

"But I thought you were a good person! Why wouldn't you help!?"

Tikki was shocked by this development.

She was used at having her holders not worrying too much about the idea of fighting villains. She did not think that the reason for that was because the times of before were way different from the current era, or that almost al her previous holders were either part of the temple of the guardians or related to it.

Never in her life had she needed to deal with someone who was actually refusing to help people, let alone actually bringing strong arguments to crush her worldview.

The teen's expression softened.

"Being nice doesn't mean being an idiot or suicidal. Even if I did help and fight the akumas, what am I supposed to do when my civilian life gets ruined thanks to this? Can you help me when I fail in school tests due to fighting supervillains, or when I lose all my friends thanks to that?"

Tikki had no answer to that.

That was sadly beyond her ability to process.

She thought it was simple, that her holder will gladly decide to help, while the reality was anythnig but that.

The world had changed differenttly, it seemed, and the population are no longer capable off simply throwing everything else for the sake of doing a job that wa practically forced on them.

How foofish of her, and Fu to think that a child will gladly fight supervillains just like that.

"I will try to do as you want for now and fight the villain for the time being, but make no mistake, I don't think I am fit for this, and we need to find someone else more capable to deal with this, preferably a competent adult. Children were not supposed to fight in wars. I just hope we find a good person..."

Tikki simply nodded.

She couldn't do anything else in face of the harsh truth she was forced to see right now.

Yeah, this prompt was born from how some fics practically glorify the idea of child soldiers.

I get that sometimes the child in question will be unable to do anything but keep fighting even if they hated it, but the Miraculous Ladybug show... they really don't need to.

Their magical powers are literally given to them by magical jewels that can be worn by anyone, children and adults alike.

Literally, there's no reason for Marinette (except her 'it is all my responsibility' mentality) to not simply... give her miraculous to an adult, especially after everything she had to deal with.

Adrien is literally treating the whole thing as a game and that's why he doesn't simply give the ring to someone more qualified and responsible.

The entire thing reminds me of how in war times some countries will literally break the homes of civilians to shove them into their army with no warning at all. That makes me so angry.

day 13/14: god/dess au/reincarnation

[Short Excerpt]

Tim was not a lucky god. No that was Tikki, the primordial kwami of luck and creation. She and her fellow kwami spend most of their time bound to jewelry, mingling with mortals, occasionally butting into mortal affairs. The Judiciary gods find it better to watch the mortals from afar or incognito among them. But that's beside the point.

Tim, Bruce and Damian all chose a domain, well they drew straws and Tim got the short one. Bruce got the Heavens, Damian got the sea, and Tim got the Underworld. He had to review memos and paperwork to make sure each soul is were it is supposed to be. He also has to meet with special souls, like ones sent to the Isles of the Blessed, the souls of maidens who were vessels for the spirit of Delphi to make sure they safely get to Elysium per Dick's request, etc. But today is a good day. He finished all of the paperwork and he had no souls to met with today.

"Hey Timbo, you got someone to meet with." Said Jason after he barged into his office.

Good Heavens, he just can't catch a break, can he.

~ I got a little lazy so I am just going to explain the idea in bullet points

Mari is a reincarnating soul because of her connection to the Kwami, she is one of the spirits of the Guardians she gets reborn and is fated to become a guardian

Jason is Thanatos (god of death), the guy who makes sure soul travel to the Underworld. He has been doing it since the beginning of time, there was no order in the Underworld, he just threw them in and left to fetch the next soul. I want to say that he was god of war first before something happened and he transition to god of death

Tim is Hades, he does the paperwork and shit. He has to meet with special souls. Bart is Minos the judge of the final vote, Cassie is Hecate, and Conner is Charon. He spends most of his time in his office. And even though he is an immortal he found himself addicted to the mortal concoction called Coffee.

Tim and Jason are on good terms

Bruce is Zeus, who has gotten over his playboy antics, Talia is a nymph or something. Alfred is a mortal turned god lieutenant by Bruce and takes the form of old man because he constantly feels like one because of Bruce's shit.

Dick is a combination of Apollo, Hermes, and Aphrodite.

Damian is Poseidon

Babs is Athena, Cass is Artemis, Steph is Hestia. Duke is Erebus (god of darkness), a minor god who spends time with in the Heavens he is a little insecure about if he belongs there or not but it's getting better.

I called them the Judiciary Gods because Justice league.

SO the idea was that Mari was a primordial spirit and has died a lot, before the gods happened. She has died a lot and has met Jason on several occasions and are friends.

When Tim first takes the Underworld she had just gotten reborn so he has time to settle in before they met.

So when they do met Jason stays behind to watch the fireworks.

She comments about how much the place has changed and Tim is like '???? what? you haven't been here before??? how would you know??'

She explains that she is a Guardian spirit and since he is now the guy in charge of the Underworld she had to check with him before she got reborn.

He was like, 'bruh, why?'. neither had an answer.

So anyways, life went on and they spent a considerable amount of time together. She would spend as little as a couple of minutes in the Underworld to almost a century. At some point she started staying in his palace. They start to get the feels (if you know what I mean ;))

Imagine the fams confusion when they run into a spirit in Tim castle during an impromptu visit

Mari: *drinking coffee and completely under the impression that she's hallucination* Hey, Kon. Hey, Cassie. Hey, Bart.

Mari: *looks over* Did you guys, like, multiply?

Batfam: *has no idea who the fuck this woman is, she doesn't feel like a deity but they could be wrong*

Dick: Timmy?

Tim: *stopped immediately after seeing this* There, there is a perfectly reasonable explanation for this.

Jason, Kon, Cassie, & Bart: *snickering in the background at the chaos*

Their affair goes on for a while and while they like their little get togethers they no it's not healthy. So Tim clears it with Bruce and offers her immortality and to be his wife. She's a little skittish and askes for a while to think it over.

the kwami give her their blessing to do it and she excepts.

She becomes the immortal liaison between the Judiciary gods and the kwami

They live happily ever after.

She’s feral on both sides now :}

you see the especially fun thing about that is, in the raw feralnette au, marinette essentially drives away all her friends (for their own good, she argues) while in the Ladybug Deity au, marinette distances herself from chat noir in an attempt to keep him safe from hawkmoth (for his own safety, she argues)

so what you get in a combo au is a buginette who has successfully taken back hawkmoth and mayura's miraculi! at the cost of absolutely everything.

the issue is, chat noir is also stubborn and has no idea what happened to his lady OR hawkmoth, he's totally out of the loop. he does eventually find Ladybug, but feels terrible about what's happened. he wishes he had been there to help her, because she's no less a hero or a person to him, even after all this.

the upside to this is that the spell between tikki and marinette CAN wear off! however, it takes the same amount of time to wear off as it took to get to this point, which is, give or take, about half a year, and she has to not use her miraculous ladybug abilities for that entire duration, or it'll re-trigger the transformation.

Luckily, since his father and his guardian are in prison, (he's told it was tax evasion, a cover-up the Ladybug told the authorities to leak out to hide the scandal and protect Adrien) an old friend of the family on Adrien's mother's side successfully slipped in to help finish his upbringing.

This Jewelry Will End Up Killing Me - Prologue

So guess who decided to make the first chapter to a Daminette Konosuba AU. I’m using the world and rules of it more so than the characters, but this would definitely be more comedic than my other two fan fictions. If I get good feedback, I might continue it. This is just the world set up.

Damian stirred a bit and struggled to open his eyes. The light coming from below him made him flinch as he struggled to adjust to the brightness. “Oh good, you’re coming to.”

“Huh?” His vision began to focus a bit more and he noticed he was in a dark space with no one around but a lone woman. She sat in a throne and folded her hands over her lap. She smiled kindly at him, but her eyes were filled with pity. “What?”

“Do you know who you are?”

He thought for a moment and nodded, “My name is Damian Wayne.”

“Anything else?” He thought a bit more before she asked, “Do you remember how you died?”

“I died?” Suddenly memories came flooding back to him. He was with his family. They were on a mission. Something went wrong. Terribly, terribly wrong. He noted how he was still wearing his uniform but was surprised it was undamaged. He placed a hand over his abdomen and shuttered, “I don’t think my body was intact.”

“No, but you died quickly. It was merciful and for that I am thankful.” She placed her hand over her heart and sighed, “You left your world too soon. You have transformed so much. You’ve grown to be such a fine young man.” She frowned, “I’m so sorry for you and your family’s loss. They are still fighting, but they mourn.”

Damian tensed, “Wait! My family! They need me! I need to go back!”

“I cannot do that.” She held out her hand, “Damian, I am the goddess of creation. My name is Tikki. I am here to assist you in your passing.”

“My passing?”

“Yes.”

“I’m not ready to go yet!”

“I may reincarnate you, but you would not remember your past life. You will start anew.”

“I can’t do that either! I have to get back to them right now!”

She bit her lip, “There is one way, but I do not recommend it.”

“Tell me.”

She waved her hand and a book appeared before it floated down in front of her. The book opened and pages started flying out of the bindings. The pages flew around the two before lining up in front of him. “In another world, one very different from yours, we have had a problem with who we call Hawkmoth. The people of the world call him a demon who controls people through their emotions, but we gods and goddesses know the truth.” He noted how her fists clenched as she spoke of him, “The Demon King was like you, but bitter. The Demon King stole the powers of one of our own and now we can no longer stop him. We haven’t even been able to watch over him. Our information on the Demon King has been significantly restricted.”

“How restricted?”

“Our line of information and communication to Nooroo was severed 18 years ago.”

Damian grimaced, “What can I do?”

She bit her lip before proceeding, “Us deities have decided we would grant any wish to the hero who brings this man down. This is your only chance at resurrecting at the exact place and time when you died.”

“I’ll take it.”

“Damian-”

“I’ll take it. I’ve faced aliens, magic, and literal demons from hell. With my history, I can do it. I can’t leave my family.”

Tikki nodded and pointed at the pages between them, “You may take one thing with you to this new world. Along with this, you will continue to have your memories and will gain knowledge of the language to help you integrate better.”

He looked at the pages and noted how odd each of the items were, “What kind of world is this?”

“In your world, the best comparison is what your people call ‘Dungeons and Dragons’ or ‘RPGs’. This world is older, magic and monsters run amok, nobles and monarchy are the norm leadership, and leveling is the only way to power up in your classes.” She chuckled, “It may be an exciting world for you to learn new skills and magic you never would’ve in your world.”

“Magic? Monsters? Sounds like a bad videogame, but something I can work with.” He turned his attention back to the pages in front of him. He examined each one; a sword, a staff, a suit of special armor, and much more. Still, despite all the perks and charms, nothing seemed quite right. “I can’t use any of these.”

“Hm?”

“I can’t use any of these.” He pushed the pages away to look her in the eye, “If I’m going to take on someone using a deity’s power, I’m going to need a deity’s power too.” Damian sighed, “I need your power.”

Tikki smiled and hummed, “You were always a smart one. Always one to look at all the right angles.” She sighed and looked at her lap, “I cannot give you too much for obvious reasons but what I can give you is a tool made by my power.” She held out her hand and a glowing orb appeared in her palm. She placed her other hand over it and squeezed hard before opening her hands. She blew onto the orb and Damian watched as the orb faded away until what was left was a pair of earrings. “If you use this, you will be able to transform and use some of my power. However, if you find one of my direct decedents, they will be able to tap into my true powers and you will never fail.”

She hummed a sweet tune and the ground below him started glowing, “Damian Wayne, you will awaken in the town of crossroads where you will be guided by a fairy of my own essence. Keep her safe and she will guide you both to glory and to reliable party members. I will speak to the others. More tools of our own creation will fall before you as you continue your quest.”

He nodded and noticed how the floor below him began glowing. A wall of light circled him and he began levitating, “Tikki?”

“With the blessing directly from the goddess of creation, I send you off. Please, Damian, do not die.”

He nodded, “I’ll do my best. Watch over my family.”

“Of course.” The light became blinding and he felt his body fade away as he reincarnated. The last thing he heard was a simple “good luck” before he woke up on a bench. He looked around and Tikki was right, this really was a Dungeons and Dragons type of world. Horse-drawn carriages passed him by along with men and women all in medieval-looking armor and clothing. No real technology, but the world’s civilization seemed advanced enough for him to grasp the probable concepts and rules. He noticed how some people began crowding around him and whispering. He looked down and realized his clothing was probably making him stand out, “Right. Now, where do I go?”

He felt a tap on his side and opened up his cape slightly. A large red and black fairy hid behind the clothing but smiled. He was comforted by the company and began walking. “Okay. Where do I go fairy?”

He felt the creature travel up to his hoodie and it whispered in his ear, “You can call me Tikki. I am part of her after all.” He nodded and she peeked at the town around her, “Okay, you will want to go to the adventure’s guild. Receive your class and skillset and register yourself as an adventurer.”

“Should I hide my identity?”

She shook her head, “You do not need to hide your identity here. This is a new world and your real name will be on the registration card. Besides, with your standing and background, you may pass as some kind of noble. You could use that to your advantage as you work your way through this world and gain skill points.”

“Skill points? Are you serious?”

“Yes, it is the only way for us to gain enough strength and resources later.” He rolled his eyes and followed her directions while taking in the sights. The place came out of a storybook and it seemed the currency resembled gold. He’d need to ask Tikki how to get money. He felt someone staring at him and looked around before noticing a girl staring at him outside of a bakery. Once they locked eyes she visibly tensed. “I sense someone of great importance.”

“Huh? Where?”

“I don’t know.”

He scanned the area some more, but his sights kept locking back onto the girl staring at him. He could tell his fuse was getting short and it was obvious she wasn’t going to stop any time soon. He grumbled and finally stomped over. She flinched and stepped back while turning her attention anywhere else. “Hey! What do you want from me?”

“Eh? I wasn’t- I mean, I didn’t- I mean, what are you talking about?” She laughed nervously and rubbed the back of her neck, but he clearly wasn’t buying it. When she realized that wasn’t going to work she started apologizing profusely, “I’m sorry! I’m sorry! I don’t usually stare at strangers! I’m sorry!”

He sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose, “What do you want?”

“It’s just-”

“Spit it out!”

“I’ve never seen anyone with your clothes before and I’m a designer and-”

He snapped at her, “Then take a picture!”

She blinked, “A what?”

He flinched. A camera may not even be a concept in this world yet, “Ah, um, right. Never mind.”

She nodded and smiled, “May I draw it at least?”

Tikki tugged at his hoodie and he shook his head, “I need to register as an adventurer right away.”

She perked up, “Wait!” She stepped forward and leaned in, “You’re going to the adventure’s guild?” He stepped back but she continued to be persistent, “Can I come?”

“Now why would a little girl like you want to go?”

She puffed up her cheeks, “Hey! I bet we’re not even that far apart in age from each other! Just because I wear pigtails doesn’t mean I’m little!”

“I didn’t say anything about your pigtails.”

She blushed and pulled at them slightly, “Sorry. Everyone mentions them so it’s a habit.” She shook her head, “But, please! I want to look at the armor of the new adventurers! My lady-”

“MARINETTE!” The girl in front of him flinched. The two turned to see a blond girl strutting towards them. She was pulling another blonde behind her with a trail of servants. The girl next to him, presumably Marinette, hid behind him.

Her voice wavered, “Oh, hello Lady Bourgeois. Mister Agreste.”

The boy being pulled around laughed, “Sorry Marinette. I tried to hold her back.”

Lady Bourgeois stopped in front of him and seemed to size him up, “And who are you? Where are you from?”

If this was a noblewoman, to get anywhere with her he needed her to see him as an equal. Tikki continued to vibrate meaning the person of interest was extremely close. Right now, he needed to level with this girl. “I am the only blood son of the Wayne enterprises in a land called Gotham. I set out on my own to help my family. My name is Damian Wayne.” He bowed and silently thanked his father and mother for teaching him to speak as a nobleman. Business meetings and galas were incredible practice for this. The man seemed to buy it, but the lady seemed skeptical.

“I have never heard of Gotham.”

“Chloe, please. He seems genuine.”

“Adrikins-”

“Please don’t call me that.”

“I’m looking for the adventure’s guild. If you could, I would be grateful for any help.” He hated the helpless act but if these people were noble then they had money. He needed money.

“Gross, why go to a building filled with a bunch of sweaty filthy warriors?” She sighed, “But alright. Fine. Marinette!”

Marinette stood as stiff as a board, “Y-Yes?”

“You’ll be his guide.” Chloe snapped her fingers and a servant ran up to her with a small pouch in his hands. She pointed at him and the man presented the pouch with a bow, “As an offering between one noble to another. I hope to see you soon and out of those awful clothes. Honestly, my goddess would smite you down if you showed up at her temple like that.”

“I don’t know. I like them.” Adrien grinned and sent him a thumbs up, “Don’t you think, Marinette?”

As soon as he addressed her she jumped, “Y-Yeah! His awesome are clothes! I mean, his are awesome clothes! I mean-”

Damian closed his eyes and sighed, “Let’s go, Marinette.” She nodded and looked at him with complete gratitude. She mouthed a silent “thank you” and he nodded. This was easier for both of them. “Once I’ve registered I’ll find you. I’d be honored to learn more about this land from you all.”

Chloe seemed pleased by his manners and he turned away with a simple wave. Adrien sent him as salute and wink before turning back. Once they were fully departed, he relaxed a bit and sighed. “Marinette was it?”

She nodded, “Marinette Dupain-Cheng.”

The first and most enduring casualty of child abuse is trust.

Adrien cannot trust adults. Every adult he has regular contact with (excepting Madame Bustier and perhaps other teachers?) uses him. They want something from him. And they regularly violate his trust.

His father only interacts with him when he is angry with him or he wants something from him for his business. Nathalie and the Gorilla are paid to take care of him, whatever other feelings they may have, and their loyalty is to his father, not him. The photographers he deals with are using him for their careers and his father’s. Etc. etc.

Plagg. Let’s be honest, Plagg is a trickster deity. Yes, we all love the little shit, and Adrien does as well, but the relationship between him and Adrien is not built on trust. Tikki and Marinette have that sort of bond. Plagg and Adrien do not. Plagg is a manipulative little shit: not malicious, not evil, but let’s face it, he’s a greedy, lazy little beggar. (This is why Kwami-swap AUs are so much fun to play with.) He has also been far less open about the big picture with him than Tikki has been with Marinette.

Master Fu? He has a chance to be that adult, now. He should have been that adult earlier. Adrien needs a mentor. He’s been mentoring Ladybug, but leaving Chat Noir out on the end of a limb. Let’s hope that, going forward, he becomes the stable adult presence that Adrien needs.

Adrien trusts Ladybug. Ladybug does not know, may not even be able to understand (she is only 14, after all!) just how very important and unusual that is. Adrien, who has not been able to trust anyone since–we may assume–his mother left, trusts Ladybug with his life. Implicitly. Without question. He is making himself utterly vulnerable to her. Jump off a building? OK. I trust you to catch me.

Poor kid is so starved for someone to trust that when he finds someone he feels he can trust, he goes overboard. Without a life jacket.

Please just believe me on this: I have been there. And no, it wasn’t healthy. Getting past it was painful, for me and for others.

She does not know that Chat Noir and Adrien are the same. She does not realize how difficult it is for Chat to trust, and how much he does trust her. Not recognizing this, she is unable to either return that trust fully OR work around it. The concepts are foreign to her: she has been raised in a loving environment, she trusts her parents (which probably makes keeping the Miraculous secret all the harder on her), and she has no frame of reference for living without someone she can rely on. Who won’t betray her.

What am I trying to say here?

Watch the victim-blaming, dammit!

Yes, Adrien has some growing to do. He’s 14, he would be a bit immature in any case. Throw in abuse that is tacitly sanctioned by society, a lack of any adult he can trust….

And you all bitch and moan because Mr. Perfection has trust issues. Because he is clinging to the one person, the ONE person in the WHOLE WORLD, he feels he can TRUST.

Seriously, if you saw a dog that snapped at anyone who came near or refused to trust humans, you would say, “Aww, poor doggy, who treated him so badly?” But you are quite willing to kick an abused cat, here, who is doing his best despite what has been done to him.

Yes, he is lashing out and hurting people he cares about. Yes, he is going to have to live with the consequences of that. Still, a little compassion?

Why am I so upset about this discourse?

As I said: I am a survivor of similar treatment. Worse, really. I am 45 years old, now. I still find it difficult to trust people. Especially adults. I spend a lot of time trying to be that adult that the kids and teens around me can trust because I know from experience that I may be the only adult they feel they can trust. (A little help here, guys, a little help please? It’s not hard, and it’s worth doing. Start by listening and not judging.)

So when I watch you dragging a fictional teenager for, basically, being a victim of abuse, I say, “Welp. Can’t trust them!”

And those real-life teenagers are probably thinking the same thing.

Nobody is “dragging Adrien for being a victim of abuse”

People are upset with Adrian and the writers, because Adrien purposefully violates marinette’s boundaries specifically to upset her, he violates every boundary she sets, and sexually harasses her on the daily. He has sexually assaulted her at least once, and every time she tells him to stop, he either escalates the situation, laughs in her face, or does both. You don’t believe me? Re-watch that last scene in Oblivio. Count how many times she tells him to stop. Look at the way he fucking reacts to that. Look at the way he literally laughs in her fucking face.

We are not upset with Adrien because he’s a victim of abuse.

We are upset with Adrien because he is abusing Marinette.

She tells him to stop, so many times it’s not even funny, and he never stops. He punished her not going on a date with him, you even reference Syren, where he threatened to let two million people drown, because she wouldn’t reveal somebody else’s secret identity to him. When he literally did not need to know, and him knowing was not in any way pressing or time-sensitive. He’s entitled little fucking brat and he threw a fucking temper tantrum because he wasn’t getting his way, and he literally threatened to let two million fucking people drown.

Where am I getting the number two million from you ask? That’s how many people live in the city of Paris. And that’s assuming the flooding stopped magically at the edges of Paris.

Adrien fucking threatened to give up his miraculous and quit being a superhero while Paris was flooded up to the rooftops.

He violates every boundary Marinette sets for their relationship. He calls her names and lies about their relationship to others and purposefully does everything he can to upset her. And he laughs in her face when she gets upset with him. He laughs in her face, and tells her it doesn’t matter what she thinks, because they are going to end up together someday.

No one is demonizing Adrian for being a victim of abuse, except for the people saying that because he’s abused he has no choice but to go on to become an abuser himself.

I was also abused, and guess what? It doesn’t excuse anything. It doesn’t make it okay for me to hurt others, it doesn’t make it okay for me to abuse others. It’s not a fucking excuse.

Every single person on this planet has the personal responsibility to be a good person.

Including victims or abuse.Gabriel does not control Adrien’s actions. Just because Gabriel is a piece of shit does not mean that Adrien has no choice in how to act. It is always your responsibility to be a good person. Nobody else can control your actions. Nobody else decides how you treat others except you.If Adrien doesn’t do good things, if he doesn’t treat the people around him with basic human decency, he’s not a good person.

To be a good person, you have to do good things.

Adrien sexually harasses Marinette every chance he gets. He calls her nicknames he knows she hates and lies to people about their relationship every chance he gets. He does things to purposefully piss her off, because he likes seeing her upset, every chance he gets. Adrien Agreste is not a good person.To be a good person, you have to do good things. Being a good person is not some inherent trait that’s just buried and unaffected by everything you do. If you do good things, you are a good person. If you do bad things, you are a bad person.

Being abused does not excuse being an abuser.

I don’t care if you were abused. Because so was I. It doesn’t make it okay for you to treat other people badly. And it doesn’t make it okay for Adrien to act the way he does. Just because you can explain his behavior, does not excuse his behavior.

Every single person on this planet does everything for a reason. Having a reason does not excuse the behavior.

You can’t just fucking try to shut down the conversation by saying that Adrien is abused, therefore if you have a problem with his behavior, you hate victims of abuse. That’s not how it fucking works. Being abused is not a get-out-of-jail-free card for every single horrible thing you do for the rest of your life.

Being abused is not an excuse to abuse other people. It doesn’t make it okay.

Being abused does not make you helpless to control your own actions and how you treat other people.

People aren’t upset with Adrien because he’s being abused. We are upset with Adrien because he is abusing Marinette. End of fucking line.

Stop trying to fucking use the excuse domestic violence perpetrators use. “I was abused, so I have no choice” Is how fucking victims are trapped in relationships with their fucking abusers. Do not fucking use this fucking argument to defend Adrien.

The only people demonizing Adrian for being a victim of abuse are people like you, saying that because he’s abused, he has no choice but to treat other people like shit.

I was abused. It’s still my responsibility, like it is still your responsibility, like it is Adrien’s responsibility, to treat other people with the most basic respect.
