 Sinner's Sazerac

30.43% ABV | Yield: 3.08 fl oz | Themed Cocktail, Fandom Cocktail. Classic, Pre-Prohibition, New Orleans . Improved Cocktail, 19th Century 

2 oz or 60ml Brandy 

2 tsp or 10 ml demerara syrup 

3-5 dashes Peychaud's Aromatic Cocktail Bitters 

1 Lemon twist 

Express oils from lemon peel and regal stir*, strain into chilled neat glass that you have rinsed with or spritzed with absinthe verte.

15.51% ABV | Yield: Approx 1.5 fl oz |  Themed Cocktail, Fandom Cocktail, Champagne Cocktail, Chaser/Back, Shooter

Soak sugar cube with absinthe verte in shot glass or pony glass; To boost color, 1-2 drops of Midori can be used as well. 

Pour brut-style sparkling wine in and serve on a tray next to Sinner’s Sazerac. 

 •Lagniappe[lan-yap] is "a little something extra". Usually, its meant like a little extra something good, a bonus, you know, something to sweeten the deal. What’s sweeter than a spoonful of absinthe and some sugar? 

•Facilier is clearly a Cognac Sazerac guy, I just don’t see the rye version in his hand. But, he's a fraudster. So we use can use American Brandy. Honestly, E&J is ubiquitous in America for barely $10 a bottle, so go with E&J Grand Blue for a sweeter drink, and E&J XO for a easier to sip, “smoother” drink. Alternatively, ignore me and use your favorite Cognac -- I like Ansac VS, the cheap Raynal VSOP blend is amazing, Martell VSOP, and honestly everything I’ve had from ABK6. Hennessy leans more on a bitter orange note than I prefer. Literally, this is a drink designed to feature the spirit and just give a little je ne sais quoi. Pick a brandy you’d like to drink, not just a bottle that had a huge marketing budget.

•The back is essentially Death In The Afternoon scaled down, hence the name, which most literally reads “Return of Death” i.e. -- A Death-Back. Remember, 'brut-style' -- no AOC Champagne required. An extra dry Cava is preferable to a Prosecco here.  Remember -- drink the spirits you like the way you like to drink them, but when it comes to champagne cocktails, you really don’t need to spend much. Its a vehicle, the things you modify with are the drivers. 

For a drink with a sidecar, honestly, it’s totally up to you if you shot the back or if you alternate between sips of the main drink and the shooter. Genuinely, give it a go however you like. I tend to do the latter, and its a great contrast here, but symbolically, shooting the champagne back is more accurate to symbolize how the song goes. 

This is dedicated in part to Doug Ankrah, who created the most defining champagne sidecar drink in the Pornstar Martini. RIP[REST IN PORN] my good dude.

*Regal stir or regal shake is to include a piece of zest in the stage of cocktail creation wherein you are introducing aeration, chilling and dilution to the cocktail. This is essentially lightly muddling it and releases the flavonoids stored in the lipid cells, just like when you twist a piece over a drink -- but this integrates them with more nuance on the tongue as opposed to primarly affecting aroma. 

Why the regal stir for this version? Why -- he’s a royal on his mother’s side, you know.

fascinating can you do janus since you talked about him?

*cracks knuckles* Absolutely!

Janus is deception, deceit in it's finest- a smooth-talking person who keeps everything close to his chest. In canon his outfit hides everything but his face- which are covered in scales, making it easy to overlook everything else when that's distracting enough. BUT! He's also way kinder than people give him credit for and his goals align with wanting to protect and keep them all safe and happy too.

Janus gives me SO many fun vibes, but to me it boils down to "immaculate presentation hiding frustrated only-sort-of-reformed-villain that wants you to treat yourself to extravagant things because you deserve it". He wants to be a good guy but it feels like it's his nature to be a manipulative shit. He is a femme fatale, a bond villain, a sassy aunt who talks shit about everyone, strange caregiver, and aesthetically he is a diva.

Inspiration 1: That video of the guy who is a good guy talking like a villain

His outfit in the series screams villain but he's CONSTANTLY trying to make good reasonable points so this has to be a good place to think about it first.

Inspiration 2: Femme Fatale

Classy and refined, Femme Fatales use their looks and words and charms to get what they want, often at the cost of other people. Janus ultimately is a femme fatale in that he is trying to get what he wants and he tends to be smooth about it (this breaks sometimes but for the most part).

When thinking about Janus, seductive is a word that works well for him. He leans into that enticing seduction. Don't you want this? Don't you want to be like this or do this? Wouldn't it be so nice to be convinced~? While Roman is an effeminate romantic side, Janus is the one not afraid to wear the dresses and be the diva. Honestly he and Roman would be so good together flaunting dramatic diva takes if they could get past their bullshit.

Inspiration 3: Spy movies and heist movies

Janus dresses in a hat and gloves like he doesn't want to get his hands dirty. Spy movies have such a mysterious and enticing feel to them. To me deception isn't just about lying, it's about convincing people that lies are true for the purpose of achieving something. Obtaining something, changing something, doesn't matter which, spies and Janus go hand in hand in my brain. Likewise, heist movies are all about precision and timing and the perfect culmination of a plan coming together. Ultimately this is what Janus WANTS to emulate. What I think he would WANT to be. Convincing and suave and charming about it. Does he come across this way? Not 100% but it's a good place to look.

Inspiration 4: Lion King

Back again with Lion King, but you can't think about Thomas's sides without thinking about Disney. One Disney Villain comes to mind when I think about Janus, and surprisingly it's not Jafar, it is instead Scar. A lion who didn't get the recognition he craved, a lion whose plotting and scheming got him very far. Mark on his face? Check! Smooth-talking? Check! He is more about wits and words than strength and Janus is just like that.

So we have a person who is suave and cunning, talks a big talk, villain-coded, selfish, scheming and wants to help but uses dirty tactics to do so if he has to, all while wearing a very put together outfit.

Inspiration 5: Decadent parties and backroom poker

If Janus has a vice it is partying in excess and living his best life without a care for the consequences other people experience. Old fashioned cocktail parties, wine and booze, illicit backroom poker games and rigged playing cards, gossiping while he drinks his 16th cocktail and yet hiding himself behind a facade of totally having it together.

Inspiration 6: Chess

Janus is always playing a game, and it's a game of wits for everyone he is around. Every word he says and everything he does feels like a plotted out game and everyone else is a player.

Inspiration 8: Biblical stuff

Can't get rid of the biblical iconography with the snake man, but I chose less to look at the snake as "bad evil horrible sinful" and chose instead to look for images I could use to inspire me the opposite way.... angelic figures tending to or being kind with snakes because ultimately a snake granting knowledge isn't necessarily a bad thing to every belief system, so perhaps that vice-chasing isn't so much evil as selfishness is also not evil. A dichotomy that reflects in his scales- they continue down his entire body on that half. They should always be a prominent feature highlighted by the under eye redness. He is not fully human and that should be shown.

Things that became a must for me:

Keeping him fully clothes most of the time. This also gives into the "snakes are cold" vibes.

Must remain sleek and elegant

If he must show skin, the scales have to be shown off

Adding extra features to his outfit- splashes of yellow that remain refined and potentially softer things thrown in to look less threatening under all the outer presentation layers. Even AUs should do this.

Jewelry or accessories must be sleek and minimalist to be less distracting, but overall can be expensive. Hats are allowed to be big but will always slant and will not be too decorated.

Janus must have expressions of suave mystery, enticing allure, or like he's judging your outfit choice.

Hair is not as fluffy or as wavy- simpler and less distracting and cover his human eye because it's not as important.

Often depict him without his hat when trying to make him more approachable- the hat feels like him hiding more. Likewise do the opposite- often depict him cut off in some way to highlight the snake aesthetic and make him seem more mysterious.

So I ended up with this:

To my followers who love her, on the 100th anniversary of Walt Disney Studios, Kitty, (now in her 50s) and her family are invited as the guests of honour to a party for animators and their cartoon characters. Every character ever created by the studio is there. She's hesitant to turn up, she was an animator a long time ago after all but with some encouragement from her family she decides to go. She dresses smartly and to her surprise there is a fancy car waiting for her outside their house. The chauffeur explains that the escort is courtesy of Mickey and Minnie themselves. Maisie excitedly clutches her mother's arm and they arrive to a bustling reception.

She shakes hands with old friends, makes some new connections and embraces the toons she's known and helped since she was young.

•Prince Charming and Cinderella greet her at the staircase and Kitty asks how they and their mice are doing. In response, Jacque-Jacque and Gus run through riding Lucifer the cat like a horse.

•Dumbo swoops overhead and gives her a wave with his trunk.

• Baloo sings on stage with Thomas O'Malley and Scat Cat, dedicating a song to the guests of honour.

•Ariel and Moana are chatting in the foyer and smile brightly as she returns from touching up her make-up.

•She runs into Ursula in there who was reapplying her mousse and gossiping about which Prince and Villain look the most dashing tonight.

•She gets a similar gracious nod from Maleficent and the Wicked Queen.

•Hades pulls on the old "You look familiar kid, do I know you? Ah! Amazon chick, right?"

•She is given a warm reception from the animals: Scar, Shere Khan, Shenzi Banzai and Ed, Kaa, Bagheera, Robin Hood and Little John, Kenai, Iago, Sebastain, Louis, Ray, Bambi, Thumper, Big Bad Wolf, the Three Little Pigs, Nick Wilde and Judy Hopps are just a few of the animal toons she chats with that night.

•Anastasia and Drizella do fangirling over her outfit. They also praise how well she's aged.

•The Genie appears out of a nearby ink well to surprise everyone and when he sees her he gives the biggest smile. "Kitty Hawkins!" *transforms into a cat and a hawk in the space of a second* "I knew it was you Sweetheart, I never forget a face except my own!" *takes off his face* "I'd forget my own head if it wasn't attached!" He lifts it off his shoulders and Ichabod Crane faints.

•Elsa and Anna come up to speak to her when they sense her nerves. Elsa's a bit overwhelmed by the crowds too.

•Bruno Madrigal apologises profusely when one of his rats jump onto her shoulder and is pleasantly surprised when she doesn't mind and even asks how he got on with family group therapy.

•She gets a hug from John Silver.

•Milo Thatch is there with his wife Princess Kidagakash and they talk about languages. In Dutch.

•Mr Smee brings Captain Hook a drink. He's a surprisingly giggly drunk.

•Belle and her have a terrific catch up. She also thanks her very much for helping the Beast become comfortable with his drawn form.

•Lumier helps to watch Maisie and calls her "la petite madamoiselle."

•Merlin knows how to make everyone a good cup of tea and mix cocktails. The Mad Hatter is behaving more erratically than usual.

•Kitty's husband is shaking hands with a lot of anti-heros and even a villain or two. They are incredibly grateful to him for helping them clear their names and turn their lives around.

•Snow White recieves a standing ovation for singing. She invites Asha, the newest Disney character up on stage and gives her a hug to quell her fears about not being welcomed.

•Kitty and Meg roast the executives behind their back.

•At some point in the evening, a cake is wheeled out and Tigger jumps out of it holding a "Happy 100 Years!" sign.

Kitty is sipping her drink and enjoying the armosphere when a hush falls as Mickey and the organisers give a special toast to all who turned up tonight. He thanks Scrooge McDuck for the funding, Tiana's Place for the catering, Daisy Duck for the decorations...suddenly Kitty hears her name. And a round of applause. She's being honoured and thanked by all the cartoons she ever helped mentally and emotionally. Her family are cheering.

"Hooray Honey! Congratulations!"

"Yay Mom!"

She smiles. It's all worth it. It was always worth it.

Death Battle had a lot of fights this season and a lot of great songs. Princess of Pride, Diabolical Invincible Me, Fallen Gods, this was a great year for Death Battle music. And that’s not including the commissioned ones. But starting this year, I am going to disqualify any songs that are Death Battle related so I can have non-Vs songs on this list. Which is why this is an honorable mention. Because it isn’t a Death Battle Related song. Rumor Has it by Adele with Apocalypse smashing Black Adam’s face to the beat was hilarious and I wanted to bring that up.

#10 - Eff this Job by Your Favorite Martian

This year saw the return of Your Favorite Martian. While they have put out some good songs, I don’t think they’re as good as their old work. With one exception: Eff this Job. I can see this song being part of their original releases and being just as fun to listen to then as it is now. So if I could recommend a song from their newest releases, this is the one I am going to highly recommend. 

#9 - Gangstar Torture Dance from Jojo Bizarre Adventure

I’ve seen the memes. I’ve seen the references. But I never saw the original source. And now that I have, I love it! I really need to sit down and watch Jojo one of these days. 

#8 - Nobody’s Fault from Devil Artemis

The first new song I heard this year, released right when I was about to break up Akuma and Lita in my comics. It perfectly captures the reason why I broke them up. While this is a cover, I heard the original and honestly wasn’t a fan of it compared to the Kermit Version. So this was my #1 for a while…

#7 - Caramelldansen Fusion Collab by SilvaGunner

Talk about a song that is packed with Nostalgia. Classic Internet Meme Song, mashed up with the likes of Weird Al, Sonic, Phoenix Wright and other musical styles. Listening to this is like a big shot of nostalgia to the ears.

#6 - It’s Just An by bb-panzu

If I have to criticize Komi Can’t Communicate for one thing, it’s that I’m not hooked on the theme songs. Luckily for me the Friday Night Funkin’ community brought this out. This mod I think perfectly captures the series. And honestly I do love how the song goes from Komi using pencil scratches to do her beeps and boops until later in the song.

#5 - "We Didn't Start the Bizarre" (A JoJo Song Parody) by Riverdude

Of the ever growing reasons for me to watch Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure, possibly the best We Didn’t Start the Fire Parody using the first five parts of Jojo. It perfectly captures the feeling of the original song while bringing up so much about Jojo that I know thanks to Osmosis. If you ever feel like you need a recap, I think this could help.

#4 - Crushing Thirties by the Chalkeaters

2022 has to be Sonic’s best years in recent times. Sonic’s Second Movie is one of the highest grossing Video Game based Movies, IDW Series are getting critical acclaims, Sonic Frontiers brings fresh life to the games, getting so much support it was a contender for Fan Favorites beating even God of War, and the new Netflix Series got a lot of praise. And with this, these people got the lead singer of Crush 40 to sing a Crush 40 style song about Sonic’s 30th Anniversary. Granted, it is tongue and cheek but man, the lyrics have so many references to past Sonic’s songs it’s hard to not love. There’s another song they released that’s more… Questionable. I’ll leave it at that.

#3 - Monster Party from My Little Pony: Tell Your Tale

Pipp Petals is my favorite pony of this new generation. One of the reasons is she’s a horror fan and this song is a great showing of that. It’s also pretty catchy and for me possibly the best song of the series so far. This includes the actual show and the movie. So here’s hoping she continues to prove to be my favorite of G5.

Waiting for this show to actually come out is definitely a pain. Luckily fan content exists to hold us off and this one is one of the best. Really captures the feeling of Pibby what she was before and after this Darkness invasion. If the show is as good as this music video, it will be a hit.

The Skateboarding Cow as a joke. It was fine. But man, this song I think is one of the best to come out from the creators of Asdfmovie Series. The song really makes you really support this Real Man’s goal from being a Cow to a Skateboarding Champion. It also explains he was framed for the murders by that farmer. And honestly, it really is a great song for this year. Something I wish I had more of: determination to achieve your goals. And hopefully with the goals I have for next year, I can prove I am a real man as well.

Disney day 2 was Halloween at Magic Kingdom! We were so exhausted after all of the walking, and such little sleep, but it was time to rise and shine and get dressed up. I was Snow White this year, and Whit did Cruella de Vil. So cute, and fun.

Luckily our hotel served breakfast - albeit, a mediocre breakfast - so we could get some food in our system along with my entire cocktail of pills (I had not been feeling well all week, and had steroids to bring the swelling in my throat down, along with regular cold medication).

Then we were off to another long, wonderful day.

I got my Maleficent churro, but it wasn't quite as amazing as it has been in past years?? Weird?

We spent the most amount of time waiting in photo lines - like photos with the pumpkin, and with characters in Halloween costumes, but that's Whit's favorite part. We talked to Mickey in his pumpkin costume for maybe the first time? And then we met Jack and Sally, and they were super funny talking to Whit as Cruella. She asked them where Zero was, and Jack told her, "Well he won't do you much good, he's already dead."

Indiana Jones or Space Mountain would be my favorite ride in this park, and luckily, we did them both twice. (The second time on Space Mountain was after the fireworks, along with the entire rest of the park.... horrible wait.)

We didn't do Splash Mountain this year, for maybe the first time ever! I wasn't in the mood to get soaked. We got lots of compliments on our outfits, and loved that. The sunset was absolutely stunning.

And of course, we love the fireworks and villain light show. There really is no better time to go to Disney than for Halloween, I love it so much.

I also embarrassed myself getting on the Snow White ride when I leaned on the safety bar as I was stepping in, and then the safety bar of course gave way and I fell right down. LOVE THAT.

Another great trip that left us absolutely exhausted, but with forever memories.

So we were all at least a little disappointed in the royal wedding special, as I assumed we would be. That's why for the past month or so, I've been planning my own version of Mal and Ben's wedding. I might eventually write a oneshot or even a short fanfic based on my ideas but for now, here's the basics of what I would have put into the special!

Their wedding takes place a few years after their engagement, for a variety of reasons. It gives all of Auradon time to adjust to the new normal of the barrier being taken down. Additionally it takes a lot of pressure off of Ben and Mal; they don't have to worry about facilitating healing villain/hero relationships, starting college, and planning a wedding all at the exact same time.

Carlos is in this, which makes it leagues better than the Disney made wedding already. Also, all of Ben and Mal's friends from the three movies are present, not just Jay, Evie, Dizzy, and Audrey.

The plot doesn't center on Hades accidentally causing problems. Everyone has been through enough, they don't need another Auradon being threatened plot. Instead, it has a lot to do about family: those who you are born with, those who you choose, those who you reject, those who you marry into.

Hades has a moment of feeling like he isn't worthy of walking Mal down the aisle, he thinks that since he wasn't around for her childhood, he shouldn't have such a big part in her wedding. Mal tells him that he's her dad, for better or for worse, and that she wants him to walk her down the aisle. He still insists that he shouldn't be the one to do it, so Evie, Jay, and Carlos all join him. Evie and Hades each on one side of Mal, Jay on Evie's other side, and Carlos on Hades' other side, walking the ring bearer lizard/mother of the bride Maleficent. There's also a Space Between moment between the core four right before Mal walks down the aisle, which makes Evie cry, and she asks Mal "is my mascara smudged?".

Speaking of Hades, Persephone accompanies him as his date to the wedding. Mal is okay with this, and actually is quite happy to have another positive parental figure in her life. Maleficent on the other hand, bites Persephone on the ankle and hisses at her.

Evie is still Mal's maid of honor and dress designer. The other bridesmaids are Uma, Lonnie, Jane, and Celia, with Dizzy as the flower girl. Despite his many, many flaws, Chad is one of Ben's few male friends that isn't more chummy with Mal than he is him, so he's the best man. Doug, Harry, Jay, and Carlos are all groomsmen. Gil is the flower man and accompanies Dizzy down the aisle. It's perhaps the best thing to ever happen to him. Maleficent is the ring bearer, possibly against her will but she didn't run away when asked to do it, so Mal took that as agreement. Fairy Godmother is the officiant. Audrey volunteered to be their wedding planner, which I had actually thought of before seeing the special so props to me I guess?

The wedding has a blue and purple color scheme, with each member of the bridal party wearing a different shade of blue with a purple bouquet/boutonnierre/flower crown. Each of the girls chose her favorite shade, and Evie made them an outfit to match it. The boys' outfits were more assigned at random, but Carlos' suit has shorts, which was very important to him. (Evie forbid Jay from wearing a sleeveless suit jacket and dress shirt and he grudgingly obliged.) Also, Gil's suit is made out of the same material as Dizzy's dress, but I couldn't find that online anywhere so this is just an approximation of what his outfit looks like.

The wedding is a formal ceremony in the early afternoon that takes place at the same chapel that hosted Ben's coronation. The entire kingdom is invited, because Mal didn't want to start someone's villain origin story by not inviting them to her wedding. The ceremony is followed by a reception with high tea instead of a cocktail hour, then a sit down dinner in the evening. Dancing and fireworks end the night. Additionally, Mal has her coronation the day after/a few days after the wedding, to make everything a bit less stressful for her.

For the ceremony, Mal wears a white and light purple ball gown. In my version, it's much more elegant than in Disney's, because at the end of the day, while Mal might have been more comfortable in a more purple gown, it is a royal wedding, which includes a certain amount of tradition. She does wear combat boots underneath though. For the reception, she changes into a purple blue and black color shifting dress with a light purple leather jacket. She wears a light purple gown reminiscent of the one she wore to Ben's coronation for her own coronation, and Evie made all of these dresses for her.

Honestly? I'm not mad at the idea of Ben wearing Auradon regalia like he did at his coronation, Mal's cotillion, or in the royal wedding special. I just want it to be something a bit more...elevated? Especially since he often wears a suit in day to day life.

Maleficent turns human at some point during the reception (I envision her as a lizard similar in size to an Asian water monitor lizard up until that point) because while watching the wedding, she learned to love, and realizes that she wants to be a part of Mal's life. However, she still wears a dramatic black dress entirely inappropriate for her daughter's wedding, because that's just who she is.

They went all out with desserts at the wedding. Mal insisted on chocolate covered strawberries and Ben insisted on the gray stuff. They would have been happy with just that but Audrey freaked at the idea of them not having a cake. They also added chocolate fountains for the many VKs that love them and macarons for the many Auradonians that love them. They also gave out small boxes of sugar covered almonds, as it is a tradition in both Greek and French weddings.

Overall, they keep with a lot of wedding traditions (the first dance, bouquet toss, the first time they see each other being when Mal walks down the aisle), reject some (the garter toss, children as ring bearers and flower girls) as well as embracing new things (writing their own vows, having a painter at the reception to capture the night on canvas).

Anyway, this is just my own wish fulfillment version of Descendants: The Royal Wedding because I feel like Disney Channel really did the fandom dirty with the special they put out. But this is also in no way me saying "wah this is the only way it should have gone!", I love seeing what everyone else wanted from it too!!

What type of drunk everyone is from svu?

Most of them are big on only having a couple of drinks, or only drinking at home/mini gatherings at someone’s apartment, as to not fuck shit up in public, being cops/lawyers and all, appearances do still matter. (Also I’m characterizing their drinks cause being a bartender that’s literally my job). That being said:

This got chaotic fast....

Olivia swaps between wine and beer. She prefers wine at home cause it’s easier to carry a bottle or two than like, 12 beers or liquor and mix. She only ever drinks scotch/whisky when it’s been a REALLY bad day, or she’s drinking with Barba/Stone/Casey. She’s usually a happy drunk, she gets super cuddly, giving extra long hugs to Noah when she gets home to relieve Lucy. She doesn’t like being drunk though, she’ll have a few drinks, she doesn’t mind being buzzed, but after watching her mother while she grew up, she doesn’t want to turn into her (and addicting personalities is genetic). She also doesn’t ever want to be actually drunk around Noah, so if it’s the night of a staff christmas party or something, he’s at Lucy’s. When she was younger/recently legal she opted for beer, even if it was shitty, it was what she drank.

Alex is a classy drunk until she’s too drunk. At first, she’s sipping back white wine, gin and tonics or martini’s, she gains a little extra confidence, and is definitely up for a good debate. Whether it be law or politics, or even something far less important, she’s always loved a good debate and that’s only amplified with them extra liquid courage. When she’s too drunk she gets whiny and needy, clinging to her s/o, trying to sneak as many kisses from them as possible, and that’s usually their cue to take her home and put her to bed (where she demands extra snuggles that they’re more than happy to give to her). Alex’s go to young adult drink was a solid glass of Riesling. She’d been allowed wine at the dinner table for years already, but she preferred something a little sweeter.

Donnelly is drinking the top shelf scotch, and probably ordering a round or two of Patron for everyone because I headcanon her as a chaos instigator when she’s not working. (And a bit when she is). She’s also the one debating with Alex, the two of them can get so fired up that someone definitely thinks their arguing for real until they over hear that they’re talking about which Disney villain is the absolute worst. She never gets too messy in front of everyone, and Irish goodbyes before anyone even realizes that she’s gone. Liz has always been a whiskey/scotch drinker, but she moved up from crown royal and ginger to double crown maple on the rocks, to the top shelf stuff she drinks nowadays.

Casey can go a number of different ways depending on the kind of week she’s had, and what she’s drinking. I don’t see her as a beer girl, if she is, it’s nothing darker than an amber, and if it’s after a day of soft ball, it’s whatever’s on special in jugs for the team to split. She drinks scotch, and likes it, but doesn’t often buy it herself/keep it at home. Her drink changes up all the time depending on the type of bar she’s at/who she’s with and the day she’s had. Rough trial? She’s going scotch. Summertime cocktail? It’s gonna be a red sangria or a mojito. Date night? She’ll split a bottle of wine. Some nights she’s at the debating table with Alex & Liz. Some nights she’s playing pool with Amanda and Fin. Other nights her and Kat are feeding Munch shot after shot and listening to him go off on hour long tangents about conspiracies until Fin manages to drag him off to get him home. She’s the one that lets loose the most in a positive way, when she’s passed her limit, she’s either getting overly competitive with the boys, or is starting a dance party with someone. Liz usually sneaks her out of there while she leaves, not wanting Casey to be embarrassed the next day. There is the rare occasion that she starts to get teary/emotional, she doesn’t really cry in front of everyone, but she definitely has those sad drunk nights once in a while.

We all know what Sonya’s like when she’s drunk 👀. She’s drinking bourbon or cheaper whiskey, Jim bean on the rocks or with a splash of water. She’s usually the one up at the bar, not by herself, but she can’t really be bothered to join any of the social circles, rather letting them come to her while she plays on her phone/watches the game/etc. She’s the first one there and the last one to leave, usually stumbling into a cab. She still socializes, often teasing the squad, maybe enjoys a game of darts (that she kicks ass at). Her and Amanda are definitely sneaking out for smoke breaks hoping no one catches them to call them out on it. When she was younger she would drink rye and cokes, or fuck it up with a spiced rum and coke.

Amanda we know can get a little spicy when she drinks, both sexually and anger wise. It kinda depends on the day and who her company is. She’s probably drinking an IPA, a standard beer, or whatever’s on special on tap. A southern comfort and ginger ale. She’s playing pool with the boys and Casey, flirting with Nick/Carisi depending on what era we’re in (and if it’s Nick there’s a high key chance they’re sneaking off to go make out in a back hallway somewhere). When she’s had too much is when she starts to try to bet on someone else’s pool/dart game, or a sporting event, or she starts threatening to throw punches. Liv’s quick to make sure none of that happens and gets her into a cab. When Amanda was freshly 21, she was drinking vodka soda/water and a splash of cran and you cannot tell me otherwise.

Nick’s drinking beer, something in a bottle cause he thinks it’s better, nothing too dark, maybe something craft if they have it/he’s feeling it. He can be at a variety of places in the bar. He might be up at the wood, two seats over from Sonya as they toss back and fourth comments over sports/whatever. He could be playing pool or buck hunter (if it’s buck hunter he’s playing with Casey and is genuinely surprised when she absolutely obliterates him). When he’s had too much, he’s getting possessive and angry (if he’s had any rye and cokes, then this is amplified a thousand times). He’s about to throw a punch to someone who grabs one of the girl’s asses before someone else from the squad gets him out of there as fast as they can. When he was younger he was drinking the shitty cheap beer, and jagger bombs.

Barba’s there and low key hates it if it’s the entire team cause it’s just so many damn people to try and deal with. He’s drinking top shelf, though a different brand from Donnelly. He’s usually at a table near the debate table, Rita, Liv or both with him as the madness begins. He’ll flit between them, sassing Carisi and the debate table. Sometimes he and Carisi are both at the debate table at the same time and they get so into it that the girls slowly and mildly awkwardly leave the two of them to it, moving to another table to continue their own. (And promptly start taking bets on how long it’s gonna be before they bang or if Rollins is gonna manage to snag Carisi first). When he’s had too much he gets mopey, it’s when he’s finally let his guard down and the emotions start tumbling out. He starts to feel every loss of every case or other personal issues that he’s insecure about. Rita’s always the first one to notice, being his oldest friend, swiftly dropping whatever she’s doing to get him into a cab. Sometimes he refuses though and she just sits with him and lets him get it out, whether that means he’s talking or there’s silent tears slipping down his cheeks, he appreciates it either way. She always finds a private booth in the back so the rest of the team doesn’t see it, and lets Liv in on her tactics of how to get him home and happy for the days she’s not around. When Rafael was younger, he didn’t drink much. He never drank underage cause his Mami would straight up kill him. When he did turn 21 he thought most beer was disgusting, and didn’t start on the scotch til he was a working prosecutor. He opts for something more simple like a rum and coke.

Rita surprisingly shows up more often than not. She’s there for the chaos mainly. She’s in the same boat as Cabot, drinking martinis, scotch or red wine. Whatever it is she’s drinking top shelf, if she does a shot she loves a good shaken espresso vodka. Coffee and liquor together is the greatest combination. But she’ll only do shots with Liz. She swaps between the debate table with the girls, and her sass offs with Barba, though there are nights when she’s on the prowl, and those nights, it’s her and Amanda teaming up to find their conquests. She’s also a hell of a good wing woman, and when Kat shows up, you better believe she’s helping this lil baby gay find someone to go home with. When she’s had too much to drink, she gets overly affectionate, like, doesn’t matter if you’re just a friend, she’s still going to be hugging you, and kissing your cheek. It’s time to go when she’s at the stage that she’s pouting cause she’s not making out with someone. (Or when she really is making out with someone, especially from the squad. Her and Amanda were definitely caught making out in the bathroom at least once). Her palate was always adjusted to more “grown up” drinks, like Alex they always had wine with dinner, though she was more of a zinfindel girl when she was in college.

Dodds is mainly a beer drinker, but he surprises some of the squad when he splits a nice bottle of red with Olivia. Some nights he’ll be at the table with her, kinda keeping an eye on everything, he wants to make sure that he’s not a mess in public, between being sergeant and his dad. He does indulge in a little bit of the more playful stuff, joining the pool game or those little punching bag games they have in bars. He almost always knows his limits and ducks out before he’s had too much, but on a night where he really wants to stay, he just gets more playful when he’s pretty drunk. Him and Carisi are both like little puppies sometimes, and when they’re drinking and having a good time, they’re full blown golden retrievers. When he first started drinking, he swapped between shitty light beer and vodka sodas.

Carisi is mainly a beer drinker, and even as an ADA, he doesn’t get on the scotch train. He thinks it tastes like campfire and is just too gross. He does love a good red wine though. He’s usually one of the more social ones, flitting around the room like a hyper hummingbird, he spends some time at the debate table, but Donnelly hardcore intimidates him (tbh, all of the lady lawyers do...) so he usually only pops over there when Barba’s there. He plays a few games of pool, and is definitely the one ordering food/apps for the group to make sure they’re getting some actual nutrients in (though it’s usually just him yelling about how good specific menu items are until everyone tries them). When he’s too far gone, he gets sappy, like, full on “I just love you guys all so much...you’re like my family but better.” Defs has a few nights where there’s a make out sesh with Rollins/Barba, and he definitely tries to beat Casey in an arm wrestle (and no one will let it down when he loses).

Stone only comes out if Liv or Carisi is going, he’s still pretty sure the rest of the team hates him, but he knows he has to keep up appearances. He swaps between beer and scotch, but he’s definitely drinking a craft beer. Back in his baseball days it was always bud, like this man could’ve been the spokesperson for it. He keeps to himself, usually up at the wood with Sonya, especially if there’s baseball on. He socializes with Carisi the most, or settles into a good heart to heart Momma Benson talk. He always tries to head out before he’s had too much, if he’s gonna get messy it’s gonna be at home. That’s where he wakes up in the morning, still in his clothes on his couch with a half eaten pizza on the coffee table and a raging hangover.

Kat, being one of the younger ones, can outdrink basically all of them except Donnelly. If she’s feeling classy, it’s a nice rose wine, otherwise it’s vodka sodas or a custom cocktail of the bar. She stays as far away from the debate table as possible the first few times she’s out, more socializing with the cops, being active, playing games, and definitely ordering a couple of shots. She low key thinks Rita’s hitting on her the first time the older woman talks to her, mentioning that she’s flattered, but Rita’s not her type. Rita laughs it off, saying she was just being friendly, and they start to pick out a cute girl for Kat to go after. She never drinks past her limit the first few times out with the squad, wanting to keep somewhat professional, but when she does, that’s when she joins the debate table and damn does home girl ever debate hard.

Cragen, Melinda, and Huang are sitting at a table in the corner with the best vantage point of the entire bar, just watching everything go down. Cragen can’t help but shake his head at the fact that “these are all my idiotic children” (mainly...the lawyers are Liz’s problem). Huang likes to profile them as they watch the mess go down, joking and teasing with the other two. Melinda only sticks around long enough to make sure she’s not gonna have to stitch anyone up. None of them are drinking and they all use that to their advantage when someone starts to get sassy with them later on at work. The only time Huang leaves the table is when Rita walks up, grabs his hand and drags him way being all “mlm wlw solidarity! I just found a really cute boy you need to meet”. Cragen’s the actual last to leave, making sure all the tabs are paid and all the team gets into cabs (ignoring the ones who are thinking they’re sneakily getting into the same cab like he’s not standing on the side walk watching.)

Thanks for the M energy reading;) I know I have mentioned it before when posting here but Meghan still reminds me of a Disney villain like Maleficent, looking into her magical mirror and seeing Kate at the Bond premiere looking beautiful and regal, feeling rage and jealousy over what she perceived she couldn’t have. What Meghan will never concede is that she had the global platform to do that the only difference is she would never be a Queen consort. She could have arrived all glam to the Lion king premiere but it was just a cocktail dress that did not quite fit in the top. She had the support and means to accomplish alot but she squandered it all chasing after the wrong thing. The fixation on Kate has gotten disturbing over time.

I agree with you. The BRF was a wonderful platform for Meghan to achieve her aim of being famous, but instead she squandered all her opportunities because she couldn't take direction/follow protocol.

Meghan's fixation on Catherine is very disturbing. I don't think it will stop until Meghan feels that she has 'beaten' Catherine, and as that will never happen, she will be envious of Catherine forever.
