This is going to bring up some memories from the Dolan twins era but I just went on wakeheart’s website because i got curious out of the blue of what happened to them because I haven’t seen them pop up on my Instagram feed or in my emails but it seems like they kinda fell off the face of earth because everything is kinda gone/ labeled as “sold out”
Their last post on IG was back in May like mid May!
Which is really sad man because I’ve brought two of their wake heart crystal candle set’s including the Christmas candle collection that I cherish to no end:

i’m bored so lets go through.. my tumblr timeline
2012 - i first found out about tumblr. disney tumblr was the first fandom i ever saw on the website. overexposed gifsets of disney princesses and aesthetic pictures of people at disneyland made a huge impact on me and my interest in tumblr was born!
2015 - i make my very first tumblr account, immediately exposed to, for whatever reason, pictures of the dolan twins (lol - i probably said i was interested in youtubers) the galaxy aesthetic was still pretty popular at the time and i’ll never forget coming across a gif of obama dancing on a pizza in a galaxy and nutella.. oh my gosh the amount of nutella i saw, including galaxy nutella.
2017 - still on tumblr, i watched as the galaxy aesthetic faded out and soft boi/boy, vaporwave, pastel, and instagram drawing edits faded in. flower crown edits were everywhere and it left such an impact on me that i even made my own (no, i don’t have them anymore) and i started wearing flower crowns and tattoo chokers to school. a lot of what defined late 10′s - early 20′s aesthetics i saw during this time.
2018 - 19 - my original account was now gone. 2017-18 i said goodbye to the website, taking a short break before rejoining with a couple of new blogs. defining aesthetics on tumblr have seemed to fade out at this point, appropriate as the 2010′s came to a close.
2020 - after accidentally deleting my accounts, i am once again back with new accounts, namely this one and a few others. these days tumblr feels like a ghost town. it will never be the place that originally inspired me back in 2012, but i like to relive what is the tumblr experience i’ve always wanted through scene revival and defunct blogs, the tumblr experience i’ve been wanting since i was 10 years old. :)♥

Secret Love
Liana’s point of view
*******
"Guys, we need to collab! People have been commenting on my Twitter and Instagram asking me if y'all are still my friends. Which is extremely stupid because, I don't have to post about someone constantly just because I'm friends with them." I say.
"E, did you hear that?"
"Sure did Gray."
"Liana, this ain't Texas you don't need the y'all." Grayson says, in a very bad Southern accent.
"Seriously Grayson Bailey?!"
"Ooh she pulled out the midde name Gray. You're in trouble."
I glance over at Ethan, "Ethan I wouldn't start."
"Okay jeez. We can collab. What ideas do you have?"
"Um mukbang, shopping haul, q and a, uh reading fanfiction-"
"Stop! That's a good one!"
"Which one Gray?"
"Fanfiction. We could do that for our channel."
"Yeah that's awesome Gray!" Ethan exclaimed.
I watch as they hug then do their handshake.
"Mhm definitely,” I roll my eyes, “what about my channel!?"
"Oh the q and a sounds good for you."
I roll my eyes. Of course it does.
"So are we going to film yours first since I'm already here?"
What they didn't know was I had already filmed the first half of my video at home before coming over. It was a get ready with me. So my video will be half 'get ready with me' and half q + a.
"Sure."
We walk to their filming room. They go sit on the purple couch as I stand behind the camera.
"3, 2, 1, go!"
I press play on the camera.
"What's up guys we're back!" Grayson screams.
"And today we had no idea what we were going to do."
"We ended up calling a friend over. Because she has so many video ideas."
"Liana, come on in."
I walk in and sit between them, throwing my arms around their necks.
"Wait we should totally do a skit for Liana."
"Definitely bro. Skit time."
We cut the camera for a few minutes to think of the skit idea.
"What should we do?" Grayson asks.
"Gray you should have some ideas. You're the one who wanted to do a skit!"
"Calm down Li, let's think."
"Um maybe E can ask Gray what you should do for a video and he flips out and you flip out and I ring the doorbell, you answer and I just say-"
"Fanfiction!" they screamed together.
I rub my ears.
"Yeah."
"Great let's do it."
I walk outside. I hear Grayson start screaming then Ethan follows.
"Grayson I always come up with the video ideas!"
"Are you kidding Ethan? I came up with last weeks and the week before that!"
I ring the bell. Ethan opens the door a few short seconds later. Grayson appears by his side.
"Liana, what are you doing here?" Grayson asks.
"Fanfiction."
We stop filming to go back to the couch. We set the camera back up and press start.
"God that was so cheesy." I say, laughing.
"Aren't they always?" Grayson asks.
"True." we all laugh.
"So for today's video Liana, Gray, and I have searched up some fanfictions that all of us are in."
"Ethan found one where him and Liana are together and I have one where she and I are together."
"Obviously I'm just here for reactions," I laugh, "Nah I searched up some video edits of us and we'll be watching them a little later."
"I'm going to go first. This one is called 'Just Friends?' and its by xxeverythinglianadolanxx. There's a summary down here," he scrolls for a few seconds ," 'The Dolan Twins are always shutting down dating rumors between them and Liana Summers. Although during filming their lie detector test video when Grayson asked Ethan if he ever liked Liana, Ethan just sort of shrugged and chuckled. So are they really just friends?'."
"That's an intriguing summary." Grayson says, glancing over at Ethan.
"Oh I agree." I nod.
"Alright it's in my point of view so bear with me here." Ethan says, slightly laughing.

New series ?? Hope you guys like this one. It’s my first ever story so I’m not going to edit it much.

Note
The twins are inactive on every social media platform. The closest thing is to follow Kristina, which there’s nothing of the twins on her Instagram. They’ve been sighted in New Jersey for sure a couple times. They deny taking pics with fans so nothing yet. There’s only 2-3 active Dolan twins fans I’ve seen on tumblr.
Hope they're doing well. They didn't seem to be in a good place when they walked away from everything.

Love Fest (g.d. & e.d.)
Summary: You’re the Dolan twins’ little cuddlebug.
A/N: Hi there! I’m not new to writing fanfiction, but I am new to writing fanfiction about the Dolan twins. This is my first work about them and I hope it isn’t total shit. Whether you love it or you hate it, please leave feedback! If you think it isn’t half bad, please reblog. I’m taking requests, so please send them in! Here goes.
2.7k+
It’s Friday afternoon. I don’t have any classes scheduled for the day, so I’ll count that as a win. I’m only wearing a giant t-shirt and a sports bra and panties; no pants. I’ll count that as a win, too. But I’m not satisfied, because I’m a brat.
I heave a dramatic sigh. What’s taking so long? Where are they? I roll my eyes and groan out loud into the abyss. I pick up my phone for the umpteenth time and my sour pout is unrecognizable to my front facing camera so I have to physically type in my password, which is such a pain in the ass. I check my messages, because surely, I’m missing something. But nope. Nothing.
I check the group message and the last text message is from Grayson and it says We’re gonna be filming for the next few hours but we’ll be back as soon as we can! Love you and I had liked it and that had been that. But that was forever ago. And I miss my boys. I miss them to the point where I’m quickly becoming grumpy.
I check the time and realize that it’s only 2:15 in the afternoon, but still. It’s been four hours, four whole, entire hours, since I’ve seen my boys and that just simply won’t do. My resolve is nonexistent. I FaceTime Ethan out of pure desperation and it rings about 87 times before he answers. Just the top half of his face is in the frame, thick, arched brows raised in amusement and brown, droopy eyes alight with their usual mischief.
“Hi,” his voice rumbles through the speaker and I already feel slightly more at ease. But my demeanor remains pouty and I don’t respond, just simply stare him down through the phone. “What’s the matter?” he coos gently, pulling his arm back so that I can now see his pretty face in its entirety. His pink lips are twisted into a mild pout as he awaits my response.
I roll my eyes and pierce him yet again with another unwavering stare. “Eth,” I sigh, as if that’s enough of a substitute for a valid explanation. But he gets it. He and Grayson both always just get it. He sighs right back at me, giving me a sympathetic pout.
“I know, babe. I know,” he soothes, doe eyes penetrating my heart in the dumbest, mushiest way possible. “I miss you. I’m sorry we had to leave, but this is the only day that me and Gray would be able to shoot. Gray,” he suddenly addresses Grayson, looking out of the frame and I assume that he’s summoning him over.
Surely enough, Grayson pops into frame only moments later. His carefully defined jaw moves in a rhythm as he chews on his gum. His eyes, similarly droopy to Ethan’s, are soft and framed by angelic, long lashes as he stares me down through the screen. His hair is a bit messy, but in a way that lets me know that he styled it as such on purpose. He gives me a lopsided grin, dimple denting beautifully into the tan skin of his face.
“Hi, beautiful. Whad’dya need?” he asks and my stomach flips at all of the implications that my mind stirs up from the question. Still, I keep my expression sour. I petulantly shrug my shoulders in response, opting out of a verbal reply. They both know what I need, but I suddenly feel too embarrassed to say it out loud. Grayson hums his acknowledgment, nodding his head in the affirmative.
“We’ll be home in the next two hours, I promise. I miss you so much,” he reassures me and it’s ridiculous, really, how mushy we’re all getting over being separated for only four hours. But it’s just our dynamic. I groan at his answer, earning a sympathetic chuckle out of both boys.
“Two hours? 120 minutes? Grayson,” I whine and this time, the boys give a full-out laugh. I don’t see what’s so funny, but I’m cracking a little smile of my own. My stomach sinks a little as their laughter dies down. My obsession with these two is bordering on unhealthy.
“Two hours, baby. That’s all we need to finish filming and then we’re all yours.”
“And you’re all ours,” Ethan chimes in, raising a single brow and causing me to flush from the innuendo. The three of us have never done anything explicitly sexual, but everyone seems to be under the impression that I’m dating both twins. Probably because we worship each other, but that’s just a hunch. Our relationship is unique and I wouldn’t trade it for the world. I roll my eyes to play off Ethan’s comment, but I see that both boys are wearing twin smirks as they observe me.
“What’re you guys filming about, anyway?” I ask to divert their attention momentarily.
“We’ll show you the footage when we get home. You’re gonna love it. Ethan is such a fucking idiot,” Grayson explains, laughing out his last few words as he looks over at Ethan, who’s rolling his eyes and lightly shoving Gray’s shoulder in retaliation.
“Asshole,” he mutters, but it’s good-natured and Grayson and I both share a laugh at his expense.
“Can’t wait. I’ll see you guys in two hours, sharp,” I emphasize and the twins crack smiles. I salute them through the screen and go to end the call, but I’m quickly interrupted by Ethan.
“Wait! Wait,” he exclaims, focusing the phone on only his face. I stare at him, silently giving him the go-ahead. “I love you. That’s it,” he says and I can’t help the cheesy grin that stretches across my face.
“I love you more, Eth,” I don’t hesitate to reciprocate. The camera is in quick, blurry motion as the phone is seemingly yanked from Ethan’s hand and is all of a sudden focused on Grayson’s face, instead.
“I love you more than he does,” Grayson professes and I laugh, my heart light from all the affection.
“I love you too, Gray. So much,” I say and he looks off screen, presumably at Ethan, wearing a smug smirk. I hear Ethan squawk something out in protest that gets drowned out by Grayson’s raucous laughter. When he looks back at me, his eyes are considerably softer, big, goofy grin still in place.
“Bye, sweetheart,” he says and I give a small wave before ending the call. God, I miss them.
——————
It’s been an hour and 56 minutes since that FaceTime call and to say that I’m chomping at the bits is an understatement. I rewind the show that I’ve been watching on my laptop, once again having been too distracted to pay attention to the plot.
I had figured that binging on a show while I waited for my twins to return would be a good pastime. It had worked for the first 45 minutes and then I was toast. I know that I’ll have to rewatch at least the last episode-and-a-half of the show that I’ve been binging. Was that the sound of a car pulling up? I violently push the space bar on my keyboard to pause the show before I detangle myself from the labyrinth of blankets that I had since swaddled myself in.
I gallop to the front door, but quickly think better of it as I hear a key unlocking it. It’s embarrassing enough that I had to admit defeat and call Ethan only four hours into he and Grayson’s filming, but it would be beyond reproach for them to find me waiting at the front door like an excited puppy. I turn on my heel and begin a hasty retreat, but I walk a total of four steps before I hear the door being flung open and shortly after, I’m being encased by a strong set of tanned arms.
“Where do you think you’re going?” I hear the distinct sound of Grayson’s voice in my ear as he pulls me flush against his hard torso, lips immediately finding a home between my chin and my shoulder and planting loud, smacking kisses on the side of my neck as he squeezes me tight. I giggle at the ticklish sensation and grab hold of each of his forearms which are cross-crossed over my torso. I enjoy his proximity for maybe a few seconds more before I hear Ethan voice his disdain.
“Bro, chill. I haven’t even gotten to see her yet!” he complains. And Grayson twirls us around to face Ethan, resting his chin smugly on my shoulder as he stares at his brother.
“There, now you’ve seen her,” he declares before preparing to spin us back around again. Ethan makes quick work of prying Grayson’s arms off of me and snatching me from his hold, pulling me into a hug, wrapping one big arm around my shoulders and the other around my waist as he holds me close. I instinctively latch onto him.
“He was hogging you all to himself,” Ethan complains close to my ear before dropping a sweet kiss to my forehead.
“You are so cheesy, dude,” Grayson says with disgust dripping from his words from somewhere nearby and my shoulders shake with silent laughter at their bickering. They know that their arguing never fails to leave me tickled and they often do it just to get a laugh or two out of me. It’s all in good jest.
“Whatever dude, look where she is,” Ethan retorts, nodding down to where I’m encased in his protective hold.
“Yeah, because you literally pulled her away from me, jackass,” comes Grayson’s deadpan response. I can’t help the laugh that escapes my parted lips at this and I look up at Ethan, who has a look of incredulity splashed across his pretty face. I reach out a hand to soothingly trace a few fingers along his rigid jawline.
“Eth,” I giggle, hoping that it conveys my willingness to sooth him. He looks down at me and the harshness of his demeanor diminishes on the spot.
“He’s being mean to me. He’s jealous that you like me more,” he declares and that sends me into another fit of flattered, embarrassing giggles, lightly pushing at his chest. I watch as a smile breaks out across his face, the satisfaction in getting me to laugh evident. If anyone else had used this childish attempt at flirting, I would’ve rolled my eyes at best. But Ethan somehow makes it work.
“Okay, time’s up,” I hear Grayson behind me before I feel a strong hand gently pry me out of Ethan’s grip before entwining his fingers with mine and walking us toward the kitchen. I look over my shoulder and give a pouty face to Ethan, who’s now staring daggers at the back of Grayson’s head. I love you I mouth and he’s quick to mouth it back before rolling his eyes and shuffling off in the direction of his room.
“E!” I call out to his retreating form, stopping Grayson and I in our tracks as I take a moment to worry about whether Ethan is genuinely ruffled. He turns to look at me and smiles.
“Just changing into some sweats, babe. Make sure Grayson doesn’t cook something disgusting, please!” He gives a cheesy, sarcastic smile that shows all of his teeth, clearly directing it at Grayson.
“When have I ever cooked anything disgusting, Ethan? You just don’t appreciate good food!” Grayson says in a booming voice a few decibels too high for being as close as he is to Ethan, but it’s something that I’ve grown more than accustomed to.
“Grayson, stop yelling,” is all Ethan says as he finally retreats into his room, closing the door behind him. My amusement from the exchange is clear upon my face as I turn to face Grayson once again.
“I’m not cooking him shit,” is all he says and I burst into laughter for the millionth time since the boys have come back home. He finishes guiding us into the kitchen and I perch myself on the counter top as he busies himself with gathering ingredients for whatever he’s about to cook. I take the opportunity to admire him while he isn’t looking; he’s donning a tight fitting white t-shirt that clings sinfully to his chiseled torso. He’s also wearing a pair of blue shorts that do wonders for his thick, inked thighs, which are gorgeously displayed given the rather short length of the material.
“Do you want a burrito bowl?” He asks over his shoulder and I nod before realizing that he can’t see me.
“Yes, please!” I affirm and he nods, continuing on his mission to prepare meals for us. He takes a moment to discard his shirt, flinging it somewhere in the direction of the pantry before busying himself once again and my mouth is damn near watering at the sight. His broad shoulders and strong back are on glorious display as he goes about making the most mundane tasks - oiling up a pan, turning the knob on the stove, sprinkling fucking salt - look sexy.
“Did I hear you say you’re making burrito bowls?” Ethan asks as he waltzes into the kitchen, also shirtless, with a pair of grey sweatpants slung low on his hips. And honestly, I don’t know what I’ve done to deserve two handsome, shirtless, sculpted men who dote on me in my life. I really don’t, but I’m not complaining.
“Yeah, you want one?” Grayson asks casually over his shoulder, as if he and Ethan hadn’t been bickering moments prior and as if Grayson hadn’t explicitly declared that he wasn’t going to make Ethan any food. That’s just how he and Ethan are; their arguments all last for a grand total of five minutes, at most, before they’re back to being the best of friends.
“Yes please,” Ethan unintentionally mimics my earlier statement before walking over to where I’m sitting on the counter top and standing between my legs. He gathers me up into his warm, bare chest and lays his head on my shoulder. I rake my fingers through his soft curls without hesitation. “I’m so glad to be home. I missed you so fucking much today,” he mutters, but Grayson must hear him because he chimes in as well.
“I missed you, too. We’re never leaving you here while we go film again, holy shit. It was awful,” he emphasizes, shaking his head as he stirs something around in the pan before him. My heart swells to about 20 times its size as I listen to these big, strapping men spilling their guts about me, to me. And suddenly, Grayson’s standing too far away.
“Gray?” I call out quietly and he turns around to see my free hand that’s not raking through Ethan’s hair, beckoning him toward me. He gives me that lopsided grin that turns my insides to jelly before taking slow, calculated strides in my direction. He cradles my face with one hand and I latch onto his wrist as he leans in and peppers my face with kisses. I scrunch up my nose and accept his shower of affection with pure delight. On my other side, Ethan raises his head from my shoulder and my hand gently falls from his curls as he cups my face and begins showering me with kisses on that side of my face as well.
I let a few girlish giggles escape me as the boys continue their playful attack. “Grayson, the food?” I manage to breath out when the aroma coming from the stove begins to increase in intensity. He sighs and pulls his lips from me only to rest his forehead on my cheek, eyes closed.
“Fine,” he relents before begrudgingly returning to the stove. Meanwhile, Ethan’s attack continues before he’s throwing his arms around my shoulders and trailing his kisses downward, first a few near my mouth, several on my chin, and a few longer, more lingering ones on my neck before he buries his face there again and I resume raking my fingers through his hair again as if I had never stopped.
“Enjoy it while you can, E,” Grayson says without even looking back, seemingly aware of how Ethan moulded himself to me once again as soon as he stepped away. “When you run off to play Fortnite later, she’s all mine,” he states. And my stomach flips at the thought. My boys are gonna be the death of me and it’s not a bad way to go.

How Liana became popular
Liana Summers has been friends with the Dolan Twins since they were born, well practically. The Dolan Twins were born to Lisa Dolan on December the 16th of 1999. Liana was born to Evangeline Summers, December the 28th of 1999.
I can tell you’re wondering, how did they become friends so soon after their birth? Well Liana’s mom was one of Sean’s students. She came to him for help with her little problem after she told her parents she got pregnant when they went on a cruise for spring break. Of course since she had gotten pregnant while on the cruise she had no way of contacting the guy who got her pregnant. She told her parents that she was pregnant and they kicked her out. Sean was sympathetic with her and took her in because his wife was pregnant as well. He thought that maybe Lisa could help Evangeline with the pregnancy. Lisa went into labor a few weeks before Eva. The boys were born and even though Eva was only 17, she got to hold the two most precious things she had ever seen.
A few weeks later, Liana was born 12 days after the twins. Evangeline didn’t want anyone in the room with her when she had Liana. She went through this pregnancy, mostly alone, and she wanted to have her alone time with her baby.
After the birth of the twins and Liana, Sean and Lisa gave Eva some money to put towards an apartment. Eva dropped out of high school and got a part time job. Growing up, the only people Liana really had in her life were the Dolans and her mom. Throughout grade school she would always hang out with the twins.
You see the thing is, Liana would help the boys film vines. Sometimes, she would be in them as well. Liana became well known on vine for her kiss cam vines. A lot of people would run up to her while she was standing next to Ethan or Grayson, or any of their boy friends and they would yell “KISS CAM!”. Which meant, the person Liana was standing with, she would have to kiss. It was all fun and games until one of her vines got a lot of views and a lot of reposts. Many people forwarded the video and even began to share it on other platforms. Liana Summers became known as, “hey you’re that girl that posts those kiss cam videos right? Those guys you kiss are cute.”
Then, low and behold people followed her journey through her Instagram and Twitter ever since. When she announced that she was starting a YouTube channel, everyone rushed to follow. She made videos with the twins frequently and was even featured in their videos. Although mostly she would film, they invited her into some of them. So basically her and the twins got fame at the same time.
If you have any questions about her, let me know and I’ll be glad to answer anything!

Party Pooper (e.d. & g.d.)
Summary: @love-youu-softly suggested that I write about a situation in which the reader is jealous of other girls and this is how I decided to write out that vision. I hope I did it justice!
A/N: I’m sorry that it’s taken me over a week to post a second imagine! I’m a full time senior undergrad student, so I’ve had a hellishly busy schedule this semester. Regardless, I will try to post content as often as I possibly can! The feedback that I got on “Love Fest” is truly astounding and I thank everyone so much for their kind words! Hope this one doesn’t disappoint either!
3.6k+
“Will there be any dogs at the party?” I ask, absentmindedly pointing my feet toward my bedroom ceiling, back cushioned by the soft comforter draped over my mattress. My cell phone is on speaker, so my fingers are free to draw mindless shapes into the cushy fabric as I await a response.
“Probably not. He happens to care that I’m allergic, so I think he said that the dog’ll be at a friend’s for the night,”comes Grayson’s reply in regards to our friend who’s hosting the party. I roll my eyes. It’s amazing to me, sometimes, that he claims to be the least dramatic out of he and his twin brother. “Why do you care if there’s gonna be a dog there, anyway? I’ll be there and I’m all you need. I’m way better than a dog,” he continues and I huff out a mock-dramatic breath. Really, I’m silently marveling over how pronounced his New Jersey accent has become in the span of just a few short sentences. It’s so cute and it always sneaks up on him and he never seems to notice.
“Grayson,” I cut him off before he can continue his rambling.
“What?” he asks, faux-sour attitude seeping through the speaker.
“I’ve never heard a stronger New Jersey accent in my life. In my whole, entire life,” I emphasize and I hear Ethan’s sudden burst of laughter shortly afterward.
“I’m hanging up now,” is all Grayson says, but even through the phone I can hear his smile. Ethan’s still laughing.
“Okay, okay. I’m sorry,” I pretend to apologize as I click my acrylic nails rhythmically against one another. Grayson and I are currently - well, we’re supposed to be - in the middle of a conversation regarding a party that he, Ethan and I have been invited to tonight that’s scheduled to kick off in a few hours’ time. “Back to what you were saying before. About the attire,” I attempt to steer the conversation back on track.
“Yes, as I was saying: I think I’m gonna wear that new shirt you bought me, the cropped one. And my jeans. And you’d look really hot in that pink shirt. The one with-“ he starts, only for Ethan to interject.
“The one with the little bows that criss-crosses on her chest! Ah, dude, yes. That one’s so hot!” he blurts out and I hear the distinct sound of what’s most certainly the twins’ palms meeting in a high-five. I outwardly scoff at their boyish antics, but I internally pat myself on the back for snagging that pink shirt online a few weeks prior.
“Anyway,” Grayson addresses me again, “we’re planning on getting there at around 11:30. So we’ll pick you up at 10:45?” he proposes.
“Sounds good to me! See you in,” I pause to check the time, “two hours.”
“And before you go,” Grayson quickly cuts in, “just know that you’re staying at our’s tonight. And the next night. And probably the night after that.” I pretend like my heart doesn’t speed up at the demand.
“Yes, sir,” I respond drily and I hear him hum in satisfaction at the term I’ve chosen.
“Don’t start something you can’t finish,” is all he responds and then he pauses, letting it linger between us. I bite my bottom lip. I hate when they do this. The twins have a tendency to be very suggestive and I know they’re joking, or at least I think they are. And it just further blurs the lines that are already blurred between us.
I realize that I’ve let the silence linger for a while by opting out of a reply. Before I can fumble out a response, Grayson takes over again. “See you soon, baby,” he says before I hear the three beeps indicating that the call has been ended. I’ve just about chewed the skin off of my lower lip at this point. Through this phone call, alone, I can deduce that this night is sure to be long and eventful.
The party is in full swing by the time that we arrive. We take the time to scan our surroundings and the protective presence of Grayson’s hand on my lower back and Ethan’s not too far above his are pleasantly warm to the touch. My arms are crossed, but I want nothing more than to grab onto my boys. Given the rumors that are already circulating about our supposed three-way relationship, however, I figure that it’s best not to draw any more attention to our over-friendliness. Though, having people think that I’m dating two of some of the most gorgeous guys in Los Angeles isn’t that horrible a hassle.
I take a split second to check out my boys. Grayson’s wearing the crop top I bought for him, as promised, and the maroon fabric is striking against his skin. My eyes trail down over his defined hipbones and hard, flat stomach and tantalizing V-line and I kind of get lost in the sight of him for a moment. So much so that, when my eyes finally find their will to snap back up, Grayson’s smirking knowingly at me. He gives me a very obvious once over of his own and then fixes me with a piercing stare that has me squirming in place.
I shake my head at him, but my cheeks feel like they’re positively glowing with warmth as I fix my eyes, next, onto Ethan. He’s still scanning the scene, nodding at a few people here and there. I take a moment to admire the scruff that he’s allowed himself to grow out over the past few weeks. His hair looks messy in the sexiest way possible. He’s wearing a white T-shirt that shows off his defined abdomen and strains a bit across his chest. And Ethan in white is just, well. It’s a sight. He dons a pair of black, ripped jeans and the hint of his thigh tattoos peak out teasingly.
“She’s staring at us, E,” Grayson teases, effectively blowing my cover. I scowl at him and hide my face in my hands as both boys cheekily laugh at my expense. I reach back to shove off both of their hands, throwing up a middle finger for good measure. They laugh in my face and I fight back a smile of my own as I spin around on the spot and begin to make my way through the room. I hear their protests behind me and I turn my head back as I continue to walk away, noticing that they’re approaching while wearing adorable twin pouts. Before they can get too far, a throng of three or four people greet them and they’re caught up in conversation before long.
I smile to myself before turning back around and scouting out the mini bar. My boys are so popular. Just as I’m thinking this, I hear my name being called and spin around to face a friend of mine that I haven’t seen in much too long. We instantly rush toward each other and meet in a hug.
“I’ve missed you,” she chirps as we finally separate and before I can even reciprocate, she continues, “are you here with your boy toys tonight?” and she raises a suggestive eyebrow that has me lightly shoving her shoulder, but blushing nonetheless.
“I don’t know what boy toys you’re referring to, but I am here with Grayson and Ethan,” I confirm, playing off the butterflies in my stomach as nerves and not as the fluttering satisfaction of having someone else call the twins my boy toys. My friend looks unconvinced.
“Yeah, alright,” she drawls, chuckling jokingly before pointing her thumb over her shoulder, “should we go get drinks?”
“Thought you’d never ask!” And that’s how we find ourselves grabbing a couple of drinks and then scurrying over to the first available seat, which conveniently happens to offer us a view of the whole room. The perfect people-watching spot. Over the course of several events involving my friend and I both being on the guest list, we’ve come to the unspoken agreement that the best way to enjoy a party is to sit off to the side with a drink and gossip.
As we settle onto the plush loveseat, people stop by every few minutes to chat and then move along, allowing us to mostly have time to ourselves to catch up. I swill my finger around the rim of my almost-empty glass of wine and register the pleasant buzz engulfing me. I’m genuinely enjoying myself as I shamelessly gaze upon my surroundings. I distantly wonder where the twins have gone, but I figure that they’re likely catching up with friends.
“Uh, who are they?” comes my friend’s snarky voice from next to me and I quickly turn to face her, silently begging for an explanation for her sudden hostility. She appears to be glaring holes into something ahead of her and she never breaks her gaze as she nods in the direction of what she’s referring to. I follow her line of sight and end up staring at the twins. And the two girls who are being chatted up by them.
My stomach twists into a knot, on-sight. My jaw tenses immediately. My cheeks are unbearably hot and my whole body feels warm and my skin feels prickly. The fingers of my free hand are involuntarily clenching up to form a small fist. Simply put, I feel without a doubt, undeniably, disgustingly jealous. I watch as Grayson inches slightly closer to the girl on the right as he continues to tell what is so obviously a joke. Ethan stands beside him, chiming in once in a while and I see the girls’ shoulders shake with laughter. My eyes roll back far enough in my head to see my brain.
I forget, for a moment, that I have company until my friend scoffs beside me. I try my hardest to fix my face just as she’s turning her attention back to me. “Your boyfriends look like they’re having a good time,” she digs, taking another hearty swig of her drink. That’s what I love about her: she teases me until the sun goes down about my relationship with the boys, but she’s always on my side and has my best interest at heart at the end of the day. And in this case, “being by my side” entails staring daggers into the backs of the girls’ heads that are currently demanding all of the twins’ attention.
“They aren’t my boyfriends. They can talk to other girls if they want. Hell, they could use some girlfriends if you ask me!” I’m laying it on thick in the hopes that my friend won’t detect my wounded, sour mood. “I’m sure those are lovely girls. And the twins deserve some lovely girls,” the bitterness is starting to involuntarily seep into my words. I quickly down the rest of my glass of wine in place of saying anything else incriminating. Against my will, I maintain eye contact throughout my rambling, so as not to give myself away. My friend raises her eyebrows, but shrugs.
“If you’re okay, I’m okay,” she sounds unconvinced, but I think she can sense that I don’t wish for the conversation to go any further, so she mercifully drops the topic. She selves into something lighter - pop culture, I think; something about Twitter - and I do my best to keep up, but my eyes just can’t seem to drift away from the cozy party of four standing ahead of me. I catch the movement of well-manicured fingers resting gently on Grayson’s bicep. My nostrils flare slightly as I watch Ethan’s eyes drop to one of the girl’s lips every now and then. Both boys are huge on eye contact and it seems that neither of them have blinked in ages.
I know I’m being ridiculous. Ethan and Grayson aren’t mine to be jealous over, but that doesn’t stop my stomach from folding in on itself as I watch the scene before me unfurl.  Suddenly, I feel uncomfortable in my own skin; embarrassed to be moping on a couch in the middle of a party while my good friends and nothing more, I guess flirt with a couple of girls. What had I expected? For the boys to stay single forever and neglect their love life to be at my beck and call? As I pretend to keep up with the conversation that my friend is providing - and she’s trying so hard, bless her soul - I come to the realization that I have, in fact, expected this. Somewhere deep down, I’ve hoped against hope that I would be number one in the twins’ lives, always.
A group of familiar faces soon surrounds my friend and I and, before long, they’re filling the empty seats around us. I put on my happiest, I’m-fine-and-totally-not-jealous face and greet them properly. I jovially chime into the conversation here and there for a matter of minutes before I realize that I can no longer keep up this charade. I allow myself to glance in the direction of where the boys were earlier and am none too pleased to find them still there with the same company that they’ve held for the past half hour, at least. I let out a dramatic yawn and cover my mouth halfway through.
“As you can see, I’m tired. I think I’m gonna call it a night, but I better see you guys again!” I point a finger at the group of people around me, wagging it in a mock-accusatory manner. I’m met with a chorus of Aw, don’t leave’s and Stay’s and You just got here’s and I at least have the decency to act like I don’t actually want to leave. “I know, guys! But we’ll all plan something for next week, okay? Dinner?” I propose and this seems to satisfy the group somewhat.
My friend who had sat with me through it all and was there to see my mood change knows better and she gives me a sympathetic pout. I find her eye and discreetly wink. When it’s our turn to hug goodbye, she whispers a “text me when you get home,” and I give her an extra squeeze for her concern, promising that I will. With one last wave to my group of friends, I make my way toward the front door but realize midway through that I should probably let the twins know that I’m leaving, which will surely turn into a whole thing. I scowl at the prospect of having to witness their little rendezvous up close, but head in their direction nonetheless.
As I draw closer to them, I realize that they haven’t even noticed me approaching due to their enthrallment with their little gal pals. For the umpteenth time this evening, I fix my face, this time into a facade of tiredness. I’m damn near standing next to the boys before their attention finally breaks. Ethan is the first to acknowledge me, shuffling over to where I am to throw an arm around my shoulder and scoop me into his side. “Hi, stranger,” he teases, alluding to the fact that we’ve been separated all night. I watch as the girl he’s been speaking to eyes me up. She and her friend look threatened as they gaze upon our comfortable body language.
When I catch them staring, they quickly fake polite smiles. I fake back a smile of my own and nod my acknowledgment of them, then I look up to address Ethan. “Hi,” I all but sigh, getting thrown off track by those big doe eyes that he’s setting on me right now. The arm that’s hanging limply by my side is soon being hooked by one of Grayson’s arms, causing my attention to shift to him.
“Is everything okay?” he asks, forever in protective mode, looking me over for any signs of obvious distress. I crack a little smile at that, shaking my head. He visibly relaxes a bit before giving me a little smile of his own. “Good.”
“I just wanted to let you guys know that I’m heading out early. I’m just beat all of a sudden. But I’ll take an Uber! Text me to let me know you guys made it home safe,” I say, going to gently disentangle myself from them both, but of course, it’s never that easy.
“I thought you were staying over,” Ethan pipes up, beginning to rub up and down on my outer arm with the hand that’s thrown over my shoulders, “so we might as well take you.” he reasons and Grayson doesn’t hesitate to agree.
“Yeah, we’re not gonna make you pay for Uber when we can drive you and we’re all going to the same place,” he rationalizes, clearly having already made up his mind and I catch a glance of the girls’ faces who’ve witnessed this whole conversation and their expressions are honestly priceless. I figure that there’s no use in arguing with the boys at this point, so I simply shrug my shoulders and nod.
“Okay,” I give in easily enough. Without even disentangling themselves from me, the boys graciously bid their female companions adieu. And I even throw in a friendly farewell of my own before the twins and I are making our way to the nearest exit. The look of bewilderment on both girls’ faces is enough to get me through the next several weeks, at the very least.
As the boys and I eventually make it to the car and hop in, Ethan gets into the driver’s seat and Grayson slides into the back with me this time. I’m not complaining. Ethan pulls out of the massive driveway and back onto the street as we begin our next journey back to the twins’ house. Grayson has his arm around me and is cradling me to his chest, where my head is resting comfortably and, for a few minutes, the sound of the radio is all that fills the car.
“Why weren’t you gonna come back to our’s at first?” Ethan asks, breaking the calm for a moment. Grayson stays silent but I can feel the movement of his head tilting down to catch my response. So clearly, I decide to pay dumb.
“What do you mean?” I creatively come up with.
“You know, earlier, when you told us to text you when we got home. You already packed an overnight bag to stay with us. What happened?” he asks and he sounds genuinely curious and maybe a little bit wounded. I take longer than I should to reply.
“Well, I saw you guys, you know,” I trail off, body positively recoiling at myself and my genius idea to bring up what I’m about to bring up, “with those girls earlier and I figured, you know? If you guys were gonna bring them home, I didn’t wanna be, like, a fifth wheel and a burden.” I word-vomit all over the back seat. It doesn’t help that neither boy says anything for several seconds. In my fit of humiliation, I keep my eyes downcast and I don’t catch the silent exchange that Ethan and Grayson share through the rearview mirror.
“Were you jealous?” Grayson eventually accuses and I just about combust at the spot-on observation.
“No! No, not jealous. Just, you know,” I revert back to my nervous you know tick before trailing off again and this time, I hear Ethan snickering from the front seat and I can just feel Grayson’s smirk.
“Yeah, you’re jealous,” Grayson confirms out loud, as if I’ve given him all the evidence he needs to arrive at this conclusion. I shove him away and hide my face in my hands for the second time tonight, glowing with embarrassment, as his booming laughter takes up the backseat. Ethan’s laughter mixes in a taunting harmony with his brother’s.
“Am not,” I meekly and childishly assert, though it quickly gets lost in the symphony of roaring laughter around me.
“Awwwww,” Grayson coos teasingly, pulling me back into him without much fuss. He breaks away for a moment to unbuckle both of our seatbelts before latching back onto me once more, gently rocking us from side to side.  When the boys calm down a bit, Grayson rests his head close enough to my ear to mutter, “you have nothing to worry about.”
My heart predictably picks up speed and I hope that Grayson can’t feel it with the way that we’re fused together.
“Ever,” Ethan’s quick to add in regards to my insecurities. Already embarrassed enough as it is, all I do is huff out a breath, causing Grayson to laugh again.
“She’s still pouting, Ethan,” he points out and from the corner of my eye, I see Ethan shake his head fondly.
“Guess we’re gonna have to spoil her when we get home,” he responds nonchalantly and my resolve is crumbling at lightening speed. I feel Grayson shrug a shoulder.
“Guess so,” he agrees, giving me a couple of affectionate squeezes. I burrow my nose into the space right beneath his jaw because I’m tired of acting like this isn’t exactly what I was hoping for all night. He returns my gesture, nuzzling his nose against my forehead for a moment.
In my state of bliss, I take a moment to reflect upon the night. I think about how jealousy had coursed through my veins, matching the buzz from the glass of wine that I’d had. I think about how I’d had to confront the idea that I felt a selfish possessiveness over the boys that a part of me always hoped, foolishly, that they would return. And I think, now, engulfed in the pleasantly crushing weight of Grayson’s arms, about how that idea may not have been so foolish after all.
