So, I just had the craziest thought. Hear me out

What if when we fall in love with someone and it actually hurts, that's their name and person getting tattooed on our heart? After a while, we get used to it being there. And some people get bored of the tattoo and leave to get a new one, others get hurt and try to rip out the tattoo, leaving only scars of the name and others cherish the tattoo as if it has always belonged to them.
