The K Neverland - Application Batch #02

Hello! You’re speaking to a Darling from The K Neverland! For those who don’t know, we are a magical land in the kpop world. We are still looking for our lost fairies! We’ve found a few of them, but many are still missing, out in the world. Are you one of them?

K-Neverland is a Network for creators of all k-pop fandoms, where everyone is welcome to create and share fanworks. Whether it’s gfx, written works, art, or anything else, all are accepted here in Neverland! Our goal is to find both up-and-coming and fan-favorite creators to keep the passion for creativity within the kpop community, specifically that of Tumblr’s fandom, forever young.

Interested in flying to Neverland? We’ve got you covered. We’d like to thank everybody for your patience and interest in joining our network. You may apply as writers, gfx makers, moodboard makers and more! Send us your ideas. There are a few simple guidelines that members must follow in order to have their application accepted:

Hi this is Exol Santa one more time!❄️💜 Sorry about the messages mix up! Luckily I had to draft the ask because I was trying to get it under the character limit so I still have part 2 saved. but also it looks like the character limit on asks was removed? Apologies for my incompetence in messages (I’ve been on tumblr for like 10 years lol you think I’d have the hang of it, but maybe that’s why I expect the worst regarding functionality)

Here’s what was in the second half of the message: I just got into Exo a couple years ago! I have a friend who was into SuperM and sent me a few of their videos and basically as soon as I saw Baekhyun that was it for me, and he’s still my bias. I was in covid quarantine for 15 days and binged Exo Next Door and then a bunch of performance videos and fell in love with all the members. I’ve been slowly catching up on ten years of content since then. Monster Dance practice is a GREAT first exo video. Do you have a favorite era/comeback? Do you have a favorite of Suho’s songs? (I still need to listen to Self Portrait!)

I hope that went through this time!

I’m also having a great time chatting so I can send you actual message replies in 10 days once I can come off of anon :P I started watching Stranger so I’ll definitely let you know how that goes! And I will say that I totally agree with you about the ending of Reply 1988 I was devastated.

I think I have an idea for what I want to do for your present, and I mostly make digital art so that’s what I’m planning, but I wanted to also ask if there’s anything you were really hoping for? I’ll probably have time to make a couple things so I can do my idea and a second, or add in elements if there’s anything you’ve been thinking about. I’m not much of a fic writer but anything else I can take a shot at: moodboards, gifs, lockscreens, etc!

Please, no need to apologize. Tumblr is so unpredictable with ASKs. Thank goodness you had a saved draft. I wonder if the length of messages goes larger with a "response" to an ASK? I have been on tumblr a little less than you, (8 years) and I still don't know much about this crazy platform. lol

I found my way to tumblr via the CW Arrow and The X-Files' Fandoms. How about you?

What Kpop groups were you listening to before SuperM? I was so lucky to see SuperM as my first ever Kpop concert. And Baekhyun was GLORIOUS live. I am surprised I survived seeing SuperM in person. I LOVE Kai (he is one of my bias wreckers), Taeyong and Ten. SuperM's first promo photos are burned into my memory. An EXCEPTIONAL concept. hahaha

Speaking of concepts......I CANNOT wait to see EXO's upcoming concept and new music. If it has any connection to their Season's Greetings concept I will be DEAD (in the best way possible) lol.

It is hard for me to narrow down a favorite of Suho's music, but perhaps I can give you a few favs off his more recent Grey Suit era. I loved the whole album, but Hurdle, Decanting and Bear Hug were extra wonderful to me. I hope you are able to listen to Self-Portrait. His voice is just so beautiful and the album is a lovely journey of falling in love, losing it, letting it go and appreciating it. Have you seen any of the live sessions mvs? THEY ARE ALL SO FABULOUS. O2 is particularly pretty with the water concept. I don't think we would have been given such a gift of mvs for every song of that album if not for covid. I guess that is one ray of sunshine through the horribleness of the virus. I am sorry you were in covid quarantine. Were you ill or just protecting yourself and others? I hope you weren't sick with it. As far as era looks - Suho during the Lotto Era was also wow. The strawberry hair, the pink shirt and neck ties' outfit for the lotto stages. Let me see If I can add a link of it.

What are some of your fav songs from Baekhyun? AND HE IS COMING BACK SOON!!

You are so sweet to ask about the secret santa gift. I am excited about anything you are inspired to create. Seriously, I don't like to hinder creators, so allow yourself to go in any direction freely. But please don't feel any pressure to make multiple gifts. Anything you come up with will be wonderful! A/N: This is a sequel to Sweet on You. I highly recommend you read it before this since it will have elements of that. This was requested by my Bibi @imkyunies and @herefortaem . There, pinned against the wall was Kang Seulgi, heavily making out with her boyfriend.

It was like her entire world had frozen and her heart had stopped beating.

She blinked her eyes, still trying to process what she was seeing. She couldn’t believe it. She just couldn’t.

And yet, she could clearly make it out that it was indeed Taemin and Seulgi. Taemin was holding her and kissing her in such a way that it looked like no one had loved him like this before.

Feeling dizzy and sick, she turned away from them, trying to navigate her way out of the crowd. But she couldn’t see anything, and it was making it difficult to push through the crowd.

She bumped into someone and she looked at the person in a daze to apologize to them, but instead her eyes met Jongin’s.

“Where were you? I was searching for you. Chanyeol said you had come this way so-”

“J-Jongin.” she whispered, still horrified at what she saw.

His eyes widened in horror as her leg gave away in exhaustion and she collapsed, but he caught her before she could hit the ground.

“What’s wrong?” he asked worriedly.

She looked up at him, tears streaming down once more from her face as the pain returned to her chest.

“Taemin.” she whispered, the tears clouding her vision. “T-Taemin, h-he-” she couldn’t even continue, the pain was too much to bear. She wanted this to be a dream, one of those constant nightmares she had been having for the past few weeks and just wake up.

She saw Jongin’s jaws tighten. “What did he do? Where is he?” he growled. He was already walking back towards the crowd.

“N-No, please no!” she sobbed, not caring if people were seeing them. “I don’t want to go back there.” she begged him, but he was still dragging her back to the place she had seen Seulgi and Taemin. She could see them now, still in the same spot, but this time Seulgi was passionately kissing Taemin’s neck.

Her stomach turned again, and she felt she would throw up. Finally, she managed to remove herself from Jongin’s grip and stopped him too.

“I don’t want to see him.” she said, her nose already running from the amount she was crying.

Jongin paused, as though considering her words. Then he wrapped his arms around her and dragged her away from that place instead.

"Let's go home, okay?" He muttered.

She shook her face furiously, the tears still not stopping.

"I-I don't want to go back to where he-"

"I understand. '' Jongin said softly, and led her outside to his car. He helped her get into the passenger seat, she was still shocked from what had just happened.

She feverishly wished that Seulgi was the one who forced him to do it. But the way he was kissing her back…

She shook her head, trying to get that image out as a fresh set of tears spilled from her eyes.

The drive back to Jongin' s home was silent, and she was thankful for it.

Finally, they reached and as soon as he opened the door for her, she stumbled onto the sofa.

"Hey." Jongin asked, worriedly. "Do you want something to drink? Water?"

She shook her head. "I'm fine." She whispered, but she could feel her breath getting laboured as the image of Taemin and Seulgi came back to her mind.

She felt a gentle hand on her shoulder and she looked up to see Jongin looking at her with a sad expression.

"You guys didn't talk, did you?" He asked, sitting down beside her.

She shook her head again, unable to speak anymore.

He sat there with her for some time, just holding her hand and rubbing circles on her back.

"It's not true." She said after some time, her voice choked.

She looked at him, her eyes watering immediately and he pulled her into a hug.

The warmth of his touch was so overwhelming it broke everything inside her. The feeling of his love and friendship tore apart the dam that had been holding all her pain and tears for so long.

She cried and cried, until Jongin's shirt was wet but he didn't say anything.

"It's not true. Please, it's not true."

"I-I don't think Taemin meant it. I think…" his voice trailed off, as he tried to think of a proper excuse, or even a lie to justify Taemin's actions but he just couldn't find any.

All of a sudden, his phone rang and he pulled it out of his pocket to check the caller's id.

"Hey hyung. " he said, and mouthed Chanyeol to her, who was looking at him with an expression between fear and curiosity.

"Where are you?" Chanyeol asked. "I can't find you and Taemin's searching for her-"

"Well," Jongin said, gritting his teeth. "You can tell him to stay away from her, because she saw everything his lying cheating ass did."

He could see her eyes widening in terror.

"What did he do? It's Seulgi, isn't it?" Chanyeol asked after a pause.

"Yes. He was busy making out with her. Ask him to stay away from his girlfriend." Jongin said angrily, before cutting the call.

"What did you do?" She whispered, fear laced in her voice.

He shook his head. " No. You can't run away forever. Sooner or later, you need to talk it out, unless you want this to completely ruin your friendship. And don't worry, I won't let him talk to you until you are ready. Now come on, you need to get some rest."

He pulled her protesting form up and showed her to his bedroom. Giving her some comfortable clothes he told her that he would be on the living room couch.

She crept into the sheet, the bed feeling foreign under her touch. She dearly wished there was someone who would hold her tight until she fell asleep.

But Taemin was far far away, and she didn't want to see him any time soon.

Thinking of his warm embrace caused the tears to come back again. She dug her face into the pillow to muffle her sobs, trying to block out Taemin from her memories.

She woke up with a jolt, breathing hard and sweating.

Her body was shivering, as the same nightmare which had been haunting her for the past few weeks came back again.

All of sudden she felt a warm pair of arms wrap around her, and she felt herself relax against him.

"What's wrong? The same dream?" He asked, his breath tickling her ears.

"Yes." She muttered, turning her head so that she could bury her head in Taemin's chest.

She felt him pull her closer, and the rhythmic beating of his heart calmed her down more. His body heat was very inviting and the soft fabric of his shirt made her want to cling on to it more.

"It's okay. Sehun is gone. No one's going to hurt you anymore." He's soft touches were so soothing she wanted to stay there in his arms forever.

"But I didn't listen to you-"

"Shh. Not that. We talked about this, love. " he whispered.

The way he called her love made her stomach roll. She looked up at him and he leaned down to boop her nose.

She felt herself smile, all fear forgotten and he kissed her forehead. As his lips brushed against her skin, she felt a thousand stars light up in the dark room.

And so did her love for him.

She woke up to the sound of voices arguing; no it was just one voice.

Her head was hurting due to the amount she had cried and when she checked the alarm clock beside her table she had a shock: it was just 3 in the morning.

Who was arguing so early in the morning?

Getting up slowly, she pressed her ears against the door of the bedroom to hear the voices. She knew who it was immediately. It was Jongin.

Frowning, she pushed open the door and stepped into the living room, only to find her heart stop again.

There in the living room was Jongin and her boyfriend.

But she didn't know which broke her heart more, the fact that Taemin was here in flesh or the fact that Jongin had clearly beaten up Taemin badly.

"J-Jongin.” She whispered, tears welling up again.

Jongin stopped at her voice, right when he was about to land another punch on Taemin’s face, and they both looked up at her.

Taemin’s face, she realised, was not only bruised up, but his eyes were red and teary and he wore an expression of pain and heavy guilt.

That alone was enough to spiral her back into another panic attack.

As soon as his eyes met hers he got up towards her.

“Love-” he began but Jongin pulled him back.

She stood there for a second, frozen and then immediately turned around and ran back to the room, slamming the door shut.

She fell on the floor, her back leaning against the door as the pain returned to her again. She didn’t bother trying to quieten down her voice, her sobs loud enough for them to hear from the living room.

Within a few seconds, she heard pounding on the door.

“Love.” Taemin begged, his voice broken.

“Go away!” she screamed, covering her ears so that she didn’t have to listen to his voice, no matter how guilty it was. He hurt her, and he nearly destroyed her.

“Please. I can explain.” She could hear him crying too but she didn’t care.

She was tired of blaming herself for everything. She was tired of blaming herself for things that clearly weren't her fault.

“Please. Please.” she heard Taemin say. He was crying hard too but nothing could be compared to the pain inside her when she saw them kiss, the pain that was ruining her, tearing her apart.

He begged her to come out, to talk to him, but she refused to come out. She knew she might collapse or crumble upon looking at him.

Or worse, accept his apology, fall for the way he touched, caressed and treasured her and then go back to the cycle of pain and self doubt.

After what felt like hours of begging and crying, Taemin quietened down. And after sometime she heard the front door open.

She waited for some time, and then she opened the door to the bedroom and peaked out. Seeing no one, she stepped out and found Jongin lying on the sofa, completely exhausted.

Guilt washed across her, as she realised what trouble she was causing for her friend. She went and stood beside him until his eyes fluttered open and he looked at her.

“Hey.” he said, pushing himself up.

“You can have the bedroom. You should get some sleep." She offered.

"I'm sorry I woke you up." Jongin said. "I didn't mean it to get loud-"

"It's okay." She whispered, taking his hand. "Just don't...get hurt because of me? Okay?"

He nodded.

Slowly, he pulled him up and helped him to bed, despite his protests that he was fine and she needed sleep.

She lied to him that she had got enough sleep, but the reality was that she didn't want to remember any memory associated with him. Any memory that reminded her of how much they used to treasure each other. Any memory of doubt and jealousy against Seulgi or even the memory of them making out.

So she sat on the living room couch, thinking about herself.

If they had talked before like Jongin had said, would this have been avoidable?

She still wished Taemin was innocent, but what was done was done. And Taemin was involved no matter what he said.

Sitting there for a long time, she came up with a conclusion.

But for that, she would have to push aside her fear and meet up with Taemin.

Typing the password in, she unlocked the door of their shared apartment, ready to face him and fight her fear.

She stepped into a dimly lit room, the smell of alcohol strong.

Walking in deeper, she found Taemin slumped on the living room couch, bottles and bottles littered around him.

She felt her heart twist, but this time it was due seeing him like this, all wasted, and not due to what she had witnessed.

Slowly, she went and sat down beside him, not disturbing him. She could see his tear stained cheeks and she gently shook him awake.

It was eight in the night, yet Taemin had drunk himself senseless.

"Taemin." She whispered, shaking his shoulders gently.

His body twitched and turned towards her, his head dropping towards her body. She caught him and sighed, pulling him into a hug.

"Taemin, wake up." She said, still softly, patting his head.

His eyes fluttered open and he blinked a few times before they adjusted to the darkness and he could see her properly.

"L-love?" He asked, his voice strained like he couldn't believe she was here.

Immediately she felt his arms go around her waist as he snuggled into her.

"Yes, it's me." She murmured, gently brushing his bangs away from his eyes. "Why are you drinking so much?"

She felt him shake and knew he had begun crying again.

"I thought you won't come back." He sobbed. "I thought you left me forever."

She felt a pang of guilt, and for a second she thought she shouldn't proceed with her plan. But what was done was done. He had hurt her, intentionally or not.

"Look at me Taemin." She whispered, gently brushing his tears.

Slowly he looked up at her and she felt her already weak emotional strength flatter.

Slowly she leaned in until their lips brushed.

At first Taemin froze, but soon he deepened the kiss and pulled her in closer.

After some time, she broke it and pushed him slightly away so that she could see his face.

Panic broke into his features once more as he hastily tried to pull her back into his embrace. She allowed him to do so, but still maintained some distance between them.

"Please let me explain." He begged.

She nodded, asking him to continue.

"I never lied to you. I swear. I love you and only you and me and Seulgi never did anything behind your back. I would never-"

"Then why did you do it in front of me?" She asked, her voice oddly choked.

He gulped.

"I love you." He whispered.

She shook her head, slightly annoyed, but she knew he was drunk so she didn't stop him when he leaned in for another kiss.

This time the kiss was hotter and salty, as both of their tears mixed with the kiss. She vaguely realised she was crying, and Taemin rubbing her back made it more comfortable.

But he had still hurt her.

"Taemin. Tell me first. I won't get mad at you anymore." She whispered.

"But you will hate me. And then you will leave me." He sobbed, this time burying his head in the crook of her neck.

She patted his back as he left soft kisses on her neck. She sighed, before pulling him into another hug.

"It was Seulgi." Taemin whispered. "She got me too drunk. A-And the guys kept making fun of me that I was a wimp because I had my eyes only on you and I never enjoyed life and I never kissed another person and Seulgi all of a sudden said it would be great idea if we would make out and-"

"Shh. That's enough." She whispered, tubing circles on his back. She wanted him to stop, not because it was hurting her but because he had begun crying uncontrollably once more.

"I love you." He whispered again, nuzzling her neck until it was wet with his tears.

She began running her hand through the soft locks of his hair in a hope to calm him down, but he just cried more, trembling in her arms.

"Don't leave me." He said again.

"I have to."

KPOPSCAPE PRESENTS: Love Fools

February is just around the corner and kpopscape is here to make it a month full of love and appreciation. Let’s go on a movie date! We are glad to announce our February event - LOVE FOOLS. This event will feature a variety of contents and concepts mostly about love.

Admit one ticket! This event is open to Kpopscape members and non-members, all you need to do is read throughout this whole post to know what to do.

GUIDELINES:

The event will run from February 6, 2021 to February 28, 2021. Each day, certain kpop idols and k-soloists are assigned to serve as a schedule of when you can release your creativity. Several entries per participant are also allowed, meaning you can make contents as much as you want! At the end of the event, we will showcase our participants’ works in a masterlist which will be pinned in the blog. Participants who are a member of KPOPSCAPE will be featured in the said masterlist (applications are still open, apply now to become a member).

For fanfic writers, feel free to write any type of fics. From drabbles to one-shots, go wild! Take note that we have a minimum word count of 200 words. Make us laugh, cry, or scared! Any genres, AUs, and tropes will do as long as it portrays any type of love.

And since our network has expanded and welcomed new varieties of content, this event is open for visual creators as well! :D Any type of content will do too: gifset, fanart, moodboard, edits, gfx, icons &/or headers, and audiovisual is acceptable. Just make sure to take note of our minimum requirements:

for gifset: min of 2 frames

for fanart: min of 1 board

for moodboard: min of 3 boards

for edits: min of 1 board

for gfx: min of 1 board

for icons and/or headers: 4 boards

for audiovisual: min of 10 seconds

Here is the schedule for the following groups and k-soloists that we will cater for this event. Note that this schedule is applicable for both fic writers and visual creators.

In order for us to evenly promote and feature each content, this schedule will be followed for participants who will take part in the event.

BONUS: on the last day of the event, FEBRUARY 28, participants can make an entry for ANY KPOP GROUP/SOLOISTS aside from the idols indicated in the calendar :D

SUGGESTIONS:

Here are some guides and suggestions that can inspire your fics and works in able to have an idea of our event's theme. Feel free to use them in your works, we’d love to see them!

For Fic Writers:

two individuals who grew up and walked their lives together as best friends who love each other platonically yet everyone thought they were a thing (i.e. bff trope; jeno x jaemin friendship as best example); - can be fluff/angst

after years of drifting apart for unexplainable reasons, you found yourselves talking over champagne glasses and hazy nights under your colleague’s terrace in a middle of a high school reunion; - can be fluff/angst/smut

as you go on a field trip, you met someone/a stranger along the way as you both hang out for hours on end and fell in-love until you needed to leave and go back. what happens after is up to you; - can be fluff/angst

a pubg squadmate/duomate au where OCs are total strangers. They interact with their mics on, character A waits for character B in the car despite the difficult circumstances during the game. Just little things that show care; - can be fluff

bff au where their friends know they’re dating but they don’t have any idea that they are; - can be fluff

holidate au where character A desperately finds a fake boyfriend/girlfriend to avoid being interrogated by their relatives. The chosen stranger as bf/gf joins character A in every holiday together with character A’s family until they’ve grown real feelings towards each other (inspired from Netflix’s film, “Holidate”);

drive-in dates / meetups;

manga shop encounters;

interaction/exchanges through little notes tucked in between library books;

“i made you a playlist but you stayed up all night listening with him instead.”;

an invitation to a date concept (pining): until character A ends up agreeing to a cup of coffee with character B;

two strangers fought over a dog’s custody in an adoption center. Authorities suggested to split up the ownership to both of them as they were practically neighbors – sharing the dog in between weeks (what happens after is up to you); and

mutual pining.

For visual creators:

Few more reminders:

for fic writers, put proper warnings on your tags (feel free to consult our admins about this if you are unsure);

for visual creators, give credits to the rightful owners of your contents (if you happen to borrow or get inspo from other’s work);

seek fansite and fancam creator’s consent and rules regarding their works before using them;

we do not tolerate white-washing;

no NSFW contents for minor idols;

We also keep our followers in mind by dismantling the barrier that is often put between content creators and those who view what they make. We are aware that our audience is just as important as our creators and we plan to include their input on events and the network as a whole. This is our network as much as it is yours, so tell us what you want to see!

Most of all, we hope that K-Neverland is a positive and welcoming environment to all who stumble upon our network. We created it to be a safe haven for both creators and viewers. Neverland is where creators can collaborate, share ideas, find beta readers, and interact directly with their audience. Anyone who wishes to become a content creator can ask questions and learn about the art that they wish to create, become motivated to contribute, and of course, eventually have the opportunity to join as a creator themselves!
