I haven鈥檛 really been here for a while and I鈥檝e meant to make this post for a month now so here it is (better late than never).
Last month I went on a road trip in the South of England with my best friends and I wanted to share with you some pictures and our itinerary 馃槉 (there will be more than one post because I have too many pictures).
Fun fact, my friends and I had an idea of the area we wanted to go but not what to do exactly, I asked Hugh Bonneville if he had some recommendations and he kindly answered back ! So we went to some of the places he suggested, we were not disappointed 鈽猴笍
We took my friend鈥檚 car, the trip to Calais was a bit less than 6 hours. We took the ferry to Dover and then we drove to Rye. It was late when we got there so we just took a walk around, it鈥檚 a nice little village, very cute and we definitely want to go back !
The next day we went to the Seven Sisters. This was the day where the weather was the worst, it was raining and windy but it was incredible ! Definitely want to go back on a sunny day. Then we went to Brighton, we saw the Royal Pavilion, and stayed there the night.
By the way, i am officially GOING to the Moby-Dick Marathon in New Bedford next month so, if anyone else plans to be there, let me know so i don鈥檛 miss you!
I just set this as my new phone home page screen. I'ma start investing research time and mental energy in planning a road trip through New England, maybe a bus tour?馃
After we visited Petworth we went to Midhurst where we found a sunflower field and watched some polo games (we had no idea if we were allowed to be there but we stayed a bit, no one told us to leave).
On the sixth day we went to Salisbury (we stayed the night not far away in a village called Downton) and we visited the cathedral. It was very interesting and beautiful and then we set off to London !
We spent the next two days in London before going to Dover for the last night to catch the ferry early in the morning the next day.
This is the shop used for Gruber鈥檚 Antiques in the Paddington films :).
Friday I took a road trip out to the Berkshires of Massachusetts. On this very bleak and rainy day I visited two beautiful 19th century cemeteries, the Fairmount in Lee and the Pittsfield in Pittsfield. Although the rain and dropping temperatures in the afternoon made for very difficult conditions, the dark beauty of the day more than made up for it. When I finally got back to my car after walking through the 2nd cemetery I visited, Pittsfield, I had to crank up the heat because my hands were freezing!
