The Adventures Of Teen Werewolves In A Town Sitting On Top Of An Evil Tree Stump
Derek/Stiles | PG | 1811w | AO3
Summary: It’s been on Stiles’s mind for a while now, the fact that their experiences aren’t recorded anywhere for posteriority. It’s when they’re looking at the mementoes in the Hale vault that he decides to bring it up to Derek.
A/N: Written for the @fullmoonficlet challenge: prompt #339 - record
"You know, I didn't realize that we never managed to put down all the shit we've been through into some sort of journal or diary, in all the years," Stiles says, shaking his head.
He's standing in the Hale vault that's still safely locked underneath the high school, still full of items from the family's history. The history that is now his too, in a tangential way. There are rows of shelves with all sorts of things on them, from mementos specific to some family members—he's pretty sure he saw a tiny basketball jersey at some point—to general items that were obviously important enough to be kept locked away. The same way that the tea that saved Malia, Scott, and Kira a while back was.
"Would you want to relive those things at some point?" Derek asks from across the vault, his tone incredulous.
"First of all, not all of it was bad," Stiles points out. "Second of all, we've encountered things that I feel would be worth having a record of, especially the parts about how to get rid of them.'
"Shitload of luck and a healthy dose of chance," Derek tells him with a snort. "With a few exceptions when we actually knew what we were doing. Most of those latter ones were also just humans fueled by anger-inducing irrational fear."
"Oh come on, Gerard would warrant an entire chapter all for himself," Stiles says.
He puts down the vial he's been staring at, right next to the tomes that he thinks are important documents, though maybe not quite as valuable as the bonds that were in a separate little safe and had been used to fund Peter's unintentional—or well, not deliberately conscious—deadpool scheme. Derek's already only a few steps away before Stiles starts moving toward him.
"But seriously, with the amount of crap that was thrown our way," he says, walking closer, "we really should put it all down on paper or something, for future generations."
"Are you expecting all those things to return?" Derek asks. "Because I honestly really hope none of them will, ever again."
"You know some of them will."
"Monroe is not that stupid, she won't set foot in California, let alone this town, again."
"Fair. But she does have minions who don't have such self-preservation. And I didn't mean the hunters either, I'm sure there's enough said about them in all the world's packs' records," Stiles tells Derek, reaching out to link their fingers. "I meant more things that go bump in the night. And not the fun kind of bump."
"So, what are we talking about? The Dread Doctors? Because we're several decades away from those being around again, provided someone who's currently human will decide to go down that route for immortality."
"No, I meant things like the Kanima," Stiles replies, his lips tugging into a smile. "We could absolutely get Jackson to help with that one, past and present."
"There's already all that information in the old Hale Bestiary," Derek points out. "Remember where we got it from when he was evolving? Into the creepy thing that I hope never to see again."
"But he didn't and I bet there's nothing in there about a Kanima becoming part werewolf. Or about the way its tail continues to be usable after that transformation," Stiles says with a grin.
"That face you're making is telling me that there are things I do not want to know about Jackson's tail. Ever. Not even if it would help in the future."
Stiles chuckles and tugs on Derek's hand, pulling him closer. He can feel the metal of the ring on Derek's finger against his hand and it makes his heart flutter, still. They've been married for over a year now and the thrill of it hasn't worn off yet. Stiles isn't sure it ever will.
"All I'm saying is, maybe it would be worth it to write it all down. There's stuff that's unbelievable enough that we could maybe disguise it as fiction, publish it as a book."
"The adventures of teen werewolves in a town sitting on top of an evil tree stump?" Derek suggests, his eyes sparkling with amusement.
"That's a bit of a mouthful, but for all I know, it might just work."
"You might be on to something," Derek says then, his eyebrows scrunching.
"Really?"
Stiles can't help it, he's surprised that Derek seems to even remotely consider the idea. It isn't one that Stiles thought through, just something he said in the moment, his brain wandering off on a tangent. But it feels like it might be a way to preserve their experiences along with information that might potentially help not only Beacon Hills in the future but also packs around the world. It would definitely be easier to distribute a book that is presented as fiction than it has been trying to get hands on Bestiaries and other similar records of all things supernatural.
"No."
Derek shakes his head and Stiles's growing enthusiasm deflates like a flat tyre.
"There's no way you could put in all the information that you want to put in," Derek says, then holds up a finger when Stiles opens his mouth to protest, indicating that he's not done. "You'd need to have too much info dump and that doesn't make for good fiction. But I'll admit that no matter how much I don't want to go back through the memories of those years, we probably should at least add to the information that Peter already has in his laptop."
Stiles shakes off the disappointment about having his idea—one that he thought was kind of genius—shut down, because Derek agreeing to collect and record what they know is still a win.
"You still have Peter's laptop, right?'
Derek nods.
"Then we'll need to start looking through it."
"Right now?' Derek asks with a raised eyebrow.
"Not right this second, unless you have the laptop with you.."
"I don't. And we were down here for a reason," Derek points out.
"Right. Yeah. Reason."
Stiles steps closer and leans in to press his lips against Derek's.
"Would you like to go back to looking for my birth certificate? Or should we just forget about it?" Derek asks when he pulls away from the kiss a moment later.
"I would like to keep looking, yes," Stiles says. "We can't file for the adoption otherwise."
Because that's why they're here, in the vault, digging through piles of paperwork and—in Stiles's case—poking at all the treasures that generations of Hales left behind. They need Derek's birth certificate to apply for the adoption of Leah, a werewolf cub who found her way to them a few months ago, her pack decimated by hunters adjacent to Monroe's dwindling army. They've been taking care of her since, Stiles's father officially registered as a foster parent and in charge of her. But with multiple strings pulled and with Leah already attached to them both and to the pack, they want to make things official.
Derek is back across the room and looking for the necessary paperwork when Stiles gets an idea.
"Hey, Derek?"
"Yeah?"
"Do you think I could try and take some of the stuff that we survived and make it into a story book anyway?"
"You're not reading stories about the Alpha pack or the Nogitsune to a three year old werewolf cub," Derek says firmly.
"I would not—“
"You would. But you won't."
Stiles wants to argue, but the urge only lasts a few seconds. After that, his mind comes up with all the possible results of retelling the Nogitsune events to Leah and he balks at the thought of not only traumatizing her with some of the parts but also inspiring her with some others. Her curiosity is off the charts as it is, she really doesn't need encouragement. Which is probably why Derek's putting an end to the idea before Stiles can even try to make it happen.
"I won't," Stiles says in a defeated tone.
"We'll have our hands full anyway, there's no reason to make it worse," Derek tells him, confirming that Stiles was right about his motivation. "But maybe you're right."
"Wait, what?" Stiles asks, surprised at that last addition.
"About recording things. Putting all the information together. Maybe even doing it the way you said we could," Derek tells him, looking almost like it hurts to admit that Stiles is right.
It's a tone and expression that Stiles has seen many times before, Derek grudgingly admitting that Stiles has a good point. It never fails to be satisfying.
"I get to write a book?" Stiles asks instead of openly gloating.
"We get to write a book. All of us," Derek says. "There are things that some of us know that others don't, so we'll need to work on it together. With everyone."
"Not Peter."
"Yes Peter. Seeing as there are things he’s been part of that no one else was. Also your dad."
Stiles cringes but nods. There's no one person who has all the information that he wants to write down, no single member of the pack who would know everything exactly the way it happened.
"You're right."
"I am," Derek says with a grin and he turns to a folder with what looks like paperwork that's on a shelf right next to them. "I also found what we were looking for," he adds as he reaches for the folder and flips it open.
"Yeah?"
Derek turns a few pages, then triumphantly pulls out one of the sheets in there.
"Derek S--"
"No."
"Come on, you know my first name."
"And I don't know your middle name. So you're not reading mine," Derek says, holding the printed side of the certificate out of Stiles's line of sight.
"Genim," Stiles says easily. "That's the easy one. Now can I see?'
"No."
"Derek."
"Stiles."
"Is that your middle name? Because that would be weird," Stiles says, grinning when Derek levels him with a glare.
"I'll tell you when Leah's adoption is complete, how's that?" Derek offers.
Stiles nods because he can wait that long. Maybe if he's lucky he'll even get to see the documents before that, so it's a win either way. He's already won one thing today, the fact that they'll write down all the things that happened in their lives up to this point. He hasn't said it, but part of why he wanted to was so the future generations would have a record that would be easy to find, notes on all the possible dangers they could face.
So that when Leah will grow up, she'll be better prepared for the world than he was. When Derek reaches for his hand and links their fingers, Stiles figures that maybe he gets it too.

Sterek proposal please?
Sterek proposal please?
Thank you for the ask!! I just adore them both so much!! 😭😭❤️💘💓
Tumblr media
Derek was pacing, his mind racing, the heavy feeling in his chest swirling down his limbs and stilling his wandering eyes. The pack was all here, Erica and Boyd cuddled in a single chair, Allison and Issac tossing their child in the air, the little girl squealing happily. Scott and Kira laying against the couch, the kitsunes stomach swollen with their son. Lydia was speaking lively to Jackson, who'd shown up with Ethan wanting to be apart of the pack again. They were in a good place, the best place. Nothing was trying to kill them, Life was settling.
Then his eyes landed on whiskey colored ones and his heart jumped. Stiles.
The young man looked over him curiously, his eyes clouded with questions Derek could only hope he answered without words. Knowing that his jumbled thoughts would only hinder his ability to say anything comprehensible.
“Der, you ok?” Malia who he hadn't heard fell into step with his pacing, gradually slowing until they both came at a standstill. Her eyes were soft, caring, concerned. Derek tried to school his features, tried to keep all this warring thoughts at bay. There's no way he can bring this up now. “I’m fine” he thanked his stars for his voice not betraying him, the coyote ticked her head to the side before nodded slowly and ambling away from him.
“Hey sourwolf, there's something on your mind, i can tell” Derek's heart lurched and pounded in his ears. Stiles’s hand was placed softly on his arm, the immediate warmth that surged through him easing the knot that was wound up in the pit of his stomach.
He reminded himself that things were good, they were safe. “Talk to me” the soft voice of the young man brought Derek back yet again. Only now they had the attention of the entire pack. “I-” his voice died in his throat, the inability to really get his mind in order to do this. In front of his family no less.
Derek felt the change in the way stiles smelled, the content scent morphing into something akin to fear, the sinking feeling that found its way into his chest made his already pounding heart smack even harder against his ribs.
“What is it? Who is it? Is there something or someone coming? You know we can handle it, Kira may be pregnant but she still kicks ass, and we all know that Scott will never let anything happen to her. You can tell us, its ok” as always stiles went off into a long winded ramble and Derek was reminded just why he loves this man so much.
Even if his mind was jumbled up with what ifs, and possible ways this could go terribly wrong he knew that he loved stiles. He loved stiles more that breathing. If only by the fact that Stiles had saved him, more than once, saved his life, saved his sanity, how could he not fall deeply in love with him.
Derek realized that stiles was staring at him, his honey colored eyes fogged over with confusion and possibilities. Derek shook his head, clearing his mind of only the best memories he and stiles shared.
“I love you stiles. I love that you drink all the coffee before I've had any, i love that you talk so much. I love that you try to hide the snacks you love in the back of the cabinets where you think i can't find them. I adore your moles, and your eyes and the way you smile at Scott when he gets excited. I love that after all these years of fighting and saving me you love me back. And that's why this is so hard.” at this stiles frowned. But everyone else held their looks of wonder and admiration. They knew, they had for a long while, Derek had been planning this for so long.
“I love you, and I want to wake up to an empty coffee pot forever, I want to see you smile and laugh and cry and get sick and trip all the time. I want your flannels all over the house, I-I want to marry you, Mieczyslaw Stilinski Will you marry me?” somewhere in his speech he sank to his knees. Producing a ring that had taken much too long to actually be created. He looked up into the eyes he wanted to see for the rest of his life. They were misty with unshed tears and a wobbly smile accompanied them.
A collective breath was held, the room so silent the only sounds were the pounding heartbeats that stiles, Lydia and Allison couldn't hear.
“Jesus Derek, i thought you were leaving me!” Stiles too sank to his knees in front of Derek, the collection of tears finally spilling over onto his cheeks and Derek's heart seized.
“Yes, you big Sourwolf, i'll marry you!” Stiles threw his arms around Derek and everyone burst into cheers. “Finally!’ Scott blew out, his smile large and face splitting. Only for kira to smack him in the chest.
“Shut up, like you were any better. I believe your proposal was somewhere along the lines of “you're made of fire and i want you to burn me forever, please” before you dropped the ring in the couch cushions” Allison bounded over with her daughter, Sarah, who was clapping and sputtering happily.
“Congratulations, No one is more perfect for either of you” and then Lydia was mumbling to herself, gaining volume until you could clearly hear her rattling off colors and names. “Okay, i have the venue already, and ill have to dig out that old address book for the invitations and Don’t give me that look Stiles, I'm PLANNING this wedding and you know it!” Stiles’s melodious laugh floated to Derek, warming his chest and he gripped his fiance a little tighter to his chest.
“We’re doing this?” Derek's whisper was only heard by stiles. “Yes, but first we have to tell my father” a sympathetic but gorgeous smile found its way onto the younger mans face. Derek just smiled, “trust me, he already knows, he helped my design the ring” and then he tackled his lips.
They were getting married.

I really liked how you wrote the a/b/o dynamic in your last fic. It wasn't some thing that overruled and defined everything about the characters, which is so awesome because I doubt many people - Stiles especially - would deal well with that. Anyway, i thought I'd washed my hands with a/b/o fics but it's sucked me back down again. Do you have any fic recs?
thank you so much! that fic was super fun to write, and I loved cramming in all my favorite tropes :)  I’m a big fan of a/b/o, idek why, but I love it. I’m sure all the ones I’d rec are well known, but here’s a list of some of my favs in no particular order.
we can take our time by KouriArashi
Tact and social mores are completely relegated to the back of Derek’s brain, and without thinking, he blurts out, “Did you spend your heat alone?”
Stiles’ head jerks around in surprise, and then he flushes pink and looks away. His voice comes out brusque and unfriendly. “Not that it’s any of your business, but I spend every heat alone.”
Knot if You Don’t Knock by jsea, marguerite_26
Stiles never expects to present as an omega – that’s something that happens to people like Greenberg, not him. He is so wrong.
His life only gets stranger when Derek Hale mistakenly bursts through the door of his exam room during a doctor’s appointment. What happens next is a complicated series of events, including freshly baked cookies, book-carrying and surprise heats.
Build an Ivory Tower by teot
Stiles didn’t know how Derek sleeping on his floor developed into sleeping in his bed, or how cuddling ended up turning into Derek humping his ass. He didn’t agree to being knotted in the school locker room, either. But what can you do when Derek Hale wants something? He’s the Alpha, after all.
You Smell Like Mine by bleep0bleep, marguerite_26
People talk about the alpha instinct, an alpha’s head being swayed by a nice-smelling omega, or the desire to drop everything and show off. Derek’s never felt any of that. He’s just not that kind of alpha.
Then he meets Stiles.
Say It With Me (Don’t Assume) by orphan_account (I’m pretty sure this is by KuriKuri, does anyone know if this was abandoned on purpose or not, since they’re’ still on AO3 with other fic?)
Derek knows way too much about how omega heat suppressants work now, after having been partnered with Stiles for as long as he has. They’re probably his favorite thing to bitch about whenever they’re stuck on a stakeout. Of course, omegas on the force aren’t required to take them. Derek’s never really understood why Stiles does, if he hates them so much, especially –
– especially because he’s bonded.
#omegaproblems by subnivean
Stiles didn’t need an alpha. He might want one, though.
The Sanctuary by chase_acow
Stiles runs away during his first heat, right into the waiting and ambiguously scary arms of the Alpha’s nephew, Derek Hale. He doesn’t have any choice except to submit, but along the way, he digs up a mystery that threatens his family and even the town’s safety.
Old Traditions, Werewolf Edition by Footloose
Stiles does not work his Omega ass off to attract frat boy Alphas. Absolutely not. He’s at college to get his degree. If he’s crushing on an Alpha who never crosses the lines of propriety, well, no one needs to know, right?
Mix and Match by Jerakeen
Stiles walks into the Beacon Hills alpha-omega mixer with a smile on his face and three condoms in his wallet.
monday i can fall apart but by friday i’m in love by tryslora
It’s just past five in the morning and Stiles is barely awake, wearing only sleep pants that hang low below his pregnant belly, and he can’t get the damned brand new jar of decaf coffee open. But he has a neighbor, and he’s too tired to think that waking someone else up at this hour might not be the best (or politest) of ideas.
Someday Came Today by Fatebegins
“March 2, 1810…Today, I met the man I’m going to marry.”
At the age of eight, Genim “Stiles” Stilinski showed no signs of Great Beauty. And even at eight, Stiles learned to accept the expectations society held for him–until the evening when Derek Hale, the handsome and dashing Alpha of the Hale pack, solemnly kissed his hand and promised him that one day he would grow into himself, that one day he would be as beautiful as he already was smart. And even at eight, Stiles knew he would love him forever.
But the years that followed were as cruel to Derek as they were kind to Stiles. Stiles is as intriguing as the Duke boldly predicted on that memorable day–while Derek is a lonely, bitter man, crushed by a devastating loss. But Stiles has never forgotten the truth he set down on paper all those years earlier–and he will not allow the love that is his destiny to slip through his fingers . .
Rare Books and Special Collections by KuriKuri
Derek Hale hates libraries.
Unfortunately, not all books can be ordered on Amazon.
(Or: in which Derek is a grumpy omega writer, and Stiles is an annoyingly attractive alpha special collections librarian.)
The One With The Mail-Order Brides and A/B/O Dynamics by Stoney
Wolves aren’t meant to be alone. Laura tells Derek this repeatedly. Which… is why Derek knows he’s losing his mind, as Laura has been dead for more than six years. Wolves aren’t meant to be alone.
And so he sends away for a companion. JUST for a companion, not for a mate. The universe, however, has a different plan in store for him.
here comes trouble by grimm
All Derek wants is one day where he can sleep without worry of being woken by gunfire, without the threat of death hanging over his head. He wants a full stomach and no pain clinging to his bones, no ache in his feet from months of running. He wants a shower, a safe place to put his head. He wants his family, the healing comfort of pack. He’ll never have any of that again.
You’re a Mess, But You’re a Catch to Me by jsea
The laws are clear: omegas are required to have an alpha guardian. So when the sheriff gets shot, Derek is roped in to stepping up as Stiles’ temporary alpha while he recovers.
Derek knew it was going to be a bad idea, but he never could have predicted all of the ways that Stiles would end up turning his life upside down.
Worth the Wait by Dexterous_Sinistrous
Stiles always had a thing for Derek, but then again, so did everyone else. Stiles just wanted to be seen as different, which was why he waited.
But maybe he waited a little too long.
Can’t Be Saved (Not So Frail) by weathervaanes
“Kira doesn’t care a wick if you can afford her dresses and bonnets, I’m well aware. It doesn’t change the fact that I have to look after her best interests. I’d like her to be with an Alpha that puts her above all else even if he cannot afford her every luxury.”
Scott looks surprised. “I know you do not know me, sir, but I can promise you that that is my only wish. I—I love Kira quite dearly, and all I want is to provide for her, make her happy.”
“So you will marry off your brother,” Derek says, taking a sip from his drink.
-0-
In which Kira is Derek’s ward, Stiles is Scott’s brother, and omega heat cycles are good for everyone.
Fight Fires In Your Best Clothes by standinginanicedress
The key isn’t actually being confident, he repeats in his head in Lydia’s breathy voice. It’s faking the hell out of it and looking as sexy as possible while you do it. For omegas, it’s easy. There’s a natural charm to all of us that only takes seconds to engage, and barely takes practice.
Walk into the room, he chants in his head. Own it, and look people in the eyes. Find the best looking alpha, have them buy you a drink, and the rest is easy.
Fallen for You by Mynuet
Stiles is not swooning when his hot next door neighbor comes to his rescue. He’s not! Maybe a little.
Survival of the Species by Lissadiane
“I think I’m dying.” Nothing makes sense – and now Derek has left him.
“No, Mr. Stilinski,” Deaton says grimly, rooting around in his special cupboard of herbs and remedies. “I’m afraid not. You’re merely suffering from a biological imperative to bear your alpha’s children and strengthen the pack.”
Stiles considers that for a moment, as best he can with his mind a hazy mess, and then he says quietly, “I think that might be worse.”
“So, so much worse,” Scott agrees.
*In which Derek’s pack is apparently stable enough to begin planning for the future, and somehow, the universe has decided Stiles is the perfect candidate to bear his alpha’s children.
i need your sway by thatworldinverted
Stiles always figured it would be Scott who saw him through his first heat. They pinky-swore on it, in fact, when they were eleven and newly-presented. There haven’t exactly been an abundance of offers between then and now.
What there is now, though, is the pack, and pack takes care of each other.
How to Woo Your Local Omega by alocalband
Stiles knows a pity gift when he sees one. Mostly because that’s all he’s ever gotten from anyone since the moment he hit puberty.
I don’t know why, but I guess it has something to do with you by LunaCanisLupus_22
“You smell like me,” the guy says, scowling as he crowds in and Stiles staggers back between the coats and finally hits the wall. “Why do you smell like me?”
He barely lets out a garbled sound as the blood rushes to his cheeks. “No reason,” Stiles yelps, struggling to get his footing and grasping at a whirlwind of puffy fur.
Or the one where Stiles goes thrift shopping and steals an alpha’s shirt. And gets a lot more than he bargains for.

Stiles is the Hale pack’s emissary in training. He’s good at what he does, and ninety-nine percent of the time he knows what he’s doing. He does. Too bad that one percent is when he permanently links his soul to Derek’s.
Or, not quite a soulmate AU, but it kind of is, which is totally Stiles’ fault.

Everything was so much easier when  the kids were small. When the kids were small their problems had been small  too. Easily fixed by hugs or hot chocolates, with kisses to boo-boos and ten  minute time outs when they misbehaved.
Now things aren't so simple and  the problems aren't so small.
Derek and Stiles love their kids.  It's just that raising two delinquent teenagers is a lot harder than it  looked.
Adderall and All by IronRoseWriter | 4k | T
From the prompt: Derek can smell amphetemines on Stiles thanks to his  Adderall, but because no one ever thought to sit him down and say “Hey so  Stiles has pretty severe ADHD” he just thinks Stiles does drugs. Cue a super  judgemental misunderstanding.

Everyone thinks it’s a great idea and are willing to help him anyway  they can, but Scott, Scott doesn’t see the point in it.
It’s not like Stiles’ tiny spark could ever be powerful enough to be an  actual asset to the pack.

There are only so many times that Derek will go along with Peter’s plans.  He swears there is a last one, and it’s pretty likely that this is it. Really,  it should have been the time when he almost got arrested, or some of the  times before.  So when Peter asks Derek to be his wingman in Jungle, Derek says no. And  thinks that that’s the end of it.
He’s wrong.

Finding warmth in your arms (I’m not even cold) by Saori | 10k | T
When Stiles and his father move to Beacon Hills, they have to get familiar with new rules. Being a werefox, Stiles sticks out as a thumb in the small town, but thanks for his luck, he’s not the only one. He doesn’t expect that Kira and him will get close to the pack of ‘wolves whose territory they live in, so when they both fall in love with one, it takes him by surprise.
Or, Stiles and Kira are both werefoxes, recently moved into Beacon Hills. They quickly steal their way into the heart of the local werewolf pack.

“I had a dream about a boy last  night,” Mischief says through a mouthful of pancakes.  His dad points  the spatula at him and he swallows before he says anything else.  “His  name was Derek.  He called me Stiles.  I want to be called that  from now on.”

“What do you want Laura?” he  groaned, “Why am I up?”
“Because you’re going to pack a bag with whatever’s clean and come with me  back to California,” she fished a folded page out of her back pocket and  handed it over, “Someone is on our territory with a vendetta in mind.”
He accepted the paper and opened it up, smoothing it against the side of  the mattress. It was a picture, printed out from an email, of a deer with a  spiral carved in its side.

Let it never be said that Stiles wasn’t able to keep his cool when faced  with awkward situations. It’d be right maybe, but it should never be said.
Stiles gasped and spun around,  eyes finding Derek immediately. The poor guy looked a bit shell-shocked.
“Oh my god! Dude!” Stiles  flailed his arms and lunged forward, tripping a bit and catching himself on  Derek’s arms. “You have to fake date me!”
 “What?”

Derek wasn’t sure how he’d gotten himself into this particular  situation. Sure, he’d gotten used to the pack in his space. But Stiles? He  hadn’t gotten used to Stiles.

I Call All The Bullshit by lodgelinski | 3k
An incident occurs at a rave where  a group of people end up with superpowers (the same hand-waving bullshit that  gives anyone superpowers).
They, of course, decide to use  their powers for good–with the blessing of local law enforcement, which gains  them a few enemies, mostly other people at that rave who also ended up with  superpowers but have decided to be evil instead. Also, Derek is trying to  control his powers since the last time he was the weakest link. However, his  partner is Stiles, and it’s hard to control his powers (and emotions) when it  comes to Stiles, especially when Stiles is in danger.

Stiles asks, “What are you waiting for?” He still hasn’t made a move to  join Derek on the bed.
“I’m waiting for you, Daddy.” It takes everything in him to hold Stiles’  gaze.
There’s a hesitance in him every time they start this. Derek is older, an  alpha werewolf. He can’t quite get over the spike of humiliation that  occasionally works through him at the thought of wanting to give over his  control. He closes his eyes for a moment.
Wanting Stiles to take charge and take care of him isn’t a shameful thing.
It helps that Stiles is never anything but enthusiastic.

“I could totally stop talking to him,” Stiles interjects, feeling a sudden overwhelming urge to defend himself and brush the whole thing off as nothing. “I could. Easily. That’s the beauty of talking to someone online; you can just, like, talk to them for however long you want and then disappear for however long you want without any real impact on your daily life. It’s not like I’m going to run into him at the grocery store. I could stop at any moment.”
“But you don’t,” Lydia points out.
“No, he doesn’t,” Scott replies, forcing Stiles to scowl at him. “He just got a new one this morning and he hasn’t stopped talking about it.”
Or, the one where Stiles has been talking to some guy that he doesn’t know online, but that’s the least of his worries when a new pack moves into Beacon Hills, and Stiles suspects the alpha of bringing a coven of witches with him.
In Which Derek Has the Worst Luck, Maybe by maraudersourwolf | 7k | M
Derek has a crush. He’s doing all he can to hide his feelings. It’s pretty  easy, since Stiles barely seems to know Derek exists. Hook ups, a school  project that’s half their grade and teenage awkwardness puts his luck to the  test.
In Your Eyes by Hi0ctane | 3k | T
Since the first day of moving in, Stiles had never really seen the  neighbours do anything. His father (who had apparently met some of them  early, before work, and exchanged some pleasantries) told him that it was four  of them: two girls and two guys, all siblings of one family, but that was  about it. Sometimes Stiles thought he saw one of them exit the house, usually  early, even before he headed to school himself; he could only hear voices,  then, drifting up to his bedroom window, loud and usually cheerful, sometimes  rowdy.
“They’re lively,” his father said, with the indulgent smile of a man that  raised a teenager himself on the back of macaroni and cheese and sometimes  far too much hard liquor. Stiles preferred the term “They’re really  annoying”, but sure, lively should work for them, too.

Feeling the full wrath of Lydia Martin, Scott quickly changed his argument  to one of defense, leading to one small comment about how Stiles hit Theo  first, which only stirred a hurricane of harsh insults. Lydia’s face  brightened, just a tone lighter than Scott’s own crimson cheeks.
“Stilinski, Raeken, and the rest of your little entourage! Principal’s  office, now!” Coach shouted over the mayhem, as he pushed his way through the  crowd. Taking one look at Stiles who was still attempting to catch his breath,  Coach motioned his hand towards the teen, “oh, for the love of God, someone  get Stilinski to the nurse!”
Or, the time Theo Raeken ruined Stiles’ life, which somehow ended with him  being even closer with the Hale’s. Oh, and did he mention that he was apparently  magic?

My point is, pick  one and then tell the story from an outsiders POV. Because if there are two  tropes I really love it’s Fake/Pretend Relationship and Outsider POV. Thing  is, I hardly ever see them together. If you could include the Hale pack (Boyd,  Erica and Isaac) that would be great. There  aren’t many other people in the cinema, but the ones that are there keep  shushing him so Derek doesn’t have to.
Twist is, the movie sucks. So Derek finds himself actually listening to  the kid’s continuous babble. And it’s kind of… intriguing? This ‘Stiles’, or  whatever he calls himself, is clearly ten different kinds of crazy, but Derek  can’t help but want to find out more about him. Like, when Stiles is talking  about something random, Derek is imagining the questions he would ask if he  could. And does a mental high five when Stiles answers them anyway. And kind  of. Gets annoyed. When the other people in the cinema shush him so he can’t  finish his sentences. God, what is HAPPENING to him?

Merry Christmas, @adventures-in-mangaland!
Happy Holidays my dear! Hopefully this helps with your soulmate AU/ Fake Dating Trope fix :)
*****
A Shitty Bar
Everyone imagines what their first conversation with their soulmate would be.
You have half a conversation tattooed above your heart, it seems only natural to imagine what the other half was.
The movies always got it exactly right, pulling the other half of a conversation out of thin air with poise. The romance natural as characters knew with a single unique sentence exactly who their soulmate was.
They never included the fights, the platonic soulmates, the innocuous words that people heard so often they missed their soulmate. The movies never included that majority, those whom only realized who their soulmate was after they had already left the coffee shop.
Derek never worried about that, his soulmate had made sure of that. Derek had no idea what the other half of that conversation ever could be.
He’s pretty sure he speaks second, but even after years and years of thinking about it, he had no idea what he ever could respond to “I’ll give you twenty dollars to allow me to pretend to suck your dick and an extra twenty if you pretend that I’m the best you’ve ever had because my douchebag of an ex is in this shitty bar and when I caught him cheating he blamed it on my horrific blowjob skills.”
Derek also feels bad for his parents, who themselves met in kindergarten asking about crayons, who had to explain exactly what all of that meant when Derek finally distinguished the scrawled writing across his chest when he was five.
It was all very vague, until high school when the locker room became a place to brag about your soulmate conversation.
Derek himself tried to keep his words to himself, they were crude, and he didn’t want anyone else making them cruder. His soulmate was going to be unforgettable and he wasn’t going to let anyone make that a joke.
Statistically most people met their soulmates in college, Derek thought it had to do with the massive amount of people you met, but Derek had graduated years ago, and he was still alone.
His sisters had apparently even posted his profile on one of those matching sites, that paired soulmates together by potential conversations, and then set you up.
Derek still wasn’t sure if those worked. It certainly never did for him, on the three dates he had been set up on had all ended when he introduced himself politely first.
Despite the crushing defeat, Derek dragged himself to the dive bars of dive bars every Friday night, waiting for him to be in the right shitty bar at the right time to save his soulmate from his douchebag ex.
And while Derek hadn’t met his soulmate, Erica had met Boyd with a “I’d use a terrible pickup line if I thought it would work on you,”
Isaac had met his sister Cora with a “Scarves in July show you’re a pretentious douche,” and Kira had met a puppy-like Scott with an apology.
Derek had gotten food poisoning twice this month and contemplated whether or not his soulmate was still dating his douchebag ex who was cheating on him.
*****
Bachelorette parties made less sense if the groom was there.
But with Kira getting married, he was off to a bar owned by Scott’s best-friend for a bachelorette party that included everyone in the wedding party, including Scott.
Derek didn’t even try to understand exactly what Kira was thinking. He only knew when he was supposed to show up, and when he could leave.
The evening was fun, stalling through a series of awkward side conversations with Scott’s friends, while Kira beamed as if the whole world had aligned for her.
Of course somehow it had.
Derek was just grabbing the next round when he felt someone sling an arm around his waist, and a voice ran in his ear, saying very familiar words in a much more masculine voice than Derek had ever imagined them.
“I’ll give you twenty dollars to allow me to pretend to suck your dick and an extra twenty if you pretend that I’m the best you’ve ever had because my douchebag of an ex is in this shitty bar and when I caught him cheating he blamed it on my horrific blowjob skills.”
Derek swung around, falling into whiskey eyes before uttering his very first thought. “This is the shitty bar.”
Derek couldn’t get over it.
This wasn’t a shitty bar. It was cozy. What was his soulmate thinking?
His soulmate.
Those were words he was more than willing to roll around his brain. Because he could already tell his soulmate was going to be as unforgettable as he imagined.
The man laughed, throwing his head back, “I certainly hope not, I own it after all.”
Derek was still trying to process that this was his soulmate, when someone else entered their space, interrupted their moment.
Derek was already turning to glare the man away when he felt the man at his side stiffen.
The voice that came out of his soulmate was strangled, “Brian, what a surprise? In my bar. Where you were never supposed to be…” and as the beautiful man trailed off, Derek slipped an arm around him, pulling him into his side and smiling down him.
And then it all broke down as the interloper’s snide voice broke the reverie, again. “Stiles. Who’s this?”
Derek has never felt so objectified and condescended to in his life, but his soulmate had a name now.
A name that was strikingly familiar, now that he thought about it.
But first, it was time for Derek to defend his soulmate from his douchebag ex.
The moment he had been preparing for years.
From the moment he understood that his soulmate was going to date other people and that those other people were going to be shitty other people who cheated on him.
And so he drew himself, thanked the gods he was wearing his leather jacket and scowled.
It was a face Erica said made him look like a serial killer, and judging from the way Brian took a step back, it was working.
“I’m his soulmate. You must be the douchebag ex I know so much about.” Derek allowed himself to smile, “Now if you’ll excuse us, we were having a pleasant evening at our friends’ bachelorette party.”
And Derek grabbed Stiles’ hand to walk away when the douchebag stepped in front, and laughed. “His soulmate? What a fucking joke. Knowing Stiles he just walked up to the first nice guy he saw and begged you to play his date.”
And that cruel laugh echoed again, while Derek smiled with more teeth than joy.
Stiles looked ready to fold in on himself, a look Derek wanted to ensure never happened again. The joy of this moment was being ruined by this douchebag, and Derek was done. And he felt the rage boil, the rage for his soulmate, this person he always knew was going to be his, and decided to let go.
“Stiles always deserved better than you. Better than your cheating ways. Better than your derisive comments. Just better. And that is what I am. Better.” And Derek pushed past the douchebag ex, pulling Stiles behind him and out of the bar, breathing in the cold air to try to calm down.
“Dude, I can’t even. I’m so sorry. And Brian, and oh my god I can’t believe that is what’s tattooed on you. How can you even look me in the eye? Oh my god, Scott isn’t going to believe this. Also what were you thinking, This is the shitty bar. I was always wondering what I could have possibly said to make you say that. There is no punctuation with soulmarks, you know. I always thought you were just going to insult my bar right off the bat. But no, I propositioned you. Even worse I fake propositioned you. Oh my god, your parents must hate me. This is so much better than I ever thought this would go. You just defended my honor. I think I could marry you. Did you see his face. Shit, I just asked you to marry me before our first date. Oh my god, I’m making an even worse impression than my first impression.”
And Derek decided to just take his moment, pushing his soulmate against the wall and kissing him.
His smile broke the kiss.
He was right about one thing. His soulmate was going to be unforgettable.

Scott is the flattest series regular in Teen Wolf. Teen Wolf dropped the ball with Scott. He’s surrounded by characters with amazing depth and character growth. He is the main character of the show and yet he’s the one everybody dislikes. I don’t dislike Scott. I don’t mind Scott, actually. He’s a good character, just like most characters in the show. But, I don’t love him. Same goes for a lot of people, as well. For a character we’re supposed to like, he’s not really that likable. In the beginning of the show, Scott started off as a bit of a naive, not the sharpest tool in the shed kid. But, I liked him anyways. His stupidity was funny to me and that gave him a bit of charm, weirdly enough. Then, seasons later, he becomes super mature. He develops a hero complex and has this thing against killing no matter what. He definitely took a turn for the worse throughout what you’d call character development. Scott became a flat character.
There was this old trend in literature about making the protagonist what you call an, ‘Epic Hero’. Basically, it’s a perfect hero. And Scott is by no means a perfect hero, but the show-writers gave a half-assed attempt to make him this God-like figure who could do no evil, who’s never selfish and always selfless, and who saves everyone because he loves everyone and tries to protect his friends no matter who’s bad or good. The thing is, we don’t like perfect heroes. Do you think an average person will look at Scott McCallHimPerfect and say, “he wants to save everyone. My god he’s just like me. He believes in good and evil. Damn I love him, just like me.” Nobody says that because Scott is not relatable in the slightest. He doesn’t have a personality other than, girls. Save people. Allison pretty wanna marry. Must not kill kill equal bad.
Do we even know anything about Scott? It might be just me, because I haven’t seen the show in a while. But what interests does Scott have? Because I don’t think we know the slightest about his hobbies and interests other than he plays lacrosse and likes to save people I guess. Do we ever see why he went to UC Davis? What does he want to be when he’s older? So yeah. Not only do we know next to nothing about what his personality and life is like outside of the supernatural, but he also acts all high and mighty. Bad combo.
One of the most annoying Scott moments—for many people—was when he yelled at Stiles for ‘killing’ Donovan without even listening to him. He took the word of Theo, some dude he barely knew, over his best friend. So, he was flipping his shit about Stiles killing someone because as he says it, “we don’t kill.” Despite the fact that almost all of the pack members and their allies have killed before. Scott develops this viewpoint on life throughout the series. He takes on this black and white view on life, thinking that if there’s someone against the pack, they’re a villain. They’re bad. But, if they’re an ally, they’re good. He doesn’t take into consideration that people are morally grey. He doesn’t recognize that the world isn’t black and white. There’s no such thing as good and evil. We’re all just...people. Scott never gets this fixed. He doesn’t make room for the thought that people who kill aren’t always evil. I feel bad for Stiles, because yeah, maybe Stiles could’ve explained what happened better, but the fact that his best friend wouldn’t give him a pass for self-defense is sad. Malia killed when she was eight and he never seemed to care. Kira killed that one guy when she revealed herself as a Kitsune and he she got a pass. Derek has killed many people and he doesn’t care. But the second Stiles kills someone, it’s suddenly an issue to Scott. Hypocritical, much?
In addition to all this, Scott’s also not the selfless hero everyone makes him out to be. He’s actually rather selfish and he’s proven this time and time again. Scott ditched Stiles time and time again to save Allison or someone else who never needed his help. He was also more than willing to throw Derek under the bus and blame him for some murders. I can’t remember any more times he’s done this, but let me know if you remember other examples.
I wish that he was more like his season one self. He went from 0-100 real fast in terms of ‘maturity’ and I found that annoying. His stupider self was more charming and was more interesting. Scott was struggling with dealing with his transformation and I wish this lasted for more than one season. It would’ve made him a much better character. And I do like Scott. I know it doesn’t sound like it, but I like Scott and most of the other characters. He has his moments. Some good moments, some times I really do like Scott. But I wish he wasn’t so flat. I wish we knew a little more about him. The hero complex is an old, overused cliché and I was Scott was....y’know....more relatable.
Here seems as good a place as any to say it, so...the true alpha thing is BULLSHIT and it completely ruined Scott's character. One of my all-time favorite Scott moments was in 3a when he threatened Gerard, saying that if Gerard lied about Deucalion and people got hurt because of it, he'd come back and kill him. And almost immediately after that Scott becomes a true alpha and is like "Oh, wait... nevermind, then." Stiles should have at least said something like "Dude, Donovan was trying to kill ME," but all he ever says is "He was gonna kill my dad," which is not at all the reason why he killed Donovan. Not to mention that he didn’t even deliberately kill Donovan, it was a complete accident. The writers did that whole, ‘he was gonna kill my dad’ thing on purpose. If I was Stiles, I’d say, “seriously, Scott? That psycho was literally trying to kill me! And I didn’t even kill him! He fell and impaled himself!” The thing about his dad was to create more of a divide. But leaving out that Donovan was legitimately trying to kill Stiles is even more annoying to me because it leaves them room for Scott to be like "I know the difference between murder and self-defense," later on when they reconcile. If Stiles says it outright then Scott looks like too much of a dick for not taking that into account. But all of that only still makes sense if you've forgotten that Theo specifically said that Donovan went after Stiles when he lies to Scott about how it happened. So, it's already been (at the very least) implied to Scott that it was a self-defense situation (that got out of hand, according to Theo), but because Stiles doesn't specify that it leaves some (less than plausible, but okay) room for Scott to backtrack and be all "Well, I didn't know THAT. THAT changes everything." That's why that "lie of omission" bugs me so much. Stiles was not obligated to share his trauma with Scott if he didn’t want to. And Scott’s neither Stiles’ alpha, father, nor authority figure, so he doesn’t get to judge/condemn Stiles or demand an explanation from him. Not to mention that Scott is the very same hypocritical scumbag who threw a temper tantrum when Derek didn’t let him assassinate Peter like Scott WANTED and DEMANDED in Season 1, tried but failed to assassinate Gerard because ”He threatened to hurt my mom! I had no choice!” in Season 2, and conspired with the likes of Deucalion to assassinate Josh and Tracy in Season 5. Scott committing premeditated attempted murder for his own benefit and using Derek as his own personal murder weapon is good, but Stiles accidentally killing Donovan in self-defense to protect himself and his father is wrong and Stiles is a monster?! Lmfao sure, Scott! Scott McCall is a true something alright. A true hypocrite Stiles didn't because he was in a self destructive spiral. He didn't think he deserved to be forgiven and he thought he should lose Scott. The Dread doctors were constantly reinforcing his negative thoughts about himself through Theo and his own hallucinations because that was his greatest fault and source of his trauma
in the beginning scott was more than willing to kill to get what he wanted (for example when he was gonna kill peter since he thought that would cure him), which was always funny to me idk. i do love scott though especially the first 2 seasons scott since he changes after that, but he’s not the strongest character in the series and they should’ve done the whole ‘true alpha’ stuff differently imo
Scott McCall is literally the blandest, flattest, weakest, most useless fictional character ever. He’s just a badly written and portrayed Gary Stu and a judgmental bigot with abusive tendencies and no character development. Scott became a “True Alpha” due to his canonically nonexistent strength of character, virtue, moral superiority, and force of will, he’s never held accountable for his abusive actions and behavior, and the only time people dump his toxic ass it’s either not his fault or they are being wrong, psychotic, and unreasonable. Scott is such a Gary Stu it’s like a 12 year old on an ego trip wrote him. Scott yelled at Stiles, played judge, jury and executioner with Stiles, and accused Stiles of being a violent, unstable, dangerous, inhuman monster and a serial killer for choosing not to share his own trauma with Scott and for daring to accidentally kill Donovan in self-defense in Season 5; and yet Scott’s the one who threw a temper tantrum when Derek Hale didn’t let him assassinate Peter Hale in Season 1, conspired with Gerard Argent behind everyone’s back and used Derek as his murder weapon because “He threatened to hurt my mom! I had no choice!” in Season 2, lied to Kira about her fox to control her in Season 5A, plotted/conspired with Deucalion to assassinate innocent chimera victims Josh and Tracy in Season 5B, played up an injury that had long healed just to convince his friends to help him and not abandon him again in Season 5B, and wanted to sacrifice Tierney and Jiang to a mob boss to save his own ass in Season 6. There are 100 episodes suggesting that Scott is more than comfortable with killing someone, with lying, and with engaging in violent actions (premeditated murder) to protect himself and his mom despite all his big “killing is bad and wrong” speeches. Scott McCall is a true something alright. A True Hypocritical Asshole and Toxic Friend I remember this one time where Isaac told Scott he liked Allison and wanted to kiss her and Scott just threw him against the wall for having the internal thought to kiss her. He didn’t even do anything!! Plus, when your friend, who’s a survivor of abuse, advises you to hit him, you don’t actually do it!
And I love how Scott gave absolutely no sign of being gay, he’s even said numerous times he likes girls. Take those numerous denies over Stiles’ silence when asked about liking boys. Sceo is the worst ship I’ve ever come across of. The only ships regarding Theo that make sense to me are Thiam (Liam x Theo) and Steo (Stiles x Theo). The others, however, are total crackships. The fact that Theo didn’t show any care or remorse after he killed Scott proves it. And, they barely have any interactions after season five and the times they do, Scott is advocating Theo being sent back to prison. How is that shippable material?
”I’ve heard a lot of the defense of Scott McCall SWAT team, and I’ve heard a lot of them are hypocritical and mean. You can’t pull the race card because we don’t like a character. Scott is just bland, it’s got nothing to do with racism” You took the words right out of my mouth. Scott Stans pull out the “Scott McCall is a poor oppressed Mexican brown boy leader protagonist” every time Teen Wolf fans criticize Scott’s canonical abusive actions and behavior. They also claim that pointing out that Scott was unhealthily obsessed with Allison is racist, even though anyone who watched the actual show knows that Scott is canonically unhealthily obsessed with Allison – so much that he abuses Isaac out of sheer jealousy and hallucinates Allison making out with Jackson TWICE Exactly! Especially because he shoved Isaac into a wall just for thinking about Allison, AND SCOTT AND HER WERE BROKEN UP. He is super possessive of her to the point where he is interfering in Allison’s love life when they weren’t even together. I know there’s a bro-code, but Isaac didn’t even do anything. All he did was think about kissing her and he got thrown into a wall. And yeah, the Tumblr post said Stiles was obsessed with Lydia and nobody calls it out. Stiles was obsessed, but at least he didn’t react poorly when Lydia moved onto another boy. Scott McCall being a toxic friend and an even shittier character is not a Latino thing. It’s a Scott McCall thing

A Christmas Engagement
My contribution for the Stydia Secret Santa. I hope that Akoni @stydiahappenedin2017 enjoys her piece. Her guidelines were loose so I wrote her a Christmas Engagement piece.
You can read it on AO3 and FF.net on the 15th.
The piece is below the read more.
Stiles looked around their apartment, everything looked clean and in order. He was hosting the Secret Santa this year and it was more daunting than he thought it would be. With the pizza and wings on the way, there was nothing left to do. He had shooed Lydia out of their apartment the day before so that he could wrap her gift in peace and he could clean. While he hadn’t gotten Lydia for the Secret Santa part of the evening, he knew that his girlfriend of ten years was going to expect a gift of her caliber at the end of the night.
When they’d moved back to Beacon Hills because it was close to Stanford University and the FBI office, Stiles had received a great deal on his apartment what with his dad still being Sheriff and his landlady being a family friend. So, Lydia moving in to his apartment had made the most sense. She had finally finished putting all her things away. Leaning against the island in the kitchen he looked over at the little gift boxes one stacked on top the other under the tree he crossed his fingers.
Glancing at his watch Stiles raised an eyebrow, it wasn’t like Kira, Erica, Malia, Allison, or Lydia to be late. With the four of them it was a miracle that their respective partners were on time. As the clock ticked by and it was encroaching on half past seven. Stiles was resisting the itch to text the group chat. Another ten minutes and the itch had won out. He was in the middle of typing out ‘where y’all at?’ as the apartment door opened and all nine of his friends stumbled in. Raising an eyebrow as Boyd, Isaac, and Theo stood behind everyone else holding the pizza, wings, and alcohol.
“I thought you all bailed on me?” he said walking over to where his friends and girlfriend were laying on the floor. Holding out a hand to Lydia, he smiled as she took it and allowed him to pull her up. Holding her tight, he placed a kiss on her cheek. “Remind me next time that I hate spending time apart.”
“Oh I will, especially since I had only just moved my stuff into the apartment three days ago,” she said leaning into his hug and returning it just as tight. She pulled back just enough to place a soft kiss to his lips. Stiles returned it, to the boos from their friends.
They broke apart laughing and the two of them stepped aside so that everyone else could get up and properly enter the flat. They’d all hung out here hundreds of time, so the guys headed over to the kitchen island to put the food down and put the alcohol in the correct spot. Lydia stepped away to go grab her already wrapped gift from the linen closet and the other girls started unloading the gifts under the tree.
Stiles smiled at his girlfriend and walked over to where the guys were standing around, opening beers and chatting. Nodding in thanks to the handed beer from Scott, he looked at his friends. Allison and Isaac where celebrating their first Christmas as a married couple. Boyd and Erica were going on year five and had to leave around ten to catch their midnight flight out to Boyd’s grandmothers in Baltimore for the holiday. Scott and Kira had gotten married right out of high school to no one’s shock. They’d eloped and then come home from their first semester at two different colleges married. Oddly it had worked for them.
Malia and Theo had just gotten back together after a decade apart. They were good for each other, Stiles would be lying if he said that he suddenly liked Theo now. While indifferent towards the newest addition to their group, he had to admit that Malia seemed lighter. As for himself and Lydia, they’d dated long distance throughout their undergrad with Lydia and Stiles taking turns in visit each other. He’d gone on to get a masters in criminal psychology before officially joining the Bureau, and Lydia had recently received her Ph.D. in theoretical mathematics from Stanford. With his fourth year at the Bureau ending and Lydia settled into her teaching position at Berkley, they were finally in the same spot.
Boyd raised his eyebrow at him, as he gestured towards the bottles of champagne in his fridge. Stiles just smiled and winked at him. When Boyd grinned and clapped him on the back, Stiles was eternally grateful for having a friend like Boyd who was an expert at the art of silent conversation. Turning to Scott, he slung his arm over the doofus’ shoulder and clinked their beers together.
The girls had all sorted themselves with glasses of wine and a glass of sparkling grape juice for Alison, as they grabbed paper plates from the counter. Stiles eyes followed the subtle movements of Lydia moving around his-no their apartment with ease, deftly knowing where anything she might need was. Her laughter twinkled around the room as they stood there, putting pizza on plates and laughing about the volume of wings they’d ordered.
“Stiles are you even listening?” Isaac’s voice cut through his thought about how he loved it when Lydia wore that dress. Turning back to Scott and Isaac, he raised his eyebrow.
“Of course-” when they gave him a look, he just laughed and shook his head, “no not at all.”
“We were asking if you and Lydia had any plans for the new year,” Isaac asked looking at him eyebrow raised.
“You know we’ve talked about it a bit and we really want to use our days off to go travel Southeast Asia or Africa,” he said shrugging nonchalantly and looking at his friends. “Speaking of plans, how did Mr. Argent take the news that you and Alison are finally having kids?”
Isaac blanched and took a swig from the scotch in his hand. Scott and Stiles burst into laughter as Boyd and Theo moved over to them. After Scott recapped what had happened, Theo shook his head and whistled. “I do not envy having to tell that man anything.”
Stiles, Scott, and Boyd all nodded looking at their friend in mock sympathy before laughing again. Soon the conversation turned to the cases that Stiles was working, the animals at Scott’s vet office, Theo’s work at the station and how Beacon Hill High was doing now that Isaac and Boyd were teaching at it. Stiles tuned them out, humming and hawing at the proper moments, his thoughts and eyes enraptured with the strawberry blonde vision across the room sitting with the girls, giggling at something Kira said.
Scott followed his best friends’ eyes to his girlfriend and grinned. Stiles hadn’t been able to ever focus on the world around him when Lydia was in the room. The rest of the group had been shocked that Stiles and Lydia had been the last ones to get married.
Scott understood, though. While the love the two held was nauseating to everyone around them, they hadn’t ever mentioned a desire to further their relationship as they were both still working towards their goals and in different schools. Scott applauded his best friend’s will, to not mention that his one true goal was to marry Lydia Martin.
As he and Stiles were lost in thought the girls started to gesture to the guys who were all standing by the island eating and hanging out. It was Isaac pulling them behind him that snapped them both out of their separate thoughts as they stumbled forward. Stiles laughed and gently shoved Isaac towards his new wife. Walking over to Lydia, he slipped behind her on the arm chair and wrapped his arm around her shoulder smiling down at her. As the other four couples got situated around the Christmas tree, he leaned down to give Lydia a kiss.
“Quit it you two nerds, it is time to hand out gifts,” Kira said throwing a piece of wrapping paper at them. Lydia smirked and threw it back at her best friend.
Erica shook her head and looked at everyone waiting for them to calm down. Once there was relative silence around the ten of them she started to pass out gifts to everyone. After seven years of Secret Santa, they all had the process down. They went one at a time till everyone had claimed a gift that was given. This year the process seemed to be taking for-fucking-ever. Stiles smiled as Lydia passed up his secret Santa gift. The always split the group into two sets, so as to make it easier on everyone.
This year Lydia had gotten Boyd, Stiles had gotten Kira, Alison had gotten Malia, Isaac had gotten Theo, and Scott had gotten Erica. In the other set; Boyd had gotten Isaac, Kira had gotten Alison, Malia had gotten Lydia, Erica had gotten Stiles, and Theo had gotten Scott. As gifts were opened and hugs were given in return Stiles started to sweat.
The time was coming closer and closer. Erica winked at him as the hubbub settled and people started to shift and place their gifts with their things. She shifted back and pulled out the little box still under the tree. He smiled grateful that he’d filled his Catwoman in on the scheme. As Lydia took the box she looked around eyebrow raised. As she pulled the bow off the box. Spinning, she found Stiles down on one knee.
“Lydia, we’ve never talked about it,” he started his voice shaking, “at least with each other in a plan sort of way. We’ve been best friends since junior year, but I’ve loved you since the second grade.” Stiles cleared his throat and offered her a small smile. Lydia moved closer, tears in her eyes.
“We’re both in the same place in our lives now, we don’t have any more exams or training,” he chuckled as she rolled her eyes at him. “Well you have a few more exams, what with grading and all.” Lydia laughed outright at this and Stiles smiled back at her. “Will you, Lydia Martin, make me the happiest and luckiest guy in the entire world? Would you do me the honor of becoming my wife, though I insist you keep your last name, you’ve worked hard for those accreditations.” Finishing, he looked at her and held his breath.
For her credit, Lydia was only a little surprised, she’d had her suspicions about it since he’d asked her to move into his apartment. Staring down at the man, she had loved since she was 18, she got lost in the memories of college, illness’, and movie nights. A small cough from Alison behind her broke her reverie and she realized she hadn’t answered.
“Yes! Yes, a thousand times yes,” she said pulling him up, so she could kiss him properly. As they embraced, tears on both of their faces, the sounds of their friends cheering and a champagne bottle popping in the background filled their ears. Lydia pulled away slightly and rested her forehead against his and took a breath.

A/N: I took too long to post this, I’m so sorry I’m a very bad person. But I never got satisfied with it. It stayed finished and untouched for a couple of days or weeks and I don’t want to touch it more. I think it’s the best I could do with this story. I still hope y’all like it! The reader is the female version of Dean Winchester, as requested and none of the gifs are mine.
Tumblr media
“ Who is it?” A curious boy wearing a red hoodie and black jeans asked his father by pointing at an old yellowed photograph he had found in a dusty photo album shortly before. It was the spring cleaning.
“Ah,” his father answered by dropping the boxes he held in his hands to get closer to his son. Noah’s eyes settled at the spot where Stiles’ forefinger pointed and nostalgia invaded his sweet gaze. “It’s your mother’s family,” he finally answered, sitting down beside him. He pointed at each of the people in the picture. “Claudia’s mother, Deanna, her father, Samuel, and here’s her sister, Mary,” Noah continued sighing, a little sad smile on his lips.
“They look happy …” Stiles commented, having the same nostalgic look as his father. “Were they all Campbell?” The curious boy asked.
“Yes,” the sheriff continued. “Claudia was a Campbell before we married, as you know. Mary was her older sister. If I remember correctly, she married a man named … John … John something. His family name is quite special, a gun name… ”
“Winchester?” Stiles offered and his father slapped his fingers as he recognized the name.
“ Yes! And they had two kids, a girl and a boy, Y / N and Sam. ”
“I hope they’re happy,” Stiles commented, imagining the whole family gathered at a Christmas party.
“Unfortunately a tragedy hit them…” Noah continued and Stiles raised his head, his eyes now sad. “Mary died when Sam was six months, it made the newspapers. John raised his kids alone until his death in 2006 or 2007. ”
“But … my cousins, are they alive? ”
“At the last news, yes. But since John died, I haven’t get any news from them. And now that I think about it …” The sheriff mumbled for himself as he got up, massaging his few days beard. Greedy of his words, Stiles stood up as well to follow his father’s footsteps who circled in the room, lost in his thoughts.
“ Yes?” Stiles tried, licking his lips with impatience to know what would happen next.
“Claudia told me she came from a hunter family. At the time I thought they were hunting deer… but now that I know for the supernatural, I wonder… ”
“You wonder …” Stiles began, knowing what was coming.
“The things they were hunting were perhaps not only deer.”
Tumblr media
“Okay, so you say: not only do you have cousins you didn’t even know before, but maybe they’re hunters too? ”
“No, I said surely hunters, there’s a difference, Lydia,” Stiles corrected his girlfriend by raising a finger in front of him to defend his point.
“Whatever,” the strawberry blonde muttered, rolling her eyes.
“If they’re really hunters … they may want to … well, you know, hunt us?” Kira asked in a small, uncertain voice behind them.
“That’s exactly why we should go,” Stiles continued. “Knowing I am their cousins, they should listen to me, right? And they’ll see we’re not dangerous. ”
“So, if I summarize,” Scott spoke for the first time since the start of the meeting. “You want to find your cousins who don’t even know you exist and who are maybe …” Scott stopped when he saw Stiles’ expression, his hands raised, outraged, “surely, hunters hoping they don’t kill us, to kindly ask them not to kill all the nice wolves and other creatures who live in Beacon Hills and to help us if we ever need help? ”
“Exactly,” Stiles replied, an immense smile stamped on his face.
Wanting to find the Winchester was one thing, finding them was quite another. The hunters were known to be discreet and never leave a trace. Fortunately, the pack had a very useful element for research: Stiles’ cousins were driving a showy car. A black 1967 Chevy impala. Hearing the name of the car, Stiles had jumped, excited. He loved cars and was eager to see the vintage model.
Finally, with somewhat reliable information, the pack got to San Fransisco, where the hunters were last seen. The jeep traveled the city’s roads for most of the day and the passengers on board were getting hungry, so it was decided to stop in a small restaurant on the roadside. Everyone ordered something, Stiles hesitated between bad food and health, and opted for both, commanding a salad and French fries in accompaniment. Scott took a cheeseburger and Kira picked the same thing. After rolling her eyes, Lydia decided on a club sandwich.
While they were eating, very quiet, the brilliant body of an unusual car attracted the attention of Stiles. It was his mouth full of French fries that he exclaimed incomprehensible words before rushing out of the restaurant, running toward the vintage car.
“Son of a bitch!” Echoed on the table behind them. Someone was obviously unhappy that a hyperactive boy seemed to be interested in this car and soon the pack left their meal to join their friend.
“Wow!” Stiles kept repeating by turning around the car, totally impressed.
"Get yourself away from my baby!” A harsh, female voice rang out behind Stiles, who stepped back with his hands in the air.
“I’m sorry I only wanted to watch, uhhh, admire the beauty of this rare and quite magnificent specimen!” Stiles stammered without taking his breath and those words seemed to calm the girl because her face relaxed.
"Yes I agree, it’s a beautiful model,” she commented, giving Stiles a boost of energy.
“Chevy Impala 1967, the most beautiful model was made that year.”
“I totally agree,” the girl mumbled with a smirk. “This beauty is called Baby. ”
“ Oh! Me, my car … it’s not as luxurious as yours, of course, but it has tremendous sentimental value,” Stiles continued as he pointed his jeep. “Roscoe was given to me by my mother before she …” He didn’t finish his sentence, his eyes sad.
“My father gave me this car. He had entrusted it to me before he left and was never able to recover it because he died too,” the girl confessed to him. “The important thing is not the cash value of the car, but the sentimental one."
“I totally agree,” Stiles smiled.
Stiles was so focused on talking about his passion that he didn’t notice the man who had arrived near the girl shortly before, nor his friends behind them. He only noticed that something was wrong when Scott began to gesticulate in all directions by pointing at the two people and then the car.
“Oh Lord,” he jumped, staring at the two people in front of him, the girl wearing a leather jacket and another green jacket underneath and the man wearing a plaid shirt. “You are my cousins!"
“What?” The man finally spoke.
"Sam and Y / N Winchester!” You are the children of my mom’s sister! “
"Mom had a sister?” Y / N asked his brother by raising an eyebrow under Sam’s confused look.
Stiles rushed and showed the famous picture.
“Well! Nice to meet you, cousin …? ”
“Stiles!” He exclaimed, shaking Y / N’s hand, then Sam’s. "It’s super important I need to talk to you about something!” “
"Did you go all the way to talk to us?” Sam asked.
“Well to meet you too, you are my family and I don’t have much left …”
“I see …” Y / N mumbled. “At the moment we don’t have much time but …”
“ It’s urgent!” Stiles jumped up and down. "I must know what sort of hunter you are!”
“What my hyperactive boyfriend tries to say,” Lydia stepped forward to try to calm Stiles by placing her hands on his shoulders. “It’s if you’re a simple deer hunter or something else.” The redhead accentuated the pronunciation of the words.
"Ah,” Y / N sighed. “That’s the something else,” she replied, imitating Lydia.
“So we really need to talk,” Scott insisted, also taking a step forward, followed by Kira.
Y / N pointed in turn to the friends of Stiles.
“Have you brought all your friends?”
“That’s what we should talk about …”
“Y / N,” Sam started looking at his cell phone. “We have to go before there’s another kill.”
“Kill…?” Stiles blinked.
“Let’s go hunting a psychopathic ghost,” Y / N smiled as she walked toward the impala. “We’ll talk after. Hey, what about you all come with us! ”
“Y / N …” Sam groaned, discontented by her proposal.
“ What. Stiles is a Campbell. He has to learn one way or another. You come, you look and you stay away. Everything’s gonna be fine, Sam."
“We follow you!” Stiles hastened to answer as he got into the jeep, ready to follow them.
It was probably a very bad idea to follow them in order to find themselves deprived in front of an empty old house and probably full of new species of insects that no one wanted to discover. And above all ghosts. Since when did ghosts exist? Y / N had clearly specified not to enter the house. Stay ahead, wait, that’s it. Sam had convinced her it was too dangerous. But the pack of Beacon Hills doesn’t know the word danger and Stiles is known for his unhealthy curiosity. That’s why, when bored to wait, the hyperactive young person suddenly decided to go inside without saying anything. Lydia called, but in vain and Scott sighed, giving instructions to follow him before the poor man managed to hurt himself alone.
It was so dark in the house despite the light filtering through the holes and broken windows. Stiles felt the need to be reassured and grabbed his phone to get some light. Each of his steps made the floor squish under his feet, making him grimace as he passed.
Then suddenly and without warning, a shrill sound made him jump. Stiles turned just in time to see a rather large and imposing piece of furniture rushing at him at full speed, probably killing him on the spot. His breathing cut in his lungs and he held out his hands in front of him for the unnecessary purpose of protecting himself, but he didn’t need it. A scream tore the silence in front of him, scream he recognized and when he opened his eyes he saw Lydia not far away, her hands placed in front of her, her hair falling around her face. The furniture, as for it, was in a thousand pieces against the wall. She had just saved him again.
“Lydia …” Stiles muttered, still trembling at what had just happened.
“The next time you are told not to come in, do not go in!” The redhead sermon him before taking him in her arms, relieving to have intervened in time.
“What was that?” A female voice rang behind them. Y / N had seen everything.
And she didn’t seem happy at all.
The ghost had been defeated. Sam had burnt the object attaching him to earth and everyone was now in the restaurant, the same one where they had met to pass to the confession.
“So that’s what we wanted to talk to you about …” Scott started, as a leader. Ashamed, Stiles kept his head down and was holding Lydia’s hand under the table.
“It’s a banshee,” Y / N grunted as she stared at Lydia, who swung her head to the side before answering.
“Yes. I predict death. Something against?”
“We’ve already faced a banshee,” Sam spoke. “Let’s say she didn’t give us a very good first impression.” He finished by glancing at his sister who rolled her eyes as she took a bite out of her hamburger.
“Lydia never hurt anyone,” Stiles defended the girl he loved. “And that’s not everything.” He took a deep breath before continuing. "Scott is a werewolf. And Kira a kitsune. A lot of supernatural creatures live in Beacon Hills without ever caused any problems. Most live in fear of hunters and spend their lives hiding. That’s why I’ve been looking for you everywhere. To ask you not to hunt the people of Beacon Hills and… ”
“On many occasions we let creatures go. The one I think most about was this girl, Kate, a werewolf.” Sam began by laying down his fork. "I understand your point, Stiles. But if a job involves this city, it will be our duty to come and see what happens… ”
“But …” Stiles tried but got interrupted.
“…In order to protect the innocents of other hunters,” Sam finished with a smile. They were going to protect the town from other hunters. Everyone at the table sighed in relief, then Sam turned to Y / N who was quiet and staring at her hamburger. Her eyes squinted as if she was trying to find the secret of the universe.
“Y / N?”
“What the hell is a kitsune?”
The rest of the evening was spent with laughs and jokes. Stiles and his cousins exchanged phone numbers and they promised to drop everything to come and help Beacon Hills if the need arose. After enjoying a good cherry pie under the wide-eyed Y / N, it was the farewells. A few hugs, goodbyes and the pack returned to Beacon Hills, satisfied and relieved. The impala grumbled, heading to their next destination: Illinois, Chicago, with a background music that good old Warrant was and the scraper voice of Y / N singing over the singer as a bonus.

unexpected wedding guest ~ peter hale
Prompt - # I think that only works with the groom sweetheart,  # "do you remember that night," "it's one I'll never forget"
Summary ~it's the night before your wedding, Peter turns up at your hotel to try to stop you from marrying Scott.
Warnings - none really , mild swearing
Pairing Peter hale x reader Story ~ After months of planning and organising, your big day was almost here, in 12 hours you would be walking down the isle. Your bridesmaids Lydia, Malia and Kira hadn't long left you, You had a hen party the week before but Lydia couldn't let you sit in alone the night before your wedding. So she got the other girls round to your room with facial packs, manicure kits and champagne. You felt tipsy as they left, a quite girly night was exactly what you wanted. After taking a shower, getting out you put on your pyjamas, walking out the bathroom, you start smiling at your dress hanging up over the mirror in the main room still not believing how fast time had gone.
The was a knock on the door, stood close giggling "you know it's unlucky to see the bride don't you" you shout though the door thinking your future husband was on the other side. "I think that only works with the groom sweetheart" the voice was one you didn't want to hear but dearly missed, the voice of Peter hale. You quickly pull open the door thinking it couldn't be real but there he was stood leaning against the wall, his hands in his pockets, his annoying but lovable smirk and them bright blue eyes that made weak in the knees.
"hello y/n" he smiled, his voice was velvet soft and silky in your ears, It Filled you with a thousand thoughts and memories of him,  the sweet whispers in your ears each one more intense then then the previous. "you not going to say hello back" Peter's voice snapped you out of your daydream "why are you here Peter, it's a little late don't you think or are you just here to physically and mentally screw me one last time before I get married" you coldly say him pissed off he had the cheek to show up after he left you without an explanation 18 months ago. Peter now looked nervous rocking on his heels "no! not quite sure why I came maybe to see if you was really marrying that idiot guess its true" you huffed closing the door but he put his hand on it stopping you. "it was stupid of me to come I shouldn't be here but I needed to see you, talk to you" peter paused and gave you a big puppy dog look widen his eyes and pouting his lower lip. You clenched your teeth together trying to hide your smile at his face. Peter knew it was working so in a whinny voice "please", you opened the door for him to come inside knowing his stubbornness he wouldn't leave until you spoke with him.
"you've got 10 minutes" you said sternly as he walked past into your room. "oh we can do a lot in 10 minutes" he chuckled "don't make me throw you out" you replied back. Peter held up his hands defensively "sorry I was joking" he smirked not taking his eyes of you as he sat down. "how did you know I was here?" you asked him sitting on the opposite sofa to him. "Derek" he said you frowned wanting to smack Derek. Peter saw your face knowing what your thinking quickly said "its not his fault, I asked him why he was packing a suit he said it was for a wedding, when I asked who's he didn't want to say but eventually told me Scott was getting hitched he was part of the groomsmen" peter smugly started "so when I asked who the lucky lady was he didn't tell me I looked at his invention and I just couldn't believe it" he was sarcastic slightly smug like he'd figured out a big secret.
' we welcome you to join us at the wedding of Scott McCall + y/n y/l/n at the hills hotel on January 23rd at 3pm'
Peter mocked a posh accent as he repeated the memorised words. This angered you Peter was sat there taking the piss out of you, your relationship with Scott. "is that all you came here for to mock me, laugh at me" you started shouting at him, but it only annoyed you more when he actually started smiling and laughing "ugh what are you giggling about" you snarl at him "nothing just how adorable you are when you get mad sweetheart" he said almost sweetly giving you his flirty eyes.
"don't call me sweetheart" you said trying to remain emotionless and cold, but inside your heart was pounding for the alpha in front of you, standing up to get a drink trying to focus on something else other then the way he was making you feel. Pouring two glasses of whiskey you walked over handing him one "thank you y/n". The way he said your name was worse then any pet name he called you it was more seductive. You sat down not taking your eyes from him as he swirled the alcohol around the glass. Looking up at you catching your gaze "no I'm not here to laugh at you y/n, I'm here to save you" now it was your turn to laugh at him, his smirk dropped for a brief second, "I was right your here to mentality screw me over" you whisper to yourself pinching the bridge of your nose already regretting your next question "so why do you think I need saving?" you say a little louder, knowing he'd heard both comments.
Peter smiled "well your about to marry Scotty boy I mean come on even stiles has to be better choice then McCall, we both know your going to need saving from a boring basic future". Annoyed he was being nasty towards Scott. "and things was so fun with you" you sarcastically answer back with a snarl standing up ready to show Peter the door, but faster then you could blink Peter was on his feet inches away from you. "oh kitten we had lots of fun together" he said lifting his arm to touch your face but you backed away. "I'll tell you what wasn't fun, sitting in beacon hills park in the pouring down rain and dark waiting for you" peter knowing nothing he could say would make up for what he'd done mumbled
"sorry". You looked at him full of angry "sorry" you smacked him across the face then pushed him hard with both hands wanting him away from you "sorry not going to cut it Peter, 4 hours I sat on that bench for, bag packed waiting, to start a life together just us out of beacon hills" you voice was now shaking the memory, and pain from over a year ago was still fresh like it happened yesterday taking a breath trying to gather the strength to steady your body and tone "even when I was soaked to the skin I still sat believing you was coming for me. then Derek and Scott came looking for me, told me you had already gone even told them where to find me what did you say tell her I've gone and I'm not coming back" you didn't know if the tears running down your cheek was from anger or the feeling of you heart starting to break again reliving that night. "days I tried calling you, hoping it was a lie you hadn't left me, walked out on our 2year relationship with a word or blink or second thought. I read your message over and over
'I got your note kitten and yes I do meet me in the park at 9pm we'll leave together tonight xx' Im a fool for believing it now" you say.
Peter stepped towards you wiping a tear away his touch was soft, loving and lasted longer then it really needed to. You pulled away from him not wanting to get to close to him. You watched put his hand in his pocket taking out an envelope giving it to you. You took it looking at Peter, he downed his drink in one go and went to refill his glass. Something was off about him making you weary of what was in the envelope, opening it you saw two pieces of paper and 3 pictures. You looked at the first letter, it was your own,
Peter I don't care if you started the Deadpool or if everyone hates you, I don't I still love you and want to be with you please if you feel the same meet me take me with you.
You wanted to screw the letter up, cringing with how desperate and cheesy it sounded now. You took the pictures out, the first was of you in your sexy pink lace teddy blowing a kiss to peter who taken the picture. The next was you and Peter looking at each other in the woods, his hand touching your face. you smiled remembering when it was taken a picnic date not long after you where officially going out, you had asked Peter to take a selfie with you using your old Polaroid camera, when you did Peter hadn't smiled. "your meant to smile for the camera" you joked with him. He looked at you "I only smile when I look at you" he said back smiling  tucking your hair behind your ear, you quickly took the picture without him knowing until it came out and developed. You didn't know he'd kept this picture you thought you'd lost it the day it was taken smiling at how happy you looked you put it down. The last one was attached to the other letter unfolding it, the picture grabbed your attention and fear. It was of you asleep in your bedroom with a berserker standing over you. You looked at the writing it wasn't one you knew -
I found your weakness! pretty isn't she! Now I want your help to fix a problem I'm having, be a good wolf and come to the distillery and my friend in the picture will leave her unharmed! Don't and the next time you see sweet little y/n she'll be in pieces! Kate argent
You looked at Peter who had almost finished his 2nd drink as quickly as the first. None of you spoke at first, you sat down thinking about the letter the threat on your life how couldn't you know or why wasn't you told. Peter came and sat next to you taking the papers and pictures from you putting them back in his pocket "do you understand why I left now, I never wanted to hurt you but I couldn't let Kate kill you" he said looking down at the floor you nodded feeling numb. Peter could see how shaken you were, put his arm around you and pulled you close to him, you sank and snuggled into him enjoying being back in his arms kinda like you hadn't left. "I'd never felt so scared or powerless before" he said calmly like it was nothing, kissing the top of your head. Jumping at his touch "why now, Kate's been dead almost 7 months, Derek and argent found her body, you've had that long to tell me what she'd done so why now the night before I get married" you said backing away. He paused looking you up and down smirking "I know she's dead I killed her, and as for not coming back well Derek told me you hated me now never wanted to see me again. I saw you, you looked happy and I couldn't wreck that" he said low.
Before you could think or ask another question he chuckled changing the subject "but you know what memory has still been my anchor since I haven't had you in person to keep me grounded, keep me human". You looked at him puzzled you never knew what Peter's anchor was, he'd never tell you when you asked, so you certainly didn't expect it to be you. "no! What?" you asked coyly, Peter leaned in close to you moving your hair to expose your ear "the lost woods motel" he whispered lustfully then  slowly sat back. You blush but start laughing again. "do you remember that weekend?" He asked smirking devilishly "it's one I'll never forget" you answered "Derek's crazy ex girlfriend Jennifer almost to killed me definitely not forgetting that" you laughed. Peter rolled his eyes "I think we remember that weekend very differently" "oh really and how do you remember it, or shouldn't I ask" you said raising your eyebrows. He stood up putting his glass on the coffee table walking over to the drinks cabinet getting the bottle. He re- filled his glass holding the bottle to in a silent way of asking did you want yours filling to, you held you glass out as a yes.
Peter sat back down with his glass in one hand holding his other arm out for you to cuddle into him. As he spoke you sat close as he placed his arm around your shoulders. " Well I remember, that weekend, I protected and hid your little butt, then saved your life from the lunatic teacher" he said cocky. You giggled what Peter had said was true but you wasn't going to let him feel that smug "yep we definitely remember that weekend differently" you say "first off you didn't even want to help us Derek had to lie and trick you to get you there and trap us in with mountain ash so you really didn't have a choice" you sat up at little looking him in the eyes continuing "what was it you said oh yeah, why do I have to babysit the useless boring pathetic human girl she'd be better of dead". You paused to have some of your drink letting your words hit home.
Peter looked down, he felt bad for ever saying that about y/n. Even then he never meant it, he'd only said it to hide his own feelings. from the day Peter saw y/n he wanted her, she was gorgeous, sweet, different, funny, had her own stubborn mind and countless topics to keep a conversation interesting. Although back then Peter believed love was a weakness and a relationship didn't fit in with his plans for power then, he only truly realised how wrong he'd been when Jennifer did nearly kill y/n.
Putting your empty glass on the coffee table, you sat back but swing your legs over his in an automatic reaction, still focused on what you was saying looking him in the eyes drunkenly laughing "then when she finally found us both asleep some protection you were by the way," you said sarcastically lightly elbowing him "she was so angry she couldn't use me in her virgin ritual anymore because I slept with you, she tried to kill me anyway" you finished. Peter faked a look of shock "and what exactly is it that you're blaming for? " he said and his arm snaked round your back ticking and poking your side so you couldn't speak. You giggled and wriggled trying to get out his playful grip, trying smack and poke him back.
It was exactly like that night all over again, the play fighting, the way your heart pounded just like it had, all the feelings you ever had for Peter hale came flooding back in that moment. You moved on top of him straddling him pinning his arms back in a poor attempt to stop him, he laughed using his wolf strength to break out of your hold aiming for your sides again but instead of poking you, he held your hips looking at your eyes then lips back at your eyes. "now i remember definitely this from that weekend" you said then wrapped your hands around his neck kissing him.
Peter kissed you back passionately, holding you tight and without breaking the kiss he lifted you laying you on your back leaning over you. He pulled back with a smirk "actually this is more how I remember it" he said kissing you again. He slowly slid his hand up your thigh running his hand over your bum squeezing it as his lips moved from yours and down onto your neck. Humming and moving your head so he had more space to kiss and bite, you see your wedding dress hanging up.
You push Peter off you "stop, no I can't do this get off" you said. Peter moved instantly but looked confused at your sudden change of mind. "I'm getting married what was I thinking" you muttered to yourself pacing up and down still annoyed and angry at yourself. You asked Peter to go he put his glass back over on a small round table lingering a minute before turning back at you, you bit your lip holding the door open for him to go. Peter walked out turning before you could shut the door. "wait you asked me why I was here, well I told you I didn't know I lied. I came here because I wanted to stop your wedding ask you to leave with me tonight for good like we was going to. But more importantly I needed you to know that I love y/n and wanted to tell you your everything to me I hope your happy my little kitten". You had never seen Peter like this before his sounded desperate and needy, he looked teary-eyed and vulnerable, but what grabbed your attention was his words. Peter had never said the words I love you before. Even in the two years you were together, when you had said it to him, his answers was , I feel the same too or and you too, or ditto but he'd never used them words until tonight. For the first time Peter hale was open and honest with you, but you couldn't look at him in fear you would run off with him. He kissed your cheek "I understand" his voice quivering then walked away, you watched him disappear around the corner sinking to the floor crying, you hurt so much he was gone again, like you did the night he left beacon hill without you and so guilty for cheating on Scott.
You cried yourself to sleep that night unsure of what to do. You liked Scott he was always there he cared about you and you for him. But you loved Peter you always had the was something about him that lit a fire in you. but you believed that fire had died months ago. That was until his visit, that kiss, his confession of love. It felt like you had burly slept an hour when the alarm went off. You groaned getting out of bed feeling sick and confused about the night before and your feelings now, you went to get a coffee. You screamed jumping out your skin when see Scott sitting on the sofa, a sofa only hours before you was kissing Peter on. You felt nervous, not sure why he was there, his body language was different too you stood frozen to the spot. Scott stood up smiling at you which didn't help you felt worse then you had all night. Tears ran down your face stuttering and trying to keep your breath calm "I..... I have to tell you something, I... I'm... I'm sorry.... I did something bad.... Peter came round last night" you looked at Scott who was now laughing to himself "it okay I know he was here" he sweetly said. You stopped panicking and looked at him with confusion "how?" you asked.
Scott wanted to make a joke about watching you or stalking you but the look on your face said you wasn't in a joking mood. "Derek told me Peter was back in town" he started, you cut him off blowing loud "is the anything Derek hasn't told anyone" you say annoyed. Scott laughed more just like Peter he always thought you looked cute mad "easy he only told me Peter was in town, I knew Peter was here because I could smell his sent in the hallway and all over the room when I walked in, oh and he felt this for you on the mini bar" Scott handed you the Polaroid  picture of you and Peter. Your heart pounded when you saw it, thinking back you realised he wasn't lingering he was leaving you the photo. "also I saw Peter after he left we had a long chat about you y/n" he looked down bit smiled when he looked up at you. "I know you want Him, you always have y/n, and I can't be the one to keep you from being with the person you truly love y/n so I've cancelled the wedding because I know he loves you too" he didn't sound mad or upset.
You stood speechless insure of what was going on was Scott breaking up with you, what had Peter told him about your heated kiss, your mind went crazy over thinking. Scott broke you out of your thoughts "get dressed and meet me downstairs" he ordered. You looked at the mirror to notice your dress was missing a lone hanger left "where's my dress?" you ask. Scott looked sad again but covered it by raising his eyebrows "that doesn't matter dressed now" he said pointing to the bedroom. You went inside crying your wedding was cancelled your relationship over, Peter was gone, after calming yourself you did what Scott asked.
Once in a pair of jeans and cute jumper you walked to the lift and nervously went to the lobby where Scott stood with stiles and Lydia. You faked smiled at them wanting to hide and cry feeling depressed and lonely. "here she is" Lydia squealed as you got closer "what's going on" you asked "I've got a wed - ending present for you" Scott and stiles  laughing loud at his play on words. You was really confused now your ex fiance should be angry or upset like you was but instead joking about gifts. "can someone tell me what he's talking about?" you said. They stopped laughing and all gave you a suspicious smirk "hello sweetheart" a voice from behind you called, spinning fast on your heels knowing only one person called you by that name. Peter was stood there his hands in his pockets looking at you just like he had hours before with a loving smile "I meant what I said y/n I love you please give me another chance to prove it" he asked. Turning you looked at your three friends, who were all nodding and encouraging you to go. You smiled at Scott mouthing thank you and ran to peter hugging him as he picked you up off the ground swinging you round. Peter and Scott gave each other a look and smile of understanding and appreciation "you better not hurt her or you'll have me to deal with" Scott said to him with a smile but a flash of his glowing wolf eyes. "I won't I promise" peter said more to you then Scott "ill spend the rest of my days making up for the pain I already caused" he finished holding your hand as you both walked to his car.

May 2017
Tumblr media
This is a compilation of fics that I've read/re-read over the past month. Faves get a star ( ★ ). There is also a separate fic rec page for my favorites here and a fic rec sorter here, if you'd like to check those out. :)
MONTH: May, 2017 | (older lists)
▶▶ hazelnut, strawberry, and mint by jollypuppet ★ Teen And Up | 3,417w In which Stiles is cheeky, Derek likes dogs, and coffee is gourmet as hell.
▶▶ How to Make It Right by loserchildhotpants ★ N/A | 3,337w Stiles, in his years with Derek as his slave, has grown used to Derek's tones of voice. Derek is a man of few words - Stiles was never sure if this was just his nature, or the product of his horrific environment. With so few words to work with, Stiles learned to read Derek's body language, hear all the things unspoken in the way Derek said those few words and he learned quite quickly that silence is often many words at once.
▶▶ The Moon's Gonna Follow Me Home by turningterrific ★ Explicit | 82,866w Derek doesn't want to call the window repair guy. He doesn't want to sweep up the glass. He’ll inevitably miss a few shards and pull them out of the bottom of his bare feet for weeks. He doesn't want to try to make this place feel like home when it isn't. Derek stayed in Beacon Hills and tried to make it work because he wanted pack, wanted purpose. He gave his best effort and found himself back where he started: alone, with a few begrudging allies. He's tired, and even though his werewolf body heals quickly, he feels the weary ache down to his center. He packs his car with the few things he cares about enough to drag them from place to place. He locks the loft and calls a realtor about listing the building he'd bought in a misguided attempt to secure a future. And then he leaves.
▶▶ Under Development by dr_girlfriend ★ Teen And Up | 24,763w Environmental lawyer Derek Hale is determined to stop the planned defacement of his beloved Beacon Hills Preserve by the mammoth Starr Development company. To do so, he makes a deal with the devil himself — Stiles Starr, the brash young scion of the Starr family and COO of Starr Development. Derek hates Stiles at first sight. Mieczysław Stilinski, on the other hand, is someone that Derek could grow to like...or even love.
▶▶ 5 Times Stiles & Derek's Classmates Noticed They Were in a Committed Relationship and 1 Time Stiles Noticed by Survivah Teen And Up | 2,825w In which Derek and Stiles are college roommates, and everyone saw this coming before they did.
▶▶ All the broken hearts in the world still beat by dragon_temeraire Teen And Up | 3,354w Stiles totally needs to make Lydia Martin jealous. Yeah. And his best chance is to convince star lacrosse player Derek Hale to (fake) date him.
▶▶ Breaking the Ice by veterization Explicit | 15,411w Stiles is a figure skater turned pair skater who gets teamed up with has-been skater Derek Hale, and neither of them are exactly pleased.
▶▶ Burn It Out by Omni Teen And Up | 6,390w Everything that he was got burned out of him, turned to ash and shadow just like everyone he loved. He was hollowed out and empty, and it hurt like claws across exposed nerves. Then, it was done.
▶▶ Full On Rainstorm by BarlowGirl Explicit | 10,534w He catches Derek by the arm and Derek lets himself be turned, surprised when Stiles shoves a small box into his hands. "I don't know if you still celebrate it or what but... I wanted you to know someone was thinking about you. Happy birthday." Then he squeezes Derek's arm and bolts, gone before Derek can think to stop him. He opens the box standing there, only to find one singular, misshapen, sloppily-frosted, cupcake, with a candle in the box next to it. It's kind of squished despite the paper towel all around it to keep it from banging around in the box. Derek has to take a moment to sit down because yeah, he can't deny it anymore. He's gone on Stiles.
▶▶ Good Thing Going by SylvieW Teen And Up | 4,989w Stiles has been dating Jennifer for months when he finds out she's been seeing someone else almost as long, but didn't tell him. When he confronts her, he doesn't expect the other guy to be blindsided... or so damn hot.
▶▶ Hot & Bothered by Inell Teen And Up | 3,651w During their first photo shoot together for the House of Eros, sparks fly between Stiles and Derek.
▶▶ Hunger by DiscontentedWinter Mature | 55,382w Beacon Hills. Two lost souls. A homeless boy, a lone wolf, and people who will stop at nothing to destroy them both.
▶▶ In Name Only by Cobrilee Explicit | 15,089w In a world where no one finds out who their soulmate is until after they get married, Stiles concocts the perfect scheme: marry his long-time client, Derek Hale... You know. Just to find out who he should be marrying. There's no way this could go wrong.
▶▶ First Date Series [1] Is It Cool if I Hold Your Hand? by HalfFizzbin General | 1,343w "So," says Sheriff Stilinski, raising one eyebrow. "You decided not to play video games at Scott’s, after all?" "Uh," Stiles says. His eyes are wide and caught-out, and he's got his arms wrapped around two giant tubs of popcorn. Beside him, Derek Hale—the same Derek Hale that the Sheriff last saw in his interrogation room—is handing a $20 bill to the cashier and clearly trying to appear as casual as possible. He fumbles the change three times before he gets it into his pocket, though, so it's a lost cause.
▶▶ Staying by hazelNuts General | 678w Stiles and Derek are on a trip, and can't help but feel like he's already ruined it.
▶▶ Sundae Mornings by raisesomehale Teen And Up | 5,463w Derek had had his doubts when Cora first suggested their family play host to a foreign exchange student from Poland, but it wasn't until the kid arrived that Derek really began to resent the entire program. Sure, Stiles Stilinski cleans up after himself – never not a perfect gentleman around the house – and gets straight A's while still somehow managing to make friends insanely fast. But he's also cocky and sarcastic; quick witted in a way that can tangle Derek into a neat, flustered little bow with only a few choice quips. The worst part is that English isn't even Stiles' native tongue, and he still manages to be better with it than Derek. Bested at his own damn language.
▶▶ Teenage Dream by matildajones Mature | 58,596w After an accident, Stiles wakes up to what can only be a dream. He has money, he has fame, he has award winning actor Derek Hale as his husband. It quickly seems more and more like a nightmare because Stiles doesn't remember getting any of it - and it's hard to accept the reality that Derek can still love him.
▶▶ The Long Way Around by banryeo, secondstar Teen And Up | 10,293w After searching through his family's vault, Derek finds a key to a vacation cabin that his family own. He decides to fix it, along with allowing himself to heal for the first time since his family's death. In taking the time for himself, he comes to realize his feelings for Stiles, albeit slowly.
▶▶ The Way Back by ineachplace Teen And Up | 4,695w "Greetings from Venezuela!" Derek didn't sign the postcard. Didn't write anything on it at all, except for a return address on the right and a little black squiggle where he presumably checked to see if his pen still had ink. It's the first anyone has heard from him since he left. Scott and Kira had a working theory that he became a humble farmer, living off of beets and carrots and tending to a ridiculous amount of horses while Cora fought bulls or tigers or something. No one asks the obvious question when Stiles tells them. Maybe out of decency, out of some shred of respect for his feelings, or maybe because they really don't know. He can't be sure. No one asks why Derek sent it to HIM.
▶▶ Think To Me, Like Lovers Do by clotpolesonly General | 3,458w A cursed amulet forces Derek to hear everyone's thoughts. He doesn't much like what he hears, at least until Stiles comes to rescue him from starvation.
▶▶ This is Not (In Fact) Okay by rileywrites Teen And Up | 3,062w Derek and Stiles end up partnered for a project, and Derek contents himself with being a part of Stiles' life. For a while.
▶▶ Through Veiled Eyes by Dexterous_Sinistrous Explicit | 25,796w "Lay with me," Stiles plainly stated, as if he asked a menial thing of him. Derek narrowed his eyes at Stiles, observing him carefully as he kept his features stoically guarded. "To touch you is sacrilege," he finally uttered, unable to completely deny his desire to discover what touching Stiles would be like. "What they force me to do is sacrilege," Stiles countered, carefully observing Derek. "What you would do would be divine. You would keep me from being their plaything—taking a key player off the board in their pursuit of corruption. What I've asked of you... I've already seen it—the phantom touch of it lingering on me afterwards."
▶▶ Wolfsbane by DiscontentedWinter Mature | 48,231w Kate Argent has kept a little trophy of the Hale fire for all these years - Derek Hale. When Deputy Stiles Stilinski finds him, he doesn't just need to rescue Derek from the Argents. He needs to rescue Derek from his past.
▶▶ Won't Do Me No Good Washing in the River by DevilDoll, Jinxy, Rahciach Mature | 5,939w "Remember, Derek: you never get back what you lost."
▶▶ Worth the Wait by Dexterous_Sinistrous Explicit | 13,381w Stiles always had a thing for Derek, but then again, so did everyone else. Stiles just wanted to be seen as different, which was why he waited. But maybe he waited a little too long.
▶▶ You Were a Kindness When I Was a Stranger by DevilDoll Explicit | 8,092w "It's not all handcuffs and spankings and learning to deep throat." This is an AU with consensual BDSM sex acts, in which Derek supports Stiles financially in exchange for a sexual relationship. Stiles is of legal age.
▶▶ Untitled Tumblr Ficlet by bibliosexxual N/A | 586w "Derek Hale at the supermarket at like nine at night on Feb. 13, innocently going through the checkout with his cucumber..."
▶▶ Untitled Tumblr Ficlet by bibliosexxual Explicit | 1,247w Out of necessity, Derek has fine-tuned a few simple tests for anyone he goes on a first date with.
▶▶ Untitled Tumblr Ficlet by doctortay Mature | 1,548w So yes, he's in Derek's loft, and that is most definitely Derek, sitting on the floor at the foot of his bed, naked and smoking a joint, head thrown back, totally blissed-out.
▶▶ Untitled Tumblr Ficlet by loserchildhotpants N/A | 837w Sniffling into Derek's shoulder, Stiles tucks his face further into the crook of Derek's neck. His own neck and ears feel too hot and he's embarrassed, but he can't let go.
▶▶ Untitled Tumblr Ficlet by redhoodedwolf N/A | 981w "I'll take care of it. I am the son of the Queen of Hell, after all,"

@captainpettie | AO3 - you’re super cool and I love the gifsets you make, you’re super duper talented and I am in awe. Also, I kinda wish I’d written more for this like I had planned (my life exploded and cut my time short) so I’m probably going to add another chapter once the exchange is over, BECAUSE I HAD PLANS!!! Anyway, I really hope you like this. You’re awesome.
by @milkysterek
Derek had never enjoyed surprises; most of the events in his life had been surprises and none of them were ever any good. The exception to that rule had always been Stiles, his loud mouthed, scatterbrained, undeniably beautiful husband. He hadn’t planned on Stiles at all. It didn’t matter how long he pined or how hard he craved the man, he never realistically thought he’d ever deserve someone as imaginative, as devious and as perfect as Stiles Stilinski. Yet here they were, five years on from their first kiss, married and about to have a baby.
The weather was gorgeous outside. Golden light rained down on the lush, green front lawn, making tiny beads of water that had been scattered by the sprinklers shimmer dazzlingly like diamonds under the gaze of the bright, full sun. Birds were hopping around, searching for worms, tapping the ground with their little forked feet while off in the distance, too far away for anything other than supernatural hearing, small predators prowled the undergrowth looking for their next meal. He could almost see Alia playing out there. She would be so happy, he thought, running in and out of the spray, chasing the wildlife that lived around their home, her jet black hair getting damp and sticking to her chubby cheeks. Yes, Derek could see her fitting in well here.
Alia was Derek’s second exception to his rule.
“I don’t understand why I have to move out for the next two weeks,” Isaac complained, breaking the gentle peace that Derek had lost himself in. It was so easy to zone out in the blissfulness of his life these days, to sit back and enjoy what he had; he must be getting old.
Isaac stalked across the livingroom, his backpack thrown over his shoulder containing what Derek didn’t believe for a second could possibly be two weeks worth of clothes and whatever else he would be needing during his exile. Stiles wasn’t far behind him, “And I don’t understand why you’re still living with us in the first place.”
Before Isaac could get the chance to sass back, Derek thought it best that he step in. He was a father now, he needed to practice breaking up children’s squabbles. Coming away from the window, he walked up behind his husband and placed two hands on his shoulders, pressing a kiss to his neck. “Why don’t you go make sure Alia’s room has everything she needs and I’ll see Isaac off?”
“Fine,” Stiles grumbled under his breath and shot Isaac a parting glare before heading for the stairs.
Isaac loitered by the door, fiddling with one of the straps of his backpack, eyes cast down. “Is this the part where you tell me to be nicer to Stiles?”
It was ridiculous, really. Derek had always kind of thought Stiles and Isaac would grow out of their rivalry, that maybe adulthood would make them see each other a little differently; it wasn’t like they didn’t have anything in common after all. He was wrong, clearly, but they could at least pretend to get along - for his sake if nothing else. He did actually like both of them and deep down, deep, deep, deep down, he knew Stiles and Isaac liked each other, too.
Deep down.
He rolled his eyes and leaned against the floral wallpaper that decorated the living room. He’d picked it himself when they were first rebuilding the house and he thought it brightened the place up a little bit. The fact that the entire pack had been surprised by his taste had seemed strange to him until he realised practically everyone in town thought he enjoyed living in derelict buildings and other areas of general doom and gloom. Derek liked floral. Floral made Derek happy. “No.”
Isaac blinked, “No?”
“You’re an adult, Isaac; you can do whatever you want. Would I prefer it if my husband and my beta weren’t constantly at each other’s throats? Sure, but I have a lot more to worry about right now than the two of you squabbling.”
Something that Derek said must have struck a chord with Isaac because the curly haired beta looked down, chewing at the inside of his mouth like he was working on saying something. Time had taught Derek that waiting his silence out would usually get Isaac to say what he wanted to. He just had to wait for his confidence to build. “Derek, you know everything’s going to go fine with Alia? You’re going to be a great dad and even if you are kicking me out, I’m still really happy for you - you and Stiles.”
There was no doubt in Derek’s mind that Isaac was looking forward to Alia finally coming to stay with them - the entire pack was thrilled - but hearing it instead of the usual brigade of sarcastic and biting comments was a little touching. Derek cleared his throat and crossed his arms over his chest. “Uh, thanks,” He started, rolling his eyes when Isaac grinned at how uncomfortable he’d made his alpha. “But it’s not like we’re kicking you out forever and if we could let you stay, we would. You know the rules: Alia is only allowed to see Stiles and I for the first two weeks. After that we can introduce the rest of the pack slowly but until then-”
“Yeah, yeah,” Isaac was still grinning, a boyish glint in his toffee eyes. “Until then I’m out on my ass. I get it.”
Derek smiled and looked down at his feet before catching Isaac’s eyes again. “You’ll be fine - and I’m sure you’ll have plenty of fun at Jackson’s while you’re away.”
It was cute that Isaac was trying his best to look confused, especially with how rosy his face was quickly growing. The rose tint really did wonders for his cheekbones. The fact that Isaac and Jackson were somewhat of an item was supposed to be a secret, apparently, but it wasn’t a very well kept one. Despite that, Isaac was still trying to pull the whole ‘who, me?’ act. Like Derek said, it was cute.
“What are you talking about? I’m staying at Scott’s.” The beta tried to smile sheepishly but it came out more like a grimace. Derek took pity on him.
“Oh, yeah. Of course!” He smirked, his voice full of false sincerity. Isaac punched him in the arm.
Packing Isaac away in the camaro and essentially banishing him from his home for the following two weeks left Derek feeling a little guilty. This was Isaac’s home after all and as far as Derek was concerned, the man was family. He thought that Isaac should be allowed to stay for Alia’s ‘settling in’ period but the adoption agency had thought different and, well, he didn’t want to do anything that might jeopardise the whole process. Besides, two weeks would be up in no time and as Stiles had said time and time again, if anyone was going to meet Alia against the adoption agencies guidelines, it was going to be his father.
The sheriff was another person who wasn’t thrilled at the idea of his new granddaughter residing in Beacon Hills for a whole two weeks before he could even set his eyes on her in the flesh. He thought there should be a special grandfather loophole that he could slip through but, alas, no such loophole existed. It wasn’t like he was completely deprived, though. The sheriff has one very nice, silver framed picture of Derek and Stiles with Alia in the middle, all cuddled up when they’d taken her to a funfair just last month. That was the same day Derek had to sneak off and scare away Scott and Lydia who were prowling around the parking lot, trying to catch a glimpse of the new family. Those were two more people who weren’t talking the no contact rule great either. Derek had no idea how he and Stiles were going to filter in the pack members when the time for meeting Alia came. He didn’t want to overwhelm her, but the pack bond could already tell she was their alpha and alpha-mate’s cub. Their anxiety to finally see her was understandable.
He couldn’t worry about that right now, though. That was a problem for another day.
Derek found Stiles in Alia’s bedroom where he had sent him just moments before. It was decorated just how she’d like it - he was sure of that because he’d been back and forth from her housing near a hundred times with paint swatches and furniture catalogues and even had her walk him through exactly where she wanted each of her stuffed animals placed (all five on her bed, none were to be left out). The walls were a sandy yellow with blue and pink floral designs around the borders. A not too small, single bed was pushed against the back wall and the bedding was a duck egg blue and pastel pink. Matching yellow throw pillows were scattered over the bed, each thick with the scent of pack members so even though Alia wouldn’t be meeting them for a fortnight, she would still be saturated with their scent. It was a wolf thing; Stiles found it hilarious. He was over by her wardrobe, gazing inside at the plethora of dresses they had bought for her. Just because the pack couldn’t meet her yet didn’t mean for a second that they weren’t going to spoil her. Alia had outfits from everyone; there was a bright pink cardigan from Melissa that she had knitted herself, a beautiful embroidered green and purple salwar kameez from Scott and Kira, John was responsible for the baseball jersey that Derek was sure would be getting a lot of wear and there were many other items all crammed in together in a colourful rainbow mixture from more plain americanized clothes all the way to the most intricate Indian clothing Lydia could find - because of course Lydia had done the majority of the clothes shopping.
“Do you think we went overboard with the yellow,” Stiles asked without looking up from where he was frowning at one of the soft, yellow sarees, stroking his thumb over the fabric of the coral pink palla. “I know she said it was her favourite colour, but kids change their favourite colour all the time. What if her favourite colour’s green now?”
Derek chuckled gently and wrapped his arms around Stiles’ waist from behind, kissing his husband on his shoulder. “I’m sure she’ll love whatever we give her. She seemed pretty thrilled with that keyring you bought her at the aquarium.”
That, apparently, was not the right thing to say because as quickly as it had left his lips, Stiles was squirming from his grip and turning on him with wide, amber eyes. “Oh my god,” He gasped, not at all overdramatically, “I bought her a keyring. What sort of five year old has keys!”
Derek shrugged. “We don’t know her business.”
“Hilarious,” Stiles deadpanned, unamused by what Derek thought was kinda funny, at least by his standards. “You really should go into comedy. You’re wasted on the national healthcare system.”
“Oh look,” Derek smiled, closing the wardrobe doors and seizing his husband by the hand. “Now you’re the funny one.”
“I’m always the funny one.”
“Well, funny one, I think it’s time we go and collect our daughter,” Derek paused for effect, because he was that type of asshole, “And this is no laughing matter.”
“That was so bad that even Alia’s cringing right now.” Stiles rolled his eyes but Derek had already spotted the smile on his face and the pair walked out of their daughter’s bedroom, ready to officially start their family.
The outside of the children’s home where Alia had spent the last four years of her life always had a way of making Derek anxious. It was tall and looming, casting everything beneath it in shadow. It made Derek intimidated whenever they came to pick Alia up for days out but strangely, now that he knew he’d never have to come to this place again, he felt a little better about it.
The couple entered through the sliding front doors and into the breezy reception area. They knew the drill like clockwork now and soon found their way to the waiting room after checking themselves in. All the paperwork was done in advance to make today run as smoothly as possible. All they needed now was their little girl and then they could go and start the rest of their lives.
It didn’t take long before Derek - and Stiles not long after - could hear the sound of Alia’s frantic feat pounding down the corridor. Every slap of her shoes made Derek’s heart jump in his chest, made it ache with a mixture of excitement and longing to see his child - his cub - again. She burst into the waiting room, her brown eyes blown wide and her dark cheeks tinted pink from running as quick as her little legs could carry her.
“Tata! Daddy!” She yelled and both of the men were on their feet in an instant. Alia barreled into them, her pointy shoulders hitting them in their things while her thin little arms tried desperately to wrap around both of them at the same time.
The smile that had broken out on Stiles’ face was one that Derek had only seen a handful of times in his life, the last time being when Derek spoke his vows at their wedding. His husband was a generally happy person now, after years of therapy and constant reassurances that he and the people he loved were finally safe, but this smile… this smile was pure awe.
“You ready to go home, baby?” Stiles asked, his voice thick in a way that Derek was sure his own would be if he could find words. His throat felt raw and he didn’t need a mirror to know that his eyes were red rimmed.
For years, Derek had been accepting of the fact that he would never have a family again. That time was gone, lost in the ashes of his old home. It hurt, but over time his coldness had hardened him to that fact and it was something he was learning to deal with, something he could push right to the back of his mind and never think about, never even acknowledge.
Things were better after he and Stiles got together. At first, he figured he’d lose Stiles too and tried his best not to get attached. There was college, other men that were far more appropriate for someone as ambitious and enigmatic as Stiles and, of course, there was death. For all Derek knew, Stiles could’ve be killed at any time; humans were very breakable. It was always nagging at Derek, the thought that Stiles could be so easily and so quickly snatched away by death. His jeep had never been one hundred percent in the whole time they’d know each other, rival packs might have wanted to make an example of him, one simple monster of the week gone wrong or even one of Derek’s ill judged mistakes could take Stiles just like that. It haunted him for years, kept him awake at night. Stiles made him see a counselor.
Losing Stiles, that constant threat that ate away at Derek’s being, was what drove him to finally settle his pack. He made Stiles his mate, Boyd his official second in command and mended any bridges with Scott that had been burned over the years. It felt good to be established, to be part of a real pack again. It felt whole.
And after that, well, things just sort of fell into place. He was married and happy and part of family and when the day came that he found adoption brochures not so stealthily mixed in with his morning mail and Stiles cautiously watching him with pleading eyes, it just seemed right.
Derek had never expected to have a family again, he’d never even dared to hope, but looking down at Alia, grinning dazzlingly at Stiles, her eyes dancing with light and happiness at knowing that she finally had a family too, he didn’t think it was too wrong for him to cry. Even if it was just a little.
“I’m ready, Tata,” She beamed and turned to Derek while Stiles’ stood, taking one of her hands. Alia held out the other, wiggling her fingers up at Derek with trusting eyes. “Are you coming, Daddy?”
Derek took Alia’s tiny, podgy hand in his, cupping it protectively. She was beautiful and innocent and so honest with her love that it sometimes hurt just to look at her and without even trying, Alia symbolised everything their little pack had fought to build and everything they had achieved. He had a family again. A perfect, dysfunctional, always entertaining family and he knew at that moment that no matter what came, he would always protect that little girl. “Of course, baby.”

In another time, in another place, but not exactly as the story still occurs in the much beloved town of Beacon Hills, Stiles Stilinski is a quirky (kind way of saying a walking disaster) teenager just trying to figure out his life in the wake of his parents uncommunicated separation, and being the perpetual third-wheel to his power couple friends Lydia and Jackson that makes him question if their friends because they happened to have playdates in the e-old age or because their parents gave them no choice but to be friends.
And yeah, maybe having sex with a complete stranger in the supply closet at school wasn't his brightest idea - sue him, but how was he supposed to know that his one time fling that he wanks since forth was his English teacher?
Throw in teenage werewolves, alphas, hunters and some kind of demon tree that may or may not be trying to seduce him into being evil and what you got is a whirlwind romance that's not quite legal but profound all the same.

“Hey, Derek, look! Aquamenti!” Stiles yelled laughing.
His laugh though was short-lived as his hand tickled the same time as water shot out of the tip of his fake wand?
What?
“Whatever you did, wherever you found it, put it back!” Derek ordered flashing his alpha crimson eyes.
“Do you really think it is a good idea to leave it here unattended? What if a kid takes it? What if someone said ‘Avada Kedavra’” Stiles defended as he flayed his arms around.
That proved to be another bad choice. His hand buzzed again and lightning escaped the wand and stuck an innocent tree. Which immediately cracked and started decaying to the point that it looked sick and… well… dead.
There were a few bits of silence after that until Derek spoke up. “That’s it! Put it back now.”

The Nightmare
Derek was going to lose his mind. All the colors and fittings and crafts that Lydia made him participate in was borderline ridiculous. He stared blankly at the ceiling, stiles snuggled closely into his side, fanning hot breath over his face. Derek took this moment to look over the face of his entire world whose deep breathing, caused his chest to rise and fall against Derek's rib cage. The closeness and touch caused his heart to swell in adoration.
After the whirlwind of excitement of them getting engaged they all had settled around, smiling and playing games with Sarah, Stiles never too far from Derek's side, when Lydia all but screeched “When do you want to start planning?” the buzzing coming from her sheer delight was contagious, and Derek had thought it a good idea to allow the Banshee to take the reins and plan their wedding.
“Stiles, when do you want to start planning” the alphas face was pressed firmly in the humans shoulder, arms wrapped around Stiles, fingers hooked into the front belt loops of the younger man's pants. Derek listened closely to the beat of stiles’s heart, the smell of his mate happy, akin to contentment.
“Uhh, you want me to decide, is that really wise sourwolf, I think we should set a date first, before we start planning anything, because we have to make sure that the pack will be around, and that Kira and Scott won't be busy with Kennedy, since he's due soon, and newborns require a lot of time and effort. Also, you know that Erica and Boyd are starting to think about starting a family. Then there's also the fact that Jackson and Ethan are still going through the adoption process…There’s a lot we have to plan around der, and the biggest thing is making sure we have a date that works for everyone.”
Derek's heart started to slam against his chest, Stiles was so caring and lovely, all he asked was when he wanted to start planning. But based off the rant he was on, he'd already thought about it. Derek easily swept stiles up to silence with his lips. A small noise escaped the human as he practically melted against the alpha’s chest. the kiss hindered due to their position, Stiles’s back to Derek’s chest, the kiss calming both their racing hearts, flooding them both with calm and tranquil energy.
When Derek pulled back he was staring in the drooped and glassy eyes of his lover. “We can start in a month, Okay Lydia?” Derek called, still looking into the eyes of his Mate. “now everyone out, we will see you all next week”
The next few days are easy. So easy Derek starts to panic a little bit, when has life ever been this easy, this perfect, not since before the fire. But it feels so good, and Derek starts to feel guilty because why does he deserve to be this happy when Cora is refusing to speak to him, and Peter is out doing god knows what, and the rest of his family is a mix of ash, dust and grief. Slowly he starts the descent into his ever present sadness, then stiles comes breezing in.
His smile is large, beautiful and his eyes look breathtaking in the golden sunset flooding through the windows. Derek steels himself, feeling caught and he knows Stiles can see right through him, through the mask of indifference he's expertly put on his face.
“Derek?” Stiles's voice is soft, supple and it slides over Derek's spine and settles in his stomach. Derek wants to snap at the feeling, he doesn't deserve it, the scowl that sets on his face doesn't even surprise stiles. Instead the human swiftly crosses the room and stands in front of Derek, the softness of his features caressing Derek's beating heart.
“You're okay” Stiles says, and it's not a question but its not a demand either. Tentatively stiles puts his hand on Derek’s arms, running long, warm fingers over the expanse of Derek's skin. “Want to talk about what's on your mind?” the sound is slightly muffled, Stiles’s mouth resting against The shoulders of the older man. Does he? Does Derek want to bring up his dead family and what he feels like his shortcomings are, and really seriously ask stiles if he wants this.
A soft shake of his head has stiles retreating, “okay, want to talk about something else” Stiles absolutely knows the answer before Derek opens his mouth because all of a sudden the alpha is being tugged toward the couch. The tv is being turned on and stiles is pulling up Orange is the New Black, picking up where they left off. Derek feels himself relax, the weight of stiles against him grounding him to the now. The harsh and blood splattered memories drifting away, leaving him here, in comfortable silence with his mate.
“I love you” it slips from his lips soft and sure and Stiles’s heartbeat upticks before he turns and presses and kiss into Derek's wrist.
After too many episodes and drooping eyes, Derek pulls stiles to bed. It's clumsy and sleepy and it just warms Derek further. “M’bed” Stiles mumbles before tripping again and Derek just scoops him up and carries him.
When he falls into bed, arms wrapped tightly around the skinny frame of the light of his life, it takes some effort to fall asleep. But he does, Stiles has always been able to chase away the nightmares, but there's something about tonight. Something about how he's let the sadness fester and his self-loathing linger clings to his heart and solidifies his bones.
It makes him heavy and unable to move, his eyes pop open, the glow of red against the ceiling. The sinking feeling of fear laces through him and he sees something. In the corner of his eye its a body and its slinking its way to him. He tries with all his might to lift himself, to protect stiles, to protect himself. A hard vicious growl rips from his lips and a cold laugh answers.
“C’mon sweetheart you know better than that” the voice freezes Derek. It can't be, she's dead, he saw it with his own eyes. They'd set her aflame, in a sick twist of fate and irony. Kate's face became illuminated by the moonlight. Long fangs and clear eyes. “You thought you could get rid of me?” she tsks and comes closer, climbing over Derek and he sees her face, really sees it.
The skin is charred, black and ugly. Some places peeled away revealing bones. “You'll never be rid of me sweetheart, not even your little bitch can keep me away. You're mine Derek” she reaches out to touch him and he snarls and snaps. Her hand veers back quickly and she scolds him, loud and harsh in his ears. “Derek!” but it doesn't sound like her anymore. Then the world is shaking, “Derek, Wake up!” its faint, cloudy in his mind.
 Stiles.
Then he shooting upward, eyes wide, frantic. His red eyes land on stiles, the usual honey color dark and swirling with confusion, worry and fear. “Was it a nightmare, are you okay? You're sweating, Baby?” Stiles's voice has an assertion to it, like Derek isn't getting out of this with a shrug. So he takes a deep breath, preparing himself to divulge back into his dream. But what comes out of his mouth is not what was in his mind.
“Do you really want to get married to me?” Stiles blanches, the widening of his eyes startles Derek to standing. “What? Derek, yes” stiles scrambles across the mattress, gripping Derek's hands like he’ll disappear if he lets go.
“Yes i want to get married, to you, no one else. I love you. What's happened, talk to me please” Stiles is tugging at him, but Derek is stock still and immovable. The scent of stiles’s fear own gripping him and sending a shudder over his skin. “I had a bad dream, it's just reminded me that you need to know what you're agreeing to” Derek shrugs and Stiles’s arms fall away.
“What i'm getting into? Are you dense Derek. I love you, i have since i saw you in the woods the day after Scott was bitten and it only gets deeper and more solid as the days go by. Yes i'm sure, I want to spend the rest of my life with you. I want to adopt kids with you, and go on dates and have our wedding anniversary. I love you so much and if i didn't i would not have said yes.” Stiles is breathing hard, the rise and fall of his chest matching the rapid beating of his heart.
Derek breathes deeply and his eyes go soft. “I’m sorry, Stiles, i'm so sorry” The alpha falls to his knees next to the bed and pulls stiles to him.
Stiles goes willingly, and Derek crawls back into the bed. They fall asleep now equally wrapped around each other. Derek afraid of the nightmares and Stiles afraid of losing the best thing in his life.

Theme: Pack Mom Stiles (with a twist)
Oh! And check out this link! You’ll find out why ;3
Stiles has no idea when or why he was dubbed the Pack Mom.
In fact, he had no idea he was dubbed Pack Mom.
Didn't start realizing it till until his birthday.
And it all started with Jackson.
Jackson gave him a mug that said World's Best Mom. At first, he thought it was just Jackson being Jackson. Because, well, even after finally accepting the fact that he was part of a pack (which was before Scott's acceptation), Jackson was still a massive douche. Barely calmed down at all.
After Stiles put down the mug, rolling his eyes, he opened his gift from Erica.
Which was an apron. An apron obviously designed in a fifties rockabilly fashion with a pink and white polka dot tie, pocket, neck strap, and bottom trimming. The rest of it was an elegant yellow, adorned with different colored cupcakes. Erica was smirking as he gaped at it in stunned silence. Everyone else, with the exception of Derek (who was just as stunned as Stiles), was laughing hysterically. He didn't understand why he was given such a frilly apron, but hah! Joke's on Erica! He liked it and was going to wear the shit out of this apron when he cooked and baked for the pack!
(No, really. He loved it. A lot.)
On his third gift, a necklace with a bear charm that had Mama etched into it...Stiles finally got the joke.
“Oh, haha. Very funny guys. Just because I like to make sure you losers eat healthy, and are patched up from your scuffles, doesn't mean I'm your mother.”
“Right. He is not our mother.” Lydia said haughtily
For a split second, Stiles was in love with her all over again. Until...
“He would have to be married to Derek for him to be our mother.”
Aaaaaand instant hatred. For the lot of them.
Except for Derek, who looked equally displeased with all of this.
Gift after gift...they were all themed in some way that he was the Pack Mom. Even Scott, even Allison, gave him mom themed gifts. It was growing pretty disheartening. He was losing his birthday cheer, looking gloomier and gloomier with each gift.
Then came Derek's.
It was a large as hell box. Could fit a litter of puppies plus the mother if needed. Which, with how he was feeling, a litter of puppies would be amazing right about now.
Instead, there was a brand new Mets cap, a new glove, a black duffle bag with sewn on Mets patches, an array of jerseys, and...and...
“Are these tickets to a Mets game?! At the actual stadium?!”
Derek ducked his head, sucking on his cheek and poorly hiding the red tints rising on his ears. “You said that you wanted to go. I could...I could sell them if you don't want them...”
“Are you kidding?! No way! Mine! No take backs! No take backs on anything you gave me!”
Stiles didn't miss the tension leaving the alpha's shoulders. Nor the fond grin that emerged.
Nothing after that could kill his mood. And fortunately, Derek must've set a trend, because there were no more mom themed gifts.
Kira got him a wolf hat that flowed into a scarf, or something of the like, that had wolf paws where he could but his hands in. And a fox beanie that she knitted herself!
His dad got him a whole bundle of yarn for his crime board, and markers to go with them.
Melissa got him a new plaid shirt with a massive black pawprint on the back that had his last name on it. (She insisted it wasn't a fortune to have it custom made, but Stiles didn't buy it for a moment and vowed to buy her a nice dinner when he could.)
Argent got him a Batman shirt. And a lot of cash. Like...a lot.
Then, it was discovered that everyone else had actually got him real gifts. The whole mom theme was just a joke based on how much Stiles really did behaved like a mom friend.
“Excuse you! I am not the mom friend!”
“You kinda are, dude...” Scott said with what could only be described as a cringe face.
“Am not!”
“Stiles...you really are.” Boyd sighed. “You take care of everyone. Not just your dad.”
“You soccer mommed me the other day.” Isaac pointed out. “You do that a lot, actually. More than Allison.”
“And I already do that a lot.” echoed Allison, shrugging.
“What? You don't like being our mom?” pouted Erica.
Stiles flushed, realizing that, yeah, maybe he was the mom friend. But that didn't mean anyone could torture him with that fact!
“Anyone that calls me mom again is...is grounded!” he huffed, nearly slamming down the Catwoman plush Erica got him. “And I hope you guys give all these mom themed gifts to the actual mom in this room! Except for the apron. That I'm keeping. And, just so you know, you have all been demoted, and Derek is officially my favorite person. Kira is still my second fave. No demotion for her.”
“What am I? Chopped liver?” his dad huffed in an eerily same way as his son. “I'm the one that suggested to Derek to get you Mets crap! Which, good on those tickets, Derek. That's been something he's wanted to do since he was five.”
Stiles looked over at Derek, who was bright red at this point, and cooed.
“Awwww! You asked my dad what to get me? You really do care!”
“Of course daddy cares...” grumbled Jackson with an eye roll.
Immediately, the entire room filled with disapproving shouts and gagging sounds. Lydia had to explain about the whole daddy kink fad, which was what Jackson deserved. Be scarred forever, Whittemore!
The  party started to go by without incident. No more mom jokes, at least...
(Okay, that's a lie. Erica made one when Stiles decided to wear the apron as he made dinner.)
As the night wore on, everyone tried to weasel Stiles into giving them the second Mets ticket. Everyone but his father, Melissa, Argent, Kira, Allison, Lydia, and Derek.
His father declined, saying that he had seen enough Mets games in his lifetime. Melissa, Argent, Lydia, and Allison all informed Stiles that they weren't interested in baseball. Kira, although she liked baseball, wasn't a Mets fan, so she wouldn't be able to share his joy as much as she thought was deserved. Derek just kept to himself like always, only really lingering around Stiles when he was asked to help out with something.
Everyone else, however, tried to be all sweet to him. Tried to win him over.
For a time.
“C'mon, mom. You love me more than my other siblings.” Erica teased, arm wrapped around him.
Stiles scoffed, rolling his eyes. “Okay...you know what? Why do I have to be the mom? Why can't you guys have two Pack Dads? What's so wrong with that? And no. You are not coming with me, Erica. Boyd would die of a lonely, broken heart.”
“So...you want to be Pack Dad with Derek?” mused Lydia, this glint of knowing in her stare. “I like the sound of that.”
“I don't like the tone of your voice...”
“Why don't you take Derek to the game? Bond over the love of the game and your children.”
“You're not our children.” finally grunted Derek, ears bright red.
“Some of us kinda are. You did turn us.” Isaac said matter-of-factly.
“Then you're all terrible children.”
“Is this a werewolf thing?” asked the sheriff. “Because this whole Pack Mom, Pack Dad, Pack Dads talk is really, really weird.”
“I think it's just a them thing.” Argent replied with a sigh.
“It's no one's thing!” snapped Stiles. “I get it. I am a mom friend. I fuss over you idiots like I do with my dad. I try to take care of you and patch you up. But why do I have to be called the Pack Mom? Why can't I be Pack Dad? Or just Stiles? Can this not be a joke? Can we just...drop it? Please?”
That was the end of the Pack Mom jokes. The Pack Dad jokes.
At least for a while.
It was pack night a few weeks later when they made a reappearance.
Stiles was in Derek's kitchen, baking treats for the marathon of movies they were going to have. Derek was beside him, helping out and (surprisingly) making small talk. They mostly talked about the upcoming Mets games, since Stiles actually did decide to take Derek. They were cheerful, something rare for the alpha to show freely, and were enjoying each others company.
And then came the pack.
Scott arrived first, brows furrowed in confusion as he saw the interaction between his best friend and alpha. Kira followed closely behind, except she looked more excited than confused. Everyone else that filed in either gave Stiles and Derek weird looks (because apparently Derek smiling and laughing freely was considered unthinkable), or smirked suggestively at Stiles. It was creepy...
“Oh. Are mom and dad making us treats? And flirting? Yuck. Get a room.” Jackson snorted, waltzing in last like always.
Before Stiles could slam down his whisk and tell ex snakeskin to kindly fuck off...
“We are in a room. In my apartment.” spat Derek, eyes flashing red. “If you don't like what goes on in my own apartment, with whoever it is I am speaking or flirting with, then you can leave. And I think Stiles said to drop the Pack Mom jokes.”
Jackson made a disgusted, bratty face, doing some form of sarcastic jazz hands. “Fine. Dad and dad. Whatever. Just don't start pissing on him. Nobody wants him. He's all yours.”
“Hey! Werewolves don't piss on things to mark their territory!” Stiles barked. He then turned to Derek, voice in a low, hushed whisper, asking, “Do they?”
Derek threw him a glare, telling him, with mostly the eyebrows, that no, werewolves don't pee on things to mark them as theirs. Which, yeah. Stiles knew that. Totally knew it.
(Okay, maybe he didn't know. He had a hunch, but Wiki had been wrong before.)
“Wait...were you flirting with Stiles?” Scott inquired, his voice a little high and startled.
“You can't smell it?” scoffed Erica.
“It is so painfully obvious...” sighed Lydia.
“H-hey! We can hear you!” Stiles piped, face breaking out in embarrassed blotches. “We are in the next room!”
“Maybe then you'll finally get it on and save us from smelling or watching the pathetic pining.” retorted Boyd. (Surprisingly, 'cause Boyd never clapped back like that.)
“But then we'd smell the smugness and the s-” Isaac started to whine.
“Shut up!” shouted the men in the kitchen, both sharing the red coloration.
“Yeah. No need for the image of our dads going at it...” mumbled Jackson.
“We are not your dads!” Stiles bellowed, chucking the spoon he was using into the sink. “And I am not your mom! Come make your shit yourselves! I'm out!”
That wasn't a threat. Stiles literally stormed through the living room and out the door. He was done with this. Sick of being teased over something so stupid and pointless. Honestly...who even came up with it in the first place? When did it even get thought up?! Whoever thought of it, shared it with the pack, and decided to make sure it would haunt Stiles whenever it would be deemed fun should be locked in a room with wolfsbane petals!
(Not really. He would never condone something like that. Even though he was pissed off at them.)
As he was about to climb into his Jeep, a hand wrapped around his arm, stopping him mid sitting down. Which was not comfortable at all. He twisted around to the best of his abilities to see who it was. And, no surprise, it was Derek. Dejected as al -
Wait.
No.
He looked...
Kind of sad?
Stiles tried to not read too much into it. Or tried to pretend he wasn't, at least. “What? Gonna drag me back in there to hear them say sorry for the Pack Mom-Pack Dad crap, then do it all over again when they think I forgot it?”
Derek shook his head, biting at the inside of his lip. He was...incredibly vulnerable looking right now. It was weird. Maybe a bit concerning.
“Uhhhh...you okay there, Der? You have this look that kinda makes it seem like you may start crying? Are you gonna start crying? I'm not good with crying, man. I am worse with crying than I am with blood. I'm better with crying than needles...but that's not the point. The point is this: I can't do crying. I'm a sympathetic crier, too. So...please don't cry...”
“I'm not gonna cry, Stiles.” the wolf huffed, rolling his eyes. “I'm here to tell you that I knew someone who got teased just like this.”
“You...did? Who?”
There was a hesitant pause. Much swallowing, too. Like this was going to be difficult to say.
Stiles was about to tell him to not worry about. That he was going to suck it up and resign to his fate. But he was beaten to the chase by a semi choked up Derek Hale.
“My dad.”
Those words made Stiles' eyes round in horror and awe. Horror because, oh hell, Derek may actually cry since, well, the guy never talked about his family for probably the same reason Stiles didn't talk about his mother. Awe because, holy shit, Derek was talking about a member of his family with him. Him! Of all people! If Derek had talked about his family with almost anyone else, mostly someone like Kira or Melissa or even his own dad, that would've made much more sense!
But...him?
“When he was dating my mother, he was dubbed the Pack Mom for the same reasons you are. He cooked and baked, worried about everyone, fussed about health. Which, someone had to. My mother was being groomed to be the next alpha. And she couldn't cook worth a damn.”
The small chuckle that escaped the wolf made Stiles' heart and stomach do somersaults. The shy head dip to hide the equally shy smile and eye crinkle nearly made him fall right out of the Jeep. (And he was barely in it in the first place!)
“It drove him nuts. Not because it was killing his masculinity or anything. But because it almost sounded like a negative to him. Like he was being called a mother because he was doing stereotypical things for a woman. And to him...that wasn't right. Especially when Peter always made it sound like it was a negative.”
“Your dad was ahead of his time...”
“Well, he was dating a strong woman. Eventually married that strong woman. He didn't like the title being said negatively.”
“I don't blame him...”
Derek nodded, a sad smile crossing his lips. “My mother wasn't too keen with it, either. Mostly because it bothered my father. So she took him to my grandfather to discuss a new title. One that didn't feel like it was being said in a teasing, negative manner. They discussed Alpha's Mate. But...Alpha's Mate was...”
“Piling his worth into just being the alpha's pet, or something like that?”
Another nod. “That was vetoed real quick. Vice Alpha was a bit more formal, which was my grandfather's issue with the Pack Mom title, it wasn't formal, but my mother hated it. Dad didn't mind it, but he understood why his wife hated it. How it sounded like a pressured title.”
“Are you saying that he didn't find something else for him to be called and he was doomed to forever be called Pack Mom?”
He shook his head, a strange seriousness enveloping him. “No. He was given the highest title an outsider of the Pack could be given.”
“Which is...?”
“The Luna.”
Stiles blinked, understandably confused. The Luna? What in the hell was The Luna?
“The Luna is the highest honor in the pack. The right hand, the partner, the equal to the alpha. Not just a second-in-command. Something greater. Higher than a mate, even. And that already is high in the werewolf world, even though it does sound a little downgrading to some. If you insult The Luna, harm The Luna, anger The Luna, do anything that would be disrespectful to The Luna...there are consequences. Depending on what is done to The Luna, the consequences can be benign or severe. Mom thought that was perfect for my father, who was as much of a provider as she was going to be. Maybe even more so. My grandfather wasn't too keen on it, especially because my father was not only an outsider to the pack...but a human. Thought it was too high of an honor. My mother fought tooth and nail till it was announced that dad was going to be The Luna.”
That was...wow. That was a lot to take in. And it was mind blowing to find out that tad bit about Derek's family. He had assumed that the Hales were all werewolves, with the exception of the few he had heard about from Argent.
“I didn't know that your dad was human...” he finally said in a small voice, sitting fully in the driver's seat now.
“I tell you all of that...and that's what you got out of it?”
“N-no! Not at all! Just...I...I just...I heard that there were some humans that were in the fire...I just...”
“Didn't think any of them were part of my immediate family?”
“Kinda?”
Derek shrugged, a melancholy glimmer in his kaleidoscope stare. “An aunt, three cousins, an uncle, my dad, and my youngest brother were all human.”
“You had a brother?”
“Yeah...his name was Leoric. Leo for short. He idolized me. Tried to be just like me. Our bonding time was us in the kitchen, baking cookies with dad. Or playing baseball. He was the youngest one to die...only six...”
“Oh fuck...Derek...I'm...you know...”
“Sorry? Yeah. Yeah, I know.”
There was solemn silence between them. Hung sourly, chillingly in the air.
Until Stiles timidly broke it.
“So...why did you tell me all that? Besides saying that you knew somebody that knows my sudden pain?”
Derek's ears went bright red, which started to bleed down to his cheeks. Didn't take long before it clicked, and Stiles was eternally grateful he decided to actually sit down in his Jeep. Because if he was still half up and half not...he would've face planted it onto the gravel beneath him.
“Wait...are you...are you telling me that you want to make me The Luna?” he gawked in disbelief. “Holy shit! You were flirting with me! That wasn't just those assholes teasing us! Oh my god! You like me!”
“I know. I'm surprised by it, too.”
“But...that title? The Luna? Are you kidding me? That's way too high of an honor!”
“And you deserve it.”
Stiles leaned into his seat, gaping and unable to understand the magnitude. It was a bit overwhelming. And it was...surreal...to hear that Derek wanted to give him the same title that his dad had. He wanted to decline it, because he didn't feel worthy in the slightest. It would be a dishonor to Derek's late father.
The amount of faith and trust Derek had to give Stiles this title was...astronomical.
“We'll talk about it with the pack tomorrow. Hopefully it will make this whole parent thing go away.”
“Huh? Tomorrow? Aren't you taking me back up there?”
“No. I'm taking you on a date. The 'kids' have the phone number for the pizza place.”
“What about the stuff we were baking?”
“Isaac knows how to use the food sealer. He promised to seal them and put them in the freezer. Allison and Kira are helping him.”
Stiles nodded, face scrunched up in skepticism. “You said you're taking me on a date?”
“Yes?”
“O-o-okay. Cool. Yeah. Awesome. A date. Um...wow...you were really flirting with me...”
“Proper response to you flirting with me.”
“Oh...oh, I was told you didn't notice that. That's what I get for trusting Scott. Then again...he does miss a lot of things.”
Derek chuckled, a true blue smile following suit. Then, he grabbed Stiles' knees, carefully pulling him out of the Jeep. There was a playful fire in his eyes. Something Stiles hadn't really seen to this caliber before. Made his heart race and his skin buzz.
“Come on. Let's go celebrate your new title in the pack.” cooed Derek, obviously knowing what he was doing to Stiles.
Asshole. Big, huge, pain in the ass asshole.
But a cute asshole.
Who promoted him to the highest honor in a werewolf pack because...he saw his father in him? Or maybe it was because the broody wolf really enjoyed Stiles' company? Who knows? No matter the reason, it was humbling to know that he was trusted and valued enough in Derek's eyes to have the same title as his father. To be The Luna.
And humbled that he was told some things about the late Hales. Maybe in the future he would learn more. He sure hoped so. Because Derek taking Stiles on a date? Smiling like that? Opening up? There was no way in hell that Stiles was going to let go any time soon.
Or ever.

Stiles Stilinski Imagine- Let Me Talk
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Masterlist
Request: Could you do a Stiles imagine where he keeps trying to tell the reader that he loves her but he keeps getting interrupted by school bells, friends or any distraction you can think of and he eventually he gets so frustrated that he just yells it in front of all your shared friends aka the pack? I feel like this would be really cute and pretty damn funny😂
Word Count: 1,789
Scott and Stiles stood waiting at their lockers, as they did every morning. “Every time I see her, my heart does the thing” he exclaimed. “I know” Scott nod his head. “It’s like I can feel my pulse quicken” he continued. “I hear” Scott agreed. “I think I love her-” Stiles cooed, but before Scott could reply you turned the corner. “You love who Stilinski?” you asked with a smile. “Oh erm ermm- the lunch lady” he lied terribly. “You think you love the lunch lady?” you asked with raised eyebrows. “Oh erm yeah” he said, his voice breaking half way through. Scott had to shove his head in his locker to stop himself from laughing. “Y/n thank god! Kira’s having a little girl trouble in the bathroom, I need your help ASAP!” she said in relief. “So I’ll see you later I guess” you said with a questioning look, before following Lydia down the hall. “Yeah, we have first period together, remember?” Stiles called after you. Scott finally burst out laughing, after watching his best friend’s pathetic excuse of flirting. “You knew she was coming, you complete dick” he said, punching Scott playfully in the arm. “Come on lover boy” Scott laughed, putting his arm around Stiles’ neck and pulling him down the hallway.
You walked into your English class and sat at your usual desk and Stiles soon followed, taking his next to you. You reached into your bag and began to sift through all of your notebooks to find a pen. “Y/n, Y/n!” he whispered, while the teacher was still setting up the lesson. You sat up and turned to face him. “About what I said earlier-” he began. An automatic smirk crept across your lips, at the thought of Stiles fancying the 60 year old, married lunch lady. “So you don't love the lunch lady?” you asked, as you tilted your head. “No, in fact I was talking about someone else” he began to explain, his voice getting quieter. “Can everyone turn to chapter five please” your teacher finally spoke. You did as instructed, but you still felt Stiles’ eyes on you. “We’ll talk about it later, it’s okay if you fancy older women” you brushed it off. You promised to improve your grades and attendance this year and that also included reducing your detentions and improving your behaviour in class. “I don't fancy the lunch lady” he accidently raised his voice, causing the class to laugh. “Thank you for that Stiles, but not relevant” your teacher commented. You bit back a laugh as he slowly sank into his seat.
After first period Stiles planned on telling you his true feelings, just to get it over and done with, he didn't have the time for romance. He waited for you to gather your things as he stood and waited for you. You noticed how his foot tapped at an alarming rate. “What’s the hurry?” you asked with a smile. “Come on” he said. grabbing your arm gently and pulling you out of the classroom. You gave him a weird look as he finally let go of you as you reached the bottom of the stairwell. “You’re being really odd today, are you feeling alright?” you asked, half amused half concerned. “I'm fine, there’s just something I need to tell you” he exclaimed, speaking at 40mph. “Shoot” you said casually, not thinking anything of it. He took a deep breath but before he could say a word the school bell rang loudly. Students began to pour into the hallway. Someone bumped into you, drawing your attention away from Stiles and then more people began to bump into the pair of you as you were blocking the way to the stairs. Before you knew it, you had drifted away from one another in the masses of eager freshman and large groups of students. “Tell me later!” you shouted into the air, no longer knowing where he was. “It’s kind of important” he shouted back, but you couldn't hear him, you had already travelled half way down the hall somehow. Stiles felt someone grip onto his shirt and pull him out of the crowd. “Don't say anything” Stiles huffed. “That was pathetic” Scott told, having watched the whole situation. “Maybe you should wait to tell her, maybe not at school?” Scott suggested. “It’s now or never, otherwise I’ll overthink and might never tell her” Stiles explained. “She likes you Stiles. Her feelings aren't going to change overnight, why don't you wait and make it special?” Scott asked rationally. “You're right, I guess I can wait a day” he agreed. Scott smiled and patted his best friend on the shoulder as they walked to lesson together.
“I cant wait any longer” Stiles whispered. It was break and you all decided to go to the library because it was cold and the only place with any good heating, considering not all of you had wolf heat. “It’s literally been an hour since we agreed on you doing it tomorrow” Scott sighed, putting his head in his hands. “I know, but look at her” he said in admiration, staring over at the table you were on. Lydia was helping you with your homework and you’d never looked more beautiful, you sat with a furrowed brow staring down at your paper with your hair tucked behind your ear. You glanced up and caught eye contact with Stiles, his eyes were glazed and you laughed as he snapped out of his gaze. “I'm doing it now” he stood up from his chair and began to walk over to you slowly, shaking his sweaty hands and not looking away from you as you scribbled onto your paper. He was about half way across the library when suddenly he felt something hard hit him as he fell to the ground. Books and sheets of paper flew everywhere and there was an eruption of quiet giggles and hushes. Stiles pealed the paper that was covering his eyes to see Liam lying on top of him with an awkward expression on his face. “Get. Off. Of. Me” Stiles sounded concerningly calm. Liam lifted himself up and offered his hand out to help Stiles, “I'm sorry I wasn't looking where I was going and I didn't see you walking towards me and-” he barely finished his rambling before Stiles became distracted and rushed off. “ Where’s Y/n?” he asked, half out of breath. “Oh she had to leave, she told me to ask if you were okay though” Lydia said, packing her own books away. “Great” he said with an eye roll. “Honestly you’re making this crush of yours so obvious, why are you so desperate to talk to her?” she asked with a smirk. “I'm telling her that I - Wait, you know I like her?” he asked as his mouth gaped open. “Yes Stiles, I'm surprised she hasn't figured it out herself” she shook her head with a smile. “Whatever it is you need to talk to her about you have two hours because she’s going home early after lunch” she added, before walking away to her next optional AP class. “Two hours, you can do this” he breathed.
He wasn't in your next lesson and time couldn't have gone slower. Malia watched, shaking her head as he sat there looking at the clock with a stupid expression on his face. The sound of him clicking his pen to the noise of the clock ticking echoed in her head for the whole period. As soon as the bell for lunch went he practically ran to the school cafeteria. He was the first on your usual table, Malia followed swiftly behind, confused as to why he didn't walk down with her. Kira and Scott then followed and took their seats. Liam and Mason sat on the edge of the table, he was still embarrassed by the whole falling on him thing. Finally you walked over with Lydia. You took your seat at the other end of the table, opposite Stiles. You ate your lunch while you all talked as usual, though you couldn’t help notice as Stiles stared down at the table. Hayden had also joined you all at this point. “Are you okay?” you asked, breaking away from the conversation. “I need to tell you something” he tried to say quietly. “Oh yeah, sure” you smiled. “I lo-” he began for what seemed like the 100th time that day. “Y/L/N, did you forget about your lunch detention today for skipping class you little delinquent?” Coach asked, blowing his whistle. You took a sip of your coffee and turned to look at him, “I have no idea what you’re talking about” you said innocently. “Now!” he called, but before you could reply someone interrupted. “Coach...Shut up” Stiles said sarcastically. “I have been trying to say this all day and I have been interrupted for the last time!” he said standing up. “I love you Y/n, there I said it. I am completely and utterly in love with you” he said a little too loudly, only focusing on you. Half of the students in the cafeteria where staring at you, including all of your friends; who were sitting there with huge grins and smirks on their faces. You almost spat your coffee all over him. You had a shocked expression on your face for a second, before a bright smile formed. For some strange reason you weren't embarrassed, only wrapped up in the though of the boy you had liked forever liking you back. “I love you too” you blushed, never thinking this would be the first time you’d say that to him. “Right that's enough, come on” Coach said with a disgusted look on his face. You were practically pulled out of the room but your eyes remained fixated on Stiles’.
Later on someone knocked on your front door and you knew exactly who it was. “Did you really mean it?” he asked without hesitation, walking in. “Of course I did” you smiled widely. “So what now?” he asked with a grin on his face. “People who love each other, should be together” you implied. “I guess you’re right” he agreed. After the hectic day he’d had, you thought you may as well give him a hectic end. You wrapped your arms around his neck and felt his around your waist as he leant down and pressed his lips to yours in a long awaited kiss. The passion was something you’d never change about the two of you and it was something you’d never lose. You loved him and he adored you. As much as he had hated that day, he wouldn’t change it for the world.
Sorry its kind of rushed but I waned to get something out x

Now your turn : 3, 18, 14, 21. 46
Thanks for the ask! :)
3. What is the best fandom you’ve ever been involved in?
I’m definitely going to say the Revolution fandom because while there has been the occasional drama it is overall a lovely fandom filled with lovely people who are so kind. I really love how people in the fandom are so much more accepting of characters and ships that they aren’t so fond of than in big fandoms where it’s just two sides bashing each other for liking different characters or ships.
18. What ship have you written the most about?
Ooh, this is an interesting one and it definitely has gone through phases over time (kind of like fandoms I’ve written in). I’m going to have to go look this one up, but I am going to guess Charloe. Yup. It is Charloe. I have also written a lot of Klaroline though and there are some other pairings that I’ve written quite a bit for, but there’s definitely a clear front-runner.
14. Go on, who are your BroTPs?
Well, for Revolution it’s obviously Miles & Bass and Charlie & Nora (although both of those also become romantic ships at times). Also, I really would have liked to have Jeremy and Miles’ old friendship explored, but we never got that chance…
I could make an endless list of ones, so I’ll just throw in a few good ones from other fandoms:
Nathan and Lucas from One Tree Hill - I am such a sucker for this kind of dynamic between actual brother characters (also Brooke & Peyton and Lucas & Haley are pretty great combos in this show)
Scott and Stiles from Teen Wolf - these dorks could not be much closer and more prepared to die for each other and I love them (also Allison & Lydia are amazing and I was a fan of Kira & Malia but I romantically ship those ones more than I romantically ship Sciles, although I am not opposed to romantic Sciles)
Ryan and Seth from The O.C. - they aren’t even technically brothers at first and Ryan is just the juvenile delinquent that Seth’s lawyer dad brings home for one night because he has nowhere to go and then Seth has always wanted a brother and a friend so bad and they become besties and brothers willing to throw everything away for each other so fast and Ryan has a new brother who is a way better influence than his real one and I just love these two so much. I am such a sucker for this kind of storyline. (I mean I do like Summer & Marissa and generally the whole group dynamic and Marissa & Seth, but Seth & Ryan win)
Allison and Scanlon from Medium - a happily married female with a male work friend that her husband doesn’t worry about even when he calls her at all hours and she goes out to meet him on short notice regularly. Unlike most tv shows where it’s all no you can’t have a single man friend without the husband being jealous and worried and then the wife saying no, he can’t be interested in me, and then it turning out that the husband was right and man friend is only friends with her because he wants to date her they are actually totally platonic friends and her husband is okay with it and as he gets in a relationship later his girlfriend never is bothered by it either. What is not to like? Seriously, other shows need to take note and give more representation of male/female friendship without all of the drama around it. Let men and women be friends without acting like there has to be some ulterior motive.
Jake and Holt from Brooklyn Nine-Nine - they learn so much from each other and I love how close they have become and when how adorably happy Jake gets when Holt surprises him and how Holt’s character doesn’t completely change. He stays the same hard and serious person while also growing so close to Jake and revealing more sides of himself.
21. What was the first fanfic you ever wrote?
I am quite happy that this no longer exists on the internet and I probably wouldn’t ever be able to find the file even if I wanted to, but the first one I ever posted and which I think probably was the first I ever wrote was a Holly/Vince fic for the show What I Like About You. And you can tell that was a long time ago because I had to go double-check that those are actually the character’s names. I’m almost positive I was 11 at the time.
46. If someone was to read one of your fanfics, which fic would you recommend to them and why?
Ooh, this is a tough one because there are some that I think are cringe-worthy, then go back to read and think oh this is better than I thought and then there are some that I think are a lot better than others, but then I go back to read and cringe through them. Plus I frequently forget some of them exist and also occasionally mix up which title is which one.
And obviously it would depend on what fandoms/characters/pairings/genre the person was interested in, but assuming that they were an equal level of interested in all of the things I would probably suggest I Want to Hold Your Hand as a finished work. Mainly because I’m pretty proud of Charlie and Bass’s new method of communication and their non-verbal bickering at the same time as they are in a mess together and it’s them against everyone else.
And as a still in-progress one (because I had to cheat a little and suggest more than one) I would probably say Daddy Issues because I really like how this one isn’t really a ship focus and more of Charlie and Miles struggling to figure out their dynamic after Charlie finds out Miles is her birth father and runs off to Chicago to meet him.
