I totally thought this dude dropped off the face of the earth after he left Faber Drive. Never saw or heard of him again 😂
Turns out he’s Shawn Mendes’ guitar player, Zubin.
Whatever he was doing between 2008 (when I took these photos) and before joining Shawn’s posse still remains a mystery though!

Black-Billed Magpie (I saw one!!!)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I have never seen a magpie before! I was so surprised to see it chilling on a fence. It looked like a crow dressed up for a ball. I was driving, and pulled off to get a better look so I could identify it. The blue sheen of its feathers and long slender tail were stunning in the light of the sunset. (I saw it west of its normal range. These corvids seem as brilliant as crows in behavior and intelligence.)

Thinking of a Rock Band AU where Lead Singer!Gojo might be a closet romantic...
Tumblr media
Related to that one post I made about a 🎸Rock Band AU with Sukuna, Choso, Gojo, and Geto 😩
I actually imagine Gojo falls for a member of their assistants or staff.
He develops a crush on one of the band's assistants.
This particular assistant has a special interest in music (especially the metal genre, obviously).
It took a whole ass year for Gojo to realize he has feelings for this assistant.
I imagine their romance is the type that developed over a period of time together. They hinged because of common interests, close proximity, and undeniable chemistry.
And after he realizes that he caught feelings, cue the insistent pestering and playful teasing that's borderline unhinged and annoying.
His bandmates catch on to what's going on. Suguru is the first to notice, obviously. Choso encourages Satoru to go for it because the ramping sexual tension is getting too thick. Sukuna gives side-eye, but doesn't really care "where Satoru Gojo sticks his dick in." <--- Sukuna's words, I imagine. Although I should clarify that Sukuna doesn't care as long as it doesn't affect the band's performance.
Gojo takes the assistant on multiple hangouts disguised as dates.
Most common type of "hangouts": late-night drives through the city, nightclub-hopping, bar-hopping, 1AM convenience store runs, nighttime picnics in an empty park. (Their picnic food is always just junk food that they picked up from a convenience store nearby).
They actually end up in a situationship. I blame Gojo.
When they fall in love and start dating, they keep it quiet and lowkey, but Gojo WILL NOT shut up about his new partner when he's with the guys.
Man always finds a way to insert his S/O into the conversation. Whether he and the guys are practicing a new song, recording vocals or instrumentals, or meeting up with investors, Gojo will always bring up his S/O at one point or another.
Gojo actually ends up writing several love songs for his S/O.
The vibe of the love songs he writes? Think Faber Drive... Maybe "You and I Tonight" or "Tongue Tied."
Some of the songs, he releases as Singles as a solo artist.
Sometimes he writes songs with the vibe of "Chasing Cars" or or "I'll Never Love Again" from the movie A Star is Born.
He doesn't release those though... The super emotional love songs he either keeps to himself or is meant for his S/O's ears only.
Sometimes their date nights are just him and his S/O writing a song together, or him teaching his S/O how to play an instrument because they asked to be taught.
His fans can't get enough of his lovesick alter-ego. Because as the front-man of the band, the four of them are really badass. And when it's just Satoru as a solo artist, a softer and more playful side comes out.
The fans have Gojo's S/O to thank for his behavior.
It is public knowledge that Gojo has an S/O, but he keeps his S/O's identity out of the public eye.
Though, his efforts (while commendable and really good), aren't that successful, because the paps are relentless and the identity of his lover does come out eventually.
The fun begins when he and his S/O start playing along with the public attention and the fans and the media can't get enough of the PDA.
Think public makeouts, being spotted in a nightclub dancing together, lovey-dovey interactions on the red carpet, etc.
Gojo can't keep his hands to himself.
Needless to say, Choso, Suguru, and Sukuna are just done with it. They won't say it loud, but I like to think they're silently happy Satoru found someone. 😁

Lux Interior performing in a striped suit during a Cramps gig on April 1st, 1978, for the re-opening of the short-lived CBGB 2nd Avenue Theatre, an event which obviously called for a formal attire, as captured by Pat Hefley (there’s another iconic shot from that gig by Stephanie Chernikowski on the back cover of ‘Gravest Hits’, with Lux climbing over the chairs mid-audience).
CBGB Theatre, aka CBGB Second Avenue Theatre and originally known as Public Theatre, Antillas Theatre & later as Anderson Theatre, was Hilly Kristal’s brilliant, yet poorly executed plan to expand operations with an additional show venue of a near-2,000-capacity venue which could host the crowds that were getting out of hand by late-’77 at CBGB OMFUG. Unfortunately the building he bought but never really checked out was in a shabby state of repair and cost a lot of money to meet the standards of safety and modernization.
According to various anecdotes from Roman Kozak's ‘This Ain't No Disco: The Story of CBGB’ (Boston: Faber and Faber, 1988):
“...It opened on a Tuesday night, Dec. 27, 1977, with Talking Heads headlining, supported by the Shirts and the Tuff Darts. The next night it was the Dictators, the Dead Boys, and the Luna Band (formerly Orchestra Luna). Then Patti Smith headlined December 29, 30, and New Year's Eve. There were problems right from the beginning...
...[says] Bill Shumaker. "It was in December, it was bitter cold, but the heating system never really worked. I never went down into the basement, but you could look down and it honestly looked like one of the rings in Dante's Inferno. And down there was the boiler. Everybody got serious colds...
....[Sound engineer] Norman Dunn: "It was an exercise in how many things could go wrong. In twenty-seven degree temperature you don't spray soundproofing under the balcony. It doesn't dry. At the first note it started falling down. The boiler room was under eleven feet of water because the water mains broke. The generator outside was running the electricity for everything and it was driving the neighbors crazy...There were threats, the police were there; but it would have cost $15,000 and Con Edison would have had to rip up the street to make things right. And this thing was opened on a shoestring. So every time the lights would go full blast, the sound would die to a whisper...
...Joel Webber is even more graphic, though he does exaggerate for effect: "The place was disgusting. It made the CBGB club look like the Rainbow Room. We were talking about eighty years' worth of dirt. I mean there was popcorn left over from the last performance of the Yiddish theater in 1925...”
/streetsyoucrossed.blogspot.com/
After the Patti Smith dates, the Theater closed and was briefly used as a rock'n’roll flea market, re-opening for shows with the Jam and the Tuff Darts on March 31st & the Cramps, the Erasers and the Sic F*cks on April 1st 1978. It is believed that by mid-’78 the new enterprise had come to an end, costing Kristal a loss of about $160,000.

Flowers & Breakfast
Tumblr media
Female reader x Brock Faber
Warning: fluff Brock
word count: 0.2k
let me know what you guys think🤍
My alarm woke me up at 7 a.m. today I have to be at class for 8:30 a.m. to complete my last ever exam before I graduate.
Brock slept over last night so he could help me study, when I turned around to cuddle before I had to get out of bed to get ready he wasn’t there. I heard some noises coming from the kitchen so I lazily got out of bed and made my way to the kitchen.
When I got there I saw a bouquet of flowers on the counter and Brock cooking breakfast. I quietly made my way behind him and wrapped my arms around his waist and kissed his back.
“Good morning” I said softly.
“Good morning babe, go sit down, I’m almost done cooking breakfast.” He said smiling softly at me. He turned around and kissed me on the forehead before pushing me toward the island so I could sit down, making me chuckle.
“You didn’t have to do this” I said smiling.
“Of course I did, you’ve been stressed out lately about this exam, so I thought I would help make it better, the flowers are for you” he said smiling.
“Thank you babe”
“Always, you’re going to ace that exam today, I just know it”
“I hope so”
“you will, don’t doubt yourself, you’ve been studying non-stop, you’re ready” he said before setting down a plate with breakfast in front of me.
“Now eat and go get ready, I’ll drive you to class” he said kissing my forehead again.
“I love you”
“I love you more” he said smiling.

Hey, I have ADD that only just got diagnosed. Pretty sure my 5yo daughter has the exact same style of it. I had trouble listening to people because I legitimately couldn’t focus on what they were saying, and she’s also struggling with it.
For other situations, I’ve taught her the strategies I figured out and taught myself over the years. For the listening… I don’t know how to help. I still struggle with not interrupting people, noticing people are talking to me, etc, and I’m nearly thirty years older than her!
It’s driving my partner bonkers, though. They don’t know how to get her to listen to important information and asked me for help… Do YOU have any advice? I tried googling it and got stuff about discipline that was just…awful.
Side notes: I’m autistic, she might be, too. She’s easily frightened so surprises can make her burst into tears. Not sure if you might need anything else.
Also not sure if you’re still active, but I’m desperate enough to send an ask anyway.
Thanks for your time!

My 8yo also has trouble listening. I think it's a pretty normal thing regardless, but of course we ADHDers can struggle more than typical people because our attention is so variable.
What can help with this issue (everyone is different, some might help, some might make things worse):
Fidget toys--sometimes if our hands are busy, our brains can focus better.
Visual aids--use pictures to illustrate your points.
Limit distractions--if there's something that particularly affects her ability to listen, have an expectation that she stop that thing when someone is talking to her. For example, if words are in front of my face I don't hear what people are saying to me: the text shuts down my ears. So I have to ensure that I'm not looking at words if someone is talking to me.
Choose your times carefully--it's normal to struggle more when something is out of whack, and ADHDers aren't great at noticing these things. Don't try to tell her something important if she is hungry, needs to use the bathroom, is too hot or too cold, is really tired or overwhelmed, or is in a heightened emotional state.
Keep age in mind--There are things that are developmentally normal for 5yos, and I think tuning out adults is one of them. The number of interesting moments I've had with neurotypical 5yos (back in my babysitting days) is pretty high.
I would also recommend the book How to Talk so Little Kids Will Listen, by Joanna Faber and Julie King. It's apparently available in print, as an e-book, and as an audio book. I haven't read it myself (I bought it when my kid was little but he's 8 now so I guess I don't need the book anymore) but lots of parents recommend it.
Followers, have you found ways to get yourself to direct your focus to what you actually need to pay attention to?
-J

Postscript
And some time make the time to drive out west Into County Clare, along the Flaggy Shore, In September or October, when the wind And the light are working off each other So that the ocean on one side is wild With foam and glitter, and inland among stones The surface of a slate-grey lake is lit By the earthed lightning of a flock of swans, Their feathers roughed and ruffling, white on white, Their fully grown headstrong-looking heads Tucked or cresting or busy underwater. Useless to think you'll park and capture it More thoroughly. You are neither here nor there, A hurry through which known and strange things pass As big soft buffetings come at the car sideways And catch the heart off guard and blow it open.

My sibling names Tatort/Polizeiruf characters

Tumblr media
(Alexander "Sascha" Bukow - Polizeiruf Rostock)
3. Name: Wilma.

Additional Comment: He is very old.
Tumblr media
(Julia Grosz & Thorsten Falke - Tatort Hamburg & Umg.)

10. Name: Daniela.
Additional Comment: She looks like professor Trelawney. I think she'd be a history teacher who makes pottery on the weekends.

There’s two inherent issues with the idea of doing Bionicle again and both of them have to do with what Faber called “the Story Engine.”
1) You can’t make Mata Nui the underlying mystery arc again, because we already know the answer to that question. God is a big fuckin’ robot and everybody lives inside him and makes his organs work. It doesn’t matter how well-realised that is, they’re never going to be able to recapture the feeling we got back in 2008, when we cracked open the final comic or logged onto the website to see the Mata Nui Rising animation. And they won’t be able to do it solely for the newcomers either, because it’s functionally impossible to get into Bionicle without being told that Mata Nui is a big robot. That’s kind of a problem because the big fuckin’ robot is literally the entire point of the story.
2) Everyone wants to do 01 again (and 02-03 to a lesser extent), but in the grand scheme of things, the plot for the “golden years” barely matters. 01-03 is basically a string of introductions to incredibly important characters who don’t start actually doing anything of note until at least 04. The Toa Nuva, arguably the main protagonists of the story, don’t actually start achieving things until their story serial in 2007. Before then, they manage a few stop-gaps against a villain that literally wanted them to win, and get their asses beat by rapping fish-orcs so the 01-03 Matoran could take the mantle of heroes.
01-03 is important story-wise because it introduces all of the series’ most pivotal protagonists (The Metru, Nuva, Mahri, and Takanuva) and its main villain, but in terms of the actual plot, very little of it actually matters. Those pivotal characters are mostly standing around and waiting for Teridax to open the door back to the place where all the plot actually happens.
Mata Nui is the driving force of the plot, but 01-03 takes place outside of Mata Nui’s body, where the only references to him are vague and/or bare more resemblance to a creation myth than the reality of the plot.

First look: The Maserati MC20 Cielo
The MC20 super sports car, now also a spyder: Maserati presents MC20 Cielo, a one-of-a-kind car that can deliver the performance of a true super sports car, together with a holistic and immersive driving pleasure the like of which has never been seen before.
MC20 Cielo announces its special features in its very name: MC stands for Maserati Corse (‘Racing’); 20 refers to 2020, the year that began the brand’s new era; Cielo (‘sky’) highlights the fact that it is a model devoted to driving pleasure in the great outdoors, while maintaining all the prerogatives of the coupé.
Equipped with the revolutionary V6 Nettuno engine, the Cielo offers a perfect mix of sportiness and luxury, courtesy of a specification unique to the segment: the innovative retractable glass roof.
In actual fact, the new spyder acts a meeting point between Maserati audacity and the infinite sky, featuring a special “sky feeling”. The model is equipped with a state-of-the-art electrochromic (smart glass) window that can instantly be transformed from clear to opaque at the touch of a button on the central screen, courtesy of Polymer-Dispersed Liquid Crystal (PDLC) technology. The roof is also best-in-class in terms of thermal insulation and of opening and closing speed (just 12 seconds). Courtesy of this epitome of technology, MC20 Cielo provides a multi-sensory driving experience: all-encompassing with the roof closed and opaque; unique for the in-cabin brightness when the roof is transparent; holistic with the top down.
Developed at the Maserati Innovation Lab and produced at the historic plant on Viale Ciro Menotti, the spyder is 100% made in Italy and 100% made in Modena, as is the coupé version.
MC20 Cielo is designed for perfection. It weighs just 65 kg more than the coupé, made possible by meticulous, precise work during the stages of the car’s design. As well as its outstanding weight-to-power ratio, the carbon fiber chassis (the same for all three configurations to come: coupé, spyder and the future electric version) also guarantees uncompromising torsional rigidity, offering a combination of extraordinary handling on the road and on the track.
The new spyder is a car with an elegant yet highly sporty design. Its character and personality are truly eye-catching for the purity of its forms and the refined aerodynamics subjected to 360° testing in a wind tunnel, whether the roof is open or closed. Nothing is superfluous in the design; everything has its own function. The only concession to a surprise effect is the butterfly doors, as in the MC20 super sports car.
The butterfly door provides much easier access into and out of the cabin, as well as showing off the carbon fiber cockpit and the completely unmasked front wheel.
From an aesthetic perspective, the launch version features a new three-layer metallic color known as Acquamarina, available as part of the Maserati Fuoriserie customization program.
A color that interacts with light, revealing itself in a surprising way. The base is a pastel grey inspired by racing, reminiscent of the MC20’s sporty DNA, accompanied by an iridescent aquamarine mica that enlivens the hue and makes it exceptional.
The new model also adds a wide range of Active Safety Systems. As well as the parking sensors, rear-view camera and blind spot monitoring included in the MC20 since the MY22, the new spyder introduces autonomous emergency brake, traffic sign information and a new 360° camera.
MC20 Cielo is equipped with an optional High Premium Sonus faber audio system. The MC20 Coupé system, an EISA award-winning in-vehicle audio system, has been specifically optimized to fit the unique acoustic and positioning needs of the spyder’s cabin, situating the system’s 12 speakers to result in the Natural Sound that distinguishes Sonus faber audio systems. Finally, the in-car experience is managed from the Maserati Intelligent Assistant (MIA) Multimedia system, and from Maserati Connect.
At the World Premiere of the new Maserati spyder, the bond with the sky will be the central theme, to take you into a new, holistic dimension: just raise your eyes and look up to the sky.
