The relationship between Magnus and Alec on Shadowhunters is one of the best 'ships currently on television.

Alec is a Shadowhunter and head of the New York Institute while Magnus is the High Warlock of Brooklyn. Seeing as they're both in charge of two groups who don't particularly get along, they have the odds stacked against them in almost every way.

Despite their struggles, Alec and Magnus never let their differences keep them apart. They have proved throughout the series that their love is strong enough to overcome anything life throws at them.

Not only are they great representation for the LGBTQ community, but they also have a pure and healthy relationship that everyone can look up to. They're one of the many reasons we're all fighting so hard to #SaveShadowhunters.

It's obviously impossible to name every amazing Malec scene, but we compiled a slideshow of 31 of our favorite Malec moments below!

1. Their first time on 2x18 "Awake, Arise, or Be Forever Fallen"

There are so many amazing things that could be said about this scene as a whole. The music, the kissing, and Alec telling Magnus how beautiful he is officially ended us all.

2. Team work makes the dream work on 3x02 "The Powers That Be"

Anytime Malec teams up in the face of danger they always accomplish their goal. It's clear that being around each other makes them stronger.

3. Alec and Magnus' first kiss on 1x12 "Malec"

This was the iconic kiss that no one will ever forget. Alec literally walked back down the aisle of his own wedding to plant one on Magnus in front of everyone. And yes, Magnus and Alec are so epic that they actually had an episode named after them.

4. That time they turned Shadowhunters into a crime drama on 3x02 "The Powers That Be"

Somehow, Magnus and Alec are the best partners in crime and the worst. Being sneaky and subtle is not their strong suit, yet surprisingly they still managed to get the job done.

5. Malec gets domestic AF on 3x03 "What Lies Beneath"

Alec's cooking may not have been the best but thankfully Magnus was there to make some er...magical improvements. But you know what they say, a couple who cooks together stays together.

6. AU Alec pulls a Magnus on 1x10 "This World Inverted"

When Magnus and Alec first met Magnus inferred that Alec was playing hard to get. It's a good thing Magnus and otherworldly Alec both love a challenge.

7. Magnus and Alec kill us with cuteness on 3x01 "On Infernal Ground"

This scene was all kinds of adorable. Once Magnus is truthful with Alec and admits he doesn't want him to go to Idris, Alec tells him that his real dream was finding someone like Magnus. He assures Magnus that he's not going anywhere.

8. Cuddling ensues the morning after on 2x18 "Awake, Arise, or Be Forever Fallen"

Their first morning after was everything we hoped it would be and more. It's clear just how much these two love each other and what the night before meant to them.

9. Magnus being a worried boyfriend on 2x13 "Those of Demon Blood"

Seeing Magnus worry about Alec going out alone was absolutely precious. Honestly, these two couldn't act any more married if they tried.

10. Malec is here to stay on 2x08 "Love is a Devil"

We already knew that Malec was a permanent thing, but hearing Alec say the words out loud to Magnus was especially satisfying.

11. Gift giving on 2x07 "How Are Thou Fallen"

Like Magnus said, Alec is always surprising him. In just one of many examples of him being an adorable boyfriend, Alec gives Magnus an Omamori charm which is said to offer health and protection.

12. Magnus and Alec talk it out on 2x01 "This Guilty Blood"

It's impossible for couples to go through life without facing challenges. But Magnus lets Alec know that they need to work through problems together instead of getting nervous and pushing each other away.

13. Immortality angst on 3x05 "Stronger Than Heaven"

It's not that we love the angst but well...we love the angst. The fact that the basis of Magnus and Alec's fight was that they never wanted to be without each other was somehow both heartbreaking and heartwarming.

14. Alec comforts Magnus on 2x15 "A Problem of Memory"

Magnus finally opened up to Alec about what he was going through and Alec did the only thing he could. He was there for him completely.

15. True love's kiss on 2x03 "Parabatai Lost"

Things were not looking good for Alec this episode. His soul was lost alongside his parabatai's and getting Jace back was the only way to wake Alec up. Although it (sadly) didn't work, the fact that Magnus tried to kiss Alec back to life gave us all the feels.

16. Magnus and Alec's first date on 2x06 "Iron Sisters"

A first date was much needed between these two. They finally got to talk about the things that were important to each of them. Despite Alec not being at all experienced and Magnus being extremely experienced in the dating world, they showed how determined they are to make things work.

17. Malec teaches us about healthy relationships on 2x20 "Beside Still Water"

In the words of Magnus Bane quoting Alec Lightwood, relationships take effort. Magnus and Alec both understand that in order to have a healthy relationship they need to put in the work. And these two are willing to do whatever it takes.

18. Alec tells Magnus he loves him on 2x10 "By the Light of Dawn"

After Alec spent a few horrifying moments thinking that Magnus was dead, we got an epic declaration of love. Their first I love you is always going to be one of Shadowhunters' best scenes and it's impossible to watch it dry-eyed.

19. Love at first sight on 1x04 "Raising Hell"

From the moment Magnus and Alec met sparks were flying. You can tell from Alec's nervous smile and the way he can't keep his eyes off Magnus that he is crushing hard.

20. Magnus and Alec get back together on 2x20 "Beside Still Water"

When Magnus and Alec are together it almost feels like everything in the show is going to be okay. When they were apart the world was very literally falling apart around them. Alec tells Magnus that he can't live without him, and we connected with Alec on a spiritual level.

21. A magical dinner by the fire on 2x17 "A Dark Reflection"

When Alec misses their date, Magnus brings the date to him with a wave of his hand. Having a boyfriend with magic powers sure does come in handy.

22. Alec (literally) gives Magnus his strength on 1x06 "Of Men and Angels"

Even warlocks can run out of power and Magnus was fading fast. Thankfully, Alec was there to offer his own strength in whatever way he needed. Magnus was obviously surprised by Alec's inclination to help him and admitted that it's rare to find a Shadowhunter with such an open heart.

23. The aftermath of Valentine's destruction on 2x12 "You Are Not Your Own"

This entire episode was absolutely tragic. When Magnus is hurting so is Alec, and the devastation when he realized he couldn't take away Magnus' pain is agonizing. This moment may not be a happy one, but it definitely made us emotional.

24. Alec opens Magnus up to love for the first time in a century on 1x06 "Of Men and Angels"

Although Magnus had been in love with both men and women before, he closed himself off from feeling anything for anyone for almost a century. But from the moment he met Alec his heart immediately opened back up. If that's not true love than what is?

25. The heartbreaking goodbye on 3x10 "Erchomai"

This scene was a mess of emotions. Magnus couldn't stand by and do nothing while he watched someone so important to the man he loves fade away. Alec told Magnus that he needs to make it back and of course, Magnus' reply was perfect.

26. Unofficial first drinks on 1x06 "Of Men and Angels"

What Alec doesn't know in this scene is that he's sharing his first drink with the love of his life. Of course, with the way these two couldn't keep their eyes off of each other they must have had some idea.

27. Malec's photo booth pics on 2x19 "Hail and Farewell"

Magnus staring at a photo strip of him and Alec after their breakup was devasting. But we couldn't help but fawn over the fact that Magnus and Alec actually had the chance to go out and do cute couple things. Where's our flashback of the photo booth scene?

28. Magnus tries to convince Alec to call off his wedding on 1x12 "Malec"

We were right there with you Magnus. Even though Lydia was a great character, Alec was only marrying her out of duty and obligation. Magnus could see right through him and tried to get Alec to admit who he really had feelings for.

29. Hug and make up on 3x07 "Salt in the Wound"

These two still had some things to talk about, but in this moment the only thing that mattered was their love for each other. With other things taking precedence, they just had to take a moment to make sure the other knew they were sorry.

30. Handholding on 3x02 "The Powers That Be"

Alec was pretty nervous about being the only Shadowhunter in a party full of warlocks, but Magnus was quick to help calm his nerves.

31. Reconciliations on 2x13 "Those of Demon Blood"

After Alec realized he was in the wrong for asking Magnus for a piece of hair to verify his innocence, Alec assures him that he never has to prove himself. He trusts Magnus implicitly.

Some responses

Maybe it's a difference of opinion, but someone who attended the play clarified that by the time Henry got to the UD, he already had his powers because he was able to defend himself while he was there with said powers.

It's not a situation where someone can plop into the Upside Down for 5 minutes and get their powers. Nancy, Joyce, Hopper, Steve and Robin aren't about to become super powered because they were there for a few hours.

I'm not too bothered about Brenner's original interest in the UD. I already knew about the Philadelphia Experiment with the ship and it's relationship with the Montauk Project. It is never mentioned in the show even though the creators of the Montauk Project use it as one of the pinnacles of their "evidence" so seeing it finally tied into stuff here is kinda neat.

It doesn't change much with Brenner's story. I did write a post a while back I think saying I don't think Brenner was aware of other worlds until the incident in 1979, but I guess this disproves that.

He believed in what most people thought was a conspiracy and was finally proven right by what El did in 1979. Brenner's obsessed with El, Henry and the UD makes sense. He's a weirdo fanatic that probably would've written Montauk Project himself if he weren't one of the main people involved with it.

This is not what was stated by the person who saw the play.

Kali's involvement with this doesn't make a ton of sense right now. It's too coincidental that Brenner found a pregnant European woman in the US, had her injected, and then she went back home all chill? Just seems odd. Did he have agents all over the world randomly pricking pregnant woman with Henry's blood, possibly killing most of them, and then taking the children of the ones who showed promise when they were born?

Kali's story would make a lot more sense if there are just naturally gifted people out in the world rather than this blood transfusion story they're going with but whatever.

I have no choice but to believe a lot of women had no idea they were being experimented on in the first place and didn't willingly give up their children.

For example, Terry. She was involved in MKUltra yeah but she supposedly stopped participating when she found out she was pregnant.

Or if we go with the Suspicious Minds explanation, Brenner knew she was pregnant before she did because they took urine samples every visit and he continued to experiment on her anyway. So I suppose the blood transfusion could've happened then.

Then most of the rest of the women I guess were called in my their ogbyn one day like "Hey we need to do this super dangerous blood transfusion. For your health and the baby of course! NO other reason" and they either lived and then their baby got kidnapped or got sick and died.

Contrived...

As for Bob's involvement, doesn't feel like Bob needed to be involved. Nothing against Bob of course...but it is without a doubt a contradiction.

This play has a big issue that I take with many a prequel........ NOT EVERYONE HAS TO KNOW EACH OTHER IN A PREQUEL. I understand the temptation to be like "Hehe, they were connected all along!"

But if the sequel to the prequel makes it clear that that's not the case... then just don't do it. It ends up being cheesy.

This play is like.... a dream where some bits of relevant information are dropped but the rest is kinda like a fanfic reimagining of the story events by the creator themselves.

I'm not saying that's a bad thing. While I can't think of any off the top of my head right now, the creators making an AU version of their story for shits and giggles is not new.

But them insisting this is canon and will be relevant to season 5..... why are you telling people this is 100% canon when it's contradicting your million dollar show?

In the end, I feel like the "THIS IS ALL CANON" stuff is just marketing to get people to come watch it. To me, this is about as canon as that first Will comic and Suspicious Minds.

I think the best option for any kind of real damage controll for the Faunus arc is an ilia spin-off book

This won’t erase all the problems by a long shot, but making her the protagonist of a book and having her REJECT ghira’s ideals of respectability politics at least gives us ONE competent Faunus revolutionary

Go more into detail on how mistral oppressed Faunus and show that Ilia isn’t afraid to get her hands dirty to combat it

Show that she’s not just following ghira and learned the right lessons from sienna

That just because Adam used her entirely justified and right us anger doesn’t mean she has to give it up

Because Ilia has a right to be angry, after all the injustices she and so many other fuanus have faced why shouldn’t she be angry? She doesn’t need to let go of that anger but instead should channel it towards taking down the oppressive systems that caused her and so many other Faunus’ pain

Unfortunately with atlas and the SDC destroyed she can’t confront the actual monsters from her childhood because Salem already did it for her

But we’re at least supposed to assume mistral has its own issues if classism and systemic racism even if the show didn’t go into it as much as they did with atlas,

I don't think another book is a solution to any of RWBY's major problems. This show already has enough issues with fitting important information into the main show instead of cramming it into spinoff material as it is. Critical information should generally not be found solely in supplemental material. The fact of the matter is that most of the audience is not invested enough in RWBY to buy every book or manga or game or whatever the fuck else is released, and the response to constraining shit like basic worldbuilding to side material from anyone other than hardcore fanatics isn't "Hooray, more RWBY!", it's "Damn it, why wasn't this shit in the main show?". Telling the audience to go do their fucking homework isn't an effective response to complaints about essential information just straight-up missing from the main show and doesn't magically shore up the weaknesses in your writing.

(Frankly, I think it's too late to salvage the White Fang/Faunus rights plotline with anything. That ship sailed when the show decided to ignore the furry racism in favor of shelving Blake and Weiss in the area of the setting both of them had significant connections to and where they should have been the most important members of the cast.)

BPP hi, I've wanted to send you a DM for some time, but every moment I chicken out. I'm new on Tumblr, just starting up my blog for jikook and want to ask you for advice. How do you deal with hate asks and comments? You cover controversial topics, talk straight and candid but in a level-headed way but at the same time you call out the b*llsh*t of both kpop stans and Armys and even Hybe. I just talk about jikook and I am getting people that already hate me and my blog. I imagine you must get more given all the topics you cover. How do you deal with it?

Actually, first I should say that if you're getting extremely abusive asks, escalate it to the reporting team on Tumblr. Use the report and block function and put in a formal complaint through the website. Some months ago I was getting hostile visitors to my blog that I dismissed as just trolls, after all, weird things happen online and especially on Tumblr every day - but turns out, they were more than just trolls. They were underemployed but fanatically motivated k-pop stans/commentators determined to physically hurt me in real life, because the facts I was pointing out were inconvenient for them, and my opinions critical of the k-pop industry and the sycophants trafficking in 'discourse' that excuses that bullshit, were difficult to counter with you know, words and reason. So physical harm in real life was apparently the only solution they had. I made a mistake by not taking them seriously till they tried actual physical harm. Thankfully, I was able to nip that in the bud by escalating to the privacy and reporting team at Tumblr, worked with some experts irl and now those people are permanently banned from using the platform under several IP addresses.

Of course, when I re-opened the blog, almost right away some people were upset that I was writing again, for whatever reason. But that's normal, lol, so I just ignore and delete those asks whenever they pop up. Lol. I don't know what to tell you Anon, but some people are just naturally... like that. They'd score above the average Dark Triad percentile. I know we typically make fun of toxic taekookers but many of those same behaviors we ridicule are found in various shades in k-pop spaces in general - the way this industry runs practically attracts those types. Like I'd go as far as saying the people playing the k-pop game best are taekookers and Tae solo stans. Hobi akgaes are really good at it too. I've said before, if you're a critical and contrarian person, k-pop is the perfect industry for you because you'll never run out of things to have a problem with.

Plus, half the time I have no idea what these people are going on about in my inbox anyway, so I just delete them. Before, during the pandemic, occasionally I'd post a few to tear down and laugh at since I had the time. But now airports are open and I'm back to working full time. I can hardly handle the 10s of asks I sometimes get daily, so it makes no sense to give those complaints any oxygen.

First, why are you chickening out? If you don't mind maybe not getting responses right away, please come say hi. :)

Sad to hear you're a new jikook blogger and already having to deal with BS. But also know it honestly just comes with the territory.

The way I deal with asks that are hostile or just read like they were written by an insane person, is to delete them.

There's also the option of turning off Anonymous asks completely. I know several bloggers sometimes take this route.

If it's especially weird, I report and block. I haven't had to do this in months but if it's extra weird, I report the ask directly to Tumblr's reporting team.

You should also note that the topics you write about can influence whether you get more or fewer weirdos. Shipping spaces are notoriously toxic, so if you'd like to continue writing on the topic, develop a tagging system that shields your content from taekookers, eg, abbreviate or add your blog name to the hashtag.

Whats Warhammer about exactly?

HOO alright, well as a quick disclaimer before we get started, we're only gonna be touching on the subject of Warhammer 40k specifically because I have no experience with Warhammer Age of Sigmar (aka Warhammer Fantasy) to speak of!

This is mainly just gonna be input from my fiancée from here on, since Lily's the one who introduced me to the game and knows SO much more about the lore than I do, so here she is:

"What's Warhammer about?" - It's about wasting lots of money on little toy soldiers so that you can move them around on a table but in reality you'll end up owning way more models than you'll ever paint and they mock you relentlessly for being such a slow painter. There you go: I just saved you years of time and thousands of dollars, you're welcome.

No but seriously: it's a tabletop war game that's set in the 41st millennium (I'm not talking about Age of Sigmar, I spend enough on this crap without playing that too lmao). Humanity has created a dystopian empire under the rule of a guy called the Emperor and he's basically a corpse plugged into a lifesupport machine. He serves 2 main functions: his presence in an alternate dimension called the Warp (don't worry, I'll get to it) allows ships to travel through the space accurately by triangulation based on his position and also he's the official God of the empire...so that's fucked!

The empire is millions of planets and trillions of people, so that's a lot of real estate to babysit. To help with that, they have a massive standing army of regular humans, religious fanatics who will happily die in droves to defend the Emperor, and the Space Marines: 8 foot tall super soldiers who are super hard to kill and are like Master Chief from Halo cranked to 11. If you've ever seen ANY marketing material for Warhammer, you've seen a Space Marine.

Fighting them are the denizens of the Warp (I told you I'd get to it lol), which is an alternate reality where Demons come from (its...a whole lot more than JUST that but this is already a fucking novel). With the Demons are fallen humans and Space Marines who turned from the Emperor and worship the major powers in the warp as gods. There are 4 of these: Khorne the Blood God (he's the one most people know), Nurgle the God of Decay, Tzeentch the God of Change, and Slaanesh the God of Excess.

On top of that nonsense, there are also aliens who hate humanity and they are as follows:

Eldar - literally Space Elves who come in 4 flavors. Craftworld Eldar are your high elves in Space. Dark Eldar (aka Drukhari) are your super sadistic dark elves in space. Corsairs are (you guessed it) pirate elves in Space, and Harlequins who are elf clowns...in Space.

Orks - big, green, very dumb but hit like a truck. Envision Warcraft orcs, give them guns and robots, turn down their smarts and turn up the violence. Honestly a super fun faction to play.

Tyranids - Space locusts who want to eat everything. They work as a hive mind...basically it's the Zerg from StarCraft (and that's my last comparison to a Blizzard IP)

Necrons - Zombie robots with a kind of ancient Egyptian vibe. Picture the robot from Terminator but make it glow green and have ancient Egyptian looking bits like crowns and cloaks of gold.

Tau - basically reptilian with a humanoid form and advanced tech. Suck at melee but that doesn't matter when you can shoot your opponent dead before they can reach you. Caste society that works toward the greater good.

The whole galaxy sucks, people die by the billions constantly and the bureaucracy of the empire just keeps chugging. It's a nightmare future where there's no hope and no one is "good". Speaking of fandom controversy..... i remember when there was an outrage amongst the male gamers when they found out that Kate has a wife. How they literally doubled down and attempted to come up with excuses and "reasons" as to how she said that as a cover up and how she's romantically involved with Price, despite the fact that it's clear that Infinity Ward did it not only to add more depth to her character but also to just not give fanatics any glimmer of hope that there will ever be a romance in CoD games, and they're right. The fact that it wasn't even something shoved into anybody's face nor made a big deal out, bigots were MAD af because a woman isn't interested in a man, let alone Price for that matter.

They're upset that we like GhostSoap, they make "claims" that we ship two straight men, despite the fact that none of these characters really have a personality outside of what they do on the field and chances are it'll stay that way. Imagine saying "straight" because they're both badass men and masculine like they own these characters. In the meantime, fans get fueled because VAs and even the directors of the game support their works. But bigots and fragile minds cannot stand it.

This was sooo ranty and perhaps even inconvenient on my side so i apologize for it but i just had to share how i've seen this community act towards people that just wanna do things that make them happy, and others too.

This is something I've grown more passionate and radical about over the years, as Call of Duty isn't the only FPS I play, and I'm seen very similar outrage occur in Rainbow Six Siege's community (arguably even worse).

It frustrates me, it truly does, and I'm glad the developers are all standing their ground on the matter. Giving out the Stadler (Stich x Adler) banners out for free in CoD Cold War I felt was their own way of flipping the bird toward this unsavory side of the community,

It's unfortunate, and we cannot ignore the homophobia (and other isms) problem in the FPS gaming communities.

Bigots are illogical human beings they really are. They try to come up with the most outrageous excused so that they can deny the existence of characters like Laswell, Flores, Osa, Pulse, Bell, and more.

For instance the argument against Flores and Osa being in siege is that they don't want "politics" in their anti-terrorism game. Ignoring the existence of Post-Soviet cold war politics, pandemic relations, intercultural discourse, and so I dunno terrorism. (not to mention lgbt+ isn't politics) Like mental gymnastics awards should be handed out for that one.

Don't get me wrong there's been significant improvement in the quality of inclusiveness in FPS communities, and FPS communities have their own form of banter and culture I'm not against. But a fine line does need to be figured out I swear it.

I knew it! I knew there had to be some sort of drama going on somewhere I didn't know about. This morning, somebody sent me this message out of the blue that said, "You're disgusting. Don't reblog my art. Being autistic doesn't make you a terrible person." They then blocked me. This individual is a Volo artist who does reasonably good sketches but not good on backgrounds. I habitually reblogged their stuff because they are a committed Volo fanatic.

Out of curiosity, I went on the Volo Nation Discord to ask this person what that message was all about. I jokingly said something like, "The sneaky little spiders of the SJW whisper network must have started some drama. The traffic on my blog ebbs and flows because of this, and now recently, I'm at a descent". Whisper networks would be useful if the women involved called out actual rapists and sexual predators, but amongst the radical left, they're usually petty (fake males) biological females who gossip about people who disagree with them politically.

What do you know, but my intuition was right! -Turns out the message wasn't about autistic people at all. A bunch of them got pissed about my transgendered stance and had a cabal in a locked Discord channel. I got bombarded by the girlies (who will assuredly grow up someday and fall into heteronormative lifestyles) who all had to tell me about how they were 'non-binary' and whatever crap. I told them I was bored and left. When I peeked in just now, I noticed they booted me, which is fine because the algorithm on Twitter is better at throwing me good Volo art.

Srsly tho, transgendered people are BORING. Nobody gives a damn about transgendered people except other transgendered people. Nobody cares about your snowflake gender, unless you are super hot like the God-Emperor of Fuckableness. First Impressions: Warhammer 40,000 Rogue Trader

So what we have here is an XCOM-like turn based strategy game. I refer to XCOM despite hardly being the first of its type, just the one that sort of 'codified' the genre for many players as it was a huge success in its day.

The story is thus; You play as a custom character (or choose one of the three presets to just get into it), regardless of your name you're actually in the bloodline of a specific noble dynasty. How far removed is irrelevant in the setting as you meet two characters in the prologue whose own lineage is varied. In a setting with a vast population beyond our imagining, imagine you're just standing among a couple of insanely distant cousins. As this is Warhammer, stuff goes badly and you're promoted to a very highly ranked person in the Imperium. Standard fare if you've played the likes of Mass Effect. The game essentially just hands you a title to throw around the game at your leisure and there's only a couple of institutions that outrank you at all.

Character creation is robust, perhaps not so much as Baldur's Gate 3's is but I still found myself with several character ideas. Also, clicking the portraits will automatically morph your sprite into something that resembles the portrait which is a very nice touch. Doesn't work with custom portraits but I can still get to an approximation. There's several tabs to chew through that all give and take against various stats you'll know nothing about at first but usually a mouseover or a right click brings up various tooltips (at any point during the game) that will explain what things like "Fellowship" and "carouse" means. There's some mix-matching to play around with as you have six origins to choose from but the game is mostly based around the four base "classes", each choice later evolves into three subclasses after reaching level 16.

So far playing a dozen or so hours into it and gathering several party members, I find the classes to be limiting. Warriors always swing the sword, soldiers always shoot, operatives always plop debuffs. That said, not every skill takes up your entire action pool so I've found even my technical party members still able to bring the hurt with their sidearms. Eventually you get a Mechanicus who can wield two two-handed weapons without swapping and despite him basically being your designated lockpicker, I've used him to bring absolute ruin to my enemies. Again, despite his more debuff based class choices.

You can follow between three paths; Someone who's helpful and idealistic, incredibly fanatical to the Imperium, or go against the grain and slowly become a full blown heretic. Certain equipment is limited to these alignments. My first main character I'm playing as fairly dogmatic, but when I had the chance to quell a small union outcry among my workers on my ship, I chose to hear them out and make concessions. Despite being dogmatic, it is your choice to absolutely start gunning them down and rule through fear. That's just how this world is sometimes. I'm quite certain that choice will come bite my buttocks later down the line.

After that it's just following story beats with encounter after encounter. Your stats are often relevant even in dialog so it's always fun to see how different characters may react to things.

Difficulty seems variable and highly customizeable. So far I've been to two major missions and two locations but nobody seems to ever get completely inflated with hitpoints. Weak enemies always have 7 or 12 hitpoints, all the way from level one to the higher level I am now. Maybe it's act-based and act two might have beefier enemies. Don't know yet. But it seems all my people are only getting a couple hitpoints per level up so you don't exactly barrel into being a complete powerhouse, you simple get more tools and passive perks at your disposal. And there's a ton, most of which I forget about between sessions. I think my Sister of Battle teammate has some kind of perk that gives extra damage when she's adjacent to an ally but in the heat of battle I completely forget that exists and I'm just trying to position my shooters to they are in position to actually hit something. So mostly I try to go for 'unconditional' perks. Can't go wrong with +2 movement.

My current point of contention is the menus. They're not all terribly bad but I have trouble trying to decipher my goals. Within missions there's no map marker directing you where to go, so sometimes I miss a piece of the map that was actually a doorway that leads to a new wing of the ship. Sometimes the objective just states "Find out what's going on" or "reach the reactor" with no direction. I'm just flying by the seat of my pants and just casing the perimeter and so far it's working out well enough. I haven't spent too much time scratching my head... yet.

There's a beefy game here, expect to dump a lot of hours. My first five hours were basically doing the prologue three times to really get all the tutorials to sink in as well as explore different starter archetypes. There's a lot I didn't even talk about (like how you have to manage your mage-type's madness levels, or the injury mechanic, all kinds of things) and that'd just end up exceeding my text limits. There's a lot of game here. I haven't gotten to any game-breaking bugs that litter a lot of reviews but that seems to be a late-game problem and to my knowledge they've been pretty vigilant with hotfixes. I hope they keep it up.

The children try to push the man overboard but the man resists them. He looks at them, having the suspicion that these children must not be what they seem to be but he let it go, giving them the benefit of the doubt.

So the children try again. They push the man harder, and this time the man fights back. In doing so, he accidentally throws one of the children to the sea.

: Why did you do that?!

That ought to teach them a lesson. He then picks up the other child and throws them off. The children can swim, fortunately, and successfully clings on a side of the ship. The man spits on them and walks back down.

In that part of the ship I saw someone staring at nowhere. The sky was none of my concern—fog problem. I wasn't sure if this person was a he or a she and I didn't really want to approach a stranger so I just stared at them. This person has the beautiful long hair tied on top and by the sides like that gorgeous character from a Chinese anime.

Later they came to the eating area, and came to me saying they just found out I was the pilot of the ship. They're a he. He, yes… He has a very beautiful face. He's enchanting.

He asks me about the destination of the ship. For one, that is kind of suspicious, and suspicious shit like that doesn't bode well with me. But he's beautiful. The ship is going to cross the threshold. It's not going "anywhere", per se, since we don't have a set destination. He's confused. Of course, he is, that beautiful bastard. He probably doesn't know anything about the children. The not-children children.

Later that evening he visited the helm without permission. But then I started hearing his voice in my head. He started speaking without opening his mouth. I think he can also see without his eyes. I should've considered the possibility that he could be a fanatic. This guy started ordering me through my brain that I should go to the deck and look beyond the fog. I'd obey him anytime, with those looks. So I did, taking my binoculars with me, pretending to be brainwashed, as he followed me to the fog. When I got up there, I saw that I wasn't the only one there. Everyone else from the ship's crew was there too, and alongside each and every one of them was this beautiful man's duplicate. This guy must be a fanatic. Holy shit they're really hardcore when it comes to this stuff.

So apparently this beautiful man was the priest presiding over the whole sacrifice thing. Cool.

I was kind of hoping that a big tentacle eldritch horror would come out of the water. I didn't expect that the priest guy's face just explode into flaming bones and start skinning those children not-children one by one. The children lay silent. They don't say anything. It's creepy…in a good way. When all of them are the same red bleeding sacrificial goats, the others ready for the plank. We lead those bleeding beings towards the plank to jump without touching them. There are two planks, one for each of them. Just when they're about to jump, a mask appears at the sea, and when the mask opened its mouth, it sucked the sea. The children jumped to it, their blood changing its hue. The priest, alongside the followers of the cult, looks at them, and then says the incantations, which, based on my experience, means "Oh the dreary darkness nightmare solidarity hivemind, we offer to you this tribute for you to keep not hurting us and granting our wishes."

Her concept is basically a combination of Genya Shinazugawa from Demon Slayer (character who can't use the series standard power system and adds a gun) and Izuku Midoriya from My Hero Academia (character not born with power is a fanatic over powers). I do wish I came up with more ideas regarding her interacting with other characters.

All the people I ship romantically with this character: None! Lorelei is asexual and aromantic. Her one true love is magic.

My non-romantic OTP for this character: Her and Julius have the ultimate magic-loving friendship. Julius would go wandering around Clover finding new magic and then when he comes back to Lorelei, she'll geek out over it too and probably write a ten-page essay about the mechanics and theoretical applications of it.

My unpopular opinion about this character: Not enough people know about her for there to be popular and unpopular opinions but here's something I think people would disagree with: Lorelei is just like Asta, with no capability for magic. I think some people would be upset with making Asta less special but I think it's important to Lorelei. Even if she can't use any magic, she loves the concept and how it exists in the world.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: Uh... How do I address this question with an oc? Oh, how about I share something about how they affect canon? For Lorelei, she'd be watching the Magic Knight Entrance Exam and when none of the captains raise their hands for Asta, she goes "no takers? Okay, hey kid why not work with me?" Asta proclaimed he was going to be the Wizard King and she points out that she works directly with him so it'd be a great opportunity. However, Asta still ends up with the Black Bulls because he wants to help people as a Magic Knight. Even so, everyone else present is a little more aware of Asta because one of the Wizard King's close associates made an offer to him and not Yuno with his four-leaf grimoire (there was less opportunity but you get the idea).

My OTP: Lorelei and Julius. Strictly platonically. Julius needs a co-worker who will enable him.

My cross over ship: Let's see Lorelei meet Lady Nagant from MHA. Not romantically but I'd like to see them doing target practice together. And heck, Lorelei would totally be down for learning about Quirks. They're not magic but they're just, if not more, interesting.

A headcanon fact: Or just a fact since I created Lorelei. If I were to write a more complete Black Clover fic involving my ocs, I would definitely find a way for one of Lorelei's guns to end up in Asta's grimoire. She wouldn't even get mad because "oh my gosh that grimoire just absorbs things?! 🤩 And I have a student for gunmanship?! 👀” Also, gives her even more reason to want to research the grimoire. It's one thing for Yuno's grimoire to be able to absorb the spell used to summon the wind spirit. It's another thing for a ragged and peculiar grimoire to absorb a whole physical item!

Finral Roulacase

How I feel about this character: Finral is very funny and likable. He’s a comical loser but in a way that makes me sympathize with him. He can be cowardly and brave. And his struggle to connect with Langris is touching. I want a friend like him in my life.

All the people I ship romantically with this character: Finesse mainly. Little bit of Yami because it's popular with a couple friends.

My non-romantic OTP for this character: Vanessa. They are the elder siblings of the Black Bulls and their teamwork at Seabed Temple and the Witches' Forest was really cool. Also, he needs to be friends with Nacht so they can vice captain the squad together. I also have him being friends with my ocs Helia and Josele, though the relationships are wildly different.

My unpopular opinion about this character: Finral is… kind of useless. Most every mage can use a broom to fly places and others have spells for traveling or mobility. Sure transportation spacial magic is useful for fast travel but it’s not any good for traversing to new locations, which standard mobility spells can accomplish.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: We recently got more reconciliation, and even teamwork, between the space bros. I just wish it didn't end how it did, that being too soon.

My OTP: Finral x Finesse. They're both such sweet people and Finral's humorous determination to be good enough for her really did endear me to him.

My cross over ship: I can’t really think of anyone. Sorry. 😔

A headcanon fact: He knows how to cook. Before Charmy came along, he was the main chef of the Black Bulls. He's decent enough, can get a nice sear on a steak and make good sauces. Nothing too fancy but he's better than just toast and cereal.
