The basic concept is this: The starting person will write a roughly 1,000-word one-shot (more or less is fine) or draw a single fanart scene with a small amount of dialogue/up to three scenes with no dialogue based on a secret prompt. Once they're finished, they'll sum up their fic/drawing in a single sentence, which will be given to the next person in the chain. They will then write or draw something based on the sentence provided by the previous person, and so on until everyone has participated.

F: Firsts (First time having sex together)

Any first with Thrawn is going to be so deeply passionate. He isn't one for random flings, and I don't think he's much for escort services (although he'd respect the profession). For him to truly find release in the arms of someone else, he'd have to trust them, and that in itself is an incredibly tricky thing given his position. Needless to say, anyone Thrawn is having sex with is important to him and has been for a time. Because of that, he is absolutely determined to show them how much he cares.

Every touch, kiss, and caress is filled with hunger and Thrawn's pure desire for intimacy with you. The sex isn't necessarily gentle, it's more reverent. He doesn't treat you like you'll break because he knows you won't.

I feel in my soul that there are probably multiple rounds, but the very first one is Thrawn trying to manifest his feelings for you into a physical form of intimacy. It's slow and intimate lovemaking, but the implication behind it is obvious... your souls are entwining as much as your bodies are.

G: Gentle (Describe gentle/loving mid-sex gestures)

Thrawn is the type to break the pace at which he's fucking you to take a devastatingly slow roll of his hips, press a kiss to your temple, and murmur something to you in Cheunh.

When you learn more of his native tongue, you realize that he's telling you how beautiful you are. Thrawn calls you his beloved, precious, and more, whispering all that you mean to him and just how amazing you are against your skin.

He's also the type to hold your hand while he fucks you, lacing his fingers through yours while you cry out in pleasure.

R: Ruttish (Signs that they’re horny)

His eyes glow brightly when the two of you are alone and he wants physical intimacy. Thrawn is able to hide it (to an extent) when others are around or if the timing isn't appropriate.

That being said, it's also very similar to how they glow when he's excited or intrigued by something. Only like three people probably know him well enough to tell the difference, so he is able to find an easy excuse.

Thrawn also gets handsy when he's in the mood, his voice gets a little deeper, and his accent comes back. Even if he can't get as handsy as he'd like, he still manages clandestine touches of your hand or shoulder. They are touches that seem mundane to everyone, but you know exactly what they mean.

Y: Yawn (How they sleep post-sex)

Alright, there's a certain level of "light sleeper" you have to be when you can be called on at any moment for an emergency (ask me how I know this lmao), and Thrawn is basically on 24/7 call as a Grand Admiral.

That being said, his sleep patterns are interesting. He sleeps better next to his beloved, especially after sex.

Thrawn, the infamous tactician and Grand Admiral of the Seventh Fleet is a clingy cuddler. He needs to feel his beloved is safe in his arms and his preferred sleeping position is any that allows him to fully wrap himself around his partner.

When Thrawn is alone, he tends to wander into his office at 0200 when he has an important thought, or because he needs a fresh perspective on a piece of art he's studying, but when his beloved is sleeping next to him, he's a little more conscious of what is imminently important and what can wait until morning. Thrawn's desire to not disturb his lover actually backfires into him taking better care of himself, too.

I love this fic sooooo much!

It's special because I'm a history nerd too, and while there maybe some contextual clues in the show where Steve talked about WWII, there's not all said about Steve in general, so I love giving him hobbies and interests outside of SportsTM.

I've given him piano and guitar playing (because Joe Keery plays both), chess player, hair stylist, artist, and now sewing. And history.

I also address the show's casual racism toward Lucas. Something that I don't see brought up in fics. In the Lucas book (that I haven't read but according to the wiki) he feels a connection to the black players on the basketball team and how it pulls him away from DND, like Jeff isn't fucking right there.

So I wanted to show a little bit about Lucas and Jeff feeling a kinship with each other as they both battled being a nerd and black.

As for the title, it hasn't gotten to that part of the story yet where I tell why it's called that, but I do hint at it a little when Steve is finishing up Will's tunic. In everything thing Steve alters or sews, he puts in a little embroidery into the hem to mark it as his. Most of the time, it's the same color or as close as he can get as the item he's making so it's invisible, but on his own tunic its a striking silver against the white and blue of the material.

Yes I do 💕There's a lot of reasons, but the two most important are 1) They keep me writing and make me really happy and I can't not reply. I love connecting with others through my stories, and that's really my biggest draw to posting publicly, the human connection and fun conversations that spawn from engaging💕2) very few people, compared to how many actually read your fic, leave comments, which can be really disappointing and discouraging for a writer, even for me and I've been writing for years. So for the people that do take the time out to say something, I have to let them know how much I appreciate them making that effort 💖

I think it's a tie between A Night of Firsts and Flipping the Script? Maybe Eternal should be in here too? Fuck Around And Find Out-Literally ends pretty angsty too🤔 I've written a lot of stories, and it's hard to pick which one 😅

This is another hard one to pick, I have so many that end happy (though technically they all have a happy ending) ummm, another tie I think? Surprise! and Spellbound, ummm, maybe A Day In The Life of the Uzumaki Family too.

House MD flash fiction ask game 2023: Trick or Treating Edition

So there was sufficient interest in an ask game that I’m doing it! Starting w Halloween and then will do the general game. Feel free to use this ask game yourself with the same prompts or use it for inspiration w different prompts or rules!

This game is now closed, but the short fics will be releasing over the next week, and I'll link them as I finish.

How it works:

Asks are open from now until midnight your time on October 31st.

You send me an ask, “Trick or treat! [prompt or prompt no.]” and I’ll write a short fic about it.

Eventually, I’ll post the finished ones up on AO3.

1. A scene from my Lifechanging field trips haunted house idea

a) Thirteen, Taub, and Kutner scheme about getting everyone to go to a special haunted house down the coast

2. Cuddy wants to bring her baby trick or treating for the first time, but Halloween is a terrible night for the ER.

3. A genuine creepypasta. Kutner is pulling an all nighter at PPTH, but it’s getting under his skin to work alone. When he calls Thirteen to help, and she brings Chase, they begin to realize something is deeply wrong. Things shift around them, and the hospital is suddenly, silently empty. Can they find a way out?

The exquisite tomarrymort telephone will proceed thusly!

All participants who are comfortable going first will be added to a randomiser. Once selected, they will be contacted to check the date range works for them.

Most people have voted for a one-week writing/drawing period, so that's what we'll go with! At the moment, the telephone's start date is set for April 8.

How it goes

Once the first person has been confirmed, the rest of the participants will be randomised and assigned a date range that doesn't conflict with any dates they'll be unavailable. Everyone will be contacted to confirm the date range works for them.

Once all the participants have been confirmed, the timeline will be posted. The first person will be given the secret prompt on the Sunday before the telephone starts at 8 PM ET. Once the first person has completed their prompt fill, please submit it as a Google Doc for ease and to preserve formatting (G Drive link will be shared with participants) and share your summary sentence with me or jenny, Master of the Broken Telephone, by DMing this blog. If you're submitting an image, please include a link to your art in the Google Doc for ease of posting on Ao3.

Please also include your summary sentence at the beginning of your submission. That way we can include them in the final fic when posting.

Edit: Please submit your summary/prompt sentence and/or prompt fill by 11:59 PM ET on the Sunday of your week to the G Drive folder. Prompts will be passed on to the next author/artist ASAP. If you need a couple extra hours to finish your story/art, that's okay -- as long as we get the sentence for the next person by the 11:59 deadline.

The finished product will be posted on Ao3 as one fic, with each submission counting as a chapter. If you have an Ao3 username and would like to be listed as an author/artist when the fic goes up, please also include that in your Google Doc submission.

Submission guidelines

Authors will write a roughly 1,000-word one-shot (more or less is fine) based on the prompt they are given.

Artists will draw a single fanart scene with a small amount of dialogue/up to three scenes with no dialogue (or whatever you would like to draw) based on the prompt given.

You are welcome to decide whether you draw or write in the moment. You can write a bullet-point list instead of prose or doodle some stickmen -- as long as you're having fun!

The main rule is that the prompt/sentence/artwork you pass to the next person cannot use the same words as the prompt/sentence you were given, aside from things like names, articles (the, a, an, etc.), and conjunctions (but, and, or, so, etc.). It can be very similar, but describe it in a different way or from another perspective. If all else fails, bust out the thesaurus and go to town. (Edited and changed on March 28.)

NB: You can write or draw NSFW stuff/smut if you're so inclined, but we ask that the prompt/sentence/section of art you submit for the following person be SFW.
