I love Kenpachi "Raised By Eagles" Zaraki, and learning how this affects his behavior and worldview but how does this change Yachiru?

Kenpachi might be human-shaped but he's a bird to the core. How bird like is Yachiru as a consequence? Is her first language Eagle as well? Has she met her extended family (grandmother, aunts, perhaps cousins too) and had flying lessons?

I just love the image of Yachiru being a Chaotic Fledgling, and behind her is a grinning Kenpachi that is just as much a Buck Wild Bird, he's just better at playing at being human.

One Small Correction: Kenpachi is a Sword Guy at his deepest core, but he still considers himself Culturally Eagle, but also that's only one of like 147 Identities he uses. Man collects personas and cultures and memes and jobs and identities like lint, but don't worry- that's just how Things Like Him live.

Kenpachi is also, technically, a Prince, and if he wasn't allergic to honorifics, he would be well within his rights to tell the Kuchiki clan to call him "Kotaishi-Denka", but he doesn't like being called a title he didn't earn. Moreover, he can only tell the nobles that little fun fact *once*, so he's keeping it in his back pocket for the most opportune moment.

Don't Worry about it :)

As for Yachiru:

It's a tough call which is her first language because Kenpachi was speaking to her in Japanese and Eagle and the language of the Northern Tribes he spent a lot of his adolescence with, and the common language of the small spirits like Kodama and Koropokkur when she was an infant and learned them all simultaneously.

Japanese is actually Zaraki's fifth language, and he's been learning how to talk shit in Spanish recently.

Eagle is definitely Yachiru's favorite language to swear in though. Nothing quite as cathartic as a good screech that blasphemes six different gods and curses the object of offense for seven generations in both directions.

Yachiru's gestures and posture are... odd. Some are distinctly Eagle, but she's a constant finger-drummer and hummer, lies and sleeps on her stomach as a matter of preference, walks as easily on her hands as her feet, and writes as easily with her toes as her fingers.

Some of that is learned Directly from her father, but a lot of it seems to be her own peculiarities that all children develop but most have harassed out of them by their parents. Kenpachi had little regard for "proper" behavior out of a child, beyond not endangering herself or getting him in undue trouble. He also has a lot of strange ways of moving that his Mother never tried to correct out of him, so they're both odd birds in that both of them are about five steps to the left of any ind of typical and don't mask a goddamn thing.

As for Yachiru's Extended Family, she occupies a unique position in the family of She Who Rules The Sky.

Yachiru is Her first grandchild.

Oh, certainly, She has laid and raised many, many generations of Eagle, but per tradition and common sense, they move far, far away from Her before having their own offspring to avoid competing with Her, and their children do the same. But Kenpachi comes to visit his Mother and sisters- a strange thing, but he's not eating the same food or trying to build a nest in the same place, so it works.

She Who Rules The Sky is DELIGHTED by Her Granddaughter, and spoils Yachiru rotten with attention and fresh kills and embarrassing stories about her father when he was young.

At least some of the way Yachiru hangs off Kenpachi's back is based on how he learned how to hang onto his Mother during Flying lessons, and how her grandmother taught her to do the same, but hanging onto Her neck, on account of how small Yachiru is.

She Who Rules The Sky and both Yachiru's Aunts are all very concerned about how small she is. Her appetite is certainly healthy enough, but she grows so slowly. Zaraki's assurances that there are Human Women he works with that are full-grown adults scarcely half again Yachiru's size does nothing to avail their fears, and makes Rukia sneeze.

Zaraki's sisters have not taken Names either, but for the sake of convenience, they allow Yachiru to call them Ane-Oba and Imuto-Oba, as Kenpachi is the middle sibling, according to order of appearance in the nest.

Eagle kinship terminology is different than human in that only the siblings from the same clutch are your brothers or sisters, and who is the older or younger is determined by the hatching order rather than laying order. Your mother's previous clutches are your aunts and uncles, and your mother's clutch-mates are also your aunts and uncles, but with a higher level of grammatical deference. "Grandparent" is an entirely novel concept to Eagles, who almost never meet theirs, and hearing how active grandmothers are in the raising of their grandchildren fascinates She Who Rules The Sky.

Consequently, Kenpachi isn't a Prince because he's an Eagle.

He's a Prince because She Who Rules The Sky is a straight-up Kami, and a big damn deal, because She has jurisdiction over EVERYTHING in the sky- Other birds, Weather, Shinigami if they go higher than the roof of the tallest building in a square mile, the fucking moon (technically), Bats (but only when they come out at night. What they do in caves is none of Her business and also She doesn't want to think about it.), and anything some idiot might try shooting at Her.

"Prince" isn't quite accurate- it's not an inherited title, but She Who Rules The Sky told Kenpachi after he became a captain to Officially Manage whatever Humans and Shinigami were doing in the sky for Her, on account of being closer and having at least one eye to keep on them.

So technically he's a Nepo Unpaid Intern, but a Nepo Unpaid Intern that could smote anybody right out of the air, so most birds and lesser Kami use the more respectful title of "Prince" instead.

He does not use this ability often, because he'd rather try to get someone to fight him, but he does not hold back with it where mosquitoes are concerned.

It's cromulent to Eagles that he should inherit the responsibility though, because it's usually the youngest clutch that inherit a nest site or hunting territory upon the demise of a parent, and while She shows no signs of dying any time soon, it's the way of Kami to train and hand off lesser responsibilities to their children as their domains expand.

Hence, Yachiru is not a Princess in the sense that she has a title to inherit, but she is one in that Kenpachi trusts everything she tells him and defers to her on things like "math" and "where the fuck are we going?" because she's better at those than he is, and in that sense, she is his Princess.

AiPuri initial Livestream thoughts

Looks like a copro with OLM perhaps best known as the Pokemon studio.

At first glance I don't really find the character/art design that impressive. And the CG shown in the trailer . . . Yeah I could tell immediately this was not an Otudane job . . . Sorry

Seems like it's becoming standard practice in the Pretty Series to introduce new anime with focus on two charas in the beginning. This time the classic pink/blue duo. Interestingly there seems to be no hint at all towards the mystery girl in yellow in the initial trailer. There's always gotta be one in any given PS show.

I'm unfamiliar with the voice actresses which is good news for me. I like when the Pretty Series gets some fresh voices. Though for a second I thought the pink one (I'll learn ur names later promise) was voiced by Himitasu I swear sounded just like Laala in some parts.

The arcade game looks fun to play! (Breathes quick sigh of relief it's not a mobage . . . Yet) Moving those cards around . . . You're making them scratch resistant right? Right? *Insert Anakin/padme meme* seems like a bit of a risk arcade rhythm game wise. I'd be interested if there's any other games with a similar concept.

And it looks like MyChara creation and the friend ticket equivalent is a separate cabinet? There's a bit of gameplay involved too it looks like. I'll wait for other people with more JP knowledge than me to give the sitch on that.

In the anime my eye was immediately drawn to the bracelet. I love the design. The toys are giving me 90s magical girl toys vibes which I love. If I had the money . . . Seems they're focusing on makeup as part of the idol persona.

Well I'm gonna sleep on this now. I'll save looking up info on the VAs and production team for tomorrow.

I feel like my most controversial video game opinion that's about something mainstream enough for people to actually give a shit about is that the Final Fantasy 7 Remake trilogy or whatever being different or even so different from the original is good and that more remakes should aspire to be fresh takes and new ideas on the old or whatever instead of carbon clone copies now in ultra HD where every model now has ray tracing and 16 trillion terashits of polygons or whatever. Like they're still going to make it the latter stuff, but it's cool when the stories are actually new and fresh on top of that instead of hinging on the concept I disagree with where anything with beefed up tech will automatically be superior to the original when everything else is a 1:1 translation which is just an artistically dull and boring worldview and approach. I'm actually looking to where parts 2 and 3 are going while people have been memeing and bitching about it not being the original and claiming they're making it Kingdom Hearts or something. It's why I think Persona 3 Reloaded also having a new story approach is also good and am actually looking forward to it.

Ok so here I’ll just list off some of my interests so you can get to know me better. Ghosts have interests too!

Listening to music (I am a fan of Metal/Rock (Metallica, Pantera, Ghost, etc.) music, as well as Synth. I do also listen to OSTs of my favorite series. A band I recommend checking out is ‘Dance with the Dead’, they are an indie band and mainly do horror synth and synthmetal. (Well, then again, I like any music that sounds nice or is spooky so)

As I said before, I’ll be posting drawings of OCs, mainly from the webcomic series I’m working on titled ‘Shadow Realm’. I do have other original series and ideas as well, so here’s a little info…

Shadow Realm

Shadow Realm is a 4-part action horror urban fantasy series starring Sophia Alvarado, a Cuban teenage girl who lives in Miami who one day ends up in a different and strange world from our own, and ends up encountering ghosts and gaining powers of electricity. With her occult and coffee-obsessed friend Violet Bellerose and a friendly ghost she meets on the other side dubbed Shady, they encounter different ghosts and supernatural occurrences all across Miami. There’s a lot more to it, but that’s the basic gist of it for now. (It gets very complicated from part 2 onward…)

Kendall Convenience

A small game project that has the player take the role of one Katrina Diaz, a convenience store worker in Miami who works the graveyard shift. This takes place in the same universe as Shadow Realm.

Mystères de Lenoir

Mysteres de Lenoir is a series that follows the protagonist, Stella Auclair, a fresh detective who takes place in steampunk and gothic France during the Belle Époque era. Stella works with André Dupin, at the Dupin Detective Agency, and they solve a series of mysteries, most of which are murder cases.

I have two other series, but those are a secret for now… I will say though that one of them is a western, and the other is a single volume (One-Shot) comic.

Harrow the Ninth

Honestly, even the cover is enough to give me feels. She looks so little, so vulnerable on it, despite the power stance and the face paint. Her face looks like she's grieving and furiously trying to go on, regardless. Am I projecting?

Let's get into it, then.

A fresh Dramatis Personae; this one has people crossed out, which is already unsettling. Oh, it's the cavaliers who are crossed out. Presumably, for the obvious reason. And the Lyctors including Cytherea, who, presumably, died.

Oh, and here's Ianthe, and Harrow. With Gideon's name scribbled out much more ferociously than the others.

Prologue

Oh, we love a second person narrator. If I hadn't already been told that Tamsyn Muir is a Homestuck fan, this would have definitely clued me in. How delightful! I have no idea what's going on. That's fine.

Oh, the "you" is Harrow? In the Prologue? The Prologue titled Emperor's Death???? This bodes. Uh. I'm scared.

Even the Emperor cautions Harrow to not be in such a hurry to die. I'm. I'm scared.

Ianthe is trying to protect Harrow? I barely know her, and this seems out of character. Narrows eyes.

“You always did think obstinacy the cardinal virtue,”

... Can't argue with that.

“Well, I tried, and therefore no one should criticize me,”

This along with "Choke me, Daddy" has me wondering if Ianthe is such a fan favourite because she speaks in memes.

Hell spat you back out. Fair enough.

I still don't know what's going on. (That's still okay.) The Heralds of the Resurrection Beast seem to be insects, or at least function similarly to them - trying to kill whatever Harrow's in (spaceship?) and all life in it - by overheating. Like bees with hive invaders.

I have hope that even though the narrative seems hell bent on letting Harrow die here - that she won't, that the sounds of swords mean imminent rescue. Though I won't hold out too much hope.

The next chapter is a timeskip to the past - so I can't be sure at all. We will see.

Gravity Falls 10th Anniversary List O’ Favorite Things:

1. Favorite Character:

I started watching shortly after NWHS aired (with no knowledge of the emotions train that would hit when I got to that episode) because I’d seen a few people talking about how funny, cute, and smart Gravity Falls was and instantly liked the girl who made a light-up sweater. Instead of marathoning it, I saved it to watch an episode every so often as a fun pick-me-up for after watching more dramatic/sad/emotional things and eventually caught up right around when ATOTS aired.

Then this happened:

And Ford became my favorite and the show became a hyperfixation. This nerd who survived thirty years of what drove Fiddleford to erase his memory from a few seconds of exposure and who wrote things like Trust No One, who shoots first and asks questions later, and who is so full of trauma just... Played happily along with Giggle Time Bouncy Boots. He was still so passionate for the things he loved, still ready to be silly, just wanted to have a friend because he’d felt alone for so long, and was still trying to do good for the world despite everything. He had his flaws and misconceptions but ultimately, this nerd was doing the best he could with what he had.

Also, I’ve written about this before but it meant a lot, personally, to see his character type allowed to be one of the heroes where most media would villainize someone like him.

We get to see the family work together, Weird Al is there, Grenda gets to weaponize an armchair, and we get to see who Ford is now, not from the past, not from the journal, and not fresh out of the nightmare realm. Bonus points for Stan apologizing to Dipper for making fun of him. I feel like that was a huge character growth moment for him and more reason to love his character too.

6. Funniest Joke:

Oh man. I’m not sure what to pick here. There’s the classic ones that became memes, of course, but there are also things like Dipper’s internet history and Mabel and the leaf blower. 

Hmm. I’m going to go with basically the entire premise of this:

Getting bored while falling in the bottomless pit.

It’s personally hilarious because on a trip in 2010, a few friends and I saw a well on the top of a mountain and wondered how deep that would have to be if there wasn’t a spring or something. That led to the idea of “at what point do you stop screaming and get hungry or bored or need to sleep when falling into a bottomless pit.” So this episode was basically our thoughts on it.

7. Favorite Game/Book/Merch:

Oof another tough one because, while Journal 3 is probably my favorite, I want to give a shout out to:

I love that it gave us more stories. We got more Pacifica development, creepy faceless Mabel, a post-Weirdmageddon Stan and Ford adventure with bonus Mabel in the multiverse, a smol Stans adventure, and *gestures to all of Comix Up. I mean, how could you not love some Dipper and Pacifica bonding, Stan finding out that Ford is an interdimensional criminal, Baby Stan and Ford bonding, and almost the entire cast hilariously stuck in anime schoolgirl uniforms and thrown into various other comic book personas.

9. Favorite Quote:

The sentiment is applicable to so many things. It’s not about being good or perfect, it’s about throwing expectations and self-consciousness out the window to have honest fun with the people you love.

10. A Special Memory or Moment About Gravity Falls:

Meeting so many incredible people through the fandom; People I’m friends offline with now and who I still chat with about life. It’s been one of the best experiences of my life getting to talk to so many awesome people, see your creative content, and to create my own (This show made me start drawing again and I’ve gotten hundreds of thousands of words in writing practice thanks to writing fics! Plus cosplaying and getting to meet other cosplayers! So much fun!). Thank you to everyone who helped make this show possible!

You know, as much as I can agree that the influx of modern memes and such is a little tiresome in post canon HS, I do have a more constructive solution for people annoyed by it than the usual complaining or jumping ship.

Look for or create more carapace stuff.

I mean its perfect, they don't know what the fuck a meme is. They don't speak directly, so you can't just copy paste whole quotes. Their humor is more on visual gags, slapstick, narration, and other more general stuff. And the last time a meme was injected into a carapacian thing, it was fucking awful (looking at you DD&D4)! It'd be a breath of fresh air, and it'd help space out the pop culture stuff for when you go back to the main cast!

But we both know most of you are not going to do that, cause much like people who complain about Persona and other anime style rpgs, you're just going to keep playing them when Ichiban and his band of middle aged misfits are right there. Yes I know this sounds rather incomprehensible-

rguh guh RU RUGHRU!!! I HAVE !! I AHVE i have.. i hvae some... I will start with my Skele OCs then under the cut go to my non UTMV ocs :) Zemuf; Zemuf was originally a vent sona. He didnt have a head because at the time i didnt want to give him one, i was very distant with the community and i was just kinda.. Scared to be back. A artist in the community traumatized me heavily, so i didnt want Zemuf to have a face. Well, overtime i just decided to give him one, and i just kinda fell inlove with him after!! Zemuf canonly does have a BF named Orca, but there is like.. 2? other non-canon crack ships, one is Zemuf x Skele Rot(another OC of mine), then one which was the original ship was Zemuf x Geno (sometimes + Reaper ), this was bc of a ask a anon made that Geno and Zemuf would be good friends xD Imp, Aka Mailboy; Imp was one of my first few new UTMV ocs i made! He is kinda chocolate themed, and is the UTMV Mailboy, he delivers letters to every AU out there!! He is seemingly dating a certain funky fresh boi owned by my brother 👀 Trick is another OC of mine.. But he doesnt have a ref yet :( It also reminds me of a dump of OCs i did once; they were a bunch of skele babies and i gotta find them since they contain a ref of another OC of mine named King who i miss D:

Cinder(fursona)- Cinder is one of my characters that i just really really fucking love. His backstory is that he was sacrificed into a volcano to the god within, but the God gave Cinder a offer to relive as a form of immortal to take care of the place he would be located into. The plot twist is that Icy too is a form of immortal being, these beings are called Champions, Icy being one of the first ones after he left the school, but Cinder remained for abit, and when he got out Icy was retiring/retired, after Cinder became the new top Champion, he became Icy's guardian basically, which got them closer! Cinder has any power regarding Volcanos, which is alot, like Fire, Magma, Smoke, Explosions even, and in those rare cases of lightening coming from the Volcano's smoke :) Now we get into the stages of OCs of mine that i just wanna talk about/bring up because i just adore them

Rot; Rot is a albino shark, he is mostly white and pink and was one of my favorite characters i have adopted thus far. He is my PFP actually!! He has slim to no lore other then when he was young his fins were taken to make Shark fin Soup, aka my last ditch effort reasoning to why he only has 2 shark fins HAHA Wish; Wish was a custom i got by a designer i adore, he was in my 3008 animation meme, i love him and if Gutsy wasnt my everything (sona, persona, whatever ) i can def see him or Rot taking that place :) Spiggy; Spiggy is a spider boi of mine, though he looks nothing like one so i love that abt him!! Under Bolsonaro, political attacks gain institutional legitimacy in Brazil

In July 2020, Meta (then Facebook) announced the takedown of a network of profiles, pages and groups connected to Brazilian president Jair Bolsonaro and the party under which he was elected in 2018, the right-wing Social Liberal Party (PSL).

According to the big tech company, this network of 33 Facebook accounts, 14 Pages, one group and 37 Instagram accounts entailed duplicate and fake accounts used to “evade enforcement, create fictitious personas posing as reporters, post content, and manage Pages masquerading as news outlets.”

The content published by this network revolved around “local news and events including domestic politics and elections, political memes, criticism of the political opposition, media organizations and journalists,” and news about the coronavirus pandemic. Some of the content published by these actors had already been removed due to violation of the FB Community Standards, particularly in relation to hate speech.

This wasn't just any network. Meta's investigation identified links to party figures and to employees of the offices of President Jair Bolsonaro and his sons, Federal Deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro and Senator Flavio Bolsonaro. In other words, this complex and violating network identified by Meta was being operated from within the offices of elected officials — including the country's highest-ranking politician: the president.

Nearly the whole family is involved: Carlos Bolsonaro, a councilman in Rio de Janeiro, is seen as the mastermind behind Bolsonaro's social media strategy and believed to be the commander-in-chief of a complex operation of attacks and smear campaigns.

Although Meta removed this network, the damage had been done. The confirmation that public servants produced these attacks against critics and democratic institutions — in what the Atlantic Council's DFRLab, which investigated the network at FB's request, considered a potential misuse of public funds — points to a scenario of institutionalized political attacks.

On one hand, police and Supreme Court investigations suggest the existence of an elaborate network producing social media attacks against political rivals and democratic institutions who exercise their role in containing authoritarian abuses. On the other hand, such an infrastructure is no longer necessary because supporters feel encouraged and authorized to engage in attacks without any command structure.

A fresh report published by Agência Pública on the eve of elections revealed that this election had at least 75 episodes of electoral violence, including two casualties and eight incidents with firearms.

Is there anything you’d really like to share about Amethyst? :D

Ok I have a lot to say, backstory and not backstory related.  she recently was redesigned! I’m still working on an updated ref lol.

She’s in a lot of animation memes on my YouTube, which I’ll link. Some of them have backstory in the video or description!

There’s this undertale comic called Roleswap and it has a weird canon status. I have no idea what to do with it honestly, but I like some of the characters and it was fun. I’m mostly doing that one for fun rn and there isn’t really plans for content. Link here.

I did create a fresh!amethyst design, and asks are open for her, but it’s not 100% canon. I just did it for fun and because I wanted to make a fresh!amethyst.  Also I like that she’s a girl skeleton who isn’t like excessively feminine ? Like much too many creators fall in the trap of feeling like they have to give female skeletons like hair or eyelashes, but I didn’t do that and that makes me happy. I don’t mean this in the mean spirited way, I just don’t think it’s fair y’know. 

Ok so I’m just going to paste the backstory explanation now lol

This is Amethyst. She’s my persona.

She’s a kind caring person who will go to far lengths for her friends. In her past she was killed and revived as a skeleton by a scientist guy. (Named Dr. Mahir Riddle) 

He forces her to kill another person (Ian) to continue testing these revival tactics on. But it’s all made up now ;) [it’s not ]

She likes drawing, hanging out with her roommates, and ignoring acknowledging her bad history with Ian (lol)

She hates medical stuff and fears needles/ also being alone in the dark.

Amethyst tries to pretend like she’s perfectly content with her new body and whenever the topic is brought up, she quickly changes the subject.

Ian still blames her a little for his death, but he’d never admit it. 

After escaping the lab of Dr. Riddle, they call the police and then happen to run (literally) into Roxie and Clover. The two of them are nice enough to allow Ian and Amethyst to stay the night, and they’ve roommates since! The first few nights Ian slept cautiously out on the couch close to the door, but he’s since got his own bedroom.

Everyone has color-coded doors based on their “main” color (basically the color of their shirt [or banana in Clover’s case])

I also like to color code most of their personal items, like cell phones, toothbrushes, everything basically. (I enjoy color coded ocs as you can tell).
