there's something deeply ironic about Vi insisting Silco can't be negotiated with at the council meeting leading to the factory raid, and meanwhile Silco negotiates at first opportunity, as soon as Jayce offers; says a lot about her mindset

So I had this idea of Connor meeting adéwale who gets a sense of deja vu but can’t pinpoint from whereand the two of them teaming up to find the son of adewale’s friend and Connor’s father both not realizing that they are looking for the same person until they have a run in with haytham and adewale having a lot of things of Connor suddenly make sense with the reveal
So this would be a bit hard considering Shay killed Adéwalé while Ratonhnhaké:ton was just a kid but we can fudge it a bit. They did talk a bit after Shay struck him down so we can make this a case of “he almost died but he didn’t”.
Let’s say one of Adéwalé’s crewmembers survived and found him, dragging him out of danger and helping him survive.
During that time, Adéwalé dreams of Edward Kenway, of the past they shared, the letters they sent to one another…
When he wakes up, months have passed and he was still too weak that he could barely walk.
He had been transported to Port-au-Prince and being taken care of by his son, Babatunde Josèphe. His son tells him to rest and that they’re trying to get in contact with the Colonial Assassins but with no luck. Messengers either return empty handed, talking about the danger and the heightened Templar presence, or they do not return at all.
The Templars had the colonies under their control and it was becoming too dangerous to try and infiltrate the colonies while Shay Cormac, the Assassin Hunter, is on the hunt.
Adéwalé can’t do anything but try to heal his weak body, his mind dwelling deeper and deeper into the darkness the more news they hear about what had happened to the Assassins in the colonies.
The Assassins Adéwalé knew.
By the time he was strong enough, the damage had been done and the Brotherhood were too busy in France and Britain. Their letters asking Achilles if he needed help only being met with silence.
But Adéwalé knew he needed to go back there.
No.
He needed to see Haytham Kenway.
And kill him.
Even if it was the last thing he did.
Haytham Kenway had destroyed what the Kenway stand for, what Edward had worked so hard to create.
As Edward’s friend…
As his only remaining friend…
It was Adéwalé’s duty to destroy the last remaining Kenway before more damage could be done.
His son tells him he was projecting his guilt and anger to someone else.
His grandson did not understand why he was leaving.
Adéwalé was part of the past and he was dragging Haytham Kenway with him if it was the last thing he would do.
So he returns to the colonies and meets up with Achilles.
That’s when he meets up with the young man learning under Achilles.
Ratonhnhaké:ton.
There was something about him that reminded Adéwalé of Edward Kenway…
So he took Ratonhnhaké:ton under his wings as well and Achilles didn’t say anything. Ratonhnhaké:ton never told Adéwalé about his father by name because Achilles had told him months before Adéwalé had returned that he should keep it a secret.
Being known as Haytham Kenway’s son would only put him in danger.
So Ratonhnhaké:ton kept quiet.
And they formed a bond with Adéwalé assisting him.
Where Achilles pushed for caution, Adéwalé supported any way he can.
Ratonhnhaké:ton was free, like Edward. It would only serve to push him away if they try to chain him down.
The best way to support Ratonhnhaké:ton was to help him.
And then…
That faithful winter day…
In an abandoned church…
Ratonhnhaké:ton and Adéwalé come face to face with the man they were both searching for.

The Shape of Truth - Chapter 4: All Sworded Out
Masterpost
-
‘ACCESS DENIED’ flashed on the lock readout.
“Try it upside down?” Nimona suggested.
ACCESS DENIED.
Ambrosius narrowed his eyes at the ID card reader. He was a knight now - shouldn’t that let him into the archives? Maybe the systems hadn’t been updated yet…
“Hey, you’re not allowed back here!” the voice of an archives worker made Ambrosius jump, “This is a high-security area. You need special clearance to be here.”
“I’m a knight. Isn’t that clearance enough?”
“Not for there.” The worker jerked his head towards the locked door. “If you want to retrieve something, you can fill out a request form with the receptionist.”
Ambrosius grimaced as the worker shooed them from the room. Not more paperwork…
The pink, dog-shaped hallucination by Ambrosius’s side spoke up as soon as they were out of earshot.
“Go wait for me outdoors - I’ll look around back for any windows.” she said with a wink before trotting off around the corner.
Ambrosius wondered what she’d say if she returned - since she was a figment of his imagination, she couldn’t know anything he didn’t, windows included. He glanced back at the room he’d come from. What was he doing anyway? Sneaking into the archives was a bad idea. He could ‘dig’, as Nimona had put it, another way. And he could figure out that other way over breakfast at the tea shop across the street.
~ ~ ~
Ambrosius tried to ignore the judging glances from the other patrons when he entered the shop. No doubt his appearance at the execution yesterday had made the news. He knew he’d hear it from The Director when he went in for work tomorrow - stuff about ‘damage control’ and ‘keeping an appearance worthy of the Goldenloin lineage’, yadda yadda. It was stifling.
He scanned the tea shop menu. Ballister had always ordered the same thing whenever they’d come here; earl gray with milk (not creamer) and sugar. Nobody else Ambrosius knew used milk - his mom had liked it that way and gotten Ballister hooked on it the first time he’d visited. Ambrosius had thought Bal was just humoring her at first, but he’d continued to order it after she’d died. Now there was nobody left to order it...
Ambrosius ordered the earl grey with milk and sugar. He may as well have ordered nothing; once he got it, he couldn’t bring himself to drink it. All he could think about were the two people who used to order this very thing, both dead and gone. The last time he’d seen either of them had been distressing - his mom sick in bed with her hair shorn off, Ballister being dragged away after shooting the queen…
Eventually, Ambrosius reached into his pocket and pulled out a paper packet the size of his fist. ‘Bal’ had been written on it in ink - the only label he could think to give the handful of ash. He held it in his hands. He and Ballister had been inseparable since childhood - even now, Ambrosius couldn’t leave him behind to sit on a nightstand.
His thoughts were interrupted by a woman in a lab coat sitting down opposite him.
“I got it.” She grinned at him. She had Nimona’s voice.
Ambrosius shoved the ash packet back into his pocket, curious about this new form.
“Got what?”
Nimona held up a matching ID badge. “I’m the archives manager! I’ll just walk you in - the real manager’s out and won’t notice her badge is gone for at least an hour.”
It would have been a good plan if Nimona had been real, Ambrosius thought. Just then, a man in a matching lab coat walked up to the table.
“Oh, Priyanka, I thought you were in your office.”
Ambrosius blinked in surprise. He looked up at the man.
“What did you call me?”
“Not you.” The man looked at Nimona. “I could have picked up your order for you.”
Ambrosius’s jaw fell open.
“You can see her too?!”
The man gave Ambrosius a confused look.
Nimona spoke up. “I’ll let you know next time.” she said in what Ambrosius guessed was the manager’s voice.
Ambrosius’s head was spinning so hard, he didn’t notice the man leave. He reached across the table and prodded manager-Nimona’s shoulder.
“You’re real?”
“What, did you think you were imagining things?” Nimona snorted, back in her original voice. “Hooo boy, that explains so much.”
“This doesn’t make sense - you were a girl, then a dog, then—”
“Don’t forget the cat. You gonna drink that?” she pointed at the tea.
When Ambrosius didn’t answer, Nimona popped off the lid and guzzled it down.
“Hoo yeah, good combo. Anyway, you coming?”
“You… what are you?”
“I’m Nimona.”
“But you—”
“Listen, we can sit here talking, or we can get into the archives before the real manager gets back. Are you coming or not?”
Alarm bells were going off in Ambrosius’s head. Nimona was Wrong. He’d never heard of anyone in the kingdom able to change form at will. Where had she come from? From outside the wall? Impossible. Nobody could live out there because of the monsters - huge, hulking creatures with ravenous hunger - and the wall hadn’t been breached for as long as it’d stood. By all logic, Nimona shouldn’t exist. And yet here she was, offering him a chance to get some closure about about the man he’d loved. That couldn’t be wrong… could it?
~ ~ ~
Sure enough, Nimona was able to waltz right into the high-security archives with Ambrosius in tow. Ambrosius tried to play it cool as best he could, but guilt and anxiety pounded in his head. This was a security violation. A necessary one, he told himself - he was doing this for the good of the kingdom. If Bal had been telling the truth, then there was still a murderer on the loose. He couldn’t let that happen, right? And it wasn’t like he could have stopped Nimona from breaking in if she’d wanted to. He was just taking advantage of the situation.
The vault was bigger than he’d expected - rows upon rows of tall shelving units and cabinets labeled from ‘A’ to ‘Z’. There were several windows in one wall letting light in, all of them close to the ceiling and looking securely locked. Otherwise the only source of light was the old buzzing lamps above.
The sword was in a drawer in the B section, under ‘Boldheart’. The charred pieces were laid out on white felt, easy to see even in the flickering lights. Ambrosius carefully picked up a piece of the hilt, remembering the clang it had made when he’d knocked it from Ballister’s hand. He could remember it clearly now, the way the sword had fallen to the ground, shattering into pieces. The way Ballister had looked at him in shock - not the eyes of a murderer, but the eyes of a man horrified.
“Anything jumping out at you?” Nimona interrupted the flashback. She was back in her original form - the punk teenager one.
Ambrosius set the piece down, trying to calm his anxiety jitters.
“Honestly? I don’t even know what we’re looking for.”
Nimona looked down into the drawer.
“Well by the looks of it, it wasn’t a real sword in the first place. Someone took a sword-shaped shell and stuffed a blaster inside.”
That’s what the official write-up had said too. The write-up hadn’t mentioned how realistic the shell had been. The lengths the maker had gone to make it look like the original was phenomenal. Despite it's broken state, Ambrosius could see everything, right down to the scratches on the pommel, had been duplicated perfectly. The only difference was that the replica was hollow inside.
“There’s no way this was a store-bought prop,” he mused, “It had to have been commissioned from a workshop or something.” That didnt sit right. Where would Bal have gotten the money to pay for it?
“So we are looking for a third party here.” Nimona said gleefully. “A whole workshop of people trying to overthrow the monarchy…”
“Unless they didn’t know what the sword was for. With that many people, someone would have gotten caught by now.” Probably.
“So if they didn’t know when they made it… maybe there’s a maker’s mark or something somewhere?”
It was as good a hunch as any. Ambrosius pulled out his phone and switched on its flashlight. He shone the light on the drawer as Nimona examined the pieces one by one.
“They really did a good job collecting all the pieces.” She muttered. “There’s almost too many to- HEY!” She held up a piece triumphantly - a chunk of the base of the blade. Sure enough, there was a tiny logo stamped into the metal - a crossed hammer and sword. It was just small and faint enough to be missed if you weren’t looking for it.
Nimona held the piece under the flashlight.
“Look familiar at all?”
Ambrosius had no idea. He did a search on his phone for logos matching the description… Bingo.
“‘Arms & Hammer’ - it’s a workshop in the shopping district. By the looks of it… custom swords are their specialty.”
“That’ll be a lot of orders to sort through.” Nimona huffed, “But if we find out who commissioned it, we find the perp.”
Ambrosius was still mulling over the question of who could have paid for the sword. Someone with money had to be behind the assassination. Or maybe several middle-class people. Suddenly, Bal being innocent like he’d claimed seemed less far-fetched.
Ambrosius was about to mention it when the sound of a door banging open echoed through the vault.
“I could have sworn it was you!” the voice of an archive worker resonated off the walls. “She had your ID and everything!”
“Well it wasn’t me.” said the voice of the real manager. “And whatever prankster it was is in a world of trouble.”

there is quite a few fics focusing on sanji’s fear of becoming emotionless like his brothers, but not enough focus on the good old body horror… in wano he said that his body “felt off” even before his exoskeleton even fully activated
having a body that FEELS and SOUNDS different than it did all your life?! a body that doesn’t process pain (and possibly other sensations) the way it used to?! just the sheer horror of not knowing what else was done to your body without your knowledge before you were even born, with changes that could be set off at any moment? feeling like his body isn’t his own anymore because of those changes, like it belongs to Judge, after finally being able to free himself just a little while ago on wci
so much angsty potential (and by extension Hurt/Comfort potential cause i love angst but i need my comfort resolution after)
all that said, here’s an ongoing fic i am reading where i really love how they are portraying that aspect (mind the tags, it gets heavy (as you would expect considering the subject matter))

Soap's Da had a saying, "There's two types of snake keepers, those that have been bitten and those that are lying bastards". And John "Soap" MacTavish is many things but a liar isn't one of them... Unless you count making any and every possible excuse to avoid letting Ghost into his room. But does that really count?
A liar he is not but stupid he definitely may be. Intellectually he knows that Wee Man is getting big enough that he shouldn't be free handling him without a spotter, it'd been one of the first things his parents had drilled into his head before he was allowed to even think about getting out the bigger snakes. and intellectually of course he realizes that he probably ought to have a spotter for feeding time too. But Wee Man is so sweet and really he's not that big. So now he's here, with a 7 1/2 foot python latched onto his arm and the stupid fucking rat dangling from the stupid fucking tongs, thankfully it's a frozen thawed otherwise it'd be even more of a shit show.
He's next to certain the snake nicked a vein or something with the amount of blood starting to pool on his cement floor. Fuck.
His head is starting to get a wee bit fuzzy and the arm Wee Man has is well past pins and needles when he remembers what he needs to do, and realizes that he's just been standing there bleeding out like a clueless bawbag. He grabs the handle of Vodka he keeps for any number of emergencies and quickly splashes some over the snake's head, cursing none to quietly at the burn in his punctures. Wee Man drops his wrist like he's been burned, tearing back with as much of a confused expression as a snake can make. Soap tosses the rat into the python's cage and fumbles for a minute before he manages to work his arm free of the slackening coils, pushing Wee Man in after it. Slamming the door near hard enough to shatter it he's left standing in the tiny walkway he's left for himself: tongs in one hand, vodka in the other; blood dripping from his wrist, and a brain fuzzy enough to make into a down comforter.
The rational part of his brain would have him check into medical with a convenient fib, but blood loss does silly things to a man, like making him laugh at terrible jokes and flirt shamelessly with his stunning superior officer.
"Johnny?" Wide brown eyes peer down at him through a crooked balaclava.
So it really isn't much of a surprise when he finds himself swaying in front of Ghost's door, clutching his wrist as he leaves a trail of crimson splotches down the hallway. He's trying to wrap his brain around the concept of knocking when the door in front of him eases open.
"Allo Lt, lovely night we're having. Could ah ask ye a favor?"

Riddle Rosehearts (Frankenstein monster!Riddle x apprentice!Yuu)
genre: horror, angst
note: mentions of d*ath, mentions of heavy medical crimes and illegal harvesting,
summary: He was a monstrosity. A freak of nature and you fear the man before you, even if he was someone you once loved.
series index
Tumblr media
It was a one-in-a-million chance for this to be a success. He was called a medical miracle who survived through incredible odds.
The son of the renowned Rosehearts couple was caught in a deadly accident, leaving him with non-functional organs and severely damaged nerves. First responders were sure he would be dead by the time he reached his family’s private hospital. But, Mrs. Rosehearts announced that her son was alive and breathing. He made it.
…Supposed something made it.
“My love,” the redhead lovingly caressed your hands as you sat by his private room, as per his request. You fought the urge to vomit as you saw his stitches on his arms that pull the skin together. “Thank you for visiting me. You must have been busy”
Typically you would be, being the apprentice to Riddle’s mother in hopes to gain experience in the medical field. It was how you met Riddle and you two began a relationship without his mother’s knowledge.
“Of course, I would” you forced a smile to which the boy laying in bed responded with his own, his grey eyes crinkled along his smile which stretched the scarring across his face.
How you wish to believe this was your Riddle. Despite the burns and scars, he looked exactly like your beloved and he maintained the memories of your time together. But your mind was sending alarms in you, telling you to wake up from your delusions. He was not your lover, but a monster.
A monster you had a hand in making as you listened to your mentor’s commands to sneak into the morgue at night. You were driven by love and guilt to save Riddle no matter the cost. Afterall, he protected you during that fateful day which led to his condition now. So despite your oath, you helped Riddle’s mother in retrieving organs to replace the ones that her son was missing.
Heart, blood, lungs, skin, eyes. You discarded your own morality to desecrate your former patients in hopes to revive your beloved. His death, be damned.
You were as desperate as they were, but even Riddle’s parents could see your wavering resolve and threatened to destroy you should you tell anyone of the crime committed in their hospital. To them, you were just a scared apprentice not willing to go against the Rosehearts family, unaware of your own hidden motives to save their son.
“We just need to find more skin to hide the scars, and he’ll be perfect just like before” your mother whispered to you as she eyed the patients that came into the hospital that day, finding the right “benefactor”. You tried your best to help those who came to the Rosehearts hospital, looking to be saved. But now, they are donors, whether they realize it or not.
But, the Rosehearts were right. You were weak and your weakness was tearing you apart with every moment you spent with Riddle in his room. Your guilt ate away at you whenever he pulled you into a hug, where you can hear his heartbeat from the heart you stole. One of his eyes was from a young patient who recently passed. You remembered how that same patient laughed with you when you mentioned how her eyes remind you of your lover. Instead of grief, you gave half-hearted condolences to the family while planning your visit to the coroner’s office to falsify records of her autopsy.
“Love!” Riddle called out to you, bringing you out from your spiraling thoughts. “Why are you crying?”
The revived man reached out to wipe your cheeks, where you finally registered the wetness of your face and your stinging eyes. Weeks of dissociating yourself from reality has finally worked against you as you physically reached your limit. His hands felt different from what you’re used to. You recognized the skin of his hands as the same you scalped from one of your visits to the cold morgue.
Tears continued to fall as you broke down in your seat, as the panicked redhead tried to console his lover, oblivious to the atrocities done by you and his parents, the very people whom he trusts with his life.
He became a monster, and so did you.

AiPuri initial Livestream thoughts
*written at 2am to the best of my coherency I cannot be held accountable for any mistakes on spelling or information
Looks like a copro with OLM perhaps best known as the Pokemon studio.
At first glance I don't really find the character/art design that impressive. And the CG shown in the trailer . . . Yeah I could tell immediately this was not an Otudane job . . . Sorry
Tumblr media
Seems like it's becoming standard practice in the Pretty Series to introduce new anime with focus on two charas in the beginning. This time the classic pink/blue duo. Interestingly there seems to be no hint at all towards the mystery girl in yellow in the initial trailer. There's always gotta be one in any given PS show.
I'm unfamiliar with the voice actresses which is good news for me. I like when the Pretty Series gets some fresh voices. Though for a second I thought the pink one (I'll learn ur names later promise) was voiced by Himitasu I swear sounded just like Laala in some parts.
The arcade game looks fun to play! (Breathes quick sigh of relief it's not a mobage . . . Yet) Moving those cards around . . . You're making them scratch resistant right? Right? *Insert Anakin/padme meme* seems like a bit of a risk arcade rhythm game wise. I'd be interested if there's any other games with a similar concept.
And it looks like MyChara creation and the friend ticket equivalent is a separate cabinet? There's a bit of gameplay involved too it looks like. I'll wait for other people with more JP knowledge than me to give the sitch on that.
Tumblr media
In the anime my eye was immediately drawn to the bracelet. I love the design. The toys are giving me 90s magical girl toys vibes which I love. If I had the money . . . Seems they're focusing on makeup as part of the idol persona.
Well I'm gonna sleep on this now. I'll save looking up info on the VAs and production team for tomorrow.

Weird compound idea. So I was thinking about how there’s so many animal Desmonds they could fill a zoo. And then I had the thought: Desmond Zoo! Some Isu got Desmond’s DNA and replicated him in animal form like fifty times over and made a zoo. Until one day, one slip up, one tiny mishap, one minuscule mistake leads to a Desmond outbreak!
Okay but what if all the animal Desmond were from the same ‘in between’. Not just the animal Desmonds but the creature Desmonds as well.
They’re all kept in suspended animation, in a facility that exist nowhere and everywhere at the same time, its existence forever weaving through the countless calculations all around it.
And in this facility, there lies only one caretaker.
But then…
Someone infiltrated the facility.
It is currently unknown if the plan had been to steal a specific Desmond or something else but the caretaker manages to find the infiltrator before they could do anything.
But in the chase that happened afterwards…
The lock placed upon all of the Desmonds was unlocked.
And the stability of the facility broke.
The Desmonds were thrown into different timelines within the Calculations where they would wake up without any memories of how they got there.
And now…
It is up to the caretaker to find them and return them to the facility once more.
Of course…
It was easier said than done, considering how these Desmonds tend to… ‘find’ their way towards the people who would do everything to keep them safe.
Even from a caretaker who was more Isu than human.

(one of these days I'll actually post chapters and other works and not just these train of thought mini fics. I'm almost done with Impel Down and will go into Marineford. I... Needed some angst. Just a little, maybe a sprinkle. There will be a part two.)
pt 2
Sunny and the kids aren't on the ship when Buggy comes home.
Mohji tells him that after he was arrested, she took the kids and left. She needed to think some things over so she returned to the village where they met. Miss Pins has retired but Benji took over the shop. Having Sunny back makes his job so much easier.
Buggy pretends like it doesn't bother him but orders the crew to take him to her. When he's in the privacy of his room he falls to pieces. He had hoped she would have stayed on the ship to welcome him home, but could he blame her? How many years of marriage did they have? How many times has she put up with him? Was she finally through with him?
They arrive a week later. He bursts into the shop, dressed in his best to ask her to return home. Gold is sitting at the table with crayons and paper while Silver is in Sunny's arms as she stands at the front counter, looking over the books. She glances up when she sees him and there's no smile on her face. The kids, however, are thrilled to see their daddy. Sunny passes Silver to him while Gold rushes him, wrapping his tiny arms around one of Buggy's legs, chattering nonstop about the stuff they'd been up to, drawings that he did, and the books mommy read to them.
With both kids in his arms, happy to see their daddy, Buggy turns his attention to his wife with a grin on his face. "So, where's my welcome home kiss?"
"Do you want one?" Sunny asks, arms crossed as she stares back at him. He wonders how angry she really is over this. She had told him to be careful looking for that treasure, to not just go head first into those places, but he didn't listen and managed to come face to face with the damn Marines. When she learned of what happened to her husband she left. No reason to be on the ship without him.
"Of course I do!" Buggy insists. "Why wouldn't I?! I missed you just like you missed me!"
She doesn't humor him with a response and closes the book she has been looking at. "Maybe you should have thought about it before getting yourself arrested."
The calmness in her voice unnerves Buggy. He tightens his hold on the kids, hoping they could do something cute to distract their mom from getting angry at Buggy. He hates it when his wife is angry at him and it doesn't happen often, but when it does he has to pay for it. So he gives her a big grin, shrugging as he holds Silver in his arms.
"Sunny babe, I was doing it for us." He insists. "And maybe there was a hiccup or two in the plan but everything's gonna change! It's gonna be better!"
"Is it?" She asks. "Or are you just going to get arrested again?"
The calmness still bothers him. He tries to think of a response but has none. She's just staring at him, no smile or frown on her face, just a calm, neutral expression that absolutely terrifies him. He shoots a glance at her hands, relieved to see her still wearing her wedding ring, but for how much longer?
"I need a day, Buggy."
"A day? For what?!"
"To think this through."
"Think what through?!" He demands. "What are you talking about?!"
"We can talk later." She sighs. "I'm just tired and I can't do this in front of the kids." She rubs her face and looks him over. "Leave your coat with me so I can fix it."
"Where am I supposed to go?!" Is he being sent away after just reuniting with them? Is this it, the end to almost 15 years of marriage? He got arrested once and she was done?!
"Your ship?"
That was a knife to the heart. His ship. Not theirs. She specifically said his ship. This was it. This has to be the end. He couldn't believe it. He was so distraught, his mind racing, that he didn't hear what she was saying at first. She finally snapped her fingers in front of him after repeating his name multiple times, catching his attention.
"There's room upstairs still." She told him. "Benji doesn't live in the building, he's off with his husband nearby, so I've had the entire top floor for me and the kids. You can stay with us for the night, and if I'm ready to talk we're going to talk, understand?"
He did understand he just didn't want to.
"I'm going to close up shop. Take your coat off and hang it up, Buggy. I'll work on it after dinner."
"So should I come back tomorrow?"
"If you want, but you can stay with us if you want as well." She said, shoulders dropping as she let out a sigh. "We just need to talk."
He really didn't want to but he was nodding. "S-Sure."
