i love venom (2018) a lot, it’s my go-to movie when i’m bored or sad, i have seen it many many times. i saw it again a week or so ago with a bud and finally had the opportunity to pen down this lovely au i’ve been thinkin bout

i’ve got a much more fleshed out sketch of how this au plays out. not sure if i’ll write it yet

anyway some bullet points

noir (called, ofc, noir) arrives on earth-138 in the 1920s. his first host is robbie and they basically go through the venom movie, where noir slowly learns to love earth and humanity and all that jazz. up until the 50s or so they’re an investigative reporter and occasionally a scary vigilante superhero!

when robbie is killed (not ewaf style. i forbid it), it fucking devastates noir and he host-hops for a bit, doing fun anarchy things to keep up robbie’s legacy but also losing a few morals here and there. he can do a little murder and eat nazis as a treat

the symbiotes arrive en masse and osborn infects humans with them to turn into his fascist riot police army

through vampire-hunting-esque shenanigans, hobie and noir meet, and strike up a tenuous truce to fight the government. hobie does not like him at first, but noir very much does ;)

cue a slow burn gothic romance between a freedom fighter and a devoted monster <3

AU where steve and eddie exist in the old west. steve is the local sheriff and eddie owns a tavern well-known to fugitives and outlaws alike: the silver dollar.

eddie’s got a beer mug in each hand and he’s headed towards the end of the bar to a couple of patrons.

“jim, i’ll be with you as soon as i get these two outlaws taken care of!”

he’s met with raucous laughter and the tip of a cowboy hat just before the doors of the silver dollar swing open with a clatter.

“WILDER!”

sheriff harrington pulls his gun and with a wicked one-two pull shoots both mugs straight out of eddie’s hands, beer splashing to the floor and all over eddie’s boots.

eddie glances up towards wyatt and shrugs.

“i’ll owe ya a beer when steve’s done with you, i guess.”

he spins on his heel to face the door where the sheriff still stands with his gun drawn and eyebrows pulled angry.

“harrington! i swear to god! what did i say about shootin’ in my bar?”

steve has the nerve to look a little shy as he reholsters his weapon and makes to get wyatt in cuffs.

“apologies mr. munson. i’ll get ya’ some new mugs.”

he smirks and huffs a laugh.

“damn right you will. that’s the fourth time you’ve pulled this shit.”

steve yanks wyatt up by the shoulder and he grunts as the cuffs dig into his skin.

“maybe quit serving violent fugitives and i’d quit shootin’,” he says with an eyebrow raised.

eddie smirks back at him and starts pouring another glass for timothy, since his drink was lost to steve’s bullet also.

“no you won’t. see you next time, sheriff.”

steve shoves wyatt out into the street and tips his hat back towards eddie.

“next time.”

he’ll see him at home.

They’re still hiding it a little. Ingo’s got all his fire put away, so his jacket and hair are just kinda spiky as opposed to... constantly moving and glowing like fire. Emmet has to be very careful to not move his ear fins or allow any of his electric marks to light up. It’s tough work, but it’s fun!! All the depot agents just think they have extremely high quality professionally made outfits. So high quality and expensive that it’d be a waste of money not to wear them.

And technically, Emmet isn’t lying here. He just doesn’t confirm or deny the idea of them being costumes. It really was years of hard work to be comfy with themselves, and it’s def true that they wanna have more fun as themselves, especially to make up for the rough years of learning.
