ੈ♡˳ ayaka x reader (romantic <;3) ੈ♡˳ category :: fluff, festival date! ੈ♡˳ warnings :: none as far as i know, pls point out to me if i accidentally miss anything!!! ੈ♡˳ a/n :: the game im referencing here is a traditional japanese game usually played at stalls during festivals! if you want to learn more look up "goldfish scooping" <3

kamisato ayaka wasn't particularly a woman who was easy to please.

born into one of the noblest clans of the nation, there was little anyone could do to show her anything that'd honestly, truly gain her admiration-- especially not under the polite facade she has every time she went out for business. in fact, not even the lavish gifts from neighboring noblemen and women of inazuma could do much to sway her. it was expensive piece of jewelry after expensive piece of jewelry, top-grade garment after top-grade garment, most usually gifted in order to possibly gain her favor. they never worked, of course, not when she'd been practically bathing in them since childhood. they were appreciated, but never became anything more than just another peace offering or attempt to impress her.

and yet, she asks herself, why is she so impossibly intrigued when you do so little as any simple mundane activity?

"finally! ayaka, look! i've finally caught nine of them before it broke!" you triumphantly raised the bowl of tiny goldfish with your free hand, while the other still held onto the broken frame of a poi. the aforementioned woman was oh so quick to congratulate you, lightly clapping her hands together. for whatever reason, it seemed that she was the one smiling with pride, despite not partaking in the fishing game herself.

"ah, we get to keep these, right?" she asked while you claimed your prize from the stall-keeper, the plastic bag of fish now in your possession. "of course," you answered her. "it took me a few hundred mora, but it wasn't easy catching these!"

you'd barely finished your sentence when you handed off the bag to ayaka, who in her confusion almost dropped it.

"i won them for you, after all. i'd bet the kamisato estate has much more ornate decorations to it, but take these as a souvenir from this little trip of ours to the festival, okay?"

she didn't understand. she wanted to give it back, say you were too kind, assure you she didn't deserve it when you were the one who won them, but it seemed all the words got caught up in her throat. that, combined with her heart beating as if it were trying to escape her chest, her cheeks growing warmer by the second, and her stomach flipping like the fish in the bag.

in the end, all she could manage was a stuttering "thank you," earning a snicker from you and an even deeper blush for her. archons, she was thankful for the orange-hued lighting of the festival's lanterns that night, else you might've noticed her growing redder than the candied apples held by kids running around you.

the rest of the night went on in a similar fashion, you impressing her with different festival games, treating her to some of the sold delicacies, holding her hand while walking through the stalls, and finishing off with the extravagant fireworks display as the festivities reached its end. no, she didn't hold onto the goldfishes you won the entire time; no, she didn't grow a little more flustered each time her hand would brush against yours; and no, she most definitely did not die a little inside when you leaned onto her shoulder while the light show went off! absolutely not, none of that here.

or at least, that's what she told herself the following morning. the morning after you spent the festival together. the morning after you walked her all the way home, arm in arm. the very morning after you sent her off under the moonlight, right by the gate of the estate, an unspoken goodbye conveyed by your lips on hers for the very first time…

needless to say, it was much to many of the staff's surprise when, apparently out of nowhere, a nicely decorated aquarium of nine goldfish was displayed on one of the shelves near their lady's room. moreover, rumors appeared even further that every time she passed by it, the fondest of smiles adorned her face. it was as if a happy memory was written all over the golden scales-- memories of a priceless night spent with the one she loved most.

Randomly decided to draw on Ayaka today. Since the next release has been pushed back (understandably) I thought I’d try.

I pulled last week, expecting nothing, and I got Sayu which I was pretty happy with. She’s got an interesting play style even if I think the giant sword is weird, but whatever I suppose.

Pulled today and I got Ayaka! Plus Sayu and two brand new 4 star weapons as well. I wish I could have gotten Ayato when I tried on his but I’m not too sad!!
