Golden Kisses

My friend told me while growing up her mom used to tell her that the sun’s rays were like gentle, golden kisses from the sky. After listening to the artist Golden Kisses, you might be prone to make the same comparison to her music.

Golden Kisses was born in the Bronx, and now, hails from White Plains, New Jersey. So, it’s no surprise that Biggy is one of her biggest influences, along with other amazing artists like 50 Cent, Juicy J and The Weekend.

You can really feel these influences after just listening to a bit of Kisses music. Her rap cadence triggers memories of B.I.G. She even takes B.I.G. ‘s "Get Money" and uses it to make a remake and at her own flare to it. This remake of the same name, produced by Moshuun is just as fun and upbeat as the original track.

Kisses love for music all stemmed from her youth. “I’ve been surrounded by music my whole life,” said Kisses. “My parents both love different types of music and those sounds inspired me to start writing my own music when I was 9 years old.” This passion that she’s found in making music can clearly be heard in the songs she’s done. With her seemingly infallible flow and ability, Kisses finds the pocket and rides the beat. It's safe to say that this femcee clearly distinguishes herself from the pack.

Her song "Winning" is another fun track that’s all about getting to the bag with her team and not letting anything get in her way. Many of the tracks she has out right now are filled with positivity. And this is all a part of the bigger message that she tries to incorporate into all of her music. “I try to portray a message of just being yourself,” said Kisses “Always try to be the best version of yourself no matter what, and never let anyone tell you what you can or cannot do. Make your own rules.”

Her most recent track, "Elevated" is yet another example of how Kisses makes her own rules to follow. This track features Kisses not only rapping, but also singing. The song tells the story of Kisses trying to get high with the man she’s feeling at the moment. Kisses’ hook draws you in and quite frankly, entices you to grab a fonto and some papers to start rolling up your special herb of choice. She channels her slow flow to ride the beat flawlessly so before you know it you’re caught up in the beauty of the vibe she’s created.
