Concert Review: Louis Tomlinson at Moody Amphitheater

Louis Tomlinson brought his headlining “Faith in the Future” Tour to Moody Amphitheater on July 7. Throughout the night, Tomlinson brought heartfelt lyrics, upbeat anthems, and an infectious positive energy that truly gave the Austin crowd a night to remember.

Austin’s balmy air and glowing sunset enveloped Moody Amphitheater on July 7, where despite the warm Texas weather, Louis Tomlinson fans lined up along the venue’s perimeter anxiously awaiting what would be a fiery set from the British artist. They came bearing handmade signs, treasured merchandise, and an anticipatory excitement for the night ahead.

Around 7:10 pm, the show opened with a set from 23-year-old singer-songwriter Andrew Cushin. He kicked off with his hit song “You Don’t Belong” from his debut EP. The Newcastle native displayed a refreshing vulnerability, singing about everything from addiction (“4.5%”) and the everlasting remnants of childhood we all carry with us (“You’ll Be Free”). His mature lyrics and captivating stage presence made for a strong beginning to the night. At 8:00 pm, Scottish indie rock band The Snuts took the stage. Jack Cochrane, Joe McGilveray, Callum Wilson, and Jordan Mckay showed off their seamless group dynamic throughout their enlivening 30 minute set. They played a mix of indie rock tunes, ranging from summer tune “Maybe California” to their newest single “Gloria.” Their coming of age aura synced perfectly with the golden hour lighting and the crowd waving their hands in the air enthusiastically.

Shortly after the sun fell, The Snuts wrapped up their set, and the crowd felt the closeness of Tomlinson’s presence as the pre-show playlist came on shuffle. At each song’s end, everyone collectively held their breaths — eyes scanning the stage for the beloved singer — and released them as a new, non-Louis tune began. At 9:05 pm, their inhales released into a collective scream as the lights dipped the amphitheater into darkness. Seconds later, white lights flashed on stage and smoke filled the air as the supporting band walked out to their respective places. The recognizable opening drum beats of “The Greatest” rang through the venue, and in a haze of white fog and flashing lights, Tomlinson entered the stage with a smile. Screams erupted from the crowd before falling seamlessly into singing the first track off Faith In The Future along with him.

Following the opening track, the lights shifted into a sensual red as Tomlinson began his 2019 single “Kill My Mind.” Now adjusted to the stage, he gripped his mic passionately as he eased into the chorus singing, “I can ease the pain / Just a little taste babe / And ya won't let go of your hold on me.” Throughout the song and the rest of the set, Tomlinson was intentional about connecting with his fans, gracing all areas of the stages and pointing out to fans’ beaming faces. The crowd reflected his energy right back to him, dancing and rehearsing each lyric without hesitation.

The vibrant red lights shifted into a soft blue, signaling a shift into the more reflective single “Bigger Than Me.” Touching on the inner struggles of self-doubt and personal growth, the pop rock anthem brought the crowd together in beautiful solidarity. Tomlinson’s eyes gleamed with gratitude as he looked out, taking in the gravity of thousands of voices singing back to him, “Now I realize that the world outside / Is bigger than me.”

Throughout his hour and a half long set, Tomlinson never lost the attention of his audience. The crowd mirrored his every lyric, and consistently erupted into cheers between each song. There were moments of sentimental tears, such as during the One Direction original “Night Changes,” and others of spirited dancing during “She is Beauty” and “Back to You.”

After two minutes and 18 seconds of the sheer zeal of “Out of My System,” Tomlinson disappeared off the stage in a post-firework fog. Fans quickly caught the encore memo and began chanting, “Louis! Louis! Louis!” After a couple minutes passed, a single spotlight appeared on the dark stage, and Tomlinson reappeared, standing alone on the side of the stage. His warm voice recollected a darker time in the beginning lines of “Saturdays,” “Feelin' dirty cheap on Silver Street / At quarter to three / Hidden across my face / In the crowd, I'm countin' up the days / In a haze.” The pensive first verse and nostalgic pre-chorus slowly built into the all of the lights going up and the band joining in as he sang, “No matter how much you want it, some things change.”

For the final two songs of the set, Tomlinson played an ode to his past life with “Where Do Broken Hearts Go,” from One Direction’s fourth studio album, Four. Suddenly we were back in 2014, and the atmosphere filled with a sense of reminiscence and nostalgia for a time that was simpler. After the crowd screamed the last, “Where do broken hearts go?” back at Tomlinson, the stage dimmed yet again. Soon after, a singular light welcomed the beginning of Faith in the Future’s third single “Silver Tongues.” Reflecting on the bliss of coming-of-age moments, the song perfectly captured the night’s youthful fervor as fans echoed, “Nights like these, we'll remember,” and Tomlinson’s powerful performance proved this to be true to every audience member. As the song closed out, fireworks pierced the black sky and streamers cascaded down, with fans reaching up, hoping to take a small part of Tomlinson’s magic with them.

“The Faith in The Future” Tour’s success made it even more clear how influential Tomlinson has become. Louis’ fans know every lyric to every tune, and there is a sense of community at his concerts that few artists achieve. His music speaks to some of his darkest moments and greatest memories, creating a striking bond between him and his fans. In this, Tomlinson perfectly, yet honestly, fulfills the greatest gift of music: to connect people.

Nai/Knives' comment about "remaking" Vash at the end of Ep 10 has me really worried and terrified for Vash and what's going to become of him, as well as what Knives intends to do with him.

We know from previous episodes that Knives wants Vash to open his gate and use it -- the gate we saw in Episode 9's flashback, which consumed his arm and the corpses of the men Knives had killed.

(Which completely takes out the thought that Legato has Vash's arm in this canon this time. Makes you wonder where Legato got those gravity well-like abilities of his, considering how black hole-like they are....)

But what do we know of the brothers? Knives doesn't think humans should be allowed to continue on as they are, instead intent on creating something new so that Plants can live on as independent beings (see the "cute" little girl that killed Roberto, soon to be called the Crimson Nail when she grows up). He wants Vash to see that and join him, calling him out on not truly loving humanity, and instead seeing his helping them as atonement for the Big Fall.

I want to believe that is just Knives being a manipulative little bastard, but he could have some good points, too. We'll have to wait and see whether or not he's right.

Because it sounds like Knives not only wants to remake Vash physically, but he also wants to break him down and bring him back together mentally.

We see in the Ep 11 preview Vash with his flesh-and-blood arm back, right? And we see Knives stab his brother before those scenes.

I have reason to believe Knives is going to subject Vash to some form of memory torture in order to prove to him that Vash can't atone to the humans, when they haven't atoned for the sins Knives perceives in them. Knives is trying to prove that we humans aren't creatures that can be saved by any stretch of the imagination.

And Knives, through all this, wants his brother whole, back at his side, seeing the truth that he sees.

Whether or not Vash will survive mentally, come out on the other side completely different...well, we manga readers and old fans probably have a few ideas as to what's going to come of this.

But I think this is going to be what tips Vash over the edge to instinctually reach for his power in defense of himself, to act towards the protection of others...and it will wipe July/JuLai off the map.

It's only a matter of whether that happens at the end of Ep 11, or somewhere in Ep 12.

Which is it gonna be, Orange? And how badly are we going to want to hug Vash by the end of it all?

1- Iruma Suzuki- Welcome to Demon school Iruma-Kun

I saw the anime first before reading the manga, I was unsure before I saw the first episode when it came out, but Irumas personality and reactions (Along with him being a massive fucking cinnamon roll) won me over and now M!IK is one of my favourite series ever.

2-Tanya degurechaff- The Saga of Tanya the Evil

I can't remember where I first saw The Saga of Tanya the evil, but I am a history nerd and a gun nut, especially for WW1, WW2 so it was right up my alley. I love her natural coldness and calculability, juxtaposed to her appearance, and she partially inspired the MC/main narrator for my novel.

3-Mikaela Hyauka- Seraph of the End

I love his role in the story, and Seraph of the End was one of first the Animes I watched and pretty much the first manga I read. I like his hair cut and that also inspired the appearance of the MC mentioned above.

4- Mash Burnedead-Mashle

I like listless characters that end up OP. Also the art of Mashile is as marvelous as it's humour. I found the story really engaging, and it was the first manga that was released new that I was able to buy the volumes for myself so it is special to me. Also I like cream puffs. Pastries are nice, cinnamon buns and homer Simpson doughnuts especially.

5-Wangnan Ja- Tower of God

I saw the anime adaptation of Tower of God first, then decided to get a webtoons account to read it, as I heard some big bits were left out. I loved the story and binged it during my A-level exams month and the ones running up to it. I absolutely loved Wangnan's introduction and loved how he played off Bam and Khun. I really hope he comes back into the story again because I love his depressed ass.

6-Micheal. J. Caboose- Red Vs Blue

From the Red Vs Blue web series, which I started watching almost ages ago, as it came on Netflix, leading me to binge watch it multiple times, almost six or seven times. I love caboose as a character, due to his teamkilling, and general stupidly which hides his massive strength and brilliance with robotics and machinery.

7- Buggy the Clown- One Piece

I started one piece around 2019/20 during the summer and binged as many of the English dubbed episodes there were then read the manga from around chapter 800, where I couldn't wait for more EPs to be made, and then caught up. I love Buggy, purely because of his personality, cunning and tbh his style, he has a great presence and knows how to use showmanship. He may seem underpowered, but his closest opponents are either literal god's, or those approaching it. He is just very fun and I enjoy seeing him.

8- Tintin- Tintin

Tintin was the first graphic novel/ comic I really read that was story based. I loved the characters and places the series showed, and how Tintin managed to get through all of them with his wit, friends in high places, and ASTONISHING luck.

9-Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III- How to Train your dragon (Books)

One of the first books I ever read for myself, well really tied as first with 'A series of Unfortunate Events: The reptile room' was Cressida Cowell's, How to train your dragon, how to speak dragonese, the third book in the series. I went back and read one and two then read every book in the series. It was and remains one of my favourite books, and characters ever.

10- Bill Cipher- Gravity Falls

I like mad characters in fiction, where they just do what they want without too particular a reason. Gravity falls was one of the first shows I got really obsessed with when I was younger. And I got obsessed with Bill, I had him as my screen saver on my phone for ages.

So from this previous post, I shared a link to do Google Form Spy x Family: a small survey, and I've recieved 6 answers in June! Btw, the from is still open, so pls do it if you are reading this. Very simple, only 6 questions, 4 multiple choices and 2 short answers questions.

Thank you very much 6 first ppl to do the form <3. Okay, I have a little surprise at the end of the post, but first, let's take a look at the survey ;)

So all 6 of you choose Yes! It's very obvious that Spy x Family is a very famous anime currently, and a hit too!

Btw, I've accidenty choosenthe wrong answer type, if you have done the form, you'd see I let you choose the square answer type (many answers), not the dots (one answer), but anyways, that's not important much.

Ah, I see, all of you like about the anime/ manga and the characters, 4 of you like the scenes and the animations. The others (you guys add): story and respectful potrayal of women.

Okay, most of you like Loid and Anya Forger, makes sense 'cause they are the first characters appears in episode 1 after all. So Becky and Sylvia are the least fav, and I dunno who is Billy? The only Billy that I know is the Bill Watkins (I think) appears in ep.10 and the Bill in Gravity Falls (which is not related in SxF)

So half of you choose me working on all 3, okay, make sense!

*sigh* So, I started up my Louis Tomlinson blog again, after several years, cuz I finally have the mental/emotional energy to maintain it, and it looks like my blog might've been shadowbanned. The name of the blog was "let go" at one point, because I was inactive, but when I went to rename my blog, the original name was still available. So, I saved it again.

I sent a ticket to Tumblr support, but I'm wondering if I should just change the name all together. But I'm not sure if that would help? It's just frustrating, cuz a lot is happening with Louis's new song/album and I want to be able to interact with fellow fans/reblog/etc. 😢

Any suggestions are welcomed.

Music Recs

1. Louis Tomlinson has a new single out today - "Bigger than Me" - and it just showcases how much his songwriting and vocals have grown. I'm so happy that he got to tour this year, (after the personal and professional obstacles he had to contend with the past few years), and I'm thrilled that he'll be able to release his 2nd album in November.

His songs have gotten me through some pretty bad times and I'm so proud to be his fan. 🥰😍

2. Blackpink - "Pink Venom" - my girls are back and I couldn't be happier. 😍 They're still really the only Kpop group I follow at the moment, (though I'm starting to look into other groups), and their music just energizes me so much. I know that there are some fans who don't like the new single, but I appreciate how it's different from their previous songs, without going too far in another direction. Their talent still kills me, I swear. 😘

3. Rina Sawayama - she has a new EP out and I adore every song on it. Her vocals in "Phantoms" and "Catch Me in the Air" are breathtaking and I continue to adore her lyrics. I'm so glad that I followed up on that Tumblr post I found a few months ago about Rina, cuz I've become such a huge fan of her music, and I hadn't heard of her before that. I HIGHLY recommend checking her out. 🥰😍

in a Class 9 Physics curriculum, the topic of work and energy is fundamental. Here are some key notes on work and energy:

1. Work:

Definition: Work is done when a force causes a displacement in the direction of the force applied.

Formula: Work = Force*Displacement*cos(theta), where(theta) is the angle between the force and displacement vectors.

2. Unit of Work:

The unit of work is the joule (J).

3. Positive and Negative Work:

If the force and displacement are in the same direction, work is positive.

If the force and displacement are in opposite directions, work is negative.

4. Energy:

Definition: Energy is the capacity to do work.

Forms of Energy: Kinetic energy (due to motion), potential energy (due to position), and various other forms like thermal, chemical, etc.

5. Kinetic Energy (KE):

Formula: KE = ½*mass*(velocity)^2

8. Power:

Definition: Power is the rate at which work is done or energy is transferred.

Formula: Power = Work/Time

The unit of power is the watt (W).

9. Efficiency:

Definition: Efficiency is the ratio of useful work output to the total energy input.

Formula: Efficiency= Useful Energy Output/Total Energy Input*100%
