Here are some headcanons I have about the Bad Batch’s pets.
Hunter: He’s a dog person, unsurprisingly. He’s probably going to end up owning a pack of them. I think that, out of a desire to have pets that can hold their own, he’d end up with ones that are super frigging dangerous (despite his repeated admonitions of Omega bringing home rather violent animals). Some options would be the vornskr (dogs that hunt Force-sensitives; Hunter would end up training it not to attack Omega but everyone else should step carefully), the charhound (fire doggo), the Raquor'daan (dog with a skull face and scorpion tail), the Coromon headhunter (literally eats heads), the Howlerunner (another dog with a skull for a face), the akk dog (Force-sensitive dogs from Mace Windu’s homeworld; probably terrified the vornskr into leaving it alone), and the early death dog (he has no ground to criticize Omega for bringing home dangerous pets). Who knows, he might find a strill somewhere and add it to the pack.
Crosshair: He already has Batcher, but he could do with some more therapy animals. For instance, the scarred tooka cat that despises everyone who isn’t him with a fiery passion. Or the ice vulture that decided that he was its new parent and now sits on his shoulder glaring at everyone. Or the nexu kitten that, like the vulture, is firmly convinced that he’s its mom. Crosshair has resigned himself to his fate.
Wrecker: You’d think he’d have something big and tough and intimidating. Instead, Wrecker has a deep love for hamsters, gerbils, guinea pigs, rats, and mice. One of them is named Mr. Nibbles. It seems like the kind of pet ownership that would end in tragedy, given Wrecker’s enhanced strength and over enthusiastic behavior, but he’s very gentle with his. If you upset him, you will get glared at by several dozen angry rodents. Of course, that would be the least of your problems.
Tech: He likes bugs and fish. Their workings and behaviors are fascinating, especially the bugs, and he finds the movements of the fish soothing. He claims that he isn’t attached or anything, but the fact that he’s named 90% of them causes a lot of side eying.
Echo: He didn’t need a pet. He didn’t want a pet. So why, through some sequence of events he doesn’t quite follow, does he now own a rancor?
Omega: Last week she brought back an abomination of Sith alchemy with too many tentacles and eyes. It spits acid, guards mind-shattering secrets, and likes to eat sentient flesh. It also acts like a puppy around her and lets her braid its hair(????). (Whatever she’s decorating, it’s not hair.)

I need more Giant/Tiny-pet content!!!
I NEED more Giant's keeping Tiny's as pets. It’s not something I see enough of and it’s driving me insane, so I am making this post in hopes that other feral creatives will help me fix the issue.
I love the idea cause there are so many different ways you can take it!
They have a little enclosure like a hamster cage or something, fit with tiny furniture, and entertainment. Or maybe it’s only more basic stuff, like a makeshift bed and two bowls for food and water. This could be seen as caring and compassionate by the giant or made out to be an intentionally cruel or bad thing to do to a tiny. Maybe there are Giants who see the ownership of Tinys as slavery, and fight for their freedom, or maybe it’s been so normalized only a small few giants have issue with it.
Maybe Tinies are sold off in pet stores, imagine how it’d feel to be in this giant glass home where giants are peering down at you all the time, no privacy or security. At any moment a Giant might unlock the enclosure, and reach down and pick you up. Giants tapping on the walls to get your attention. Or to be the giant, peering into this adorable little enclosure filled with tinies, some hiding some maybe walking right up to the glass hoping to get adopted so they can get out of that damned store.
They keep the Tiny in a little travel carrier for vet visits. The feeling of the floor moving under their feet, clinging dearly to the bars so they don’t go flying across their carrier into the wall.
Imagine how terrifying it would be for a tiny who got captured by a giant now being kept as a pet, how cute it'd be for a giant to hold this shaking little thing in their massive hands that practically swallow the tiny up whole.
Then think how the vet visit goes, being poked and prodded by some giant stranger as they talk about the tiny like they aren’t even there. Massive fingers holding the tiny down with such ease and composure it feels humiliating to be unable to stop them. The tiny has a little collar or tracking device in them, so even if they escape they aren’t safe. Being found by any Giant could lead them right back to their owner.
Tiny’s being separated from friends and family, being placed into some jail-like environment with other Tiny’s who may or may not be friendly or even safe to be around. Having to learn to survive with complete strangers.
Or maybe the giant is nicer, they make sure Tiny is well fed, safe, secure. The giant sees it as a way to take care of them, maybe tiny agrees, or maybe they don’t. Either way Gian thinks they are doing what’s best.

Hi Snake, which Bachelor/Bachelorette is the most likely to keep a snake as a pet/like snakes? Also I hope you are doing well!
Bachelor/ettes Ranked by How Much They Like Snakes
Hi! I must confess, I have a smidge feeling this is Mouse/Student speaking. If so, hi! Nice to see you around here! If not, also hi! Anyway, here's where I confess I don't know too much about snakes. Whoops. I just think they're cute. And I hope you are doing well too!
Tumblr media
Most likely to keep a snake (below)
Emily
Emily loves all animals, and she's thought about getting a snake multiple times! The only thing that stands in the way is her personal distaste for the ownership of living animals and Haley. If she could be buddies with a wild snake, however, she'd love to!
Sam
Sam's thought about getting a snake before, but Jodi would never let him. Vincent's also not the biggest fan of snakes, either (Vincent scares away the spiders for Jas, Jas leads Vincent away and around the snakes). He also isn't prepared to own a pet just yet. They're a lot of work and require a lot of money and dedication!
Sebastian
If getting a frog never works out, Sebastian would like a snake. They just seem really cool to him. They're cute, but can be dangerous, too. Who doesn't like a combination like that?
Leah
Leah isn't as likely to get a snake, but she's love to see one in a zoo. She's seen snakes around her house before and always gets so excited. She stays away from them, of course, but tries to remember the image so she can perhaps paint it!
Abigail
Abigail likes snakes because they're badass and can kill things. She likes that stuff. Though she does have a fear of one killing her hamster, so she doesn't want to get one. She also has a fear of getting bitten.
Maru
Maru would get a snake because they're cool for a scientist to have. They just work with the aesthetic, you know? But she's not prepared at all to care for one, and she doesn't have much interest in it besides that. Pets need lots of love, and she's more focused on other things at the moment.
Elliott
Elliott would also get a snake for the aesthetic. But he would also be scared of it and wouldn't go near it, which would be terrible for the snake's health. So, he just doesn't get one.
Haley
Haley is scared of snakes. She's scared of rats, spiders, snakes, bugs, and any other critter considered a pest. Emily talked about going to a zoo to see a snake once with her and she shut that down real quick.
Penny
Penny is also scared of snakes. She tends to freeze when she gets scared, and a big fear of hers is that she'll freeze around something dangerous and get hurt. It just really freaks her out, so she stays away from that stuff. She can see one in a museum, though.
Shane
Shane hates snakes. He hates them so much. They scare him.
Alex
Alex's biggest phobia is snakes. Aside from like, the whole parental fears and family fears and big stuff, he's scared of snakes. Spiders are no big deal; he can deal with them any day. but snakes are bigger and venomous and scarier.
Harvey
Harvey is deathly afraid of snakes. Like he will freak out if he sees one. Like freeze up before the adrenaline kicks in and he leaps over it and runs off. Terrified. This poor man.
Least likely to keep a snake (above)

If you're averse to reading content that mentions animal abuse/death, here is your heads up if you want to skip this post!
The longer I work at a pet store, the more I'm convinced that very few people actually deserve the privilege of pet ownership. I'm talking specifically about the customers who come in and make an impulse purchase of a pet, without any prior research, and eventually either bring it back dead, or close to it. A woman returned a hamster to our store in a shit-caked hamster ball, saying that that ball had been it's only home for three weeks. I'm amazed it is still alive. She wanted another hamster, but I refused her the sale. She left in a huff, but apparently purchased another hamster at a different location that same day!
Another man brought a guinea pig back to the store that was completely unresponsive, emaciated and had labored breathing, and we ended up having to put him to sleep. This asshole wanted ANOTHER guinea pig, but my manager told him he was never allowed back to our store again. The thing is, we have NO way to blacklist people from buying animals altogether. There's no way for us to leave notes on their accounts or anything, so all they need to do to keep buying animals is to go to a location where they're not known. I am honestly so torn. I want people to care about these poor animals, I need this job so I can't be careless in my interactions with guests, but I'm so tired of these pets being treated like this.

jamie headcanons that have fuck all to do with canon tbh:
a lot of his music taste comes from his mum & they have a cd they always played when cleaning the house tgt and even tho georgie tried to send him to richmond with the cd, he made her keep it and has a copy of the playlist on spotify that, yes, he plays while cleaning (well... "cleaning". he's got cleaners but he can at least put the laundry in a hamper. sometimes)
he's not a very strong reader however he knows a more-than-decent amt of books bc his mum would read to him before bed and she never stopped, even as he got older. sometimes when he has trouble sleeping he'll call her and she'll read to him over the phone
had a pet hamster when he was like eight that did in fact die a gruesome hamster death and he cried about it for a solid four hours. that was his only foray into pet ownership but he's not sure it's his last (he always stops when he sees stray cats and "free puppies" signs but with the travel and hours of training required for football it's just not possible rn)
he and keeley used to learn dances together but stopped after they broke up. HOWEVER keeley does still go to brazil with him and they get to break out one of the dances they learnt. when they get back to england they start dancing tgt again
has considered having roy's signature tatted on his body somewhere (thought occurred when he was a teen). ultimately glad he didn't go through with it after properly meeting roy but now he's thinking about it again
this is kinda implied already but music is VERY IMPORTANT to him. he actually does listen to a bit of everything but he's also very opinionated about his faves. ppt night = top ten female vocalists. he goes last bc his presentation is the longest, with recordings of live performances for each, plus his explanations

*Engineer recieves a box in the mail. It feels very light, leading him to think that it was completely empty. When he opens it, however, he realizes that the box actually contains a portal. He can see through to the other side of the portal, which appears to lead to somewhere in space, far away from our galaxy. The first thing he sees is a giant yellow-brown planet. Using the included telescope, he takes a closer look at the planet's surface, only to find that it isn't a planet at all, but a giant ball of hamsters. Attached to a box is an official document of some sort, stating that ownership of the planet-sized hamster mass has been transferred to Dell Conagher.*
Engineer: [pulls back away from the telescope, then leans back in to look again, pulling back and pacing around his workshop] What.. what am I supposed to do with this? Am I supposed to anything about this? Are they safe out there?! I'd assume so if they're survivin' on their own but.. but what if somethin' happens?!
Engineer: [rushes back to the telescope, the first hamster still dressed up like him popping its head out of his overalls to squeak at him] I know, lil' buddy.. we'll.. we'll figure it out. Maybe it won't be so unethical to just.. relocate an entire alien hamster mass to Earth, right?

May I please request Lord Tirek x Earth pony headCanons please
Like I did the other villains (Nightmare Moon, Discord, King Sombre, Queen Chrysalis kinda), this will be an AU of Season 4's finale.
Large centaur holds you like a rat, I guess-
Yandere! Lord Tirek x Earth Pony! Darling
Pairing: Romantic/Platonic/Pet-like (Darling's end)
Possible Trigger Warnings: Gender-Neutral Darling, Degrading behavior, Kidnapping, Demeaning behavior, Slight possessive behavior, Obsession, Forced affection, Sadism.
Tumblr media
- Lord Tirek's main goal is to rule Equestria by stealing all of its magic.
- He's selfish, violent, manipulative, and evil.
- He's a tyrant and could care less how people think of him.
- He doesn't care for friendship.
- It's very unfortunate you're an earth pony.
- Unicorns and alicorns have strong magic.
- Pegasai use magic to fly.
- Earth ponies have magic, but not as strong as the other groups.
- Tirek's view of you is already pretty low.
- Poor pony, you were weak before but now you're even weaker.
- How pitiful.
- Lord Tirek is not a believer of friendship, or even very affectionate.
- His views towards you would definitely lean more towards a sense of ownership than a mutual sense of attraction.
- After he gains all of the alicorn magic and the Tree of Harmony plan fails, all the ponies/beings in Equestria are little more than toys.
- He's massive and obsessive about his size and power.
- He could easily crush you in his claws, yet he doesn't.
- There's no point to it in his eyes.
- Lord Tirek is Obsessive, Manipulative, Aggressive, Possessive, and so Controlling.
- His views towards his darling would be like you're his pet.
- Even more so if you're an earth pony.
- It's like having a pet mouse with his size.
- You'd be kept in a cage, kept alive by his command.
- Your life is in his hands.
- You're considered lucky for not being on the chopping block.
- You're barely able to move due to your strength being absorbed.
- Even if he gave it back to you, you could not fight him anyway.
- Lord Tirek is already too strong once he has all the magic he can get his hands on.
- He technically doesn't need you.
- Part of him... just wants to keep you, however.
- Hearing you spew all sorts of random talk at him was at first annoying.
- Then he starts listening to you begrudgingly like a radio.
- A ruler such as himself needs some sort of entertainment.
- Hearing you speak to him, pleading or some sort of story, eases his boredom.
- Perhaps even eases himself.
- You feel even more like a caged bird due to this....
- As some sort of power play, he'd probably hold you or force you on his shoulder.
- He'd be very demeaning about your situation, calling you a cute and weak pony pet.
- He drills in the fact you're weaker than him over and over.
- His possessive behavior comes off like him being angered over you trying to escape or associating with other weak ponies.
- He rules Equestria.
- You're his little pet to play around with.
- In response he'll just pluck you from your spot and bring you wherever he wants you.
- The pairing is hard to decide, as it's not really platonic or romantic.
- It's much darker than that-
- It's more like, an owner being obsessive and possessive over a pet.
- Perhaps if you were the same size at first, he'd consider something more intimate (barely).
- He doesn't really form close connections.
- Which means, even if he has some sort of twisted affection towards you, he'd still treat you as a pet.
- To Tirek, he thinks in his twisted mind you should be thankful for what he does.
- He feeds you, gives you a large cage, and pets your soft body like a hamster.
- Compared to everyone else in your home... you're living the high life, aren't you?
- His 'affection' is better than nothing, right?

Janus has a little glass dollhouse he bought for Patton so he can return the favor of being the cute little husband who runs around all day in very little clothes
I also imagine he has various hamster tubes, rat mazes, terrariums, etc that he'll drop the sides into cause it's cute to watch them run around for his amusement. Plus, pets need enrichment, after all, and Janus prides himself on his pet ownership
he gets really into the pet ownership aspect. they think they're people? no, no! he can shrink them down whenever he pleases and theyre just pets! his pets!
and when he gets them all down at once, its rather amusing watching them play. he puts logan in an embarrassing outfit and watches remus pounce on him, pushes virgil and roman against each other until theyre messy and teary eyed, dresses up patton like the prettiest housewife and tells him to be a good dolly and keep the others in line!
watching them run around mazes is cute too, especially because there'd be dead ends, twists and turns, and empty holes in which they could fall through, often onto januss chest, between his thighs, or in his mouth, where he'll have a bit of fun with them before putting them back in their enclosure
and getting a dollhouse for patton - but eventually for all of them - is even more fun! they get to play house, but by his rules. hell give them tasks, push them towards the plastic furniture, and leave them flustered and pleasantly trembling as they ponder when theyll be grabbed and dressed down (and back up again) and placed into a new role, or just played with for their allotted time before being deposited back into januss playset to be used at a later date

"Spongebob is ruining our kids" "Video games are ruining our kids"
okay but why is my baby cousin watching instagram reels about hamsters wearing chicken nugget costumes passing by singing toilet paper rolls? Like it sounds funny at first but like
Why is my 5 year old cousin punching the restaurant booth and screaming at the top of his lungs in public because his dad had to take his own phone back in order to pay the bill with it?
Why does he hit his parents when they ask him to turn the volume down from max on these like mindless videos?
Why is he, a 5 year old, in charge of skipping the reels that have curse words in it for himself? They are letting him watch childish, colorful, overstimulating 10 second videos where the music has slurs and cursing and he's supposed to just know that isn't good for him? Or is that just fine?
Why did they allow him to feel ownership of their phones? He doesn't have a phone, but he doesn't realize that; he thinks his parents' phones are more for him than for them.
He is malfunctioning at school. He isn't learning as well as he could have been if his brain wasn't like fully taken up by a bright ass rectangle he stares into instead of doing anything else to keep himself entertained. I'm not trying to be mean to him but he isn't learning well and he isn't on a good path to being a functioning teen or adult.
I'm not a parent yet but people are doing their kids so wrong. It wasn't the video games or the regular tv cartoons or the heavy metal music or the d&d that fucked us up it's this and no one cares and no one talks about it and no one takes it seriously.
And I say this as someone who grew up as smart phones and social media was getting into full swing. And I wish I was less fucked up by it too. But this is another level of internet addiction and I'd even argue withdrawals, in little little kids. It's kind of scary to see and not be able to fix it for him.
Like what the fuck.

The domestication of the Syrian hamster began in the late 1700s when naturalists cataloged the Syrian hamster, also known as Mesocricetus auratus or the golden hamster. In 1930 medical researchers captured Syrian hamster breeding stock for animal testing. Further domestication led this animal to become a popular pet.
The Syrian hamster's natural habitat is in a small region of Northwest Syria near the city of Aleppo.[1] It was first described by science in the 1797 second edition of The Natural History of Aleppo, a book written and edited by two Scottish physicians living in Syria.[2] The Syrian hamster was first recognized as a distinct species in 1839.[3] In 1930, a scientist seeking animal subjects for medical research had the first Syrian hamsters captured to become laboratory animals.[4] Scientists bred those hamsters and during the 1930s sent their descendants to various other laboratories around the world.[5] By the late 1940s in the United States, a commercial hamster industry had begun to provide hamsters for laboratory use and at the same time to popularize hamsters as pets.[6] In later years, further expeditions back to Syria captured other hamsters to increase genetic diversity among the populations of hamsters shared among breeders.
Wild Syrian hamsters become tame in a matter of days after being captured and handled by humans.[7] Wild hamsters are quick to adapt to captivity and thrive in a laboratory setting.[7]
Albert Marsh of Mobile, Alabama established the commercial hamster industry in the United States in the 1940s.[30] Marsh first got a hamster when he was gambling and won it in a wager.[24] Somehow he got more hamsters after this one, perhaps from the breeding stock managed by Guy Henry Faget in Carville, Louisiana.[24] At the time, Marsh was a highway engineer but unemployed.[24] After getting his hamsters, he learned to breed them and founded Marsh Enterprises and the Gulf Hamstery, which promoted Syrian hamsters as pets, for laboratory use, and in business schemes.[24] Marsh took advertisements in magazines, comics, and livestock trade journals which praised hamsters as pets and presented the idea that breeding hamsters was a good business investment.[24] In his business, he shipped hamsters to people who would be breeders, then he coordinated the shipment of various breeders' hamsters to other breeders or to laboratories.[24]
Marsh was successful in part because of the professionalism he brought to the art of hamster husbandry. He authored a book, The Hamster Manual, which had a distribution of 80,000 copies by its 6th edition in 1951.[24] In 1946, Marsh began a campaign to legalize the ownership of hamsters in California, which were prohibited. On 10 February 1948, with the help of the governor of Alabama and others, Marsh was successful in convincing the California State Department of Agriculture to designate Syrian hamsters as "normally domesticated animals".[19]
The hamstery business peaked from 1948-1951 then profitability dropped to almost nothing in the early 1950s.[31] The market changed when small hamsteries, most of which started with hamsters from Marsh, became available everywhere and satisfied local demand for pet hamsters.[31] Marsh's Gulf Hamstery closed in the 1950s.[31]
hamsters only became pets in the 40s...

Ok I'm making one of these finally for people on mobile :)
My Pets
My Previous Pets
About Me
In short...
I currently have one mouse named Russ, who was required to live alone by the rescue I adopted him from because he was very violent with his littermates who he lived with previously. I also have three blue death-feigning beetles, named the Three Fates (Clotho, Lachesis, and Atropos) and three isopod colonies.
I previously ran a blog called claricespieces, later renamed to mesocricetus-auratus, that followed my ownership of multiple hamsters. I would love to get a hamster again in the future, but my care standards have increased and I don't presently have space to make the cage I'd want.
I also helped orchestrate the legal takedown of Wallrova, if anyone remembers that...what an awful company and thank goodness it no longer exists!
Blocklist under the cut.
I will block without warning if:
-You post transphobic garbage or support transphobes (this includes any of J.K Rowling’s works, Elon Musk/Tesla, etc)
-You continue to mistreat or neglect your pets after being offered advice that is within your means
-You identify as a zoophile and are pro-contact/okay with that; if you’re in therapy or otherwise trying to get help and have no desire to hurt animals, I support you in your healing journey and wish you the best of luck
-You refer to my rodents/any rodents as “snake food” or otherwise make fun of rodent owners for having “throwaway pets”
