Picture Board - Cg!Bucky x GN!reader

Summary: Bucky looks after his nonverbal little.

Warning: Neurodivergent little reader. Mentions of sensory issues, nonverbal communication. Mention of pull-ups

It had been a looong morning.

You had been up and down through the night which left you tired and fussy.

And then you hated all your clothes- screaming and crying as Bucky offered you different options. It hurt him to see you struggling with emotions that were just too big for your little body.

He was no stranger to your sensory issues, having spoken in detail about them with you when you were big.

But you just couldn't get the words to come out, which made you more upset, which led to a mini-meltdown.

It took a while, but Bucky finally managed to get you into a pull-up, and a light green fluffy oodie that had frogs on it. Matching fluffy socks were on your feet.

You had slept through most of the morning and into early afternoon, so now you were in your playroom, curled up on a pile of soft blankets and pillows, watching bluey with captions on, and the sound at low volume.

You had a fidget toy in your hands as you watched your cartoon, finally settled after a hard morning.

"Hi, pumpkin, do you need something?"

Bucky smiles widely as he crouched down to your level, watching as you played with your fidget toy.

You hum softly around your paci in response, not looking up at your Baba. He didn't mind this, knowing that eye contact could make you uncomfortable.

"Can you use your words?" When you shake your head Bucky follows up with, "Are words too much right now? That’s okay, little one, sometimes words are just too big."

He shifts and watches you fondly, thinking about how to make sure you are able to communicate with him

"Can you write it down?"

Another head shake, "No? Okay let me go get your picture board."

He gets up and moves across the colourful room to the chest of drawers and opens the top drawer to take out the picture board and extra cards.

He swiftly moves back to your side and kneels down again, holding the board out to you.

"Here you go, sweetheart. Can you point to what you’d like"

Your eyes move away from your fidget toy and to the board. Looking over the icons you point to the picture of a juice box.

"Juice? Of course, honey! We have blackcurrant, orange, or apple, which would you like? You can just hold up 1, 2, or 3 fingers."

You hum softly again, this time as you think about what juice you want. Then you hold up 3 fingers.

"Three? Apple juice it is. I’ll go fill up your sippy. Anything else?"

Bucky smiles as you nod.

"Yup, just point to the picture for me."

Bucky waits patiently as you point to the picture board.

"A hug? Oh pumpkin, of course you can get a hug, come here. You’re my sweet little one, and I love you so much!"

Remus and autistic!reader who’s dissociated and needs some sensory input so he has all sorts of fidget toys for them and one of those projector lights that have nice bright colors along with some fuzzy blankets and all sorts of cuddles and whatever else you might be able to come up with! Sorry if it’s oddly specific, but that sort of situation brings me so much comfort and I’d love to see your take on it 🥺

I googled some common symptoms and added in what happens when a family member of mine does it. I hope you like it <3

“Dove, do you want me to cut up some fruit for you?” Remus is in the kitchen while you lay on the sofa with your book held in front of you but you can’t focus on anything.

Your eyes are unfocused, your breathing is slow and long and you’re not sure what’s wrong or what’s triggered the dissociation, but that’s what you’re doing.

You can feel yourself out of your body a little and it scares you but you don’t know how to stop it.

You can barely hear, you feel like someone’s stuffed cotton in your ears and they’ve dulled the receptors on your skin cos you can’t feel anything.

“Dove?” Remus leaves the kitchen and stands by the archway to the living room. He can see it a little, having trained himself to look for all your typical signs of dissociation.

“Alright, baby.” He murmurs, toddling around the living room and bedroom to set it up just like you like.

Remus lays some of your toggles on the coffee table, he lets your favourite fluffy blanket-one with little hearts on it- at your feet, and turning on your projector to display aura colours you like on the wall.

“I know you’re feeling weird and out of it a little, but I promise you’re okay, dove.” Remus kisses your forehead and lifts you gently, rubbing your back as he waits it out.

It’s all he can do, or all he finds himself able to do because he’s still scared he can only make it worse. So he lets the dissociation take its course until you blink it away and the cotton falls from your ears.

All the sounds of your home creep back into your ears, and you feel the pressure of his hand on your back.

“Hey, precious girl,” he coos, kissing the crown of your head repeatedly as you move closer to him. “Here,” he hands you one of your toggle toys, watching your fingers twist and pull at it. “How do you feel?”

“Better,” you whisper. “More like myself.” Remus nods, sitting with you till you feel like you can be alone for two minutes.

“I’ll be right back.” He comes back into the living room with two mugs of tea, yours is a chamomile lavender honey blend and his is just regular black with a little milk and sugar.

Remus also has a plate balanced on his forearm that’s loaded up with grapes, blackberries and a bit of watermelon.

“Thanks Remus,” you take a sip of your tea and allow your shoulders to drop. “I’m sorry if I scared you.”

He shakes his head, admittedly he was a tiny bit worried, but not scared. He thinks you’ve both created a solid little routine to help them along. “You didn’t dove, how’re your ears feeling?”

“Fine, not like they’re plugged up,” you snatch a grape from the plate. “These are crunchy.” You say happily and Remus nods.

“We can just sit here like this for a while,” he says, kissing your shoulder as he sets the plate in your lap and holding your mug. The lights on the wall cast a glow all over your face, and Remus can’t help himself but get lost in looking at you while you eat, happy to see you perking up a little as you do.

CHARLIE

Honestly I can see Charlie herself being somewhere on the spectrum! So she can relate to you in some way when you're having some struggles. Shes so so accommodating when it comes to your needs, quite literally bending over backwards to make sure the hotel is a safe space for you. Theres likely a sensory room somewhere in the hotel, where you (or really anyone!) Can go to unwind and just vibe. Protective of you, as she is with everyone else she cares about. You.. may have to get her to cool it if things get a little too heated. Warm and smells like apple pie, and I dont know about you guys but that's possibly one of the most pleasing and calming combos

VAGGIE

Very quick to shut things down if someone tries to get on your case for your needs for whatever reason, same goes for anyone who does it without intending to be harmful/doing it unknowingly. Shes your guard dog, and shes going to make sure you're safe mentally and physically. Likely stands trying to choose between different fidgets to pack for an outing trying to determine which one might come more in handy. Packs both. Actually she definitely has a pack somewhere for you that has a bunch of items to carry on you to help you out (water, headphones, ect ect). Despite that she does think you're capable and will step back if her worries cause her to overstep and make you feel bad. Vaggie does tend to have trouble gauging how much effort and feeling into things

ALASTOR

In the nicest way possible, he does not care. Obviously he doesn't care in the "I dont care that you're ND and I'm not going to avoid doing things that trigger you", it's a "I dont care because it is what it is", and besides hes got manners! Sometimes the static ambience around him can be comforting, like white noise.. sometimes he hums or softly plays music if you need something to focus on during an overwhelming moment. However if it makes things worse it's getting cut the second you say something. You're the only person allowed into his radio tower, if you need an escape

LUCIFER

As stated above I headcanon that Charlie is somewhere in the spectrum so he already has an idea of what to do to make things easier and more welcoming for you! Thankfully his home isnt too chaotic and he doesnt usually switch up his routine so if routines mean a lot for you Lucifer is your man! Puts his crafting skills to good use and makes you personalized fidget toys! He loves talking to you but if you need him to be quiet for a while he'll be understanding and work quietly on his ducks. Similarly to his daughter he doesnt let anyone try to make you feel bad for trying to tend to your needs. Though hes less of a pushover/holds his temper a little easier than charlie, but hes still quick to shut anything down

ADAM

In the beginning he can be a little.... how does one say this nicely? Not the best.. hes not at all educated so you're probably going to have to sit him down and find a way to get him to listen. Hes a little misguided when it comes to helping you moving forward but there is a new added effort in there. Takes you away from environments that are too overwhelming for you, or tells everyone to shut the hell up.. which might make things worse thanks to his shouting. He's got the spirit but his methods are not the best. His wings are soft and as long as you dont pluck anything out, he let's you run your fingers through his feathers. Would get sucked into those sensory and/or asmr videos with you

LUTE

I can see her being on the spectrum too tbh but I dont think shes aware, so anytime you try to bring up the possibility of her being ND she kind of just dismisses it. "Everyone does that," mindset. While she doesnt totally understand all of your habits and needs, she still does her best to make sure you're satisfied. She can be callous with others, often causing conflict to those who choose not to listen to an exterminator.. though to heavens citizens what status to exterminators have..? Shrugs. Shes a little.. tense? Harsh? No harsh sounds mean. Shes not used to being tender for someone else, so this is all a learning process for her.. its going to take a while before she grows accustomed to you autism or not.. but shes trying, because she does love you even if shes not used to these feelings!

I am SOOOO sorry, because I do not know much about sensory issues but I did try with this one!

Simon will always try to be there with you if you're freaking out

If you are getting nervous, Simon will quickly pick up on it and take you away from the environment.

Wether it's a bright/overstimulating environment, or just loud area, he will take you away.

He always has some form of toy, or fidget for you to use. It's always there in his pocket.

Simon will always let you hold his hand so you can squeeze it if you get nervous in public, etc.

He respects if all you need in some space by yourself, he will give you your space <3

ILY TOO ANON- anyways sure, but I'm sorry if howdy is ooc (out of character) , I haven't written anything in a while :)

Howdy pillar with a s/o who is very skittish at times

He kinda finds it adorable

You are more then welcome to hold and fidget with any of his arms!

He has fidget toys and anything like that in his shop , but he mostly carries some for you

( fidget toys or adhd toys are for, well adhd but anyone can enjoy them and it helps people with anxiety calm down)

Anything that frightened you or made you skittish is now thrown out the door!

(He may or may not throw wally out IF he's the reason your scared, wally can be..very frightening)

He has a soothing voice so if you want, he can sing lullabies to you so you can calm down :)

He CAN and WILL dropkick anything that scares you. He has multiple legs for a reason.

There's a room in his store that's just filled with just blankets, pillows, fidget toys, sensory toys, weighted blankets, some of your favourite snacks, quite literally anything that may help you

(Said room may have a nintendo.)

Any comfort snacks that help you calm down? Howdys always holding on to them now :)

If you just need a hug, he can carry you with his arms, and continue whatever he was doing with his other arms

If you suddenly get skittish, he will immediately escort you out of wherever you are, and try to comfort you

He always checks up on you

Summary: You're out princess shopping with Henry when suddenly it all gets too much.

The high buzz of the store invades your ears. bright white lights and high stocked shelves. you cling onto Henry's forearm tightly, letting him guide you through the maze of the store.

"Adorable..." Henry mumbles silently to himself loving the way you cling onto him for protection.

You're Focused on playing with the vibrant silver of his watch when you suddenly hear him curse lightly under his breath. making your ears perk up as you look at him with curious eyes.

"I'm sorry Hannah...it looks like they ran out of that bear sippy cup you wanted" he says looking down at you sympathetically.

You can feel your eyes start to water as you fidget with your fingers distractedly. you've been wanting that bear cup for a while now, obsessing over it for weeks.Henry pulls you close to him cupping your face gently brushing your hair in efforts to soothe you.

"Oh hannah it's gonna be okay" he coos. "I promise we'll find it just let me-"

Henry scans the store briefly before landing his gaze on a lazy employee.

"I'll be right back sweetie"

"You gonna be okay all by yourself?"

You nod nervously wanting to be strong for him.You don't like it when you have to be separated from henry's side, especially not in crowded public areas.

"I'll only be a second I promise" He kisses your cheek lovingly.

You see henry stalk off and immediately you feel uneasy but he's still in your line of sight so it's bearable. You clutch onto the stuffed bunny comfort toy Henry brought for you. nuzzling into the soft plush of the fur against your skin. the sensation manages to quell some of your anxiety.

You feel calm, serene almost watching Henry converse with the employee.contently admiring him from afar. that is until a huge cart stocked full of groceries park itself right in front of you.

Visibly startled the steadiness of your breath wavers as Henry disappears from sight. Resisting the urge to panic your eyes look around frantically for a way back to him.

You try escaping the aisle away from the cart with haste, but a family enters in the same way. Bumping into the mother you mutter a sorry apology before trying to maneuver around her children.

Managing to make it out of the aisle and finding yourself right in the middle of the hectic store and all it's inhabitants. Carts zoom by haphazardly as pieces of scrambled conversation get picked up by your scattered mind. the lights seem brighter and the volume of everything is turned up to a thousand it's all too much for you.

Trying to cover the pitiful tears that run down your cheeks, you wipe them away with the sleeve of Henry's hoodie you wore. the scent of him making you miss him terribly.

And the strangers giving you weird looks passing you by only add onto your sobs.

"Hannah!"

You feel Henry call your name, and by the time you turn around you're already face first into his strong chest. his arms lacing themselves around your trembling form.You melt into his warmth clinging onto his shirt with a firm grip.

Henry picks you up not caring who sees. you wrap your arms and legs around him as if on instinct, burying your head into his neck your heart beating vividly.

Henry pulls you aside into an empty aisle making sure no one is around before he starts bouncing you in his arms, cupping a hand to your cheek making you gaze into his beautiful blue eyes.

"Oh honey what happened, Are you okay?" His tone is filled with concern as he looks you over.His caring eyes start to make you feel self conscious causing your lips to quiver as your eyes water.

"Oh Hannah I'm so sorry"

The tears come back, but it's not as painful when he's there to hold you.Henry doesn't say another word. he just holds you tighter to him as he makes his way to the exit.

Leaving the cart right there in the store.

Henry quietly carries you inside. you being half asleep worn out from what happened in the store.Henry kneels onto the bed setting you down on it gently.You sniffle as you hesitantly let go of him,averting your eyes feeling nervous when he stares at you so head on.

And then the tears come again.

"I'm sorry henry..!" you whimper.

"I didn't mean to ruin our day.."

Henry smiles at you lovingly wrapping his arm around your waist pulling you to him "I know love" he squeezes you comfortingly rubbing your back in slow circles. " it's alright Hannah stuff like that happens, I know how easily you can get overwhelmed"

"B-but we left it!- I messed up... A-and we had to leave all cause I I-"

You try to talk but whenever you try to form a sentence it either comes out jumbled or gets blocked by your tears.

"Hey, hey sh shh shh-" Henry pulls you to his chest hugging you tightly "I said it's okay Hannah, come on breathe for me"

You pause trying to calm down, steadying your breath trying to focus on Henry's words and his gentle caresses. Feeling your heartbeat slow Henry pulls away scanning your face. Patiently waiting for you to collect yourself before speaking.

"Think about what you want to say love"

You take a deep breath trying your hardest to concentrate.

"I ruined our trip to the store..." You say quietly.

Henry knows you feel bad when you get overwhelmed. But you can't help it, and even though he reassures you it's okay you still feel some guilt.

Henry sighs deeply before looking at you with all the love in his eyes he can muster."Hannah look at me" He takes a gentle hold of your chin making sure you know he means what he says.

"I only care about you, I don't care what happens as long as my girl is happy and safe"

"I love you honey tears and all"

You wipe away the last of your sadness and cling onto henry, wrapping both arms around him tightly you two sit there holding each other in a comfortable silence.

"Henry?" You ask as you play with his soft chocolate curls.

"What is it baby?" He responds nuzzling into you.

"Can we go cuddle and watch movies "

He just smiles at you charmingly before nodding his head.

"Of course we can hannah, c'mere"

Henry scoops you up in his big strong arms with no intention of letting you go. You giggle as he places kisses all over your face as you two head to the living room.

You both spend the rest of the afternoon cuddled up snuggly on the couch eating all your favorite snacks and watching disney movies.

You nestle into Henry's relaxing presence. His smile and arms around you making everything feel okay again.

All the brothers, dateables too of course, love their little exchange student very much!! They couldn’t think of a reason not to love you, even when you tell them about being autistic.

Lucifer

- He’s so supportive, oh my gosh.

- Upon learning this, he asks you questions about things that bother you or certain triggers (so he can avoid them in the future).

- And if you’re over/under stimulated he’s swooping you up, no matter what, and taking you some place to make it better.

Mammon

- Doesn’t get it at first.

- “Eh?? That’s what everyone does though, ain’t it?”

- He’s about to make a life changing discovery.

- Don’t get me wrong, he’s extremely supportive!

- He’ll listen to you talk about it and even buy you merch from your favorite things (or make it if the fandom is relatively small)!!

- I’d also imagine he hates loud noises as well, so he knows all the quietest places in RAD.

Leviathan

- Oh my gosh.

- This man FREAKS OUT when he finds out, but not in a bad way.

- In fact, he’s over the moon.

- Buys you a bunch of sensory toys! Asmodeus loves physical feelings. :)

-He’s obsessed with the way velvet and silk feels, so expect to see a bunch of things like that lying in a pretty box on your bed.

Beelzebub

- Understands completely.

- Beelzebub has so much compassion for his brothers, despite whatever challenges they may face.

- You’re no different.

- Definitely has a lot of experience when it comes to comforting people (Belphie).

- “Don’t ever be afraid to come to me with any problems.”

- Buys you foods that don’t trigger sensory issues!!!! (and foods you may be really interested in)

- And if any of the other demons at RAD make fun of you.. oh dear.

- They’ll be missing the next day.

Belphegor

- So supportive and patient.

- He’s holding your hand in crowds or just being closer to you if you don’t like being touched and he’s making sure nothing is too much/not enough.

- He would also spoil the hell out of you.

- Buying you your favorite things, sensory things, headphones if you’d like, and comfortable pillows.

-Leo thinks you’re adorable

-All of your little stims and fidget toys

-But a lot of his romantic gestures seem to be off the table

Mikey:

-Mikey puts you first

-He knows everything that you need

-He is so eager to help you, in fact, that sometimes he goes a little overboard

-Every day he gives you a new fidget toy to use

-And he gets very sad if you reject his offer

-(Even though you already have hundreds)

-He tends to treat you like a kid

-Asking how your day’s been, if you need anything

-He cooks you food, drives you everywhere, puts you to bed

-It gets a little annoying sometimes, being treated like that

-But if anyone were to even lay a finger on you, he goes full defensive mode

-God forbid anyone insult you

Donnie:

-As someone who also has autism, he understands your needs

-But he still gets a little frustrated sometimes

-He wants to love you, but you make it a little hard sometimes

-His unexpected hugs from behind often make you jump, which he doesn’t like

-Your need to be alone more often than usual makes him mad

-Whenever you’re stressed or anxious, he tries to calm you down with hugs and kisses, which only makes it worse

-He has fidget toys on hand for you, because he knows those will always calm you down

-He gets mad whenever he has to use them, though

-He doesn’t like that something else has your attention more

-He also doesn’t understand why his love won't calm you down

-Your love and affection will calm him down, so why doesn’t it work the other way around?

-And sure, you may have autism, but so does he

-So why can he be the only “normal” one in the relationship?

- wally is autistic (canonly..) as well so he can relate to how you are a lot! you can even talk to him about your struggles and he'll help as best as he can.

- if you're the type to get sensory overload very often he'll help you either by getting your comfort item whatever that might be of if its from too much noise the fella puts his hands over your ears in an attempt to help.

- he lets you ramble about your current fixation or anything you're really into and have obsessed over for a while.

- depending on how you are , if you're a person who shows little to no expressions he can easily tell how you're feeling (somehow) and if you're in public and when someone asks “ are they mad or..? ” “ oh no , my dear friend here is actually very happy. ”

- if you get any sort of overstimulation his solution is to let you hold his hand and if you need to squeeze it he doesn't mind even if its basically a death grip. sometimes he even brings fidget toys if you need to keep your hands busy.

- if you stim a lot he ends up stimming with you! usually just seeing people stim causes him to stim but if you have a happy stim he'll join in as well just by him being happy or being happy for you.

Handling a panic attack

Peppino: He's all too familiar with panic attacks. He asks first how you feel about physical contact and if it's okay for him to rub your shoulders. He helps you come back to reality. He uses the 54321 method to help you calm down. (If you're not familiar with it, this is a quick explanation.)

Gustavo: He brings you to a quiet place and asks what's wrong. He gives you things you fidget and stim with. He asks if you'd like to pet Brick. He asks if you need space and assures you that he's there if you need anything at all.

BONUS Brick: Brick is very good at sensing emotions. He can tell you're very stressed! He swoops over and rubs against you. He doesn't stop until you pet him. He sniffs your face and tickles you with his whiskers. He gives you lil rat kisses on your nose. He even snuggles up to you. He's a good service rat.

Mr. Stick: He is very worried. He's had a few panic attacks, but he's never seen someone else have one. He asks what's wrong and if there's anything he can do to help you. He isn't the greatest, but he does his best.

Pepperman: His sensitive and sympathetic side comes out. For once, he's worried about someone other than himself. He's not too sure what to do, so he sits beside you and tries to get you to talk about what happened. He speaks very softly.

The Vigilante: Dad friend. He removes you from the situation and takes you somewhere quiet. He gets you some water and a snack. He asks if you want to pet a cow or Mort. He gets Mort, who acts all goofy and makes you laugh. Once you're calm, he asks you what happened.

The Noise: He panics a little bit, too. He's not sure whether you're sensory seeking or avoiding, so he takes you somewhere quiet but gives you a bunch of his favorite stim toys. He leaves you alone and checks on you after a while.

Noisette: She knows exactly what to do. She takes you away from the situation. She gives you something to stim or fidget with. She reminds you to breathe and has you take deep breaths with her. She does the 54321 method. She gives you some water and a blanket.

Fake Peppino: He can sense something is wrong. He pokes you, but you don't respond. Then he nudges your shoulder, but you still don't respond to it. He thinks soft physical touch might help, so he does things that make him happy. He strokes your hair, rubs your shoulder, and nuzzles his head up to you.

Pizzahead: He's handled a few panic attacks before. He brings you to a comfortable place and has you lay down with a soft blanket. He brings you some water and a free Pizzaboy plushie. He sits besides you and waits until you're ready to talk.

Pillar John: He's incredibly concerned. He's not too sure what's going on with you. He gives you a good classic Pillar John Bear Hug™. He puts you down softly, kneels down to your level, and asks how else he can help.

Gerome: He gently holds your arm and takes you somewhere quiet. He asks if you want some water or a snack. He gets you to talk it out with him. His voice is soft, and his tone is caring.

I think im objectively right to say that a few of the ghouls have oral fixations and those who have it cope with it differently (whether it good or bad coping).

Dew and Swiss both smoke and vape. they all smoke weed, even if only sometimes, so I'm not counting that into the mix.

Dew has a tendency to bite at his fingers and claws so he does his best to find other things to occupy them with. fidget toys, playing his guitar, cooking (I am a firm believer that Dew is Okay in the kitchen!).

Swiss chews on anything he can, even if he shouldn't. the hems of his shirts, blankets, pens. he got in trouble once for chewing up Aethers favorite wooden spoon (he gifted him a new one from their time in South America).

Mountain chews at his lips and cheek, especially when deep in thought or in a project. the inside of his mouth is noticeably scarred from the amount of times he's done it. he also, like Dew, chews at his fingers.

Sunshine likes to explore textures, even if it's non-edible textures. she's found her favorite to be water bottles and silicone. she steals Phantom's sensory necklaces from time to time (see at end). she'll chew(nibble) on the necklace with her front teeth because it makes her feel like a rabbit eating.

I don't think Rain has much of a fixation but he WILL bite anything. "I just wanna see how resistant it is!" he will say, after biting Cirrus' arm. thankfully he gets a Look right before lunging into a bite so they can stop him in time. They've also learned that he will bite less if he's got a hard candy in his mouth, so they will always stock up on those.

and finally, Phantom is like Swiss in where he'll chew on anything, but this time he will CHEW. on ANYTHING. couches, bedposts, metal forks. there's a noticeable chew mark on the coffee table from when he was first summoned and they didn't know better. but they found a solution quickly; sensory chew necklaces. they have a couple lying around in each room and one is always on him, so the ruining of furniture has dropped drastically.

because of these fools they also have an abundance of dog chew toys and animal bones for them to chew at. it's not uncommon specifically to hear a muffled squeak squeak from the greenhouse. Swiss and Phantom fuck up the bones. Dew and Rain like to just hold both toys and bones in their mouth. Sunshine WILL try and tear the toys apart.

Miguel O’Hara Headcanons: dating a gn!autistic!reader

➼ As with my Hobie post, these headcanons are based off some struggles I deal with myself as an autistic person, what my friends with autism face, and what i have seen and researched online. Autism is a spectrum and remember that everyone has different needs and levels of support, I just tried to include what i know in this post!

Has set aside a room in Spider HQ that only the two of you have access to. It has a sensory swing, blackout curtains, a huge tv for your comfort shows, and a whole area just full of blankets, pillows, and stuffed animals (if you like them that is)

Much like Hobie, will throw anyone out of the room for you. And throw anything at anyone too.

"Hey mi amor, cover your ears for just a second" Miguel spoke quietly to you. Once he saw that your ears were covered, he gave a sarcastic smile to the offending spider person before tearing out a nearby console and hurling it at them

Even though he’s not at home often, his room is fitted with another sensory swing for you, so you can go there to decompress as well

He has Lyla track your heart rate closely to try and predict meltdowns so he can get you away from busy places and into a safe zone that doesn't have any triggers for you

If you’re non-verbal, low-verbal, or selectively mute, he has your watch fitted with a keyboard with text-to-speech so it’s easier for you to communicate

Everywhere already has soft lighting since Miguel’s eyes are sensitive to light as well. No dreaded overhead lights here. Rule number one: never use the big light

He personally makes sure that your safe foods are available in the cafeteria at HQ, even if it doesn’t fit the theme of the menu

All around HQ there’s a secret stash of fidget toys in every room

If there’s a spider person making fun of you for being autistic? Well they’re never heard from again or seen around the office. That and now every spider person is getting educated about autism, ADHD, so on and so forth as part of their training. They refuse? Out of the society. Miguel doesn’t stand for ableism here

Though let’s be honest he probably already has those like training modules that work gives you on different disabilities, transphobia, homophobia, racism, etc, and how to be respectful, just because there are so many spider people of different backgrounds and he won’t stand for intolerance

He carries around earplugs for you in case he needs to scream at a 15-year-old

Always asks if it’s okay if he can kiss you/hug you/hold your hand just in case you’re in a ‘no touch’ mood

Buys you trinkets from your special interests in each universe he visits (like shark plushies, maybe something from a tv series, cd from a band, etc)

Ok. For the DA AU, what exactly happened for Skull to be kept under restraint?

His original purpose was for kids with disabilities or sensory issues. Softspoken, gentle, slow moving- he would be big and cuddly but simple and comforting... not as hyperactive and loud as Red and not as small child/naptime-focused as Sans. Four arms allowed him to carry overwhelmed children, or have one kid always holding his hand for comfort, while still having room to sign to others if need be. He came equipped with speakers to play gentle calming music, he could connect to the playroom's lights and turn them up/down, he could turn parts of his hands or fingers into fidget toys. He deeply attached to the children he cared for, just like Sans and Red.

Then he received an injury to his head. It's the same injury that made one of his eyelights go out. He was already a risk, already getting aggressive with staff and adults like Sans- but his injury exacerbated the issue, making his aggression more intense and with less warning. Given his size and strength, that was starting to become a problem.

A staff member who shouldn't have been in the daycare tried to pick up a kid. In a fit of rage, he attacked them. The sight of him attacking someone (understandably) terrified the children... when trying to calm them down, a frantic Skull accidentally nicked one of the kids in the arm with the end of his claw, drawing blood.

Now... attacking staff, they could forgive. But at that point, regardless of his intent or the lightness of the cut, Skull had just injured a child- Red and Sans took control. They won’t allow him out around children anymore, no matter how hard he fights.

Sans looks after Skull’s kids, now.

Yuu is Autistic! Pt 4

✨Feat. NRC Faculty; Dire Crowley, Divus Crewel, Mozus Trein, Ashton Vargas and Sam✨

They/Them pronouns for reader. Reader is referred to as Yuu.

Let’s be honest, he doesn’t care.

Half this campus is autistic, that’s not his problem. Plus, if he’s not doing anything about the traumatized kids Overblotting he’s definitely not doing anything about this. Anytime Yuu brings up something related to their autism like needing fidget toys or struggling with school, Crowley just skirts around the subject and blah blah blahs about how he’s still very busy trying to find them a way home. How selfish to ask for more of him when he’s doing his best!

And then he gets a smack on the head and a very stern scolding from Crewel to do better. So now Crowley will, begrudgingly, try to be more accommodating for Yuu and other autistic students by doing the bare minimum. How minimum? Wearing a rainbow infinity button and letting the public know he cares about his “mentally challenged” students. How kind of him.

One day he got guilted by Crewel into taking Yuu shopping for clothes. He happened to notice a big, fluffy stuffed yellow teddy bear in a store. Yuu likes soft things right? Something about good sensory? Eh, why not. He bought it for Yuu and the way they squealed and rubbed their face into the soft fuzz was actually rather cute… What a nice thing he did! How humble and kind he is!

“Prefect! I have purchased you an abundance of trinkets for your mental stimulation. Am I not the kindest for tending to your needs? … No I did not buy it because of Professor Crewel! And I would appreciate if you didn’t complain to him about me when you don’t get your way! … HOW DO YOU KNOW ABOUT THE DIVOR—“

Crewel catches on pretty quick. Yuu flinches and covers their ears whenever he cracks his whip and when they’re frustrated they suck their thumb or their fingers twitch. Sometimes he witnesses the more destructive behaviors like lip biting or scratching.

He knows some of their stress comes from a certain birdbrain neglecting them so Crewel takes matters into his own hands. Yuu doesn’t like how their uniform feels? No problem, he will personally tailor a uniform that they’re comfortable in. Oh and no more twitchy fingers. He gives them little toys they can stim quietly with, like clay or a squishy ball. If he needs to get the attention of bad pups in class with his whip, Crewel gives Yuu a warning so they can cover their ears and not be startled.

On days Yuu comes to class looking like they’re in a bad mood or on the verge of tears, Crewel makes quick work getting the rest of the class started on the lesson for the day then sits with Yuu to make sure they’re alright before helping them get started too.

Not everyone knows this, but whenever Yuu is having a panic attack around him, Crewel will take them somewhere quiet, wrap them in his coat and give them a tight hug to help them calm down. If Yuu isn’t into hugs, he’ll just hold their hands. Crowley failed to be a good guardian for this child that has nobody to depend on. Crewel cares about his pup and he’ll always be there for them.

“Sorry for the wait, pup. Are you alright? … Ok, no tears. Here, play with this. Take a breather and we’ll get started once you calm down. And don’t worry, I’ll have a word with headmage about shrugging his responsibilities off on you… Would you like to come by and play with the dogs after school? It’s been a while since they’ve seen you.”

He had a feeling there was something… wrong with Yuu but didn’t understand what. There are times Trein sees Yuu drawing in their notebook instead of paying attention yet when he calls them out they immediately repeat what he said in his lecture almost word for word. Their bad posture is distracting too, it feels like no matter how many times he tells them to straighten up they just can’t remember it.

It’s not until Trein asks Crewel what’s going on with Yuu, since he really is the closest thing to their legal guardian at this point, that he understands they have a neurological disorder. That’s why their memory is so strange. Trein may be old, but he’s willing to learn how to support Yuu. He managed to raise his daughters mostly on his own after all. Crewel does show him some of Cater’s Autism Awareness posts just in case.

Trein doesn’t like when Yuu gets loud with their stimming because it can be disruptive. So, if they get too loud, he’ll just casually put Lucius in their lap and continue with class like it’s nothing. Yuu gets a soft, cuddly friend to help them focus and Lucius gets free pets! It’s a win for everyone! Except Idia, he wants to pet the kitty too but Trein said he’s too dirty.

Honestly, with what Trein knows now he’s starting to notice more autistic tendencies in his other students too cough ace & deuce cough.

“Child, please try and quiet down a little. Are you overstimulated? Here, you and Lucius sit outside for a minute and come back in once you’ve calmed down, alright? Do me a favor and give his tail a brush while you’re at it. Silence, all of you, pay no mind to them, eyes on me!”

As far as Vargas is concerned, there’s nothing physically wrong with Yuu so there’s no reason for them to be struggling with Physical Ed.

He tends to single Yuu out a lot. Yelling at them for putting headphones on during class, scolding them for their bluntness, it’s a huge mess. Until one day where Vargas lost his patience and literally snatched Yuu’s headphones off their ears to blow his whistle and scold them. Yuu screamed out loud, covered their ears and dropped on the ground crying. Ace almost started a fight with Vargas over it but luckily Deuce broke it up and explained the situation while Trey comforted Yuu.

It’s not music they’re listening to? The headphones are meant to muffle loud noises because they have sensitive ears? Seeing how distressed Yuu is, crying while Trey is hugging them tightly, Vargas starts to feel terrible. He feels even worse once Crewel gives him more details. He vows from then on to do better.

Now Vargas checks if Yuu has their headphones on before blowing the whistle. If there’s a work out/exercise they don’t want to do, he’ll talk with them to see if they can come to a compromise.

“Got a second, kiddo? I never got the chance to apologize for my behavior towards you. I can’t say I 100% get what’s wrong with your brain but I’ll do my best to understand it. Now go on and do your laps! A-At your own pace of course! You’ve got this, I believe in you!”

Yeah, he knows. Every time Yuu comes into the shop they stare at and touch everything that looks shiny or interesting for almost an hour, buy a sugary treat and then leave. They do this a couple times a week.

Sam actually helped Deuce select a pair of headphones for Yuu. Specifically, a pair he already knew they would love. It was their favorite color and they could listen to music with them too. Sam was so pleased to see Yuu wearing the headphones the next time they visited the store.

The first time he saw Yuu, nervously biting their thumb and struggling to ask what snacks they could buy for cheap his heart just about shattered. Needless to say, Sam will be joining Crewel in beating up scolding Crowley for his negligence. But first, he’s cooking this baby a meal, Yuu’s not going hungry on his watch, damnit! Now Sam makes Yuu lunchboxes every day with their favorite safe meals along with some candy for sugar cravings.

If Yuu is black/poc Sam does their hair for them. He styles it in ways that’ll look nice and won’t bother or irritate them. If Yuu stims with their hair, Sam will leave some strands out they can play with. He loves hair care days with Yuu more than anything.

“Hello, my little imp! Oh dear, have you been biting your fingers again? C’mere, let me wrap those up. Did you enjoy lunch today? … Cher, there’s no need to thank me! I adore cooking for you! By the way, I’ve got your favorite sweets back in stock! You get a special family discount!”

Fuck it Tumblr ate my ask AGAIN so I'm writing down my Idia x Riddle hurt/comfort headcanons here! This is for you anon!

Despite the obvious proud and well known family names and smarts they both have sever low self-esteem and often feel unworthy being by the other who heavily second guess each other over anything date related

Idia second guesses himself worthy so much and still struggles with the idea someone like Riddle wants him

While Riddle second guess himself being worthy purely thanks to his mother (whom me and my friend name Pamela as a twisted honor of Pamela Voorhees from Friday the 13th, you're welcome)

Add these issues with issues and trauma from childhood and PTSD and we got lots of problems they need to work on together

There are times they argue and sometimes they do get ugly and sometimes they need a breather apart, and on those days Idia and Riddle feel worst and think the other hates him now

They both suffer from bad eating habits that will borderline become a disorder if not noticed in time, with Riddle with stress of perfection and with Idia just forgetting to care on his health

Idia's anxiety and depression is also a main of Idia's problems of holding Riddle back in his mind

A few times they get invited to a party at Scarabia and Idia's anxiety will kick in hard so Riddle leaves with him

I sometimes headcanon they're both on the autism spectrum but neither are diagnosed for reasons

With that said, they both have perfect sensory fidgets and stim toys ready to go for the other as well as noise canceling headphones

The first song most in Idia's head about how he thinks he's not best for Riddle

Second could be both Riddle or Idia but I mostly see Riddle in the beginning of his crush on Idia and the internal issues he got from it

Their self-esteem issues do bring issues but they still cling to each other after a fight or crying session

They're both heard each other cry in their sleep from many things from trauma to what happened in STYX

Riddle one time cried over a sleeping Idia thinking back at STYX and how lonely he was

They both have really bad days of emotions and kind of just... lean against each other clinging or holding hands and just crying together

How Riddle comforts Idia is freshly cleaned blankets and pillows, video games or his favorite anime ready, LED lights set on Idia's comfort color, and pizza and soda ordered for a night in and cuddles

How Idia comforts Riddle after a bad day is cozy blankets, hot cocoa or tea, cake or tart from the store those if he feels for it he'll try to make them himself, Riddle's favorite audio book playing or a show he likes, and if really needed... hedgehogs to snuggle and coo at

During Idia's graduation he helped Riddle get a restraining order against his mother and Riddle moved in with Idia in an apartment during that break, far from their hometowns but easy to visit if needed
