(there will still be a post tomorrow to keep on track)#The original 3 panel comic idea was fine but the point of this new schedule was to take time to push myself a bit more.#I was taking a look back through some comic artists I felt inspired by #and I really loved how Lynda Barry fills her gutters with patterns and doodles!#Obviously I'm not going as absolutely wild with it as she does but it was a great exercise!#I truly think the gutters are the most important and most overlooked part of any comic. There's lots going on in that space.#It's the same with timeskips. The implied movement between moments that we don't see changes depending on how wide that gap is #You're here for the funny tags so here's some that ties this time talk together:#I think LWJ was thinking about that second note from day 2 but it took him 7 days of hazing to commit it to paper.#I think he sends it a day later and immediately regrets it. Chasing down the messenger and everything.#You know if something actually happened to his brother he would never ever forgive himself for putting the bad vibes out there.#Third time skip was the hardest because there was so many possible flavours of jokes here. Day 8/9 was a personal favourite.#day 14 was also funny (week by week). I think the debate on 'how long does lwj take to catch feelings' is more or less:#'how long does it take for him to arrive at a particular stage of grief and yearning (and awareness of it all)#This is a symphony. There is an act by act structure. Every day he is fighting to keep his old sensibilities. He is losing so badly.#(I'll be returning to the main comic soon but there is more of this AU to come!)

i associate the song on the wing by owl city with soriku for some reason, and this is my attempt to explain why

definitely my most ambitious piece of artwork in literal years, esp considering i know next to nothing about composition/layout/typesetting/etc

its messy and rough and theres a million things that could/should be cleaned up, but i need to just it post already and stop messing with it before it disappears into my drafts forever bc of my OCD

Christ a-fuckin-live, yes, I do think all these redundancies are really necessary! It's not even that many redundancies, are you fucking joking, I'm not asking for a full and proper PACE plan (yet! not yet but oh you best bet it's coming, you idiot bitches give me a contingency inch and I will take a save-your-ass mile) it is literally training one extra person for each task. One! Do you know how close to the bone we are already running. Do you know the cold sweat that haunts me. One single solitary contingency! I am here begging bare-bellied for the meanest of scraps and you're interrupting me. You are swinging over the gaping abyss of absolute moronity and as I hand-tie the slimmest of career safety nets beneath you, you argue with me!

Every month we voluntarily take our entire system down and hard reset it, because the tooth-grinding inconvenience of a controlled descent is better than the comminuted fractures of a natural crash, but if you would rather the broken bones, that can certainly be arranged. Every day someone asks me to hunt down direly-needed information, and I burrow weasel-like through digital snowbanks until I find the problems and crack their spines between my teeth. Would you like to see how I do it. I have built checks for unreturnable queries into my daily routine, do you think that is a standard practice? It would literally be easier for me to let them break and frame a different one of you for each failure than to continue maintaining them all. If you really want to know about most efficient use of time, I will show you the math. It will look very like the forked end of a crowbar, and I will gladly give you a thorough breakdown! That said,

There's not many things that unsettle me about myself, but the fact that I have a mysterious six inch long scar on my foot and no clue of why it's there is definitely one of those things.

#lore drop time. discussion of injuries in the tags but nothing graphic #it's pretty faint. definitely healed over a long time ago. healed from what? no clue.#i know where all the other scars came from #i have one right under my eyebrow from falling into the edge of a table as a kid at my aunt's wedding lol #got one from when i accidentally kneeled down on and subsequently broke a christmas ornament #several dog scars from vetsci/training/honey getting me with her FEROCIOUS HUSKY CLAWS #tons of tiny needle scars (ehlers danlos- everything scars. including blood draws)#a few from just being outdoors in various capacities #tons of mosquito bites i never left alone #pencil graphite #some ~miscellaneous~ ones #but the foot? no clue. my largest scar and no idea of where it's from.#for a while i had one from a snakebite but that one healed over and i'm sad about it :(#it wasn't like. fang marks. just a triangular friction mark that wouldn't heal bc a rat snake tried to take a piece out of me #he was mad that i wouldn't let him come in through my kitchen window.#that's a whole other story though. i had friends literally pulling into the driveway while i was being bitten by a ratsnake #that was fun to explain lol. walking up to them like HI ONE SECOND I HAVE A SNAKE.
