another watercolour style pic! these are pretty time intensive (you can't copy paste in rps) the program i do these in isn’t particularly intuitive, but they're pretty therapeutic. speedpaint included

there was some interest in a tutorial as well, so i've put a brief explanation under the readmore

hello hello! i'll just dive straight into the latter half because the first half is all pencil sketching. realistic paint studio has a wealth of options available to you and i encourage you to experiment. i, however, use three

the goal is to build layers. to do this, because of how the brush engine works, you're actually going to have to split your workflow across individual layers. if you're the type of person used to working on one, you'll have to let that go for now

so what i'll do is haphazardly mark the areas i want shaded with the brush i marked in that first picture, a whole colour block

then go back in with that second blending brush and light pressure

then, from there, make a new layer on top and repeat the process, which is how i get those dried down watercolour effects. if you try and do it on the same layer where the paint is already put down, it makes a mess

see what i'm going for? it's not complicated, just a little time consuming. doing that initial grey wash helps put down texture. i do that until i'm satisfied, then take it into another program for touchups and a gradient map. hope this helps somebody!

I love the Hoshidan festival of Bonds (the jp exclusive dlc for fates) because you get some really funny details for the child units based on their mothers.

Some of my favourite include

Kagero!Ophelia seeing Lissa in a dream. Her description is accurate and Ophelia says she look like Elise.

Orochi!Soleil inheriting Orochi's future sight as gaydar. Soleil ignores it and goes after girls she knows will not respond to her positively. Orochi!Soleil really said "This sign can't stop me, because I can't read."

The men in Selena!Nina's day dreams all become Tsunderes, Nina blames Selena for this.

Oboro!Nina assumes her parents do bondage.

Azura!Soleil still can't sing. Apparently Azura agrees to help her, using a technique that involves putting chopsticks and Dango into her mouth. I still have no idea how this is supposed to help.

Takumi!Shigure points out how weird it is to marry your sister, even if you're not related.

Odin!Shigure also has the brand.

Odin!Kana is never mentioned as having a brand.

Ophelia!Kana however does have a brand.

Felicia!Soleil is worse at getting girls because she fucks up at the worst times.

Had an epiphany that I’m inflicting on all the rest of you.

Miles Edgeworth left that note because he was trying to fake his own death for the Police/Prosecutor’s Department specifically. He expected Gumshoe to let it slip to Phoenix within the week.

Unfortunately, not only was Gumshoe better at keeping it secret than he expected, but Phoenix was too broken up over everything to realize there was something to press him on.

I've got a million different ideas on how a Spangel s5 relationship could get started but regardless of how they get there I always have the same idea of how they go public

Team Angel are having one of their Stop Eating Babies meetings with one of their evil clients and its going badly, like these guys will not even consider budging on eating those babies and they're being rude about it on top of everything else and Spike's eventually like good god Angel this is a waste of bloody time can I just kill them? and the rest of the Fang Gang are like fuck here we go, Angel and Spike shouting match, there goes the meeting. But Angel just looks at Spike and looks at the Chief Baby Eater and very calmly says "my lover would like to kill you. any reason I should stop him?" and the gang are like 👀👀👀 and the baby eaters are like 👁👁 and Spike's like 😃 until Angel looks at him then he's like 😎

(the baby eaters are cowed by the sheer force of yaoi and the day is saved)

I love the way you did elliots goofy-ass drunk sprite too its so, so fuckign good all the way down. its so cool to see what you're able to accomplish and add with (what im guessing is) the same pixel dimensions and perimeters nstuff as the original sprites

thanks! working with the default 16x32 dimensions is certainly a challenge. i dont know if you could change the sprite size nowadays but when i started on this way back when, the content packer didnt even exist so youd have to re-pack everything back into XNBs lol...

the first sprite i did was actually harvey's, because i wanted to make sure the format/style i settled on could handle all the tricky edge cases and he had glasses AND a tie AND a mustache. if i could fit in those three things then everything else would fall into place.

my files for this have always been in disarray since i kept picking it up and putting it back down, and i can barely find the stuff i already worked on, but heres a screencap of some of the villagers i was working on back in 2018

still plenty of things i need to fix or figure out or redo (palette adjustments and then some).

i wanted to keep their relative heights but because i made everyone's heads bigger to fit a whole face in, it makes the shorter women look like they got goofy bobble heads... one of the things i gotta look into is to see if theres a way to make that look less weird or if i gotta just make them taller. maybe i'd have to make the guys taller to compensate? its a lot of work and it definitely made me understand why nobody's really done something of this scale lol
