ZOSAN FIC REC

Here is some of my fave zosan fics. Some of these I read years ago and so I don't fully remember what theyre about but they we're good enough that I still have strong emotional attachments when I see the name. Most of them are things I've read recently. Literally all I do all day is homework and have an app tts fanfics to me like an audio book so there's quite a few of recs here. I am not the best at summeries but just trust me bro these are GOOD SHIT. I only provide the best. What I consider a good fic: - Takes place in the one piece world (I don't like modern aus) - Characters stay in character or if they do have changes from their canon portrayal there is a justifiable reason from within the story. - Solid story telling and arcs (even the shorter fics) - The Zosan dynamic is kept mostly how it is in canon they fight and bicker. (I know some like when they're soft with eachother like a loving married couple. You won't find much of that here) - Some of these have pervy sanji, que nose bleeds and ogling. With that out of the way here's the list!! Now to my fave zosan fic of all time and ironically enough the only fic taking place in a modern setting: Life is fine series. TW: Drug abuse, heavy angst, depression I have reread this twice and forced a friend to read it too. It is so amazing not just for the zosan but for the genuinely good story telling. You follow zoro reeling from his sudden loss of relationship with Sanji and falling down a...Well uh, path. It's fucked it's dark it's depressing and its fucking riviting. Alot of the time reading this you're just like WHY DID SANJI LEAVE HIM WHAT IS GOING ON??? Honestly I need to reread this again. This was just so good and cute. I appreciate watching zoro appreciate sanji. They take care of eachother but in a way where theyre both still them yeah know? I appreciate how sanji is written letting himself be vulnerable but understanding that he's always gonna be crass cause it's just a part of who he is.

Part Timer By 8ball Sanji really, really doesn't want to give Zoro a job at his restaurant. Zoro doesn't really even want to work there in the first place, but, well, there’s this thing with Sanji, and this thing with feelings and the whole thing is pretty damn stupid all together. Zeff just wants grandkids. He’s too old for this bullshit anyways. I am sure everyone knows 8ball very well they're like zosan famous but still just in case this one is really fucking good. Also read this 3 years ago so I don't remember much but I consider this a zosan classic. Onto the rated R Grand Buffet by asyndese Drunk fic!! If there was one thing Zoro knew, it was that you could always trust Sanji's inclinations to do a beautiful 180 as soon as he was drunk. Luckily, Zoro was more than equipped to handle it. Ok this is 152k long its pretty insane. It regoes over the arcs so throughly so carefully that I literally had to question my memory because I havent experienced alot of these arcs in a while (it's one of the reasons im rewatching one piece). I will say despite how amazing and well written this is I had a hard time comprehending sometimes. now I was sick at the time of reading this so that might be why but sometimes the way things were phrased felt like yoda talking. I think it's just me though. I'm not used to big words :( And thats a wrap!! These arent even all the ones I wanted to include I have at least 20 more off the top of my head but I'll save that for another day. I hope you find joy in these fics Like i did I'll def do another one of these as cause I didnt even touch my sanji centric fics or germa 66 or just in general the best sanji fanfic writers. (Mentioned some of them like 8ball, thousand sunny and donuts and coffee.) Best of luck to yall and let me know what you think!

leaving a lil rant here :]

I love Tim and his ships sm. Me personally, I only really ship TimKon. Those two are perfect for eachother and have so much clear queer coding that it’s crazy, and they have dialogue that’s just. gay shaped.

I also get TimBart, I don’t ship it romantically but I get why people do!! Tim and Bart are close as well, and the balance they get between ‘depressed tired wet cat’ and ‘living breathing embodiment of adhd’ is great.

I also get TimBartKon, they’re a trio. They are always a trio, so many people like to bring up how TimKon has so much coding and one of the big examples they use is when Tim tried to clone Kon. You know who else he tried to clone? Bart.

The only Tim ship I don’t get is TimBern, or any ship involving those two. When Bernard first appears, he’s Tim’s bully. He actively makes fun of tim and puts him down and then that character is forgotten about until Tim comes out as bi, then they just rework his character and go “haha guys this is his boyfriend not bully ygs are crazy” and just forget about all the bad stuff Bernard did? Reworking a character is great and all but, it just feels a bit weird and out of place for me. There’s always going to be that certain toxicity for TimBern, at least for me.

okay, im gonna start off by saying you have all the right to not ship them, and im not here to defend timbern as a ship. im here to defend BERNARD DOWD.

first thing bernard does is give tim advice about teachers, and he clearly says they're gonna be good friends.

if bernard was a bully, tim wouldn't hang around him so much. besides, i hate it when people place tim as a helpless little boy who would get bullied. he has put himself in situations where he looks weak on purpose to keep his identity safe, but he's not a victim at all. tim is a social butterfly because he's really good at masking and reading people.

not to mention, both bernard and darla push tim a lot because they're trying to get him to open up and be closer to them, but he keeps pushing them away. tim is a professional liar.

and when tim has to quit robin and start hanging out with normal people, he invites bernard over.

and bernard is acting relatively normal, and he wants to play video games and talk about how hot tim's stepmom is.

bernard is a normal teenager who has no idea one of his friends is the hero he's so obsessed with. he even shows concern for robin dying and makes up an entire conspiracy theory about batman havin a robin orphanage. you can tell he's afraid of robin being gone for real because at this point they haven't seen robin in months bc tim retired.

i dont know what about all of these interactions gave you the vibe that he's a bully because all i see is a normal teenager teasing his friends and being jealous tim gets more bitches.

im not saying that bernard was never mean or weird around tim, but he definitely wasn't actively bullying tim.

bernard is obnoxious and cocky, yes. but thats just because they wrote him as a real person. he's the school's chameleon, maybe even a little bit of a loser, too. he knows everyone but keeps a safe distance so that he doesn't get pushed into a box. im not sure if, at this point, he was already in a cult or being indoctrinated, but when we see his parents and the dowd home in tim drake: robin that just doesn't look right.

also homie talk about "forgetting all the bad things bernard did" (which in my opinion is none but okay lets follow that logic) everyone forget about all the bad things batman did to tim, he was not a kind and loving mentor, he was cruel to both tim and steph. we forget that batman was kind of an asshole to damien in the beginning. all those things are forgotten for the sake of the batfam.

in conclusion: we're just so used to the idea that superheroes can only ever form strong friendship bonds by having near death experiences together that we forget that the secret identifies exist and that the people who know them by their legal name also means a lot to them. after all, these people are the reason why they're heroes.

I love thinking abt the teens and the corroded coffin boys forging something new and beautiful together.

Eddies Boys were a little suspect about Steve harrington, really eddie at first but quickly understood the Steve harrington who did Tommy Hagans bidding is as good as dead. Someone completely new covered in scars on the inside and out. And this new Steve is hopelessly inlove with their friend. Endlessly adores their friend.

But it’s not just Steve. It’s all of them.

Jonathan’s never really had a friend group. A life long loner, not exactly by his own choice. But when Steve invited him to hang out with Eddie and Eddie’s friends (“it not third wheeling man garreth and Jeff are gonna be there. Come on it’ll be fun, free weed. Since when do you turn down free weed?”) and the boys like Jonathan. Except him quirks and all. They’re cool with him. They like his presence. Call him without the pretense of group activities just to talk shit and catch up. He’s never had that before and its nice.

And everything that went down trauma bonded Chrissy to eddie, Steve and Robin style. And Steve is endlessly understanding and even happy to have the girls company.

Steve knows what it’s like to fall from hawkins social grace and he’s more than happy to hold Chrissy’s hand the whole way down.

She falls right into a group of proud weirdos who accept her as is, completely and totally, no questions asked, no need to posture, hide, mask or change.

And Jeff is like, always cooking or baking something, which is just great for Chrissy.

And of corse if Chrissy’s around Steve’s gonna bring robins around. Because he always likes having his Robs around poor chrissy is stuck with them and their weird dude shit alone so that’s not fair.

And those two? Well Steve didn’t expect it but it makes sence. The two of them are his and Eddie’s bookends. Of corse they’re eachothers too.

Stealth! Garreth who is indeed gay as the day is long, but god kmows having a ‘girlfriend’ makes it a lot easier to stay under anyone’s radar. Him and Robin take good care of eachother like that.

But if chrissy and Robin are over they’ve gotta invite nance too, they can’t leave her out. Even Jonathan’s there for shit sake, we’ve gotta call nance.

Nancy hasn’t really had girl friends since barb. And no one can ever fill that hole but shit, if chrissy and Robin don’t help a little bit.

In the midst of the last 4 years of bullshit the parties social lives have gone to the dogs. They’ve lost all functional human social skills and only hang out with each other. So it’s nice to have other people too, people who aren’t completely deranged and damaged to keep them in check.

Idk I’m just rlly into that concept.

I don’t care if you ship Lunter. I like Huntlow. That’s my opinion. No, im not gonna change it coz you think so. Have your opinion, just don’t go barking at me.

In my OPINION: (see the word opinion)-(you can have ur own)

HUNTLOW/WINTER: bestest ship. Works well. They complete eachother and only have a 1 and 1/2 (approx) age difference, which is pretty normal for teens. My personal favourite. Very cute, fluffy and makes u have the fuzzies. They have a good chance of long lasting relationship.

LUNTER: Lunter would work. Lunter is undeniably a great relationship. Only 2 year age gap (approx), also normal teen age. They go well together. But I headcannon them as siblings. HEADCANNON. So for me, Lunter is sweet home Alabama.

*EDIT: I no longer headcannon Lunter as siblings but I do think they they see each other as siblings.

GUNTER: Look, ship what you want but the age difference is too much for me, 4 years, isn’t a lot, but while in teenage years, it’s a bit weird. Maybe when they’re older, like in their 20’s, but as teens? Not so great. They’re closer to brothers. They would support each other. Good relationship.

HUNTRIC/GOLDRIC: Objectively, there is nothing wrong with it. They’d probably get along super well. Same age. But they haven’t even met. And along with my ‘Luz and Hunter Siblings’ headcannon, it would be a brother-in-law, so also quite incest.

AMITER: They would fight a bit, both having competitive attitudes and lots and lots of trauma. All the characters have trauma but I think Amity and Hunter as a couple would overthrow the trauma scale. Also I’m a Lumity person, so Amiter just doesn’t work for me.

HUNTLOWDRIC: um. Imma have to go with a no. Nothing wrong with it except the fact: Hunter and Edric have never met, Willow has trauma with Amity despite making it up, dating her brother is a little weird, and again it would all revolve back to the siblings thing.

*EDIT: no sibling thing

SKARA AND/OR VINEY X HUNTER: Both of them would be compatible with him, but I headcannon Viney as Lesbian. Skara, she’d be fine. If Willow didn’t exist she’d probably be what I’d ship Hunter with.

VINEARA: Very goods. I likes. Viney x Skara is good, but not my fav Viney ship. Skara sits with bat boy.

VINEMIRA: Best Viney ship. Viney and Emira. The lebanons. Lesbeans. Lesbiabians. Women lovers. Both headcannoned as lesbiansss.

LUMITY: yes. Shows main ship. Cannon. Works well. Help each other. Just yes.

GUSTHOLOMULE: not a popular ship, but I quite enjoy it. Matt is gay af. I think it’s a cool ship.

GUS X BRIA: no. I don’t- why- why. Why is this… I don’t get it.

DARIUS X ALADOR: look I gotta say I love it. I just love it. But it would be kind of awkward, as then amity and hunter and (headcannoned) Luz and hunter would be siblings lol.

dennis’ shirt in gets romantic . do you remember hoodiegate. blue and arguably stripey (simply because of how material works) a core emotional dennis motif. but these aren’t bold stripes. it’s The material that makes it seem stripey, all blended together, unending stripes, you can’t tell where one ends and another beings, it’s continuous, but still landscape. you don’t know where he is emotionally, and he doesn’t either. just come back from north dakota. pretending everything’s the same. knowing everything’s different. macs out. and he left. and came back. there are blue stripes.

then THE blue stripe dennis emotional shirt. big and bold. it’s got a different neckline than break up’s shirt but it’s essentially the same pattern. following the narrative of the episode. dennis is out (of the plan)… but he won’t leave. hearing mac set up dee and greg. the wink. confusion and then acceptance. “what do you mean the plan is in motion for me, i thought i was out” setting dennis up with lisa. maybe teddy was a platonic friend from highschool that makes greg jealous. maureen kicking mac out of their apartment after getting married to dennis. “so i’m still your leading man” the big stripes. big emotional arc. calling lisa “my roomie” when he has to flirt with her. drinking wine. helps when your sad. still got big blue stripes. you miss teddy and no one can replace him. macden coming home singing the boys are back in town. maureen couldn’t replace mac. i don’t love you maureen (looks at mac) i never loved you (maureen). blows hitting on lisa purposefully. if he really wanted to sleep with her “sex, banging” he wouldn’t have been that forward, knew it wouldn’t work. big blue stripes. i’m still your leading man. mac thinking that went great. i find you annoying this whole thing is annoying. i’m leaving (to mac’s room). you just have to trust the structure. Just Trust The Structure!!!

third and final dennis shirt. still blue. it’s checkered But the more prominent stripes are facing downward. a Change. the emotional blue stripes are still there but there’s new stripes, going in a different direction. horizontal stripes shown in closeted dennis moments. the macden story and frank and charlie’s stories mirroring eachother - as they once did in fights gay marriage/gets divorced. straight is gay. the stripes have changed. the whole worlds upside down and the emotional dennis stripes have twisted. stops trying to set dennis up with a woman and moving the focus to setting mac up with a man. it won’t play in middle america but we’ll jam it down their throats till they enjoy it. mac coming in and out of the closet like a yoyo. so you’ll help me. i will. emotionally charged macdennis moment. mac let’s go find you some romance. the stripes have changed. this cat is coming out of the wall. to get him out you introduce another cat and they get codependent then that second cat will come out and hopefully the first one will come out soon after. episode before gets romantic was mac finds his pride. “Why do we even have to do this.” Oliver groans, letting Ari blow on her nails. “I mean. Can’t we just stay home. And like. Watch a movie. I don’t wanna see that ginger fuck.” She mumbles looking annoyed.

“Stop moving so much, you’ll smudge it.”

“Sorry ma’am.”

“Atta girl.”

“Can you guys please try to stop eye fucking each other for one night.” Yui groans.

“That’s homophobic of you Yui. Just say you hate gay people.” Ari mumbles, getting off Alexis’s bed and walking to her mirror. “It’s ok. We’ll accept you for who you are.”

“I won’t.” Oliver mumbles, flopping on the bed, careful not to ruin her nails.

Yui huffs, “I’m not even homophobic but sure.” She grumbles.

Alexis pulls open the door and smiles, “Give us a moment Kaveh." Alexis smiles, slightly closing the door.

"What is that traitor doing here." Ari huffs, crossing her arms.

"Oh come on Ari. You and Kaveh have known eachother since you were kids! Why are you so mad at him now?"

"He took our girlfriend from us." Ari says plainly and Oliver nods.

"An unforgivable crime."

"Well ignoring that. He's gonna be coming with us. As my date."

Ari and Oliver gasp, Yui sniggers, turning away to focus on her hair.

"Your date!? But we're your date!!"

"Ari. I have a boyfriend now. Of course he's going to be my date."

"I cannot believe you."

"I'm sorry girls but what is done is done." Alexis frowns and Ari huffs.

“Whatever, Yui come help with my hair.” Ari calls the girl over and she walks over, pushing Ari to sit down as she begins to brush her hair.

Kaveh quietly steps into his girlfriend’s room and smiles. “What are you all wearing to this lovely and hopefully very normal occasion?”

“Well, we’re going to go with something formal on the very small chance that the ginger has a ballroom. But we thought about it five minutes later and decided it was stupid.” Yui says, using her fingers to untangle the largest knots in Ari’s hair. “You’ve got dandruff Ari.”

“Just announce it to the whole world why don’t you.” She mumbles.

“Sorry...” Yui smiles, looking sheepish. “But yea, so we’re just thinking of just chucking together a few things each of are bringing.” Yui says and Oliver pushes herself into a sitting position.

“You know. I heard Scaramouche is going.”

Yui freezes, the slightest tinge of red on her cheeks. “What?”

“Oh yea…” Ari grins. “He’ll definitely be there.”

“How can you be so sure.” Yui whispers.

“I mean. Listen. Scaramouche is Childe’s best friend. They’re literally like. The school’s most known duo.” Ari grins, picking at the skin on the side of her nail bed.

“Wait I thought that was a rumour. I mean. Childe is seen hanging out with everyone. And Scaramouche is a certified loner.” Alexis says, letting Kaveh put on her nails.

“Well yea. But like. They are! I know they are!” Ari persists.

“How can you be so sure.” Kaveh says, looking up to meet his friend’s eyes.

Ari splutters and turns away, making Yui laugh. “Oh, come on you guys know Ari used to have the FATTEST crush on him.”

“That was before I found out he was a royal asshole.” Ari huffs. “And if we’re pointing fingers, Alexis used to have a crush on Oliver’s man.”

“He’s not my man!”

“Not yet.” Ari mumbles.

“I hate you.”

“No, you don’t.”

“Whatever.” Oliver says, standing up, “Alexis help me get ready, will you?”

“Sure, gimmie a minute let Kaveh put on my nails first. Can we lay down some ground rules please?”

“That’s a good idea.” Yui nods and Ari shrugs.

“Sure, why not.”

“Great. Rule one. Don’t fight Kaveh.”

“I like that rule.” Kaveh nods.

“I don’t.” Ari glares.

“You and Kaveh may have consented to enter a romantic relationship, but we didn’t.” Oliver frowns, yelping when Ari tugs on her hair.

“Black or purple?”

“Uh… I dunno.”

“I think rule two should be, if I get drunk and end up sleeping with Childe, you should kill me.”

“That’s a good rule.” Ari nods.

“Thank you I came up with it myself.”

“No-one is killing anyone.” Alexis sighs.

“Oh, rule three should be, if we all end up separated, we should have a meet up spot somewhere where we meet up at a particular time to go home. Just in case someone’s phone is off or flat.” Yui says and Kaveh nods.

“That’s good. And if anyone is leaving with someone else, they should probably tell someone.” He adds, smiling when Alexis steps out in her outfit. “You look amazing my darling.” He whispers, ignoring the way Ari and Oliver make fake gagging noises.

“Ok is everyone ready to go?” Alexis smiles and the group nod, grabbing their things.

“Let me get that for you sir.” Ari grins, grabbing Oliver’s things.

“I’m going to ignore that.” Kaveh mumbles.

“Let’s get wasted!!” Ari grins, pumping her fist in the air.

“Safely!” Kaveh whispers.

“That was bad.” Ari mumbles.

“You broke his nose! Yea it was bad!” Kaveh exclaims, looking horrified as he meets Ari’s eyes in the car mirror.

“Watch it pretty boy or you’re next.” Ari glares. “Don’t test me.”

“I’m just surprised you hit him.” Yui says and Ari groans.

“He was pissing me off! What was I supposed to do!?”

“Leave?? Go find someone else to hang out with? Not punch him!” Alexis says, turning round in the car to meet Ari’s eyes.

“There go my chances to win the bet.” Kaveh mumbles. “Shit!” He gasps, hitting the breaks.

“I wanna go home…” Oliver whispers.

“Wait what bet.” Ari glares as Kaveh pulls into the driveway.

“Don’t worry 'bout it”

This is so cute and like..really explicitly sexual at the same time I’m almost looking away in shyness to give em privacy…while also saying “these boys gay good for them good for them” That’s basically what’s happening in between episodes and scenes. And you’re right it’s literally them. They’re both so intensely sexual in opposing, compatible ways, that few can keep up. Maybe I’ll write a “Tv show” AU where they’re costars who are dating and are only with the royals on set.

Maybe Fizz is singing or maybe Blitzø is, there’s no constant Dom and sub, they’re versatile partners, a lethal combo, and equal in everything.

Love this section especially “Nothing comes close, i could never replace you” because I really feel like they’re trying to use stolas and Ozzie to replace eachother cause their dynamics and personalities closely match, but they might not even see that. Whoever forced them apart had an impossible task.

Also love this lyric, part of my fic where stolas is talking about Blitzø being his sad, lonely, broken unreachable moon that orbits him, while Fizz shakes his head and says “No, he’s a happy guy deep down. He brings warmth, makes you feel safe, guides you, he creates safe places and makes you feel like family..he’s the sunlight. People orbit around him. It’s why he can’t stand being alone, it’s unnatural for him. And. That’s why we used to call him sunshine boy back at the circus. He was a hell of a lot better as a leader than his greedy dad, even if he wasn’t the best on stage. He was always sweeter behind the curtains anyway.”

-Making Stolas realise he’s never truly seen that smile unless it was shrouded in lies, he and his constant demands, are what makes him feel sorrowful and alone. He’s drowning in sorrow and dragging Blitzø down with him.

While Fizz makes him light up like he’s never seen, and he begins to remember that the bright joyous smile on Blitzøs he fell for all those years ago, was directed at Fizz. His partner.

I feel like Viv is just gonna keep giving us a few seconds of really great chemistry and romantic implications through beautiful dialogue and emotions, before some asshole character like Cash, Stolas’ dad, or Creepzo, or Mammon, or random shark goons interrupts them talking, and/or rips them apart and back to the royal Goetia to create more spectacle than depth, again and again just to make sure “stolitz” and “Fizzarozzie” merch doesn’t have a dent in sales and the more possessive and bitter fangirls dont get too upset. Of course you can like all ships, many people do but there are definitely out there fangirls who are extremely bitter when these two so much as talk, because ‘the little imp babies belong to their protective royal daddies!” (Their words not mine) But I’ll treasure each moment. They’re a great alternative for those of us not obsessed with the royalty class x peasant class trope.

So I’ve been watching the wank about Deborah Chow referring to Obi-Wan and Anakin’s relationship as a “love story dynamic” through Episodes 1-6, and how she hopes to channel that in the series.

“For me, across the prequels, through the original trilogy, there’s a love-story dynamic with these two that goes through the whole thing,” Chow said in the interview with Vanity Fair. “I felt like it was quite hard to not [include] the person who left Kenobi in such anguish in the series… What’s special about that relationship is that they loved each other.”

Well, first things first.... calling Obi and Ani's dynamic a "love story" in an official interview is clearly intended as a non-sexual one. I would go further to say it's not romantic in our modern definition, but would likely fit into "Arthurian romance" with themes of adventure, courtly (chaste) love, and chivalry.

It's interesting to me how the anti-Disney rightwing are REALLY focusing on it as a “gross gay groomer” thing. Bigots and homophobes are using the very idea of Obi and Ani loving eachother as some proof that Disney is “encouraging grooming” and using it to fuel their current boycott.

Meanwhile... anti-shipper, pro-censorship, pro-harassment types are either claiming “people who ship Obikin don't understand Chow meant it to be familial! freaks are taking it wrong!" or they’re taking it literally as the rightwingers are and saying “this is disgusting, I can’t believe they’re making this gross shit canon”. They’re just as furious as the rightwingers, despite being ostensibly left and many of them being queer themselves.

However... it's OBVIOUS TO ME that what Chow said about the story is absolutely true, but it's about these men loving one another PURELY, CHASTELY, NOBLY.

There is actually no way that Chow intended it to mean a sexual romantic relationship. I firmly believe this simply fits along with the recent trend of marketing things as “bromance” or “unconventional love story” between stuff like buddy cop stories, to get clicks and sound like they’re skirting the edge of things, when all they’re doing is showing men loving eachother AS FRIENDS. Which is great as a CONCEPT. You should love your friends!

Is it fun to go "HAHA THE CREATORS SHIP IT! OBIKIN WINS. OBIKIN CANON"? HECK YES. BECAUSE I SHIP IT! BECAUSE IT’S A GREAT DYNAMIC. (my definition of “ship it” is “I simply enjoy thinking about their relationship, and the many permutations of it, specifically in a romantic/sexual way. I don’t particularly care if it becomes canon and I don’t want to pressure the studio to do it, and I also am not a tinhatter, as in I don’t think they wrote it intending to be that way. Well, Matthew Stover’s book is borderline... but I digress.)

Do I actually believe they're going to make them queer and IN LOVE with eachother? Of course not. Like, literally, they NEVER intend that. And I won’t be disappointed! I like the canon relationship AS IT IS! But watching people get bent out of shape and super homophobic and calling people names and attack others over this is wild.

It’s canon that Obi-Wan cares deeply for Anakin, and if you look at the movies 1-6 arc alone, it’s really evident that their relationship as it exists is VERY IMPORTANT for the entire Star Wars narrative. Obi-Wan ignores the warning signs of Anakin going darkside because he’s attached. He cares about Anakin. He’s BIASED, and he’s a Jedi and they’re supposed to be above attachment, above bias. Meanwhile, when Anakin is manipulated into thinking that Padme and Obi-Wan were having an affair or conspiring or keeping secrets or turning Padme against Anakin... Anakin is SO DEEPLY HURT by that because he trusts Obi-Wan. He loves Obi-Wan and he is sure Obi-Wan feels the same. The betrayal is so much worse because he trusted him, loved him.

The script and novels make it more overt, since we can’t see what’s inside a characters mind onscreen, but it’s still there.

Obi-Wan goes to Tatooine to watch over Luke, Anakin’s son. He does this out of love. Once again, it’s NOT SEXUAL LOVE. Not in the canon. But simply saying they love eachother isn’t sexual, and I’m sick of people getting hostile over it.

I’m very intrigued to watch the upcoming show, because making sure the canon love is expressed there as PART of the reasons for the anguish sounds like a REALLY COMPELLING story.

I sometimes feel as if the majority of the project sekai fandom haven't actually read the stories of the game and have instead made a lot of stuff up. It is more obvious with Leo/need and More More Jump who are just considered boring and plain (a rant for another day) but then there is Nightcord looked at by face value with them just being 'the depressed group' and Wonderlands x Showtime being either ignored to the point where Emu and Nene's characters are hardly looked at and Tsukasa and Rui are mischaracterised to hell and back.

I could probably say a lot on any of these things, but for now I'll just go on about what has been on my mind for a while. Vivid Bad Squad are often reduced to a gay couple vs a lesbian couple. There is so much more to all of their characters and their dynamics which get overshadowed in favour of making An a mean lesbian who constantly bullies Akito.

Like, just reading one of the group's events would make it obvious how much they all care for each other. Even in the main story, Kohane is worried for Akito and Toya when she still thinks they're responsible for ruining their first performance. An and Akito are shown to worry and care for each other, and any teasing that happens is very light and in a playful manner. Toya lets himself feel comfortable with the entire group and not just Akito, and the most recent event on the en server is proof of that. In Kohane's first side story in her 2 star card for the event Toya and An are against eachother in a card game and at the end An talks about how next time Toya will lose and Toya challenges her on it.

Yes, anhane and akitoya are both ships with a lot of in-game content to support them. They're two of my favourite ships! But the group as a whole have so much more going for them, and it's frustrating to see that get ignored.

There is definitely someone who can explain this better, but Vivid Bad Squad are friends who care for each other and I wish that, along with the actual characters in general, was focused on more instead of just shipping!

Yes! You get it! I also don’t like how anhane gets shafted in some aspects? Like akitoya is great, I love them, but why do they get the “omg so canon” talk and all the analysis while anhane is left to the side? I think with the Awake Now event and the lyrics to some of the newer songs there’s a lot to analyze about anhane! I think An’s growing sense of inferiority and want to stay by Kohane’s side while Kohane slowly grows as a musician and wants to get better is something really cool and something that the two of them could have a discussion about! But it’s not really discussed while they’re sitting in the background of fics.

Also yeah! I remember when I first got into the project Sekai fandom I saw a bunch of memes about An bullying Akito and got confused when I got further into VBS story and found that An gives Akito friendly teasing, and has a friendly rivalry that she likes to keep up! They’re buddies! In the Awake Now event, he gives her advice and she sincerely takes it to heart and because she sees him as an equal!

I think that if you want to show Akito getting bullied, Ena is right there, and I think Akito and Ena have a fascinating relationship. Akito is shown to stand up for Ena before their father, but he has trouble dealing with her sometimes and it’s a sibling relationship that used to be stronger but fell apart with time probably due to their environment and it’s really interesting!

I also think Kohane gets reduced a lot to “shy girl” by the fandom when she’s a cool character! She’s slowly surpassing An who’s grown up with Rad Weekend which showcases that she has tons of talent! She loves everyone so much, without a mean bone in her body! Even despite her shy demeanor she handles Akitos rough exterior no problem! Although I think An would be a better protagonist for VBS Kohane is a great character!

first of all uhm. yes he does. sometimes. this fic is set in 2008 and jed is a gay little sexy slut it just makes perfect sense in my brain

second of all im really not sure. their relationship isn't really going to have the chance to develop any further during the rest of the fic (in fact im not even sure if i'll have time to bring amelia back again sadly) but some time in the future who knows. it's sad because octavius and amelia have SO much in common and they really were best friends at the beginning and they love each other so much. but their relationship serves as a real lesson for octavius (or it will come to do so eventually) and i think that lesson is more powerful when the relationship it comes from is damaged beyond repair. i think octavius and amelia have just passed the point of being able to fix things now: they both have WAY too much pent up baggage and things they secretly hate each other for that they've never even talked about before. their similarities clash when they're angry and they're both just way too stubborn and emotionally repressed for their own good. i think they'd need to sit down and talk things through A LOT to be able to even begin sorting it out and i just don't see them ever finding the time or excuse to end up doing that. unfortunately i think it would be easier for them both if they didn't really see each other again. it just brings up too many old issues that are far too deep set to be able to resolve properly. in another time line they would be the best of friends and have a great time together, but the point of their relationship (for me anyway) was to show that loving someone just is not enough sometimes and it's better to let them go. who knows though, i bet teddy could have a fair shot at fixing them both i won't lie

can we just talk about this for a hot second

*ZOMBIES 3 SPOILERS AHEAD*

So- Zombies 3

I will say, I loved the movie. From the characters, to the plot, THE SPECIAL AFFECTS

but there is just one thing I wanna talk about real quick- and that’s A-Spen and Willa. I was shocked when I realized that they were a cannon couple, cause y’know, it’s a Disney movie. And they’re gay. We love representation (especially cause I jsut found out a-spen is non binary, development in the movie industry is great 👍🏼)

But still, I was really happy to find one of the first and only gay ships I’ve seen in a Disney movie. However, does anyone else think it was a little bit rushed?

Like, where was the chemistry? They really didn’t talk to eachother much until the last 20 minutes of the movie (out of 1 hr and 30 mins)

In fact, for like half the movie A-Spen thought they were in love with Zed! And Willa was actively trying to kill A-Spen and the other aliens!

It just feels rushed, y’know? I didn’t even realize the possibility of them together until they made that extremely gay eye contact on the mother ship. And then what, they held hands and sang to eachother a bit during the last song? plus, they’re personalities really don’t mix that well. but hey, what do I know. I’m single and not even sure if I’m just reading too far into this- my opinion really doesn’t matter much. I think they could be cute together, but the relationship is just kinda missing something.

Take Wyatt and Eliza for example- people started shipping them even before the 3rd movie came out, and they really didn’t have any special interactions during the second movie. (Besides the dance scene, that was cute.)

They just kinda go together, it makes sense. But A-Spen and Willa? There was no buildup, no hints. They didn’t even notice anything themselves until the moment in the mothership- you could tell.

And while A-Spen gave off gay vibes from the beginning, as did Willa- it just all happened so fast. I think they definitely have the potential to be a good couple, they just aren’t there quite yet. I’m probably gonna rewatch the movie (keep in mind I saw it on the 16th, it’s now the 31st) and the ship will grow on me, but for right now I still think it was too quick.

Again, anyone who sees this doeant have to take my opinion that seriously, not even I do. This is just something that I noticed about the movie,

steve rambles about s4 p1

here are my live thoughts through my first watch through; there will likely be more. spoilers (obviously), read at your own risk (also forgive any spelling or grammar mistakes, as i am writing this i am currently bouncing off of the walls because of this damn show)

GOD THIS SEASON!!! i know people are pretty divided on it, but i LOVED it so far. i’m a bit worried where it’s going to go during part 2 - namely with will and mike, jonathan and nancy, and i’m becoming so protective over dustin, max, lucas, (and erica!!) so far. i have to admit - as someone who never cries at movies/tv shows, this season got me choked up more than i’d like to admit, namely during max’s scene w/ vecna in the upside down, the battle against the demogorgon in russia, jopper reunion, and the possibility of nance getting hurt (i’m normal and i have normal thoughts).

in terms of storyline, i was a bit confused why we didn’t see the cali gang at all after like. the middle of episode 6 or something. i hope we get to see them soon in part 2. i really liked the russia plot, i found that the beginning of the joyce/murray plot was a little boring but GOD as a dynamic they work really well together and i’m so glad that murray is a “main” character this season. i am loving robin as always - she was definitely written for gay band/theatre kids and it shows (good thing.) “i have a hard time with social cues,” oh robin the platonic (capital P!) love of my life and worst best friend ever.

speaking of loves of my life, i LOVED the characterization and relationships this season. it was great to be back with nancy (although, i do NOT think it should be romantic), lucas and max made me sob, suzie’s siblings, especially eden, are hilarious and i loved that feeling of a chaotic house full of kids, argyle and jonathan are my two new favorite stoners, joyce and murray are unlikely best friends!, and, of course, hopper and enzo being “friends” (as much as you can be in a prison where you cannot trust eachother) was really awesome to see too.

wasn’t a big fan of jason’s gang/the basketball squad.. i think they were good to move the plot along and i think jason seeing patrick Die was an important aspect, but they were kind of just.. dropped after that? i’m not sure if they’re going to make an appearance in part 2 or if they’re mostly going to stay in the background. i’m going to be 100% honest with you guys (sorry steddie fans) i did NOT like eddie in the beginning. i was worried he was just going to be some edgy stereotype that was kind of a shitbag to everyone but the fandom loved him anyway. now i can see he is just Mentally Ill and has been treated like SHIT by society. he reminds me a LOT of myself when i was younger, i resented anyone who was popular/rich/etc because i had been treated so poorly by them so i completely empathize with him on that front. i’m going to be honest i’m still not sure why he couldn’t move his game to another day; i’ve DMed before (and have been in a decent handful of campaigns) and as long as you have the prep time and plot [at least semi-]planned out (it seems like he does!) you usually don’t need a set date. i’m not saying his reaction wasn’t justified (and i love getting more erica screentime!!) but it just felt like the stakes weren’t as high as the basketball game. tl;dr - pre-chrissy death eddie i was ehh on, after-chrissy death eddie? i think he’s Neat. :-)

favorite duo this season (so far) HAS to be nancy and robin. i am so happy for nancy to have a good friend again after barb. they both deserve the WORLD

the twist with 001. OUGH. i got the fact that 001 was vecna spoiled to me, and during the beginning of the finale i started putting two and two together (who 001 was), so i knew what was going to happen to him (which sucks, by the way - i really wish i could’ve been caught off guard, there were a lot of twists at the end that i had spoiled for me unfortunately! please remember to tag your stuff correctly!

very glad that everyone is sort of having a more equal amount of screen-time. i was pretty pissed last season especially since i felt like they really pushed jonathan and nancy aside... the fandom sure has!! regardless, i think that they incorporated the new characters pretty well too, it was definitely a LOT at the beginning but given that the kids were going to two different NEW schools it made sense. (i’m also kind of glad that el didn’t really do anything with the other kids at the lab and 002 was the real only person who we had to keep track of... so many faces in that lab!!) finally, i want to shed light on dr. owens... i love morally grey characters like him, i think he is supposed to be one of those “good people who have done terrible things,” and dr. brenner’s message really applies to him (not dr. brenner though. fuck that guy). you can tell his heart is in the TRYING to be in right place but he’s definitely still corrupt and is working with the man who is testing on literal children and giving them severe trauma. so, once again, morally grey.

my biggest questions for part 2 are: - why are we stuck in 1983 in the upside down? (my first idea was that’s when the gate was opened, but that doesn’t make any sense given the timeline of season 1.) barb died on november 8th, not the 6th, so i don’t think it was vecna trying to mess with nancy’s head.

- what the FUCK did will paint.

- how is everyone’s relationship with eachother going to develop?? i’m loving the characterization this season!

- not a question but i need to see what happens to jonathan and nancy please please please please. i have SO many theories about the love triangle i don’t know how much longer i can wait

- where is vickie? duffer brothers Answer Me. c’mon.

hey. so i haven't done this in a while, and i think it's important to keep an up to date journal. but i have a really hard time with paper. not finishing a page, or the pen being just slightly wrong, or i'm not satisfied with my own handwriting, whatever. i like to type instead. for ten minutes without stopping though? damn.

i had surgery two weeks ago. the difference isn't as stark and clear as i'd have preferred, but you get what you get. mostly i'm excited, antsy really, to get back to work and school. to feel like a normal person again. all of my clothes (not all of them, just the ones i wear regularly tbh) are in texas with my parents, because they are bringing my car over here in a couple of weeks. i didn't really anticipate needing many of those clothes, but turns out, feeling like i can't go anywhere without them. comfort.

the past few weeks have been insane. i went to texas for like 6 days, which i know now is just simply too long to spend with my parents. we'll always get into fights and little battles, and it never goes well. my mom has been really rough on me, without her awareness obviously, but it still hurts. she criticizes what i wear, how i talk, the way i interact with people in my hometown, etc. my dad is better in the day to day, but he looked me in the face after saying that he's having a hard time using they/them, i told him he could use she/her if it was easier (i'd much prefer this) but he looked me in the face and said "eli, i changed your diapers when you were a baby. i know what you are." that one stung more than anything. the idea that he is actually incapable of changing. he literally does not have the capacity to change. to be better. to see me as i am, not as he always thought i was. my grandfather was there during that week too which was awful. he can't really grasp transition in any real way. he'll say things like "it's great to sit between my two handsome grandsons." and i KNOW he means well. i know his heart is made of gold. i know this. my parents remind me constantly. but it still stings. the only time somewhere here would say something like that to me, it's because they're trying to humiliate me, or to put me in my place. it's an emotional reaction. a knee jerk one. that isn't something they can get.

even more wild that all of that though, my brother graduated from high school which made me brain shut down honestly. he’s supposed to still be like 13, sitting in the backseat while i drive him to school on a tuesday morning. but he's grown. he left for houston, for a summer physics program, the same time i left for mexico, for surgery, and it represents very pivotal moments in each of our lives. also the fact is that if they happened at different times, we'd both have been there for eachother. i guess gd decided we needed to do them alone.

seeing everyone from my home town was really hard. it's like opening an old wound, one that didn't heal quite right.

what's strange about being back is that i'm still having issues with dating. i'm seeing someone named caleb, he's a communist, but also somehow a business student? he's strange, because i've been getting mixed signals and it hurts. i’m realizing i’m a lot more insecure and unstable than i thought i was. i’m probably reaping what i’ve sown, i tend to be so distant and ghost so many people. i deserve some of what i'm getting. i'm also seeing someone in colorado springs named jeremy, and he's just lovely. we have lots of shared values and he doesn't make me feel dumb. at first, because of the way our interaction was going, i was scared he was actually gay and using me as a jumping off point for queerness but he's assured me through action that that isn't what's happening.

i've been thinking a lot about the end of this point in my life. i'm about to publically change my name to tamar, which is so exciting, but it also closes this era. it punctuates it in a really interesting way. i'll be moving forward with my education, which i've been so excited about and so fired up for, for the past two years, but all it makes me want to do now is RUN. i'm getting cold feet and i wish i could just leave. do a long ass backpacking trip from new delhi to london, or afghanistan to italy, or australia to bali, just to get some fresh air. i'm realizing how much i'm changing by staying in one place. this is the longest i've stuck around, especially as an adult. two years in november, so really just a year and a half. i'd really love to get a car i can live in for at least a bit and just take off. travel some. because when i graduate (god willing) in three years, the world will have changed so much. things are happening at such a rapid pace honestly and it's mortifying. i feel like a kid sitting in bible study, or sunday school, being told that the apocalypse will mean the end of life as we know it, and that it could very well be in our lifetime. i don't know if i believe in the literal biblical apocalypse, but it takes up enough space in my psyche to understand that it's important for my personal development. i'm about to get a tattoo of a biblically accurate angel, a seraph, on my arm which i'm excited about.

the building blocks of my fear of global warming and technological and simulationist development is that it's all coming to an end and you never know when it's the last time you'll do somethin. that's terrifying. not knowing when your life will change fundamentally, because of external causes. things we can't affect.

i saw a post on some social media site, during my surgical recovery that just made me bawl like a baby. it read: I AM VERY YOUNG, AND I AM STILL LEARNING HOW TO LIVE.

i am still learning how to live. i really am.

i dont know what the fuck i'm doing. i'm really just throwing darts at a screen, trying to make sense of it but it doesn't add up. i wish i didn't feel like i was running out of time. time is the new money though, at least that's what they say. it's the only thing you can never get back once you've spent it. i really hope i'm spending year 21 as i should be.

i think part of it not making sense is that everytime i feel like i've landed on a good thing, on something that could work and keep me anchored, it always falls apart. for two years ive been advocating for myself to be able to study here, and now that i've finally reached it, it doesn't taste as sweet as i wouldve hoped, or even expected.

the snake that tempted eve in the garden, he tempted her with freedom. the knowledge not to be bound to god anymore. not to have to rely on him. i really wish i could get some of that fruit, from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. because right now, i feel like im just hanging on by his coattail. i dont want to have to rely on a god.

i don't want to have to, but sometimes it is nice, i guess, to be able to just pray and curl up in the shade of that tree, without eating of the fruit. i deserve to rest. i deserve to be protected. it's what we deserve, as people. i guess it's just scary to think that we all rely on him. i dont need god, at least i dont think so. i don't think i need god. maybe i do maybe that'll reveal itself in due time. who fucking knows.

maybe secretly i’ll want to rely on him.
