a3! as part-timers
I FINALLY FINISHED IT AGAIN. Thank you all for being patient with me because I really liked these headcanons and Tumblr just decided to delete them all <3
WARNING: rookie Chikage Utsuki will be included! (this means spoilers for Act 5 are present throughout).
Tumblr media
It's canon that Sakuya works with Misumi, but I have no clue as to what their jobs are. Let's safely assume that Sakuya works at a cafe! His bright disposition and cheerful smile is bound to put a smile on customer's face, but he's a little clumsy when it comes to making drinks so his co-workers always tell him to stick to the cash register. It suits him anyways, being able to talk to different people of different walks of life. He mostly works in the mornings, only after he manages to get Masumi to school on time. He is a customer favourite no doubt, and he brings in a lot of tips for all of the workers to share! Many of the children that come by love him, and especially teachers who are running late to work deem him the sunshine in their life.
Masumi would work at a music shop. Not to be obvious or anything, but music is possibly one of the only constants in his life and he grew a deep bond with it while staying alone at home for most of his life. So when he manages to get a job at shop in inside Veludo Mall, he's ecstatic. Although he gets to spend less time in the dorm (which means less time with the Director), Masumi absolutely loves perusing the endless aisles of music cds, vinyl records, posters, and so much more. He's also very diligent at his job, organizing things perfectly and on time and even helping out customers even though he doesn't really want to. His coworkers grow so fond of him to the point that they let him listen to his own music while doing his job, headphones on while he reorganizes things on the shelves.
I don't really know what part-time job Citron would have, but I know he hangs around the Veludo markets a lot. He's there all the time, helping out the lovely ladies at their food stalls by actively advertising their products of the day and even charming young couples into buying some trinkets at another stall. His charm is very effective, smile so dazzling and eyes so hypnotizing that you can't help but follow him towards a stall where they're selling handmade mochi or fresh produce. This is all volunteering though, Citron doesn't get paid with money. What he does get paid with is lots of hugs and groceries to bring home to the dorm-- much to the delight of Izumi and Omi! Citron's so popular at the markets that he receives a greeting from every single stall while he passes by. And he never leaves empty handed!
Tsuzuru tends to boast about the countless number of part-time jobs he's had. From gas station worker, to waiter, to library work, he has done a lot of things. I don't really think it's something to brag about because if I had that many jobs I would probably d-word. But working at Mankai as a playwright, that's already his dream come true. I don't think he'd want to work anywhere else when he's writing stories and bringing them to life like he has always wanted and it makes me happy to see that he's living out his dream. If anything, if he does work a part-time job, it's probably to get extra money to spend on his younger and older brothers since he's such a family man. And because his stories bring so much attention to Mankai, Sakyo compensates Tsuzuru very generously.
Gaming is Itaru's part-time job. Taruchi is a mysterious persona who is crazy good at video games and has a soothing voice. The kick is that nobody knows what he looks like and Itaru would like to keep it that way. He's a popular streamer and Let's Player so there's no doubt that he is raking in a lot of cash. How he finds time to juggle an office job, Mankai, and streaming is beyond me, but it is absolutely impressive because despite how lazy he seems to be, he is a diligent worker who is very good at entertaining people. Plus, nobody knowing what his face looks like brings in a lot of intrigue and fans. Itaru always baits his fans that just maybe he'll reveal his face to them, but never does. Everyone loves his teasing and Itaru loves messing with people. One of the top streamers on his platform and he's proud of it. The appearance of Banri's NEO also helps a lot with bringing in viewers. (The extra money he makes is donated to the Mankai fund box)
Not gonna lie, but with Chikage being a spy as well as an office worker, I don't think he has enough time to have another job on top of that. As we saw in Act 5, he worked tirelessly on his computer, rarely sleeping. Being a spy is hard work, and now that he realizes that Hisoka may not have betrayed the organization, he now has to work to keep Hisoka's location hidden from enemies. Can you imagine being an office worker tho.... could never be me. Sry Chikage and Itaru lmfao but that sounds painful. Anyways, if Chikage isn't actively working for the organization and isn't posting on his curry blog, maybe he's doing tech support? He's always sitting at his computer so he might as well you know lmfaoo
"I'm too famous to work a part-time job" he says while at the same time applying to work at a bonsai shop. Who are you kidding, Tenma? Also pretty sure the owners don't really care so he gets the job right away since they're in desperate need of help. Tenma acts kind of bratty as it is his first time having a job that isn't acting, but he gets knocked down a few pegs when he has to carry around heavy bags of soil and nutrients for the bonsai trees. Eventually, he comes to love his job, seeing the owners as part of his family as they take great care of him while he works at their shop. Unfortunately, there will still be those fans who will watch him as he works at the bonsai shop, but Tenma uses it to his advantage, saying that if they want to look a little more, they're going to have to buy a bonsai tree. The owners are like ??? wtf tenma ??? but inevitably, it brings in a lot of business;;;
Yuki would definitely work at a boutique as an apprentice!! Working with different types of fabric and body shapes and frills, god, what a dream come true for him! Sure, making costumes for Mankai is one thing, but those are costumes, not actual clothes you would wear outside on the daily. His skill in clothes is amazing and it amazes his mentor who watches on proudly as Yuki sews something gorgeous every single time he comes to help. And Yuki absolutely loves being there too, getting to work on normal every day people who aren't huge hulking men that manage to ruin their measurements every time Yuki makes something for them. Plus, using this experience from his apprenticeship helps him a lot if he so chooses to go to a school for fashion. I'm rooting for you, Yuki!
Working at a manga store, Muku is absolutely in love. He's already in the Library Committee at school so might as well work somewhere book related, right? The boy was lucky to get the job at his favourite manga shop at the mall, and he doesn't even need to wear a uniform! As long as he wears his employee lanyard and name tag, he is all good to go! Being surrounded with his favourite book series and figurines and posters alike is very exciting for Muku, and he works extremely well with customers who need help looking for recommendations or gifts. His enthusiasm charms everyone he talks to and he becomes a customer and workplace favourite after a couple of days. His avid hobby of reading manga is apparent to everyone he comes across, and when he meets another customer who is just as dedicated to manga as he, they have long talks while Muku convinces them to buy more books.
Kazunari would definitely work at an arts store. Cliche, I know, but he wouldn't want to be anywhere else! Michaels would be a good place to start, but knowing how great he is at aesthetics, I think a paint store would do him well too. Both places would mostly have university students as their workers anyways so Kazunari would fit in right away! Popular with customers due to his enthusiasm with art, Kazunari gets a lot of requests for help when choosing certain pigments and wallpapers for bedrooms and large scale art projects. His knowledge with the subject of art is deep and wide, so he is able to answer any questions thrown his way. He is so loved at his job that when he eventually quits to achieve bigger things, they throw a party for him and all promise to visit and watch his next play!
It's canon that Misumi is a freelancer, which means he works any type of odd job and never sticks to one for too long. The job that he has kept the longest is the cafe one where he's with Sakuya. He actually helped Sakuya get this job at the first place, and when they work together, they're a force to be reckoned with! They bring in a lot of tips together and since Misumi is so quick on his feet and speedy with his hands, there's never a line up for drinks. Everything goes out the door just as fast as they had come in and his co-workers love him for it. He is also very popular for his fanged tooth and eye crinkling smile! Many regulars give him triangles as their tips! And if Misumi isn't working at the cafe, he's helping out as a mover because he's quick and strong (like we saw in HaGT), or he is helping out the local mailman. Because the mailman is growing older in age, Misumi takes it upon himself to help him deliver the rest of the mail so that the sweet old man can go home early. Misumi is always seen running around the neighbourhood with the mailbag!
I know this will sound weird, but I think Banri would fare well as a tutor. Knowing that he can just flip through a textbook once and immediately know what to do, I think it would do everyone good if he helped tutor those who struggle. Although I bash Banri a lot (as a joke) I am still able to see that he cares very much for others. He has rarely struggled in his life and clearly doesn't understand the hardships of the other members when they can't seem to do this or that, so he does his best to put himself in their shoes so he knows what he can do to help others who are struggling much the same. So Tsumugi helps him get a tutoring gig, and he hits it off right away. It's impressive really, how he's able to help students understand concepts they once thought they would never be able to get and it makes Banri happy. Banri is someone who wishes to help others-- he even says that he wants to help Mankai grow by bringing back the knowledge he learns at Veludo Arts. And I don't think he'd need the money, so he donates most of it to the Mankai funds.
Is it cliche of me to put Juza in a bakery? You know, sweets, confectionaries. BREAD. God, knowing how Juza grew up with a loving mom who almost always baked sweets for him and Kumon makes me want to cry. I love them so much. Anyways, he'd be a little clumsy in the back kitchen so I think he would just stick to decorating pastries and mini cakes and all that. It's a very curious thing to watch as a customer, a young, mean looking man scrunching his eyebrows as he puts a smiley face on a cupcake. It's cute. There's also another part of me that wants to see him work as an apprentice for shūji, or traditional Japanese calligraphy. Knowing that Juza studied it when he was younger (and that's why his signature is nice), it would definitely be pretty cool for him to do scrolls and stuff. It's a tough job though, considering the art of Japanese calligraphy is an important thing, and every stroke and word you write counts. It's a beautiful art form though, and Juza could make a pretty penny out of commissions.
After learning about journalling from Izumi, Taichi most definitely applied to work at a stationary shop. He's a bit clumsy with it, but he's got the spirit and that's all that matters! Strangely enough, this is one of the rare times where he isn't actively vying for attention, but for some reason he gets it a lot here. It's not like he minds or anything, but please, ladies, quiet down ^^; He is a favourite in the workplace though since he's so energetic and is always eager to help out customers; especially the old grandmas who are looking for gifts to give their grandchildren. The old ladies love him too, and they pamper him a lot much to his bashful enjoyment. And since his coworkers know that he loves journalling so much, they give him a lot of extra stock to bring home so that he can share it with Izumi and Omi! On a less serious note, he'd probably do public dance battles outside with his friends to get a quick buck.
Man... Omi would work at a bakery too. Most likely he would work with Juza because that would make sense, and both of their presences at the bakery shop would attract a lot of attention. Two, hulking dudes working at a bakery shop? Count me in pls. He'd be the one working at the back kitchen, baking everything and such. I would have also liked to put him in a restaurant, but considering that you can't become a sous chef or even a head chef until years later (due to the hierarchy and training), I don't think I want him to do that. He's already studying to become a business major after all so it would be difficult to juggle two separate things to study for. He would also work great as a photographer, but he doesn't do any taxing jobs unless it's for Mankai or very close friends. His friends always pay him too much, but they insist he keeps the money (which he puts into Mankai funds) and as compensation from Sakyo, the older man lets Omi indulge in buying expensive ingredients for that night's dinner.
Why is Sakyo working so hard? I'm getting worried. He works as Mankai's accountant and is part of the Yakuza; those are already two stressful things to work for. He has so much to do and there's always a lot of plate considering he manages a lot of Mankai with Matsukawa and Izumi, and on top of that he always acts as Mankai's Papa, Accountant, and Grumpy Old Man at the End of the Street. And when he isn't doing anything at Mankai, Patriarch Izumida calls him in for a task to do at Ginsenkai or the area they patrol. He also owns a freakin' diner that is under Ginsenkai's care like?? wtf Sakyo. He works so hard, spends tireless days to help keep Mankai afloat and it makes my heart hurty </3 Sakyo was my first crush so I can't help but worry a little and he's my comfort character whenever I'm way too engrossed at looking at Omi's huge bahonkerz so pls... Sakyo take care of urself I'm begging. Also most of the money he earns goes to his family, and the rest is for Mankai's funds.
Tsumugi on the other hand would stay as a tutor since it's canon! Sure, he has a bit of competition now that he's helped Banri enter the tutoring scene, but he's still got his loyal students to take care of. He is a very diligent worker and is very smart so working out problems is nothing too hard for him. He cares for each and every student he has, writing personalized study outlines for them as well as keeping notes on them with what they're struggling on, what they're excelling at, and even takes notes on their study habits and how long their attention lasts for until they need to take a break. Tsumugi makes sure that he is teaching his students properly and cares for them a lot. If not tutoring, he is helping at the local Veludo flower boutique and is very popular there. He helps create a lot of bouquets with deep meanings, but sometimes those bouquets he makes are gifting to him right after, lmao
Ugh as for Tasuku, knowing how good he is at fixing things, he would be great at an electronics store or a mechanics shop. He has a natural talent at fixing things and I can only assume it's because as a child, he really loved tinkering with items that were laying around the house. Plus, knowing that he has an older brother, he probably had a lot of Gundam sets laying around that sparked his interest in building things. You've seen him fix a lot of things right? To his motorcycle, his car, the television, my heart, omfg he can do it all like wtf. He becomes so skilled at fixing cars that he somehow acquires the skill to soup them up too?? When did those big ass rims get there? Where the hell did those damn hydraulics come from? That sort of thing. God he would look so sexy in a classic Ford Mustang </3 On the other hand, I think he would be great at becoming an acting coach. He might give Yuzo a run for his money.
It's canon that Hisoka has a job, but no one really knows what it is I think. I believe he would be a mattress tester! Remember that backstage story with the All Male Lap Pillow Competition or whatever? Hisoka is basically a connoisseur at all things soft and comfortable because he chose Izumi's lap as the most comfortable. He said it was so soft (god I wish I were him) that he could fall asleep and he did!!! Absolutely amazing. With his picky sleeping choices, Hisoka is able to tell whether this or that mattress prototype is good to go or needs some working on. The benefits to this job is that he gets to sleep a lot too because of course, they need to see if the mattress is good enough to sleep on!! Of course he gets paid in money, but since his managers know that he loves marshmallows, they pay him in that too.
Does Homare really need a part-time job? He's basically a renowned writer, it's just that Mankai seems ignorant to the fact. Tsuzuru and Muku has found a whole bunch of his books in the library for goodness sake so of course he's making mad bank! In HaGT he had a business meeting with a publisher/editor so you can't really tell me that he isn't good at his job because if he's having international meetings?? UHM. Of course he's famous literally what is he at Mankai for? The Found Family??? GOD OF COURSE you can stay Homare I love you so much. But seriously, he is super rich, and because he loves Mankai so much, he helps out and chips in to fill the Mankai funds so that they can stay afloat.
And here we have Azuma. I am not going to lie, but I am very protective over Azuma when it comes to his part-time job. Azuma was lonely for a huge chunk of life, unable to fill the void where his family used to sit in his heart. So he picked up skincare, and then he picked up cuddling/escort. His job in the past was full of false security and fake love that would never seal the cracks in his body, but when he found Mankai, something was different. He felt like he belonged somewhere. Especially after Nocturnality, it's obvious that Azuma has finally found his home. So I don't want him to go back to his cuddling/escort job;;; but if he wants to work again, I think being a skincare consultant would be really good! Since his skin is so flawless, many customers would flock to him for advice and the best products to use. His gentle voice and soothing caress as he rubs cream into his customer's skin is hypnotizing, and he shares his skincare routine with anyone who is willing to spend the time, effort, and money into making their skin look pretty like his.

How to Conduct a High Value Trade
Tumblr media
Hello trainers! Today we’re going to discuss how to conduct a high value trade while being as safe as possible. Before we get started though, I just want to preface that I’m not presently looking to do any trading at this point in time. This is just a guide for those of you who might be considering it or have a grail Pokémon that’s not possible to achieve through normal hunting means (like an event Pokémon).
Maybe you missed out on Zarude or shiny GMax Toxicitry and you’re looking to trade with someone who has one. Here are a few things to keep in mind:
1. Remember that you’re at the mercy of whomever you’re trading with...
This includes touch trades for shiny Pokémon you want to evolve. Any time that you’re trading it’s best done with someone you know and not a complete stranger. Someone you know is less likely to cheat you out of something you worked hard for in return for a low value, hacked or illegal Pokémon.
Tumblr media
2. Don’t undersell a common shiny Pokémon’s value- especially Aprimon!
Shiny hunting is difficult and time consuming. Especially Aprimon where you’re either forced to take enormous risk by throwing your only Apriball or spending the time to carefully Masuda Method breed one (a process which can take anywhere from weeks to months). It is common to trade two or three shiny Pokémon in exchange for shiny legendaries but don’t let someone take advantage of you.
3. Pokémon that are Hacked/Cloned are of lesser value than legit ones.
A hacked shiny Giratina is worth significantly less than a PoGo Community Day shiny. Why? You can’t really do anything with this Pokémon. It’s not allowed on the game and if Game Freak finds it in your boxes you’re going to potentially be banned from online services like Surprise Trade or Pokémon Home. Cloned Pokémon are usually legal in that they won’t get you banned and you can use them for online play but they are literal clones of a legit Pokémon created via outside software. Any legit Pokémon inherently has more worth but because legit and cloned Pokémon are identical you can only rely on the word of the other trader.
Tumblr media
4. There are safer places to trade but no trade with a stranger is 100% safe.
Pokémon that come from PoGo are usually legit because Niantic and Pokémon International shut down hackers fast but it’s still possible. I always recommend that people trade on r/pokemontrades on Reddit because they have very strict rules about high value trades and trading only legitimate Pokémon but part of that involves earning their trust by completing 10 trades of non-shiny/event Pokémon. Trading within Pokémon Go is pretty safe because you’re forced to be near whomever you’re trading with so it’s unlikely that you’ll trade with strangers.
5. Don’t trade Pokémon you care about to strangers!
Don’t do it! I’ve seen a lot of Pokémon get traded away for supposed high value Pokémon (in reality they were probably clones) so that the recipient can clone your previous Pokémon for a giveaway. This often makes people really upset so just don’t do it!
Tumblr media
6. Keep Your Permanent Collection in a separate box with special wallpaper. Make your trade boxes background white.
This will prevent accidents. There are many people who have accidentally sent beloved Pokémon into trades they didn’t intend on. Organizing your boxes will help to prevent this tragedy and also keep the people your trading with from seeing the parts that are off limits.
7. It’s not crazy to ask for a reference!
If you don’t know the person you’re trading with it’s OK to ask for a reference from someone who previously has successfully. If they can’t provide one or are unwilling to you should probably rethink the trade.
Tumblr media
8. Don’t use the GTS to conduct serious trades.
There’s really no guarantee what you’ll get. You’d be lucky if it wasn’t hacked/cloned.
9. Join a Trading Community!
I’ve mentioned r/pokemontrades a couple of times but there are other great communities out there too! When people know each other there’s much less room for shady stuff. If there’s enough interest I might start a discord in the future!
That’s all for now. Our next lesson will go over Pokémon value and what to expect if you go to trade. Until then, happy hunting! ✨

Looking Closer at Kevin Spacey, Star of American Beauty
by MATT MCCORMICK, Texas A&M Battalion Staff writer | November 22, 1999
(photo not included with the original article)
Kevin Spacey established himself as one of Hollywood's most gifted actors with his Oscar-winning role in 1993's The Usual Suspects. Known for his ability to lose himself in a character, Spacey went on to star in such films as Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil and The Negotiator.
His new film, American Beauty, has opened to widespread critical acclaim and box office success across the country and has many people saying his name and Academy Award in the same sentence again. The Battalion participated in an interview with the actor as he talked about his latest film and the character he plays, Lester.
Battalion: When you take on a character, you always have a different look. How do you prepare for a character role?
Kevin Spacey: It starts with usually a discussion. Sometimes you might have a notion of how somebody might look, just from reading it. Or, in fact, it might be described by the writer. It usually starts with a discussion with the director. How do you see this character looking? How do you see them dressing?  Do they have a particular walk or way of moving that's different? So I usually try to collaborate with the director. Then you have other people come on. You have a production designer who decides how your desk in your office is going to look and a costume designer who may bring in a huge rack of stuff. All of those things go in to make a sort of image and a picture of what someone will look like. Hopefully you do it in connection with all the other departments. You're not showing up in a jacket that, against that wallpaper, looks like hell.
In this movie, there was this transformation that Lester had to go through, and we didn't have the luxury of shooting in sequence. In the morning, we created Lester, and we had his kind of pear-shaped, defeated pasty look with slightly larger costumes and really white, horrible makeup. I slumped a great deal. And then in the afternoon, I'd be shooting the later stuff. I had to be in the best shape possible during the whole shooting of the movie. We just sort of created the earlier stuff in the movie through performance.
Battalion: When you were shooting some of the earlier stuff later in the day, would you go work out?
Kevin Spacey: It's embarrassing to admit, but we had a muscle truck. It was like a roving gym. It was a big moving van, but they made a gym out of it. I'd go in there before a particular scene -- we had target dates for particular scenes -- so we worked toward the target, I and the trainer, knowing I had to have a certain kind of build for that next two weeks. If they needed me to be a little bloated, he would let me go out and eat pizza and banana splits and all sorts of stuff.
Since there was never a moment in the screenplay when there was an epiphany, or a sudden change, we never wanted the audience to see him change. We wanted there to be an almost seamless and organic evolution of who he became.
Battalion: Mentally, what makes you draw into this Lester character?
Kevin Spacey: I just think I understood, maybe like most people do, the feeling of wanting to break out and do new things. I was on that sort of journey for the last couple of years, and this gave me the opportunity to go to a new place. I think everybody understands the feeling of wanting to shake it up and try new things. Who wouldn't want to tell their boss what they're really thinking about them?
Battalion: Lester's transformation was shaped by the music of his youth -- What kind of music shaped your youth?
Kevin Spacey: A lot of that music I loved, and Sam (Mendes, director) was very specific about music very early on about the kind of cuts he was going to try to get. The first issue in movies is "can you get the rights?" Will the songwriter or their estate let you use it? We got very lucky with a lot of cool music. You forget the '70s and the trajectory of what that music was and all the artists. We found something in common. We say "Wow, that's the kind of music I would listen to in my garage." So I listened to a lot of the similar stuff that Lester listened to. He's two years older than me.
Battalion: In the movie, the garage is Lester's personal space. Did you have a choice in the kind of props used in there?
Kevin Spacey: Sam and I started talking about the garage sort of becoming Lester's sanctuary. It clearly had been taken over by just storage, you know. It lost its...whatever a garage might have been in his life earlier. We decided to go back and find all the things Lester would have had if he was still in college. That sort of became his place. He left the cold and rather stark home inside that house and slowly moved his life out into the garage. One of my favorite images is that red car sitting in the driveway. He's just shaking it up.
Battalion: What's your stage background? What was it like having somebody like Sam directing this film?
Kevin Spacey: I've been incredibly fortunate with first-time or second-time directors. I like it a lot because there's no pattern to their way of working. They really are open to almost anything. So you find that they are willing to take more chances. They're not sort of entrenched in their own ideas.
And he kept us informed. He would always show us storyboards and how he wanted a scene to be framed -- what he wanted it to look like, how he wanted us to look in the frame. So I knew all that going in, but I could have never known going in that his use of images, his use of music, his feeling and mood cinematically was startling.
Battalion: I love the narration in the movie. Was it scripted?
Kevin Spacey: All of the narration was there [in the script]. Sam and I, one day, needed a guide track to give the editors and we went up to a small room with a recorder, like these little ones, and we recorded all of Lester’s voice-overs. And I never redid it. There was something about not knowing what those images would be that that dialogue went well with.
Battalion: Your movie shatters the vision of a utopian suburbia. If you had a message you'd like the audience to take away from this, what would it be?
Kevin Spacey: Let me play devil's advocate with the premise of your question because I don't think it reveals anything specifically about suburbia any more than it reveals anything about urban life. I think where this film takes place, the fact that these two very specific families are examined, in no way shape or form means that we're trying to say this is what life is like in suburbia. I think this is what life is like for a lot of people.
Battalion: Tell us about the catchline, "Look Closer".
Kevin Spacey: We actually give our production designer the credit for that. She cut that out of a fashion magazine. She was going through a fashion magazine deciding what should go on certain walls and she decided "look closer" should be on my bulletin board at the office. And that wasn't the campaign, but what happened was, they kept screening the movie and finally the Dreamworks marketing people said "What does that say behind his desk?" So they saved themselves hundreds of thousands of dollars in marketing meetings to find a concept because it actually turns out to be pretty accurate.
Battalion: What would you say to those who are upset that an older man is having a relationship with a teenager?
Kevin Spacey: I think that anybody that feels uneasy about it, it's uneasiness about the subject, not uneasiness with the actual relationship because there isn't one. There's a fantasy life that Lester has. There is no relationship until the very end of the film, where he makes the right decision.
Keep it in the context of the film. Those two people, what they learn from each other, I think is breathtaking. I think its the most uplifting message you could possibly have.
Battalion: The movie is about finding beauty. What things do you find beauty in?
Kevin Spacey: Sometimes the things that are presented as beautiful or the things that we think are beautiful sometimes makes us miss the things that are really truly beautiful, but appear mundane. I think that's true with people, too. People judge people on how they look or how they dress, how they behave and how they act -- I think of the two characters from the film...you first meet them and you think a certain thing about them, And as the film goes on they begin to emerge.
Battalion: You've got the Hollywood star of fame. What is involved with that?
Kevin Spacey: It started with a fan club. They recommended to the Hollywood chamber of commerce that they consider me for that. I didn't think anything happened like that until you were much older. In fact, all of my colleagues who came that day said "we don't know anybody as young as you, that's pretty cool." There's a certain part of that stuff that's a little Hollywood cheesy, but what actually made the day amazing is it actually became a pretty personal thing. I think it meant even more to all the people that have been working with me than it did for me. But I understand already that there's gum on it.

The Promises I Made (2019 Edition)
For the past thirteen years, I’ve spent every New Year’s Eve compiling a list of fifty promises I intend to keep or fulfill over the next twelve months. The results have been truly amazing, and I have kept some promises I never thought I could. 2019 was… a nightmare that I can barely believe I survived, but I still kept some promises that I honestly did not expect I ever could.
This year, for New Year’s, there will be a new set of promises for to me keep, but here are the old ones, for review!
The Promises I Made (2019 Edition)
1) Be more proactive about tracking and following up with struggling students to decrease the number of students who drop from my class when they realize they cannot pass. Status: Somewhat broken? I tried really hard to be proactive with my students; however, there were some massive issues outside the classroom this year that made it extremely difficult to keep the focus on the students. When administration drags your attention away from the class, there is not a lot you can do…
2) Find a place to put in volunteer hours because uhhhh like this is actually important to my work evaluation and I definitely need something to write in that section… Yikes, this spring is my last chance to do this!! @_@ Status: Kept. I volunteered with the Utah Shakespeare Festival and it was super fun!
3) Install the fire escape window in the Utah house, no matter how much it might cost, because I can’t get a totally unrelated tenant in that basement without said window… Status: Somewhat kept. Okay. This one is a LONG story, but to be fair to me, I worked my ASS off to try and make this happen; just every single thing in the world prevented me from completing this promise, up to and including the city telling me I needed a permit AFTER I had already dug a massive hole in the ground for the window…
4) Buy sod to add grass to the front portion of the lawn so that it no longer looks like garbage. Status: Broken, but I did buy grass seed and put that out there. Unfortunately only some of it sprouted, but there is indeed SOME grass now growing there…
5) Fix the bricks near the windowsills on the Utah house to prevent long-term damage. Status: Broken. After dealing with the stupid window disaster, I had no time for this at all.
6) Get a watering system for my roses at the Utah house because I think my bro is probably killing them and that’s just not cool. Status: Broken, see above.
7) Work on the patio at the Utah house before it just flat out falls down. Status: Somewhat broken. Again, I tried to make progress on this—I called a patio guy to come out and assess how much it would cost to fix the patio—but the price I was quoted was so high that there was nothing I could do at the time.
8) Paint the stairwell so that there’s no chance of anything like lead paint or asbestos being exposed. Status: Broken. The leftover wallpaper glue continues to confound me…
9) Trim the backyard bushes so the neighbors don’t hate us anymore… Status: Broken. We trimmed a few bushes and at least got to the trees out front, but definitely a majority were left uncared for.
10) Move into a new house in Texas where I can get real internet, please for the love of god… Status: Kept. I moved into a very nice house with no scorpions!
11) Save money for my upcoming trip to Japan! 2020 baby! Status: Uhhh, broken. I’m not sure how I thought I’d be able to move into a new house AND save money for an international trip at the same time…
12) Get my wisdom tooth removed because it’s still there and still killing me, yikessss. Status: Broken. AUGH. I’m an idiot.
13) Make an appointment with an eye doctor for like the first time in years. Good job, Yehn, good job. Status: Kept. I got my glasses fixed and even got a new pair of glasses too!
14) Get my prescriptions refilled because I’m dwindling on asthma medicine and like… I could die from this… I should never have been left to care for myself; I’m not mature enough for this responsibility… Status: Kept, surprisingly. But I still need a new doctor because the last one I was going to wouldn’t give me any refills…
15) FINISH THE GIVEAWAY PRIZES I PROMISED LAST YEAR because holy shit I am incompetent and the worst and everyone has permission to hate me for starting things and never finishing them, fuck. Status: Broken. So broken. I am the worst.
16) Go dolphin watching in the Gulf for real this time. Seriously, it’s $10 Yehn, you can do this. Status: Kept, amazingly. It wasn’t as impressed as hoped; however, there was a lovely sunset.
17) Return to the Channel Islands to take better pictures. D; Status: Broken. T_T
18) Level all my classes to 70 in FFXIV before next expansion, please. Status: Somewhat broken. I didn’t have everything to 70 before the expansion, but I kind of feel like I should get credit for this one, because HEY, look at me now:
Tumblr media
19) Organize and properly label all the photos on my computer so that I’m no longer desperately combing through folder and folder in blank confusion, looking for a single picture in a sea of thousands… Status: Kept. It took me like eight hours of work, but I actually did this.
20) Update Home and a Half more than once? PLEASE??? The guilt I feel over this currently is crushing. Status: Broken. And the guilt grows…
21) Complete the online American Literature class I am designing on time and with no corrections needed. Status: Kept. I’m counting this as kept even though TECHNICALLY there was one thing I forgot to finish and it came back and bit me in the ass; however, I was approved with no corrections needed.
22) Earn 100% completion for Kingdom Hearts III. So excited! Status: Broken. Um… This just didn’t happen.
23) Update my calendar with important dates—holidays, birthdays, etc.—and be productive about sending cards and well-wishes. Status: Somewhat kept. I wasn’t any better about sending cards really, but I did at least save all the birthdays in my phone so I remember them.
24) Get the garbage disposal in the Texas house fixed ASAP so I don’t have to wash the dishes by hand anymore because I absolutely hate that particular chore. Status: Kept. Then I moved, so it didn’t even matter.
25) Finish all the books my coworkers and friends bought for me recently so I can thank them for their recommendations! Status: Broken. So broken.
26) Actually move into my new place instead of leaving it completely undecorated and lifeless. Status: Remarkably, kept. Nothing has plastic on it, unlike at my old house where the nightstand didn’t get unwrapped even after two years of living there lol.
27) Try hard to get Creative Writing into a different area of the general ed. core so that more people will enroll in it. Status: Kept. I’m counting this because I did my darn best, but we are still waiting on the state to tell us whether or not the class will be accepted.
28) Get caught up on my Ebird reports, even the old, old, old ones I never put in because I was slacking. Status: Kept, actually. Whoo.
29) Throw away/return/sort all the stacks of old mail in the house (OMGGGG they’ve made me look like paper hoarder and I’m nootttt). Status: Broken. There’s just… a lot of papers to go through…
30) Clean up the garage before moving so that I don’t have to fight spiders to move when the time comes. Status: Broken, in that I did not clean up the garage in advance and did, in fact, have to fight spiders when it came time to move.
31) Find a way to boost grading productivity so that each class takes only two days to grade, maximum. Status: Somewhat kept. I was definitely better this year than last year; however, I really think the “two days per class” thing was too optimistic, so for the future semester, I allotted myself three days per class and I think it will work better.
32) Go to a totally new restaurant and try their food. Status: Kept. We went to a Mexican restaurant and I had trompo tacos (al pastor) which is probably not anything special to anyone else but it was my first time so lol.
33) Cancel old credit cards to make sure my credit is good before trying to buy a house (although I just checked my credit score and I’m in the great range already, so this is mostly for posterity’s sake). Status: Broken. But it didn’t affect my loan, so I guess it was okay. And it ended up being good I didn’t cancel my Best Buy card because I was able to get good financing on the new appliances I needed for my house.
34) Get official contracts from my tenants so I can use my rental income in my next loan calculation. Status: Broken, but I ended up not using that as part of the loan calculation anyway >_> so…
35) Talk to an HR rep about my retirement savings so that I can consolidate all my retirement accounts into one. (Man, look at all these ADULTING promises.) Status: Broken. Look at me failing all these adulting promises.
36) Really finish decorating my office so it looks super cute and all my students want to visit me. Status: Broken, but I think it sucks that I have to write this because it was really not my fault I couldn’t finish decorating my office. Our offices were all moved and disrupted by building remodels so I spent the entire year basically working out of a couple cardboard boxes.
37) Not sign up for ANY more new responsibilities at work in the spring semester. This is the biggest challenge. D; Status: Kept, by technicality. I was able to avoid signing up for anything new in SPRING… But fall… was a whole other story. XD
38) Migrate all the rest of my books to the new Texas house instead of leaving them in Utah… SOMEHOW. Status: Kept. I’m going to count this as kept. The only books left at the Utah house are my manga—I managed to bring literally every other book, which is very impressive considering I had only my small Camaro with its tiny truck space.
39) Use my twitter account more often to make it worth following. I will try!! Status: Kept… sorta? I mean, since I didn’t use the account AT ALL before, making even one Twitter post kind of counts as using it more, right? >_>
40) Keep my hair cut nicely so I look less like a mess (than I really am). Status: Somewhat broken. Although I think I got my hair cut more often this year than before, I don’t think I looked any less like a mess. XD
41) Successfully find a bridesmaid dress for my friend’s wedding that matches the rest of the wedding party. Status: Actually kept! It was incredible. The wedding I was in was even featured in a magazine because of how pretty it was!
42) Make sure my skin is in good condition for the wedding so I don’t look like a disturbing ghost… Status: Kept? I mean, in the end, looking like a ghost ended up being the whole point since it was a Halloween themed wedding so I kind of won either way.
43) Complete my BNHA manga collection. Since my bro bought me a bunch of the volumes for Christmas, I might as well. Status: Broken… I bought like… one volume. XD
44) See a groove-billed ani. (It’s another type of bird.) Status: Broken. Very illusive bird. T_T
45) Respond to messages, asks, and comments more quickly. I promise I’m not ignoring people… D; Status: Um, broken. I left many people on read this year, sorry.
46) Lose ten pounds so that I feel more fit and comfy. Status: Broken. I didn’t exercise at all this year, uff.
47) Pay down credit card debt by at least 1/3. Yikesssss, I really need to do this quick. Status: Broken. It’s hard to pay down a credit card when you pour all your money into buying a new house…
48) I will finally fucking finish that chapter 73 analysis of Noragami… I swear to god… Status: Broken. Uh yeah. This didn’t happen. V_V
49) Reach 1700 followers on Tumblr. You should follow me—I’m only marginally a waste of time and space! Status: Kept. Over 2500 followers now!
50) I will keep these promises. LOLLLLL. Status: Somewhat kept/somewhat broken. One year I really will keep them all…
Totals Kept promises: 18 Broken promises: 24 Somewhat kept/broken promises: 8
Well, there are more kept promises than last year at least… It was another really hard year, what with moving in the middle of the year, over-working, dealing with so much drama with the reaccreditation on our campus, and just EVERYTHING all at once this last year… I keep thinking things are going to calm down and then they never do. Please 2020… just let me rest…
My new set of promises will be up on the 1st!

Arplis - News: When you have guests, what is the first thing they see when they walk through your front door? Is there a place to hang their coat? How about a spot to plop a purse?
Like it or not, an entryway can make or break a guest’s pleasant experience in your home because it becomes awkward when there is no dedicated spot to kick off their shoes. But what do you do when your front door leads straight into the living room with no entryway to speak of? You get creative and make one, of course! Take a look at these 25 entryway ideas for your entryway-less home. 25 Ways to Create a Welcoming First Impression for Your Home 1. Grab a Corner An entryway doesn’t need to be a complicated affair. If you have a small corner close to your door, hijack it to work as a foyer space for you! Even just a chair with a pillow on it invites guests to sit and slip off their shoes before they make themselves at home. (via Design Sponge) 2. Wall Hooks If you’re short on floor space when you enter your living room then a coat rack is probably out of the question. But you can easily look up to the wall for some entryway storage space. Provide a row of hooks to hold jackets or hats or purses. A good rule is to have one for each family member, plus a guest hook. (via Camille Styles) 3. Rugs Have you ever noticed how a rug can separate a certain space from the rest? Put a small rug or a runner on the floor by the door and it will create the look of a separate entryway, without having an actual room. (via Design Sponge) 4. Shoe Storage When I was young, I was taught that taking off my shoes when I enter someone’s home was a sign of good manners. If you’ve got the same principle working for you in your home, you’ll want to provide some type of shoe storage near the entry to your home. Whether it is a tray, a mat, or even a basket, you should have a space that clearly tells your guests to leave their shoes there. (via The Curtis Casa) 5. Wallpaper Remember what I said about hijacking a corner for an entryway? Well if you’re going to go all out, don’t be afraid to put up some wallpaper to make the foyer space really stand out. It’s a surefire way to separate the entryway from the living room and it will make you smile every time you get home. (via Nalle’s House) 6. Table Space Sometimes, large entryway furniture is just impossible in your small space. Install a small floating shelf that can greet guests with some flowers and a photo while keeping the floor space clear for shoes and bags. 7. Creative Storage Trying to make a tiny entryway space stand out from the crowd can be a bit difficult. Try thinking outside the box when it comes to storage for a look that’s truly unique. Use an antler or a branch for hooks. Try a crate or a suitcase to hold your shoes. In the end, you will have a look that’s a little bit eclectic and a lot enjoyable. (via Daisy Knows Best) 8. Mirrors Are you afraid that adding an entryway space will make your living room seem smaller? Adding a mirror will dissolve that fear. Not only will it reflect light into the room, but it will also make space look bigger. Plus you’ll be glad you have it when you need those last-minute hair checks before walking out the door. (via Amber Interiors) 9. Gallery Wall A simple way to personalize an entryway space is to add a gallery wall. Whether you choose family photos, inspirational quotes, or beautiful prints, no one entering your home will be able to miss your unique style. 10. Houseplants You were just waiting for this one, weren’t you… Greet your guests with a bit of green in your foyer space. Succulents will do great in low light or you can hang a vining plant if you don’t have the surface space for a pot. Either way, it will definitely liven up your entryway. (via SF Girl By Bay) 11. Entryway Feature Wall Creatively Living shows us how to create this DIY entryway feature wall project that creates a welcoming first impression to any home. As you can see in the project, they removed a previous dark color of paint to give a light and airy feeling to this space when you first enter the hallway. To add more light to the space, add a modern mirror and a lampshade into the area, which will create a warm welcome to your house. This compact table also provides plenty of storage space to keep anything from finding its way onto the floor and cluttering up your home. 12. A Hook Wall For anyone who is sick and tired of their family members dropping coats on the floor or the furniture when they get home, you’ll love this DIY hook wall from The DIY Mommy. This board and batten wall is perfect for the entry to your home and gives a little more character to the space than a standard hook wall organizer. It’s a simple project to complete yet will look absolutely stunning in any home. Add hooks at different heights if you have younger children, so they’ll have a designated space to store their coats when they return home from school each day. 13. A Family Organizer If you have a large family, it’s so important to try and keep the entryway clean and tidy, so you aren’t tripping over items when you pass through the door. We love this family organizer from Family Handyman, which creates a functional yet stylish locker system. The best way to keep your home tidy is to assign everyone their own space to put their belongings. There’s enough room here to add backpacks and everything else you might need to grab quickly on your way out each day as you head to school or work. 14. Storage Baskets The Blissful Bee shares this entryway project which uses large storage baskets to keep junk and shoes hidden from view. We love how easily these baskets fit underneath the table, and their material and texture suit the décor of this home perfectly. As they are tucked away, you can’t see anything that’s inside the basket, so you can hide everything that would otherwise be left on the floor from view. They are perfect for kids who have backpacks and items for school, as they can just dump them inside the basket when they return home each afternoon. 15. An All-in-One Storage Device For anyone who is short of space in their entryway, we recommend creating an all-in-one storage solution in your home. The Weekend Country Girl shows us how to make this unique project that uses an old dresser and transforms it into a storage area and seating for your entryway. This piece of furniture will be a really unique addition to your home and is also extremely functional for your entryway. We love the pale color that it’s been painted in for this project, as it won’t feel too chunky in even the smallest entryway. 16. Storage Crates The Verden shares this fun storage idea for an entryway. It’s a great way to minimize the floor space you use and can make a colorful and bold statement at the entryway to your home. Households can designate each member of the family a space to store their bags, shoes, and books. You can paint each crate a different color for some variety and personalization or make them all a more neutral shade to blend in with your walls. Crates come in all shapes and sizes, so this project is suitable for any home. 17. Boot Tray Families who enjoy spending time outdoors know how tricky it can be to deal with muddy boots when you enter back into your home. If you have light carpets or rugs, you risk staining the material, and it can be very challenging to remove mud stains. This boot tray is the ideal way to store dirty or wet boots and shoes and won’t take up much space in your entryway. Southern Revivals shows us how to make a boot tray from scratch in this simple DIY project for your home. 18. Use A Nearby Closet Homes that are blessed with a closet near their entryway can utilize this space to create a hidden storage area. Abby Lawson has transformed a closet into a complete storage solution for her home, and these clear drawers make storing smaller items much easier. Even a tiny closet can provide ample room for storage, and kids can have a drawer for their school books or stationary. In the winter, you’ll also appreciate having somewhere to put gloves, hats, and scarves, which often get lost if they are left out in the entryway. 19. Storage for Bags and Backpacks I’m Bat Mom offers us this simple DIY project that would be ideal for families with a few children who are of school age. You can personalize each child’s space with their name on the board or add a fun message to make them smile before they head to school each day. The great thing about this project is that it doesn’t require much space at all but will clear bags, coats, and other accessories off the floor and onto the wall. It’s a fun project for a free weekend and will completely transform the entryway to your family home. 20. Hanging Bike Storage For anyone who loves to cycle but struggles to find space in their apartment or home to keep their bike, consider hanging bike storage. Your bike will not only have a place in your home when not in use but also will look like a funky piece of modern art on your wall. IKEA Hackers shows you how to create the mounts for your bike, and this project will barely take any time for you to complete this weekend. 21. Tiny Console Table We all need a space to drop our keys and smaller items when we return home. However, in many homes and apartments, we are limited for space for a full table or cabinet in the entryway. Hey, Let’s Make Stuff shares this console table which barely sticks out from the wall yet is big enough to put your keys, phone, and mail on. The best thing about this idea for your entryway is that it only costs $22 to make, so it is a solution to fit anyone’s budget when redecorating this year. 22. A Genius Shelving Unit Sometimes you need to think outside of the box when it comes to making the most of your entryway. We love this project from Hunker that combines two shelves to give you somewhere to hang keys and important items. However, you’ll also enjoy a beautiful mood board where you can add plants, notes, or any other accessories you like to brighten up a modern entryway. 23. Organize Your Mail Mail and important documents can easily get scattered all over an entryway. This idea from IKEA Hackers uses a napkin holder to make a hanging mail organizer for your home’s entrance. You won’t have a stack of mail on your side table anymore, and you can literally put this on any small space on your wall. It’s perfect for entryways of any size or shape, and you can always add one per person in your family if you have a lot of mail or paper floating around. 24. Narrow Family Command Center Many homes lack the width that’s needed for a family command center with seating in their home. The Creativity Exchange shares this DIY project that barely sticks out from the wall but provides the hanging and storage space you would need for a whole family. Everyone has a hook for their coat and bag, and you can add hats and scarves in the winter as well. We love the addition of baskets underneath, keeping school items and accessories off the floor and hidden from view. 25. A Simple Bench The Merrythought shows us how to make this simple bench that will add some much-needed seating to your entryway. If you are trying to create a minimalistic look in your entryway, this is the perfect solution. The addition of a couple of pieces of art or wall hangings above will also add some character to any home’s entrance. Underneath the seat, you’ll find space to store everyone’s shoes, so they’ll be kept neatly off the floor. Conclusion All of these ideas can be combined to create the perfect entryway for your home. Even if you are limited on space in your home, you’ll find some unique ideas here which can provide you with storage for your whole family. Make the most of your walls, closets, and tables to keep clothing and shoes off the floor and tucked away to avoid any visitors tripping over. You don’t need to spend a fortune to transform this area of your home. With a little imagination, you can create a fantastic first impression for anyone who steps foot in your house or apartment. Female Cat Spraying Everywhere Startling Useful Ideas
It is important because problems in feline can be enhanced with catnip you are - at the base and moving to the veterinarian that are watered down essentially saturate the area try to buy a new designed for grace and agility. Are Cat fleas can lay fifty eggs a day, orThese things work with some catnip is good enough for your current cat - castration in males, spaying in females.Cat owners need to use on the cat after surgery can be a time until your cat decides to eliminate organic disease as a way of getting a larger litter box can be rewarding your cat sometimes?
And even better, by providing healthy food will save on vet bills. Then, as an inhalant for humans and it stays indoors.Cats with these boxes is especially an issue if you buy is enamel or plastic.Check your litter box clean and avoids dirty places.Perhaps the most effective cleaning solution to reducing their motivation to spray.

Author’s note: Whoaaa i was so excited to post this lmao. It’s kinda long because I needed to shorten the number of parts (i didn’t want a 20 chapter long fanfiction). I think that Namjoon as father would be so good so I couldn’t help myself in not post something like that someday. Hope you reaaally enjoy this. ♥
P.S: I did a fmv based on this fic, hope you enjoy it too! FMV
That day was rainy and the wind was strong. Even if was only 3p.m it seems to be almost night because of the cloudy sky. Everyone on Seoul streets seemed too busy to care about how desperate Namjoon was while walking in the middle of the crowd; pushing his brown hair back he tried to call again to his boss, he needed to do this twice until the man pick his phone up.
“Yes, Sr. Kim?” The rough voice spoke through the phone making he gets some chills down his spine.
“Sr. Park, I really want to talk about that change” Namjoon was straightforward while walking towards a near café.
“I thought that everything was very clear, Sr. Kim.”
“I know that we already talked, but this is impracticable! I have lots of projects in that company, some of them are already getting ready to launch!”
He entered in the café holding his phone with one hand and choosing the coffee with the free hand, walking to a small table near the window.
“I’ll take care of it, but please, Sr. Kim, you are the most capable among your colleagues.” The old man sighed in the phone before continue to speak. “It’ll be better for you there. You’ll get promoted, will have a higher salary, more free time to your daughter…”
Ouch!
It was his weakness.
Kim Nam Sun was his only and beloved daughter. It was so hard to say ‘no’ for anything that will be good for her — yet bad for him. Namjoon was about to refuse again, but sighed instead.
“How much free time I’ll have?” he asked curiously while thanked the girl who brought his coffee with a small smile.
“Twice a week you’ll have a day off. The work isn’t that hard either.”
Tempting.
Kim Namjoon never was so tempted since he saw the game that Nam Sun wanted to her birthday and was almost get him a heart attack because of its expensive price.
“I’ll really have this or you’re just lying again to me?” he asked suspiciously drinking another gulp of the coffee.
“When did I lie to you?” Sr. Park yelled through the line and cleared his throat after. “Look, we can’t deny the ask coming from the main company neither we can’t send someone who can’t handle the situation.”
Another sigh and Namjoon nodded, realizing some seconds after that his boss couldn’t see him.
“Okay, okay. I’m going, but you need to keep your word.”
They talked for some more minutes about how everything was going to work and they hang up. The man finished his coffee and sighed defeated. He really liked his work, his colleagues and was okay about the salary that he was receiving. Of course, receiving more wasn’t bad, but working for the main company? It could be harder than before and he was afraid that he ended losing his job.
And lose his job isn’t an option when you have a seven years old daughter.
He stood up thoughtful and walked toward the cashier to pay his coffee. While taking off the money he saw a pretty box decorated with pink butterflies and cute cupcakes inside.
“Can you please give me that pink box?”
-
Nam-sun would like these cupcakes, he thought while walking towards the bus stop. Namjoon looked at each cupcake carefully, they were pretty and decorated with crowns, butterflies and hearts, and definitely she’d like all of them!
He took off his cellphone to look at the hours, but get distracted; his wallpaper was him and his lovely daughter playing in the park together. He remembered that day very clearly, they had so much fun...
“Oh it’s almost time to pick her.” He mumbled to himself when he saw the hours. The bus came in the right time, quickly he got in and seated near the window. Took that bus made him remember so many things and most of them he wanted to forget.
-
When the bus stopped near a school, Namjoon get out and started to search among the crowd of kids and mothers his little girl. He asked to some teacher about her and she guided him towards the class where the girl where waiting patiently for him.
“Nam-sun, your dad is here!”  The teacher said loudly enough for her to listen at the opposite side of the class. She smiled when her small bright eyes saw her dad standing there and ran to him, hugging his legs and waist tightly.
“How are you, princess?” He asked sweetly to her while caressing her hair.
“I’m okay, dad!” She answered smiling and let go of him to get her backpack. “Can we go now?” she asked and he nodded holding her hands and thanking the teacher before go.
While walking towards the exit, Namjoon saw some mothers that had children in the same class as Nam-sun, and waved to them friendly.
“Ah, Namjoon!” one of them shouted, making him stop near the exit and he turned back to see a woman holding hands of two children, she was smiling even if her children were shouting and fighting. “Don’t forget the parent’s reunion next week, okay?”
“Oh, I won’t! Thanks Sae-ra, see you tomorrow!” He thanked her and bowed before leave with his daughter.
Their apartment weren’t far from the school, that’s why they always walked back home.
Nam-sun was the sweetest child alive for him, she was seven years old and was very talkative and energetic. Everyday she’d talk about how her day was on school and what she did with her friends or what her teachers taught her and how every single thing happened along the day.
Namjoon loved her so much that his heart ached only to think that someone could hurt her, but unfortunately, she was already hurt.
The air was tense in the large and luxurious room.
The clock ticking non-stop in the other side of the room was making chills run down his spine; beside the clock no other noise could be heard there. In front of him there was a large wood table, amounts of papers carefully organized on the right side, a laptop on the center and some stuff on the left side. The decoration also was very pretty; vases with plants, near the door, some brown chairs around and huge shelves with books and ceramic ornaments occupying the back wall.
Everything there made him hesitant, but nothing could compare with the sharp gaze coming from a pair of dark brown eyes.
The fancy woman was sat behind the large table with some papers — probably his — in her hands. She seemed quite tall, was dressed in a pretty black dress and a white coat was resting on the left side of the table, her heels were making noise as they hit softly the wooden floor, making him even more nervous.
However, he couldn’t deny one thing: she was beautiful. Her long face always held a strong feeling, those dark brown eyes carefully contoured by black eyeliner and red lips made her even more powerful.
“Well… Kim Namjoon…” she started with a sharp voice and he sat correctly on the chair. “You were highly recommended by the director in Ilsan, do you know that right?”
He nodded and gave her a slightly smile.
“I do! I’m honored to be here, in the main company.”
“You should be.” She lifts up her eyes to meet his and then put the papers on the table. “Your curriculum is quite impressive as well.” Her voice echoed through the whole office and then hit his ears like music. “You can start tomorrow, okay? I had some work left by the previous translator that I need in urge. My secretary is going to take you to your area.”
He stood up, but didn’t leave.
“Excuse me, but, Mr. Park told me that twice a week I’d have a day off, then…”
“Then do you want to be sure about it?” He nodded and she sighed, standing up too. “You’re a very special case, Mr. Kim.”
“Special…?”
“Yes, Mr. Park begged me to hire you; he told me that you were too ‘big’ for an Ilsan’s filial, that you deserved more. That’s why I’m treating you in a special way, so be grateful and do your best here, okay?” The seriousness in her tone made him avoid her gaze and look to his own feet.
“Thank you, Mrs. I’ll do my best here.” Namjoon bowed, then turned around and leave.
Kang Yerim, the director’s secretary, was waiting outside the office and guided him towards the main places in the company, introducing those who were important for him to know at the first moment, the timetable, where he was going to work and some of his coworkers.
Every single part in that company seemed to be twice more expensive and bigger than his previous company, that somehow made him uncomfortable; he was a simple man, luxurious things didn’t suit him too much, that’s why he was hesitant to accept that offer.
But, it’s going to be his new start for him and for his daughter.
-
Namjoon never ran so much in his life.
His legs were tremble and he thought that he couldn’t made it on time.
And he didn’t.
But wasn’t so late than he thought. Nam-sun’s school was in Ilsan and his new work in Seoul, so the way was longer now. He entered in the building a little embarrassed for being late, his mind forget completely about the parent’s reunion, he was so busy lately with the papers of his transference and with some researches.
With fast paces he was searching Nam-sun’s class in the corridor; when he found, immediately opened the door and searched his daughter among the children, founding her sat in the small chair alone while all the others were with their mothers.
All the gazes were for him when he stepped in. The teacher seemed surprise, like the others mothers, but a big smile was formed in his little girl’s face. It made his running worth.
“I’m really sorry, Mrs. Oh.” Namjoon bowed to show how sorry he was. “I had an interview in Seoul today and it took me more time than expected. I’m really sorry.”
Mrs. Oh smiled and then pointed to the vague sit near Nam-sun, the man walked and sat there, still breathless.
“Don’t worry, Mr. Kim. You aren’t that late, but someone was very worried about you.” Her look shifted from him to the girl sat beside him.
Namjoon kneeled in front of her and hugged her tightly; she put her small arms around her father’s neck and hugged him too.
“I was worried that I’d be alone.” She whispered with a sad tone and it broke his heart so much that he felt his air disappear from his lungs.
“You… You will never be alone, okay? I’m always right here for you, my princess.” He replied and then kissed her forehead before stood up and sat again. Some mothers were looking to them with a pitiful gaze, but it didn’t bother him.
Just because her mother wasn’t there, it doesn’t mean that she doesn’t receive love or that he couldn’t take care of her, actually it was the opposite. They relation never lack love even for a moment, they trust in each other, they were a truly family.
“Oh, Mr. Kim, do you want some snacks?” The teacher came with a small tray with some sandwiches and sliced fruits; he nodded and took a sandwich. “Do you want some too, Nam-sun?” the little girl nodded and took the small bowl with sliced fruits, what made him happy to see her eating well.
After some talking about the timetables, the classes and extra classes, the teacher used a slide to show some graphics and images and explain things in a better way.
“So, the school is going to have a healthy way to handle with the children.” She explained while pointing to some images of simple exercises with children. “We are going to have some time before and after their classes, and an especial day on the week to make a small running around the park near. Also, we want you, parents, to help them with their alimentation; here we’re going to give them some fruits, natural food and juices, but we want you to help us.” She passed the slides and it showed some pictures of foods that were healthier. “Give them some of these kind of food in your home too, so they can get used to it. We are very worried about the state of children’s health nowadays; everything has too much salt and sugar, so we hope that with that the next generation could have a healthier future.”
“Excuse me, but I think that the parents need to change their alimentation as well.” Namjoon said. “It’s very hard to try to convince a child to do something that we don’t do.”
Mrs. Oh and others mothers nodded at his statement.
“You’re right, Mr. Kim. It needs to affect the whole family to really happen. But not everyone is really willing to do it completely, that’s why we are making something that is going to work. However, now I need to trust you to help yourself and your family.” The teacher explained smiling. “Send your children with natural sandwiches and some fruits that they like as well.”
After some more talking and explanations, they were free to go. Namjoon walked towards the teacher and took the attendance paper to sign and she held his hands softly, making him a little startled.
“It was very good that you could make it today, Mr. Kim.” She said with a soft smile and he smiled back, a little confused about to answer.
“Yeah, Nam-sun was relying on me, so I couldn’t disappoint her.” He answered and she let go of his hands to take something behind her.
“Ah, and take it. It’s a list of some kind of natural foods that you can do for her, they are easy to do.” She gave to him a sheet.
“Oh, thank you. It’s gonna be very useful.” He thanked and then a familiar voice called him, Nam-sun was waiting for him near the door and he saw the perfect opportunity to leave. “Well, I need to go. See you next week, Mrs. Oh.”
“See you, Mr. Kim.”
Quickly Namjoon leave the classroom and walked to his daughter, who was laughing alone. Playfully she ran towards the exit and he followed her, already knowing what she was thinking. He held one of her hands took her backpack and then started to walk to home slowly.
“I think that Mrs. Oh likes you, dad.” She said and he laughed rolling his eyes.
“What are you saying? You’re only seven years old, you don’t know stuffs like this.” He denied, in complete surprise. Since when she knows about what is like someone? Does she like someone in her school?
“I do know stuffs like this. It’s like the stories that I see, the girl falls in love with the prince.”
Namjoon laughed loudly at that.
“First of all, I’m not a prince, second of all, you should stop seeing so many things like this.” he spoke in disbelief that things nowadays are making the children know this kind of stuff. In his times, things weren’t that way.
-
After they arrive home, his mom called him to say that she was going to pick Nam-sun up in one hour.
It was usual now, every weekend, Namjoon’s mom would stay with her granddaughter; they live on opposite parts of the city so they can’t see each other often. Also, Nam-sun loves there, where her grandmother lives there’s parks, playgrounds and she had lots of friends there.
Quickly the girl took a shower and changed her clothes into something comfortable, the man finished to fill her backpack with some toys, books that she likes and some clothes — most of them he bought only to his mom keep them there for when Nam-sun stays.
Exactly one hour after, someone knocked the door and the girl rushed to open.
“GRANDMA!” she shouted while hugging the lady standing outside.
Namjoon’s mom, were a young old lady with hers 57 years old, she was still very active. She helped him when he was left to take care alone of his daughter, she even moved to his apartment during her baby’s days. He couldn’t say how grateful he was.
She even taught him the basic of how to cook without kill your daughter or burn his kitchen.
“Mom, how are you?” he asked while hugging her tightly.
“I’m doing fine, what about you?”
“I’m good, too.”
“I’m good too, grandma!” Nam-sun spoke while jumping around them, making both of them laughed.
“Of course you are, my dear. Now go grab your things and we’re going.”
Nam-sun nodded and rushed to her room.
Namjoon and his mom hugged again and talked a little more about some random topics before the little girl came back jumping around like a dark haired bunny.
“I’m ready, bye dad!” she hugged him, kissing his cheeks before walking outside.
“Take care, Nam-sun, call me every day, right?”
“Yes dad!”
“Don’t worry, I’ll bring her alive on the Sunday.” His mother rolled her eyes with so much protectiveness, she blew a kiss to him and then left too.
He lay on the couch and heard the silence fill the house, at times like this he could even hear the sound of his new neighbor cleaning his house or the person from the floor above him walking heavily; Namjoon sighed and closed his eyes after.
“I hate this silence.”
Namjoon woke up early in that Saturday.
It was his first day in the new company so he tried his best to not arrive late. Dressed in a pale blue shirt, dark blue blazer and a black jeans, he choose don’t use too much his casual style — that he was used to dress in his past company —, he didn’t know how they normally dressed there, but didn’t want to make a bad impression in his first day.
While eating the breakfast a new message popped up in the screen of his phone, it was the car workshop, saying that his car was finally done. It was about two months that other car crashed into his badly and he had to take the bus every day.
The day have started really well, the only bad thing in all of this was Nam-sun’s absence.
-
“As you already know, this will be your desk.” Yerim, the secretary who helped him yesterday said with a bright smile in her face. She was guiding him to his station; when they entered all the eyes landed on the man. “Most of them are translators as well, but they work with different languages and in different areas.”
He looked at them with the gentlest expression that he could do; most of the workers were women with different ages, but he saw some men at the end of the room.
The room itself was huge, clean and surrounded with big windows. There were at least ten tables — a table for worker — with computers, chairs and books and papers everywhere. However everything seemed to be very strict and clear, very different from his past company, where everyone was a mess with their documents and archives.
“Guys, this is our new English-Korean translator, Kim Namjoon, from Ilsan.” The secretary spoke excitedly, suddenly the workers started to stand up and walk towards him to greet him.
He wasn’t expecting so much kindness, actually he expected that coldness would predominate there, it was odd, but he liked the first impression of everyone.
“Well, let’s introduce everyone.” Yerim walked towards them and organized everyone in a line in front of him before speak again. “Kwon Sunhee, Japanese.” She pointed to a young and cute girl and then continued to quickly introduce everyone and their areas. “Yoon Sungmin, Chinese. Go Naeun, French. Bom Haenim, Portuguese. Choi Sanghun, Italian. Min Yoongi, Spanish. Hae Chaerin, she works with international publicity. Jung Hoseok, Arabian and… That’s all for now.” She finished a little breathless. Namjoon was shocked, but bowed and smiled to everyone.
“It’s really nice know all of you.” He greeted sincerely. “I had no idea how big this company could be. In Ilsan we just have to work with English and Chinese.” The man spoke a little embarrassed for being so surprised.
Yerim held his hands to show him his desk, it makes him a little uncomfortable — he still didn’t get why everyone just take his hands in theirs every single time—, but wasn’t something that could kill him, that’s why he preferred stay silent.
“This is your desk. You can organize your things here and then start your work.”
“Oh, yes. Thank you, Yerim; you helped me really much.” He bowed to her to show his gratitude and she smiled seeming a little embarrassed.
“It’s my pleasure to help you.” She said politely and kindly. “Well, I need to go now, D.Boss will cut my head off if I get late. See you later, guys.” She ran through the corridors until gets off of sight.
Namjoon was with his things packed in a box that Nam-sun insisted to organize and decorate with flower sticks and colorful drawings. He smiled while taking and opening it; his desk was already clean and with the basics, so he could just decorate with his personal things.
It was quite big and had small walls at the sides, and of course, white. He started to take off some picture frames of him and Nam-sun and of him and his parents, andof his parents and Nam-sun, also some papers and books that he used to consult, and a small surprise was some Polaroids of him, his daughter, his parents and other things that Nam-sun took photos — like the sky, letters, books, toys and parks. He gave her an Instant Camera at her last birthday and she loved it, but he didn’t expect her to put her photos in his box.
Namjoon didn’t notice his own smile with the photos until someone taps his shoulders.
“Whoa, who is this little girl? Your sister?” a woman asked curiously pointing to Nam-sun’s image in the Polaroid. He didn’t memorize her name, but was the Japanese translator girl.
“She is my daughter.” The shocked expression in her face was common for him now; almost nobody suspected that he had a daughter. Well, he was really young though.
“What? Really?” he nodded and gave her one of the pictures of his sweetheart. “Are you married?”
“No, I’m not.” He smiled and she gave him back the picture. “You can say that I’m divorced.”
“Wow, I didn’t expect that. How old is she?”
“She’s seven years old.” Another shook expression came from her. “And I’m twenty-six years old, if it’s what are you going to ask.” He said kindly, chuckling and looking away for some moments to stick the Polaroids in the small walls of his desk. “I was really young when Nam-sun was born. You can say it was a surprise.” a sweet joke left his lips making her giggle.
“Oh, I see.” She said smiling. “Anyways she’s really pretty, she resembles you.” It was a simple phrase, but Namjoon loved so much to hear it, was something that always relieved him.
“Thank you!”
They exchange some more words to know a little better each other before she walk back to her desk. Namjoon tried his best to let everything organized, but he was too messy to it, so he let it be and started to work.
-
During the lunch time, Yerim came with others, Sunhee and Naeun, carrying food for everyone. In their bags had a little bit of everything, so they could serve themselves. They said that usually didn’t go to the refectory because of the work so Namjoon stayed there with them. All of them were chatting about funny things that happened there, but the man was really into a deep conversation with Min Yoongi, he was a year older than him and worked with Spanish — language that he was trying to learn since the last year. The older gave him some tips that could help him to learn faster.
“Gosh, D.Boss is soooo annoying!” Yerim complained furious and everyone laughed.
“D.Boss? Are you talking about Mrs.___?” Namjoon asked confused and they nodded, then he spelled her name trying to find the letter D in it, but her name didn’t have one. “But her name doesn’t have D in it.”
“This D came from Demon.” Yoongi explained simply and he suppressed a laugh.
“A-ah…” the others laughed at his reaction and tried to explain the reasons for that so he could understand better the situation.
“She’s a monster, always full of herself just because of her position and money. Everyone says that our previous English translator left because she treated him so badly.” Hoseok explained with the creepiest tone he had. “That’s why you should be careful around her and-”
“Did this company pays you to be chatting and eating like this?” a voice sounded out of nowhere scared all of them, mainly Namjoon who was too concentrate in their stories to pay attention to his surroundings.
Y/N, the D.Boss, was standing at the door with his dark make up, red lips, long brown hair and wine dress expressing how the scene of the translators — and her secretary — eating and gossiping was disgusting to her.
“Back to work, the time for lunch is over.” She announced with the serious tone of hers before changing the gaze for Yerim. “You, come. I have a meeting to prepare.”
The secretary stood up sadly and waved a goodbye for them.
“Come on, let’s work.” Yoongi said throwing his trash at the bin.
Namjoon stood up and did the same, walking towards his desk. When he took the papers to work, a shining thing caught his attention. Candies where at the end of his box, he smiled to himself taking the small pot and put some of them at his desk before offers to his colleagues; Nam-sun was so kind to remember that he works better with something sweet, mainly when he feels nervous.
And right now, nervousness was the only thing he could feel.
Was too late to go back to Ilsan?
-
“What? She isn’t here?” Jin asked shocked and sighed in disbelief. “Shit.”
“I thought that I was your friend, you traitor.” Namjoon hit him with his feet while the man was passing besides him.
Kim Seokjin was two years older than him and his friend from university. A hard-to-believe twenty-eight man, married with an amazing woman and with a little son, Seo-Joon, at the same age of Nam-sun. Their children were very friends almost since they were babies. Jin worked at the same company that Namjoon used to work, but in the publicity area.
“Yah, I really wanted to see Nam-sun, but since she isn’t here, let’s talk about something serious.” He sat at the couch were the translator was lying down watching the movie at the TV.
“Serious? Like how you’re getting older and ugly?” Namjoon teased laughing and Jin threw a stuffed animal that was near.
“Yah! I’m just getting better with the age okay? I’m like wine.” He defended himself and laughed too, but then his expression was filled with seriousness again. “Now, seriously, I have something to tell you.” He stated and then breathed in before speak. “I think I saw her.”
Immediately Namjoon sat up and looked at him with widen eyes, Jin almost could see those dark eyes begging for his laugh and joking expression but neither of them could come.
“Stop joking, hyung.”
“I’m not, Namjoon.” He sighed again. “I was leaving the company last week and I saw someone that really looks like her walking around Nam-sun’s school.”
“It’s impossible…” the younger mumbled and massaged his forehead with his eyes shut.
“I’m still not sure, but I thought that was better warning you.”
He nodded and then sighed deeply standing up and walking towards the kitchen, taking a glass of water to calm his nerves down.
“Yeah, thanks hyung. I’ll be careful for now on.”
Really careful, he repeated to himself multiple times. He decided a long time ago that nothing would hurt his Nam-sun again.
Nothing.
“Daddy!” a high-pitched voice echoed through the living room.
Sunday night came and with it, Nam-sun too. It was almost eight hours, he already had his dinner alone — if he knew that she’d arrive so early he’d have waited a little more. His mother was holding a yellow backpack, grinning while closing the door behind her.
“Princess!” Namjoon exclaimed happily and opened his arms widely just for the girl jump in it. He hugged her tightly, spinning and lifting her playfully. “I missed you so bad!” he said in a low tone and she smiled.
“Me too, dad!”
They broke the hug and he put her sat in the couch, walking towards his mother who just watched the scene with a wide smile on her face. He kissed her forehead and took the bag placing it on the floor near the couch.
“How are you mom?”
“Sad to say goodbye to my little girl.” she said stroking his hair gently, sitting in the couch near Nam-sun. The man followed them and sat too.
“Just for a week, mom.” he said smiling and rolling his dark eyes. That lady was so dramatic when she wanted to.
“It pass so slowly!” they laughed at her statement.
The talk flowed easily, Nam-sun spoke about her weekend at her grandma’s house and her friends there, Namjoon about his job in the new company and how everyone was nice and gentle — except for D.Boss, of course — and his mom lamented about how the weekend passed fast.
The older one left after almost one hour and half, leaving them alone in the apartment. The man turned to see his daughter half asleep in the couch.
“Nam-sun, you need take a shower before sleep.” he said softly, shaking her slowly and the girl nodded, walking towards the bathroom.
He took her floral pajamas and gave to her before she enters in the shower. Quickly he prepared her bed, taking her pink blanket and turning on the table lamp. Nam-sun’s room was quite big, all decorated with pink and white things, shelves with books and stuffed animals, a comfortable bed near the window — she liked being waked by the sunlight — and a wardrobe in the other wall. He bought everything she wanted to decorate the room when they moved to that new apartment, almost three years ago.
When the girl entered in the room, with her cute pajama and messy hair, he smiled at the sight and she jumped in the bed covering herself in the blankets.
“Dad, can you read a history for me?” she asked looking straight into his eyes and he nodded, walking towards a shelf and taking a book that he had bought some weeks ago.
“Why do you want me to read for you today?” he questioned while sitting next to her in the bed, stroking gently her bangs.
“Anything. I just missed your voice reading for me.”
He couldn’t deny he was touched by these words. The past few weeks have become a big mess, a new company, more work to do… He had forgotten to give her enough attention.
“I’m sorry, sweetheart. I’ll read more stories for you from now on, okay?” he promised and she lift her pinky to him, making the man chuckle before intertwine his fingers with hers.
“Pinky promise?”
“Pinky promise!” He smiled and opened the first page of the book. “The girl and the wind.” his low voice echoed, he read the title and breathed in before flip the page and continue. “Once in a small city, a little girl called Bo-ra asked the wind if it knew how was the world. On the other day, she asked why it was so cold during the winter. Everyday she would came with a different question for the wind, but no one answered her...”
He continued the story in the same velvet voice until Nam-sun fell asleep. His eyes landed on her small face, chubby cheeks, pinkish lips, flawless skin, long brown hair and a gentle expression. Everyday he talked to himself about how lucky he was to have her in his life, actually, she is his life. Without her near him everything seemed monochrome.
Silently, he placed a small kiss on her forehead and covered her better with the blanket before pip-toe towards the door and close it softly.
He headed to the living room again and organized better the space; tomorrow was his day off and he planned to spend the morning with Nam-sun — maybe took her to a library or something like that  — and at the night, after her school they could go to the cinema and watch a new movie.
“Yeah, that sounds good.” he said to himself proudly while turning off the lights and locking the door. Sleepy, the man made his way towards his own bedroom.
It was simple decorated with monochrome colors, like black, gray and white. His bed was quite big for him alone, but Nam-sun always opposed when he talked about buy a smaller, she loved it because she could sleep with him when she got nightmares. The translator also loved art, his bedroom was full of paintings and small sculptures, in the nightstand near his bed there were some frames with him, his parents and his daughter in the park near there.
Namjoon was so tired that night.
He only realized that when he took a warm shower and jump into his oversized bed and turned off the lights. It didn’t take him too long for him to fall asleep.
“Daddy! Daddy wake uuuup!” the familiar voice echoed through his room hitting right into his sleepy mind. “Daddy! It’s getting late!”
“Nam-sun...” it was all that he could mumble in his semi-unconscious state; he rolled in the bed trying sleep a little more, but she jumped into his bed and started to shake him. “Let me sleep a little more!”
“No! Today is your day off and we need to enjoy!” she exclaimed pulling his arm with all her strength, but it wasn’t too useful since his body didn't move an inch.  “Daddy!”
Namjoon sighed before open his eyes and met her pouted face, he smiled before sat on the bed; the little girl jumped in his arms and hugged him tightly, breaking the hug seconds after.
“Where are we going today?” she asked excitedly with thousands of ideas coming in her mind.
“I was thinking about going to the library to buy new books for us and then we could have lunch in that restaurant that you like.” he said his plan for their morning, approaching a little more to her, he started to fix that messy hair of hers while stroking it gently.
A big smiled was formed into her face and her expression brighten with his words. She loved going to the library with him, since she was a baby he teaches her to read a lot of different books, until now it works well. Even his scientific books she likes to read sometimes.
“I saw a really good book in the school these days, maybe we can search it in the library!”
“Let’s search it then!” he agreed and then stood up from the bed, stretching his body lightly. “Go take your shower and choose pretty clothes, okay?”
“Okay!”
Quickly she jumped off the bed and rushed towards her room excitedly. He grinned to see his daughter so happy, was a long time since they went out to have some fun, just both; honestly he was anxious too.
He choose some basic red shirt with a picture of an old man in the front — until now he didn’t know why he bought that, but was very comfortable —, blue jeans and black casual shoes. His bedroom was gifted with a bathroom only for him, so he didn’t need to wait for Nam-sun gets ready.
She loved to brush her hair for a long time, making sure that it was truly perfect, that’s why he loved that apartment with two bathrooms.
In instants he was ready to leave, walking towards the living room he stopped when saw Nam-sun struggling to get a ponytail done, a smile formed in his face before entering into her room.
“Need some help?” he teased and she pouted letting go of her hair, nodding after.
“Please.”
Namjoon sat on her bed and called her to sat beside him, quickly he finish the ponytail — not so amazing, but enough for her; she thanked and stood up, spinning in front of him, waiting for his compliments to her looks.
She was beautifully dressed with a green shirt with flower pattern in the whole fabric, black jeans and black shoes, her hair done with a ponytail, she also had some colorful bracelets with different phrases and jewels shapes.
“Whoa… My little girl is so pretty!” he complimented with a huge smile and she turned again happily.
“Thank you dad!”
Didn’t took them too long to leave the house and find a near café, he thought that could be better eat the breakfast outside since his cooking skills weren't too good.
After eat they headed to the library, where they spent the most part of the morning, reading and searching for the books that they wanted to buy. The place was big and had amounts of different styles of books, starting with children books to scientific themes.
“I already choose the ones that I want, what about you?” the girl asked with three or four books in her small hands, he offered to carry them, but she denied. “I can carry them, dad, thanks!”
“Right, so we can go pay for them now.” he said walking towards  the cashier, he was focused on confirming the title of the books that he choose, making sure that he didn’t forget any of them that didn’t see the moment that his little girl bumped in someone’s back, just realizing when the sound of a crash startled him.
Nam-sun’s groan made his heart sank instantly; he put his books on the floor and kneeled to check on her. She wasn’t hurt, just startled by the sudden crash, he helped her to stand up and the books from the floor.
“Are you okay?” he asked to her a little worried and she nodded, but with her eyes focused on someone in front of her. That was when he noticed that someone else was involved. “Oh, Nam-sun please apologize with the Ms… ___?” his tone changed when he lift his eyes to met the already familiar face.
D.Boss was standing there with her usual dark clothes and strong make-up; her hair falling perfectly over her shoulders. Her sharp gaze shifted from the girl to him.
“Ah, Mr. Kim.” that was all that left her reddish lips.
“Good morning, Ms. ___… Hm, y-you aren’t hurt right?” he asked trying to be the kindest person alive in that moment. She shook her head, but her eyes didn’t left Nam-sun’s figure. “Oh, that’s my daughter, Nam-sun.”
“Hi.” the girl’s voice sounded heavy than the usual and Namjoon whispered a ‘please apologize with her from the bump into her.’ “I’m sorry from bump into you.” she repeated almost the same thing that he said and the man smiled a little tense.
“That’s okay.” D.Boss answered with her common dry tone.
“But who is she, dad?”
“Ah, that’s the D- I mean, she’s the director of my new company, Ms. ___.” he exclaimed quickly and the dark pair of doe eyes of his daughter analyzed the woman from the head to the toes and then sighed.
“I prefer Mr. Park.” her statement caught everyone off guard, the woman arched an eyebrow and he laughed weakly.
“Nam-sun, don’t say things like this, you don’t even know her.” he scolded her softly.
“Don’t worry, Mr. Kim. I don’t get bothered with this kind of… Thing.”
The silent fell heavy over them, the air was tense and he wanted to leave there as fast as he can; even if Nam-sun’s attitude were wrong, he could only agree, Mr. Park were way more kind than D.Boss.
“Well, we need to go now.” he said with a small smile and took the books from the floor. “See you tomorrow, Ms. ___.” With one of his hand he carried the books and with the other he held his daughter’s hand.
Namjoon didn’t notice the exchange of deaths glares that Nam-sun and Ms. ___ gave to each other before losing themselves in the shelves of the library.
With a heavy sigh he put his things on the cashier and waited his time.
“Nam-sun, why did you talk that way with Ms. ___?” he asked, looking straight into her eyes and she shook her shoulders.
“But I prefer Mr. Park. He was nicer and gave me candies!”
“Well, true… Yah! Don’t tell you just like him because he gave you candies!” Namjoon laughed in disbelief and started to take off his wallet to pay for the books. “But still you shouldn’t talk that way with someone older, specially if she has a position so important.”
“Which position?”
“My boss.” both laughed before leave the store and head toward a park that was close to their apartment.
There were some friends from her class playing together, so the girl didn’t lost the chance to play with them. The man enjoyed the  moment to sat for a while in a bench near. He answered some messages from Jin and Yoongi — the last one was a surprise for him.
Some mothers of the children there sat near him to talk a bit about school and home stuff and he ended up trapped in the chat as well. Little things like ‘that whether is terrible for my son’s asthma’ or ‘that children mess so much at home’ were more than common for him to hear and even talk.
Since he become father, these kind of topics were often throw on him, at the start it was a bit uncomfortable, but with the time he was getting so good that some mothers came to him just to ask some advices.
“Yeohan is impossible. I can’t even take my eyes from him for a minute that he makes a huge mess.” Sara, the mother of one of Nam-sun’s classmates stated to him and to the others mothers there.
“I can feel you, my daughter is the same.” another said with a heavy sigh before turn her eyes to Namjoon. “Nam-sun seems so well behaved, what’s your secret?”
He giggled and then thought a little bit about the topic.
“I don’t think that there’s a secret. Usually children at this age needs a lot attention and love from parents, when they don’t receive it they start to make everything in their power to show for it.” He explained and they nodded showing deep concentration for what the man was saying. “I always try to show Nam-sun that I’ll be there with her, and when I can’t do something with her I calmly explain the reason why. So with time she started to get used to it.”
“Oh, Namjoon-ah! You are such a great dad!” They said loudly and even though he acted humble, he felt his chest inflate proudly. Nothing made him more happy than hear the he was a good dad.
“I’ll try to use this new kind of approach with Yeohan!”
“Patience is the key” he remembered and they smiled gratefully.
-
After the lunch, Nam-sun went to the school and he finished some papers from work and read some chapters of his new books, during the night they went to the cinema to watch a movie that she wanted and relax a bit.
The day was great; he missed spend the day with his daughter like that, usually if he wasn’t working at the company he would be working at home so his time to himself and for his sweetheart was short.
He was confident that a good time was about to come.
