I was looking at my old notes/docs and I discovered that sixteen years old me (when I stoped being an MCU Tony Stan because I started to grow class conscience and read comics) was working on a fanfic were 616 Tony got accidentaly traped in the MCU universe and was at every second getting more and more annoyed angry and sad over the MCU's Tony's life. But not in "oh poor guy" sense but in: how the fuck did he got the formula to never ever having to actually deal with the consequences of his actions?

Somewhere between: being a creep still got him the girl, he treated Peter almost as bad as 616 Tony did and Peter still admires him and feels he has to follow his legacy (the whole thing also makes 616 Tony question his relationship with Riri, not because it isn't waaay better - though as always not flawless - but because anxiety), instead of bi he is homophobic, he helped Ross (a thing comic Tony would never) and Bruce was still his friend and other he was an alcohoolic for almost a year and than wasn't without any struggle at all because apparently no one needs terapy and working hard to recover in this universe except Bucky (not that Bucky doesn't need therapy but stil), 616 Tony is ready to either throw his progress away into a villain arc that it's actually just petty and not complicated as hell for once or just find a way to go back to his universe and wipe his memory over the whole ordeal.

It's mostly just notes. But it's weirdly sassy the way only a teen could write. I though about posting screenshots but is in portuguese and while I agree with the general ideia it is soo edgy. Whitewashed Wanda was supposed to come up at some moment as well because that is ridiculous and offensive and I wanted to find a way to make comic Wanda also end up there to confront herself. And a small nod to the lack of Janet because I'm just a Janet Van Dyke stan.

Funniest thing about the mcu/comics divide is how you can basically immediately tell which side of the fandom someone is in based on their favorite ships.

everywhere i go the shippers - really theyre just ironman fans - rag on Steve and everything abt him and anything that points to him being a character that originated from a diff franchise, and the only times they don't is when theres commercial cashgrab crossover slop that characterizes him as bland and historyless as possible. like ffs they all think that shitty avengers academy mobile game is his "best" version. atp the whole ship feels like an exercise in removing character traits until theres nothing but a blond blue eyed character design left

Honestly I think it depends on which side of the fandom your in because what you're talking Abt reminds me of the MCU Stony fandom.

Most of the people who like MCU Stony are people who mostly try cope with the fact that there wasn't really much relationship build off from Steve In that universe, because he was bland, similar to how I feel about emh Steve and EMH Stony in general despite me shipping it myself.

I think that most Stony fans don't hate Steve they just wish that the writers would like.. write him, like , good. An example of a Steve I think everyone can agree on is AA Steve, which is known for being some the best Steve characterizations we've gotten in a while, because of the way Roger Craig Smith does his softer voice and normal Steve voice that displays both a captain and a caring person that would try and help out with your problems.

And as much as I don't agree with the "Captain Colonizer" Statement, mostly because Steve is a representation of the people of America not the government, as much as marvel tries to make it seem that way cap is someone that helps the little guys and unless there's a habit avengers level threat or just something happening down town, he doesn't go side with the government, evident by the fact that in AA (S2/3ish) neither Steve and tony were working with the government, it was obviously on already uneasy terms, but after they showed lack of remorse for human lives, it ended up leading the team to split up publicly and work to help everyone underground away from ultrons weird government bullshit that entire season.

And afiak, They stopped "uneasily" working with the government after this, it was really only with big events like thanos and ultron anyway, and the avengers work alone, and they don't like being controlled by government pencil necks who don't care.

Although it should be noted that, most other Steve vary on this position, Im not gonna use civil war as a talking point here cuz both the comic and the movies adaptations are shit and Steves feelings towards the government are a lot more wishy washy in 616, and the MCU is a huge example of going in the wrong direction with how to do that. And the fact that if we're being honest Steve would go down to wherever shits going down and help him fucking self. he don't take that shit, he will defend the side of the right. Hes not about that wishy washy government bullshit as much as marvel's military funded ass shitty movie cinematic universe will try to make you believe and just and fyi: all the mcus shit is from ults.. AND IT ISNT THE GOOD STUFF FROM ULTS!!!

But anyway, most people hate Steve because they don't like the fact that Steves character keeps getting worse and worse, even more bastardized, and flanderized, and written terrible, by people who don't understand the complexites or history of his character, which end us with a problem where there are conflicts with newer steve fans who like his flanderized ults-like take in the MCU, or the comic fans who like his original version and would like for him to return back to something that truly represents him as a person, whether or not he has changed since then is entirely separate and goes too indepth so I'll leave it to the wolves.

Also, yeah most Stony fans are Tony fans, you can't have one without the other, because Tony is a key part of making the relationship work, and from what I've found Most Steve tony shippers like them both but there's either a dissonance between liking one more than the other or liking them equally, and I think that remains prevalent outside of the MCU.

And for your final question, no, most Stony fans don't think avac Steve is the best character version, idk where you got that from, but it wasn't the fandom no siree, that seems a bit biased. And as I've said earlier, the consensus on "best Steve" usually seems to be either 616 Steve or Aa Steve, me personally I like aa steve more but my other friend likes 616 Steve, and I think it really comes down to these two because one is really solid adaptable and the other is the original character finally becoming good again with writers who care about him, (tony too, hes the main reason I got back into cap comics!)

Sorry this answer is kind of long, there isn't really much of a concrete answer besides that most people hate Steve because they wish he wants written so badly 😭 it's kinda sad, but I hoped this answered your question!!! If ya have anything else to ask to drop me another ask ^_^

I am a ship slut so I have a lot of ships.

I love winterbones because I’m a horrible human being.

Stucky because MCU made it canon calling them soulmates and then no-Homo’d like the cowards they are.

Stony because AA are married as hell and 616’s civil war was the worst sort of divorce.

SIM/Hydracap because I love my bastard “evil twin” boys.

Used to like steggy, but honestly the actress is kinda toxic about it and the endgame ending made no sense. And with the directors doubling down and saying Agent Carter isn’t canon I’m even less impressed with it because I was a Carter/Sousa shipper too.

Hydra husbands because Rollins and Rumlow are trash hydra boys and I love them.

I wish I could read more ironstrange but they have a hate boner for cap that upsets me and make him out to be the evil ex.

Secret pleasure? Fancasting Tony Stark with an actual decent actor. Or even just someone who looks good😭. 616 Stony and AA Stony are both genuinely nice, MCU just made the horrid mistake of casting RDJ and that ruined it. Now I'm stuck seeing his ugly mug every time I see Stony.

I follow a Stony blog, and it always makes me giggle whenever I see their moodboards using either comic panels of Tony or other actors for him. Not even for Evans or Hemsworth or any, just for rdj🤣.

It's an attitude like if we're gonna ship some white men the least they can be is handsome. Chris Evans is already👌, so let's just switch rdj with David Gandy and we're cool.

If I'm ever writing a fic the notes are gonna be like "David Gandy as Tony Stark. The rest is the same". Except maybe for Dr. Strange, I feel we can do better there as well.

I'm reading only facts here, anon

What we wanted: Hot, middle aged white man in expensive suits with an arrogant yet charming demeanor for interesting scenarios with our fave (rich vs poor, hate-to-love, all the classics).

What we got: yappy dog with unresolved daddy issues who, according to fandom, needs reassurance and validation every 0.25 seconds 🙃🙃

I also think that the main difference between the mcu and those two other verses is that at least in AA and 616 T0ny is willing to admit he's a simp for Steve like all of us express his admiration for Steve in a more clear cut way, while in the mcu it's always a mix of backhanded comments. sarcastic jokes and/orr nothing at all (not that 616 T0ny did not do his fair share of shitty stuff to Steve, but hey.)

And yes, we could've done a lot better with dr. Strange

If anyone don't know 616 is the prime universe which is like the main universe for marvel comics. I'm quite critical towards MCU and their fucked up story arcs of my all time favourite characters. So ya lil warnings I wanna give about me regarding mcu. Because fuck MCU.

Loves EMH, AA AND Heroes United. Into superior Ironman (White suit is awesome don't @ me). Also liked secret empire (though I was on the edge while reading it). I LOVE (more like obsessed with) Hawkeye - life as weapon and Hawkeye - Little Hits. I also want to recommend, that is if anyone even want to read, Tales of suspense - Hawkeye and winter soldier (which takes place after secret empire), Loki - The God who fell to earth, Ultimates, Avengers Prime, Capitan American and Ironman: Night in Madripoor, Hawkeye vs Deadpool, Avengers Endless war time, The Avengers (2010 - 2012) by Brain Michael Bendis, definitely Secret Empire (2017). (Will add more in the future), Hawkeye : Freefall is in my wish list.

Comic book Clint Barton superiority.

SUPERNATURAL [ 𝗠 ] 一 Everything about sam / dean and the about the show. I ship sam and dean (wincest shipper). Yes! You have problem with it gtfo of my blog and if want to ask the all time question of "why" I ship it then look ─ HERE. Also which is only a fictional ship to me. I treat their Canon relationship as a pure platonic love which in my opinion goes beyond hevean and hell. I love them so much, both the characters and also the actors that played the said characters. Look at THIS and tell me they're NORMAL!!

BTS 一 for bts you'll see gif sets, gfx, graphics, videos about the boys (ot7 and non shipper) also I don't have bias. I simply can't decide. It's been 5 years I still can't decide my bias. Proud BTSArmy.

BL series 一 As for the bl series, you won't find much here. I'm sorry to disappoint you on that. My fav bl series are sotus, sotus s, together with me, together with me (next chapter), tharntype, 2gether, still 2gether, my engineer (kingram and mekboss). dont get me started on stevetony

ajksakjhajd anon I could talk for HOURS about stevetony. My otp. My favourite dynamic. The Tony ship I enjoy the most, read the most about, and create for the most.

What is absolutely amazing about this ship is that there is something for everyone. The sheer amount of fanart, fanfictions, and other content that has been created by fandom is staggering. And also perfect because I will always find something that fits my needs.

Also, the fact that there are stevetony moments in a LOT of Marvel universes. EMH, AA, 616, MCU, Ults, 1872, AvAc, etc all have at least one iconic stony moment, and I love it.

My favourite stony is, without doubt, 616 stony, because I am a sucker for angst. Give me all the canon fix-its and angst with a happy ending, I will literally inhale those fics. There are some amazing authors out there that have played a great role in making me love stony, so kudos to them. Also, 616 stony has some of the most moving speeches, imo.

It wasn’t worth it and he loved you even when you fought will always have a special place in my heart. You gave me a home is also a very good sentence. I’m sorry, but no other universe has quotes as raw as 616.

If we’re talking about things that annoy me about stony is that fandom has latched onto certain tropes and characterisations and somehow decided that it’s canon? I see that mostly with MCU fics, where for example Steve’s personality changes from fic to fic bc canon Steve is so vague, or where Tony is written very ooc to make him cuter or adorable.

I have big issues with how their dynamic is written in some fics. I abhor the thing fandom tends to do when they recreate sexist roles in a relationship and someone becomes “the woman” in the relationship. I’ve ranted about this a lot of times already, but I hate that Tony is very often written as the “woman” in his relationships, and that’s also true with stevetony.

If you’re thinking: “What in the world is oluka talking about?”, let me give you a few examples. Notice how Tony is very often described as small, weaker, how people focus on his big eyes and his butt? How he needs someone to take care of him? How he’s needy and clingy?

In contrast, Steve is always big and strong and masculine. He takes care of Tony, doesn’t mind his clinginess, is protective. He’s the prince charming to Tony’s damsel in distress, if you will.

You can’t tell me you haven’t read a fic where Tony is not taking care of himself/neglecting basic hygiene/is having a panic attack and then Steve comes and takes care of poor baby Tony and everything is good again. I hate that Tony becomes a child, that Steve becomes nothing more than a nanny, and that this is something that is very recurring in fic. Not to say that I don’t like hurt/comfort fics, but the way that it’s often written.... Not for me.

Don’t get me started on smut, because things are even worse there. Ask yourself: why is there an overwhelming majority of bottom Tony fics?

stony as a ship is amazing and is practically canon (is canon in Earth 3490), and some of the absolute best fanfics I’ve read are stevetony fics, but there are trends in stony fandom that annoy me sooo much. Luckily, tag filtering is a thing that exists, and now that I know what I enjoy and what I don’t enjoy, I almost only read fics that I end up loving.

I don’t know where I wanted to go with this, but I really love stony. Thanks for bringing them up!

1. Do you remember the episode/scene/chapter that you first started shipping 6?

Oh goodness, this is a Cradle Ship for me. I’ve been a fan of the Ring since literally as long as I can remember - the Pierre Boulez 1976 Ring was the same year I was born, so I can’t remember a time I wasn’t familiar with it, and didn’t think there was something going on there. Then the 1991 Met Ring came out, and I was all DEFINITELY.

The bit that does it for me is the bit in Das Rheingold when Wotan is finding Mime’s troubles to be damn funny, and Loge is being very solicitous of him.

2. Have you ever read a FanFiction about 2?

I’ve read a couple of little fluff pieces, but most of the fic is Spirk, and what of it that has Spones is almost all Triumverate. I remember writing for the Spiced Peaches ezine back in the day and there not being much...

3. Has a picture of 4 ever been your screen saver/profile picture/tumblr?

If only pictures of 4 existed!

4. If 7 were to suddenly break-up today, what would your reaction be?

Utter lack of surprise. They’re both such garbage dumpsters of train wrecks when it comes to emotional intelligence and communication!

5. Why is 1 so important?

Because it has so many flavors that mean so much to me. Two in particular - MCU!Stony is all about Tony trying hard in all of the worst ways, and just paving his own road to hell out of his own good intentions, and failing to have emotional intelligence and failing to communicate well, and falling victim to his own insecurity. AA!Tony is also insecure and bad at communicating, but he gets just enough of it that he and Steve actually talk, and work through their various civil wars, and can show each other how much they love each other. (Also, the plotline in AA when Tony is taken over by Ultron and Strange has to send him to another dimension, and he wanders for untold time until they’re reunited, and the nature of the reuniting - it’s so many of my kinks, done so well. I’m SO mad that the series seems to have been cancelled.)

6. Is 9 a funny ship or a serious ship?

Why not BOTH! Like the movie, it’s completely serious, but still has moments of true, real humor.

7. Out of all of the ships listed, which ship has the most chemistry?

Lenny/Mace. Part of it is Angela Bassett, part of it is the writing and direction, but everything about their relationship is so real and so hot. I don’t have a lot of het ships, but holy hell THAT one.

8. Out of all of your ships listed, which ship has the strongest bond?

Oh, Lucky/Bigman for sure. You can’t get Bigman off of Lucky with a crowbar. He has an almost comical need to be with Lucky, to do things for Lucky, to sacrifice himself for Lucky. Lucky is his everything.

9. How many times have you read/watched 8’s fandom?

WotW is my guilty pleasure. It’s not good, it’s terrible, in SO many ways, but I just love the idea, and the dynamics of Ironhorse and Blackwood. They only released the show on DVD in the early 2000s, so there was a while where I didn’t, but now, every once in a while, I’ll pop back for an episode or a moment that I hold dear.

10. Which ship has lasted the longest?

In canon? Rimmer/Lister. In my own brain? Mime/Loge, see above for About As Long As I’ve Been Alive. :)

11. How many times, if ever, has 2 broken up?

It’s hard to think about them being ‘together’ in a meaningful fashion, due to the complexities of the canon and cultural differences, and I also see it as being a fairly one-sided ship.

12. If the world was suddenly thrust into a zombie apocalypse, which ship would make it out alive, 2 or 8?

They’d both make it out alive in very different ways. Spock would be very logical in his approach to survival, Bones would grumble and complain about that while working on a cure; he’d come up with one, test it out on himself, get saved from himself by Spock, and they’d fix the Apocalypse. Blackwood would have the Spock rationality and the Bones desire to come up with a cure, and Ironhorse would protect him to the end of the Earth and beyond while he fixed the Apocalypse. :p

13. Did 5 ever have to hide their relationship for any reason?

I mean, they’re a biracial couple in America, so yeah, there’d be some ugliness here and there - like, I can see them keeping it quiet at a traffic stop. They spent a lot of time hiding their relationship from themselves, but after the events of the movie - well, it’s not like race relations and police brutality got better in LA.

14. Is 4 still together?

Always and forever, despite the smeghead’s best efforts to throw a spanner in the works of everything good.

15. Is 3 canon?

In my head. I’m sure Asimov didn’t mean it that way, but he was a sexually assaulty twit, so I don’t care. His 1950s-era insecurities and gender assumptions lead him to write an INCREDIBLY homoerotic series of kids’ books, and I’m there for it.

16. If all 10 ships were put into a couple’s Hunger Games, which couple would win?

If there are no rules and it’s no holds barred, I think it comes down to Garak/Bashir, Lenny/Mace, and Bradford/Zhang. I think the last would come out on top, because with the other two, there’s somebody idealistic interfering with the gloves-off brutal tactics of the other, but with Bradford and Zhang, they’re both brutal tactics when push comes to shove.

17. Has anybody ever tried to sabotage 10’s ship?

Reality and canon? :) And the ending of XCom: Enemy Within, if you send Zhang out on the final mission...

18. Which ship would you defend to the death and beyond?

Hell with it, all of them.

19. Do you spend hours a day going through 1’s tumblr page?

Not every day. Every once in a while, I’ll end up in a Tumblr rabbit hole of them.

20. If an evil witch descended from the sky and told you that you had to pick one of the ten ships to break up forever or else she´d break them all forever, which ship would you sink?

I think it’d have to be Stony, because Tony is so good at messing it up all on his own, even without those stakes...!

Top 10 Ships I stan

1. Clexa (The 100)

One that holds a very special place in my heart since it was the first lgbtqia+ canon couple I saw on TV. I haven’t watched the 100 ever since Lexa’s death, and they’ll always be my no.1 🥺

2. Stony (Avengers Assemble)

AA!Stony especially 😭 This needs no explanation, just watch AA and you’ll ship em. I converted from a Stucky fan to a Stony stan in a heartbeat 💓

3. Cartinelli (Marvel’s Agent Carter)

I am a pretty hardcore Cartinelli stan, even though I also ship Peggy with Steve and Dottie. They are just... made for each other. 😍

4. Glaggie (The Walking Dead)

I... 😭😭😭 What the hell. I survived 6-7 seasons of that long ass show because they were so great together. I came for the zombies, but I stayed for Glaggie. This one thing I cannot change my mind on, is that I despise Negan for ruining this pure ship.

5. Fosterson (MCU/Marvel Comics)

I know I never talk about them and I’m so sorry! They’re over-hated in the MCU, they deserve better 🥺 They just radiate this classy vibe as you’d usually see in kings and queens.

6. Natsharon (MCU/Marvel Comics)

Okay, so I tried. I tried to ship Natasha with her male romantic interests. Clintasha, Romanogers, Brutasha, even Tonynat. I couldn’t. Then I found Natsharon and it just clicked(?) for me. (No hate to any of the shippers, it’s just I personally couldn’t) They‘re so powerful. If only they were more popular.

7. Harmione (Harry Potter)

As a young girl reading the books, I truly believed that this kind of nerdy, crazy haired, intelligent girl would end up with the kinda dorky hero of the story. They had so much potential and chemistry 😔

8. Elmax (Stranger Things)

Ooh I’m sorry, Mileven shippers! I really didn’t like how Mike was policing El around in season 3, and I am just a sucker for a cute wlw ship. Max makes El realize that she is her own person, and that is so, so important.

9. Dara/Carius (I married a millionaire)

This is neither a movie nor a TV show, but an Episode story and a Wattpad story. I found this story a while back when I used to have episode, and I fell in love with them. This ship definetly deserves to be on here. I believe it’s still on Episode, but I recommend reading the original version, not the episode official account version.

10. Harlivy (DC Comics)

The only one for Harley. Seriously. I cannot believe that there are people in this world who wants an abusive relationship like Joker and Harley’s. Ivy treats her well, and reminds her that she is her own person. Precious🕊

I just found this in my drafts. IDK who asked me these, or what it was from, but oh well. I’m gonna post it anyway because it’s that sort of night.

1. What was your first OTP? The first one I actively shipped was 1x2 (Heero Yuy x Duo Maxwell) from Gundam Wing. I may have liked to characters together in things before that, but that was the first one I read fic for, so I’m going with that. (Also, can we bring back x ?)

2. What is your current OTP?

Peter Hale/Stiles Stilinski, Teen Wolf

Steve Rogers/Tony Stark, MCU, 616, AA, Ults

3. Do you have any OT3/OT+ ships? What are your favorites?

Parker/Hardison/Eliot from Leverage is the most perfect OT3 in the world, and it’s canon so A+ there.

I also thought season 2 of Stranger Things was heading towards a Steve/Nancy/Jonathan OT3, which I would have been into, but nope...

Other than that, I can be persuaded to read fic that is a mainship + others, so the occasional Peter/Stiles/pretty much anyone tbh, and the occasional Steve/Tony/Bucky

4. What is/are your favorite trope(s)?

So more general tropes that I enjoy are things like bed sharing/safe houses, soulmates, fake dating, enemies to friends to lovers...

But there are some fandom specific tropes I enjoy, too. So, in Teen Wolf, I really like No Hale Fire, the bite was a proposal, neckz’n’throats

And in MCU, etc I love Identity Porn, Steve is not a virgin, and Undercover mission fics

5. What is/are your least favorite trope(s)? Super not into MPREG or Kidfic (like I don’t mind if there are kids, or the characters have them, but I don’t want it to be the focus; I’m trying to escape from my own!)

6. Do you have a certain kind of ship you’re more attracted to? I tend to like opposite characters who have a lot of chemistry but they don’t exactly see eye to eye or get along 100% of the time, even if some of them are friends/reluctant allies. I just always like a bit of rivalry, I think. If you look at all of the ships I’ve had, most of them fit this description: Heero/Duo (reluctant allies at first), Harry/Draco (rivals), Jack/Spot (friendly rivals), Jason/Percy (friendly rivals), Arthur/Eames (reluctant allies with some past??), Arthur/Merlin (master/servant, but with some friendly rivalry thrown in for good measure), Peter/Stiles (enemies to reluctant allies), Steve/Tony (reluctant allies, to friends, to enemies, back to reluctant allies)... and so on.

8. Who is the most shippable person you can think of? I can pretty much ship Stiles with anyone. He’s a good fandom bicycle.

9. Are there any fandoms you don’t have any ships for? That I’m invested in to some degree? I’m not really interested in any Doctor Who ships outside of what’s canon. Idk why...

10. Do characters have to have canon interactions for you to ship them? At least some. There has to be some basis for what their interactions would be like. But honestly, it doesn’t have to be a lot for me. I can make a mountain out of that small molehill if I need to.

12. What drives you away from a ship? The fans of that ship being shitty. I might still like it, but I won’t engage with that part of the fandom, so the interest will fade much faster.

18. What is your favorite unpopular ship? Stiles Stilinski/Isaac Lahey

20. Do you prefer bigger fanbases or smaller ones? OOh tough. Bigger ones produce more content. Getting back into Stony is a gift with the amount of fic and amazing artists out there. BUT small ones are nice to finding a community and people to interact with.

24. What is your favorite canon ship? I’m gonna go with my OT3 of Parker/Hardison/Eliot. Second place would be a tie between Haruka Teou (Sailor Uranus)/Michiru Kaioh (Sailor Neptune) and Eric Bittle/Jack Zimmerman from Check, Please!

25. What are your favorite ships from a dead fandom? Do fandoms really ever die? Jack/Spot from Newsies. Heero/Duo from GW, Casey/Zeek from The Faculty

26. What are your favorite shipping scenes? “Don’t be afraid to dream a little bigger, darling.”

28. What is your best shipping advice? Just have fun. This is supposed to be fun. If it stops being fun, back away.

29. Do you like OCs (Original Characters)? Sometimes? There is an amazing Check, Please! fic (Something Like This, by emmagrant01) that has some amazing OCs, and they round out the story without overshadowing the canon characters. But I think this sort of thing is few and far between.
