Our boy is literally the definition of pretty privilege. He's got everything a girl would ever want, and he's the envy of all the guys on campus. He's sculpted like a Greek god, thanks to his Persian genetics and daily visits to the gym.

Everyone and anyone will listen to what LoveSick!Athlete's gotta say, and they'll do whatever he's asked, if he's saying it in a certain tone with a certain face. This is his manipulative personality coming into play. He understands that people will listen to him, for whatever reason, and he uses it to his advantage, scaring away any guys you may or may not find attractive.

Usually, it's pretty easy to do as they're just one of your classmates that you just find handsome, but you've never thought of talking to them, much less pursuing them. You're introverted personality (in this type of darling) makes it easy for him to keep you all to himself.

The two of you have been together for years, ever since you were little kids, and you trust everything he says, but not for superficial reasons like everyone else. You see him for who he is. You understand that he'd never do anything to hurt you; I'm just looking out for you, yeah? Just take my word for it, he's not worth your time.

In this case, with this darling, the two of you aren't dating, in your eyes at least. And LoveSick!Athlete has been pursuing you for quite some time, but he's patient. The two of you are practically attached at the hip, and that alone scares off any of your suitors, so even if you find someone (guy or chick) attractive, then they're gone before you can even say 'hello'.

Now, I've gone over how LoveSick!Athlete deals with his 'competitors', though he doesn't see them as this, in this post. This post is more geared toward how he deals with jealousy, but I drabble on the idea of putting down other men and making you see them in a bad light.

LoveSick!Athlete don't see these men, no matter how you see them, as a threat to your relationship, nor his ego. The two of you are far too out of reach for them to touch; they can't get to you, but it's different when it's his teammate. Especially since he never shuts up about them, so they know that he's pursuing you or you're in a relationship (depending on the time).

Overall, I think LoveSick!Athlete would treat the situation similarly with his teammate as he would with some random guy, but he'll have a bitter taste in his mouth whenever he sees said teammate now. It's possible that he'll be rougher with them on the ice, pushing them harder, elbowing them, and tripping them. Of course, no one will notice. After all, he's their star player, he'd never do anything to hurt his teammates, never.

He'll bad mouth them, behind their back of course, to his other teammates and you, can't forget about you. He'll go on and on about all the things they've done over the summer while school was out. How they're so aggressive toward girls, especially the ones that say 'no' to him. You wouldn't believe what Sonia told me, sweets. She said...

Once you get him talking, he won't stop. LoveSick!Athlete would never, ever, miss the opportunity to trash on of his rivals. If the guy seems persistent and tries to talk to you, god, let alone he touches you, he'll rain hellfire on the campus. He'll get some college girls to go report him to the campus office, saying that they were assaulted by him. LoveSick!Athlete might even plant some drugs into the guy's bag, causing him to lose his athletic scholarship.

And if the guy tries to tell on him, like a rat, then he'll just be brushed off as "desperate" and "attention-seeking." That he's trying to push the blame on someone else, 'cause there's no way LoveSick!Athlete would ever do something like that.

He's the team's sweetheart, after all.

Can I ask for your opinion about Kon's relationship with Dick?

People normally think about Tim and Kon when I ask their opinion about Robin and Super Boy

Maybe because I got introduced to Kon(then Conner) thru Young Justice, but when I hear it, its always been Dick and Conner

But I can see why they only think about Tim and Kon, because of the comics and all. Hell I'm not even sure if Kon and Conner have the same backstory, so I'm very confused

It's just, nobody talks about their relationship, like at all, and I get so curious the more I see Dicks interactions with the other supers in the kent family, and then I compare that to the lack of content about Kon and Dick regarding their relationship

oh man I get so confused with Young Justice tv show vs comics. It's insane the overlap. I saw Kaldur in Teen Titans (2016) with Damian and felt so bewildered why Dick and Kaldur didn't know each other before I realized - different universes. It's still weird and offsetting every time I see Kaldur though. Same with M'gann in Titans (2016) comic.

I really enjoyed Dick and Connor dynamic in Young Justice. The dynamic though! The cackling little maniac who's half his height is somehow the saviour of the most stoic man with some of the biggest daddy issues with the nicest man on earth.

In the comics, Conner kinda hero-worships/is a little intimidated by Dick

The other time in the comics, Dick shows up with the Titans because someone's Conner trying to calm down has become a big problem for civilian safety.

They have a confrontation where Dick wants to take them down but Conner thinks she can still be saved.

Superboy (1994) Issue #81

It's always interesting for me to read Nightwing in younger heroes comics because of the way he's written. Like here for instance, he effectively took control and deescalated the situation but it's from Kon's point of view so it also feels like Dick is taking over Kon's jurisdiction. Yet at the end, the way the scene progresses, this feels good. The way Nightwing is seen through Kon's eyes is like an untouchable figure who's just so good at everything and in control of stuff. Yet this moment, there's a softer quality to him than when he came in, giving the sense that Kon has earned Nightwing's respect, the respect of someone he views untouchable. And that's a good feeling. The subtlety in this was great.

So I feel like you can go two way with Kon and Dick. The first is the Young Justice way where they're sort of the same age vibe.

I miss this dynamic!

The second is the comic way where he hero worships Dick (as everyone does). I don't like how they don't have a lot of interactions together given how close Dick is with the Superfam. But also Kon and Clark don't get along that well either so I guess it makes sense that Kon wouldn't be around Dick as much simply by way of missed opportunities. There should still be a lot more though.

Personally, I love Conner and Dick. They fight but they respect each other and they treat each other on equal terms. They're fun!

Cuddle headcanons

Gorou

Loves loves loves being close to you. Joined at the hip on his days off.

Canonically a sleep cuddler, before you he'd usually wake up hugging a pillow or his tail. But after learning the warmth another being gives off, never wants to sleep alone again.

Likes putting his arms around your waist while you're sitting. Or that think where he cuddles you in a chair while you do work, using your none dominate hand to pet him while your other continues on.

Is very content with not talking during cuddle sessions and just enjoy being with you in silence.

Especially if it's outside on a nice summer day on a picnic blanket. Makes his doggy tail wag so happily.

But also shy cuddler? At least in the beginning. Like he's such so easily flustered outside of combat that I think you have to be the one to just go for it while sitting together cause asking would make him go so red he wouldn't be able to look at you or talk for a long time. Just resting his head next to yours while you link an arm around him and putting his hands on his face to cover the red.

Doesn't ask once he's comfortable, just does it. You sitting down? Oop now he's straddling your lap and cuddling up against you.

You went to bed first? Perfect opportunity to climb on top of you.

Since you were a lower subordinate of Gorou, it meant that you were always off before him, and as much as Gorou wished he could welcome you home, he does enjoy seeing you lazy and laid back and catch the little moments before you notice he’s there. When he walked back to his tent he saw you sitting and reading against the bed. You looked up and smile and nod your head over to come sit next to you.

What he decided to do, was lay his head in your lap, resting it so he was facing your stomach and wrapping his arms around your waist. You just chuckle and began petting his head, the only sound being his tail wagging back and forth.

Xiao

a comfort cuddler, hands down.

Cause if you tried to casually cuddle with him he'd be so stiff and alert and doesn't know what to do with his limbs and head.

I think wayyy later in the relationship he'll "relent" and let you cuddle him (it always has to be alone though with absolute no certainty that someone will walk in).

Talks while cuddling, either to take his mind off or cause he hates silence that leads his mind to wonder.

Loves asking about your day and

But if you and/or him are having a bad day he's basically a koala when alone.

Usually the big spoon but secretly loves being little spoon.

Will only be little spoon if you are the one offering it.

It's pretty obvious when he wants to be held though imo. He thinks he hides his emotions well with stoic talk but he's in no way a professional at keeping his feelings inside. Especially cause I think Zhongli has tried to convince him a number of times to take a break even before the Adepti all retired.

Love the smell of your hair when big spoon. Let's him lose thought of all the things he puts on himself and just fill him with memories of you. Also just loves the sense he's shielding and protecting you in someway even if it's small or not physical.

loves the sound of your heartbeat when he's little spoon, reminds him you're real and his karma hasn't harmed or affected you. (SPOILERS FOR 2.7 BUT Especially after the 2.7 arc and learning that someone can become deranged from being close to a yaksha for too long (yelans ancestor)).

He's just so paranoid about inadvertently hurting you he doesn't want to cuddle

Over all Years of no physical contact and a doubt he's ever been in a relationship past found family or friends he doesn't know/feel comfortable doing this. Please be patient.

Xiao never vocally announces himself anymore when he comes without you calling. This long in the relationship you know the whooshing sound behind you meant he was there. You turn around, and you tell he wasn’t having a good day.

“Wanna talk about it?” You start. He continues to look down. Standing up you went over, putting your hand next to his so you can give him a warning you want to hold his hand. He takes it, You life it up to place a kiss before leading him to the bed.

You got in, leading him to follow when he paused.

“You know I have no need to sleep Y/n.’

“I do.” But made no move to remove your hand from him. He eventually relents and gets in bed, you quickly curling up to him and him wasting no time to wrap an arm around you. “Let’s have dinner tomorrow, I can cook you’re favorite and we can take a walk.”

He just hums in agreeing, usually there’d be back in forth on his scheduling and how he always must be prepared in case someone needs him. Tonight thought his arms just wrap tighter around you, his head resting a top of yours.

“Sounds....fun.”

Kazuha

If it's not important will immediately Come cuddle you when you want it

Unashamed cuddler, so if someone walks in he'll talk to them like you're not currently in their lap right now. Rubbing soft circles in your shoulder if you are shy about it.

Perfers big spoon. Likes resting his head atop of yours or hearing your breathing next to his eat.

Usually is little spoon during slow moments, like picnics outside where you're both laying down on the blanket.

His favorite thing is cuddling in a rocking chair with you on his lap, gently rocking as he says little nothings in your ear or you're reading together.

Kazuha trailed slowly off the boat, the poetic in him wanting to savor the feeling of anticipation of meeting you again. His heart pumping and causing him to shake slightly in excitement.

You however, upon seeing him ran right up to him. He just smiles and hugs you back, guick to catch the legs that wrap around you before carrying you back to the ship. Immediately heading to his bedroom and crashing the both of you on the bed.

"How's my samurai pirate doing?" You cheerfully ask, nuzzling your head deeper into his neck if possible.

He chuckles, "better now my treasure."

Albedo

Doesn't get it at first.

He gets the concept, but executing it he just wraps his arm around youcand is like "ok now what?"

When he's physically exhausted from lack of sleep, he kinda just falls into bed, subconsciously wrapping an arm around you and gets closer.

Wakes up to his head on your chest and snuggles closer before realizing this isn't his pillow. Raises his head a bit upon catching himself, but one movement of you wrapping the arm that's now around his shoulder tighter.

So this is what this is suppose to feel like.

Very direct in asking for cuddles since he's not used to suble/quiet cues. Always an pause to try and get his wording right. He's always so meticulous and elegant with his wordings to a lesser person it can come off as just him thinking his words more thoroughly. But you know from his down cast gaze and slight pink to his cheeks is solely cause he's embarrassed to ask despite you telling his countless times he doesn't need to ask.

I headcanon he's not a morning person. If you guys wake up before the alarm he is not letting you go. Also is a koala once he's asleep.

Doesn't matter what position he takes, it really just comes down to who sits/lay downs first. As long as an arm or leg is slung around you he's good.

Got one of those dangling hammock esc chairs for the lab so you can both relax closely while he can still do his paperwork.

The sunlight creeped up in your bedroom window, right into albedos eyes. He grumbled and turned over to link himself back to you which somehow came undone in his sleep. You move a bit to indicate you waking up, laughing as you feel him tighten his grip on you.

"Honey-" you start.

"Mm"

"If you want breakfast before work I should probably get up now." You tap his shoulder, a nod to ask him to move so you can get up, but it just served for the opposite as he slowly adjusts himself so he's literally just on top of you.

"I set the alarm earlier, we'll have plenty of time once it goes off." He states, muffled as his cheek was squished against your chest.

You know that's a lie, he didn't touch the alarm clock the night before, but indulging him isn't necessarily a bad thing.

Venti

Control him he'll cuddle you right out in public at good eats or sitting under his statues.

So giddy and giggly every time. Loves rocking back and forth.

Drunk cuddler. If you're drinking w him at the dawn winery make it upstairs where it's a bit more private.

Little spoon till death. The most big spoon he'll get is wrapping his arms around you when you're both sitting down.

Hums when cuddling. Every moment with you sparks a tune in his head.

Will come up with a specific tune just for this and hums it all the time. Turns into an inside joke that when he starts humming it in public it means he wants you closer to him right now.

If you don't like pda that means let's go home now please I need to be in your lap asap.

"YyY/nNnnnnnn lemme sit in your lap." He whines, hugging your side, rocking you both back and forth as the rest of the party rolls their eyes for the umpteenth time.

"Maybe later at home love."

There's a pause as his while addled mind processes your words, before not so swiftly standing up. "Right! It has hic* been a veerery lovely evening. But it seems the misses/Mx. And I have other business tooooo attend to!!! Hehe cm'onnnnn windbluum!" Tugging on your arm to immediately get home.

Young Royals, Season 3, Give me what I want!

Hopefully wWe're gonna get a third season FUCK YEAH GUYS WOOHOO, and since my predictions for last season were so awesome, here's my predictions for the next one, combined with my personal wishlist:

First up, what I don't want is Wilhelm and Simon having relationship issues. We're done with that, thank you very much. Let them be together the entire season, no reason to force them apart again. Will they/won't they? They will. Move on.

Time-wise, it makes perfect sense for the season to span the rest of the spring semester, culminating in graduation for the third-year students. Or, it could continue into the summer break, although that would remove us from the school setting. Maybe for something epilogue-ish?

Obviously, the show has to deal with the two main drama points that were setup; The fallout from Wilhelm coming out publicly, and the fallout from Sara reporting August to the police.

Wilhelm coming out is fodder for lots of drama, how will the Queen and the court react, how will the press react, how will the people react? I expect paparazzi, newspaper headlines, and more shouting matches over the phone.

If it becomes public knowledge that August leaked the sex tape, that's gonna have repercussions for him at school, and it throws a wrench in the court's plan to make him Wilhelm's backup. Aside from the possible criminal investigation and possible trial, of course. Maybe there's some redemption possible for him here? I wouldn't mind.

Simon is now going to start feeling the weight of royal duty and being in the public eye. Maybe he'll need to move to Hillerska for his own protection and become a boarder. Is he joining Forest Ridge? Can he maybe join a rival house like Sprucewood? That could be some fun drama. But the royal court is also going to want to plan his future, just like Wilhelm's is already planned, I want to see him deal with all those expectations. He might also find out that having a relationship in secret was the easier option.

And what about Rosh and Ayub? There's an excellent opportunity for some class journey drama here, is Simon going to leave them behind? Is he going to be forced to leave them behind? If he's still living at home, is he going to need a bodyguard when riding the bus from school with his friends? Who would win in a fight, Malin or Rosh?

I missed Linda and Micke in season 2. I know there's good reasons for it, but I want more of them in season 3. Both of them are going to be thrust into the public eye having to deal with that, and Micke isn't exactly clean-cut and representative. He might also be dragged into the drug circus because of August, so that's some excellent drama fuel right there.

I don't know what I wish for Sara. Can the show give her a little break perhaps, and not let her be that trigger for lots of drama, please? She deserves some peace and quiet. It would also be kinda funny if she and Simon trade places so that she'll move back home again, while Simon moves to Hillerska. Maybe have her realize how misguided her class aspirations have been?

I want Felice to have more of a plot of her own. She's only been on support duty in season 2, I want her plot from season 1 to come back, let's do something with her parents, her mom is wonderfully terrible!

Simon and Wilhelm have never really been publicly a couple at Hillerska. Everyone knows, sure, but it's always been gossipy and talked about behind their backs. How will everyone deal with it being out in the open? How will this clash with various shitty traditions at Forest Ridge like the on-the-table crap? Are they gonna make both boys get up and confess? That could actually be done in a good, affirming way. I would also love for the school to close ranks and protect the boys from outside prying eyes like paparazzi and shit. That could be an opportunity for the minor characters to shine. And what about the Society? Wilhelm is technically breaking the oath he made when he joined. Will they break or bend?

Alexander needs justice, just get out from under August's thumb, please! Henry can stick to comic relief, he's great at it. Have him interrupt the boys getting busy for once! Stedrika becoming an official item? Not sure if I want it, but maybe? Walter? Madison? Nils?Just keep carrying on, they're great as they are.

But the thing I want most is more Vincent. He is the worst, and I love every second of it. More. Give me more! Be terrible and hilarious all at once!

Finally, can we get some more cute shit with our main couple? I want Simon to sleep over at the castle. Can they wake up together in that big bed of Wilhelm's, please? And let's do a "meet the parents" while we're there. Have Simon join a private family dinner with the royals!

I had to make myself forgiven for the angst of this fic, and a proposing fic was suggested, so... Hope I made it up to you @mandy426 @novamariestark 🥹❤️

Warnings: so much fluff, long distance relationship, age gap, proposal, romantic!Alden, couple taking a bath together, Alden being a mama's boy, talk about a Las Vegas wedding, riding in a limo

Let me be your husband ~ Alden Parker

"Tim, remember you're on call this weekend if there's an emergency." Alden said to his senior agent, grabbing his bag that had been sitting behind in desk the entire day. "I better leave now if I want to catch my flight." He made sure his desk was cleared, computer off and put the bag over his shoulder.

"Need a ride, Parker?" Torres offered.

"Thanks but my Uber is two minutes away. If you feel like picking me up on Sunday night, though..."

Nick chuckled. "Gotcha. Just give me the time."

"Say hi to your lady!" They collectively said as Alden walked over the elevator. He nodded at them with a smile.

He cannot wait until your assignment in Los Angeles is over so you can come back home to him. Flying back and forth every other month is a nightmare, and the time you have together is absolutely not enough. But this assignment was such a big opportunity for you and your career, Alden encouraged you to take it, saying that your couple would survive those two years apart. So far, so good. He just never imagined how hard it'd be.

Six months left. Alden was counting the days and so were you, even though you loved what you were doing in LA. The position was everything you ever wanted, and when your company offered it to you, you were ecstatic. The only thing that you may doubt was your relationship with Alden. You actually considered turning the offer down, afraid that you'd lose the love of your life. But luckily, you have the most amazing man and partner in Alden Parker.

You've had a very long week. Finally making it home, you poured yourself a glass of white wine, and texted Alden to ask him when you could facetime. He was all you wanted and needed, but unfortunately work caught up with him and he had to cancel his visit. Extremely sad about that, you waited for an answer that wasn't coming so you decided to draw yourself a bath. FaceTiming Alden while you're naked in the bath could be quite fun. You've been discovering lots of different ways to be intimate in the past year and a half.

The tub was practically filled up when there was a knock at your door. Suspicious - because you don't really have visitors - you looked through the peephole and you started to shake from happiness. The door couldn't get opened fast enough.

There he was, in all his glory.

You didn't give him time to put his bag away before jumping in his arms and kissing him. "You're here." You whispered between kisses.

Alden made a few steps forward while carrying you so he could kick the door close for his foot. You stayed in the small entrance, just greeting each other, feeling each other's body and smell. You almost forgot how intoxicating his scent was.

Finally breaking apart, you slapped his chest. "You lied to me, dickhead!"

He chuckled. "I didn't. I really thought I wouldn't be able to make it until last night. And then, the team suggested I surprise you."

"They are a terrible influence." You wrapped your arms around his neck and kissed him again.

"I'll make sure they know that." He held you tight. "I missed you so much."

"Missed you more. We can't let my bath go to waste, can we?" You teased, biting your bottom lip.

"Oh no, we do not waste water in this house. Lead the way, princess."

Your back against Alden's chest, soaking in the hot water and relaxing. It was the best you've felt in a long time, probably since the last time he was visiting. His arms were wrapped around you, holding you close to him. Every now and then, you felt his soft lips against your neck and shoulder. You could feel his cock twitching against your back, as his hands gently touch your tits and legs. It was long until his fingers were brushing your intimate parts. "Den," you moaned.

"Just relax, baby. Let me take care of you." And he did just that.

It felt incredible to sleep in his arms again, you almost didn't want to fall asleep. You had no particular plans the next day, just wanted to enjoy being with the man of your dreams. "We could go to Las Vegas." He offered over breakfast.

"Get married."

You choked on your coffee. "We said we'd wait until I'm back in DC." Alden held your hand and played with the engagement ring on your finger. You looked down there and remembered his proposal.

Alden was having lunch with his mom, like every other Saturday. He's been a mama's boy since he was born and on top of those lunches, he would call her every two days, just to check on her and talk about everything and nothing.

When he told her about you, Mrs Parker wasn't thrilled and it was only because of the age difference. She doubted that a girl half her son's age could be serious about him and she didn't want her baby to have his heart broken - again. Obviously, Alden knew it'd be her reaction, so he quickly organized a meeting between both of you, and by the end, you had stolen his mother's heart.

Since then, every lunch started with her asking about you. Why weren't you joining them? How were you doing? How was work? ...

"Well there's something I need to talk to you without her knowing." He told his mom.

"You are not breaking up with this girl, Alden."

He chuckled. "That's literally the opposite, ma. I wanna propose to her."

Mrs Parker gasped as if she was the one being proposed to. She immediately asked how he was planning it, if he had the ring - he didn't so she offered to go ring shopping with him -, what he was going to say. "I'm actually going to know your help." And he told her the entire plan.

As a date night, Alden invited you to go see a musical at the Kennedy Center, starring your favorite actor. You were absolutely delighted about it, and loved the show from beginning to end. Alden did enjoy it too, but what he loved the most was how your eyes sparkled and your smile widened. Walking out of the venue, hand in hand, Alden listened to you going on and on about your celebrity crush, especially about one particular song they sang. It took you a long moment to notice the limo parked there.

"Fancy!" You exclaimed and started to walk on the other side. But the driver standing there had opened the door, and Alden didn't move an inch.

"That's our ride."

And he wasn't kidding. Alden helped you inside the limo. He offered a glass of champagne as the car moved. "What is happening?" You giggled and blushed, kinda overwhelmed by this much of romance and luxury. You never thought you'd get to ride a limo one day, but here you were. Drinking champagne with the man you love, the smell of leather and his cologne intoxicating your senses. "Where are we going?"

"Just enjoy the ride my love." He leaned in to kiss you, and you didn't waste a second before intensifying it. All teeth and tongue, you were ready let Alden ruin you here and there. You didn't know if the driver could see you, but he could probably hear. "Easy Tiger," he smiled against your lips.

You didn't know how long the ride lasted, but you spent the entire time questioning Alden, about the whereabouts, or what this and that buttons would do. "Well this one, love, does something amazing. Press it." You did and the window rolled down. Alden laughed and you gently slapped his chest. "Jerk!"

"But seriously, press this one. I think you'll like it." Suspicious that he was making fun of you again, you still pressed the button he was showing. You heard a noise and looked up. The ceiling trap was opening itself. You grinned at Alden, who winked. He stood up, offered his hand for you to join him. You quickly kicked off your heels in order to not ruin the leather seats, and stood through the trap. Washington DC was unfolding in front of you in a new different way.

The wind was hitting you, but you didn't care at all. You felt amazing. Carefree. "People who say that money can't buy happiness are liars." You took a deep breath, it was almost too much oxygen. "Look at the city, baby, not me!" You exclaimed.

He shook his head no. "I'm looking right at my happiness."

Could he be any more perfect?

You grabbed him by the neck and brought his mouth to yours. Your tongue immediately went for his, not caring that you were offering a show to anyone in the street at this moment. It didn't take long to feel his cock twitching in his suit pants and you teasingly touched him, earning some nice noises from his mouth. "You do deserve to be taken care of,"

"As much as I would love to, we're almost there."

The car stopped and a few seconds later, the door opened. Alden got out first and offered his hand to you. It didn't take long until you realized where you were. "We're--home. Already?" You laughed and kissed him.

"One day, we saw a limo driving by us and you said you wished you knew what it felt like. Now you do,"

"Indeed! And it was absolutely amazing! What have I done to deserve you?"

You eagerly kissed him again, but he eventually stopped you to get inside. Much to your surprise, he stopped you when you were walking towards your shared apartment and dragged you to the rooftop stairs. "Babe?" You questioned but he just smiled.

You were taken aback once again.

The rooftop was fully decorated. Plants, flowers, lights and a couple of blankets. "I wanted to get a fire pit but it's technically not our property so--" Alden said before you could even form words. You looked at everything around you, tears forming in your eyes. It was the most romantic thing no one had ever done for you. You were speechless and didn't have time to process that Alden was on one knee, holding a velvet box in his hands.

"W-What?" Speechless. Breathless.

"I couldn't wait anymore." He chuckled. "Ever since I've made up my mind, I wanted to ask you there and then, but I had to make it as special as you are."

"Alden--" you breathed out, crying.

"If you cry now, I'm gonna cry too and won't be able to say everything I want to, baby." You tried to take a deep breath and let him continue.

"I spent most of my life feeling like there was something missing in my life, in me. I theorized a lot about what it was, I tried to convince myself it was this thing or that person. I even fooled myself for ten years with-- anyways," he chuckled through the tears. "I'm not fooling myself anymore. I feel complete. I am complete right now, because you were my missing piece, sweetheart." He grabbed the hand that wasn't covering your mouth. "Sometimes I just look at you and wonder how a young, smart, funny and gorgeous thing like you can love me, but then you look at me, and I feel like that most loved person on this earth."

"you are." You cried.

"Other times, I tell myself you should be with someone your age, someone you'll have more time with. But, I'm a selfish man. I want you all by myself. I want to be the one you love, the one you sleep next to every night. I want to be your husband more than I want you to be my wife. Does that make sense to you?" He sniffed with a laugh.

"Yeah, I understand what you mean."

"Okay good." He kissed your knuckles. "I love you more than life itself. I'd take hundreds of bullets for you, and believe me, I know how it feels."

"Stop it."

"My princess, my babydoll. Will you do me the honors and let me be your husband?"

"Like you have to ask."

Alden laughed through the tears because it was exactly the kind of answer he expected from you.

Obviously, the wedding was put on hold when you moved to LA. And getting married in Las Vegas had never been talked about before. "We have to wait for you to come back home, but I'm done waiting for you to be Mrs Parker. We can still have the ceremony we were planning in six months, but I want to marry you tonight."

"You're impossible to say no to, but I'm done waiting too. Let's do it, husband."

It struck me that you really dislike the word "guncle." I'm wondering if your nieces and nephews refer to you as that?

That term wasn't really a thing when I started having nieces and nephews 25 years ago. And now it's become a thing. I just feel like it's so often with gay men specifically, there's an infantilization of we're "boys." It's always "the boys." It's never like, "you men. Come over here." We're always like "boys," which I just think is sort of funny.

When people recognize you on the street, do you usually get "Girls" or "Book of Mormon"?

It's kind of an even split between those. Although it's been really interesting being here in Italy. There's a lot of "How I Met Your Mother" – and I only did two episodes of that show, and it ran for 10 years. It's a lot of episodes, and I was only in two of them. But people will say to me, "You were on 'How I Met Your Mother'!" I was like, "I guess I was?"

You talk also about in the book that Aaron Tveit replaced you in (Broadway's) "Hairspray." You mentioned something about how you were told that he was younger and straight, per your recollection. Do you think that this would still happen in 2023? Do you feel like you maybe miss out on roles due to your queerness in any way?

I feel like I probably did earlier in my career. I know I did. I think the benefit that I've had, especially when I started working on television in 2012-ish, was that there was more opportunity for queer characters, there were more queer voices being heard. And that's just continued. So I feel like there have been a lot of opportunities for me in the last 10 years that didn't exist 10 years prior.

One celebrity name drop in the book I love was Murray Bartlett being the doorman at an underwear party you attended. He's having a bit of a moment right now. Have you been in touch at all?

Well-deserved. We did "Welcome to Chippendales" together. I got to play his boyfriend. And he was just off "The White Lotus," had already filmed "The Last of Us." We cranked out that "Chippendales" show pretty quickly last summer, and then it was airing. I know he has a few film projects. But the thing I love about Murray is that he keeps a pretty low profile when he's not working. He keeps his life pretty simple. He doesn't live in Los Angeles or New York and really just has a very low-key life, which I really respect a lot. Because I think he's always just been such a cool guy. Just to simplify it. But man oh man, did I have a crush on him.

Who wouldn't?

It was crazy. He had the mustache going, it was like 2003, he had just been on "Sex and the City." I was like, that's for me. I was not for him, as I discuss in the book, but then later, I got to play his boyfriend. So, you know, it kind of worked out.

Switching gears here a second. I know you've written about your grief in the past. My dad died about a year ago, so that totally resonated. Where are you with your grief right now? I know it's been a long time. But how are you?

Thank you for asking. It's an odd feeling to know that I've been alive longer without my dad than I was with him.

As I creep closer to the age he was – he was 61 when he died. Not that it seemed old, but it just seemed very far away. I will turn 45 this year. So it's getting closer. I know it's not tomorrow, but if all goes well, I'll get there. So that has brought up some strange feelings.

Then there'll be great moments that happen in your life and you're going to feel this pang of loss that they're not there to see you do these things.

You never quite recover from it, and I watch it with my siblings too, as they have kids, and they all navigate it in a different way having children, and how they relate to their kids as parents. We laugh about things that my father used to say to us that certainly would not fly today that he said in the '80s. So it's never something that really leaves you, and that can be a very comforting thing too.

- Moving to a different borough during his late teens gave Max the perfect opportunity to start fresh and find himself a girl who didn’t know what he looked like during his more gangly and awkward phases of adolescent growth. And that’s exactly what he did; though whether or not he was still gangly and awkward is definitely up for debate.

- A pretty girl is a pretty girl but Max definitely has an especially stiff hard on for girls; or boys, who are “sinners”. He likes rambunctious people who get down and dirty, and who can hold their own against his equally unsavory “business practices”. He doesn’t see himself leaving this job of his anytime soon so he’s looking for someone who can roll with the punches, or at least someone who knows when to duck.

- Max adheres to a pretty hard ‘love at first sight’ policy, if he likes someone, he likes them the first time he sees them, and it only spirals from there. That’s what’s good about him: your personality will be a plus but it technically doesn’t even matter. Whoever you turn out to be is irrelevant; he loves you from the beginning and he’s determined to love you no matter what.

- For obvious reasons, the way Max goes about his crushes all depends on the type of person he’s managed to fall for. If the girl is sweet then he’s gonna find it a lot harder to get close to her, but if they’re on the “sour” side, he’ll find it a lot easier. He just knows how to handle and appeal to those types of characters a lot better.

- He doesn’t really know how to act like a gentleman without it coming off as awkward and insincere so he’d probably just play into the whole “rapscallion thing” and teasingly make himself out to be some sort of thug: all the while behaving in an obviously good natured way so you; the “good girl”, don’t actually see him as a threat or think he’s willing to hurt you. He might pull your leg or act unceremonious and uncivilized but that’s just his personality; and the personality of most teenage boys in your area so it doesn't scare you off.

- Although, as I said before: Max is typically attracted to people who aren’t very innocent and sweet. You don’t have to be born with a “how to pick pocket” pamphlet in your brain, but having a mind that conjures up insults and quick comebacks will definitely help your case.

- When you meet him for the first time, he’ll undoubtedly manage to get a rise out of you and though you’re trying your best to scare him off; what with all your insults and other signs of verbal distaste for him, all you manage to do is draw him and make him want to know you even more.

- Unfortunately for you, Max’s usual method for making new friends is trying to prove that he’s better than or just as good as them. Impressing them by triumphing over them and making sure that they don’t write him off too quickly; even if it means that they initially dislike him.

- Max isn’t shy in the slightest: he’ll interject himself into your life as soon as possible and probably piss you off in the process, all before redeeming himself in one way or another; forcing you to drop your animosity towards him against your own better judgement.

- If you’re the type of girl who’s willing to do some terrible shit for some money, he’d probably tease you about being “just a girl” but wouldn't miss the opportunity to get close to you; either convincing you to join forces with him after seeing how much potential you have or taking you in under his wing/letting you join his makeshift business after you approach him yourself.

- He uses this newfound relationship of yours to get closer to you and otherwise cockblock you. Oh, what’s this? You’re talking to another boy? Time to call you over when he really doesn’t need to and either divvy up your cash or brief you on your next set of shenanigans.

- He’d make jokes about your “new romance” with another boy but would grow annoyed and act somewhat betrayed whenever you’d blow him off to hang out with them. He’d never come up with an arguably valid excuse; mainly because he didn’t have one, but he’d say something along the lines of how the two of you are partners and that you need to stick together and trust no one else.

- Sometimes you’ll get into fights over his possessiveness or in your eyes; his moodiness/pushiness, but you’re never able to stay mad at each other for very long. You’ll walk down the street, swearing you won’t talk to him for the rest of your life but a few glances from across the road as he works for his mother; seeing the way he stops in his tracks to stare at you and the way his eyes hold a hope that you’ll approach him, and your resolve breaks little by little; even if you really want to punish him.

- Working for his mother gave him a surprising amount of strength and he likes to use it to his advantage from time to time: picking you up and helping you down from places regardless of whether or not you actually need him to; playing chivalrous. He always feels a wave of pride wash over him when you look to him whenever you need some help; especially if there’s other boys there that you could have or maybe even should have asked. It inflates his ego to consider the fact that you think he’s the strongest one in the vicinity.

- Whenever him and his mother drive around town; particularly if you aren’t very close yet, he likes to smile down and offer you a ride: helping you up happily if you shyly agree and sitting thigh to thigh as you ride on the little step in back.

- He walks you home and to school a lot as well; even though he doesn’t go himself (I think?). He gets up early to walk with you yet plays it off like he has things to do whenever you ask why he’s awake; even though his job doesn’t start for another hour or he took off just to come and take you.

- His arm around your shoulders while he guides you around town. He always makes a joke out of it, slinging his arm around you while he makes some sort of teasing comment, but it allows him to be affectionate with you and scare off potential suitors all the same.

- He’s kind of a little asshole but he’s also sort of cute with it. Like yes, he pushed you into a pool of water; clothes and all, but he did jump in after you and the two of you did have a lot of fun. They’re the sorts of things that you brush off as stupid situations that all guys get into with their male friends; things you’d know nothing about since you’re a girl and always left out of them, but it’s definitely more of a “stupid things guys do when they have a crush” sort of thing and an attempt to tear down your walls and get closer to you.

- He looks back at these moments fondly and thinks of them as proof that you have to like him back or at least be close to realizing that you have all along. He imagines that you can use them as evidence to choose him over someone else or that you’ll both be able to think back of them years down the line and reminisce about how the two of you fell in love.

- He’s definitely stolen some kind of jewelry for you and though you have to hide it from your mother; knowing you’d never be able to explain or come up with an excuse, you still wear it every day and night.

- If you’re particularly small or of the innocent variety then he’d definitely be fairly protective of you: acting like your knight in shining armor and keeping an eye on you, making sure you stay relatively out of trouble and always having your back against the dangerous fools of the city.

- Him getting into a fight over you is pretty much inevitable. The minute a guy disrespects or threatens you, he loses his temper and winds up rolling around on the ground with them; getting in as many punches as he can.

- It isn’t often but he’ll occasionally get himself into worrying situations just to have you show that you care for him; especially if you’re a ‘play it cool’ type of person. He’ll pretend to drown or say something about him being in danger or he’ll purposefully scuff himself up to see if you’ll notice and care: and he’s always ecstatic to see that you do; even if you merely make a joke about it or pretend like you care a lot less than you really do.

- There are definitely times during your friendship where you jokingly pretend to be husband and wife: jokingly because he’s absolutely only joking. He’s just calling you dearest for the bit haha. It’s so funny when you rest your head lovingly on his shoulder and stroll with him arm in arm. Finishing each others sentences really takes this comedic routine to the next level haha.

- Your ability to momentarily fluster him is unmatched; even if you don't quite notice the fact that you’ve made him nervous or the reason you've somehow attained this new skill.

- He’s got a lot of pictures of you on his camera. Most of them are joking, a sort of “oh, come and model for me” brand of over exaggerated poses, but he’ll also occasionally catch you off guard with a quick “look over here” and a flash of the light. Sometimes you’ll take them purposefully and try to look tough or cool; something he finds particularly adorable, and other times he’ll use the excuse of wanting to see how well it works to get close ups and candid photos of you. They’re some of his most treasured possessions.

- He looks you up and down and watches you under his lashes a lot: and if you were ever paying enough attention to notice or were just a bit more knowledgeable when it came to romance; you’d easily be able to tell that he was in love with you just from those little looks alone.

- He spies on you but he’s a whole lot better at not being caught then Noodles is so sorry but you’ll probably never find out about his creepy occasional habit.

- At some point, he learns the usefulness of a bra and subsequently hands you things he needs you to hold and/or hide. Later looking at them like “oh dear, this has touched the tit of the woman I love” or sneaking glances at you as you dig everything out of your shirt once you've both gotten away from the scene of the crime.

- Okay, but him dressing you up in his old hand-me-downs in an attempt to keep you safe and make it easier for you to run and him falling even more in love with you as a butch, soot and sweat covered little girl; head over heels for you the same way a normal boy would react to seeing a girl in her Sunday best.

- Speaking of clothes: at some point, you’ll find yourself in love with another boy; enough to where you’re attempting to dress up and make yourself more presentable, and though you insist it’s for another reason entirely, he’ll know why you’re doing it immediately and the thought of it will kill him. He'll feel betrayed and like the guy is unworthy and he’ll probably make comments about how “if a guy doesn't like you in your normal clothes then he wont like you in a fancy dress”. And though the comments bother you, you try not to take them to heart: responding with something like “I don’t know what you’re talking about” or how “if anyone if going to like [you] they’re gonna have to realize you’re a girl.”.

- I don’t think that Max would confess, I think he’d just lay one on you one day and keep kissing you until you melted or wrenched yourself away from him; if only to look at him in surprise and ask what he “did that for”.

“Cause I wanted to.” He’d say out of breath and you’d pause before saying something like ‘oh,’ or ‘you could have asked’; as you took into consideration exactly what he was trying to tell you.

“Can I” He’d respond and after a small pause, you’d agree and he’d grin; glancing down at your lips before crushing you to him once again.

It's a week before Winterfest and Xavier being the sneaky little boy he is manages to get his passport and travel to Britechester to see his siblings. In his excitement, it seems that he has entered the wrong campus

Su: Hey do you know Alaia Wagner? She weasled her way into my art gallery. Would it be bad if I used this chance to get closer to Grayson? I mean obviously his "boyfriend" can't do shit and I -

Vaughn isn't listening he spots a little kid roaming the front entrance of Foxbury student lunge. He looks oddly familiar.

Su: Vaghun you bastard are you listening??? Im talking here! Im being so serious!

Vaughn: Yeah dude I totally support your efforts in being a homewrecker just leave me out of it. look over there doesn't that kid look like Veronica?

Su: You fucking suck, is Veroinca the only thing on your mind?

Vaughn: Listen Su we are both going after the Reeves Siblings the difference is Grayson is in a happy relationship leave the boy alone

"Reeves? Is your sister Veronica? She's kinda short and can be a little mean sometimes?" "Yes! I wanted to surprise her but I think I'm on the wrong campus" "No worries little dude, I can help your sister and I are very close friends"

Vaughn takes Xavier and finds a private area in the student lounge to wait for Veronica to come over. Vaughn just has to ask how a little kid like Xavier found himself miles away from his sheltered home in Windenburg

"So you sneaked off and travelled miles away from home without telling your parents? they must be worried sick about you" "It wasn't my fault! they wouldn't let me come, so I had to take matters into my own hands!" "You're a funny little dude"

Xavier: I just missed my sibling so much! it's so boring at home with just my mom and dad

Vaughn: I understand, it can be very boring and lonely being the only one at home. Still, what you did was very dangerous I'm sure your parents are very worried.

Do you think the way book!Aemond and Alicent thinks about Rhaenyra is psychosexual?

Alicent

i can't be sure about alicent tbh. Perhaps in a fanfic scenario where we stretch things, add and cut whatever we please it can totally work. But in f&b, alicent came off more as insecure than anything else. She became competitive about who would be the first beautiful lady of the realm and her opponent was a child.

Then after she finally gave birth to her sons, she was pinning more blame on Rhaenyra. Certainly she was angry with Viserys for overlooking their children and not recognize their worth. In her eyes, not making aegon his heir was probably humiliating because it had never happened before and socially it was not expected.

From my perspective, while things probably soured with Viserys as time went on, Alicent is a hypocrite and it's easier to blame a girl for doing [insert whatever she comes up with on the spot] wrong than to recognize the flaws her sons had.

Viserys wasn't cruel. Flawed definitely but he loved rhaenyra and helaena. And notice how there's never a praise about aegon or aemond from within court before the war started? That's on them. But of course Alicent wouldn't see it that way.

I imagine Alicent as that toxic boy mom who would blame the entire world before her offsprings. Yet, that love is still suppressed by the hatred she seems to have towards Rhaenyra. There was a certain point where you have to wonder what even keeps that strength going? Even after Alicent had lost everything she still willingly sent her small granddaughter to attempt an assassination. A child against a child. 0 thought on the repercussions jaehaera could have faced. In the end her hatred won even the supposed love she was meant to have for her own blood.

I don't know if I would call this psychosexual rather than obsession at its purest form.

Aemond

With Aemond, things are easier 'cause boy does he have chunks of misogynistic thoughts centered only on Rhaenyra... 💀

He's furious that she's a female ruler and whatever neglect he was feeling from his father is blamed on her (guess who taught him that). Whatever hurt and injustice he must have felt has been twisted into hating her 'cause everything is Rhaenyra's fault. Now consider their twisted Targaryen sibling relationship - since he's always more than willing to talk about her sexuality, as evidenced in the book, he never misses the opportunity to undermine her status by discussing her sexuality.

On the one hand, I can picture the resentment over this woman who so boldly keeps fighting about a throne he doesn't believe she's entitled to and on the other being torn between wanting her dead and wanting to own her for what she represents.

Few days ago, a mutual of mine started a similiar discussion and a very interesting point they brought was this:

I think it’s also notable how people emphasise that aemond wants what aegon has, but this could also be taken to mean rhaenyra since she’s the elder and the idea of betrothing them had been presented. like “aegon may not care about the throne and the sister that was stolen from him but /i/ DO”.

Forever striving for what Aegon has and could have had, including even hypothetical possibilities. So I'd say the way he thinks can definitely be read as psychosexual.

Nah, bc I have tingz to say about Halloweentown!

I'll start off saying that I wouldn't really want a re-write or a reboot or something like that, but the way it could have been spread out was a missed opportunity I'll always lament on. What do you mean Gal? I'm glad you asked ghost in my corner! I mean to say that HT really could have been the Cromwell series and not just about my gurl Marnie. But instead ALL of the Cromwell children and their relations with magic and the magic worlds.

(Is she about to go into a tangent? Yes, yes she it)

Let's talk about little Sophie. Movie one demonstrates just how much more powerful she was to Marnie with her being much younger and already using magic without her knowledge. Now the argument could be that its just how all the children were since at that age of course they wouldn't know how to control their magic. However, never once was it mentioned either offhandedly or directly that Marnie or Dylan also experienced such a thing. Perhaps they did, but for argument sake, I'm only using the facts shown in the movies and the fact is, Sophie wanted that cookie and gonna get that cookie 🍪. All that being said, I wish we got more of Sophie and that struggle of obviously being the Family's prodigy but being overlooked by Aggie's favoritism towards Marnie (*I'll be going over this much much later in a different post 👀).

Perhaps we could have seen the fear that she'll never be as good as Marnie despite being stronger and since she's not getting that same level of training, Sophie might fear that her abilities will diminish instead of flourish into the Witch we all know she could be. I think the third movie should have been more about Sophie and that internal struggle of knowing deep down she's naturally stronger, but could never measure up to Aggie's high expectations. I'm not saying I'd like to see Sophie suffer or turn "Evil" but I'd love to see the turmoil that would arise from that internal struggle and how she views her relationships with her grandma and Marnie. Maybe she sees Aggie the way that her mother sees Aggie, maybe Sophie gets Gwen a little deeper. Maybe she understands Dylan in a way that makes Sophie a bridge between him and Marnie.

Speaking of Dylan. My poor boy, Dylan. OK, where to start. Oh, I know! (Bit of a rant incoming) How about the blatant disrespect for his boundaries and preferences? How many times has he stated he doesn't want to identify as a Warlock or that he doesn't feel comfortable with Magic to begin with? Since movie one this man has stated that he didn't like magic and that's more of a science guy. Cool, that's cool right? Nope, not for Marnie and Aggie apparently.

Yes, we all know that Dylans isn't the strongest warlock and that's because he has successfully locked it away within himself, that's his prerogative, he's happier with the "Normies" he's comfortable. Yet time and time again he's pushed into uncomfortable situations for the sake of Marnie's comfort (end of rant). Dylan is a muti-layered character that's actually very complex, however the story seems to continue this one note narrative of him being the "buzzkill" the "party-pooper" the one always complaining about having an amazing gift. But what may be a gift to you can be a curse to someone else. To Marnie, discovering that she's (genetically and historically) special was one of the greatest days of her life while simultaneously, it was crushing to Dylan. That gap of weirdness to normalcy has just widened and now its not as simple as being an outcast (for early 2000s standards lol) but it's inherently linked within. To Dylan, he knows he could never really be normal. Like Sophie, we really needed to see that turmoil played out without it being a joke because after the first and second movies, it's not funny anymore. He's not Marnie, he doesn't see Magic as a deep fundamental part of his being.

Can you imagine the feeling of being told your family name is important enough that it links to the founding of an entire world and that very world expects so much from you, but you don't have the drive to deliver? And why should you, it's just a name, right? You didn't choose to Heir from greatness, why is there so much pressure to do what you don't want to? That's what I think rings through Dylan. Because even in a place of Monsters and ghouls and magic, he's still the outcast. A Cromwell who doesn't have the ambition to become as great as their line before them? It's unheard of, it's strange. So, something must be wrong with them right? I think the fourth movie (we will FOREVER ignore HT4, what HT4?!) Should haven been about Dylan and his full acceptance as he is without the influence of his family. I think it should have been him going to a college of his own choosing (bc why would you make one child attend the same college as the other child just to keep an eye on them – uh, huh!?) we watch him find his footing and meets another witch/warlock who also finds mortal normalcy comforting. I think if he finds people like him who validates his feelings Dylan would be able to come to terms with so many internal struggles that be has such as he quiet resentment towards Marnie and Aggie. I think at even at a young age, Dylan truly understood Gwen and that's why he was always on her side with everything (also bc he's a mama's boy. Let's be real ✨️).

Often times I just that there were several missed opportunities for flesh out these characters and their importance in the world of Halloweentown and how they each interacted with their magical roots and culture.

I want to talk about Gwen as well, but I think that deserves its own post so I'll be doing another long one on her (and Aggie). But I will say you do look at things from her perspective as an adult in comparison as a child. I actually feel sort of sad for her, but I'll get into it soon. I have so many things to say about Halloween town and alot of the old 2000s disney spooky movies we grew up with and how they connect. I did an entire video on TT on how I believe HT and nightmare before Christmas is connected which I'll be placing here but in a more written cohesive format.

Stranger Things Zodiac Signs: The Girls

Max Mayfield // Sagittarius

I think most people agree Max is some type of fire sign, my argument is that she is a Sagittarius specifically. Max loves a challenge, we see this with her high scores in Dig Dug in season 2, and also how she was hell bent on joining the party. If Mike wasn't so against it, I don't think she would have made the effort. Sagittarius also likes jumping into new adventures, this is obvious throughout the entire series with her. Max is known for her rollercoaster relationship with Lucas, she breaks up with him and gets back together often. Sagittarius is notorious for keeping one eye on the exit within their romantic relationships. They don't like to be tied down, and hate to talk about their feelings. We see this in season 4 when it takes her NEARLY DYING for her to finally open up to vulnerability, and she still does it in the form of letters instead of face to face conversation.

However, it's different with platonic relationships. Sagittarius are amazing friends, they are low maintenance and are always up for a good time. We see this with Max and Eleven's friendship. She immediately calls Eleven up, says boys are stupid and they lie, and takes her shopping and out for ice cream. Shows her what it's really like to be a teenage girl. I honestly loved her and Eleven's friendship, and they definitely need to bring that shit back in season 5. Sagittarius are also known for being clever and having a great sense of humor, we see this in Max's character in season 4. Her sarcastic comments to Dustin in the beginning were hysterical, and she was the one who figured out the connection between the number of gates with the clock chime. Max has insane Sagittarius energy, and that's why we love her.

Jane "Eleven" Hopper // Pisces

This girl is a Pisces, full stop. Eleven is very emotional and impressionable, we see this with how she interacts with the men in her life. Poor thing was manipulated by Dr. Brenner most of her life, and it took her a long time for her to unlearn that. With her relationship with Mike, she just took whatever he said at face value (until she started hanging with Max.) She got upset with him when he wouldn't say the L word to her, and wasn't afraid to show those emotions. When she was with Hopper, she was quick to huge emotional responses when he was trying to enact discipline, whether or not he was right is a different debate.

Pisces is also known to be very mystical, to have "half body half spirit." Eleven can LITERALLY see into another world, her physical body still on Earth while her consciousness peaks into the Upside Down and beyond. They also have a habit of adopting other people's problems, we see that throughout the show. Something that comes to mind is with Billy, she wanted to dive deep into his psyche and try to understand him more. Pisces tend to feel insecure about their place, and want to feel needed and important. We see this when she loses her powers, and decides to join Dr. Owens for the Nina Project to get her powers back, despite knowing it will be traumatic for her. Eleven is loyal and unselfish, ready to sacrifice herself when needed. Something every Pisces needs to look out for.

Erica Sinclair // Capricorn

Miss. amERICA herself, is definitely a Capricorn. She is very intelligent and outspoken, and is incredibly ambitious. Capricorns are known for their goals of seeking fortune and power, and Erica gave this whole speech about how much she loves capitalism. She was the first to call out the DnD group for wanting to retreat, and she wanted to finish it to the death having faith she would succeed, and she did! She is determined, and quick to follow any opportunity that could help with her goals. Erica is constantly moving forward, and doesn't let anyone or anything hold her back.

Capricorns are not comfortable with ambiguity, they like to view their world in terms of black and white, not a million shades of gray. We see this in season 3 and 4 with her trying to understand the Upside Down. When Dustin goes on with his theories, she's the first to call him out and explain it in more definitive terms. She is factual, logical, and direct. Erica lives her life with a her way or the highway mentality, and that frequently leads to arguments. Capricorns have a tendency to come off as cold and shallow, but if someone manages to find their way into their inner circle, Capricorns will deeply cherish them and will remain loyal to them. We see this with her relationship to Lucas, she may seem like she doesn't care about her brother, but she loves him very deeply. She follows him and his friends on all the craziness, and doesn't hesitate when the going gets tough.

It is pretty fucked up how Amy is mostly reduced to the baby of the family when she's around them(coming in the next day to find Mrs. Laurence sitting in her mother's lap, as if being made `the baby' again,) would've loved it if she and Laurie had settled down somewhere else. Also childless, because I really don't see either of them being parents, they're not like Meg and John or Fritz and Jo, them being caged in a white picked fence never felt right, and I'm so glad you pointed it out because I'd never been able to put it into words myself.

Same anon here this is CONT. It also would've showed, as you said, that not everyone needs to seetle back home with children to be completely realized. Completely missed opportunity, putting Amy and Laurie in the same box as Meg and John and Jo and Fritz didn't fit them as charactes and I fully believe LMA didn't care enough about that

I wouldn't go so far as "fucked up" myself just bc sibling/birth order dynamics are pretty normal (and as a baby of the family myself it's a pretty sweet gig lol). I think it fits in with the general dynamic that LMA is setting up and exploring throughout the novel, and at the same time I think it stifles Amy's growth as a person and restricts her to a certain role and persona within the context of the March household. I talked about the bias LMA has towards Jo (for obvious reasons, as the author insert) and I think that the character of Amy (as well as Beth, for a completely different reason) is one of the places where the use of the Alcott family as a template and source is a weakness rather than a strength. For all LMA is a skilled writer, poor Amy just doesn't get her character dug into and explored with the same depth. And that's a hard thing to do, balancing four characters like that! It's a testament to LMA's skill that they're all as well developed and vivid as they are, and I'm not going to ding the book for being biased.

We do diverge on our opinion of Amy's ending just because I would've preferred she didn't end up with Laurie at all. I don't think I would've liked both of them settling away from home, just because I like Mr. Laurence too much to have his boy far away from him, but I also just... Don't like Laurie. I liked him early on, but he got less charming as the book went on, and I'm very much still not over the fact that he said on the page, twice, that he was settling for Amy cause he couldn't have Jo. I know he didn't continue to hold this position, necessarily, but it still sours the whole relationship for me that that was something he said/felt at all. It didn't have to be in there, and it was, and that's telling of him as a character. Ultimately I think Laurie ends up doing many right things for completely the wrong reasons and I just. Don't like it.

That said, in terms of the ending they DID get, I think it was basically the best possible option. I can't see either of them having the same joy in parenthood that Meg or Jo do, no, and the text kind of acknowledges that when it talks about their daughter in the last chapter, but it also says that her being sickly brought them together like nothing else could, which I can absolutely see. In a weird way, I think that the anxiety of having an ill child would have them both be more present and involved as parents than they may otherwise have been, just because being good parents would feel more urgent for a child who might not live long. And there's the fact that they experienced Beth's passing separately from the rest of the family, but together with each other.

I think my preferred ending for Amy would've been, like... She realizes at some point that maybe Laurie isn't a dream she wants to pursue, and either decides to stay in Europe and study art (which I know is not in keeping with the idea of "genius" at the time) or has a genuine romance with some completely new guy who's only ever known her as the self-possessed and fully-realized Amy, rather than the fourth March sister, and she gets to come to the realization that her ambition was less about being fancy or famous and more just about distinguishing herself and finding an identity that's hers alone.

Ultimately I think the sticking point that I come to with the novel, thematically, is that it has kind of a one-note image of the family relationship as, like, if you love your family you want to be around them all the time and get pretty much everything you need within that dynamic, and there's not really space for loving your family but needing to have your own life and identity outside and away from the family. Which kind of draws in other questions about contemporary and historical attitudes towards the family, but I don't think "I love my family but I need to exist outside of them" is necessarily a revolutionary take for 1868 since it's present in more than one Austen novel, at the very least.

111 Self Ship Questions Part 1

1-10 Basics

Who do you self-ship with? What’s your ship name together?

I selfship with Prosciutto (jojo). As in, Prosciutto from Jojo's bizarre adventure from part 5 golden wind/vento aureo/ougon no kaze. He's a minor antagonist from that part of the anime/manga. For the sake of simplicity, our ship name is ProSid. But I also like to use Ham Sandwich (because my self insert's name is Focaccia, Italian bread). And sometimes Heaven and Earth.

How long have you self-shipped with them?

I have shipped with him since September 2020, which makes it about 2 and a half years as of right now!

When did you get together in your shipping canon?

A year after my self insert joined his gang. It would have been a slow burn that lasted years but his team mates really pushed the relationship into becoming real. And because on Prosciutto's part, he didn't want to regret it as he could die on the job any time.

How did you meet?

Not a very good meeting... my insert got caught in a gang in fight and Prosciutto took the chance to knock me out and kidnap me to La Squadra's base... He needed the information my insert had and so used the opportunity.

When did you first know you loved each other?

Both of us were very much in denial of our interests in each other. For Prosciutto, he fussed over me a lot. Whether in general or for my training literally anything would get him a little riled up. He was harsh because that's how he showed love but it was obvious he was starting to not like it if I were upset, especially at him. His attachment was so strong he'd talk about me with the other members a bit too much and they started to notice and he finally accepted his feelings

I really didn't want to accept my feelings out of fear he doesn't feel the same way. But eventually I realized his smile and happiness is so important to me there's no way I couldn't be in love with him. No one really had to tell me I just realized the way my heart fluttered for him every single time must mean something because I don't usually feel this way about anyone.

Who made the first move?

Prosciutto! He asked me/my insert out after a lot of insistence from Pesci. He was actually quite nervous but pretended not to be, and even assumed perhaps because of our terrible first meeting and his harsh ways I wouldn't feel the same way. But I absolutely noticed that he treated me with more warmth than a lot of his team members.

What was your first date like?

It was a really sweet, in a nice restaurant that Prosciutto picked out for us. I could tell he's nervous but he was good at being chatty, and he was SO funny and a perfect gentleman. He told me about the foods that we ordered and was so attentive... I was already in love with him by the time we had our first date anyway... but seeing him so relaxed and having a bit of fun.. I really loved it. He kissed me goodnight at my door.

When did you first say “I love you” to each other?

Prosciutto said it while we were arguing about something. He got really heated about my safety and I carelessly asked why does it bother him so much he couldn't take it and just told me. While I said it when we had sex for the first time... I couldn't help not saying it when he was inside me....

What are the most important relationship events for you? Drop a timeline!

Oh boy! Basically... 1998: first met (meet ugly) 1999: got together 2001: Prosciutto (almost) died 2002: married 2003: child 1 2005: child 2

How extensive is your shipping canon?

Quite extensive! It spans several years and includes fankids.. the only thing missing really is key details. But the outline and general timeline of the shipping canon is complete!
