trektober day 21: pining

“How long are you gonna stare at her like a creep before you go talk to her?” Chris snapped out of his reverie as Bob swung his leg up onto the barre next to him.

“What?” he asked, half-chuckling. Bob raised his eyebrows and shot a pointed look across the room.

Una was on the floor in the splits, doing a leisurely stretch from side to side. She was in a light blue leotard today, which looked stunning next to her pale skin, though Chris had never seen her in a color that didn’t suit her. Her long legs stretched forever, and Chris followed the lines of her legs to her waist and ribs, and to the perfect curve of her arms. Bob cleared his throat.

“Wha- seriously?” Chris asked with over-the-top incredulity. “I talk to Una all the time, what are you talking about?”

Bob rolled his eyes. “Hey, if you wanna wait another three years to ask her out, go ahead. I can’t promise everyone else will, though.” He leaned into his stretch, finally dropping the subject.

Una met Chris’s eyes, and he grinned at her. She smiled back, a much more friendly and open expression than he ever would have expected when she first joined the company, and it did something funny to Chris’s chest.

Bob muttered about lovesick idiots under his breath.

ROTTMNT OC

May I introduce you to Ginny, aka a mutant Pink Bellied Side Neck Turtle. (thank u @crazy-emo-on-the-loose )

(y’know i don’t know how to draw so i used one of the boys reference sheet)

BACKSTORY:

Ginny was born as a common, living in an Australian stream, how did she end up in New York? Simple, poachers who sold exotic species to pet stores.

Ginny could be considered a teenager when everything turned upside down. She was there, calm in her aquarium in the pet store in Manhattan... when that giant red thing full of spikes crashed against the glass of the store, knocking over her aquarium and smashing it to pieces.

Ginny somehow escaped being swept away by a strange pink root, and hid behind the cracked counter, unluckily, or fortunately, that a sizable green mosquito managed to bite her. This is how she went from being a small river turtle to a 5.54 ft tall one. Human DNA? Probably from the thousands of children who came to her, fingering her shell with their sticky fingers.

She spent a few nights hidden in the dark alleys of the city, until some black things that fluttered dropped a Cloaking Brooch, so she could blend in with humans, and after having stolen some clothes from a clothesline.

It wasn't until a week later that she ran into four brothers, she was so surprised by their appearance that she was almost run over if not because the blue one pulled her at the last moment. His brooch fell and the surprised now were them, clearly, there was another mutant turtle like them.

CURIOSITIES:

Ginny doesn’t know how to talk. The boys and April self-proclaimed themselves as their teachers.

Ginny, having been a turtle longer than them, he still maintains certain customs from that stage.

Donnie's future partner (yes, I'm sorry but in my head they make a very cute couple.)

Ginny seems to be the only one interested in Donnie's technology and science. Being that she is with him in the laboratory until late, trying to absorb as much information as possible.

Ginny remembers Raph from the Pet Store incident, and he couldn’t stop apologizing to her from breaking her aquarium.

Leo’s partner in crime.

Mikey’s her favorite, he named her.

The Infinite Highway is a liminal feeling story about Hazel, a drifter who goes out for a lone drive on a desert highway and winds up stuck in an unchanging loop of the same cacti and hill formations with the sun perpetually sitting just below the horizon at sunset.
