The left is the Fraction's tower from the Flash #790. The right is what remains of the Fraction's tower in a universe where the Fraction wins from the Flash #784.

The left one is clearly channeling speedforce but a significant portion is underground so I wouldn't be surprised if it's taking water and minerals from the ground as well. The right one is under quite a bit of dirt and it's warped and old. It sits where Central City and Keystone used to be. Only a desert remains. Clearly after the Fraction had drained a planet dry they just leave.

The Barry Allen from that universe used 'the last bit of magic and hope and light in the world' which was concentrated within a pearl and he took it to a room within the tower. He destroyed the tower with the pearl somehow. Barry was prepared to die (he didn't have his powers) but our universe's Jesse and Max saved him.

The interesting parts about this is that a) energy was released when the tower went down and b) Jesse and Max witnessed all of this.

I'm not really sure what happened with the pearl or why but it worked. Jesse and Max know it worked. They know how to defeat the Fraction.... at least they have an idea of how. Take down the tower.

#the unfortunate part is that Max is out of town and this is all happening in Flash Time so it'll take him way longer to get back #and Jesse may or may not be near death at this point. she won't be dead but i suspect heavily injured #she was ridiculously close to the blast #dc #dc comics #the flash #max mercury #barry allen #jesse quick #jesse chambers #one minute war #the tower reminds me of the one that was built in the future by that society that idolized wally #the one where they all wanted to be speedsters so they built a tower to siphon speedforce energy #and wally exploded it

it’s honestly impressive how disingenuous modern comics are to their previous canons. everyone has smth different to complain about here but specifically i am thinking how bart’s relationships with wally and barry got completely flipped around. how come wally has reverted back to being aggravating and untouchable while barry has just. out of the blue developed a relationship that isn’t just several levels of awkwardness and misplaced resentment and longing all mixed into one.

#honestly one of the only in character things geoff johns did was add that level of resentment to bart!! #b/c from the outside it really does look like barry is rebuffing him when in reality he’s just overwhelmed with his new life #and in turn bart not-quite idolizing wally but considering him the flash before barry actually had character development to its name #nobody look at me praising johns’ for this I feel sick already but. gritting teeth he can have good ideas sometimes. #btw this was inspired by that one dark crisis panel floating around and i haven’t read it so the context might change the reading but still #bart allen #barry allen #wally west #flashfam #dc
