Stranger Things S4 Spoilers

There is so much potential in the idea of One in the Upside Down who meets Billy and is absolutely fascinated by him. He sees him as something like his spiders, another misunderstood creature, and this time it's a boy made up of such delicious trauma and pain and hopelessness. A boy who was chosen by the MindFlayer and fought him off by clinging to a scrap of happiness, and then who found a way to survive in this desolate world with that same kind of tenacity.

How could he not be drawn in?

And obviously it's best if One shows up to Billy as his blond, blue eyed, twinky self first. If he lures him in and then finds a way to use him and mould him and shape him. If he flirts with him but also plays around with him. Experiments with him. Pulls out Billy's insecurities and guilt and taunts him with them, but then also offers comfort and kindness and understanding and some tenderness. Hurts him just to soothe him afterwards.

And Billy falls into it easily. Old patterns. Old habits.

Because One is a monster, and he makes sure that Billy believes he's a monster too, but he also reminds Billy that monsters have a place here. That he can fit in here in a way he never did before.

So it's painful. Angsty. Damn unhealthy and unhinged. But kind of delightful in the darkness.

(And ok, yeah, obviously the Billy/One ship name has to be Bone!)
