A Very Hum Bar Songkran
This is for @kpquickndirty, remix welcome.
This is ALSO for @songkranfest.
I've written this super-duper quickly, so it's probably a mess, but that's all part of the quickndirty fun. Inspiration from all over but mostly from here and here.
~~~
Porsche is up to something. Yok can always tell when Porsche is up to something.
“Only hand-sized water pistols are allowed inside the bar!” Ball shouts out as a small group enters. “You can leave your soakers in the bin by the door and collect them on the way out! Your first drink tonight comes with a free water pistol.”
Hum Bar is always a festive place, but it’s especially festive during Songkran. Yok has taken care to strew the place with fresh flowers, and she’s placed mats on the floor to prevent slipping, as patrons playfully squirt each other with small, brightly colored plastic water guns.
Everyone is smiling, and laughing, as it should always be in Hum Bar.
But Porsche… Porsche is far too quiet. He’s been whispering to the other bartenders whenever he thinks Yok isn’t watching, and his eyes shift nervously left and right.
He’s doing it again right now. He’s watching the door and muttering something to Jet behind his hand.
Then Tem comes in, carrying a bouquet of flowers.
“Now!” Porsche shouts. “Jom, get jae now!”
Yok’s first instinct is to brace herself to be soaked with water, but instead Jom, Porsche’s most precious and loyal friend, takes both of Yok’s wrists in his hands.
“Come with me, over here!” Jom says, and he guides her to the corner booth, where Tem has cleared space and is placing the flowers on the table.
Yok has an inkling of what’s going on now, and she wants no part of it. “Stop, stop at once!”
Porsche comes out from behind the bar, carrying a large silver bowl in his hands, full of water and flower petals.
“Hello, attention please!” Porsche calls out, and the din dies down as everyone turns heads to look at him. “Thank you, all of you, for joining us and celebrating Songkran with us! We’d now like to invite everyone to greet our senior, the wonderful, beautiful, talented, wise owner of this bar, Yok! She’s a little shy, but don’t let that stop you.”
Everyone laughs.
“I told you a million times, I am not an elder!” Yok objects. Porsche has tried to pull similar stunts before, one-on-one, in the back of Hum Bar or before a shift, but never in the middle of the night. Never before has he done it on this sort of scale, inviting all the guests to participate.
Sneaky, clever boy. It’s much harder for Yok to refuse, especially as the guests shout and encourage her to play along.
“Please, Yok?” Porsche asks. He approaches the table and sets the silver bowl in front of her, and Jet places the smaller one next to it. Then Porsche turns on the puppy eyes.
Yok feels her heart swell.
She’s objected for years, not feeling like it was her place, and also not wanting to feel old. But…
“Please?”
How can she say no?
“Oh, all right,” she relents, which causes everyone to cheer. “But let’s make this quick, so you all can get back to buying my booze, huh?” That earns her another laugh.
So, one by one, the patrons bow their heads to her, and they use the smaller bowl to respectfully run water over her hands until her fingers feel soft and tender. She gives each of them a word or two of advice while they listen with folded hands. Her words are pleasant little phrases that lift their hearts and make them smile.
The bartenders take their turns after the patrons. And of them, Porsche approaches her last. He holds her hands gently and looks up at her with something eager and desperate in his eyes, and Yok’s heart goes out to him.
After he washes her hands, she puts her soggy fingers on one of his cheeks.
“So naughty and stubborn,” she says, patting his cheek, and he has the grace to lower his eyes, even though he still smirks. “You finally found a way to make me cooperate, huh? After, what, four years?”
“Five,” he corrects.
“Cheeky,” Yok says.
“Do you have any words of wisdom for me, jae?”
What advice can she possibly give him? This boy has already been through things that Yok can hardly imagine. He’s practically a father to his brother, and he carries his family on his shoulders.
But still…
“You’re twenty-three now, aren’t you, Porsche?” she asks, and he nods, smiling. “Do this elder a favor and find someone who will fill your heart with joy and maybe look after you for a chance.”
At first, Porsche looks stunned. HIs face goes slack, like the possibility never even occurred to him. Then he grins and shakes his head.
“Aww, but flying solo is best way to—”
“Did I stutter?” Yok glares.
Porsche looks suitably terrified.
“No, ma’am.”
“Good.” Yok pulls out one of the water pistols she has tucked into the waistband of her skirt and aims it at Porsche. “Back to work with you.”
She pulls the trigger three times in rapid succession, and Porsche yelps.
Meeeel I was wondering.
How Bada and reader presents the girls to other people: my adoptive rebel daughters, my co workers, my sisters, my bodyguards?
Also would you add me to your taglist? Please🙇🏽‍♀️
such a good question!! (and yes of course you can be added to the taglist!!)
so since everyone knows that bada's from a chaebol family (if you don't know what that is i'll explain below the cut), just her presence alone would already intimidate the average person--even if they're moderately rich or influential, they'll never be on her level--never mind the fact that everyone also knows that bada runs some form of a mafia group. it's not exactly hidden, because if you're the average person, what are you doing to do about it? nothing.
so imagine that, perhaps you have a friend that somehow doesn't know about your union to bada--maybe they're more of a casual friend--this is about how it'd go.
"ah, it's so nice to see you again." you greet your friend. "this is my fiancée, lee bada."
bada steps up, her usual cold and professional demeanor shining through. "it's nice to meet you." she shakes hands with your friend, barely noticing the fact that they've begun to sweat, and their skin has turned about four shades paler. "and these are my most trusted staff," the bebe girls step forward, their usual upbeat disposition nowhere to be found--they're all strictly professional. "please trust them to keep you safe while you are in our home. they will do you no harm."
bada knows that her connection to the mafia world easily makes others fear her--so she tries her best to maintain her usual aura, while still assuaging any nerves your friend might be feeling. the last thing that she wants is to be the reason that your friend never visits you again.
"oh, and this is my personal bodyguard, hyo." you gesture to her, so she confidently takes a step up, giving your friend a polite bow before stepping behind you once again.
so essentially, although you don't necessarily try to intimidate anyone while introducing the girls or your fiancée, their presence just sort of does that naturally. while i'd love to say that they're silly, that's not really the case. even your closer friends, jae and the others for example, they still get the frigid, normally professional sides of the bebe girls.
they're really only playful and mischievous when it comes to you and bada, because they feel comfortable around you both, and because they know that their job is so important. even the slightest hint of weakness could lead to someone mistakenly thinking the girls are a way to get to you or bada.
which of course, they're not.
chaebol family: large family-controlled conglomerates who have significant economic power in south korea. the top ten collectively contributed to 60% of the the country's GDP in 2021. samsung, sk, and hyundai motors are the top chaebols in south korea.
Soompi 240111 🌷 Minnie
< series masterlist
Tumblr media Tumblr media
SEVENTEEN’s Minnie joins the cast of the upcoming variety show “Apartment 404”!
The idol singer will be starring alongside comedy legends Yoo Jae Suk and Yang Se Chan, as well as actress Oh Na Ra and actors Lee Jung Ha, and Cha Taehyun. Created by Jung Chul Min, other known as PD Jung, who has already been credited with the hit variety show “Sixth Sense”, the six entertainers will have to solve the mystery behind multiple curious events that occur in their new residence.
tvN’s upcoming “Apartment 404” will mark Minnie’s first ever fixed casting in a variety show made for television! In the past, selected episodes of the idol’s group own YouTube entertainment show “Going Seventeen”, have been aired on TV, gaining her and the rest of the members a lot of national attention, as well as praise.
“I watched the first ever Gose (short for “Going Seventeen”) episode on JTBC, back in 2021 and just couldn’t stop laughing,” PD Jung told the reporter. “I was so surprised how idols could be so effortlessly funny. All of them seemed so smart while reaching such a high level of comedy.”
When asked how the producers came to choose Minnie, Jung Chul Min explained, “It was almost by accident. We were in a meeting and just talking about other possible cast members. Of course, we all knew that we’d need relatable and funny characters that would be entertaining to watch.” After a lot of back and forth, Minnie’s name fell and the room started laughing. “Kim Minnie is a very well acclaimed name, not only within South Korea, but also internationally, so she seemed very out of reach.”
After all, SEVENTEEN have reached the achievements “fastest selling global album of the century”, “first artist to exceed 3 million copies sold in the first day of release in Hanteo’s history”, and “highest pre-orders for albums in history, with 4.6 million sales”.
“But Yoo Jae Suk convinced us to ask her.”
The comedy legend and Minnie had already met years ago during an episode of “Running Man”, where the idol singer had appeared as a guest star. They seemed to have grown closer and kept in touch even after the shoot.
“SEVENTEEN was still on tour and had just finished filming another variety show with Na PD, but she found time to meet up with us and agreed almost immediately,” PD Jung recalled. “She shared her personal schedule and we set up filming dates right away. It must’ve been so busy for her… I remember her telling us that she had just landed and came to set right from the airport. I really respect her dedication.”
Filming for the variety show started last year, already gaining a lot of Carats’ attention when a picture of the cast was posted on Social Media.
Tumblr media
Twitter, Instagram, and Naver exploded with interested fans, who couldn’t believe their eyes.
“Since when is Minnie doing variety shows?!?!”
“IS THAT MINNIE FROM SEVENTEEN???”
“Jaesuk and minnie back together after running man😭😭 omg I’m so excited for this”
“Seventeen seems to be doing more tv stuff nowadays, I’m really happy!”
“Whatever this is, you better bet I’m watching it!!!!”
“Casting her turned out to be one of the best decisions I’ve ever made,” the producer admitted. He promised that Carats and variety show fans will be very happy with her appearance.
The show will air on February 15 on tvN and will make its international debut on prime video on February 23. The teaser has already got us on our tippy toes!
hi! can I request one where reader gets jealous and a bit sad because some girl was trying to hit on jae and he notices that so he makes up for reader in the most fluff way, please? only if you want to :))
Pairing: Jaehyun x reader
Genre: fluff
Word Count: 1k
Summary: "Is she your girlfriend-girlfriend or are you just talking?" - "If I kill you, are you dead-dead or just not breathing?"
A/N: Stumbled over a TikTok audio that fitted perfectly, I hope you like it 💜
Tumblr media
“He sounds so good! I didn’t know your boyfriend could sing.”
“I overhear him in the shower sometimes,” you explained loudly, “but I had no idea either!”
You and your friend’s eyes were fixated on Jaehyun who was giving the performance of his life in the living room. The guests were either sitting or standing to listen attentively after someone had brought out a karaoke machine to spice up the party since the first ones had already prepared to leave.
Your boyfriend was singing some trendy pop song while others chanted along, raising the mood again after everyone had thought the party was dying. Watching him enjoy singing, dancing along and interacting with the audience made your chest swell with pride, and you found yourself nodding rhythmically as well even though you usually weren’t the one to verbally express your musical side. According to your friends, you sounded awful, and you left it like that.
But your boyfriend, on the other hand, was awesome. When he ended the song, people came up to him while others stormed to the karaoke machine to choose a song themselves.
“Well, I actually wanted to go home already,” you said to your friend. “But I guess we’re going to stay for a bit longer. Wanna have another drink?”
“Sure.”
You went over to the kitchen where you found fun in mixing fantasy drinks for each other before you returned to the living room.
“Uh…” Your friend looked past you with a clear view to where another group had taken over the karaoke machine. “I think Jaehyun got a bit popular.”
“Yeah.” You chuckled. “After that performance, I can understand.”
“... with the ladies,” she added. “Look there.”
You shifted to where she was pointing and found Jaehyun standing there with a girl. Usually, for you, it wasn’t a problem. He had never given you a reason to be jealous or mistrust him, but you also had to admit that your boyfriend was very naive when it came down to flirting, so the longer he stood there, the more hope he gave the girl hitting on him. You had to nip her hopes in the bud.
“I’ll be back,” you told your friend, gave her your cocktail, and walked over to Jaehyun. “You were great!”
You luckily found them laughing mid-conversation, making it less awkward for you to jump in between.
“I know, right!” the girl chirped even though she had not been addressed by you, and it irritated the heck out of you. “I just told Jaehyun - that’s his name by the way - that he should be a singer, that’s how great he was.”
Something in the way she spoke, so overly haughty like she had known him for years, overlooking Jaehyun entirely as well as though he was only a mannequin who needed a spokesperson, gave you the ick that quickly developed into a volcano that was close to erupting the moment she touched his arm in a claiming gesture. Enough was enough.
“I’m his girlfriend,” you blurted. “I know his name and that he’s a great singer. Good to see it’s getting acknowledged by other people.”
She didn’t have to know that you were concealing the truth, but being so bold also didn’t seem like you despite you still trying to stay polite while making your point clear.
“Oh?” She raised a brow and shifted to address Jaehyun. “Is she like… your girlfriend-girlfriend or are you just talking?”
You looked at your boyfriend-boyfriend, expecting him to reject her, but he seemed too stunned to speak. That man would rather eat something he was allergic to than tell the waiter that he brought in the wrong dish. Always reserved, even with his feelings for you. Yet, there were situations where he needed to take action, and one of them was now. Still, he didn’t utter a single word. Fine, then you’d do it yourself.
“If I kill you,” you spoke to the girl with a low voice and narrowed eyes, “are you dead-dead or just not breathing?”
Without sparing either of them another glance, you turned on your heel and walked back to your friend who had observed the whole situation from a few feet away, but still not having gotten the gist of the whole conversation since the music was too loud.
“What happened?” she asked when you whipped your cocktail out of her hand.
“I need this.” And you downed it one go. “My boyfriend is too nice for this world.”
“And the problem is…?”
“I want him to tell everyone I’m his,” you complained to her. “I want him to show everyone I’m his. Is this too selfish? I don’t need him to scream at people he meets that I’m his girlfriend, but when he senses that a girl shows interest, to tell that he’s taken. I don’t need him to be all over me publicly, but holding my hand when he’s close to me or slightly touching my arm when he’s standing next to me would be nice. Is that too much to ask for?”
“Oh dear.” Your friend took a long sip from her own cocktail. “Careful what you wish for.”
Only now you noticed that the music had entirely stopped, and before you had let that fact sink in, Jaehyun’s voice already filled the room.
“There is a girl here tonight who I really love. She’s my girlfriend and she’s standing right there,” Jaehyun announced into the microphone, making you slowly turn around to meet his loving gaze. The other guests were staring at you too, but you had your attention entirely on him only. “I want to make sure that despite me usually being reserved with my feelings, there is no one else I want to be with or am interested in, and I want to dedicate this song to her. It’s one I’ve written myself, and it’s about her. There is no music, so I hope you don’t mind an a capella version.”
Every kind of anger and frustration you had harbored dissipated with one heartbeat, and you locked your gazes with him, feeling nothing but love and understanding now when he started singing, capturing every listener’s imagination.
Yes, your boyfriend was oftentimes reserved with his feelings. But that didn’t change the fact that he still carried a lot of them and just had other ways to express them.
The way back to you
pairing: myung jaehyun x reader
genre: fluff, a little of angst
n/a: so here it issss!!! it turned out pretty long hshahakak. i hope u like ittt!!! 💕💕
"I'm telling you that school's about to be the end of me, and all you can think of is inviting me to a damn study group?!" Leehan groaned at his best friend's proposal "The afternoon is for resting, right Yn?"
"Yeah, but if you used it to study a bit it wouldn't be a big deal" you opined as you sipped some of your juice. "Try not to fail so many this term, come on."
"You don't understand" he complained, offended "I don't want to be your friend any more".
"As you wish" replied Taesan dryly.
"Well, better not" he rectified himself, grabbing your arm.
"Anyways, see you later, little guys" you said goodbye, ruffling both boys' hair.
"Just because you're a year older than us doesn't make you taller, you know" Leehan defended.
"Shut up, I'm five foot seven, I'm the tallest in my class" you pleaded, making a seven with your hands.
"Yeah, whatever you say" and Taesan pushed you into your class.
As you walked in, your eyes darted to your seat, which was occupied by someone else resting their head on the window. You thought about saying something to him, but let it pass. It was the first day of term and they would still have to change places.
"Yn!" you heard your name being shouted "Why the hell haven't I seen your face all holiday?" exclaimed one of your friends.
"You know my law" you announced, responding to your friend's hug "Holidays are for resting and school is for suffering"
"Well, you could have at least not left me and the rest of us stranded" and when you were about to speak, she interrupted you "And don't tell me it's for your health" then, the girl walked towards a free seat.
When the class started, the first thing the teacher did was to change the seats.
Your friend was placed next to a short-haired girl and you next to the boy who had stolen your seat.
"Hello" you greeted him "I'm Yn".
"Hi" he replied with a shy, but at the same time big, smile "I'm Myung Jaehyun" Myung Jaehyun. For several seconds, his name kept repeating over and over in your head. It was him. There he was, after so long.
For a while, his eyes only looked at you I amusement.
"No way... It's really you?" he whispered, his eyes wide as saucers "You remember me, don't you? Don't you?" he exclaimed, excited.
"Of course I remember you, Jaehyun. How could I forget you?" you said with a smile identical to his. "What are you doing here... How come...?"
"You two in the back, be quiet!" a teacher shouted at you. You both fell silent, giggling under your breath.
The class soon began. It was merely introductory: the teacher introduced himself, talked about what he was going to teach during the course, and then had you introduce yourself to the class. You were rather absent for the whole hour, exchanging glances with your deskmate from time to time, until it was time for him to introduce himself.
"Hello, my name is Myung Jaehyun. I'm new to Seoul and my hobbies are sports, especially football. I also like dogs very much." His presentation was brief, but it reminded you of some of the childhood moments you spent with him.
......
"Jae, your mom says let's go home!" you shouted to him from the side of the small football field in your village, where he played with other children. You never liked football, so you usually stayed on the side playing basketball.
"But it's still too early!" he protested, although he was walking towards you. "I'll race you to my house, whoever wins has to buy the other a lemon candy tomorrow" he bet, before running off. You didn't take long to follow him either, but Jaehyun was always faster.
"Someday I'll beat you.... Someday" you swore, panting, leaning against the door of your house.
"Pinky promise?" he asked, showing his little finger.
"Pinky promise" you assured.
......
After school was over, you rushed to the bathroom. When you came back, you found Jaehyun at the door, talking to your two friends.
"Speaking of the devil..." whispered Taesan, waving to you. You walked over to where everyone was standing.
"We were talking about going out this afternoon, have you already started the academy, Yn?" Leehan questioned.
"I'm starting today, but I'm leaving earlier. I think around six" you reported, walking into class to get your backpack.
"So... How about we meet at the football field near your academy?" suggested Leehan, in a somewhat excited tone. If one thing was clear to you from so many years of friendship, it was that the boy loved meeting new people and befriending them, so you weren't opposed to the idea, in fact, you were even looking forward to it.
"Fine by me" said Taesan, scrolling down his phone.
"If you want to..." you commented, as you didn't really care what they were going to do. What you wanted was to be with Jaehyun, to know why he was here, what had become of his life.
Suddenly, you all looked at the young boy, who seemed lost in thought.
"Aren't you going to say anything?" asked Leehan, snapping his fingers in your friend's face.
"Me? Eh... Sure! Anywhere's fine. I'm not quite settled yet, you know..." he explained, scratching the back of his neck, smiling. Oh, that smile.
"In that case, have Yn give you the address of his academy and the two of you go there together, right?" proposed Taesan, with a small sideways smile. "After all, the two of you already knew each other before."
Jaehyun and you looked at each other, small smiles escaping your mouths. "Sure" you said.
......
"If I don't try harder this year, I'm going to fail everything!" your friend complained, leaning her head on your shoulder. How come all your friends were failing?
"It's the last year, what can you do..." you comforted her, patting her head. In the distance, you saw someone look sideways, probably looking for you.
"Oh, here you are!" he exclaimed when he saw you. It was Jaehyun, who came running up to your side as you waved goodbye to your friend.
"Shall we go?" you proposed, trying to hide your excitement. He nodded his head, signalling for you to pass in front of him.
On the way you talked about everything. You found out that he was in Seoul because his father had been promoted in his job, which made you very happy, as you remembered that, when you still lived in the village, his family had a hard time making ends meet.
When you arrived at the field, you saw your friend's mouth drop open in amazement. Although it wasn't the biggest, it was much bigger than the one in your village.
"Are you telling me this is a public facility?" he asked, surprised, hesitating whether or not to enter.
"If it were private, they'd all be there?" you pointed to your two friends and your brother, who must have joined them at some point "Come on in" you offered, giving him a little push in the back.
From afar, you watched as Leehan waved his arm to greet Jaehyun. He walked over to them, who started playing on a patch of field, while you were in the bleachers, until you decided to go for a basketball. You put on your headphones and started practising your shots, as you had a tournament coming up and it wouldn't hurt to practise.
Suddenly, you noticed someone hugging you from behind. Startled, you looked back at Jaehyun, who had stolen your headphones. They were playing 'Will you kiss me' by Playful kiss.
"Do you still listen to this song" questioned the boy grabbing the ball that you had dropped from the scare. " Wanna play?" he offered.
"And the rest of them?" you nodded your head towards where they were.
"Never mind, they're resting" he clarified, passing you the ball.
......
You were humming your favourite Playful Kiss song while playing basketball, when your ball escaped and hit the light blue radio resting on the floor.
"There you are!" shouted a small Jaehyun in the distance. You turned to him, ball in hand. "Are you done playing, Jae?" confused, you asked. Suddenly, the boy grabbed you from behind to take the ball, starting to bounce it.
"Wanna play?" he offered, passing you the ball. "Whoever loses has to buy the other one a lemon candy."
Getting carried away by the competitiveness, you played against him, although he ended up winning.
"Someday I'll beat you" you vowed, taking your ball back.
"Pinky promise?
"Pinky promise" you assured, interlocking both fingers.
......
It had been several days since Jaehyun's arrival in the city and you couldn't be happier. You were together almost every day with the others. But there was something that didn't quite fit.
Every time he gave you a smile, yours came out without a thought. His unintentional touches on your hand when you walked side by side made your cheeks turn pink. When he opened a door for you or when he shared his food with you, your stomach seemed to want to escape from inside you.
And you didn't want to accept what you felt. You didn't want to ruin what had just re-formed between the two of you over a useless feeling. That's why you tried to let it go, until that day came.
It was a hot summer afternoon and the amount of clouds in the sky ensured a storm, yet your group of friends decided to go out and play on the football field for a while.
This time, Jaehyun played basketball with you all afternoon, which was not beneficial to your plan to end your apparent feelings for him.
Suddenly, you noticed a drop fall on your face. Then another, another, another... And a great storm formed under your heads.
Taesan, Leehan and Sunho took shelter under the bleachers and, as you were about to follow them, Jaehyun grabbed your arm and pulled you, making you run after him unconsciously.
Both your bodies were covered in water from head to toe, but it didn't seem to matter. Holding hands, you and your friend ran aimlessly through the city, your laughter the only thing that could be heard. Suddenly, Jaehyun stops.
"I'll race you, whoever wins has to buy the other a lemon candy," he said, as if you had suddenly gone back in time. Then he ran off. But this time something different happened. You won.
"You kept your promise, I guess I'll have to buy it this time," sighed Jaehyun, feigning annoyance.
When he gave it to you, you quickly popped it in your mouth. "It tastes like victory" you thought.
"There's one thing I've always wondered," you began, "why do you like lemon candy so much?" he smirked.
"Because they remind me of you" you looked at him confused "They produce a bitter sensation at first, but then it's so sweet, they're refreshing and, most importantly, I love them" He looked straight into your eyes, then, he and directed his gaze to your lips, then to your eyes again.
He gently placed the palm of his hand on your cheek, still wet from the rain. Slowly he brought his face closer to yours, when an unexpected gust of wind blew all your hair into your face. He let out a little chuckle, as you felt the ground fall away from you in embarrassment.
"Wait... Let me just..." He whispered as he put your hair back in place "We're good now, can I?" you just nodded, letting yourself get caught up in the moment. At that time your plan was a thousand miles away.
His lips were soft and savoured the taste of the candy you had just eaten. One of his hands was still on your cheek while the other rested loosely on your waist. Your hand went up to the nape of his neck, playing with his hair; the other was on his chest.
As soon as you parted, Jaehyun hid his head in the crook of your neck, hugging you while smelling your scent, which was more wet than anything else.
"I love you so much, you can't imagine how this years without you have been" he said, keeping his head in the same place. You started rubbing his back up and down.
"I love you too, Jae" you said that in a really soft whisper "I mean it, I don't think I can ever let you go again" you lifted his face with both your hands, his watery eyes looked at you as if he could see your soul, and in a way he did. You ran your hand through his hair, uncovering his forehead to leave one more peck there. He coughed, suddenly feeling nervous, cheeks on fire.
"Well... Don't you think the rest of them are looking for us?" he asked, scratching the back of his neck.
"Yeah,I think so, come on" you ordered, taking his hand as you laughed.
Hi Petty! Totally random question that came to me...do you have any favorite series with obvious character color coding? And by obvious I mean like...Power Ranger color coding obvious.
TLWR: I can't answer this.
@negrowhat, This isn't random because you were just reblogging Y Destiny posts, and that show was Power Rangers color coded!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So it shouldn't be surprising that Y Destiny's director is Cheewin since most of Director Cheewin's shows are extremely color coded like Middleman's Love, You'll Never Eat Alone, and Bed Friend.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And although Playboyy isn't unmistakably color coded, it still has color coding, and Cheewin won't let us forget that.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hell, look at the description of his upcoming series Deep Night which states that "[The characters] aren't the only ones bringing colour to the club" so I'm guessing it, too, will be color coded.
Tumblr media
I think Cheewin really enjoys color coding, which is why Domundi continues to hire him since Domundi wants color coding in its shows like Cutie Pie and Naughty Babe! And it's probably why Cheewin gave me one of my favorite noticeably color-coded shows, Secret Crush on You, where Phaya and Dr. Cocomelon (as you call him) were the bestest color-coded friends ever.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Everyone was color coded in that show, even the fairy godmothers.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But outside of Cheewin, I LOVED Destiny Seeker!
Tumblr media
Which is why it won a Colors Award for Best Group Effort since it played into the traditional way of color coding with the main characters, but gave the side couple an interesting color dynamic, then had the younger third couple color coordinate.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It was fascinating, and I wish it was more easily available internationally, so others could enjoy it!
Tumblr media
Japan leaned into obvious color coding with I Became a Lead in a BL Drama
Tumblr media
And I loved it!
Tumblr media
However, I also feel like another one of my favorite shows from Japan, My Love Mix-Up, was obviously color coded.
Tumblr media
While others seemed shocked by me stating that even though the promo material was color coded, which is something I found out after watching the entire series.
Tumblr media
So although I know what you're asking, it's slightly difficult for me to answer because (and this isn't me bragging), I find most color coding obvious, like in another color-coded favorite from Korea, Love Tractor, I understood it was color coded from the trailer, as I do many shows.
Tumblr media
Yet I got a few questions about it because others did NOT easily see that Yechan was a Green Guy and Yul was a Blue Boy even though I believed it was blatant color coding with no room for confusion.
Tumblr media
Much like how I picked up from the trailer of another favorite Korean series, The Eighth Sense, that Ji Hyun was light coded and Jae Won was dark coded. This shot was in the trailer with several others similar to this color scheme, yet it was just me out here seeing what I believed to be very recognizable color coding.
Tumblr media
So, to me, most color coding is Power-Rangers-level obvious. And I love seeing people slowly figure that out nine episodes in, when I had it pinned down before the first episode even began.
Tumblr media
Or in some cases, by the second episode because the first episode only showed the characters in uniforms or only had one scene with them.
Tumblr media
Which is why people are still flabbergasted that I knew Way and Charlie were lying without the subtitles even though Way, a blue teammate, looked like this in episode three of Pit Babe, and Charlie who supposed to a Blue Boy was red in the first episode.
Tumblr media
So to answer your question in the longest way possible, if a show has color coding, for the most part, it's obvious to me. I struggle sometimes figuring out what the colors mean like with The Sign and Last Twilight, but I still notice the colors, and it's funny since both shows use blue, green, and orange, which were the same colors I struggled with in Our Dating Sim since the orange threw me off (it represented uncertainty).
Tumblr media
I like writing about colors so much because what I think is Power-Rangers-level obvious is not obvious to others, and what I struggle with, some of you see clearly.
And I love when people tag me and say they noticed colors but "they were so obvious it was impossible to miss them" because it proves this point! Colors aren't obvious until we are actually paying attention to them. I'm positive someone watched Y Destiny and didn't even notice the colors. I'm just as confident people watched I Became a Lead in a BL Drama and didn't realize it was color coded.
And I hope you nor anyone else who reads this takes this is a mean-spirited dig about not noticing color coding. It's not much like my post about some folks not being able to tell the difference between Sprite and Zee in Twins. We don't notice the obvious when we aren't looking for it. You notice people's hands on others' throats. @colourme-feral notices locations. @dribs-and-drabbles notices clothing. Yet none of those things are obvious to me.
And that's why I can't really answer this question because the colors are obvious to me.
. . .
But Live in Love, if it gets made, will be Power Rangers color coded.
Tumblr media
That's obvious.
hi everybody! this is the newly updated ts file masterlist.
there are fewer ts resource links this update, not because the uploaders are dwindling, but because they’re turning into multis! this means there is more content for a variety of groups nowadays. if a link below is listed as ‘multi’, PLEASE check to see if your group is one that they upload for. there are some uploaders that are posting almost every single group on every single music show.
if you’ve requested for me to research a group and haven’t found it on the list, chances are they’re going to be under one of the ‘multi’ links, so please check. if they’re not on this list, or the archive (more below), or uploaded by a multi, i was unable to find them :( sorry!
before we get into it, please reblog this post to boost and if it’s helpful and you’re able, please consider donating to my kofi!
helpful links:
photoshop 1 / 2 vapoursynth / avisynth 4kdownloader (for downloading videos at their highest quality) potplayer (for playing ts files) photopea (like photoshop, but an online editor, ideal for gfx) savett (download tiktok videos without the username and logo) inflact (download instagram reels, photos, videos, etc) soshistagram (download vlive videos) twittervideodownloader (download twitter videos) how to download weverse videos by @blondesoobin
what is a ts file?
a ts file is an uncompressed raw recording. gifmakers prefer to use it because the quality isn’t compromised as it is in a different type of video. you do not have to use a ts file to make gifs, but it does ensure that your gifs come out at the highest possible quality they can be, especially when put through vapoursynth or avisynth (so that you can scale, crop, etc, without messing with the quality).
main ts file archives:
kpop24hrs -- this is the internet’s main ts file archive. it holds a decade of kpop live stages, variety, kdrama, etc, depending on what the uploaders are into. you can also request live collections or certain stages and whoever has it can send you links to it. unfortunately the website is members-only and they are officially an invite-only site. invites are available from other users for a price (points) however the points-system is tough to navigate because you need to reach a certain level to be able to access certain files. THIS SITE IS NEWLY CLOSED AND NO LONGER OPENS FOR MEMBERSHIPS.
the internet archive -- i just discovered this a couple of hours ago. it is an extensive archive of ts files. when selecting the file you’re looking for, navigate to the download options on the right hand side and click ‘show all’. you’ll be taken to a list of downloads of the file, usually allowing you to choose between mp4, ts, or torrent. click the one you want and it’ll start downloading!
4sashi -- i no longer recommend 4sashi, but they do have some files available (gg only) and operate on a registered-member-obly basis. ideal for newer uploads because the older ones are inaccessible. you have to contact the admin through inbox to gain access to the exclusive section.
A Defector's Story
[DISCLAIMER: Some anon requested this, and I honestly found the idea pretty interesting to explore outside of the usual sexual stuff I write on here. ALSO this is in no way portraying North Korea in a glorifying way, and the story below is purely for fantasy. I do not condone anything North Korea is doing, and I still wish for their citizens' liberation from tyranny.] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"곧 우리 중 하나가 될 것입니다..."
Tumblr media
The soldier's tone was firm, his low voice drilling itself into Hans Moretti's ears...along with a cold sharp pain in his neck. Hans had found himself deep in the hermit kingdom's countryside after he answered a call about some "strange geological phenomena". A brilliant geoscientist, he and a few of his associates flew into Pyongyang a week earlier, but Hans was assigned a solo trip to some random forest. As he was mapping the area, a group of soldiers gradually formed a small crowd, curious at the strange sight of survey tools and a man who absolutely did not belong. And Hans was annoyed. Even more so when some of the soldiers began stepping into the survey area and walking past him while making silly faces. He was fine with it, until one of them purposefully made him trip and fall to the ground. In a fit of rage (and a good dose of being absolutely terrified at being watched in a country like North-fucking-Korea), he grabbed the soldier by the collar and threw him to the ground. His comrades rushed to his aide, as two others quickly pulled Hans aside to where he was now. The jab to his neck felt immensely painful, as he felt his vision slowly darken and his knees buckle to the ground. As he stared up, he saw the sneering face of the soldier above him, spitting in his face just before he drifted off to sleep. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As he awoke many hours later, he found himself in some strange building. He found himself sleeping on some cold hard wooden bench, as he sat up and shifted his boots on the floor. W-wait, boots? Hans immediately got up as he found himself wearing some sort of uniform, very much like the one the soldiers wore. He looked at his hands trying to see if they did something to him when he noticed how much callus they had. Sure, he worked with the earth, but these felt different, as did his skin color which had now developed a sort of tan. Holding his hand out against the sunlight, he stared in disbelief as he felt his breaths become deeper. He had somehow turned into one of them.
Tumblr media
"아-아니... 므-뭐...?" Hans felt his voice tremble as he heard how different he sounded. Gone was his usually higher-pitched tone, replaced with a deeper, gruffier one. He tried speaking English to himself but all that came out were a jumbled series of syllables barely resembling a "This can't be real". "You enjoying yourself?" He heard a voice speak in English from the opposite side of the room as he tilted his head towards it. It was the soldier he pushed to the ground. He knew the sounds, but for some reason it made zero sense to him. Finally the soldier laughed as he repeated himself in Korean, to which Hans responded by shaking his head and slapping himself in the face to see if this was all some nightmare. "동무, 모든 것을 잊어버리라고 명령합니다." (Comrade, I order you to forget everything.")
As soon as the soldier spoke those words, a piercing headache erupted within Hans's head as he literally felt his brain start rewiring itself. Tears flowed down his face as he started forgetting more and more about his past life, now slowly being replaced with memories of growing up in the harsh environment. He remembered the brutal cold of winters gone by, and how he and his comrades remained so close together in the barracks to pass the time trapped indoors by the winds and pelting rain. Soon enough, he started forgetting his own name. Hans...
Han...
Hanj...
Han-jae.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Hans's colleagues were informed that his survey had been completed and had flown back earlier than expected to his home country, and they were none the wiser. Hans was kind of a loner after all. Meanwhile, Han-jae was back at the barracks, standing outside ready to greet whatever tourist was intrepid enough to visit his country.
Tumblr media
He scrutinizes every face that passes by, his head filled with nothing but the commands of his superiors and...well nothing else really.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“동무, 혀를 내밀어보세요!” (Comrade, stick your tongue out!) It was spoken in a condescending and mocking tone, yet he was compelled to follow through with it. After all, he was a good soldier, and he certainly didn't want to disappoint his superiors by insubordination.
But deep inside his mind, a piece of the old Hans remained, itching to find it's way out by any means possible. And only a few weeks later, a chance encounter would help him escape.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It was when a couple of tourists came to the barracks to take some pictures when he saw it: an iPhone. The image of the phone suddenly materialized itself in Han-jae's mind as slowly but surely, hazy memories of his past self came back.
Tumblr media
It had been so long since he thought about such things, and Han-jae simply stared in quiet contemplation. Sure, he still had zero clue who he was, but he sure as hell knew he had to leave. Hans was all but gone, but Han-jae knew he had something to do about these memories as curiosity about the outside world became overwhelming. He had to leave.
And so a day later in the dead of night, he managed to escape his barracks and made a long and dangerous trek up to the Yalu River, managing to avoid suspicion and being spotted by the patrolmen who guarded the border. After crossing it by sunrise, he secretly hopped on some train where he was greeted by a few scared English and French tourists who just had a trip to his country a few hours back. After some failed attempts at communication, Han-jae was locked in one of the roomettes by the authorities, along with the other tourists who stayed to help this defector. One of them was especially fond of Han-jae, giving him some food and water, and a small wipe for the rivers of sweat rolling down his face. After being handed a small tablet, Han-jae stared at it in pure confusion before some of the people on board with him slowly and eagerly taught him how to use it. Opening the translator, he typed out something with shaky fingers before giving it to one of the tourists with a shy smile.
Tumblr media
"반갑습니다. 고맙다."
Han-jae was free. Sighing sharply to himself, he laid his head back on the seat and chuckled silently.
"씨발...."
NEW K-DRAMA: WHERE WE FALL
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Warning: Talks of survivor's guilt, and reference to dark thoughts
[Sunshine Duo taking on Heart Wrenching Roles]
On September 29 a new Korean drama series made its way onto the big screens starring two idols from K-Pop group ATEEZ, main dancer Jeong Yunho and lead vocalist Min Himari.
When nineteen year old Aerin (Min Himari) finds herself as the sole survivor of a mysterious house fire that claimed her twin brother's (Lee Do Hyun) life due to a late practice that had kept her from going home, she can't help but to feel as though she should have died with him, as though she should have saved him. Despite countless therapists reaching out after the tragedy it seemed as though nothing or no one could pull her through this case of survivor's guilt nor help dissipate the visions of her brother appearing in her daily life all the way into insomnia inducing nightmares. Once a bright presence she begins turning to seclusion and unhealthy activities to distract herself from the overwhelming grief, much to her best friend Jae-Won's (Jeong Yunho) despair. The more he reaches out to her, the angrier Aerin begins to get with him and the further she pushes him away, her actions growing in recklessness by the day. But Jae-Won refuses to give up on her. Will he manage to save her...or will she drag him down with her when she finally falls off the deep end ?
The bandmates appeared in the magazine 'Singles Korea' in order to promote the series where they later met with an interviewer who talked with them about their experience. When asked about the difficulty of portraying a character with such a dark and complex story, Himari said "I was really nervous at first because I wasn't sure if I could convey such a complex mental health struggle so I monitored every scene very closely to make sure I had every detail down."
Much like the maknae, Yunho shared similar feelings of nervosity regarding his role by stating "Even though it wasn't my first acting project, the concept was much darker than Imitation's so I found it to be a really intimidating role. The longer filming went on though, the easier it became to sink myself into the story and my character."
(Spoiler ahead)
The pair agreed that one of the most memorable scenes was the last argument in which Aerin steps onto her apartment's balcony ledge only to be stopped by a horrified Jae-Won, leading the girl to finally break down in front of her best friend after a few moments of protest. In their opinion the key point in this part of the drama is the embrace they share, Jae-Won's hands running down Aerin's body in order to comfort her whilst she clings on to him for dear life, pulling herself as close as possible to the man who had so desperately fought to save her. "Even after the director yelled 'cut', Hima(ri) was still holding on to me and crying, that's how emotional the scene was" said Yunho. "I found this very...draining in a way because I found many similarities between our experiences so the story took me over completely. At the end I had no idea why I was crying, I just couldn't stop." Himari added.
Something that a lot of fans are most likely wondering about whilst watching the series is how everything was filmed despite their tour's grueling schedule, not to mention side activities. According to both actors this project had been in the works for quite a while now so they had filmed majority of it prior to their schedules, what little was left being filmed on days off. Himari's view on it is "Even though it was a tiring project at times I feel like it was worth every moment because it was an amazing experience. I'm also very proud of what we created and I hope the fans will enjoy it too." To this, Yunho agreed and continued with "I'm glad we got to see it through to the end and am really thankful to be given an opportunity to take on a more challenging role. I personally can't get tired of the story no matter how many times I had read and monitored it."
Finally it was noted that they also had quite the romantic tension throughout the series, one that even ended with the two of them sharing a kiss amidst their tears. The strong on screen chemistry was explained by Himari "It was slightly awkward at first to be close in such an intimate manner but I feel comfortable with him (Yunho) and we're very close in real life so we managed to work through it." They both recalled being flustered whilst reading the script and having to film this scene more than any others as they kept shying away or laughing. Yunho said "Having her on my lap was already very...strange but then when production said we had to kiss we couldn't seem to keep our composure."
Overall the hard work and emotions put into this series by its actors is sure to capture viewers' hearts to bring them into a rollercoaster of emotions. Stream 'Where We Fall' on Netflix.
Welcome to our group discussion of Lunar New Year Love Story by Gene Luen Yang and illustrated by LeUyen Pham.
Please note that this is a full spoiler discussion! You will be spoiled if you continue reading.
Valentina Tran was named after Valentine’s Day, which used to be her favorite holiday. But when Val learns the truth behind what happened with her parents and why she’s being raised by a single father, she realizes true love is a lie. This is reinforced when she meets the spirit of Saint Valentine, who tells her she and her family are cursed to always be unlucky in love. Val is ready to give into her fate, until one Lunar New Year festival, where a mysterious lion dancer hands her a paper heart, and ZING. Val becomes determined to change her destiny, prove Saint Valentine wrong, and give her heart to the right person. Meanwhile, lion dancing is the only thing that has given Jae peace after his dad passed away. It’s also what keeps him connected to his father’s side of the family. Both Jae and his cousin Leslie notice Val at the Lunar New Year festival, and for some inexplicable reason, Jae hands Val a paper heart. But it’s Leslie, with his K-Pop good looks, who starts to date Val. Jae still feels this connection with Val and feels it’s somehow tied to how he feels about losing his father. Both Val and Jae struggle with the spirits who haunt them as they are inextricably brought together in a love story that is satisfying, sweet, and moving.
Audrey: I had so much fun reading LUNAR NEW YEAR LOVE STORY. It’s been a while since I’ve had the chance to really dig into a graphic novel, and this was a great one. Gene Luen Yang’s story was compelling, and LeUyen Pham did such a great job illustrating characters’ expressions and conveying movement. I really loved how the lion dances were illustrated. What did you think?
K. Imani: I agree Audrey, I had so much fun reading this novel as well. There were so many moments where I had a huge grin on my face and moments where I laughed out loud. The storytelling was so on point with a number of twists that I did not see coming. I love when a story keeps me on my toes. I had an ARC so the paper quality of my book was not that great, but the art was still beautiful so I can only imagine what the final product looked like.
Jessica: I’m a huge fan of Gene Luen Yang’s graphic novels so I knew I would be in for a treat! And I was not wrong. I’d just attended the Lunar New Year parade in Chinatown the prior weekend to reading this, so it felt very fitting to read this. I just adore stories about lion dancing – Audrey, I also loved how the lion dances were illustrated.
Crystal: I really loved the whole experience. The lion dancing was super interesting. It was great to see them, but also to learn about the how and why of the dancing. The artwork was gorgeous and like you said Audrey, LeUyen Pham was able to show so much movement. The color palette was beautiful and rich and followed the feng shui color wheel that is connected to the elements of nature. You can read more about Pham’s illustrations and her very deliberate choices with the colors in this BookPage interview.
Audrey: Let’s start with Valentina! What did you like about her? I have a soft spot for characters who get disillusioned about something but then forge onward anyway. I appreciated her determination to break her family’s romantic love curse, but I also really liked her journeys with familial love and friendship, too.
Jessica: She was a really interesting character! I didn’t expect to get a window into her childhood first thing, and the change from her childhood to when she is a teen in the present day was fascinating and really served to give us a full picture of who she is — it made me feel for her, too! Yet, at the same time, the way she throws herself into whatever she does – whether that’s making valentines or learning lion dancing – makes you really want to root for her.
K. Imani: I found Valentina so compelling. She had such a caring heart at the beginning of the book and to have it broken in such a way made me really feel for her. I really enjoyed traveling with her on her journey as she learned the difference between fantasy love and what real love is. Like Jessica said Ioved that she was so open to trying new things and when she put her mind to something, she went all in.
Crystal: I too appreciated seeing her relationships over time. It was good to see some of her childhood and to see her keep moving forward even when things were difficult. She picked herself up many times and kept on going. She was scared, but did the hard things.
Audrey: We can’t forget about Jae! He and Val didn’t have a great start, so I appreciated the slow burn of their friendship and eventual romance. He was quieter compared to Val, but he clearly was observant and thoughtful, and I appreciated how the two of them complemented each other.
Jessica: Jae! I love Jae so much. I love how much they complemented each other, and how Jae had his own struggles and his own story running parallel to Val. When they performed the lion dance together at the end – I loved that scene. And I cannot say enough about how fabulous the lion dancing illustrations in particular were. I went around showing it to people like, “hey, you should really read this – LOOK AT THESE ILLUSTRATIONS.” Another of my favorite scenes was when Jae’s uncle showed them Korean lion dancing and talked about eum and yang, and how the lion is 100% yang. That was so much fun. It makes me curious about the different kinds of lion dancing in the world beyond the style I’m familiar with.
K. Imani: Yes, we cannot forget about Jae. He was such a perfect balance for Valentina because he was the quiet to her loud.  I liked that he was surrounded by so much love so he was able to recognize that Val wouldn’t be ready for a real relationship and that she had to find her own way. I loved that they both had the same reasons, somewhat, for doing the lion dance and when they danced together it was a powerful experience. I loved those scenes and the happiness that came across through the illustrations just brought a smile to my face.
Crystal: I really adored Jae. He paid close attention to others and really tried to be respectful in his choices. Like Jessica, I totally loved the lion dance with Jae and Val at the end. It visually reminded us how much they complemented each other.
Audrey: Family and grief/loss were huge parts of this book as both Val and Jae were dealing with the loss of a parent and complications in their relationships with other family members and friends. What was most memorable for you? I really loved Val’s grandmother—she was great as a comedic character, but she also had some great moments with Val that showcased her depth and her love for her family.
Jessica: I found the different ways people processed loss so compelling – how Val coped versus how Val’s father went into full denial mode and lied to Val about her mother versus Val’s grandmother. Val’s grandmother bursting into their lives was a breath of fresh air. And both Jae and Val finding solace in lion dancing, something that brings good luck and joy to others, was such a powerful image. It makes me really appreciate the local organizations in my community that keep these traditions alive and provide this outlet for teens in my area.
K. Imani: What stood out to me with the theme of love & grief were tied together in the novel. I like how Val had to learn to love her father again after her hurt, how she was beginning to love her mother in a new way, and the relationship with her grandmother. On the other hand what motivated Jae to dance was his love for his father. This subtle theme was a lovely contrast to Val’s search for true love as it made her realize the difference between a fantasy type of love and what real, true, actual love is.
Crystal: With their losses, what stands out to me is how avoiding things compounds the problems. The lies and the silence only makes the grief and pain stretch out. As Jae’s uncle encouraged, being straightforward and direct can bring healing in a relationship.
Audrey: To wrap up, what YA graphic novels, romances, or contemporary fantasies are on your radar this year? I think The Marble Queen by Anna Kopp and illustrated by Gabrielle Kari looks fun! It just came out last week, and I’m a sucker for arranged/political marriages, and this one is set in a fantasy world with a sapphic main couple. Four Eids and a Funeral by Faridah Àbíké-Íyímídé and Adiba Jaigirdar also sounds delightful.
Jessica: I’m really, really excited for Bunt! by Ngozi Ukazu and Mad Rupert (which Crystal has reviewed here). I’m a huge fan of the webcomic OMG, Check Please by Ngozi Ukazu, so of course I’m on board for Bunt! as well. And since we’re on the topic of lion dancing in this discussion, I’m going to shout out these two short stories (read them here and here) about lion dancing by Zen Cho, which I adore.
Crystal: I really enjoyed A Magic Steeped in Poison and its sequel by Judy I. Lin, so I’m excited to get my hands on her romantic fantasy Song of the Six Realms. I’m also looking forward to the contemporary romance True Love and Other Impossible Odds by Christine Li. The supernatural romance Hearts of Fire and Snow by David Bowles and Guadalupe Garcia McCall is also on my list. As for graphic novels, I’m eager to read The Worst Ronin by Maggie Tokuda-Hall. So many books!
K. Imani: There are a number of fantasy trilogies that I’m looking forward to reading when I finally have some free time. All the Twisted Glory, the 3rd book  in the This Woven Kingdom series by Tahereh Mafi,and The Merciless Ones, the last of the Gilded Ones series by Namina Forna, is on my TBR list so far.
Lightskin Jaehyun
A/N: Per usual my reader is preferably black!!
A/N #2: Enjoy the shenanigans!
To say y’all relationship was complicated was an understatement
Both of y’all were idols and fans would be heartbroken if they ever found out either was taken
Sneaking around never got easier as you were hiding it from not only the public but your members as well
You’re dating Jaehyun from NCT (or as one of the younger members in your group aka the bane of your existence called him “Light skin Jaehyun”)
Light skin Jae-... Jaehyun was one of the most popular members of one of the world’s biggest groups right now so you already know he had his ways on how to sneak around and get away with stuff
You two had been messing around since before your debut and only made it official about six months ago.
Sneaking around had always been a big risk so y’all were extra careful
Always paid in cash (fans be crazy so if it was just the two of you, he paid in cash)
Always wearing a mask and a hat Making sure to always go out at night (sometimes at odd hours of the morning)
Never walking too close to each other Never buying matching shit unless it was jewelry Everything was perfect… until it wasn’t Cue murder documentary music
Seeing how your group had won Rookie of the Year, you already know Jaehyun wanted to take you out and celebrate.
Per usual, you wore a mask and a hat to hide your identity and checked into the hotel he had booked so you two could also spend the night together
I swear the night was going great when y’all met up in the room
Nobody caught the two of you checking in, leaving for dinner, coming back, then checking out the next morning
It wasn’t until an anonymous person posted photos of you two walking the street
That shit looked harmless and you couldn’t even tell that was y’all… until a video gets released next and it shows you two in an alleyway kissing and your hat fell off
Oh your members flamed the fuck outta you when you got home, then had you Facetime Jaehyun so they could flame him too
The oldest of your group politely gave you tips on how to secure your hat better so this wouldn’t happen again
The youngest in your group was so sleepy when you got home, she could only get one joke out before she dozed off on the couch
And the one that never seemed to sleep, but always be sleepy was ready to flame you and him
In the end, some nctzens were apprehensive about y’all but ended up loving you when they realized your group is just as unhinged as Jaehyun and the rest of NCT
NCT Future OT8 x Male Reader Platonic
Prologue
"Hyung, why are there 20 songs in our tracklist?" Garin whined, giving his leader puppy eyes. "We can't possibly do this."
"Of course we can." Y/N assured him, but a glimmer of doubt shone in his eyes. Reluctantly, the group pelled their tired bodies away from the floor and Y/N started the music for Dreamy Nights.
The boys were preparing for a comeback, Starstruck, but the thing was, in addition to 10 tracks, the company decided to give them 2 OST's, and 8 multi-mrmber songs.
Exhaustion was clear ont heir faces, especially Haewon and Y/N. The two eldest had been working day and night to get everything done in time for 21st April.
"Won, you should get some sleep, I can finish up." Y/N said, seeing Haewon slumped in the chair as he looked over the tracks. Haewon didn't complain, dragging his feet out of the room.
Y/N sighed and looked over at the clock. 3am. He's have to finish up later.
Incoming call from Park Jimin.
"Hello?"
"Y/N, hospital, now." Jimin said tersely. "Junyong got attacked by sasaengs."
"Wha- how come you're there?" Y/N asked dhis eldest brother. "You're BTS, not NCT."
"Well, I found him being attacked." Jimin said. "Just get here now, bring Jae and Sung with you."
Y/N grabbed his bag and raced over to the Dream dorm, frantically stuffing the extra key into the lock.
He knocked on Jisung and Jaemin's door. Jisung came out, half asleep, but woke up fully when he saw his twins panicked expression.
"What's going on?"
"Junyong's in the hospital."
Together, the twins went to the 127 dorm, and ended up taking Taeyong with them too.
____________________
"Hyung!" Jimin looked up and smiled slightly as his siblings raced up to him, Taeyong with them.
"Hyung, is Junyong okay?" Y/N asked.
"He's fine now." Jimin said. "He was a bit shaken earlier and he sprained his wrist."
"No." Y/N mumbled, beginning to panic. "No, no, not now."
"Shh, Y/N, calm down." Jaehyun said. "It's going to be fine."
"No, it's not." Y/N snapped. "The comeback is in two weeks and we still have one music video to record!"
"We can delay the comeback." Taeyong said. "Sprains can heal pretty quickly and Junyong wasn't seriously hurt."
"Do you want to make any changes to the house?" Yoongi inquires, opening the car door for you.
The whole ride over to the event, he's been incredibly considerate and incredibly sweet.
In some strange way it feels as if you're already married or something.
Although in a way, you guess you are.
"I haven't really thought about it," you breathe, stepping out of the car.
Yoongi wraps his arm around your shoulders, kissing your temple sweetly. "Well if you want to make it more domestic or more your own then you're more than welcome to do so. Just know that everything we do, we pay in cash. So you tell me what you want and I'll get it done for you." he promises.
You're blown away by how much he's changed daily. But it only makes your thoughts and assumptions ring true. All of your ideas that Yoongi was just jaded and child-like because he grew up that way continues to ring true.
Now with the opportunity to grow and lean on someone else -- he's blossoming.
He's becoming the man he always could have been if Sedra hadn't stunted his growth as a person.
"Maybe we can make a garden or something, that'd be wonderful," you suggest.
"You like to garden?" he asks, opening the door for you.
"Never tried it before but it always seemed fun."
"Then we'll get you a garden," he quips, unbuttoning his suit jacket.
The loud jazz music begins to bleed through the event space and you're almost consumed by it in a mere instant.
When heads turn to you, they stare and you're ready to make yourself smaller, ready to get insecure before you remember that large tiger on your chest.
Yoongi taps the underside of your chin, silently reminding you to stay strong and stay above it all.
"They're staring," you hiss through your teeth, bowing to people when they bow first.
"Let them." Yoongi simply replies, kissing your cheek.
He grabs two glasses of champagne, handing you one as people begin to flock over to you.
You haven't ever even met most of these people. You've only ever seen them in passing or in the book you rigorously studied to know who were in the mob families.
"Well," you hear someone exclaim, shoving through the groups of people that surround you. "It seems as if Min Yoongi has found himself a keeper."
The voice belongs to none other than Olive.
She gives you a kiss on either cheek, brandishing a wicked smile.
"Hello Olive," Yoongi drolls, running his thumb over your side soothingly.
"Soraya, come say hi to Yoongi's wife," Olive breathes, staring at your tattoo.
You're sure that she's trying to find a flaw and you're so completely confident in her not being able to find one that you turn your attention to the woman on her right.
She's simply gorgeous with long brunette hair that ends just above her tailbone. She's in a pretty black gown with diamonds scattered on every inch of skin you can see.
"Hi, nice to meet you," she chirps, giving you a kind smile.
Her voice is sweet, not the tiniest bit of sarcasm or wit to be found.
"Soraya, how are you?" your boyfriend smiles, leaning in to kiss her cheek.
You're suddenly reminded of how close Yug used to be with the family and you're not surprised that Yoongi is fond of this seemingly soft woman.
"I'm very happy for you," she squeals to the scarred man and he chuckles in reply.
"Thank you very much. Y/N is amazing."
"Yes, yes. Very well done Yoongi. But I can't help but think… what would Sedra say?" Olive muses, looking down at her nails.
Yoongi clamps a cigar between his teeth, raising an eyebrow at how bold the woman has become in an instant.
You strike a match for him, putting it to his cigar and he winks at you with amusement alight in his mocha irises.
"I think she would be so unamused that she'd have to rely on Jae for all of his drearily witty comments."
Olive's snide smirk falters and she seems displeased by how unaffected the drug lord is by her words.
"Well she couldn't be here tonight because she's giving birth. Any thoughts on that?" the heiress grinds out, looking at the both of you.
Yoongi puffs on his cigar, letting the smoke lazily drift past his lips engulfing her in a shroud of smoke.
"I think that's wonderful. I hope her and Jae have a very healthy baby and I can only hope that Y/N has a healthy baby in the future when we start trying. Now, if you'll excuse us, I promised my old lady some gambling." the scarred man quips, pressing his hand to your lower back and ushering you away from them.
"It was nice to meet you, Soraya! I hope to talk again soon!" you beam, wrapping your arms around Yoongis.
"Me too! So nice to mee-"
"Oh shut up, Soraya!" Olive snaps, stamping her foot.
The evening seems to flow by quickly.
You never thought you'd ever be so invested in gambling games but it's turning out to be very interesting as the night continues.
No matter which table you end up at, whether it's blackjack or Chinese poker -- Yoongi excels at it.
He's the luckiest son of a bitch within these fanciful estate walls.
You've been finding the chocolate fountain and the multitude of pastries being served by waiters to be one of the more incredible parts of the evening.
Even after small verines of wonderfully paired raspberry jellies and chocolate ganaches, it's simmered down to small macarons that accompany the dessert wines quite well.
Yoongi has attended to you so thoroughly throughout the night it's hard to believe that he ever closed off and distant. He showers you with attention, with love, everything grandiose in feeling.
You've sat on his lap throughout the night, accepting narrowed looks from women with smaller tattoos with no gold outline and even smaller diamonds scattered across their declate.
It's funny to think of how absolutely against this you were. You swore from the very beginning that you'd never be comfortable enough with him to end up perching on his lap at any event. And yet, now it's the only place you'd want to be seated.
When the drug lord touches you, he makes his actions very public. He's showing everyone in the room just exactly how important you are to him and to his family. He's showing them who to never mess with or it will be a bloody messy end for all of them.
"Sorry," Yoongi breathes, putting his cards face up on the table.
"No! Min, I'm sick of this! You've won every hand for the past forty minutes!" Yoo Han shouts, tossing his cards onto the table.
Yoo Han, one of the only men in the angel dust business, has been losing his money to your boyfriend for pretty much a good, solid hour.
And he's getting sick of it.
Clearly.
"I'm sorry, Han. That's just how to cookie crumbles. Maybe my old lady is bringing me more luck than I thought she would," Yoongi chirps, angling your face down for a kiss.
You smile into the kiss before hearing your name from behind.
Turning your head, you spot him.
Amidst all the men from your family and his, you can only stare at him.
Yoongi sighs loudly at the sound of his voice, his hand grips your hip and he looks up at you with weary eyes.
"I'll just be a minute. I promise." you whisper, combing your fingers through his black hair.
"I don't like it," he hisses in your ear.
"I have a great big tattoo reminding him who I'm with," you reply, kissing his scar.
He lets go of your hip, nodding his head begrudgingly.
When you stand and turn to Hyunwoo, he stops in his tracks. His eyes narrow at your new tattoo and his jaw becomes taut at the sight.
"You know, I'm thinking that your old lady slid you those cards!"
"Hi," you breathe, approaching him with a small smile.
"H-Hey," your former customer murmurs.
"Don't be so ridiculous, where would she be hiding them!?" you hear Yoongi guffaw.
"Maybe up that little tiger cunt."
"Don't you dare talk about my old lady that way! Who the fuck do you think you're talking to right now?!"
"So you guys are official now," Hyunwoo gawks, drifting his hand over your collarbone.
"Yeah...Yeah we are. Yoongi put everything on the line and so did I," you tell him.
You can tell that he's disappointed, maybe even upset but he tries to mask it with a smile.
"Well… that's good… Is he treating you properly? He was a real asshole last time I saw him." your former date inquires, folding his arms.
"Seems to me like you think you're the king of the castle now that you got hitched! Maybe someone's gotta put you and your little tiger bitch in place!"
"You're walking a fine line here, pal. The next sentence that comes out of your mouth about my woman… I'll rip your jaw off and shove it so far up your ass that your stomach is gonna be doin' the talking for you!"
"He's treating me very well. He's grown in a lot of ways," you promise, smiling to yourself when you think of all the sweet things that your boyfriend has done for you so far.
"Well good I'm glad that you're hap-"
"We're leaving," your boyfriend hisses in your ear, putting his hand on your back.
You look up at him with knit eyebrows and when you open your mouth, the sound of a gunshot echoes through the ballroom.
The screams of terror that emit seem to fade in and out of your ears like some kind of transcendent music.
You find yourself falling weightlessly against your boyfriend and his eyes are wide with fright.
There's more gunfire and screaming that seems to lull you to and from reality.
"Oh baby!" Yoongi screams, falling to his knees with you in his arms.
You don't even register that you've been hurt until you lift your heavy head.
Your gold dress is slowly seeping with red blood and all at once your body screams from the pain.
Yoongi's eyes well with tears and he's screaming so loudly for your brother that your heart stammers. He tears off his suit jacket, pressing it hard to your chest.
"Oh, my baby doll! Oh my fucking God!" he shouts, drifting his blood covered hand over his face.
Time seems to become sluggish at this moment, your vision is starting to double and you can hear your heart pounding in your ears.
"Yoongi," you whisper, raising a hand to his face.
"You're gonna be okay, baby doll. I promise. I fucking promise," he wails loudly, coddling you to his body.
"NOONA!" Jeongguk bellows, falling to his knees beside you.
When you cough, the small dots of blood that fleck your brother's face has him silenced in an instant. Guk begins to shake, eyes glossing over with tears and he presses down on top of Yoongi's hand over your ribs.
Yoongi flags over the medic in attendance, watching as people flee the ballroom in a stampede.
Hyunwoo shuts his eyes, turning away from the scene entirely with the shake of his head.
Yoongi tears your dress away from your chest at the request of the medic and all of the family avert their gaze out of politeness.
"Y-Yoongi," you cry, finally feeling the pain soar through your veins.
"Shhh, I'm right here baby. I'm right here. You're okay. I promise… I fucking promise," he whimpers, pressing his forehead to your temple.
Between gasping for air that seems to be coming in short supply and coughing and sputtering on blood, you're losing reality.
"Baby! You gotta stay with me, sweetheart! Look at me! Baby doll, look at me!" Yoongi begs, tilting your face up to his.
"Her lung is collapsing, I have to-"
Then the world snuck away from you.
Tumblr media
Waking up, your throat is so sore and dry that it feels like paper mache that can crack at any second.
It's difficult to feel anything besides the pain that radiates through your chest. It feels as if someone has stuck their hand into a vat of lava and then punched a hole through your lung.
Your eyelids are heavy, almost to the point that they feel like they'll never open again.
But something triumphs all of this in a second.
There's a rhythmic squeezing to your hand, one that feels like a heartbeat and you immediately know it's your man.
You force your eyelids open, squinting at the bright light of the room.
You take in the room for a second, recognizing the movie posters and the model cars on display.
You squeeze his hand back when your voice fails to leave you.
Yoongi, who's been so desperately waiting by your side, springs his head up at your touch.
"Baby doll," he sobs, falling out of the chair beside the bed to his knees.
His face has bruises and cuts and his moustache and beard have grown to an unruly length.
"W-Wate-"
"Shhh, I got you." he says quickly, grabbing the glass pitcher from the bedside table.
You whimper at the pain, letting your eyes flutter shut.
"I'm so sorry, sweetheart. I know it must hurt so badly. I wish I could take this pain away." your boyfriend hisses, lifting your head to help you sip the water.
You have so many questions but it's difficult to string words together.
"The doctor has kept you sedated for two weeks so you wouldn't hurt yourself. You're going to make a full recovery. The bull-The bullet went through your lung but you're going to be fine."
He sounds so dull, so lost like he's been through hell these past two weeks and all you want to do is coddle him to you but your limbs are sore and tired.
"I'm so sorry, baby. I love you so much. Forgive me, please." Yoongi begs, drifting his lips over the back of your hand.
"I love you too."
It's the first sentence you're able to utter and you find it apt for your life at the moment.
Yoongi has done a lot of thinking these past two weeks. He drank more than he ever has even when he was a depressed teen. Just to see you fall… to see you crumble into his arms has scarred him deeper than the cut on his face.
He barely ate.
He barely slept.
He didn't want to shower or do anything that would take him away from your side.
When you were finally stable enough to get into surgery, the waiting, it practically killed him.
He wasn't sure what he would do if you didn't make it.
He didn't know if he could exist anymore without you by his side.
When Jeongguk made him leave your side, he would sit in his office and stare at the golden box with the bullet that brandishes his name.
Yoongi fought through so many thoughts, depressing and enlightening alike.
The drug lord chastised himself for letting you in, he beat himself up over letting you get the tattoo. His heart was so full of love for you that he didn't think twice about you getting it. But while he waited for the surgery to be complete -- he hated himself for putting you in such danger.
When the surgery was finally over after hours and hours of excruciating waiting… he pulled himself together. There was no reason to berate himself for what has already happened -- it wouldn't change anything.
You wouldn't be burning off your tattoo anytime soon. So, he decided to make himself stronger.
It isn't easy, not by any means. With every day you've been sedated, finding hope seemed fewer and far between.
Last week, when your body started to break down due to shock -- so did Yoongi.
He contemplated a life without you, he tried his hardest to forget the smiles you've given him and tried to murder the hope for happiness blossoming in his heart.
He told your brother that there was no point in waiting for you to wake up and your brother beat him back to life. The cuts and bruises on his face are proof of that.
"You need to wake up! She's going to be fine! She's not fucking dying! You put that tattoo on her chest, you swore to protect her and you keep up your fucking end! I don't care if you're my boss! Talk about Y/N like she's already gone again and you'll wish that you were!"
Your brother was right, of course. Yoongi recognized this as his blood stained the grass under his laid out body.
You're not going anywhere.
Neither is he.
"What ha-happened?" you croak, looking down at your bandaged ribs.
To remember such a thing makes your boyfriend shiver. He squeezes your hand tight, drawing it to his cheek.
"Yoo Han was very upset that he was losing and I turned my back for two seconds and he shot you… He is no longer alive to make those dumb decisions again, nor is any of his family."
You swallow thickly, drifting your fingers over the neat, clean gauze pad.
"I-It's hard to breathe," you wheeze, looking up at the drug lord.
"I know, baby… but your lung is recovering very fast. You're going to feel brand new in just a few days," Yoongi promises.
You reach up, touching his unkempt beard and a small smirk etches onto your face.
He presses his hand to yours, keeping it close to his face. "I was so frightened I lost you, Y/N. I can't lose you… I'm nothing without you."
"Well… that's not true," you breathe, watching his eyes flutter shut.
"Yes it is. It's completely true. While you've been asleep all these days… I've felt so empty… So lost. I-I… I just love you so much," he avows, guiding your hand from his face to his heart.
"I'm here. I'm right here," you promise.
"You're my whole world. You've spun my life like a top and I lost my grip on reality without you," he gasps, bending down to kiss your lips softly.
He cringes when he presses his forehead to yours and you stare at the bruises that are turning yellow with the indication that they're healing.
"Who beat you up?" you murmur, drifting your thumb over his swollen cheek.
"Your brother," he quips with a small smile.
"Did you deserve it?" you chirp, grabbing the water with slow movements.
"Oh, yes. Yes, I did." he hisses, burying his face in your neck.
"Well just don't do it again." you chuckle, coursing your fingers through his hair at the nape of his neck.
"Never," he assures you.
There will never be a time where he thinks so negatively again.
He's your love, your protector, your man and he'll do everything and anything to keep you safe. The love that he has for you is infinite and everything below that is meaningless.
Absolutely meaningless.
Just finished Crash Course in Romance and my god that show was something. It was genuinely one of the best pieces of media I have ever seen. One of the best things about it was that all of the characters acted SENSIBLY. Shocking, I know. As the viewers we may know that its not the best choice to make, but with the information and position the characters are operating in, they almost always make completely rational decisions. Obviously there have to be some exceptions to this, but we can't have everything.
The show hit really hard as it explored the stress and pressure academics puts on students, and how different students respond differently to it. Su-a's spiral was an all too familiar reflection of the gifted child burnout, how the top of the class students begin to struggle. Another massive thing the show brought up was how parents push their own wishes onto their kids. In the entire show, Nam Haeng-son was perhaps the only mother that wasn't pushing her own dreams onto her kid. Furthermore, Seon-jae's arc hit so close to home for me. He was the 'good kid', the one that did what his mom told him to without complaint, yet he had to grow independent from her in order to be happy, and have control over his own life.
Chiyeol and Seo Jin's arc did a really good job of showing that even with a successful career and money, you may not be happy. Chiyeol appeared to have everything, but he was tearing himself apart till he found Haeng seon. Seo Jin seemed to have a great career, husband and sons, but she too was miserable on the inside. She was consumed by the drive to get her sons good careers so they could be happy, not realizing that the rat race to a "good university, career, familiy" was plunging her entire family into misery.
One of the best things that the show did, was that no one character was 'evil', nor flawless. Even with the main antagonist, Mr. Ji, the viewer is left feeling sorry for him, rather than angry at him. Hae-e's mother does the right thing in the end too, and leaves Hae-e where she'll be truly happy. Geon-hu had the full potential to become a rival to Seon-jae, but he instead becomes an essential part of the group, and actually supports him in finally confessing to Hae-e.
I have so, so many thoughts about this masterpiece of a show, but thats about all I can scramble out right now
LOST ON YOU
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Warnings & Genre- slight angst, minor character death.
Authors note- hey, just something that was rotting in my notes. I am in no means a writer but constructive criticism are welcomed ☝🏼
——-
Funeral homes are never anyone's favorite. definitely not when its one of your own people. a person you had once held so close to heart, maybe not during that moment but you did soon realize the impact of thier presence in your life.
Mr.Jeong was a constant in every students life in Hanseong high school. you would see him by the gate,the corridors, the ground ,the man was omnipresent. students never got how he did it. even with his tough exterior he was one of the most loved teachers. the lack of space in the funeral home would say otherwise.
heesung watch's the crowd die down slowly from the corner of the hall. his eyes shift from the portrait of Mr.Jeong displayed on the wall to the three boys sitting across him. niki doesn't seem to have taken the news too well, his head hanging low with equally exhausted boys on the either side of him. sunoo’s swollen eyes and now puffed face give away the tears hes been trying to hold. jungwon just looks deep in his thoughts but heesung knows thats far from it.
heesung doesn't really know how to deal with their pain, let alone his own. his gaze shifts back to the portrait in front but his attention is taken away from the three boys now sitting in front of it. sunghoon catches heesung staring, returning it with the same intense glare.
---
Flashback
“jeong nim!”
the professor walks to the notorious dozen of students with a slight smile. it was always hard to bid farewell to the students every year especially the set of students who frequently visited detention or seen knee bent outside in the halls with their arms up bickering with one another. Though he thinks this batch would forever have a piece of him. While they bicker over who would be taking the picture first with their favorite teacher, few of them do not let the pooling eyes of their teacher go unnoticed.
“okay, lets stop and take a group picture now” , mr.jeong says blinking away his watery eyes. the eight kids scramble up smiling wide with the teacher in the middle of the frame.
click.
‘seonsengnim i need a single one!’, niki shoves the others away whilst pulling his teacher to another background. “your not even graduating until the next two years, you punk!”
click.
“jae-in ah!”, Mr jeong calls out motioning her to come take a picture with him with a stiff smile
her focus shifts from the subjects on her camera, peeking with a small ,“ aren't you getting too sentimental today seonsegnim?”, earning sinkers from the boys. she hands the camera over to sunghoon, making her way to Mr.Jeong.
click.
“dont forget to send those to me.”
who knew jae-in had plans of getting away with those pictures.
---
Jungwon’s the one who breaks this unsaid game of pride and encourages the eldest to just be civil for the sake of it. thats how the seven boys find themselves in a table drowning themselves in soju. the rooms almost empty, except for the seven boys and few other relatives. the boys looked up at each other once a while but mostly found the soju glass interesting enough to pour their thoughts into. With the past preoccupied on their mind, it was sort of a bittersweet moment.
—-
Flashback
the sound of crashing waves with occasional yells from the boys and the sweet melody of guitar strings fill the space, jae-in sits between sunghoon and jay watching rest of the boys play in the sea. she likes the feel of sand slipping away from her fists, unintentionally repeating the act while watching the boys. Sunghoon sits on her left drawing shapes on the sand as jay plays his guitar on her right.
“dinner is on me.” jae-in says in a monotonous tone. “your part-time jobs must be treating you well finally”, Sunghoon snickers while dusting off his hands and stands up to stretch.”im gonna take a dip, you both should join”, he knows very well you wont while his other friend may eventually. The pair watch him jog his way to the boys.
“is something up?”, Jae-in doesn't show how much that question affects her, answering him back with a question again, “what would be?”.
Jay has stopped playing the guitar, his one arm thrown over the instruments body while his other still hold the chords. Jae-in thinks about how fitting he looks with this instrument, maybe them joking about him becoming someone famous or getting into a band dint seem too far off.
Jay’s mind is preoccupied with what he had witnessed last night, the goons you were pouring drinks for seemed to be too familiar with your name for his liking. He never doubted you on your self defense skills, just maybe sometimes you should know to lean on someone, mentally. But when he looks at you at this moment, chocolate hair flowing with the wind, an oversized jacket which most definitely is from one of the boys and your bored eyes looking at him, He stutters.
“ju-just because”. He doesn't have it in him to question you further.
He should have.
He should have asked when you offered to take a dip in the sea.
They should have asked when you started recording every moment of the day.
They should have asked when you raised a toast on the dinner table.
They should have asked when you smiled a bit too wide.
They should have asked before you left.
They would have. you were just too convincing.
They were all in a room, together yet so far apart on their train of thoughts.
The ticking of the clock passed by seconds to minutes to an hour or two, the empty room now consisting of only the boys. The tube lights flicker while the janitor mops the floors for the last time after a long day. It was a que for the boys to leave.
The clicking of boot soles grab the attention of the seven boys. Black sunglasses, black hanbok covers the new identity. Jae-in did not expect anyone to be here, let alone the seven boys she has never seen for the past few years. Or just maybe she was willing to try her luck.
Shes thanks the gods shes worn these ridiculously large glasses,though shes sure it wont take long for one of them to know.
Its almost plausible how the boys don’t recognize her immediately. to say the boys were shocked was an understatement. if the air was solemn and sad all this while, now the room felt as if it were was lacking of air circulation.
she acts plain, just another person to bid her goodbyes to. but Mr.Jeong wasnt just any person to her. Midst all the silent chaos in the room she makes her way towards her only family.
Mr.Jeong‘s portrait smiling at her doesnt help the guilt shes been bottling up. for all the things he had done for her in high school to even the last moments of his death. your uncle told you he would never resent you though you did not know if you had the ability not to resent yourself.
After what seems like an eternity of time and memories flashing back, Jae-in knows what she has to face as she turns towards the exit.
“i really dont know if we should be happy your alive or rip your hair off right now.”, niki’s coarse voice echo's off the hall.
