Cackling cause I’m rewatching jjk and I’m at the part where Yuuji is fighting the plant curse dude(literally horrible with names so I’ve forgotten their name already) and todo asks “are you clear headed now?” And Yuuji replies “yea no more stray thoughts” but I have auditory processing issues (comes with adhd) and for a split second there Istg I thought he said “yea no more straight thoughts” I choked.

There’s something about the last scenes. Don’t mind my sniffling in the background. I was trying hard not to bawl. But if it were a piece of live action cinema, this would be an epic shot. After Kugisaki fell down, the camera pans out, the movement felt like as if we were riding on the train away from that “station,” saying goodbye to Yuji and Kugisaki, away from the carnage.

This camera trick is called “crane shot,” from Empire Magazine’s article, “Film Studies 101: The 30 Camera Shots Every Film Fan Needs To Know.”

A shot where the camera is placed on a crane or jib and moved up or down. Think a vertical tracking shot. Beloved by directors of musicals. Often used to highlight a character's loneliness or at the end of a movie, the camera moving away as if saying goodbye.

Amazing scenes. No background music, just this noise of a moving train. This ambient noise. And then Yuji silently uttering Kugisaki’s name at the end.

I read the the manga a year ago but nothing could prepare me how the anime adaptation would punch me in the gut. The reminiscences of Kugisaki, her friend Fumi’s recollection of the Kugisaki she knew, the showdown with Mahito, who might be the most hated character right now, and once again, witnessing Yuji’s pain, who kept seeing his friends and mentors disappeared, defeated, destroyed. How much more can Yuji take in?

Good thing he is going to fight back. Maybe not in the coming episodes (I don’t know how far will they go for season 2), but in the upcoming chapters.

Man, I am just so tried of JJK and Gege's plays.

I had a week to come around to understanding the reason why Nanami got killed off. I know, Gege didn't mean to, blah, blah, blah. Either way, I do see some use for this death - personal attack against Yuuji, remainder of how much we should hate Mahito (Junpei was already an example but okay, let's assume we needed something fresh to hit us) and... Okay. Let's say his death achieved something in the narrative, even though I really wish this could be done just... Differently. Without butchering the potential to pieces.

But okay. Nanami was one thing. But Nobara? Nobara, who has only just begun having her moment? Who has only started to shine at the end of season 1? Who had every logical chance to kick Mahito's ass and who still had so much to do and the sheer fucking potential...

And for what? How long can we lie that those deeds make us hate Mahito more, that they are reasonable choices to make when writing this story?

I feel like the only way Shibuya could have worked is if we pushed it back in the narrative. Without some out-of-nowhere 15-fingers Sukuna, without killing of BOTH of the twins, without killing off TWO MAJOR characters...

I am tired of this.

And I really don't believe Gege cooked up anything worth the sheer disappointment of these two episodes.

JJK EPISODE 19 THOUGHTS

Ok but one thing that I love about the first year trio is that every single one of them had a problem with fighting at school when they were younger.

Like Megumi beat up bullies in middle school

Kugisaki beat up bullies seemingly in like elementary school

And if you read the manga than you find out that Itadori beat up bullies too. And was quite ruthless when he was younger

Like ALL of them got into fights and I find that really interesting and also cute!

I was listening to the JJK season 2 fully OST yesterday while writing and two songs came on that emotionally destroyed me because it clicked for me where the songs play

Firstly. The song that plays when Gojo confronts Geto

And secondly the song that plays when Kenjaku appears to Gojo

The first one hurts for obvious reasons, and so does the second one. But the second one hurts SO MUCH MORE for OBVIOUS REASONS. But I still want to talk about why.

In the second one, like yes, it hurts because that's the moment where Gojo meets Kenjaku. But there are specifically two short moments at 0:19 and 0:43 where the song sort of dips an octave? I don't know how to describe it, but it makes the scene hurt... Soooo much more... But when you watch the scene in the anime, BOTH and I MEAN BOTH TIMES the song dips in tone when Gojo is almost?? Betrayed??? The first time at 0:19, it happens right as after Gojo questions if it's a fake or transformation technique, but right before/as Gojo goes "no. It's really him". But the second one happens WHEN WE SEE GOJO'S FACE REACTING TO HIM GETTING TRAPPED BY THE SEAL!! IT HURTS! IT HURTS! SO FUCKING MUCH!!

I'm deciding to live in the reality that this is the worst amount of hurt that Gojo goes through post Geto-death, simply because nothing else has been animated yet.

Oh god and I don't even want to talk about how the song changes IN THE SAME FUCKING SONG to a more sinister version of the SAME FUCKING SONG IN THE FIRST HALF right after Gojo goes "who the hell are you?"

Also in the dub, in that scene for those who watch the sub, I would like the people to know that Gojo says "Your body and cursed energy... All the information provided by my Six Eyes is telling me you're Suguru Geto. But... But both my heart and my soul know otherwise!" Like- HEART AND SOUL?!

As of writing this, I am rewatching the whole scene and went onto the next episode. God WHY DID THEY HAVE TO PLAY THE SONG AGAIN HHHHHH

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Episode 14

I just needed to vent. I was putting this off because all I'd seen from the larger animation accounts on twitter and what I'd heard from friends that watched the raws was that this episode really chugged.

And it did. There's still great pieces of animation put forward by incredible effort from various individuals, but take a look at a minute long sequence anywhere in the episode and see how much moves in that given minute. See how many issues there are with character models, whether standing still or in motion. See all the issues with color design and composition, etc etc. I think the only bit of thorough praise I can give the episode is that the direction and boarding was trying incredibly hard to hide the problems that faced this episode.

There's 19 Animation Directors vs the previous episode's 21, but not even one character designer appears on the episode, which isn't a surprise given the issues with models. There's also 27 first Key Animators which is a shocking number for the amount of good cuts and movement in the episode, but there's actually even more 2KAs than the prior episode at a staggering eighty seven.

Even with the issues of the previous episode, there's no way in hell that today's was standing up to that, despite putting arguably more brute force behind it.

It's really sad to see because there's some really great talent trapped in these episodes. Sure, they're still giving us work that allows JJK to stay afloat, but if you compare it to their other cuts I think the difference is night and day, and that just isn't fun to see.

Hi!1 This was so super sweet, and when I saw it I was really excited! BUT I thought it would be way funnier if I plowed through all my requests (19 requests in four days, new record) and THEN answered this LMAO.

Honestly when it comes to hazbin hotel, my number one is Vox! For me, his colour scheme and deisgn are a plus, but his personality absolutely doe sit. He's cocky, he puts himself above everyone else, and he's just crazy funny (especially in his 'game day' outfit in the last episode, he acs just like I do a lot), I could rewatch his scenes a billion times!

For helluva boss, my favourite is Wally Wackford. Actually. I get teased for that, but him and Vox are a lot alike tbh, except Wally works hard every day with a billion different jobs. He's just so funny, I wish there was more of him shown to us! I have just accepted that no one except me really writes for him, so theres nothing left for me to eat. Even tho I love him, my fav ship in all of the series is Wally Wackford X Verosika LMAO I love it, its cute!

My favourite characters outside of the hellaverse are Mahito from JJK, Enmu and Obanai from Demon Slayer, and Vos, Spinister, Perceptor, Trepan, Overlord from IDW Transformers! I would go in on those, but its a lot of nerd shit not a lot of people around here will know about so I will stop there!
