🔥Mars in Sagittarius individuals are more stubborn with their beliefs than earth/fixed mars.

🌍Speaking of which, those with mars/mercury in Taurus refuse to change their mind about an opinion they have. Even if they’ve been proven wrong, or know themselves that they’re wrong; they will still stand firm to the public about what they said.

♠️ Taurus Mars 🤝 Anger issues. It's either a disaster or unhealthy suppression. No in between.

♠️ Mars-Neptune placements have some wide imagination when it comes to steamy stuff. It be going on in their heads 24/7! Also they might get frequent wet dreams. Infact on a side note they are quite looking forward to it when they go to sleep.

♣️ Mars in 4th house went through a lot of family trauma in childhood. It could be anything like daily arguments, abusive household, domestic violence etc.

♠️ Sagittarius venus and their frequent crushes. If influenced by Scorpio could be secretive as hell.

♠️ Jupiter–Saturn negatively aspected could indicate a hard academic life in the beginning but once you work on it, you will succeed with flying colors. My friend has her jupiter squaring saturn and she was always at the bottom in her class. But once she decided to put her mind into it, she became one of the toppers in our school.

♣️ Venus at 0° has no idea where to began with love. They want it but are clueless about what they actually want.

♠️ Moon conjuct pluto 🤝 love-hate relationship with their mothers. It's like— I can't live without you. The next moment—but if I die it will be only because of you. And it goes both the ways. I have this and trust me it hurts on a subconscious level.

♣️ Asteroid Actor conjuct moon could mean that when you act, you act flawlessly. No one could tell if you are acting or not. Emotions are always on point. It comes very natural to these people. If underdeveloped, could make sly manipulators, like a wolf under sheep's skin.

♠️ Scorpio MC people always have a strict control over their public image. They are not said to be mysterious just like that. You might think you have them figured out but there is always something going on in their lives which is unknown to the public. ♠️ Asteroid Skip in natal chart could indicate what all things you missed or neglected in your life. For example, in 6th house you could have neglected your health a lot to the point later it backfired. Or in Capricorn it could indicate that you skipped working.

♣️ Jupiter–AC people are very sharp minded. Especially if it's conjuction. They know how to turn the situation in their favour. They are also very versatile in nature, which makes them very well liked by people. Basically the All rounder placement.

♠️ Asteroid Scientia positively aspecting Jupiter/Sun/moon could mean you work good in science fields. Whereas if it's negatively aspected you might face a little difficulty in dealing with science majors and need more effors to put in. I have jupiter square scientia and I know exactly what I am talking about.

♣️ Asteroid Academia in 11th house/Aquarius could indicate changing many schools, colleges throughout your life or living in a hostel.

♠️ Aries risings are the most restless beings alive. They can't sit still for two minutes to save their lives! These people are very competitive when it comes to athletics, as for academics, they are okay with being average. Two of the people that I know who have this rising sign won gold medals during their school lives in sports competitions.

♣️ Mars conjuct MC or Mars in 10th house people are very dedicated and driven when it comes to their profession. They pursue their career with full potential.

• I see Sagittarius venuses barely getting into relationships, they tend to get a lot more people just crushing on them trying to ask them out then actually being relationships. These people love hard too.

• Capricorn moon & Aquarius moon 🤝 bonding over emotionally/physically distant mothers.

• Fire mars 🤝 irritable explosions every 5 minutes.

• I’ve also noticed how Scorpio suns tend to rely on their friendships. Expecting their friends to be as genuine as them then being disappointed when their ‘friends’ aren’t there for them like they are.

• Having same element moons is very common with siblings but I’d say this applies to cousins too. E.g. I’m a 9H Aquarius moon and my younger cousins are mostly air moons while my older cousins are mostly fire moons.

• They say the sign in your 4th house is one of your parents’ big 3 signs and that is so true! My 4H is Virgo and my mom’s moon is in Virgo. 

• I noticed a lot of great Wattpad writers that I read books from are Virgo suns with Leo mercuries.  • What is it with Gemini risings and smirking at everything? • Scorpio risings are so cute!!

• Pluto-Ascendant people tend to have powerful presences especially if they’re shy! Oh and they have good stage presence too!

• I’ve noticed Scorpio risings tend to be attracted to Gemini risings’ playful personalities!

• Taurus risings are so charming! • Aquarius risings are so chill!

• Leo rising in composite is literally my favorite rising! Me and my best friend of 6 years have this placement and the rumors are true.🌚

well im glad u asked here are some books NOT on coquette booktok (and one that is)

u have to read lolita by nabokov thats what kickstarted the subculture a difficult but beautiful read nabokov is a true word smith and theres only one other author who crafts imagery on his level

and that author is TONI MORRISON. if you want a book on female friendships, isolation, magical realism and truly unhinged female characters read sula. this is my favorite book of alllll time truly nothing comes close at all the titular character is so interesting is blunt and sensual and odd just like her best friend nel and this is a book i have to read to truly experience

if you loved lolita and want a story similar but about black girls read the bluest eye. this has two major TWs of csa and rape but toni does an amazing job at unpacking generational trauma, cruelty, colorism and desirability and how that effects young black girls esp dark skin black girls. i recommend it to non black coquettes all the time bc some (a lot) of them need to learn some empathy for their black sisters

bonkour tristesse is a quick summer read written by an actual 17 year old in the 1960s about a young girl living a bohemian life with her father until he behins dating her deceased mothers best friend and and she does anything she can to stop it. i read this in a day it was so fun and the author being a teen when she wrote it gives the main character and interesting voice

the moth diaries which i just finished like 4-5 hrs ago is a sapphic gothic novel set in a boarding and day school focusing on the boarding students and their isolated existence its really good def a psychological thriller and you’re left unsure what is real and what is the unnammed narrators psychosis. you can feel her slowly losing her sanity on the pages

stolen by lucy christopher is an older YA novel abt a young girl kidnapped by an older handsome man who she develops stockholm syndrome for. its told with the framing device of a letter its all in past tense and its set in the australian desert so lots of tension here

a book i just started but im already finding interesting in innocents by cathy cootes about a young australian girl who traps her teacher in a relationship and u are nottttt supposed to like this girl but ur intrigued by her shes very demented LOL

audition by ryu murakami is what the infamous movie is based on iykyk if not its about a man who holds “auditions” for the perfect girlfriend and instead gets a psychotic young woman

la batarde by violette leduc is a 1960s autobiography about a woman who reflects on how being born out of wedlock tainted the rest of her life

little birds and delta of venus by anais nin are a series of erotic short stories she wrote for a dollar a page on 1940s france for legal reasons i recommend this to ppl 18+

their eyes were watching god is an absolutely stunning take on black girlhood and womanhood set in early 1900s written in the black floridian dialect at the time it does so well at preserving that culture and showing the trials of being a black woman and its a very romantic and lush book one of my favs

o caledonia which is a gothic scottish book set in the 1940s it opens with the death of the main character and we follow the journey it takes her to get there and it’s supremely haunting

the blacker the berry another tale of black girlhood this time in the northern american stares in the early 1900s very insightful tale of a young woman dealing with love and coming of age as a dark skin woman

the lover the (mostly) true auto biography by maurgarite duras about her time in saigon as a poor french teen and the complexities of relationship with an older vietnamese man as well as her complicated interactions with her family & (sexual) feelings for her best friend

flowers in the attic a classic gothic tale about a young woman who is forced to live in the attic of her familys large estate with her 3 siblings and its as bad as u think it is

we have always lived in the castle is a gothic mystery about the 3 surviving blackwoods and the incident 6 years prior that isolated them from the town

emma by jane austen is a classic truly we all know it we all love it and even i enjoyed it and im a perpetual reader of doom and gloom

lady chatterlys lover is one of the most notorious victims of britans whole obscenity thing and its about a relationship between an upperclass woman and a working class man

wuthering heights is another gothic classic i highly suggest reading

and these are (some of) the more underrated books ive seen in my p much 10 years of being here the coquette literature canon is always expanding and growing

Hi Rumortracking  Anon! Re: Markus Anderson, idk if you’ve already seen this, but SMM subreddit has an extremely well-researched and enlightening post in 3 parts - “Deep Dive into Markus Anderson” and the early days of Soho House - that is loaded with links to articles, going as far back as c2008-9, detailing MA’s history - from its very inception in London - with Soho House.

MA’s job is to travel to prospective global venues, setting up new Soho House locations…not only the brick-and-mortar facilities, though, but also (and most importantly) the preliminary “special sauce” of identifying and coalescing the ~exclusive core Soho House membership groups in each city, who are then invited to join the SH clique. They consist of trendy up-and-coming 20/30-something “creatives” mixed with established, wealthy oldsters, and each group wants/needs something from the other…the reflected shine of youth/beauty/innovation v access/money/connections…and sex (lots of kinky, nonjudgmental, libertine sex). Markus is the magician who concocts this Soho witches’ brew of social interaction in each city/SH venue, and he evidently is uniquely talented at it. Like a shadowy, deviant society hostess, MA mixes and fixes people. His little black book, not to mention his private phone photo galleries, must be titillating! Also, from very early on, Soho has maintained a Soho House yacht, used for events like Cannes. 

Suspicious types like Weinstein, Epstein, and Maxwell have been involved in SH from the start, and MM’s first documented interaction w Soho House was in 2010 (a picture of her and Ninaki Priddy at one of the LA Sohos). Note: this was before Suits, before her relocation to Toronto, before Soho House Toronto. In other words, MM and MA most probably have known each other for a very long time, and it’s likely that MM has worked for/“at” various Soho Houses (allegedly…and in what capacity, who knows?). Scooby Doo (MA’s alleged ex-lover), Lainey, Messica, Edward Einninful (sp? the UK Vogue editor guy), Missan, ALL of the Yorks (PA, Fergie, Bea, Eugenie)…they all have long-standing ties to Soho House. I appreciate that SMM has such a loyal following but I’m not a fan. I know these are fighting words but SMM and Sussex Squad are different sides of the same coin. God help you if you disagree with the hive (which I have). It’s not fun.

And come on. Prince Andrew is Markus Anderson’s father just because the dates line up? Do you know how ridiculous that sounds, without any other proof? It’s as absurd as saying Kate is a falling-down-drunk alcoholic who drank her way to stomach cancer or that “abdominal surgery” is code for William having been physically violent towards Kate because of his anger and her 3 month convalescence is so she doesn’t have to be seen with bruises and broken bones. This, by the way, is exactly what Sussex Squad is saying about Kate’s health crisis.

with her fictional birthplace and birthdate, she is a scorpio sun and aries moon. that explains her short temper and her obsessive nature as well. she is seductive, magnetic, and scary. she has the untouchable vibe! i would also say that she is a leo rising, but her birth time is unknown. she gives the leo rising vibe: polite, holds her head high, she is the queen bee, always looking fashionable and expensive. she is also the leader of her pack, another leo trait.

You can tell people who don't watch Niji are really scrambling to find anything to hate about the AR Live because they just don't want any of the livers to celebrate any accomplishments. But if anyone is actually taking the opinions of those who didn't even watch the damn event at face value, here is my take on some of the "issues" these people are complaining about:

Long read.

THE GRADUATED LIVERS:

Pomu's, Nina's, and Mysta's voice were kept because it was a decision by the livers to be included for the fans. The remaining livers re-recorded their live stages after the others graduated, but some people actually think Niji was just showing 1-year-old footage, which would take some insane editing skills. The graduated livers' voices were part of the back track, not as part of the live singing. Their vocals were only heard for debut songs, too. There is also a weird narrative that the voices of the graduated livers should not have been allowed when there is no problem with it. Those graduated livers still support their friends and were more than happy to be included in AR Live even after graduating.

SELEN AND PASTEL STAGE:

It makes sense why Selen had to be cut from AR Live. There would be a lot more heat if they kept her in after her termination than to just roll with it since, unlike the graduated livers, Selen was terminated not long after already recording AR Live back in November last year.

I get it's upsetting many things had to be cut from Pastel Stage, but it's not just getting all the livers to Japan, but also booking the venue, getting the 3D riggers, stage staff, choreographers, and more. They'd have to push the AR Live concert even further after canceling the initial one. It honestly makes sense that they'd cut content rather than spend the resources to re-record it for a THIRD time. And since everyone wants the Niji to take better care of their livers' mental health, then not overworking them on this overdue project is a start.

3D MODELS AND RIGGING:

Apparently, someone paid the money to hate-watch AR Live so they could spread screenshots to make it look bad, despite the strict copyright rule not to share screenshots (which of course would lead to a DMCA). Frankly, if anyone is going to judge the quality of the whole 3-hour concert based on snippets and not actually bother to watch it, then they can't make the conclusion that the 3D models were bad. Although it's weird that someone did pay to sit through a 3-hour concert without having any intention of enjoying it to begin with.

I watched the concert, and the 3D models looked good, in my opinion. Nijisanji is known to have better 3D rigging compared to their competitors. The team that did the models and rigging did a perfectly fine job and it's pretty insulting to put it down because you chose to look at it under a microscope and pinpoint any instance where it might have looked off. A lot of the choreography (especially Shu's Shanti 🪑) and the variety games show how good the rigging can look, and it seems unfair to not look at those examples alongside the bad ones.

CONCLUSION

I feel like the Niji hate at this point is getting ridiculous. There's plenty of real reasons to not like Niji. If you want to "SiNk tHe yAtCht" so bad, you can boycott it and not spend money to hate-watch their concert, lol. Drama channels finding anything to talk about AR Live when they haven't even watched it is just another example of how little integrity they have to report hearsay. And it's tiring to always hear people looking at any possible negative thing to say when the livers and their fans are just being happy..?

Don't get me wrong, I have my criticisms of the company. I've aired it out before. Especially after Selen's termination. Hell, it's not like I don't have my own critique of AR Live. I also wish fans got more Pastel Stage. I also wish the first AR Live wasn't canceled. But by no means do I think the AR Live we got was bad.

I left the concert feeling elated and overall had way more positive thoughts about it than any negative ones. And it has me looking forward to future AR Live concerts. Other 3D debuts. And other projects like NijiEncounter.

Anyways, Niji antis can and will keep obsessively bitching about Niji, and then say "cope and seethe" when someone tells them to take a chill pill. But Niji AR Live did really well. The fans are proud of the livers' hard work to make it happen. There will be more positive things to come for Niji enjoyers. But if antis want to keep writing their own fan fiction that tells them otherwise, there's no point in changing their mind, lol.

For fans that want to keep supporting their livers, or any sane person that wants to see Niji better themselves, please don't let the hate keep you from celebrating any wins, big or small, that the livers are accomplishing.

I wanna talk about these two sentences I just read bc I feel like they’re so true for me!

The whole reason I’m reading this book is bc I have Venus sextile Jupiter and I wanted to understand it more. This sentence!!! I can’t even count how many times this conversation has come up for me! I am very quick to dismiss people, especially romantically, if they don’t believe the same as me for what I think is serious in society. And people will be like oh you have to be open to hearing and understanding different points of view! I don’t have to do shit 😂 I heard what I needed to hear and that’s it! As a Libra pretty much everything I believe that deeply has gotten to that point AFTER I’ve already seen the different POVs. I didn’t just wake up like ✨ I think I’ll believe in this today ✨ so if you’re not on the same page as me there’s no future beyond this moment!

I know many women in my life who are in relationships with people that have questionable views and they chose to “look past it” but from the outside you can tell that all the issues in the relationship boil down to the mindset that made that person have these questionable views that they looked past lol all these “solutions” are just painting the red flags green 🤷🏾‍♀️

jesus saves - darcey steinke. this book is pretty graphic esp the scenes with sandy and her kidnapper. the dual povs are great and its one of the bleakest novels ive ever had the pleasure of reading. I was sat in shock when I finished

little birds - anais nin. my fav erotica book I like this more than delta of venus and there's actually a picture I took of the book thats popular on Pinterest and goes viral on tumblr/twitter all the time LOL. a major comfort read during one of the worst years of my life.

the moth diaries - rachel klein. read it last year it was such a good introspective work that honestly the vampirism felt both secondary and integral to the narrators plight like you can see her sanity slip over time and yet tou sit there wishing either shes right so she can have at least one thing to grasp onto or wishing she was wrong so she can feel some peace.

chouette - claire oshetsky. MY FAVVVVV BOOK ON MOTHERHOOD its magical realism and you can read it as an allegory or read it as literal which is what I prefer to do. a quick read but its so touching in its strangeness.

lolita - vladimir nabokov. technically a top 5 but its a book thats so integral to me that I can't properly rank. the way he played with words and the depth of the book is just unparalleled. I reread it once a year and although I love the 97 film it cannot come close to the book. its filled with such lush visuals and such sensuous language I get into discourse about it all the time because people either hate it due to misconceptions or they love it but feel guilty so they have to virtue signal in the most obnoxious ways. im a separate third thing.

the discomfort of evening - marieke lucas rijneveld. this is what lapvona wanted to be…it was dark and uncomfortable at many times and you feel just as isolated as the characters in some ways it feels like if the vvitch happened in more modern times with how the family dealt with grief and death in a small religious community it was kinda gross at times tol.

earthlings - sayaka murata. another very gross book and I would go into this carefully bc its very explicitly about csa. the main character was a wonderful depiction of how parental neglect, sexual abuse and trauma can leave a person stunted and how they can end up in very unsavory circumstances. the ending was wild.

nausea - jean paul sarte. my first "philosophical" book and it really....hit kinda close but it became a comforting read. I was coming off my Hell Year and I was still dealing with a lot of depression and just emptiness and that book encapsulated a lot of my emotions.

the nun - denis diderot. one of the funniest books ever im not playing. its about a young girl who becomes a nun because shes a child of adultery in the 18th century and her life just gets worse and worse as random shit keeps happening to her. it has homoeroticism and blasphemy and was conceived as a prank where diderot wrote letters as the MC. once you get into the language its such a crazy ride.

pope is a satoshi kon stan down so he feels very strongly about his work being ripped off by aronofsky!!! he argues about black swan being a lesser film all the time but I would say paprika is his fav

Birthday fic for Tighnari lol, gender neutral reader and this is based on the birthday letter lol. Angst

Cyno had told you that he had planned on treating his friend to a meal, inviting his friends and hoping for it to all be a surprise. The reason he told you this wasn't because you were a friend of his - from Cynos view - but because he wanted to have you cover Tighnari for the last booked speech he had. Tighnari did have a script, and Cyno explained that you could offer to take a speech so he could enjoy his birthday.

It took a lot of convincing, and a lot of back and forth, until Tighnari reluctantly handed you the script.

"I wouldn't normally let you do this. The only reason I am allowing it, is because I know Cyno well enough to know he is persistent." Tighnari explains. "Don't ruin my reputation." He jokes, turning away before you head off.

In your walk over to the venue, you realise that he did only see you as a student. A good one, but nothing more than that. He made you feel comfortable with him, and you foolishly relaxed into his lessons as he taught you the more advanced techniques he usually didn't teach unless someone was especially good.

"Good evening, respective audience. Unfortunately, Master Tighnari has some last minute issues. I am here in his place, as a loyal student, to deliver the lecture." You explain, before beginning to do your best to deliver the speech.

The questions afterwards, however, were mainly around why you were specifically picked.

'Why didn't he pick my friend? They wouldn't have needed a script to help them?'

'Why didn't he call off the speech?'

All of these questions, you simply responded by saying Master Tighnari was the person to ask.

But one comment got the best of you. One person kept asking questions that were answered in the lecture if they had tried to listen. You continuously explain that this was covered in the lecture, seeing some nods of confirmation this was true, but they kept interrupting.

Yeah, you lost your patience.

"Well, maybe if you were listening, you would know these answers!" You snap.

"I didn't expect a student of Master Tighnari to be so short tempered." The person laughs, you gritting your teeth together.

"Do not link my actions to Master Tighnari. I am responsible for my own actions, Master Tighnari did not teach me my reactivity to imbeciles." You shout, the person raising a brow.

"Well, maybe Master Tighnari should teach you some manners as a lecturer."

Before you can respond to this, you hear someone clapping, saying another speech was due.

"Happy Birthday, Tighnari." Cyno nods, looking at Tighnari across the table with some friends. "I trust your speeches have gone well today."

Tighnari nods, thinking about how your speech may be going.

The meal itself was very pleasant, Tighnari thanking his friends for the celebration before heading back to Ghandarva ville.

He isn't pleasantly surprised by the sight of the letter waiting for him. Without opening it, he could tell it wasn't good. Opening it, he reads a detailed review of the incident you had been the main part of. To round things off, you were not to be a student of his. He knew it was so they could save face - they knew Tighnari was patient enough to be able to talk things through with you, and reading the logs he realised quickly this person in the audience really didn't try to listen.

Unfortunately, because of the incident, Tighnari didn't have any say in your new position. You weren't allowed to even be in close contact with Tighnari, which he can't help but feel guilty for. If he had only just put his foot down, to take the speeches he was down for, you wouldn't have been put into such a difficult position.

Hi Sarah! You just got married, so I’m wondering if I can get yours/other TSSQers thoughts on something. I’m the Maid of Honor in a good friends’ wedding in August. She went ahead and sought out venues for the Bridal Shower and never got anyone else’s input or budget. When I asked her about it, she said she booked it without taking anyone else’s budget into consideration. About a month ago, she told me that if the bridal party paid for it, it would be $250 each & and that traditionally, that’s what happens. Then she told another girl in the party that she wants us to get games/prizes and a favor for each of the ~50 guests who will attend. So I reached out to the bridal party and the consensus was everyone could chip in $150. These are not wealthy people and $150 is a lot of money. When I told my friend what we could do, she replied with “okay 👍🏻”. She followed up a few days ago saying she expected we’d pay for the whole thing and how did we come to $150? Now she’s changing the amount to $230, but she says she thinks that’s “fair” for us to chip in. I’m at a loss here. I’m not going back to the group and asking people to pay more after they already said they can’t. Am I the asshole here? I want my friend to have her day, but the entitlement here is throwing me for a loop. xx

Hi! Ahhhhh bridal party budget drama. I know it well. Lol.

In my experience (note this is just my own - your mileage may vary) having been to a number of bridal showers (including my own) whoever is 'hosting' the shower should be paying. From my experience, this was usually someone in the bride's family and often older (an aunt, mom, sister, grandmother, etc).

The bachelorette? Yes. 100%. That's something split between the attendees and organized by the MOH/bridal party. For that I would expect communication to go from the bride to the MOH to the wider party with basic expectations (location ideas, activities she'd like to take part in) and the group decides what's reasonable/affordable for each. Always a tricky convo! Everyone's budget is different! This shit is expensive and outrageous!

But back to the shower. It was important to my mom that I had a bridal shower and tbh it was mostly for her friends (my 'aunties') because I was having a smaller wedding where her friends were not invited so my mom paid for the entire thing (catering, decor, games, party favours, etc). My bridal party helped organize, coordinated with vendors, did party set up, sourced decor, etc - but my mom footed the entire bill because she was 'host' and it was 'her' event. My bridal party paid in their time and labour which is also of value and hugely underrated in the entire wedding parade of chaos and commitments. Brides do just want to feel special and I very much understand (and have been in the position!) of just wanting ATTENTION AND LOVE DAMNIT. It's very easy to get swept up in the details and to feel overwhelmed and to just want to feel like someone is caring for you! And unfortunately in weddings that care typically shows up in $$$. Again! Expensive!! Outrageous!!!

I would tell your bride that you want to do everything you can to make sure it's going to be a beautiful day for her but transparently the most the group can afford is $X/person. Because it's her dream venue and you all want it to happen is it at all possible for her to chip in to make up the difference? FWIW I had this happen on a bachelorette where the bride wanted one specific house and no other one would do (in fairness, she made the right call about the house it was a good decision) and because she had her heart set on that one particular place she chipped in equally for the AirBnb cost.

When I was going through old HP blogs, I saw SO MANY posts begging for a video game like Hogwarts Legacy. Now they are furious they can't ask Santa for it!!

I know lol it's so funny to see them grasp at straws, they really thought they were doing something with that "hurrr the game didn't get any award that's how you know it sucks and no one cares about it!!" Yeah nah, again not a game history expert but lots of great movies or books were snubbed for political reasons, doesn't mean shit and they know it. They're just pretty desperate for a win, even a manufactured one at this point i guess. I mean what has Jo lost, all in all? A bit of popularity? The Fantastic Beasts movies failed, but the Strike books are critically acclaimed international best sellers, HL was a hit, HP is being rebooted by a network that won't cancel the show after two seasons, with a new cast and more screen time which will allow for a better adaptation and create a new generation of fans, the books are still topping Amazon's lists 20+ years post publishing, and even the much derided Cursed Child play is now touring in Tokyo and Hamburg on top of its London and New York venues. It's looking pretty bright for Rowling nation.

Making Raskolnikov's Birthchart

as per my post about doing a birth/natal chart analysis for rodya, i have finally gone and crafted this chart for him!

the process:

i needed to establish a couple of important information about our beloved babygirl 23-year-old student failure:

his birthday/year: crime and punishment was published in 1866, which makes rodya, from what i understood, 23 years old (turning 24, since i headcanon that he's a scorpio; will elaborate further) at the time of the plot; it doesn’t really make sense to me why rodya would only be born in 1866, because by the time he’s 23 it’s going to be 1889/1890 already (and Russia would have changed quite a lot by then) AND in doing this, we consider the hypothetical situation that rodya is a real person, thus 1866 is the book’s “birthday” and c&p is a story of what happened to him that year; ergo, i took the liberty to run it back by 23 years, but with some exceptions: i ended up with the year 1842 — i purposely subtracted a year (bc well, 1842 + 23 is 1865 so we’re short by a year) since the events of the book happen in july. this leads me to my second talking point:

i (and perhaps a couple of other readers) maintain that rodya is indeed a scorpio. like, come on. there’s no way he isn’t. ambitious, intelligent, mysterious (but is actually really obvious about damn near everything LOL) deeply emotional (but denies it), prone to extremes, and proud as HELL; there’s no other sign that fits rodya other than scorpio. for that reason, i headcanon that he’s a scorpio sun, born some time in early november. i didn’t want to risk putting him in the late october range, because it seemed to me that he’d have more sagittarius-capricorn influence instead of virgo-libra (which, from my experience, kinda “softens” out some scorpio traits)

his birthplace: in the book, we are given this passage that hints about rodya’s hometown:

“A minute later the letter was brought to him. That was it: from his mother, from the province of R—.” (Constance Garnett translation)

Now, a disclaimer: I am not from Russia, and have no idea which provinces existed in the 1860s, so I had to make shot in the dark #1: I had to look up “provinces in Russia that started with the letter R” (no joke) just to have an idea which province Dostoevsky might have been talking about (it's times like these where i wish he didn't censor those places out but oh well). i found two oblasts (Google says it is often translated into English as “region” or “province”) that started with the letter R: Rostov and Ryazan. i literally went “well FUCK which is it?” when i saw it — since it was like almost 3 AM when i was doing all this, i just went with my gut and chose Rostov.

his birthtime: okay, for this part, i had to make shot in the dark #2. when i made the post, @vintageshits suggested that rodya could be an aries rising. that was the first thing i kept in mind when i was tinkering around in astro-seek/astrodienst. this was a bit tricky to do, because i needed to check back and forth in between tabs to make sure that rodya’s birth time was going to align the way it has to to make him an aries rising. again, i was half-referencing from the transits at that time in 1842 (which was, again, no joke u guys it was kinda tedious) and half-choosing numbers from gut feeling, but in the end, this was what i came up with:

Plugging these in astrodienst gives us this chart: (yes ik it’s in whole signs don’t @ me on this i did it bc it makes my job easier even though i’d normally use placidus)
