How do you guys feel about Silver being your son? I mean, Shadow lives forever, so I could definitely see Shadow having Silver. And then Silver could inherit his kindness and naivety from Amy...

But overall, what are YOUR opinions on that thought? And do you think Amy would be a "Momma Bear"?

Amy: It's weird- you're not the first person to ask about that here. Hope you don't mind that we just sort of, you know, address this all at once. Shadow: ...Silver is from 200 years in the future. Amy: That's the thing you respond with? Shadow: It- it's the most logical and irrefutable piece of evidence we have! Amy: Shadow, if time travel is real, then it doesn't matter where we think he's from. For all we know, he could be from 1,000 years in the future, 2,000 years in the past, or from present day. 200 years ahead of our time is just where he calls home and where he says he's from. Shadow: ... Okay? Amy: So I'm a bit more concerned as to why people think he's *our* child. *Ours*. Shadow: ... (⊙_⊙) Amy: Yeah, okay, now you get it. Shadow: He... but... what... no... wait... Amy: Wow, alright, you might have broken him. Shadow: (＠_＠);;; Amy: While Shadow processes that, I'll address the rest of what you wrote. We don't actually know for sure if Shadow *will* live forever. Part of the goal Robotnik had, based on what we've been able to find and what Shadow has been comfortable sharing, was immortality. There's no way to know if that goal has been achieved with Shadow. Like, Shadow's been through a lot, the fall to Earth from the ARK being one of them, don't get me wrong. *Amy shudders.* Amy: But, not to downplay that, Sonic has been through similar things and has survived. Heck, look at what we all went through on the Starfall Islands. So to automatically assume that Shadow is going to live forever might not be... might not be correct. I'm not going to lie... I kinda hope that's wrong, just because of, um... how he talked about it... that one time... anyway. *Amy clears her throat* Amy: As to the rest though, I know Rouge has joked that Silver follows Shadow around like a little lost duckling. Heck, I've even noticed Silver starting to act like Shadow sometimes. That's probably because Shadow is weirdly patient with Silver. Like, no matter what happens, Shadow never loses his cool with the guy, answers all his questions, is always willing to help. Shadow is... for all intents and purposes... kinda... you know what nevermind Shadow has absolutely taken up the role of being Silver's dad. Shadow: Σ(O_O) Amy: I mean you have! Shadow: We're practically the same age! ლ(ಠ_ಠ ლ) Amy: Doesn't matter. You are absolutely being a dad-friend to Silver. You are his dad in spirit. Shadow: ...(ᓀ ᓀ) Amy: You're not denying it. Shadow: You're implicating yourself in this, you know that. Amy: *How?* Shadow: If I fit the parameters of 'dad-friend,' then you are absolutely his 'mom-friend.' Amy: That- that's not the same! I'm nice to everyone! Shadow: Different types of nice. You are not nice to everyone like you are nice to Silver. Amy: No, wait, come on. No- Shadow: And to their point of 'mama-bear,' do I need to remind you about what happened at the sandwich shop last month? Amy: No... Shadow: The question was rhetorical. Amy: Shadow-! Shadow: Silver picked a meal that would give him pickles, since he loves pickles, and when failed to get any, you took it upon yourself to march up to the counter and not only *ask* for the pickles he was supposed to get, but then *demanded* he get extra! Amy: He wanted pickles! Shadow: I had already given him mine! *Amy points accusingly* Amy: Dad-friend. Dad-friend behavior right there. Shadow: STOP IT!

When you get the urge to draw but no idea what to draw until you remember the "who's this sassy lost child" meme and brain goes "DRAW IT!" We listen and thus this was born.

Shadow isn't sure what he's to do with the kid Sonic has tagging along in this future. Silver is just happy to meet someone knew, and one of sonic's friends even more so. Sonic just finds the whole thing funny.

Diasomnia as Children

Here’s a few headcanon about the Diasomnia babies because I’m head empty.

Malleus:

When he was little he followed the forest animals around the castle grounds, but particularly the flying ones. He was interested in anything with wings, and he’d constantly ask Lilia if he’d grow wings like the birds. Lilia would reply: “You will have the greatest wings in all the skies.” It’s also because of their wings that Malleus was first drawn to the gargoyle when he was still just a little fae.

Silver:

He would watch Lilia play his many instruments as a child, but he never dared touch them. He was too scared that they’d break, but he always admired the way Lilia played the violin. The one instrument he did try was the cello, but he quickly realized he was way too small for it. He found his love of sword fighting because he came across Lilia’s old war artifacts. At first Lilia didn’t want him touching any of it, but Silver’s eyes lit up and he held the sword as if he’d known it for decades. He couldn’t say no.

Sebek:

Unlike most kids he hates going to the dentist not because of the fact that he disliked all the procedures. It was because he already heard all the dentist lectures at home. The same way children of teachers can never escape a lecture, Sebek was constantly reminded to take care of his teeth. He only began to enjoy the dentist more after he began his training with Lilia. Not from any particular intervention on Lilia’s part. The fae hardly ever went to the doctor anymore. It was because he happened to begin learning about his family’s infamous biting power. After that, he’d go to the dentist and tell his father “My jaw will remain strong for as long as I train!”

All of these were inspired by my fic Once Upon His Dream, which is Diasomnia centric. Chapter 2 was just posted. Check it out!

Didnt Flynn himself and or some other Archie artists comment on the whole Shadamy as Silver's parents due to Silver being basically Trunks, and with Shadow being the Vegeta figure well, it just kinda makes sense no? Although honestly I see Rouge as more a Bulma that Amy is. Amy clearly fills Chi-Chi's role a lot more especially to Sonic's Goku. Then again, the comparison doesnt have to be perfect and its not like Sonic takes all the inspiration from Dragon Ball completely to heart.

Flynn and others have made several passing comments/jokes about Silver being a descendant of Shadow and Amy, yeah. However, Flynn himself has stated, as have said-other writers and artists, that whatever they say is not canon. It's just them having fun.

I kinda like that they can do that? Like, a person should be allowed to have fun with the material they work on, even if what THEY see and think isn't in the final product. Gotta go through quality control after all.

Sonic DOES take a lot of inspiration from DB, without question. Flynn himself did make the connection between Trunks and Silver. I can see both sides of the coin that you present with Amy, to be honest. She is a lot like Chi-Chi AND Bulma. Best of both worlds, I guess XD I don't believe this would directly correlate with Sonic's world though. As you said, 'the comparison doesn't have to be perfect, and its not like Sonic takes all the inspiration from Dragon Ball completely to heart.' Which like... is good. If it DID entirely lift and drop stuff from DB into its own plot, that might be grounds for plagiarism XD I do not know Japanese copyright law, however.

If this is in relation to the whole 'Is Silver Your Kid' question that was received here, I'll confess.... I wanted to leave the door open. I wanted to imply that it is possible, as Amy points out, that Silver MIGHT be their kid. She was casting about for reasons to doubt it until she conceded that the reason people probably think that is because of the relationship and parallels between Shadow and Silver... then low-key joked/blamed Shadow and their treatment of Silver as to WHY people think that. Then, Shadow flipped the script back on her.

Dunno if I got that across properly. I might not have, but that was the original goal.

I confess, too, that I had originally planned on going into physical similarities and differences as well as anatomy spiced up with some headcanons. Like- 'Don't just assume that Shadow and Silver are related because of chest fur. Most dudes have chest fur. Sonic doesn't because he doesn't want to take too much testosterone.' but I was worried I couldn't answer that in character in a logical way given the parameters of the question.

But yeah... *waves hand vaguely* that- wow I over answered this SO badly- that's the everything I guess XD XD XD XD
