A funny headcanon I have is that Hal had a crush on Larry Trainor when he was a kid. My brain one day was like "there would be documentaries about Larry. Hal's dad probably watched them with Hal" and with the whole fact Larry was very attractive before. He was probably Hal's awakening and his family probably just thought he was just a big fan of a dead pilot. It was a funny thought I had a week ago while in class.

Rita knit pride scarves for everyone. Larry was scared to wear his at first, but he eventually gave in and, for the first time, he felt so happy in his own skin.

Jane and Cliff are crazy competitive when it comes to games. ESPECIALLY Dance Dance Revolution.

Eric’s favorite song that isn’t “Hot Diggity” by Perry Como is “Call Me Maybe” by Carly Rae Jepson.

Larry names all of his plants. He has little labels for each of them.

He doesn't need the labels, though. He has all their names memorized.

Eric wears Crocs.

The team has group therapy every week now. Eric has started coming to sessions even though he's not a member of the Doom Patrol, but everyone just accepts it.

Niles is banned from group therapy. <3

Cliff has become fixated on finding as much of his family as he can. The others have been helping him, finding some of their own families along the way.

Vic created a team group chat and literally no one uses it seriously except for him.

Rita usually sends selfies.

Jane and her system just complain about who knows what.

Imagine larry getting jealousy (with a hint of negative spirit jealousy)

Larry doesn't seem the type to get “jealous” his “jealous” would be him getting really sad because he thinks his S/O isn’t interested in him

I don’t think he’d be the type to openly tell someone to back off either, he’d probably move closer to you, join the convo, that kind of stuff (activate overly attached puppy)

He trust you so he knows you won’t (hopefully) accept another persons advances, if you do you’ll make this poor boy sad.

This isn’t to say he won’t stand up for you, if someone is clearly making unwanted advances he’s gonna be all like “see that thing over there called a door? Yeah don’t let it hit ya on the way out”

If he gets un-comfortable with the way you talking to someone, he’s going to speak to you after or in private about it he isn’t the type to confront you in the middle of a gathering about it

If someone does start to make unwanted advances onto you, he’s there to stop it, he's ready to through down

He does get jealous when you spend a lot of time with the others, not so much with rita as she is basically his best friend

But the others if you spend one minute too long with them he's instantly there joining in on whatever it is you guys are doing semi in your personal space

He thinks he's being super subtle about it but everyone is like

Will take you back to your or his room if he thinks the people around are causing you stress (they totally probably aren't but let's be real who's going to say no to an in charge larry it cute af)

Could be a bonus passionate make out session to show how much he loves you with a possibility of nsfw as he should be the only one to cum on to you (buy he's going to like ask a thousand times if you are sure even if it isn't your first time with him)

Now negative spirit does get jealous surprisingly

But it’s more of the if they come to visit and you don’t pay attention to them

Kinda like a cat when you are on your computer

Unlike Larry they do get jealous when you talk to other people but it’s more because they want to talk with you

not that you can unless you can speak energy but he likes to try anyway, you are better at guessing what he wants than larry which kinda makes him jealous

And it takes god almighty to prevent them from coming out if someone steps over the line, which they surprisingly through trial an error found

Most of the time it's because of cliff, who doesn't learn from each run in

Don’t go trying to tease larry by making moves in other guys, it will backfire and you will end up with a grumpy spirit on your hands

You didn’t know how to look him in the eye, or well the goggles.

Not since Flex Mentallo accidentally flexed the wrong muscle.

It had been a few weeks since you had defeated Mr. Nobody and since everything had died down, you were free to avoid Larry like the plague.

“Oh, Y/N, just talk to him. We all reached climax together, it can’t get much stranger than that.” Rita assured you. 

“You didn’t fucking moan for Larry to fuck you, did you Rita? Right, no you fucking didn’t. He did, that’s why he’s avoiding him.” Cliff chuckled, since finding out the truth about the Chief, this slip-up of yours had been his main source of entertainment. Jane said he wouldn’t stop laughing about it when they were all small.

It had just been you and Larry left big, considering your abilities to absorb energy, the radiation from the blast and from Larry did not affect you.

Embarrassed, you fled the living room and went up to your room before anyone could say anything else.

“Hi Y/N!”

“Hi, Dorothy, excuse me, but I just have to head to my room.”

“Oh, okay.” She nodded, stepping out of the way to head to your room. Dorothy was really sweet, you just didn’t want to spend any time in place for too long or you’d run into--

Turning the corner into your hallway just as he was stepping out of your room. 

“Y/N--” Your eyes widened as you slipped inside your bedroom before he could say anything else. 

Maybe he would just walk away?

The knocks at your door assured you that he wasn’t going to let you ignore him anymore.

“Larry. I’m really sorry, I didn’t mean to...” You paused, trying to find a better way to phrase it.

“Moan my name when Flex had us all coming?” He asked through the door and your head hit the back of it, sighing.

“Yeah that.” You unlock the door, letting him in as he stepped inside and closed the door. He locked the door behind him and your eyebrows furrowed together. “Larry?”

“I want to be with you.” He stated, turning back around and pulling you into a deep kiss. 

His back was to you, a sigh left his lips as he removed his big coat. Dropping it to the floor to look at you. “I’ve known you for fifty years, Y/N. If I had known that you felt about me the way that I feel about you, I would have done this sooner.”

“But you haven’t been with anyone since John.”

Your moans wouldn’t be the only ones that the manor heard tonight.

i have a lot to thank doom patrol writers for but one of the main things is the constant lgbt characters that we rarely see, explicitly said, in a lot of live action comic book stuff.

2 lgbt main characters, canonically so far, even more recurring characters. They don’t even really seem to hesitate with it but they definitely handle it well.

BEING LARRY’S BEST FRIEND AND DATING RITA:

You and Larry arrived at Doom Manor shortly after one another

Larry was pretty closed off from you at first, as he was with Niles and Rita, but he eventually warmed up to you

Especially since you kept hanging outside his room because you were bored and lonely

You didn’t know where you were, but knew that the people in Doom Manor were your new family, so you might as well get used to it

You and Larry slowly become friends after bonding over your traumatic experiences and having to get used to your new bodies and abilities

You appreciate Larry’s deadpan humour, and it makes Larry feel better hearing you laugh

Of course, when the two of you arrived at Doom Manor, you met Rita

You had seen one or two of her movies, so you were shocked to see her in person

Rita was so welcoming and lovely to the two of you, it didn’t take long for you to develop a crush on her

She was always checking in on the both of you, also because it was nice having other people in the house, but also to take care of the both of you

And after having gone through so much, Rita was a welcome presence that made you feel a lot better

You found Rita to be so charming, but you also loved the softer, more vulnerable side of her

She kept up an act around you and Larry, but sometimes when you got her alone and she talked about her past, you felt like you got to know her at a deeper level

And it just made you like her even more

Larry is pretty observant, especially when it comes to you and Rita, so he picks up on your crush

He teases you about it, but he thinks it’s sweet you’ve found love inside Doom Manor

You don’t even bother denying it, especially since you know Larry knows you better than anyone else

“Are you going to ask her out?” “What? No! I don’t even know if she likes me like that.” “I’m pretty sure she does.”

Before you can build up the courage to ask her out, Rita surprises you by confessing her feelings to you

The two of you start dating, and Larry is ecstatic for the both of you

When Cliff is added to the mix and Jane comes back, the both of them loving teasing you and Rita

It’s usually childish jabs, like gagging whenever the two of you kiss, which the both of you roll your eyes at 

“Really, Jane, I would expect you to be more mature!” “Seriously, Rita? Why would you expect that?” 

You know it’s not mean spirited though, they just like to get on your nerves

You adore everything Rita does, from her personality to her fashion sense

You’re always there to comfort Rita whenever she’s feeling insecure, and you always know how to make her feel better whenever she’s particularly stressed and starts to melt a bit

Trying to help one another in terms of gaining control over your abilities, and trying to train with one another

Being super encouraging to one another, and cheering each other on when you use your powers

Sometimes you can get a little torn between Rita and Larry whenever they’re on opposing sides of an idea, and you have to choose between your girlfriend and your best friend

But most of the time, the three of you always have each other’s backs, which makes you a great trio

Clifflarry Headcanon pt. 3

• Cliff saw a picture of Larry when he was “human” before Larry saw one of Cliff

• It was totally accidental too he basically saw the framed pictures in Larry’s room and asked how he knew the people

• Neither of them were super into showing pictures of themselves right away because they didn’t want it to ruin things so when they did pull out the photo albums they made a promise that nothing would change

• Cliff found Larry incredibly attractive and couldn’t get enough of him

• He has a picture of pre-incident Larry in his room even though he never goes in there anymore he’s too busy sleeping with Larry

• He has another picture that he carries with him at all time in a pocket

• It was starting to fray and he was really concerned about it so Larry bought him a wallet he could put it in to keep it a bit safer

• The wallet is now full of pictures of Larry

• Cliff was extremely nervous to show pictures of himself to Larry after finding out his partner looked like a literal god

• He had absolutely nothing to worry about though becaus Larry finds him incredibly attractive

• He does make fun of the mullet though

• Larry has a framed picture of Cliff on his bed side table and another taped to his mirror

• At the beginnings of their relationship Cliff was extremely concerned about sex and at times he still brings it up

• Their inability to engage in any form of romantic contact has caused Cliff a lot of frustration and Larry does his best to reassure him but sometimes it’s just bet to let it die down on its own
