4. If you could put this character in any other media, be it a book, a movie, anything, what would you put them in?

It is going to sound cliche, but I would 100% put him in another turtles universe such as '87, where he can just be goofy for a bit! He needs to laugh more

5. What's the first song that comes to mind when you think about them?

I actually have a playlist for this! I tend to put in either songs that remind me of him, or ones I think he'd listen to. There's quite a mix and I had to think which one to share, but I'm going to go with this one simply because it was really the first one that popped into my head, though it's a bit goofy. I just think the dork in him would listen to it, in secret, in his room (like me, cough). It's Empire of Steel by Essenger. If you want to hear anymore send me asks!

Literally anything where he's got a real smile on, it seems so rare for him that he really just gets to goof off. I've picked this one because it's such a cute one for all of them together:

He's so cool, I would love to put him in some Cowboy movie or actually - I loved the beginning of this movie, I would so love to have seen a bit more and it's kind of putting me in mind of Tomb Raider or Indiana Jones, or something like that!

5. What's the first song that comes to mind when you think about them?

Roses by Meg and Dia. From the movie, and it's a bit of a down one, but we all know he's such an edgelord (affectionate)

Imagine soft, domestic Trellis.

Waking up to find he's not in bed, and going into the kitchen to find him trying to cook. Him hearing you and looking back, slightly panicked as the eggs he's trying and failing to make burn. Teaching him how to make them the right way. And when someone Luger comments on how soft he's being, he denies it vehemently, and you see him get very red.

After a rough day- maybe you were stopped by soldiers on your way back to camp, or maybe it's just been "one of those days". He finds you half-asleep and grouchy, and when he asks what's wrong, you just grumble. He leaves, but you hear noise coming from the kitchen. A few minutes go by, and he returns with two mugs of tea, a blanket, and your sweater.

Staying in an inn for the night. The crew had to double up to save a few lugs, so you and Trellis are sharing. You're warned about the bed situation beforehand. Trellis is not, and is very surprised. He offers to sleep on the floor, but you end up sharing anyway. He's surprisingly warm- for an elf.

When you wake up the next morning, he's wrapped around you, with his back to the door. When he wakes up, he's very flustered, and low-key high-key terrified you'll hate him. When you assure him you don't, and that you kinda liked it, he's relieved. And a little flustered, but you pretend you can't see the blush.

How they met you Bayverse TMNT

A/N: I kind of felt like writing something with the turtles again. :3 In my private time I have written a lot about them (especially about Donnie) and I could publish my stuff here :D (Picture from Pinterest!)

Warnings: Mention of weapons and violence

Part 2

Leonardo (Strangers to Lovers):

On the night patrol, Leo had decided to split up a bit

On the roofs, he looked closely at the streets and alleys to ensure the safety of the city

At a traffic light, Leo saw you

You were standing next to an older lady and you were chatting with her as you helped her across the street

Your smile was gentle and loving as the older woman laughed with joy

Leo looked at the scenario for a while before you and the older woman walked across the street

When you were on the other side, you waved to the older lady and then continued on your way

Leo briefly looked after the older woman before following you over the rooftops

He followed you until you were at your apartment and put some food out for the street cats

With such a simple action you had Leo's full attention and he was happy that there were still people like you

He made it his own mission to take care of you

Raphael (Cinnamon roll and Guard dog):

Raphael spotted you while he was on patrol

You were backed into a corner and threatened with a gun. The thief wanted your valuables and all your money

Raphael immediately intervened by throwing his sai so that the weapon was knocked away by the thief

Then he grabbed a few bricks and threw them down to knock out the thief

The thief ran away while you still stared up to see your savior

Raph saw a dark corner where you couldn't see him and he jumped into it

"Give me back my weapons."

You had thrown them into the shadows as you silently looked in his direction

You thanked him several times before you stood up and tried to walk towards him, but Raph immediately growled loudly, making you jump back

"Can I meet you again?" you asked him

Raph just huffed before climbing up and leaving you alone

Donatello (Sexy sassy and timid nerd):

Donnie sometimes sneaked into famous universities (without Leo knowing) to see what it was like at a public university

He also saw you quite often during class

Donnie found you very interesting, even though you never really listened, didn't take notes, and never participated in class, you got good grades and got through every class

You were quite popular, with the boys and girls, but you had rejected everyone

One day Donnie had put his number in your bag, hoping he could get to know you better

He knew it was risky, but he wanted to try it. His brothers simply weren't allowed to know

Of course you found his number and called him immediately, but it was a video call

Donnie had always taped up his cameras, but it still scared him. Then he answered

You talked for a while and he had to spend a really long time proving that he didn't go to your university but was homeschooled

You had a good time and even became friends

Donnie found himself admiring you as you still had your camera on and sometimes smiled into it

Michelangelo (Aggressive chihuahua and calm giant):

Mikey had spotted you when it was Halloween and everyone was out celebrating

He snuck out and tried his luck at talking to you. He always got along well with his looks, including you

You had put on the Hogwarts uniform and even had a wand

Mikey complimented you and you had a very long conversation, which you both enjoyed

You told him that his costume looked incredibly realistic, to which he could only giggle nervously

"I've been working on it all year, little one."

His little nicknames for you always made you giggle and his heart fluttered every time he heard it

But when Mikey was whistled back by Leo, he staggered towards you in disappointment before disappearing into the crowd so that no one noticed him anymore

You were disappointed that he had to leave, just like Mikey was disappointed to leave

Since then, you came to the place where you met every day and Mikey saw you there all the time

But Leo had forbidden him to talk to you

I can’t fucking find the post and it’s pissing me off bc I wanna talk abt it so much but. It was like “why is Raph the only one allowed to be sweet and nuanced in fics? Why are the others so generic?” And honestly it’s straight up because he’s less popular when it comes to the fandom.

Donnie is two steps away from becoming The Onceler 2: Purple Edition. Leo is everyone’s favorite sassy bitch. Mikey is a sweetheart that people only see as A) a baby who does art or B) a “cinnamon roll who could kill you LOL”

I don’t know if it’s just my bias, but from what I’ve seen, Raph gets sidelined CONSTANTLY.

In my experience, new fanworks start to get stale once the character they’re about gets super popular. This isn’t me trying to shit on people who like said characters, or those characters themselves. This is me trying to point out something that I think a lot of people overlook.

The reason a lot of (specifically Donnie-centric) fics/headcanons/art feel unoriginal or flat is because some of the people who start making them just want to get popular, and don’t actually genuinely care about the character. So they jump on every new Internet favorite, try to throw in every trope that they know will get likes, and the people who do actually love the character get overshadowed.

The reason that a lot of Raph-centric stuff is more nuanced and thought-out is because the people making it are making it out of genuine love for the character, whereas a lot of specifically Disaster Twins stuff is made because people know it’s gonna get attention.

Mikey is a mixed bag. I think the main reason Mikey-centric fics aren’t as nuanced is because people just straight up don’t know how to write him. I know I tend to think of him as “just a little guy” but honestly, he’s got a lot going on, and people (myself included) don’t know how to focus on that. They don’t know what to do to make him original and not just a cut-out of “sweet guy who loves you” trope.

I’m not very good at communicating my points, but I hope I got something across here.

the most cinnamon roll ever. also the donatello most likely to kill someone without hesitation???? like canonically??

2012

also cinnamon roll and a huge romantic but it a sasslord and tried to commit a murder spree

1987

awkward lil guy but is also a major sasslord (rivaling raphael and sometimes being worse than him). also has had the most action packed fight scenes with shredder (that i’ve seen) and got close to killing him.

rise

the ultimate sasslord, despite having a ton of sunshine moments and being pretty soft on the inside. hasn’t had a murder arc yet but i would not put it past him. he’s already risked his brothers’ wellbeing more than once.

2014/2016

sweet awkward guy. annoying little sibling to raphael. still insane (HE FREAKING JUMPED OUT OF A PLANE WITH NO HESITATION??)

mirage

i haven’t read a whole lot of it, but from what i have seen … he’s still a pretty nice guy, but he was also the one to kill shredder in the first issue.

idw

has a big heart and a strong urge to do the right thing. doesn’t make him a pushover tho. he’s very stubborn and has argued with leo a lot. i can’t remember a specific time he was murderous but i wouldn’t put it past him either.

2007

tired brother just trying to lead in leo’s absence. clearly loves his brothers, but sasses them regularly. we don’t see a lot of him, but he did outright disobey leo.

we’ll see if mutant mayhem brings a similar vibe

Romantic moments with the boys/the most romantic things they've ever said to you

Leo

It's a lazy Sunday morning

you two are still in pj's and bustling round the kitchen making breakfast

it's not a productive day, you've both been so busy recently that you decided you need a rest day

as you're sitting at the table and Leo is pouring another cup of coffee he starts saying something but you don't quite hear it

"What? speak up, babe"

"I said, I used to think my life, my purpose, was fighting. Just being a weapon for good. But, if I could wake up at 2pm and roll over and kiss you and that's all I did with my day, that would give me greater meaning than any fight I could win"

you're shocked

at his tenderness, at his honestly, at the romance of it

"and no one would get hurt in the process" you reply

there's a moment of silence where you're just looking in each other's eyes

everything else seems to melt away.

Raph

He's a little drunk

but that's when the best stuff always comes out

you've both been partying in the lair, loud music, drinks flowing, dancing ect

he collapses on the bed and looks over at you, smiling

"what?" you demand

he chuckles and looks at the ceiling

"Y'know, I'm not the religious type and even if I was, there's no way I'm getting past the pearly gates but, I would gladly go to hell and tell them I've seen heaven without even entering it every time I've kissed you"

"you're drunk" you say

"I'm drunk sure, but tomorrow I'll wake up sober and you'll still be an angel"

Mikey

you've made cinnamon rolls

and you're sat on the floor of his room both stuffing your faces

he offers you the centre (the best part) of the last one

the sticky goodness of the icing still stuck to his fingers

you take it and happily eat it

"Why'd you always do that?" you ask "give me the best part?"

"I want to give you everything, the moon, the stars, the sun. But I can't do that, so the little things will have to do. I'll spend the rest of my life trying to give you the world"

"Mikey..." you begin "Don't get all soppy on me"

he flashes you a smile

"Bet I can chug more soda that you!"

and the moment is over, but you'll never forget what he said

Donnie

It starts as kind of an argument

"You're telling me you're a scientist and you know that energy can't be made or destroyed but you still think there's nothing after death? That we don't go anywhere, all the energy inside us?!"

"There's an argument to be made for that, yes. But the energy goes into the soil or heat if you're cremated! There is no next life, we're done"

"I refuse to believe that"

you give him that indignant look you always do when you know you're losing the argument

he laughs and then stops to think for a second

"Ok, I'll make you a deal. If there is a next life, promise me you'll find me in that one too? And the one after that? One lifetime isn't enough of you"

"I promise" you say.

he takes your hand and kisses it

"Then it's a deal"

Donnie

Normally people stayed away from him

He wasn't intimidating so to speak, but he just looked mean

Like one wrong move/word and he would destroy you verbally

Then he saw you

It wasn't love at first sight, he doesn't believe in that

But after seeing you interact with Mikey he started having feelings

If you get along with his favorite brother, you're gold in his eyes

People didn't approach you because you were intimating, could probably beat up anyone that laid eyes on you

No one approached Donnie because he will destroy their confidence, ego

But he knew the real you

He'd do anything to make you smile because it made him happy

In turn, you'd try to make him smile

You were always gentle with things, especially Donnie's projects

You gushed every time he made you something

He's down bad

Leo

He's extremely friendly

He's charismatic and sassy

People tended to like him or be pretty neutral towards him

You made him anxious, all he could think about was how you could obliterate him with a snap of your fingers

Once he saw you out with friends, you guys were grocery shopping for an elderly lady that lived next door

He fell hard

The next time Leo saw you he swallowed his anxiety and talked to you

When you started dating, he realized just how soft you were

When you 2 meet, he was very guarded, wouldn't let you close to his brothers

Raph saw you volunteering, helping others and he saw that you were like him

He made a plan to ask you out

Which failed, but you 2 ended up spending a lot of time alone together

You never ended up talking about dating, but seemed to come to that agreement

You regarded his siblings with soft words

You knew they weren't kids, but because of your intimating nature, you had a habit of doing so

Raph loves cuddling with you, although it's a little rough with his spikes and shell, it's enjoyable
