why are all the dp x dc fics about danny running away from his parents? no hate meant to abusive!jack/maddie enjoyers, but you guys do know that's fanon, right? canon jack and maddie are...complicated, but they do care for their kids and vice versa
anyway, give me a fenton family road trip to gotham. give me jack and maddie trying to capture the batman because they think hes a ghost. give me the fenton couple becoming buddies with the rogues gallery because they count as mad scientists
bruce, of course, learns about them trying to hunt danny and immediately tries to adopt him, but danny doesnt want to be adopted. he thinks his parents are fine (and he defenitely doesnt trust another creepy rich guy who wants to adopt him)
batman: "but theyre trying to hunt you?"
danny: "i know, but whats a family dynamic without trying to kill each other every once in a while?"
red hood: "he has a point"
tim "made up a fake uncle to avoid getting adopted" drake is the only one who understands danny's reluctance to be adopted and helps him escape from bruce. meanwhile, jack has no idea that bruce dislikes him and thinks theyve become best friends

Platonic!Mad-Scientist + Experiment!GN!Reader
A mad scientist finally crates a humanistic being, but they are so realistic he can’t find it in him to scrap them like the rest of his experiments. Readers physical age is described just as ‘young’ and later he sees them as his ‘child’, but it’s up to interpretation what they look like etc.
Tumblr media
Many things are kept secret by the government such as labs of unethical testing and creations, from mutated virus’ to deformed animals. But the mad scientist always had his mind on something bigger, there were many failed attempts, ones that looked like Frankensteins monster others that looked menacing and uncanny or some made partially from mechanics making them to powerful.
One thing they all had in common was none of them acted like a human, none could fool him into thinking they were their own being. Until you, a completely sentient mind and on top of that you looked normal. It took years to grow you from scratch, hundreds of surgeries to be sure you’d continue growing, inserting mechanical pieces and organic but never using organs or cells from others. You were completely from scratch; a human with no lineage.
He intended to experiment on his latest success and later eliminate them to make a newer improved being. This meant he emotionally was distant once he’d brought you to life, he met your needs to keep you alive and left without a word. He continued to see you as a experiment no matter how many times you tried to get some form of comfort from your caregiver.
You were a experiment to him, not a helpless being new to the word, not a child... until you was. Visit after visit and test after test his brain began to recognise you as a person, something he’d never felt towards the rest of his uncanny experiments.
What started as flat explanations to your questions turned to conversations, bland food trays became more colourful, you was introduced to chocolate and soft blankets. He brought you a floppy stuffed dog one morning after seeing you hold onto your pillow throughout the night instead of using it for your head.
He tried to be indifferent when giving you such luxuries, leaving them behind on the floor without a word before he left or using them as bargaining chips- even though he’d give them to you anyways.
Experiments weren’t as harsh anymore and he rarely made you take needles or medicine unless he deemed necessary. Then experiments and tests stopped all together. He became withdrawn for a few weeks, fighting with his instincts telling him to keep you and look after you, while his scientist brain told him to rid of you like he’d planned.
One night he snapped. He interrupted your sleep, ripping the blankets from your grip and pulling you from the bed by your hand “come on, we’re leaving” was all he said as he pulled you out the door. Staggering behind him in confusion, he took you to his office, it was a mess of papers and files- a chalk board full of muddled writing that extended onto the walls- a small television screen displaying a image of your white cell partially blocked by test tubes and vails of weird colours.
He let go of your hand searching for paper, he found a ripped envelope and wrote on the blank side, he scribbled away -writing about his resignation, making up a story about how he found its impossible to create a true human from scratch, how he’s frustrated and loosing his mind so he’s choosing to leave for his own sakes. How he’s exterminated all prior experiments including his latest, you.
It’s was mostly a lie though, he had no intentions of killing you. You his greatest success, he’s not going to share you with the world, expose you to the cruelties of experimentation in the name of science. Not anymore.
He pins the note to his door, collects the documentations that recorded how he had made you and shoved them in his bag. Before grabbing your hand once again, taking you to his car.
You would be on days long road trip living out of the car that you had both fled the lab with, he allowed himself to grow closer to you, for his instincts to protect you. You both shopped for new clothes and games, stopped the car whenever he saw a restaurant you might like, taught you classic games like ‘I spy’ when you’d get bored.
He found a remote town and almost instantly bought a house there, sold his car with no intentions to leave, and moved all the stuff- you both had collected the past few days- into the new house. That night you watched movies on the old chunky tv left behind from the previous owner, comfortably on the sofa that was beside the fireplace, he had bathed you, cut your hair and wrapped you up in blankets. He had one more thing to do to truly feel at peace.
He sat in front of the fire place, feeding it the documents of your creation, file by file and lastly his ID badge from the lab. No body will know, you will forget over time (if not he will make you believe it was just a bad dream) and become just his kid, and him- just a single dad who moved here to start a quiet life for his child after beginning it in a rough patch. Watching the papers become ash and settling on the bottom; he placed another log ontop “Now, what can I make you for dinner?” he smiled turning to you.

what if we were raised together but also raised apart, unaware of each other until the day we meet and then- only then- do our lives begin to make sense?
more lore under the cut! (it's a lot)
The labs raised them in somewhat the same way- and both methods dehumanizing. Yuma solves a puzzle for a juice reward. Makoto solves a puzzle to avoid getting shocked. Both get shocked at the slightest display of disobedience anyway. Both have strict routines and regimes where every aspect of their lives seems set in stone. What the scientists didn't take into account was that raising a little genius in such conditions will eventually backfire.
They both escape their labs on the same day, shortly after they turn 20. They also name themselves Yuma and Makoto around this time, only being referred to beforehand as "Subject No. 01" and "Subject No. 02." These escapes simultaneously piss off the researchers but also fascinate them- how much of their identical choices were made based on nature vs nurture?
For the first month traveling alone, Yuma spent his time trying and failing to do everything alone. He eventually receives the help of a stranger and starts helping random people, learning he'll receive kindness in return.
Makoto spent his lonesome travels scraping by and barely surviving without the assistance of anyone else. He's still bitter and angry about what the scientists have done to him. He regrets not burning the whole institution to the ground.
They both meet at a bar, where they, of course, instantly recognize each other's faces as their own. After a lot of guarded questions, they learn that they were both cursed with the same upbringing.
So Makoto asks Yuma to help him return to the Amaterasu lab and exact revenge.
Yuma doesn't wanna hurt anyone, but agrees to come along... with ulterior motives! He wants to show Makoto that this world isn't so bad, and dwelling on getting revenge isn't everything. Think like the core relationship in Mad Rat Dead, between Heart and Mad Rat.
And why is Yuma so stuck on this pacifist philosophy? Well, he'd already gotten his revenge. Turns out, putting a bullet into the head researcher who raised him only made him feel hollow and scared. He doesn't want Makoto to go through the same thing.
They meet the other cast members on the way, doing odd jobs and favors for them and forging small bonds with all the strangers they meet. They help Halara, a pet rescue volunteer, get a cat down from a tree and in return Halara teaches them a few survival skills. The meet Fubuki, who is lost in the supermarket, but it's also their first time in the supermarket so they all end up going on an "adventure" together until the clones escort her back to her limo. She tips them a fat wad of cash that keeps them fed and housed in hotels for like 3 months. They help Desuhiko, an up and coming music star who's anxious about getting on stage. The decide to do an opening act as a comedy duo- Makoto and Yuma are familiar with street performing for money after all- and it not only has the audience in a good mood but eases Desuhiko's anxieties. The clones see their first concert together and it's the most fun theyve ever had. Desuhiko, in return, patches up their clothes for them (though, they do end up messing the clothes up again later, lol) with his impressive sewing skills. They save Yakou from getting beat down by some debt collectors and Yakou lets them crash in his shitty little apartment for a while.
This is really just a really endearing and cute road trip story in my head. It starts off tragic but once they get out it's just two guys who only understand each other trying to explore a whole new world while making other lives better.
They eventually reach the Amaterasu lab again, but by that point, Makoto doesn't have it in him to exact revenge anymore. He hates the place, but it was still his home. It's complicated. He tells Yuma that all he wants to do now is keep traveling the world together.
That's when Yuma reveals he's been secretly planning with the other people they've helped together to expose the laboratory for the corrupt place it is and get it shut down. That way they can get their revenge the right way. Makoto is ecstatic.
After they expose the dirt on their respective labs and have those places shut down, they're free to travel together again and continue helping any random people they see who need it <3
if anyone has any questiosn abt this au ill gladly answer bc it's rotting my brain <3

i'm gonna be real idk if your the right person to go for young justice core four headcanons but you give the best replies by far so heres my own idea idea
I was listening to the Roblox Soundfont remix and now the og Gone Angels and now I'm thinking . . .
Tim became Robin to prevent Batman from ceasing to be the symbol of heroism and good he started off as
The symbol that spiraled into destruction of even the self with Jason Todd's death
imagine a world where Red Robin becomes the very thing he swore to destroy with his own death
he dies along with Bart and Kon. Cassie due to this and maybe other factors fucking looses it, Batman post-Jason's death but pre-Tim becoming Robin style
or maybe instead he dies but the rest of the core four lives. either way Cassie still looses it, by herself or with her other teammates
And maybe, just maybe, they get nobody to be the Third Robin to their Batman, no Third Robin to Tim's Second Robin
likely improbably in canon but the idea of Cassie and maybe even Bart and Kon having a villain arc (maybe Black Silence style) is too good of an idea not to share
(Side note; imagine a Gone Angels cover where the survivor(s) sing and for the itallian lyrics in the midway point the deceased sing)
((extra side note: imagine this is what gets Batman and maybe the other Bats to reflect on the time before and after Tim become robin, post Jason's death; seeing their history repeat with Young Justice))
((hell maybe the Justice League realizes as wells))
"you give the best replies by far." Thank you. Sometimes, it takes a bit to reply to asks cause I'm taking a few hours to really answer the prompts/ideas/questions people pose. I also sleep at random times, so apologizes in advance to any asks that take a while!
My image of YJ is a codependent platonic polycule. They are Young Just Us because they didn't receive proper support from their mentors. This is part of why Cassie and Tim fell apart after Kon and Bart died. This is why, in their own weird ways, both of them tried to get a form of Kon back. Tim tried the scientist cloning avenue, and Cassie tried the cult.
If you want Tim's death to inspire Cassie and YJ to go evil, might I suggest Tim sending proof of Bruce being alive in the timestream and then succumbing to his spleen injury (perhaps an infection)? This would create a delicious amount of angst, anger, and mental breakdowns.
Cassie, the only nonretired YJ member alive at the time, didn't believe Tim about Bruce being alive. This was in part due to the cloning stuff but also in part to trusting Nightwing (or Batman at the time). If Tim didn't make it out of that alive, Cassie may be desperate to find anyone to blame but herself for that. She was a kid, she was lost in her own grief, and Tim should have had the support of literally any other hero.
The entire hero community turned against a teenager in his time of need that he resorted to conspiring with the LoA and ended up losing his life. Whether she chooses to be mad about nobody believing him (Tim's possibly a better detective than Bruce and people have revived before, but his evidence at the time was flimsy), she can be very pissed that not a single hero offered to help him. They didn't even need to trust in Tim's decision. They could have just accompanied Tim until the teen gave up or proved himself right. They could have treated it as a grief road trip while Tim found himself.
Anyways, losing the last nonretired YJ member that way may cause her to just snap. The JL was already on thin ice with the YJ for their lack of support to her generation of heroes. Them failing YJ enough that two children died in the field and one died as a direct result of their actions? She would, rightfully, loathe the JL. On top of that, she does already not trust the government for what they did to Secret. If she can't prosecute the JL, she'll become their enemy.
Cassie lost all of her main polycule. She wants revenge.
After Bart and Kon come back, they see how JL left Cassie and what they did to Tim. Cassie is part of their ride or die, and she has been treated so horribly. Tim has died. They obviously join her.
Now, with Bart there to give evil ideas (Bart is the scariest member of YJ and you can't convince me otherwise), YJ is a force to be reckoned with. Maybe some of the other members come out of retirement, maybe not. They would be unstoppable with Tim helping them, but that's the problem. They don't have Tim. Tim isn't there to help them nor hold them back. That's why they became "evil" anyway.
I like to imagine someone, probably Nightwing, screaming at them from across the battlefield. "This isn't what he would have wanted! He became Robin to stop Batman from destroying everything. This is the antithesis of why he became a hero!"
For a split second, YJ would pause. There's merit in those words, after all. Cassie would recover first as she shakes her head. "He became a hero to be the leash to Batman's rage. He's not here now. He's not here to temper our rage, and you did that. You abandoned a child." She plants her feet more firmly and points her sword at Nightwing. "We won't let you do that again."
It's dealers choice on whether YJ win the battle or not. Also, I do believe YJ would be obsessed with trying to bring Tim back. Perhaps some of their evil deeds truly stem from them trying to find ways to bring back Tim. They are incomplete without him just as they were incomplete without Kon or Bart and would be without Cassie.
Now, is Tim actually alive or does he stay dead? Did Ra's revive him using the Pit? Did Ra's lie or misguide the Bats while keeping Tim hostage? Will Tim come back, either after being brainwashed by Ra's or escaping, to find his platonic polycule has officially lost it and turned evil?

Monstersona by Chloe Spencer
After her parents' divorce, 16 year old Riley Grishin is forced to move from Portland, Oregon all the way to Little Brook, Maine, a small town that serves as the headquarters for Titan Technologies, an international tech laboratory. Having left her friends and father behind, Riley spends most of her days running through the woods with her dog Tigger, and eavesdropping on her classmates-in particular, the gorgeous, but very strange, Aspen Montehugh.
On the night of the homecoming game, Riley wakes up to find her town on fire, terrorized by an unseen monster. With flames spreading rapidly, Riley and Tigger have no choice but to pile into her beat-up pickup truck and flee. Speeding out of town, they come across the only other survivor: Aspen.
When Riley and Aspen finally reach safety, they realize something far more sinister is afoot. According to the news, all other Titan Tech laboratories on the East Coast have been attacked. And even worse, they're being followed by an SUV with blacked out windows. With all air travel grounded, Riley has no way to fly back to her dad, so she and Aspen embark on a cross country road trip, all the while pursued by men with guns, mad scientists, and the monstrous truth. Slowly, Riley realizes something's not quite right with Aspen, which puts her feelings for her-and her own humanity-to the ultimate test.

Hello helloo—I kinda stalked your Kenjaku posts a lil bit (I read all of them) & you just get him. They’re so fun to read
Like, I never thought I needed to go on a road trip with Kenjaku, & now I do. My eyes have been opened
With that being said, I gotta know: do you think Kenjaku would have a podcast?
HI HELLOOOOO <3333333 i’m so excited to talk to another kenny stan i’m jumping up and down with joy a bit. I LOVE YOUR ART. thank you sm for your service to kenny nation 🫂🫂🫂 AND AAAA i’m so glad my kenny stuff has your approval!!!! 😭😭 he’s such a wildcard that it’s kinda hard to characterize him sometimes pjskdb … but i Adore thinking abt him. our silly little mad scientist….. he really would be the most fun to go on a roadtrip with but 😭😭😭 it’s gonna be chaotic one way or another. more memories i guess!!!
now. for your question. he would ABSOLUTELY have a podcast you’re an actual genius???? that’s so fucking funny?????? he would do it just for the lols but he actually grows to really like it . because it gives him the opportunity to yap and yap and yap as much as he wants. his podcast has absolutely no sense of consistency tho…. one episode is just him reading a book, the next is him morbidly describing how a vivisection goes . he’s insane in the head. regularly brings guests along and they Always make it even more chaotic ? somehow ??? the episodes with mahito are always the freakiest, the ones with hanami are gibberish to any listeners, the ones with jogo always end with the pod abruptly stopping (he got mad and burned the equipment)… one time yuki joins in and it’s just them having a very intense scientific debate for five hours. same with tengen but a lot more homoerotic tension. takaba joins a couple times and makes kenny do comedy skits w him :33 etcetcetc.
basically !!! his podcast is a mess. and he loves it. i also think he’d be fairly popular bc 1) he has a gorgeous gorgeous voice 2) the chaos is entertaining!! his most loyal listeners affectionately call him ”ken-chan” <333 he hates it i think.

Silent fury and/or trembling hands? For the writing prompt? :D
omg these are so good :') thank u!
trembling hands Waking up after hibernation nap could've been more peaceful, but alas, your first minutes are just a scientist monologuing about saving the colony from the Board and that you have been a popsicle for 70 years instead of 10, and then the said mad scientist sends you down to the planet on an escape pod. Sad! Have a look on how Toby's first moments went on Terra 2. warnings: violence mention, death mention, self-concious thoughts, gun mention
---
Tumblr media
"Oh my god did I just kill a man???"
"Technically, no. It was the escape pod, and maybe his stupidity."
"But-"
The old man's calm-ish voice sounded sligthly more high-pitched than before. "Calm down, take a deep breath." He paused for a moment, then continued, with his typical voice this time. "What's done is done. Now go find the ship."
Oh boy, he probably hates me already.
I stood up, slowly and steadily, trying not to fall, as if my body was slowly recalling how to stand. Even worse, the 36 hour period of no eating before entering hibernation added dizziness and nausea to the mix. I definitely didn't feel like those smiling people on the pictures of the papers Klara was designing.
Oh no...Klara...
"Hey! Doctor Welles? I need to ask you a-"
"Whatever questions you have, I'll answer them later. You can come to my lab once you get that ship and we can talk there," the scientist said, and quickly added before I could reply, "And please, call me Phineas."
"Fine, okay, sure." He definitely hates me.
I took a deep breath and looked at the sky to get my thoughts together. Except that instead of seeing the typical, calming Earth scenery, what I saw instead was another planet covering almost half of the sky.
"Listen, I know this may all be shocking for you, but you have to get moving." Phineas's voice said.
May?! I'm barely holding myself together after your monologue and now you want me to steal a dead man's ship??? And I'm supposed to be calm? "Why the hurry?"
"The Board will come. And trust me, they don't want my success to surface. Erm, I mean, a live Hope colonist isn't something that will make them happy. Now go."
Fine. I looked around to see the way forward and noticed two small, green creatures running somewhere. The image from a guide to space fauna came to my mind right away: sprats. Tiny little creatures that apparently live almost everywhere in the world. I'll follow these and see where they lead. Surely they know their way around.
The sprats led me on a small little road, past a half-eaten body of a human and two dog-like animals that didn't seem friendly enough to walk past them normally. Were they the ones who ate the person? I didn't feel like finding out, and sneaked past hiding in the grass. This feels like some kind of shitty action movie. Or a joke. Surely this can't be a joke?
The road led into a cave, and the sudden change in light and a somewhat bad landing worsened my headache. I took a few steps and leaned on a wall, fighting the urge to lay down on the ground and curl up like a hedgehog trying to defend itself from the bad things around it. Of course, a migraine, as if the situation wasn't bad enough.
Back when I was a child, I used to get migraines often, but I haven't had any for a few years now. This one felt even worse than I remembered. I took a few deep breaths and wondered what could've triggered it. Dehydration? Hunger? Being on a strange new planet my body wasn't used to? Or was it the fucking escape pod?
I continued walking forward slowly, leaning on the wall with one hand. My vision became blurrier every step and the ringing in my ears got stronger, but as I barely managed not to trip over one of the sprats skittering in front of my leg, it all suddenly stopped.
And so did the time.
I watched the sprat, a critter which previously ran quite fast, move slower than a snail.
One blink, and everything went back to normal.
"What the f-" I muttered before crashing on the ground.
"Careful now," Phineas murmured. I barely registered the words he said after as I was slowly getting back up. Something about side effects of hibernation. Yeah right.
The headache seemed to have eased for now, leaving the fatigue as my only company. He could've at least let me drink some water first before stuffing me into an escape pod.
"Hey, who's there?" A voice asked, coming from the cave further part of the cave.
I managed to walk a bit further and saw a man sitting on a bench, supplies laying around. The man himself was wounded, not lethally but still badly.
He noticed me and gestured to come closer. "Okay, good, now..." He took a deep breath, and instead of what could've been a greeting, began, "You've tried the best, now-" he paused again, wincing from pain, "-now try the rest. Spacer's Choice. Oh Law, that stings."
What the hell was that? I looked around and noticed some first aid supplies in a box. It's been years since I took the first aid course, but it was better than nothing. "Sit still, I'll patch you up."
The man, who introduced himself as guard Pelham while I was doing all I could remember about dealing with such wounds, watched me do it all with a worried face. Do I look as unsure as I actually am?
Yet once I was done, he looked at his side and smiled. "Looks like the bleeding stopped, I owe you one. Though, I hope you don't mind me omitting this little exchange from my report. Spacer's Choice doesn't like us accepting outside help."
"Spacer's wha-" I stopped myself from finishing the sentence. Was this guy so worried I'll tell his supervisors I helped him? "Never mind. How are you feeling?"
"Better, thanks to you. Might've bled out on my own. Or worse, would've had to beg our boss to give us some Adrena-Time."
"Wait. Aren't you supposed to get a sick leave for this so your wound would heal?"
"Sick what?"
"Paid time off work? So you can rest?"
"That's a funny joke. Why would someone be paid for resting?"
"Are you telling me you-" I stopped and sighed, muttering quietly to myself, "Where the hell did I end up?"
"You're acting a bit weird. Did you hit your head or something? You're in Emerald Vale, a Spacer's Choice community. You know what that is, right?"
"Uhhhhh...no. Sorry, my thoughts are all over the place now. Just woke up after long hibernation."
"Oh. That explains what you're wearing. Where did you travel from?"
"...Earth?"
Pelham laughed. "Joking again, are you? That's alright, keep your secrets."
"What? I'm not joking, I-" Could Phineas be telling the truth? "Um. Do you know anything about the Hope?"
"The what? Is that some new Auntie Cleo drug? You're not one of them, are you?"
What the fuck? "Um. No. Sorry. What year is it?"
"2355. Man, you sure you're alright?"
We left in 2285... "Um. Yeah, definitely. Sorry." I really need to change the topic. "Uh. How did you end up here, anyway?"
"We were patrolling the area. There's an illegally grounded ship there, and we're looking for its owner."
That must be Hawthorne's ship. "Really, where?"
"That way," he pointed at the entrance blocked by the canisters. "But, there's Marauders there. Thought I could take them out, but then my gun misfired. So, I barricaded myself here. If they try to come, I'll deal with all of them in one shot." The guard smirked, clearly proud of himself.
"Right, great." The migraine symptoms were slowly starting to come back and I realized that I really need to continue to look for that ship. "Whatever. Listen, I really need to get out of this cave. Can you help me move these canisters so I could go?"
"Why bother moving them when you can just blow them up?" The guard picked up the gun laying next to him and handed it to me, along with extra ammo. "You'll definitely get really far with all that ammo. Sorry that I can't give you one more, it's stuck in my side."
"Uh, thanks," I took the gun and looked at it. I've never fired a gun, can't even remember ever holding one. They were heavier than they looked. Though, the fact that something so small could be lethal...
"Everything alright?" Pelham asked, snapping me out of my thoughts. I noticed my left hand was holding my side, right where the wound was a few months ago. Wait, not months. Seventy years ago. I sighed and nodded quickly. What a mess.
"Good. Now, just aim at the canisters and shoot. Easy as a pie. Just make sure you're not too close to them."
"I- Um, alright." I walked back from the canisters and raised the gun with my trembling hands. Why can't this all be just a bad dream? I thought before pulling the trigger.

Battle Tendancy would have been better if they stayed in the Americas. Caesar and his family could have grown up as poor immigrants after their father up and disappeared in New York. Suzie Q could have grown up there too. The Hamon Masters having a private training area in idk Texas? They could have been exploring the cultures of Central America like the Yucatan. Maybe searching for the origins of the pillarmen while going on a wacky road trip to play keep away with the Red Stone of Aja. The other antagonists could be greedy industrialists, mobsters, or a rouge mad scientist.
Wait actually I'm SO obsessed with cross country road trip P2 that's do good I literally love that
Like a more modern vehicular SBR,,, that would work so well and good I think I geniuenly love that . Cross country trip maybe with a treasure hunt across america as they follow clues to find this stone of aja treasure... all while the pillar men are doing the same. Super fun hijinks,, and yes yes going crazy with like them running into other minor villians also trying to find this treasure ans the pillar men and hamon group being forced to work togeather and stuff... that be so fucking good
And ough immigrant Ceasars and Suzi Q who live with Lisa Lisa is also so good, I think it would legit make such a good spin on Caeaars character... proud italian who was forced to run from his home with his adoptive family of Suzi and Lisa Lisa as the rise of war is beginning to take over their country...
I'm picturing scenes of the hamon gang getting a clue or an item meant to be a puzzle peice to the next part of their treasure hunt and their like fuck yes take that pillar men! As they speed off in a car only to not even a few seconds later watch the pillar men catch up with their car on foot in a few seconds flay
How fun would that have been I literally love this concept holy shit..

road trip timeline under read more
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Rough timeline of the first 3 months of this au where the trauma trio gotta go on a road trip around Eden to do favours for Denise (Dolph's estranged scientist cousin) in return for her to remove the bombs inside Bullfrog and Dolph’s head. (Don’t ask me what the favours are I’m still figuring that and Denise’s character out). Along the way they’ll have fun learning each other traumas and getting hunted down by bounty hunters , yay
I want to wait till I’ve read the manga to get into this mostly so I’ll have a better understanding of Dolph’s character and how to explore that, but also so I have more information to work with regarding the setting of Eden
see, originally this is what I thought the layout of Eden was
Tumblr media
I was under the impression that most of what was once America fell under ruin and that Eden “reclaimed” the cities that didn’t fall under (like New York) and rebranded it all. I thought outside of the cities the rest of the country was like, a mad max sorta deal
BUT I WAS WRONG
Tumblr media
It’s the complete opposite. Which is fun, but drastically changed how I was gonna approach the road trip au
do expect sexy aliens though, that bit of my plans hasn’t changed

Mad Scientist Road Trip will return, someday.

[Turning the roadtrip idea into a thread, because it honestly sounds like a lot of fun... And throwing Clarke in there because extra chaos.]
Ed thought he planned for everything. Or, everything that could reasonably go wrong on a road trip. Program-related issues? Ed had both Clu's and Clarke's code saved as .txt files on the desktop of his computer, which he figured out how to get their discs to connect to. With the computer also came its charging cable and a solar charged battery. Any other type of injury? Ed's first aid kit could probably handle it. Flat tire? The spare was inflated and the air compressor was in the trunk. No hotel? Ed had camping supplies. They had enough food and drinks to feed an army, more travel guides than any of them could possibly read, plus a recently updated road atlas and maps of every state and province in North America (mostly Clarke's fault, she'd seen Ed's small collection, memorized all of them in a night, and then requested the finer resolution maps for the rest of the 'system'... Every state and province in North America had been a compromise).
Everything had gone fine, up until they hit Montana. They stopped at Yellowstone the night before, which had been... A mistake. Between the high density of tourists and an unexpected severe weather causing them to cancel camping plans and take shelter for the night in a hotelroom next to a rowdy group of scouts that had also cancelled their camping plans, the experience had been miserable. Ed, Clu, and Clarke got little sleep that night, and left early the next morning, planning to get breakfast on the road.
Ed should have just kept driving when they got to Green Hills MT, but thy had already been on the road for a couple hours, and there was nothing else for several more. They were all miserable, hungry, and if Ed didn't have any caffeine soon, he was going to pass out on the road.
Green hills didn't have much, but they did have a coffeeshop and a donut shop.
...Ed did not have plans for stumbling into a front for a supervillain's lair.
Nor did he have plans for accidentally walking in on... Was that a hedgehog?
Nope. Two superpowered hedgehogs, a two-tailed... coyote? fox? and... Ed didn't even want to guess what the last one was, fighting a mad scientist and an army of robots. He stood frozen in the doorway with Clu and Clarke a half step behind him, and stared at the odd bunch in front him (who also momentarily froze when the door opened), half convinced he was hallucinating from sleep deprivation.
"...Don't tell me, the donut shop's a front for the Illuminati or something." Ed groused.
//This:

.....but with Clu.//
"User......Are you sure this was normal coffee......Please tell me I'm not the only one seeing this." When the strange group faced them, Clu gave a nervous smile and awkward wave.
"H-Hi there......Heheh......forgot to tip.
"You didn't order anything." The smaller hedgehog pointed out.
"AAHH! IT TALKS!" Clu nearly jumped into Ed's arms.
---------------
They were so focused on Dr. Robotnik and his, well, robots, that none of them noticed their audience until the one with glasses spoke. Then the other guy said something about tips, and Sonic, being Sonic, had to point out that they hadn't ordered anything. Which, out of everything going on, Sonic talking seemed to freak the guy out the most. Soneca loosed a hiss when he called Sonic 'it'.
"HE most certainly talks. We all do." she said.
"More reinforcements, Robotnik? Ha! They will fall like-"
"Knuckles, they're not his reinforcements, they're random tourists!" Tails cried.
"Yeah, and they just helped us a lot." Sonic smirked.
Before anyone could ask what he meant the drones fell to the ground, their wires yanked out and tied in elaborate knots.
----------------
Was it just his imagination, or didn't the littler hedgehog seem to....glitch* just a bit before saying that Clu, Ed, and Clarke had helped them? And how had the robots suddenly had their wires ripped out? This was getting weirder by the second.....and sirens outside told them the Green Hills police had just arrived.

Nameless Chapter 1, The Azure Striker
A/N: Holy shit its finally done!! I hope y'all enjoy something that took me several months to do, I'm gonna go die now Word count: 3k A03 version
     Click, clack. Shhwup
The sounds of levers being pulled and switches being flipped echoed throughout the test chamber.
      Flip, fwip. Murmur murmur.
Papers shifted around as scientists muttered among themselves about the test plans. They stared out into the rest of the chamber from behind a pane of glass.
As they stared it would be easy to see a young boy—probably around 13 or so—hooked up to some kind of machine in the center of the chamber. His head was down, his long white hair covering his face. His purple eyes seemed so… dead and exhausted.
“Please… no more…” He quietly said, his voice strained after yelling for so long.
A voice came in over the intercom “One more test Takefutsu, then you can head back to your room. We need to see if your control has gotten better, okay?”
The voice belonged to Dr. Kamizono. A man known well across Sumeragi for his efficient work on Adepts. He was also… a bit terrifying to work with.
Dr. Kamizono stared at the boy with some kind of twisted grin. “The poor monster was already at it’s limit? Hm, how pathetic.” Dr Kamizono thought to himself  “Ah well, any information is better than no information.”
The doctor flipped a final switch and the test began. ‘Takefutsu’ tensed as he felt more energy being poured into him. He tried to focus, tried to control it, tried to-
The poor child let out a blood curdling scream as the pain started. Gods above it hurt, it hurt so so so bad. Why did he have to suffer like this, why him?! He couldn’t focus like this! Why did this motherfucking doctor expect this out of him?! Why… Why…
The white-haired doctor leaned forward, getting as close as he could to the glass. He saw as the boy’s body lost its human shape and became one of pure electrical energy. How fascinating! This was new!
“Doctor, we should stop now. The energy is getting too high, it could explode on us!” Kamizono’s assistant pleaded.
“Nonsense! We’ve never gotten this far! We must keep going.” The doctor said, his grin getting wider.
As the child's hatred and pain grew, so did his power. Growing more and more until everyone’s sight was pierced with  white light as a loud boom echoed throughout the chamber. But as soon as it started, it stopped. ‘‘Takefutsu’s’’ vision faded from white into pitch black, as the power had been knocked out.
Unable to be seen by the boy, the scientist's bodies had been slammed against the wall and cooked alive, rendering all instantly dead.
And as much as the boy wanted to sit and wonder what just happened, the alarms started to blare. Luckily, because the power was out, he was unhooked from the machine.
Grabbing his sunglasses from the table by the entrance, he ran out of the chamber and made mad dashes through the halls. Dodging around guards and sneaking his way to the entrance.
He managed to burst through the exit doors and stumbled out, tripping a little on some loose rock on the gravel road. It was a cold starlit night. Running a little bit further, he ducked into an alleyway and slid down the wall.
Sitting and out of breath, the purple-eyed boy tried to process all that had happened… He was out… He was actually out! He could! He could… have a normal life…? No, he couldn’t just ignore what had happened to him! What if it happens to others?
Standing up with a grunt, he decided that he wasn’t going to just sit around and let Sumeragi do what they wanted. He, Asimov, was going to stop them and take down all non-adepts that came his way. Yeah… yeah that sounded good.
As he walked off, a figure stared. A ghostly and ethereal looking figure. They stood tall and looked quite strong. It’s hard to tell what exactly their specific features were, as they had a pale-blue glow around them. You’d have to squint to get a hint of their appearance.
They sighed and shook their head
“Oh child, this path is dangerous for the mind and soul. I hope you’re careful with it.” With that, they vanished.
Several years later
Asimov had managed to rescue a young boy from a Sumeragi lab. The boy had long blond hair in a braid and small blue dragon wings. He sat at a table, still having broken chains around his neck and wrists. He kept his head down as Asimov walked around the room before sitting in front of him.
“Alright, there’s a few options I’m about to give you here boy. You can either stay with us, work with us, be under our protection, and be free like we are, or, go back out to the world and likely end up captured again. What do you choose?”
The boy paused for a moment and then quietly said “Do you…promise to protect the adepts that work with you…?” His voice was quiet and uncertain. He tried to look confident in what he was asking but he was still worried. Adepts being treated right was such a rarity these days…
Asimov nods, “Correct, though we hope to extend this to outside of QUILL. It’s why I freed you from the Sumeragi labs. No adept should be experimented on like that.”
The blond haired boy went silent for a minute or two before saying, “I wish to join you and your group.”
Asimov raised an eyebrow, a bit surprised this had worked so well so quickly, and asked, “Why if I may ask? Do you share the same goal we all have? Is it for possible revenge against those who’ve wronged you?”
“No, the opposite really… If I continue with only revenge in mind… at that point the only thing I’d be able to do is hate and I don’t want to end up like that.”
The white haired man hummed. “Very well then, you are aware you may die at any time by joining us, correct?” The boy across from him nodded. “If you say so, welcome to QUILL my boy. Do you have a name by any chance?”
The blue eyed boy looked down in silence, not being able to remember his name… Asimov sighed and looked at the documents he also stole from Sumeragi. At the bottom of this document was the code name “Gunvolt.”
“Alright,” Asimov stood and walked over to Gunvolt. He held out his hand to the boy. “Come along now, you’ve got some new people to meet.” He said with a smile.
Hesitantly, Gunvolt took the tallers hand and was gently pulled to a new room with two new people.
“Moniqa, Zeno, meet our newest QUILL member,
      Gunvolt.”
It’s been about four years since Gunvolt joined QUILL. He’s now a 5’3 tall 15 year old, with healthy medium-sized dark blue wings. During his time, Asimov helped Gunvolt harness the power of the Azure Striker. Granted it took a bit of convincing as the poor lad was quite terrified of his power. But that’s besides the point for now.
Joining QUILL also meant for the first time ever Gunvolt had a real family. Or at least what felt like a real family to him. He had Asimov as his father figure, Moniqa as the mother figure, and Zeno, the loveable and energetic older brother.
Zeno was also the main person that got Gunvolt into a lot of games and shows. It was fantastic bonding for the two. Though Moniqa would get on their cases if the two stayed up too late. The two boys were often trained together as well, which usually ended up being aiming contests that Zeno would start.
Speaking of training, let’s go look at one of those sessions, why don’t we?
This was one of those more Septima focused training sessions, with obstacles and objectives to better hone the flexibility of one’s Septima.
During one of the breaks in this session, Gunvolt looked over at Zeno as a question crossed his head. Zeno eventually caught his gaze and asked,
“What’s up little man? Ya got somethin on your mind?”
A bit startled Gunvolt answered, “Uh, sorry, I was just wondering… what is your septima exactly? I’ve seen it used but I’m not sure what it is…”
Zeno blinked a little and said, “After all these years I’ve never told you?! Damn, I thought I was better than that, heh. Well, basically! I can form these little energy things,” He opened his hand and a small blob of red energy formed “And I can shape it into what I need, like bullets, or grenades and it’ll act like that thing. It’s very useful!” He said with a smile as the energy dissipated.
Gunvolt hummed in understanding and fell silent for a bit before asking “Do you… know what Asimovs septima is? I’ve never seen him ever use it if he has one…”
Zeno thought for a moment before saying, “Nope I don’t think I’ve ever seen him use it either. I think the only person that might’ve seen it is Moniqa. But he’s pretty secret about that. Dude has his mysteries I guess.” He shrugged. “In any case, let’s get back to training, the scores only 2-1!” And just like that, the redhead shot up and darted towards the training grounds.
“Huh- w-wait Zeno!! Wait up!!” Gunvolt called out as he scrambled to his feet and raced after Zeno.
Now as you know, change hits us all. Sometimes rather quickly. And for our boy Gunvolt this change was going to be rather… well why don’t we just go watch?
Before we get started, here’s what new intel had been acquired. QUILL had found out what plans Sumeragi had when it came to using their Muse, who was a popular cyber idol as her songs could be heard across the country. Because of that they were planning on broadcasting the songs so they'd be able to locate every adept in the country. What would they use that information for? Nothing good that’s for sure. It was quite a loss for Zeno when he found out that The Muse was being used against Adepts, He was a pretty big fan after all.
They had managed to track down a train that was rumored to be carrying The Muse to its next destination. Gunvolt was to be sent out to infiltrate the train and hopefully put a stop to the “Project Muse.” Let’s see how that’s going…
After a small snag with a Sumeragi officer who attempted to capture and interrogate Gunvolt—accidentally giving him some important intel in the process—the boy stood outside the door that led to the room he was just tied up in. He stretched out his wings as he stated the following.
“Code name GV, “Gunvolt” here. Sheeps 3, open the line.”
Moniqa’s voice came in through his ear piece.
“This is Sheeps 3! Looks like you’re still in one piece Gunvolt.”
“Yeah, and I got some new intel. The Muse is en route to its new location. I’m gonna bust out of here and resume the mission.”
“Please be careful, the chances of this still being a trap is really high.” Moniqa said in a worried tone.
Asimovs voice then chimed in through the earpiece
“This is Sheep’s Leader. Roger that. GV, resume the mission. Sheeps 3, you catch any new info and keep communication open.” He sounded as stern and confident as ever.
Moniqa sighed slightly, “Alright, GV, play nice out there.”
Gunvolt hummed a little at Moniqas response.
“Sheeps 2, change of plans, I want you to be GV’s support.” Asimov said
“Hey hey, Sheeps 2 hears ya loud and clear! Sounds like the usual routine.” Zeno replied with a laugh.
“Sheeps 2 to Gunvolt, you only have one life dude. Take good care of it.”
Not entirely sure what that meant, the blonde responded, “…Roger that. I’ll take the appropriate steps.”
“Appropriate st… dude you aren’t picking up on my vibe are ya.” Zeno said with a mild tone of disappointment.
Asimov cut in, stopping the conversation from going any further, “Okay, okay, we have a Muse busting mission to restart. Good luck!” The line cut.
Pulling out his gun, Gunvolt started to dash through the bronze and black hallway, jumping over random scattered boxes and occasionally blasting the guard robots as they made slow attempts to fire at him.
Eventually he reached an elevator. Luckily! The door was open. Unluckily! It wasn’t powered. Hm. The blond stepped into the elevator and looked for any possible way to get this thing goin. He was already late as is.
He spotted a generator-like thing on the wall of the elevator. Perfect! With a quick tag and a zap the elevator was moving quickly up.
He glanced out the ceiling-length window, dang this was really high up.. was this really where a train was coming out from? He shrugged off the question, it’d be too late to question the intel at this point.
As the doors to the elevator opened Gunvolt could hear guards panicking over how he got to the top floor. He could see them start to gather in front of him, weapons at the ready. Well at least there was some variety.
With a small stretch of his wings he ran forward, tagging and zapping anything in his way, it was quite efficient really. He dodged his way through the rapidly closing doors as he ducked and weaved around the various guard robots
He eventually reached a large pink hexaplye, which must be the last ditch effort at security. It wasn’t really good security as Gunvolt tagged and broke it down with relative ease.
Rounding the corner into the hallway he spotted movement through the large windows. Shit, the train was already moving?! But he’d been so fast. Ugh, how to get there now.. Hm wait.. ah that might be a rather stupid plan.. but anything for the mission.
He took a few steps back and Moniqas voice attempted to chime in with a quick “GV please think about what you’re doing-” but it was far too late. As he ran straight through the window—arms crossed over his face so he didn’t get glass in his eyes—and started falling towards the train.
Now he had activated his flashfield and had his wings spread so he was falling slowly and safely. He also couldn’t quite hear what was being said to him through the earpiece, electricity is quite loud that way, but when he landed on the tail end of the train he could just manage to catch Moniqa explaining what he just did and Zeno yelling “What?!” Uh oh..
“Dude!! I literally just told you to be careful with your life and you went and jumped out of a very tall building?! Onto a moving train?! Where is your self preservation?!?” An angry yet concerned voice shouted through the ear piece. Clearly still Zeno.. whoops.
“…I’m on the train now so it’s fine right?” Gunvolt asked, hoping his ears weren't bleeding from the scolding.
“Duuudeee, whatever- be lucky it’s me yelling at you and not Moniqa, I think she’s too worried about Asimov right now.” Zeno said, followed by a loud exasperated sigh.
“I’ll.. count my blessings I guess. I’m continuing the mission as planned.” The blond haired boy said. He stared at the path forward and took a deep breath. He just needed to get to the head, that’s where The Muse was being held. Then he can stop the train and go home. Easy.
So off he ran down the train doing what he does best, zappin and blastin. And everything was going great! Well.. until Gunvolt overheard some Sumeragi soldiers yelling about sending out a ‘Mantis’. Whatever that was, it didn't sound good.
Luckily—or unluckily depending on how you see the situation—the teen adept didn’t have to wait long to find out! As something scooted up next to him on the tracks, then hopped up onto the train and in front of him.
He took a good look at whatever was in front of him and.. oh.. it’s a Sumeragi tank. How lovely. It stood tall with its freshly painted coat of olive green, it’s yellow eyes stared down at Gunvolt. Then it started firing the rockets. Quickly putting up his flashfield to destroy the oncoming rockets, the blonde sighed. Some missions were difficult but this was just getting annoying to deal with. He had never exactly dealt with one of these before either so how was he-
His thoughts were cut off as Moniqa chimed through the ear piece
“Hey GV! If you heat that thing up enough it’ll go down and pop out it’s core to cool off. That should give you an opening to destroy it.”
Huh, well, always trust Moniqa to give you the solution to a problem. As the tank attempted to shoot down Gunvolt, he very easily tagged and brought it down. Like Moniqa had said, a yellow core popped out of its back, some steam following it. It didn’t get a chance to get back up as the core was quickly overloaded with electrical energy and broke.
Once again Gunvolt was moving swiftly along until he had to duck because a laser nearly burned his entire face. Was that another Mantis? Probably. Did Gunvolt have to deal with it? Probably not. The train car he was on top of did have a door to it so.. down he goes!
Now he was immediately greeted with a hexaplye, but that did mean he was getting close to the objective. So after quickly destroying that he went through the other door across the car and into the next one. And everything seemed normal, if not for an unnerving lack of guards. As he walked further in though he noticed something hiding behind a large white crate.
Peeking around the crate, Gunvolt made eye contact with.. a kid?! What the hell was a small child doing here?! They stared up at him with their red eyes, the hood of their grey hoodie covering most other facial features. They were curled up into a tight ball, trying to appear as small as possible.
“Uhm… Hello.” The child spoke with a quiet voice.
“Hi... what... what are you doing here?” Gunvolt asked softly, shaking off most of his confusion. He knelt down to be at eye level with the kid. He could faintly see the tips of their hair being a teal color peeking out from under the hood.
“I... I don’t know. I got on from a weird building and I don’t know where it’s going and I-I’m scared..” They hugged their sides and looked down.
“Okay.. uhm..” Crap... personal feelings weren’t supposed to get in the way of missions but... this was a kid here! Likely no older than ten! He couldn’t just leave them here!!
...Screw it, he’ll risk the lecture from Asimov later
“Alright, here’s what’s going to happen. I still have to stop the train but as soon as it does I’m going to come back and get you to safety okay?” The child nodded. “Okay, stay here until then.” He gently patted their head and stood up.
He gave a final wave to the child as he went through the other door to the front of the train.
He looked around the room. Lots of computers, a lever to stop the train, and some kind of large machinery. Hm. He wasn’t sure what the machine did but it seemed like it was meant to hold something? Weird...
Clicking through some of the computer's files, Gunvolt found nothing that looked like Muse data. Damn. Well... better wipe whatever was here just in case.
With a quick zap to the computers, he pulled the lever to stop the train. As he did that though it also cut all lights. Oops... guess that lever did more than stop the train. Eh, whatever. Using his flashfield as a light source, he headed back.
Dismissing the flashfield he lightly crouched down in front of the child and gently placed his hand on their head. They flinched a little and placed their small hands on his to make sure he was safe.
“Alright, I’m back. Let’s get you out of here now okay?” Gunvolt could feel the child nod. He turned around, kneeling down and opened up his wings. “Climb on my back.” He stated.
“Won’t your wings get hurt..?” The teal-haired child asked.
Gunvolt shook his head. “No, they’re very strong.”
The child hesitantly climbed onto his back, swinging their arms around his neck. He put his arms under their legs for better support.
“By the way. What’s your name?”
     “Uhm... its Joule.”
“That’s a pretty name.” He said as he headed out the door.
That’s where conversation ended for now as Gunvolt quickly exited the train and made his way to the rendezvous spot, sneaking his way past Sumeragi guards.
When he met up with Zeno the taller adept was also confused as to why a child was on the train. But after some talking about where the child should stay for now, Gunvolt recommended the group's shared apartment. Zeno seemed a little hesitant about the idea, worried that the child might end up being a threat.
Though after some valid points from Gunvolt, mainly how even if the kid was a threat they’d be able to keep an eye on them constantly, Zeno eventually agreed and passed it forward to Moniqa and Asimov over transmission.
Moniqa was all for it and Asimov agreed surprisingly quickly. As suspicious as that was, Gunvolt couldn’t help but smile. He had a new friend! As they headed home Joule revealed that she was a girl with very little memory of any kind of parents or a proper home. The conversation on the way back helped Joule feel very comfortable yet it also made her realize how exhausted she was.
As the group arrived at the medium sized apartment, Moniqa greeted them and told them she had already set up a bed for Joule in her room. Joule wanted to sleep so she headed into Moniqas room for the night, falling asleep very quickly. Dinner was also ready so after getting into more casual gear the group enjoyed a lovely meal together and then went to bed.
Hm.. how little Gunvolt knows that taking in this small girl was going to change the course of his life. But that’s neither here nor there, as there’s still more to take down within Sumeragi. We’ll catch up on that next time.
The Adventures of Gunvolt will continue in
Amaterasu’s Glory

Introducing...meeeeee (tap for better quality)
Currently my only really officially posted writing:
^A brief chronicling of a single night spent at a motel in Arizona. Two normal men---Specter, an imperialist, and Tenebri, a socialist---are on a road trip.
Call me Glim! As I type this I am entering one of those identity pits where I can't remember anything about myself. Uhhhhhhh. I'm going to drink some water to escape the event horizon
Worked! I'm restored!
So what am I here for?
The Wip
Well, this is primarily an art blog where I post about the WIP to end all other WIPs, my magnum opus, my disaster child, my manuscript which is steadily gaining on War and Peace's word count and is currently over 1,000 pages long. Yes, it will be adjusted. Yes, I will have to read the whole thing over again. Because I am a little pitiable, I will be posting art of the characters, snippets of my writing, and some lore! Yes, I do fully intend to publish this. It's been 7+ years in the making.
So what's this WIP about, and dear lord?
It's one of those getting-lost-in-another-world adventure stories, but with several twists and a significant spin on it. It's Wizard of Oz, Alice in Wonderland, Discworld, and Hitchhiker's all put in a blender. If that sounds horrible, imagine writing it! It follows the protagonist Mallory Noire, who is absolutely nobody and fairly rational, as she dodges cults worshipping eldritch horrors, deftly evades transdimensional fascist regimes, eludes the wizard bureaucracy, befriends mad scientists and attempts to survive a whole slew of other...improbable things. Its most major genres are horror, comedy, and surreal fantasy. I'll tag any posts related to it #misticity.
About Me, a Factor of Production!
I have a condition called anisocoria, and basically I'm blind in one eye! I have no idea what I'm missing though, so it's all good, and David Bowie has the same condition, although I was born with mine and he got punched in the face
I'm trans masc and I'm here to support you as well (all queer people)!
I most likely have Asperger's, as my father had it (formally diagnosed) and I display symptoms, but I have never been formally diagnosed myself
I lived in Germany for a year and can speak (abysmal) conversational German, but my native language is English
What Fandoms Am I In/Can You Talk to Me About?
Twin Peaks
Mob Psycho 100
Discworld
Good Omens
Control
RDR
Night Vale
The Magnus Archives
HLVRAI
Hitchhiker's Guide (is anyone out there?)
Any bad old movies. Any of them. I love those and I'm fairly well-versed
What Should You Ask Me About?
Anything, really. If you have any questions about the WIP, just shoot. I've left it pretty vague.
I also want to make this corner of the Internet into a safe place, and a safe place for other people, so if you're ever in need of an encouraging word or two I'm here! I get the feeling often, so I want to be here for people who feel the way I do.
The Just-in-Case Note
Feel free to correct me if I say something dumb or off. I want to stay openminded and learn from my mistakes.
Anyway, keep it shlunky

Dragon Age Inquisition actually is pushing SO many buttons for me right now. Non-consensual body modification. Forced into leadership. Puppet ruler. Being the new guy at work. Puppet ruler determined to hold and use ACTUAL power for themself to create good and meaningful change in the world. Taking a crisis and turning it into an opportunity. Diplomacy and working with people you can't stand. Sick outfits. Tall, muscular blonde women who could crack me open like a pumpkin, with men to match. Confronting your abusive homophobic family. Being leader-by-default-of "no one else wants to make a decision". Staring death in the face and meeting it head-on. Questioning religion and fate. Mysterious hermit who is a disgraced powerful magic user becoming an advisor to a young upstart. Healers attending your bedside. Ethical dilemmas. Cultic fanatics who are kind of justified. Alternative lifestyles that suggest there might be hope for the world after all. Slightly mad scientist (good). Magic users who are like "sweet! I have magic and wear light armor! I'm going to magic up a SWORD for myself and engage in melee combat!". Reckoning with incredible guilt. Fantasy that's just a bit sci-fi. Secret magical floating singing top hat in the sub-basement. Great views. Road trips. Time travel. Mysterious benefactor who is a demographic that my people are biased against so I have to vouch for them later. Somebody who was a huge asshole to me telling me that they were wrong and I'm valid, and then dying in very short order. Cool technology and architecture from multiple ancient civilizations. Getting to tell major political leaders that they work for you now. Climbing. Puzzles. Trans people (canon). Cave with a daylight forest in it. Cliffside village. Betrayal. Getting shoved against a wall and made out with. Getting shitfaced with your boyfriend after killing a dragon so you can give him a token of commitment. Grief. Doing nice things for people and building relationships. Telling the bad guy that if he wants the bomb so bad he can have it and then shoving it into his face. Going to a fancy ball and the best parts of it are that your friends are there and there's little party snacks, and your love interest comes out to check on you after the excitement is over. Getting to be nice to people who don't expect that. Gay-flirting with straight people; straight-flirting with gay people. Bears. Bisexuals. Tactical tree houses. Jungles of varying climate with ancient architecture that includes puzzles. Varric Tethras.
