What do you think of Gaea's new look? She really does look like an "old god" now.
She's kind of cute in a Man-Thing sort of way, also the little flower leaf bow on her head is adorable.
Tumblr media
Seriously speaking, I love it and it's probably one of my favorite looks for her. It's her original primordial God look and it's the harsh aspect of her that she chooses to show to her son and Thor is quite taken aback by it too which makes me think she has not showed this side of her since ancient times.
Some gods have different aspects or faces of themselves and Gaea is no different in that regard.

Pretty sure there's more looks for Gaea but really this is a character you can excuse looking different in every comic because she changes her look a lot.

My problem with the concept of Loki/Sigyn in any Marvel thing is because it would be just so lazy. In the myths and myth retellings it's fine, but in Marvel universes where the Norse gods coexist with aliens mutants wizards vampires spies soldiers atlanteans new yorkers and other such creatures that provide a diverse pool from which you can pluck a love interest to a norse god, you can only think of pairing him up with his canon wife from the myths that is only briefly mentioned? *Miranda Priestly voice* groundbreaking. Comic writers knew what they were doing when they created the mortal Jane to pair up with Thor because they knew just the norse god Sif would be a very un-dynamic choice to romance with another norse god. Loki is one of the most interesting characters to ever exist and Sigyn is painfully boring, he deserves someone as interesting as him to tell a good story. But Logyn shippers don't care about a good story and what Sigyn's reintroduction could add up to current Loki's themes and arc, they just want a self insert vessel to kiss Loki for them.
Mind you the marvel universe also has other gods from other mythologies,Thor has canonically spelt with the greek goddess of wind at some point, odin literally hooked up with the Greek goddess of earth/mother earth and produced Thor.
In a universe like this why hook Loki up with sigyn just she's his wife in norse mythology when you can hook them up with a god or goddess of Greek mythology or other mythologys?? Who actually has more history than just being Loki's partner? Like you know hercules for an example??who legit makes so much sense with Loki if you know about his history in marvel.

I almost thought he we got how Loki was made into existence with Thor
Tumblr media
But nope she can't possible be Loki's mom because she was killed days later by the dickhead Walmart avengers squad ( let's face it, most people don't even care for them and I find most of them annoying )
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Another thing that makes it impossible that this happened before Thor's birth.
Jason Aaron I honest to god don't give a shit who's Thor's mom to you . His biological birth mom is gaea and the mom who raised him is freyja to almost everyone in the comics Thor Fandom so regardless of who appeared in the end as Thor's mom dosen't really matter. Good thing he at least fixed some of his shit.
What I fucking want is who the fuck is Loki's mom. You can't just tell me she offed herself then show zero flashbacks and expect me to be happy with it. Come on do something creative with her. She's a female character that has zero backstory in the comics Canon you can do whatever you want with her without character assisination or anyone getting mad. Why instead butcher Odin, freyja and geae characters ?? For stupid plot no one actually asked for?
I literally for a second dared hope my headcanon that Loki is actually a hybrid breed of a frost gaint and something else was made Canon. BUT I can scratch shit enough and make up some weird biology shit to make Thor and Loki at least born in the same day in order for it to work so there is that.

Demiurge Primordial, the Godcreator!!
Thor Annual #10 (1982): In a primal time many eons ago when the Earth was still forming, the Demiurge (the incarnation of the power of creation) arose from the crackling energy of the planet's nascent biosphere!
Tumblr media
Silver Surfer Annual #2 (1989): The Demiurge seeded the newborn planet with its energies, giving rise to Earth's Elder Gods: Gaea (Mother Nature), the dark mystic Chthon, the serpentine Set, and the sorceress Oshtur!
Tumblr media
Thor Annual #10 (1982): However, when most of the other Elder Gods degenerated into demonic beings and began to destroy each other, the benevolent Gaea convinced the Demiurge to help her create Atum, the first of a new generation of gods!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Silver Surfer Annual #2 (1988): Atum attacked the demonic Elder Gods and absorbed their corrupted life forces, transforming him into the monstrous Demogorge!
Tumblr media
Thor Annual #10 (1982): After all of the demonic Elder Gods had either been destroyed or chased into other dimensions by the Demogorge, he purged the corrupted god energies from his body and reverted back to his Atum form, eventually retreating into Earth's sun.
Tumblr media
The History of the Marvel Universe #1 (2019): This god energy fell back to the Earth, where the nascent consciousness of mankind eventually tapped into it, giving rise to new pantheons of gods born in man's image.

If you want an idea of how both stupid and awful X-Men Green as a whole as been, allow me to summarize the most recent issue.
Gaea herself summons Lin Li/Nature Girl/Blackheath for what she does, explains how Curse's curse is still affecting her mind and offers a chance to help.
The curse causes Gaea's offer to be rejected, Gaea points it out, and lets Lin Li loose to do more damage.
END!
An entire arc where nothing was accomplished. Where the hope of changing things was teased, but then taken away.
X-Men Green relies entirely on outrage engagement, and as a webcomic it can justify its existence as such. For a digital comic, there is no difference between normal heat and "Go Away" heat.
Quite a clever trap they have set up.
I feel the urge to write them about it, but frankly, I know I won't get an answer, so why bother?
X-Men Green is bad.
And the editors who wanted to drag this ecoterrorist BS out further should feel bad.

DAWN OF THE ELDER GODS OF THE MARVEL UNIVERSE -- PRIMEVAL POWER INCARNATE.
PIC(S) INFO: Spotlight on the birth of the Elder Gods, Mother Gaea, Chthon, Set, and the direct ancestors of every Marvel god/deity thereafter, from the pages of "THOR" Annual Vol. 1 #10. October, 1982. Marvel Comics.

"The Demiurge aligned the evolving planet with the Celestial Axis... and then, in a burst of procreation, showered the Earth with sparks of its own life... seeding the primeval mud... vitalizing the inchoate soil... engendering the first forms of ethereal life which sprang full-grown from the ground -- beings who would be called Elder Gods -- beings like Chthon...
