I almost thought he we got how Loki was made into existence with Thor
Tumblr media
But nope she can't possible be Loki's mom because she was killed days later by the dickhead Walmart avengers squad ( let's face it, most people don't even care for them and I find most of them annoying )
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Another thing that makes it impossible that this happened before Thor's birth.
Jason Aaron I honest to god don't give a shit who's Thor's mom to you . His biological birth mom is gaea and the mom who raised him is freyja to almost everyone in the comics Thor Fandom so regardless of who appeared in the end as Thor's mom dosen't really matter. Good thing he at least fixed some of his shit.
What I fucking want is who the fuck is Loki's mom. You can't just tell me she offed herself then show zero flashbacks and expect me to be happy with it. Come on do something creative with her. She's a female character that has zero backstory in the comics Canon you can do whatever you want with her without character assisination or anyone getting mad. Why instead butcher Odin, freyja and geae characters ?? For stupid plot no one actually asked for?
I literally for a second dared hope my headcanon that Loki is actually a hybrid breed of a frost gaint and something else was made Canon. BUT I can scratch shit enough and make up some weird biology shit to make Thor and Loki at least born in the same day in order for it to work so there is that.

Not going to see Love & Thunder because I am done with the MCU, but I am going to make a post regarding “Jane as Thor” to MCU fans.
Don’t bother with the Jason Aaron Thor comic runs. They are not good. In fact they are rather bad.
His writing is so bad, it falls apart under basic scrutiny. He is all style and negative substance.
If you want good Thor comics, go with the JMS run. Much better entry-point for comics anyhow.

I hate how much I wish Loki didn't appear in anything pride month relate or anything really because now I'm just full with fear.
Like seriously three writers who haven't written Loki before are going to write him this month and I'm just really scared from all of them
And one of witch happen to read Jason Aaron's run the mighty valkyries. Which I don't know how to tell you is terrifying. Jason Aaron butchered Loki so hard.

While it hasn't been overtly referenced in this series, I appreciate Aaron's attention to detail with past continuity regarding Frank Castle's idealization of military heroes & authority figures such as Steve Rogers, aka Captain America, through visual allusion!
Tumblr media
The Punisher’s deep-seated admiration for Captain America (primarily to both characters being war veterans) has been a long-established aspect of Frank’s character that’s been heavily referenced by past writers. Most notably in the Civil War crossover event by Mark Millar, which features an extended sequence of the Punisher refusing to fight back as an enraged Captain America brutally beats him down in retaliation for the former gunning down several supervillains aligned with the Pro-Registration side.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Except while Steve is a paragon of virtue who embodies the ideals that America is supposed to represent instead of what the country actually is, as a child Frank was willing to bastardize the image of Captain America to enact his own murderous brand of vigilante violence against criminals without any consideration for due process or potential for rehabilitation.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Essentially, for as much the Punisher claims to deeply respect & admire Captain America, Frank embodies the same fascistic "might-makes-right" beliefs that Steve has spent his entire life actively opposing!
From Punisher (2022) #2, 3, 4 & #11, by Jason Aaron, Jesús Saiz & Paul Azaceta, and Civil War (2006) #6 by Mark Millar & Steve McNiven.

Gretchen Wieners is 100% Queer: An Analysis
Spoilers for the 2024 Movie!!!!
Analysis under cut!!!
Tumblr media
Exhibit A: Her One-sided Crush on Regina
Her solo song (What's Wrong With Me) is very much just a love song. The lyrics are very much blaming herself for her just because she loves Regina too much to blame her. It's a song of unrequited love, and how she is fully aware she's being used. But she won't do anything because it's the Regina George.
If you're still unconvinced, here are the lyrics of Gretchen's song compared to Aaron's (Regina's ex boyfriend) song:
Gretchen:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Aaron:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As you can see, the lyrics are very similar. Aaron sticks to Regina because he actually likes her and wants to impress her. Guess what Gretchen also does...
Not only are these musical numbers back to back on the soundtrack, they are about the same person and their relationship with the singer. This could be pure coincidence but I do have other points to make besides the songs.
Such as this scene:
Tumblr media
In the actual show, Gretchen is actually flattered by what Regina said. And she actually takes it to heart. The only reason why she told Regina about Cady's crush on Aaron was because she was slowly replacing her, and she got jealous.
Exhibit B: Jason Weems
Before we start, this is about their toxic relationship which I do not support and I'm only using for an example. And if you try to argue that they aren't toxic and are just a couple that has a lot of playful banter. The 2024 movie changes her love interest as she sees Jason as sleezy.
Gretchen likes Jason in the movie and that goes for the rest of the adaptations by Tina Fey.
But why?
Jason always cheats on her and hits on any girl he sees. Yet Gretchen keeps going back to him. It's assumed that he only does this to make Gretchen jealous. But he already has her wrapped around his finger, so why bother. Maybe he's just good at pleasing her, but that's not the case.
In a deleted scene in 2004 Mean Girls, Karen and Gretchen have a conversation about Jason. Gretchen saying it's 'the night for [her] and Jason' for Karen to say that they've already done it twice. But Gretchen says that tonight she's going to 'like it'.
This means, the two other times they've had sexual interactions she didn't like having it with him. And why she didnt like it goes unexplained. This ties back to Regina. Like Regina, Jason ignores Gretchen a lot. Much as far as to step over her at Cady's party in the movie when she falls to the floor while drunk. Yet Gretchen still craves attention from him and expects calls and texts back.
She has only shown this behavior toward Jason and two other character. Those characters are Regina and Cady. She yearns for Regina's attention while she's queen bee. When she and Karen go to another room, Gretchen asks to be let in. This leads to the 'What's Wrong With Me' musical number. She loves being with Regina and treasures every little interaction, even if it's through a door.
Now, when Cady is queen bee, she does the same thing. She asks her to make plans so they can hang out. And when she refuses, she uses Cady's crush (Aaron) as a reason to make plans. She's desperate to hang out with Cady and is at her every beck and call.
This could just be Gretchen sucking up to authority, but it's still very similar to how she is with Jason, her on-and-off boyfriend.
Exhibit C: Her Questionable Relationship With Karen
In every adaptation, Gretchen seems to always have a positive relationship with Karen. Which is the only character within the Mean Girls universe she has a positive relationship with (unless you count the Walmart ads as lore and consider her husband to be a character). They have many scenes to the point that TV Tropes considers them to be 'Heterosexual Life-Partners'.
Link:
But from what we know, the two don't have a set love interest. Unlike Cady and Regina who are Betty and Veronica to Aaron's Archie. Their onscreen relationships go as follows from the movie-musical-movie musical
Gretchen: Jason (movie), no one (musical), Kevin (movie musical)
Karen: Seth (kind of), no one, unnamed theater boy
These two do not have a set relationship with boys. Guess which other character this applies to.
Janis Ian or any other variation of her last name.
Janis was only written as straight once. In the 2004 movie with Kevin G. The other adaptations however...
In the musical, her sexuality is left ambiguous but she's single by the start and end of it. And BWW, her Broadway actress, says that she played Janis as queer. Then in the 2024 movie, she's a canonical lesbian and takes her girlfriend to Spring Fling. Meaning that Janis' relationship adaptations looks like this:
Janis: Kevin, no one, unnamed girlfriend
This is very similar to Gretchen and Karen's adaptations relationships. And when we consider how Tina wrote most of these adaptations we can conclude that Janis was at least queer when she first wrote her. And the same should go for Gretchen and Karen.
And the musical and 2024 movie put some interesting moments between them.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This isn't even the half of it, I've heard they've done a gay thigh touch in some productions.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Mind you, the second photo was during Spring Fling after dumping Jason.
As you can see they don't exactly have a straight relationship. Not to say they both are gay and should have been canon in the 2024 movie hahahahaha.. But the two have very obvious chemistry and love each other. Whether platonic or romantic.
And in an interview, Avantika, Karen's 2024 actress, says that Karen is pansexual. And from this analysis, we can say that at the very least Gretchen is some form of queer. Whether it's bi, pan, unlabeled, or even if you headcanon her as lesbian and think of Jason as her beard.
At the end of the day, it's your decision to believe me or not. But it is 3:09 right now (sorry for any typos), and I've been meaning to make this post ever since I saw the 2024 movie in theaters.
Remember, this is all analysis through a queer lens. You can still think of her as straight, or think of the adaptations having different sexuality. I don't want to force what I think onto anyone that they don't believe in. This is just a post by a silly gay person.

I want to hear your thoughts on Aarmau. It's low-key become a fixation for me because everyone has their own wildly different takes and yet they're all the same take somehow and I for one would love to hear what you have to say on the matter
Okay I'm sorry for my inconsistent posts recently, life's been crazy and whatnot. But I def wanted to respond to this.
AARMAU CAN SUCK MY BALLS
I think my hatred mostly comes from how much I love laurance 🤤 and just how Aaron's character was written in MCD. It's so obvious that Aaron stole all of Laurance's planned plotpoints. Having the endgame with Aph, sacrificing himself for Garroth and returning as Shad's host. That whole plot would've gone so much better if Jason hadn't butted in because he was jealous of blocks.
I think Aaron's character CAN be written well. Therefore, Aarmau can be written well. I love Aarmau in Mystreet. Mind you I haven't watched it in years. I think Phoenix Drop High is so weird. The age gap is so so uncomfy, but I like how Aaron's personality is written, probably the best out of all the series. I like dorky anti-social Aaron who's still this protective and strong guy. It goes well with Aphmau's personality throughout all of the series.
It's just so hard for me to get on the Aarmau train, because of the way Aaron was brought into the series, and all the havoc it has wreaked onto my favorite characters and plots. However, I don't think Aarmau should be erased. I think it should've been written differently. I love both of the characters, and they have so much potential to be great. I just think they need to be taken care of by better writers.

seventeen as mean girls, a concept
i just think seventeen has enough flair and drama to be pulling off the entire cast of the mean girls movie
BSS as the plastics
seungkwan: regina george. he has all the flair and he wants all the drama. that’s HIS burn book! he fits the description perfectly, since he’s fabulous but evil.
“get in loser. we’re going shopping.”
also the idea that seungkwan would be the person to
“you can take that fake apology, and shove it right up your hairy—“ [gets hit by a bus]
it just fits
hoshi: gretchen. his dad invented toaster strudel. tiger flavor. doesn’t even have to make sense bc he’s so rich. hoshi’s hair is so big bc it’s full of secrets
“gretchen, stop trying to make horanghae fetch happen. it’s not going to happen!”
deekay: karen. who else would hold their boobs and tell the weather??? *holds* it’s sunny. and it works every time. it’s like he has espn or something
“do you wanna do something fun? do you wanna go to taco bell?”
honestly cady would probably be dino, but the possibly of vernon being cady is just too funny to pass up.
vernon: im from africa
deekay: so if ur from africa… then why are u white
hoshi: oh my god dk… u can’t just ask people why they’re white
vernon: cady. a very funny twist on the new girl from africa. like wdym you don’t wear a whole zombie bride costume to the slutty halloween party?
the only thing historically accurate about dino being cady would be the beef between her and regina (seungkwan), but that’s just semantics
(plus the comedic value of having vernon as cady far outweighs the realistic plot benefits of dino as cady)
jeonghan: regina’s mom. “you’re doing great sweetie!” like who else would encourage all of seungkwan’s bad habits so naturally? just one camcorder video at a time… also gets his tits chewed off by a chihuahua #rip
joshua: aaron samuels. absolutely heartthrob. aaron literally is just smart and sporty but also lives with his mom and spends most of his time helping her at home. this is literally just josh. our fav church oppa
jun: janis. just the chic cool vibes. just like a very cute and lovely janis. also lesbian
mingyu: damian. too gay to function? yeah, that’s him. he will never defeat the gay allegations. and he wants his pink shirt back!!! he wants his pink shirt back!!!!!!
seungcheol: glen coco. just received 4 candy canes from santa!damian (mingyu) for doing absolutely nothing. you go glen coco!
also seungcheol: ms. norbury — but only because he would probably escalate the situation instead of diffusing it.
woozi: mr. duvall (the principal) bc his main trait is having a crush on ms. norbury and being anti-slut/whore-shaming. also has carpal tunnel syndrome??? so on-brand
-
more but just for shits and giggles:
also mingyu: jason. bc ofc he and gretchen (hoshi) would have a rocky relationship
mingyu: is your muffin buttered?
vernon: what
mingyu: would u like us to assign someone that will butter your biscuit
vernon: my what.
seungkwan: is he bothering you? mingyu why are you such a skeez?
hoshi: you were supposed to call me last night
bc the mingyu x hoshi beef will still continue into the mean girls universe
minghao as the lady who tells regina (seungkwan) her dress doesn’t fit and she needs to go to a different store → “u should try sears☺️”
wonwoo as regina’s dad that comes out only once and it’s him crying at regina’s halloween costume
dino as the bus driver that hits regina george (seungkwan)
-
everything about this to me is so funny

Actually Im not done
Hiring Jason Aaron for the limited Namor run is not only a punch to the gut for Namor fans but to people who had to endure his garbage runs for Thor and Avengers. He's pissed off fans in both those groups because he has 0 clue of the existing lore/character drives and histories then claims he is 'reinventing' them. Using human feces instead of butter and cocoa in a brownie recipe isn't 'reinventing' brownies just because the end product somewhat LOOKS like a brownie. Even his nonIP runs are rife with issues regarding plot threads just being left behind, poor dialogue writing, poor characterizations and I dont need to even bring up the racism because honestly I don't even know where to begin with that and another prominent Namor blogger here has the fucking bead on his ass for it better than I do.
This happened when comic publishers kept bringing in Ennis and Moore to 'reinvent' certain IPs. Only thing is I somewhat LIKE some of Alan Moore and even Garth Ennis' solo works (I will rant about them on a different time but now I'm too busy beating Jason Aaron to death like an enraged male chimpanzee).
Namor only occasionally gets a spotlight- BP:WF helped to bring him back into the spotlight which is both good an bad for equal measures. Namor is one of the most bastardized characters in the Marvel Lineups- he was a villain, he was an anti-hero, he was a stand in for POC for xenophobic reasons, he was a standin for POC for less sinister reasons, he's been royalty, he's been a monster, he's been a mutant- Namor has been so much in the time he has been in comics that the only way to 'reinvent him' is to toss all his history away and make him into something that is basically a weird OC in Namor packaging. Which Jason basically admitted he was going to do. He said he was going to 'break down and rebuild' Namor, putting him in a coma on the leaked cover. It feels like an excuse to abuse a character of color because that seems to be Jason's fucking fetish.
I have so few people to discuss comics with, less so when I sort of left the sphere of it for personal reasons, but the people I've seen talk about it are all in agreement this is a bad idea. Marvel hasn't made a good decision in a very, very long time though (them sort of soft-retiring Ethnostate Krakoa is somewhat the start of a good decision but the rest of the Xmen comic run currently is a fucking mess EVEN FOR XMEN STANDARDS).
I dunno. Im mad. Im upset. And there is nothing I can do about it.

Oh gods all the terrible She-hulk opinions, "fandom feminists" bringing up Jason Aaron's version as a positive. Disgusting
So many people who don’t read comics trying to bring their shitting opinions.

In a keynote speech to a gathering of Christian nationalist lawmakers Tuesday night, House Speaker Mike Johnson compared himself to Moses, leading the GOP conference — and America — through the parted waters of the Red Sea.
Johnson addressed the National Association of Christian Lawmakers at the group’s award gala at the Museum of the Bible in Washington, D.C. Perhaps unaware that the event was being recorded for the NACL Facebook page, Johnson told the crowd: “I’ll tell you a secret, since media is not here.” (“Thank you for not allowing the media in,” Johnson added, alleging that journalists have been taking his comments “out of context” with “great joy for the last few weeks.”)
Johnson then revealed that — in the lead up to the “tumult” of Kevin McCarthy losing his gavel and the chaotic GOP process of selecting new Speaker — he had been speaking directly to God. “Look, I’m a Southern Baptist, I don’t wanna get too spooky on you,” he said, provoking some laughter from the attendees. “But, you know, the Lord speaks to your heart.”
The message he received from God, Johnson said, was to prepare for a “Red Sea moment” — both for the Republican conference “and in the country at large.” Johnson said found the directive confusing but he continued to seek the counsel of God.
“The Lord began to wake me up, through this three-week process, in the middle of night to speak to me,” Johnson insisted. “Now at the time,” he continued, “I assumed the Lord is going to choose a new Moses.” But because of his own lesser rank among the GOP’s leadership, Johnson said, he believed the heavenly message to be: “You’re gonna allow me to be Aaron to Moses,” citing the role of the Old Testament prophet’s brother and biblical sidekick.
But then Johnson watched as candidate after candidate failed to generate the necessary Republican support to win the Speakership. “Ultimately 13 people ran for the post. And the Lord kept telling me to, ‘Wait, wait, wait,’” Johnson recalled. “So I waited, I waited. And then at the end … the Lord said, ‘Now step forward.’” Johnson regaled the audience with his surprise to be tapped as the Moses figure: “Me?” Johnson said. “I’m supposed to be Aaron.” But that was not the message, Johnson insisted, recalling: “‘No,’ the Lord said, ‘Step forward.’”
Johnson’s speech to the National Association of Christian Lawmakers — a group that seeks to enact its anti-abortion and anti-LGBTQ “biblical worldview” into law — is just the latest evidence that the politician who is now second in line for the presidency views himself as on a divine mission. Rolling Stone previously reported on Johnson’s exhortations to save a “depraved” America from God’s wrath and vengeance.
Johnson told the NACL crowd that his “core conviction” that “God wants us to seek Him for the path through the roiling sea.” The Speaker then underscored his pessimism about the state of the nation, asserting that America is facing the “greatest collection of challenges since maybe World War II, maybe the Civil War.”
America, Johnson insisted, is “engaged in a battle between worldviews” and “a great struggle for the future of the Republic.” The specifics of that struggle remained unspoken. But the NACL mission, according to materials promoting the gala, includes: “abolishing abortion”; restoring “traditional marriage between one man and one woman”; and “exposing the ungodly effort to undermine our culture by Leftists,”. Johnson added that he believed far-right Christians will prevail: “We should not be daunted. In the face of these challenges. Our hope is in the Lord, our hope, and our trust is in God.”
At the gala, Johnson was awarded with NACL’s “American Patriot Award for Christian Honor and Courage.” It was bestowed to recognize what the group’s leader, former Arkansas state Rep. Jason Rappert, described as Johnson’s “statesmanship, bold Christian leadership, and faithful service to our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Avengers #57 was not only failure, but a refusal to represent vital Romani history in spite of the identities-- and stereotypes-- it invoked.
Tumblr media
As Jason Aaron’s Avengers expands the history and mythology of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, readers have been introduced to several new characters from several different time periods. Issue #57 introduced us to Sergeant Sebastian Szardos, an American military officer who had a brief tenure as Earth’s Sorcerer Supreme during World War II. Sebastian is a distant relative of Margali Szardos, who most readers will remember as Nightcrawler’s adoptive mother. The Szardos family are, notably, Romani, and like most Romani characters in superhero comics, they have deep ties to witchcraft and mysticism.
Sebastian makes frequent reference to his Romani ancestry, but rather than identifying as Roma, Rom, or even g*psy, he simply claims to have “witch blood.” What’s more, the character is fighting literal German Nazis, but the comic makes no mention of the fact that the Nazis actively attempted to commit genocide against the Romani people during the Holocaust-- something which should color Sebastian’s viewpoints and motives regarding the war.
Tumblr media
Why does this matter? For one thing, the Szardos family already have a number of racially charged, problematic elements in their narrative, so doubling down on these exaggerated stereotypes is not a great look. More importantly, however, Holocaust distortion and the erasure of Romani history are serious, ongoing problems in the real world that still cause actual harm today.
Romani people are constantly being written out of Holocaust and WWII history. The European Romani population was targeted for ethnic cleansing, interned, and executed in camps. Families, like mine, were separated and many had to go into hiding. We suffered enormous losses, but you almost never hear about it in history books, memorials, or even present day news coverage. [compare this article vs this one] In the UK, recent legislation has all but outlawed Traveler and Romani ways of life, but the majority population fails to understand that we are a marginalized and oppressed community. History refuses to name and acknowledge anti-Roma racism, and historical narratives refuse to give voice to Roma who were present and suffering during pivotal moments such as the Holocaust.
Tumblr media
Margali Szardos, who first appeared in 1980′s X-Men Annual #4, was a single mother who was able to raise three children by working as a fortune teller. She’s also a practicing witch. That, in and of itself, is not an unrealistic story. Fortune telling has, historically, served as a survival-based trade for Romani families, especially women who were unable to seek more conventional jobs. Witchcraft and folk medicine fall into a similar category, and so Romani witch characters like Margali are not necessarily false or offensive. The problem here is that Margali wasn’t written as a Romani woman with an authentic witchcraft background-- she was written as a witch whose Romani background serves only to add exotic flavor to her story. When you add the fact that Margali is often morally bankrupt, and there’s a lot of weird colorism happening with her biological kids, the material poses a lot of problems that no writer has ever really tried to fix.

Making this post moreso for mutuals so they don't tag me in Batfam x Atsv posts that have Jason with Hobie as eachother's counterparts and then feel bad when i say i hate that concept but i really need to get it off my chest that i find it REALLY annoying and basic when superhero fans assume they'd be the duo.Yeah, obviously they'd be close friends, but sorry not sorry,if y'all bothered to read Jason's comics or pay any mind to Hobie as a whole instead of just the 'he's a punk dude' bits, you'd know that A)Hobie would think Jason's an absolute cringelord, not look up to him or immediately respect him and Jason'd have to proof himself to him and that B)Jason's Spiderfam bestie wouldn't be anyone other than Miles and same goes for Miles' Batfam bestie not being anyone other than Jason LMFAO.He's literally him when he was Robin so that'd be enough of a reason to instantly like him but on Miles' end Jason's basically Itsv!Peter B Parker with Aaron Davis' alignment so same logic but there's also how Jason's canonically a classical literature nerd and gamer,Miles' an artist and anime fan, they have the same taste in fast/junk food and flirting tactics and their lives both went to shit because the universe said so when they were 15.Also,Talia Al-Ghul and Rio Morales have the same vibe and you can quote me on that and i think if the comics had given Jason a 56 Gwen-adjacent love interest who was afrolatina then a lot of the problems in his writing would be fixed
Speaking of which-Have you guys not noticed how Miles is so good at making people better without even really trying and thus not at the cost of his own arcs or real personality and is instead just an aspect of him?Or how he's been shown as enjoying hanging out with older people, with even Gwen having a year on him?Or how Miles G literally has the Red Hood Era storyline(Sunshine softboy as a kid but turned into a goth asshole to cope with trauma and additional an anti-villain/vigilante/morally gray)? To throw some shade i know for a fact he makes a more fitting best friend and younger sibling for Jason than Roy Harper,Marinette Dupain-Cheng AND Danny Fenton do,the first for reasons i've said already, the last two because he'd never fuck with Bruce Wayne in his life and just knows him as that fakeout furry rich guy his older brother figure roasts sometimes and cons money out of to buy him gifts
And Jason would have someone he can geek out with and relate to for once and have legit reasons to want to turn good again because Miles made him see the good in the world again and at the same time Miles got taught to stop feeling for failing at things he tried his best at and that he can always just try again in different ways but always his own thing and Miles makes Jason feel like a kid again and Jason treats Miles like he's still a kid since HE IS and-Man,you see what i mean? They'd have the most interesting dynamic ever and frankly i think we all deserve to see it instead of 'He was a punk,he was also a punk, can i make it anymore obvious?'BLEHGH!!!!
Also, just cause i want to be able to tag this as Punkflower:
Hobie:Your guy's really hot
Jason:WHAT?!Bruh,Miles' like my brother!
Hobie:Your brother's really hot.And now i got a scooby doo on how there's no blood relation
