Howdy! So I realized that there is an issue with having a POV character that doesn’t think to talk much of themselves, the reader can miss out on some details! So I wanted to remedy this with this little post. 

If any of this catches your eye and intrigues you, please feel free to click this link and be taken to where the story is! Also, I’m always down to info-dump about the story and the blorbos within, my asks are open! (I’d also be down to like do those Ask a Character things, I think it’d be neat but no pressure obviously)

So without further ado let us get a better understanding of the POV character from my story Rituals And Red Tape - Alex!

Name: Alex (They/Them/It)

Wait, what is a Dreamer?

A Dreamer is an inhabitant of the reality known as Hypnasomnia/Hypnosomnia( combination of the world Hypnagogic- that space between being awake and asleep where you can still perceive things and Insomnia- a chronic sleep disorder; the different spellings are dialectic) which is a reality created by the enigmatic Board (formerly known as The Collective) for unknowable reason and accessed by accident. When (specifically) a human goes to sleep there is a very small, but not 0, percent chance that a part of them will fall through what can be considered a crack between these two realities, becoming severed and separated. This piece that slips away is a small kernel of the essence of that person(their ego) but in the most fundamental way. To not bog us down with a whole lesson (I can do that later if people are interested lol) the main take away from what a Dreamer is is; they are beings of pure cognition. They have no need for a body or any of the things that go along with that, but it’s hard to interact with reality if you are just a thinking thing. So Dreamer bodies are mutable. So when I go to describe Alex, know that their clothing is also a part of them (think like the crystal gems in Steven Universe), and also descriptions are based on their usual appearance. Also they may have an origin from a human and when they first arrive they have an idea and memories of that life, those soon are taken/fade away.

Give them deets-

Physical Description:

 Whether it is intentional or not Alex often looms over their coworkers; while most Dreamers tend to keep around an average 5-6ft(1.5 -2.0 meters), Alex (when not slouched over) stands at around 7.5ft (2.3m). 

Their primary form is that of a robed hooded figure. To touch their robes you would feel material that was somewhere between cotton and silk, sturdy but also it does flow and wave in the breeze (also as stated their clothes are also them so they would feel your touch), they are warm to the touch but warm like a not-quite room-temp coffee. 

This robe is often a very deep purple but this can, like all things, be altered; their robes do also respond to strong emotions (like turning red in anger/embarrassment or fading in distress). Along the edges of the hood and sleeves are two thick lines of golden trimming; one at the very edge and the other an inch or so above that, set between are cuneiform like letterings/symbols what they say is unknown…if they even say anything at all.

Their “hands” and by extension “arms” are more recognizable as humanoid. Black voids in the shape of hands and such parts. At both times completely flat but yet depth and shape can be perceived. Each hand sports a set of four slender fingers and a thumb. No word on feet.

Under their hood is a similar black void that looks much deeper than it should be. In this space is where you can spy their “face”. More akin to an illustration of facial features in a rich teal, neither male nor female, wholly androgynous. Wrinkles, stress lines, and bags under the eyes are all present. 

Locomotion is an equal parts walking/shuffling on unseen feet or hovering an inch or so off the ground.

They tend to have horrible posture; slouching and “shrimping”.

Personality:

They have the personality of a very overworked and overtired IT person/Park Ranger. Willing to cut corners if it means less paperwork, but still follows the rules to a T when needed. Equally likely to let you off with a warning or recite from memory the exact passage and ruling that you are in violation of. When in work mode they can be quite dry and short with you, maybe a little rude if they find your mistake/rule breaking done more out of incompetence than ignorance. In the amount of time they’ve been working they have fallen into the trap of forgetting not everyone knows the rules front to back like them.

When not out in the field they have a more relaxed way about them, though still coming across as cold/distant. They will gladly engage in some light office shenanigans, sit in the break room bitching with you, or just make idle chit-chat. They often try and delay going back out in favor of these moments, since they don’t often have a chance to actually just exist in their own way. When alone you can sometimes hear them grumbling to themselves about a recent/particularly annoying assignment or how they “just want a vacation”.

Outside of work they enjoy getting together with their friends Greg and Andrea for some drinks or going out. They are a part of the recreational summoning club, though they don’t get to attend often. Long walks on the town and in the forest are their big go-to’s though, sure they get out a lot but they don’t really get to just be in a place. Boiling it down, when they don’t have to work, they enjoy activities where they can mostly linger and unwind.

So in essence: very much a “don’t talk to me until I’ve had my coffee” but when they have that coffee, a decent work buddy.

You keep saying job and boss, but they look like a cultist-

Good eye, they are. So once again to not completely bog this down with extra info I’ll cover the important points. The long and short of it is; The Board runs this reality through their cults. These cults are more akin to a department in a large corporation, with each head cultist being a Manager. This is all thanks to the very first Dreamer but we do not have time for that! Most employees are assigned a uniform to wear but managers are allowed to take the form they please (perks of being the favorite of the Boss). This is just the form that Alex is most comfortable in.

So what exactly do they do?-

Alex is the head of the Auditing department, so they take on the larger scale…problems. The auditing department exists to make sure rules of reality do not go unfixed for too long and also to try and stop them from happening in the first place. They(the department as a whole) are the kind of go-to’s for when stuff is going wonky. An all in one problem fixer department, hence the wording of IT to Park Ranger. Also because of this, most everyone in the department is way overworked.

Meet The Character: Lunys Aizenot

I finally remembered to do this. This is probably going to be very long so I have provided a read-more for your convenience

🌙~🦋 Basic Info 🦋~🌙

Name: Lunys Aizenot (Lunys) Age: 14 Birthday: March 26th, 2108 (Using the start date of Futurepunk [Feb 12th 2123], the RP ny's for, as reference) Pronouns: Ny/Nym/Nys/Nymself Orientation: Gay + Demi-Sexual Discord Tag: Lunar Moth #37153 (*This is fictional I did not make nym an actual account don't even try it)

🌙 ~ Physical Characteristics ~ 🌙

First important thing, ny's a robot! Not just any robot, but an.. Android? Whatever term you use to refer to a robot which is supposed to look like a human. With fake skin and hair, ny even feels like a real human. The next important, and definitely more obvious (to the other characters), thing is that ny is only 4 feet tall. Ny also has a cloak, a shirt with the logo of nys favorite band (Aiz-Eclise, which is totally made up), and a giant hammer that is at least the size of nys body, possibly even taller... Describing appearances is hard, here's a picture

🦋~ Personality ~🦋

I've only just started playing nym so personality is subject to a lot of changes. Ny is very much an extrovert, befriending basically everybody ny meets. In fact ny's probably the reason the party ends up being friends lol. Ny tends to be friendly, but has a definite sarcastic snarky side which can come out at any moment. This hasn't been shown in rp yet, but ny also sometimes has a weirdly mysterious and possibly even wise mystic side.

As previously mentioned, Lunys is only 4 feet tall. Very small

Very importantly, ny is completely blind. Cannot see absolutely anything at all. Yes most blind people can still kinda see like, the light level or something, but Lunys gets nothing. Somebody forgot to make nys eyes work I suppose

Lunys has weird moon and moth related powers

Because of this, nys favorite animal is moths, and ny loves the moon and space in general

Ny loves listening to music, favorites include Aiz-Eclise, but also P!atD, Set it Off, and Cepheid. Of course, ny will also listen to almost anything you give nym

Magic color is green

Ny has a sister named Cloe

Nys dream is to explore the world

Nys parents are... Questionable decency at best. I could elaborate more, but unfortunately that is a mystery to be solved later and the other people in my RP Group follow me on here so. Oops.

Nys theme song is Catch Wind

This is also nys favorite song, with In Hell We Live, Lament being a close second

Ny actually has a bit of interest in biology, mostly Entomology (insects)

Meet: John "Soap" Mactavish (Reboot)

Appears in Call of Duty Warzone, Call of Duty Warzone 2.0, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2019, and Call of Duty Modern Warfare II 2022 (and Call of Duty Mobile)

There are two separate versions of the character Soap, one from the classic Modern Warfare timeline, and another from the reboot. Both are fan favorites. There are some major differences between the two characters, making them distinct.

Soap, or Johnny MacTavish is a man from Scotland, a country in the United Kingdom. Knowing that Ghost is 6'4" (1.93m/193 cm) and Classic Soap is 6'2" (1.88m/188cm), Reboot Soap appears to be underneath that original height, and is noticeably quite a shorter character compared to the rest of taskforce 141. He has dark brown hair, and blue eyes.

This Soap is primarily in the Modern Warfare Reboot Timeline, with his counterpart being from the Modern Warfare Classic Timeline.

Johnny MacTavish's first appearance is in Warzone (1).

MacTavish had been trying to join the SAS since he was 16 by lying about his age until the British Military let him at least join the 22 Regiment at age 18. His evaluator ended up being Captain Price, who saw potential in Johnny. He noted mostly Soap's unmatched dedication.

His intense speed and accuracy in clearance as well as urban warfare gave him the nickname Soap, Price saying he wipes places clean. As a member of SAS, Soap is proficient in sniping and demolition. He was let in as the youngest SAS member in British history. He works as a Sergeant in SAS and taskforce 141.

Soap is known to be loyal, and indebts himself to people who save his life. He can be incredibly hot headed, and vengeful when not under check. His resourcefulness is second Ghost

Ghost and Soap share both a strong rivalry and eventually friendship. They are notably closer to each other compared to the other members of taskforce 141, Ghost being the only person allowed to refer to Soap as Johnny. He's also self-indebted to Price, and loyally follows the man's command, after all the man is his mentor. Soap is very dedicated to his allies in Taskforce 141, and Los Vaqueros.

His unnamed cousin plays an important role in his heart, having gone into the military due to the man showing him what he does in the SAS.

Special Notes on Appearance: Hyzenthlay has heterochromia, meaning she has two different colored eyes. Her right eye is the soft pink of the sun rise whereas her left eye is the dark teal, blue of the sunset. Those of her tribe say it is because she is the blessed child of dawn and dusk. That if it weren’t for the blessing of the Dawn Father and Dusk Mother she would not have been born.

Personality: Hyzenthlay is a compassionate, kind-hearted young woman who is open about her feelings, wears her heart on her sleeve if you will. There is also the misconception that Hyzenthlay is delicate, damsel who couldn’t lift a sword, let alone knock a man over with a single punch. But she is tougher than she looks and is not afraid to show it. She can be naïve, innocent in away of Eorzean culture, more particular the courting habits of Eorzea. That she would take many words to heart on what Eorzean men prefer in a woman.

Favorite food/drinks: Ishgardian style tea, Shorlog (meat skewers) and boiled eggs (thanks egg emote)

Favorite color: Surprisingly her favorite color isn’t pink, it is teal.

Likes: Hyzenthlay always loves to learn knew things. Even if she isn’t any good at the craft or art she is willing to try it once (healing in particular is one of her weakest talents). She enjoys reading, though her Eorzean is weak, with Thancred reading to her she could listen to whatever tome he is reading for hours. Her most favorite is when he slips into his Limsa accent. It doesn’t come out often, but she loves it when it does.

Dislikes: When she has failed to protect those she holds dear, she had already lost so many friends, she cannot bare to lose anymore. If she could avoid bodies of water she would for she cannot swim (Leviathan solidified her fear of large bodies of water), thankfully with Thancred teaching her how to swim soon after Leviathan she is more confident with swimming, but if she could avoid it she will. Morbols (Malboros). Need I say more?

Quirks: Eorzean (common? Whatever the equivalent of English in this universe) is her second language she often struggles with words and mispronounces them or completely make a new name for it (example: Limsa Lominsa she instead said it as Limsa Mimosa). She is very self-conscious of it, thus why she is often perceived as quiet when she doesn’t want mess up any words. She does somewhat grow out of it, but it does pop up every so often.

His state of mind is cold, calculative and self-protective. He doesn't care about morality much, his only concern is having nervesous system intact. He is harsh on those who he doesn't consider valuable, he might settle on a compromise if it will benefit the state of mind

Waking up with a cat on your chest in the woods isn't a normal first memory buts thats Bones' one. He was found by Moss and Yuffie soon after and they cared for and helped him learn, relearn?, to talk write and other things. He's a fighter but dreams of becoming a paladin. Though due to his nature he isn't allowed to.

He tries his best to be helpful...but he doesn't always know his strength...or clumsiness. He's got a heart of gold and would always help his friends
