“Coryo,” you whine, your lips forming a small pout as you look at the blonde man. Coryo rolled his eyes at you when you didn't notice it. He didn't understand the point of festivals he was asked to join though he did appreciate the cultural aspect of it all.

Your house was getting decorated with flowers and whatnot, each servant and family member busy perfecting everything for the holud ceremony being held in your house.

Coryo sighed when you whine his name again in the same bratty tone (the one he wished to fuck out of you). “I will do no such thing,” Coryo said, “It's improper, you're not a child.”

The pout doesn't leave your lips and it takes every ounce of his self-control not to lean forward and kiss you. “Please!” You requested, “Come on, yaar! I haven't eaten anything since morning!” “And that's not on me,” Coriolanus replied simply.

You huff like the spoiled brat you are. “Fine!” You said, standing up from your seat, “I'll ask Sejanus!” “He will understand the struggle, the henna will take time to dry.” You add, now close to walking past him and outside the bedroom to find Sej.

“Sit down,” Snow said, his eyes flashing in anger but his eyes cold. Despite a hint of alarm flashes in your mind, you knew he gave in to you. Coriolanus didn't like being challenged, the fact you were going to Sejanus. You knew he wouldn't like that, even if you aren't his girlfriend but just a friend (for now) he would be jealous nonetheless.

You grin in triumph and get back to your seat. In front of you was a small table and a tray filled with various plates of food. Specifically, a dessert that you want to try right now but are unable to due to the wet henna tattoos on your hands. His eyes flicker to the patterns you had drawn on your skin, various patterns seemingly meaningless yet so damn pretty. He knows that the result will turn out great and will only make you much prettier, too pretty for his sanity to survive.

He sits down beside you, picking up a bowl with what looks like carrots but he never saw anything like it before. Seeing his confusion, you explained, leaning towards sarcasm near the end, “It's Gajoer Halua, a carrot-based sweet dessert. Now please bless me and feed me, Coryo.”

He chuckles, feeling amused by your behavior, unable to help himself as he replies “Why should I? You're not deserving of blessings. You're a brat.” A brat he will take soon enough, no doubt on that. You rolled your eyes, “Pretty please, or else I'll smear all of this,” you flicked your eyes at your mehndi-covered palms (henna), “all over your damn face.”

If it was someone else, he would have thought it was teasing or bluffing but you? Yeah, you definitely would do it if he continued to drag this out any longer. He takes a spoonful of the vibrant orange dessert, he has the urge to coo you to open your mouth like one would to a child. But he was above that silliness so he said nothing, his eyes cool despite the fact his heart seemed to be going haywire when you leaned in to eat. You wink at him as you taste the halwa on your tongue, the sweetness dancing in your mouth.

“That's a good boy,” you grin, “Thank you, Coryo.”

‘Fuck. Fuck. Fuck,’ Coryo thinks, as a blush emerges on his cheeks from the praise. He shouldn't like the way you said it, a tad bit degrading but a compliment nonetheless. He shouldn't like that he wants to hear more thank yous (and 'good boys' but he will never admit that).

Coriolanus Snow thought of you as a friend and dreamed of you as a girlfriend but in reality, you'll be the end of him.

hellooooo! i'm writing this in the final minutes of jan 2, to tell you about the two (2) things i wrote and posted last year. thank you to @sorrybutblog and @oknowkiss for tagging me. i'm extremely low output in a good year, but whew. 2023 was a rollercoaster (fun and terrifying in turns, and truly there was no way to step off once i was strapped in) in my life and i feel like i've just stopped screaming. i'm hoping to have some rest and the mental space to do creative things again this year, including finishing a wip that's languished since 2022.

the first thing i wrote:

is a ficlet that doesn't have a title, but the tagline: NUT SO HARD A PATRONUS COMES OUT, which i feel needs no further explanation. i am desperately tempted to expand this into a full fic because. what happens when you're out in public and your boyfriend back home indulges in a deeply satisfying wank to the thought of you?

the second thing i wrote was:

draco malfoy starring in... bad idea, right? (T, 2.3k words) Leaving the party to see Potter’s new house couldn’t be a bad idea, right? I mean, Draco was invited…

i had a blast writing this and posting it in tiny drips on tumblr!! the banner is some of my best work imo!!

Kept meaning to ask. I've been curious about ancient hair (?). Like is there anyways to cut it? Is there a special process? Since it seems so much more.. attached then ours. Do certain regions prefer longer hair? Is it possible to dye it?

i've talked about it once before (here, in case u haven't seen it yet), but true dat i haven't really gone into as much depth there

it still def is more attached than ours and it's quite... literally the actual anemone part of the whole Ancient, probably the most blatant show of their ancestry/evolutionary past. just because of that it would be most likely left completely alone in most places where they r hanging on to the tradition (like most of lower circles with their continued worship of the Folk Gods. Iterator colonies that more or less do this as well are Suns' and Haboob's)

But! the global religion is everywhere, pricks as well and if the masks are any indication, these guys liked their individuality so all that customization has got to be real

since they are already cutting off hands like nobody's business (and it's not Too strange for someone in the lower circles to show up without a limb that they've lost in the name of escaping some predator, rather than dying to 'em- thankfully they've got solid enough regeneration abilities), they wouldn't really have beef against just taking a knife to the "hair" and straight up just chopping it off

going to a barber isn't so unlike going to a butcher or a sushi cook, i guess 👁👁 except there's got to be some anesthesia or smth like that involved cuz dear gods.

next step would be cleaning the wounds, bandaging them up and after the tube body of it + the tentacles inside heal up enough the bandages come off n Boom, haircut! the wounds could be potentially cauterized to prevent any further healing unless the "hair" will be cut above the area

for dyeing, i suppose either directly painting on it with some special paint could do, by all accounts they could actually get tattoos on their "hair", something similar to mehndi (would track with the RW inspirations), with the technological advancements this world has they might have something more chemically oriented that would stimulate the pigment in a certain way? who knows, these bitches weird, they might as well (i can see the first three as acceptable n not that unusual for lower circles, too)

as far as hair customization goes, there are also the fuckin

lil hair decorations. they deserve a lil shout out too

things can mean smth (like the beads with Inkling standing for each of her kids, she's very proud n happy for having them in her life) or nothing much really (like with granmama Sparru). i imagine that some of these could be crocheted! the elderly/stay at home would be the ones to wear them most often cuz they don't run into the risks of getting the things damaged/caught on something while running thru fields or forests or whatever like younglings often do, but there's no reason why a different age group couldn't wear them too (most likely very low circle oriented, if only cuz the high circles have their golden bone masks that often cover the "hair")

Finally got around to drawing Roxy’s tattoos!! If you’re wondering why they never appeared in previous art pieces, it’s because of ✨laziness✨ But now I have a virtual sticker sheet (transparent PNG) of her tats. So I can just slap em on her and go!

Outline of her different tattoos, including those not pictured, and their significance under the cut:

Syringe: NOT PICTURED BECAUSE I FORGOT IT. Inner left forearm. The first professionally-done tattoo she got. Mel dared her to get it when they were in college together, and Roxy agreed. It remains one of her favorite tats.

Fluffy white cat with a top hat: Left bicep. A tribute to her white Siberian cat, Houdini. Another favorite.

Biohazard sign: Left upper arm. A tattoo she received in high school from her then-boyfriend Philip. She had it touched up and fixed by a professional years later.

Henna: Right forearm. Inspired by mehndi or henna “tattoos”, and a nod to the Indian side of her family.

Barbed wire: Encircling her upper arms and thighs. No real reasoning aside from “it looks neat”

(sic): Nape of her neck. A reference to Slipknot – one of her favorite bands – and their song “(sic)”

Eyeball with bat wings: Chest. Roxy calls it the “my eyes are up here” tattoo. She got it while drunk once but doesn’t necessarily regret it. If you wanna see her naked, you’ve gotta deal with the weird shit too, okay? Whole package and all that.

“Nymphetamine” and hearts: Under her ribcage. A reference to Cradle of Filth – the band who got her into metal – and their song “Nymphetamine Fix”

Black widow and web: Left hip and upper left thigh. No real reasoning

Philip: Right thigh, just above the barbed wire tattoo. The name of her high school flame Philip. Got the tattoo from him way back then, and he got her name tattooed on him as well. They had grand, childish dreams of running away from their dissatisfying small-town lives together once high school was done. As soon as they graduated, though, Philip dipped, and Roxy never saw him again. She had the name crossed out when she got the syringe tattoo.

it's funny that I nearly thought, and considered, about Vowrawn, Ania and Jazz as half mirialans in reboot.

since their Sith Pureblood dna was more dominant in their bloodline until the twins were born.

worth mentioning that Vowrawn, Ania and Jazz all have inked tattoos on their hand and forearm as inspired by Mehndi and irs designs.

even if I made the twins as mirialans, neither actually have facial tattoos so perhaps the tattoos on forearm would be a better substitute?

i wonder if I should play around in character creator and see how they look as mirialans?

This is what I did tonight when I sat down to write;

Ed's henna was fun to design, though, so I did enjoy the time I spent.

Believe it or not, Ed being able to turn invisible isn’t from TOH nor ITSV, it's actually inspired from an old MLP fanfic called Background Pony. It's a somewhat bleak fic but so is my work and that story has been one of my favourites for…. maybe two years now?

While Ed had seen henna and mehndi art from time to time when growing up in Resembool, given its proximity to Ishvall, he'd only really gotten a chance to wear it once or twice in his childhood (curtesy of one of the many people who decided to watch out for the town's resident stewards).

Once William (Envy) becomes a part of his life and decides to teach Ed about their heritage, Ed is reintroduced to henna and decides that he rather likes having it. He can’t apply it himself (as he doesn’t wear the automail art by that point, although I will likely have him start sporting a prosthetic similar to what is seen in CoS) and he takes a fair amount of liberties with the medium, but it is fun.

(Yes, I am projecting. I didn’t learn about my middle eastern heritage until I was eighteen and my grandfather was literally from Lebanon.)

William gifts Ed an archeology book containing illustrations of henna art and styles, which Ed proceeds to use or inspiration whenever Kit (03 Wrath) or Nina agree to use him as a sentient canvas. Kit uses primarily floral or thermal designs (mainly vines or snow), weaving them to work with Ed's homunculus markings and spanning the length of Ed's whole arm rather than just the hand.

Nina, being the artsy wee lass she is, sticks more strictly with illustrations. Her work is more geometric in shape as well as generally more defined.

My friend is getting married at the beginning of April and it's the first Indian wedding I've been invited to so I have no idea what to wear, or where to buy appropriate clothes.

It's kind of a fusion wedding I think so they aren't doing the full series of ceremonies, but there are three events total. First the Mehndi and Sangeet and they've asked that we wear bright/colourful Indian or Western clothes; then the wedding which is traditional Indian or semi-formal Western; and finally the reception which calls for formal Indian/Western clothes.

I'm one of about three white people on the whole guest list so I don't know if I should try and blend in by wearing Indian or Indian-inspired dress, or just stick to what I know. I'm extra worried cause I really really don't want to have to shave or wear makeup for this. I never do either in my regular life, but I know I'll stick out like a sore thumb if I don't, so the idea of also wearing radically different clothing doesn't sound appealing.

To make it even harder, it's at a resort and the wedding ceremony will be on a beach. So I can't go with a standard two- or three-piece suit cause it'll be outdoor and hot. I don't even know if I can dress masc cause my sister raised the concern that if my friend's family is very traditional, they might take issue with a woman wearing unfeminine clothing. Even if I try and find a saree or something, they're so bloody expensive and I likely won't wear it again.

I've overthinking this so bad, but I'm overwhelmed and idk what to do about this.

Yes, but not many. One of them is deep colours. It's the first fic i posted on ao3. It's about James and Lily's indian wedding, where Lily gets mehndi done on her hands and feet for the first time. I love mehndi and I loved writing the fic, and I'm planning on posting its sequel soon :)

K: What’s the angstiest idea you’ve ever come up with?

I recently came up with the idea of Ghost!Regulus living around in Grimmauld while his parents try at having another child (and succeed). It's probably not the angstiest idea I've had, but Regulus is pretty miserable and that's the first one I could think of.
