Thinking about if the ending to Sonic Prime was all of the main characters gain their own as well as their alternate's memories. Specifically. This happening to Tails.

Tails, who's still kind-hearted, brave, overachieving, and still everything that Sonic's little brother is, but is now so much more. So much more that Sonic just isn't sure how to deal with.

Tails who instead of shyly backing up, snaps his jaws and bares his teeth. Tails who seems to have phantom pains from a life that was never his. Tails who yelps when you get too close, and flinches so hard it looks painful. Tails who wakes up from nightmares by vomiting or screaming but refuses to tell Sonic what he dreamt about.

Imagine Sonic shattering everything again, because maybe that would fix it. Maybe he was missing something. Maybe he could try again. But now all of his fox friends, while still bearing personality differences, have each other's memories, and Sonic is weighed down by the guilt

Just Tails baring a wound he's never suffered, his kin who will always bare the same, and Sonic who can't do anything except watch
