Kinktober 1: Jynnow / Machines

Day One: Petroc and a henkelotherium cybernetics nurse, who hires him for his services, even in a rather (un)profressional setting when he's in for maintenance, she has developed a terrible fetish for mechanics in her time working here and hiring Petroc is her dirty little self indulgence. Full disclaimer: not only did I not draw all of these in October, I also didn't even finish the series due to IRL stuff. But I DID do a bunch, and hopefully I'll finish off the rest down the line. The prompt list is based on :iconSpartaDog:'s kinktober list from 2022 Characters: The repeating characters in this series are Petroc the tyrannosaurid (mine), Jaxson the Parasaurolophus (:iconkhurje), Tony the compsognathus and Ralph the ankylosaur (my partner's), the additional characters are all randoms. I also did not get a chance to double check the Kernerwek translations, so there's a very real chance some are utter nonsense.

mystery, my darling, my beloved, reliable sonic news sharer (though i would also consider you friend, should you allow me), you are making me want to become a palaeontologist. and, y'know what? not complaining. dinos have been a lifelong special interest of mine (i have a touch of the mighty 'tism) and being able to study their bones? study dinosaur fossils?? hoo-whee! now that's tempting. (i'm currently on a creative media & production course in college. due to the whole 'wanting to be a photographer because i happen to be surprisingly good at photography' thing. may or may not change courses next year, if they have a course for palaeontology. which i'm praying they do..)

Oh, I’m sorry honey. I don’t study dinosaurs. I study humans. But dinosaurs are very, very cool. My favorite is the Parasaurolophus, they’ve got a cool cranial structure.

I wish that I knew some paleontologists that you could talk to. Because, from my understanding, it’s got a large female demographic (compared to others within that field, like vertebrae and invertebrate zoologists).

My advice to you is to reach out to the department head of your college and ask to get in touch with that department. See if you can combine both of your interests into one. I’m all about you doing things that make you happy. I wish you best of luck, my dear.

hi nina!!!! hope you're doing well :) i was just scrolling through the rm side char board and i noticed some glasses in the recents for the clyde section, so does he wear glasses? :3

does clyde NEED to wear glasses?

which!!! okay! to be FAIR, he's not blind as shit like kyle, he can see just fine without them, he just needs them to read...but clyde is big man on campus, 2 cool 4 school, mr. super fantastic, like he's got a reputation to uphold!!! ( and by that i mean his rage cage record ) so the only glasses he's going to be caught dead w/ are Shot & Pint.

and like you'd think he'd be willing to put his clyde pride away for like 90 minutes a day to be able to read anything in his law class but nooooope!!! like what? let those LOSERS see him? wearing their nerd gear??? Hell No Brother! so across all his classes he's effectively useless and people assume its because he's a dumbass ( which! excuse me he is smart, he's just lazy and doesn't apply himself! ) but it's actually bc he can't fuckin read anything lmao...

( should he just get contacts? maybe? but like thats waaaaay too much work. he'd fall asleep with those in and the lens would have to be like surgically removed from his eyelids...no contacts 4 clyde )

the funniest part about all of this to me and specifically clyde acing that literally impossible professor mackey midterm that got him grouped w/ jersey, heidi and tolkien or scoring higher than kyle is that because he couldn't really read that test, he quite literally did just draw a picture with the scantron dots...it was a parasaurolophus btw.

okay, sidebar almost over but please note, if you accidentally start talking about dinosaurs, it will trigger a moment for clyde and he will just start telling you about different types of dinosaur mating patterns and you just gotta listen, i'm sorry -- tolkien does think its cute and sketches clyde when he's babbling a lot bc his face is very expressive also his eyes get v shiny...i love u clyde.

BUT YES!!! CLYDE DOES NEED TO WEAR GLASSES!!! this meme of rilakkuma in the facemask and the glasses and the thrasher sticker is way too real. but yeah he doesnt want to look like a DORK so he almost never puts them on unless he's completely alone and under the radar. tolkien does find them one day cleaning and is like "clyde, don't you need to wear these" and clyde is like NOOO LOL THOSE ARENT MINE LIKE DONT THROW THME IN THE TRASH OR ANYTHING LOL MY WEB COMIC IS OUT TOMORROW BUT LIKE THEYRE NOT MINE LOOOL...i love u dork jock clyde.

my fave post rm college thing is that clyde actually stays on to pursue his law degree/become an actual lawyer and ravenstan goes back to college bc he never got the chance to go to actual school and goes into...some sort of smart, stem boy thing based around plants, botany, zoology, stuff like that.

I got a really exciting package yesterday! A good friend of mine lives in California, where they happen to have those Tokyo Japanese Lifestyle stores that sell Shinada Global plush. She offered to pick some up for me and send them over along with some other things. I got the peach otter (Yogurt) and the black pig (Truffles) and she surprised me with the mint keychain otter (Chip)!

She also gave me a slumberkins fox (Leaf) who is amazingly soft omg, and the cutest little shoulder plush alebrije that she got for me at Disney! I haven't named the alebrije yet, and am open to suggestions :D

Also included in the package were 2 shirts and a dress from Build-a-Dino, and a ton of cute dinosaur themed goodies like a parasaurolophus-shaped rainbow popit, and some cute little squishy dinosaurs that live on my shelf in my home office so I get to look at them all day 🥺. She also sent me a set of hospital american girl doll accessories, including a cast and crutches which is really neat! The crutches are also the right height for Build-A-Bears, too!

It was such a wonderful surprise, my friend is a very generous person and is excellent at gift-giving. I'm going to the zoo this weekend and I am excited to pick out some Smithsonian-branded plush for her and her 2 kiddos!
