episode four you're like a little sibling going off to school for the first time to me. i love you. the suits before it became old. dean says they're going in as homeland security 'because it's something new and nobody's heard it already a thousand times'. his homemade emf reader made out of an old walkman. little miss nervous flier but he has an extremely good reason (there's demons up there). mathematically significant ass shot. i could go on

#the previous episode establishes dean's need to save his child self in order to come to terms with his survival #and his need to flirt his ass off #but THIS episode establishes his need to just be a silly little guy #he was the sidekick in this episode and it was sooooooo important #spn #this man hasn't done ANY of that shit yet. there is a sparkling light of mischief and cheer in his eyes #his biggest fear is Plane Crash (a completely normal fear)#the last interaction he had with a child went swimmingly (pun appreciated) and it would never cross his mind to shoot his stepson

"Performance issues. Not uncommon. One out of five."

Incensed, Loki snatched Stark's throat and threw him across the room. He prowled around the coughing mechanic, his rage building at having failed to seize the Iron Man's mind. Time was running out. He could hear the irksome and vexingly attractive creature mumbling a call for his artificial intelligence's support.

The god grabbed Tony once more, relishing the fear as he lifted him bodily from the ground.

"You will all fall before me," he hissed.

It was a split-second decision, that once had only ever resulted in Stark being smashed through his own window. Instead, Tony was shoved down onto his back, Loki resting a knee upon his stomach, left hand at his chest.

Third time would be the charm.

Loki brought the tip of the sceptre to Stark's forehead, bypassing the symbolism of the heart in favour of the brain.

"And you will be mine."

He was rewarded with the gleam of blue claiming once brown eyes. Loki dodged back just as Tony's suit of armour hurtled toward him. Any moment now, he would be sure whether he had earned himself a Merchant of Death.

Birthday book haul!

Last year I read ‘The Gatewatch’ by Joshua Gillingham and ‘Truth & Other Lies’ by Lyra Wolf (both are leaning off to the side here) so I was able to get part 2 to ‘The Gatewatch’ and parts 2 and 3 to ‘Truth & Other Lies’.

Last year I also read ‘Northern Wrath’ by Thilde Kold Holt from my local library and absolutely loved it, so my wife got me the entire trilogy.

And I had a little leftover birthday money so I got myself a couple books by Cat Rector about Sigyn and Loki.

(Also was able to get myself a new arm-ring. My previous one has been great; I’ve worn it for about 5 years. But when I bought it, I was looking for something made from steel, because it was strong, inexpensive, and wouldn’t leave a discoloration on my skin. At the time the only style I could find in steel had wolf heads on it, which I was fine with, but ravens are more my style, so I was able to get an update)

Clamour and Mischief brings a veritable storytelling of crows to the corvidae, the bird family known for intelligence and cunning and for their connection with folklore and urban legends. These storytellers come from around the world and include award-winning and -shortlisted authors as well as emerging writers and fledgling authors in their professional debut.

This anthology’s sixteen striking stories are imbued with all the humour, darkness, wisdom, artfulness, vengefulness and magic of the birds that inspired them. Take them as a jest, a guide, or a warning – but don’t, whatever you do, ignore them!

My story

“Branwen and the Three Ravens” is a retelling of the Grimm’s fairy tale “The Seven Ravens”: The creepy adventures of a woman attempting to free her brothers from a curse.

In those days, one could walk to the palace of the Sun. It lay at the last point of land before east became west and day became night. As a child, Branwen had read of the home of the Sun, with its open blue skies and green fields, its maze of a garden laid out in tangled rays, and a palace of bright white walls that had no ceiling.

The reality of it was somewhat different.

this is very specific but i want more fics in which the marauders grow and go from first year, all of them can fit under the invisibility cloak, to seventh year, barely two of them can fit under the invisibility cloak

A Game of Thrones, Catelyn IV

He was alone in the room, seated at a heavy wooden table, an oil lamp beside him as he wrote. When they ushered her inside, he set down his pen and looked at her.

“Cat,” Petyr said quietly.

“Why have I been brought here in this fashion?”

He rose and gestured brusquely to the guards. “Leave us.” The men departed.

“You were not mistreated, I trust,” he said after they had gone. “I gave firm instructions.”

He noticed her bandages. “Your hands…”

Catelyn ignored the implied question.

“I am not accustomed to being summoned like a serving wench,” she said icily. “As a boy, you still knew the meaning of courtesy.”

“I’ve angered you, my lady. That was never my intent.”

He looked contrite. The look brought back vivid memories for Catelyn.

Petyr Baelish had been a sly child, but after his mischiefs he always looked contrite; it was a gift he had.

“SIIIIIIIISSSSS!!!” The moment Ewan even saw her, he couldn’t resist flinging himself onto her for a hug. He knew she was strong and that he was light, so this wouldn’t be a problem, right?

While he knew she was coming, the fact she was actually here now made it feel like the sun just started shining even brighter. Life was good, and today it got just that little bit better.

“I’m so excited you’re here! I made so many friends and learned so many things I can’t wait to show you! And now you’re here too so you can count on me to keep you safe too okay?” He told her with a cheerful tone, still not letting go of her. Part of the reason he started school here was to become smarter and stronger. The stronger he was, the better equipped he was to protect his big sister, and hopefully give back a little bit of all the kindness she gave him.

Finally deciding to let go of her, he instead decided to grab her hand so he could give her a tour. “Here I’ll give you the grand tour of the place, how about that? It’s a pretty big place you can get lost pretty easily, even directions you try to give can end up wrong! ..not that I’ve done that of course, haha.” He was excited for sure, but one realization also struck him. There were now consequences for mischief….!

"is that supposed to surprise me?" she teases. fingers lovingly brush aside a strand of his hair. "i said you would, didn't i?"

sweet ewan. unbeknownst to him, relief sweeps over her. restless nights spent worrying melt away now, quelled by the fact that he is content and well. and yet, a bittersweet realization sets in— time remains a thief. though ewan stays forever little in her arms, there's no denying how much he's grown during their time apart.

all she can do now is enjoy these moments while they still last.

"how thoughtful! i'd like that very much. thank you." tethys sneaks a quick peck on his forehead before ewan releases her. "hey now, remember what we say in dance," she chastises light-heartedly as he grabs her hand. "lead, don't pull!"
