* I get literally nothing from this but some cute in-game items lol ** Note for Switch players: When you open the game for the first time on your Switch, make sure you link your Palia account when prompted. You can not link again if you skip the first time.

The developers have said that this will continue to be a free-to-play game. The only real-money purchases are for cutesy outfits. Nothing purchased with real-money will ever give gameplay advantages.

While Singularity 6 is a newer company formed by previous employees from large MMOs, it is still a big company; I want to be transparent that this isn't a tiny indie game.

That said, the developers are very transparent about game progress and have proven to be extremely receptive to player input. The game is in beta testing. Each update brings new content as well as fixes, and I've enjoyed every one!

I’ve been listening to a lot of videos on scam MMOs/really crappy MMOs, and a lot of them, particularly recent ones are like “Community driven! Persistent world! Players decide their adventure! Build whatever you want!”

Sir, that’s a minecraft server.

“Create custom details and items with in-game systems! Endless creativity!”

That’s a minecraft server with chisel.

“Full loot pvp! Lose your experience on death! Death is punishing!”

That’s any minecraft server unless pvp is turned off or KeepInv is on. You can increase the difficulty yourself and find public servers that cater to any difficulty.

“Fight mobs! Tame mobs! Fight bosses.”

This is still just a minecraft server. You can add in more mobs if you feel like it via mods. You can straight up add Pixelmon if you want. It’s literally all pokemon. It’s free.

“Dungeons! Big, hard, dangerous dungeons that you can do with friends! Amazing graphics!”

Vault hunters is right there. Servers for it exist all over. There’s other mods too, that’s just my favorite. Graphics are just a matter of texture packs, and players can pick their own style.

All of these are just things you can already do on a minecraft server, with a few mods. Public servers for a lot of them already exist. If you feel like spending some money, you can make your own for a wide range of player sizes. Might not even need to spend money if you’ve got an old computer laying around that works for hosting.

I feel like the MMO community could really stand to discover minecraft servers. Someone should tell them these are an option.

Toram Online

Man, I just suddenly remembered how I tried playing Toram Online before. It was the only JMMORPG I've ever played. The game was aesthetically pleasing; you can take pictures, do different poses and make memories everywhere you go across the map. The lore, fighting styles and the customization were all very great as well. Overall great game in my opinion.
